Every night I do some reading before passing out. I don't care if I'm as sober as a judge, inebriated after First Fridaze, or had just poke smot, it's a ritual as ingrained as any involving a card, twenty dollar bills, foil, or needles; I read before bed. Recently I got into the habit of rereading Fast Food Nation. McDonalds gets a truly bad rep here as you can read in many summaries of the book online. The deceptive and downright shady business practices targeting children are revealed, along with the multitude of chemicals designed to preserve and feign deliciousness. Sometimes reading, I had to take a deep breath and put the book down. Because I became hungry. Oh the cravings... In the past three days I have eaten at McDonald's three times. I can feel myself going down this path of addiction. I need to stop. Begrudgingly, 5 fucking stars.

OK, McDonald's is McDonald's, but this review is about their "Mighty Wings". We went there today with the intention of getting our daughters an order of large french fries and noticed that there were wings on the menu. Yes, I'd heard rumors that McD's was dipping into the wing market, and that they managed (with their LARGE purchase of wings nationwide) to drive wings prices through the roof, but I had yet to give them a second thought until today. $5.99 for 10 wings - not a bad deal if you do the comparative math. In my experience with wings (which is a lifetime of wing loving' goodness), wings are typically medium in size from any decent restaurant. You might assume then (like I did), that at a fast food chain like McDonalds, that their wings would be smallish and lacking meat. In this case, however, we'd be wrong . . . their Mighty Wings are HUGE. You might also assume that their wings would be lacking in flavor. Again, you'd be wrong. In fact, I read somewhere that there has been an issue with the flavor being TOO spicy. WTF??? They advertise them as being "bold and spicy". I don't know what these people thought they were supposed taste like, maybe sweet teriyaki? I thought they were fantastic!!!! They didn't need any extra sauce, although (out of habit) I did add some hot sauce to mine. In regards to this particular McDonalds, we came during the dinner rush so it was pretty crowded. We bypassed the LONG line at the drive through and ordered inside instead. Got our food quickly and left. No complaints there.

Home for the homeless.. they bring cups back in for free drinks. take over outdoor seating... steal napkins.. sleep in the doorway and the management does not clean up the store.. I will never go there ever and will write negative reviews to corporate in Chicago.. Update.. 3 people stabbed in last 2 weeks.. behind this McDonalds.. across the street and down the block.

With all the psycho's that hang out there and make the place reek, you will loose your appetite for the super processed food. My McChicken sandwich was cold and squished with a sloppy mess of mayonnaise. It's amazingly bad here!

Every time I come to this Mcdonalds I always have a bad experience. Whether it's busy or not, they always forget a part of my order and fail to put the correct toppings I asked for. The staff lacks customer service and is not very welcoming. The location is really sketchy especially at night with all the weirdos hanging around the dining area. I wouldn't recommend anyone going to this Mcdonalds.

More often than NOT, we come here for dinner (5:00 PM to 5:30 PM) and are forced to move our car because of a delivery. It never fails! Because my wife and mother-in-law are handicapped, we have to park in the handicap stall. Whenever they take a delivery, they have to empty the stalls nearest to the delivery door which means all handicap stalls and other stalls. That sucks! We shouldn't have to move mid-dinner. Where's the customer service!! Auwe!!!!

Cold hash brown and soggy sausage egg mcmuffin. To top it off, sprinkler water spraying onto my car while I order through the drive through.

Convenient, fast, and mostly accurate and near work. On my 35th check in here today (7/22) I still appreciate it's existence. When I want something super basic and not big of a portion and when I feel like being cheap, this is my go to place. My main go to is their Fruit 'n Yogurt Parfait (150 calories). Based on the ingredients of low fat yogurt, strawberries, blueberries and low fat crunchy granola. This is only good for the light eaters as it's only 5.2oz. What's disappointing is since they're prepacked, sometimes they're given on the frozen side at the time of order. My guilty pleasure would be their hash browns (147 calories) if I feel the parfait by itself is not going to cut it. They also have a pretty nice selection of cold coffees (Mocha Frappe), smoothies and lemonade at an affordable price. It's perfect for the price conscience and convenience. The location can use a lot of improvement as far as outdoor cleanliness. But they have a private lot of their own. You wouldn't need to worry about parking on the street. Customer service is good as well at least in the mornings and sometimes in the afternoon depending on which squad of the day you get.

Why is it that almost every McDonald's you go to has such BAD service? I know it's fast food but still, it's not rocket science to put together a meal lol. When I ordered the girl kept repeating my order WRONG, Yes I speak English, and I was saying it loud and clear. Took her about 5 min to fully understand my simple order. When I got my food, which I had included 2 large fries, they filled them about half way, like a medium, not to mention I asked for it to go, and they put it on a tray instead! I instantly handed it back and told them that it's a large fries why is it not filled up all the way and that I had asked for it to go! The lady there was the manager she them took the bag and said okay, I had to wait 3 min for new fries. Anyway moral of the story is, no be shame to ask what you pay for, my money is good and that's even if I'm at McDonald's, If I'm paying for a large I WANT a large lol.

I don't expect good service when I go to mcdonalds but I don't expect to be treated like an animal. I ordered something new and didn't know there was more than 1 type of the item. Kelly looked at me as if I was stupid saying I don't know what kind you want. Ok...give me some options then. When the receipt was put on the counter I took it then she grabbed it out of my hand saying I had the wrong receipt. McDonald's is whatever but don't treat me like crap

  • Jason G.

I got two refills of coffee and both times they gave me a new lid. In total, they gave me three plastic lids. They could have given me zero. I don't want or need my receipt for the $1.05 purchase. Ever. The person sweeping and dusting today repeatedly did it in front of me, not really doing most of the store. I asked her to stop and she didn't. The floor looks like you could eat off it. Why isn't there a sign asking people to clean up after themselves? Every McDonalds feels like there are too many employees there. I think they have them do things over and over because they're here, even if those things don't really need to be done (e.g. sweeping and mopping the same clean area 1,000 times).

I'm a well seasoned mom of three kiddies so there's no going into McDonald's, I'll leave that to the amateurs. When you're a walking octopus lady who works, chauffeurs, raises humans and cooks dinner all while applying your mascara, it's all about the drive-thru!!! If I had a magic lamp I'd make my ENTIRE LIFE drive-thru... Grocery shopping for bulk and farm fresh organic items: Drive-thru! Dry-cleaning at cheap prices but with zero underarm stains: Drive-thru! Gourmet 12-course dinner date that doesn't make you fat: Drive-thru! Glamorous haircut complete with gay hairstylist who tells me how pretty you are: Drive-thru! Hot yoga workout where you don't sweat, but you still burn 2,000 calories: Drive-thru! Think of the years we'd get back! Think about how beautiful we'd be! But for now, because I have not yet found my magic lamp complete with wish granting genie we shall have to settle for McDonald's drive-thru where we get excellent service from two efficient ordering lanes... One vanilla ice cream cone and two M&M McFlurries that instantly make me the "World's Best Mom" and hero for an afternoon: Drive-Thru!!!

I RARELY give reviews. However, this McDonald's deserves one. This is the worst McDonald's restaurant I've ever been to. I wish there were zero star ratings. I waited at the register for at least five minutes while the trainee tried to figure out got to take my order. She called for help a couple of times with a manager not even 15 feet away, but was ignored. Obviously my order was messed up, despite the fact that it was after midnight and there were only a handful of people in the restaurant. I'll never eat at this McDonald's again.

  • Victorious D.

This McD has a nice staff, and they are pretty fast for how crowded they are. So why the 2 star review? I don't feel safe here. I won't come here alone. There is a lot of homelessness and crime in the area, and many loiterers right around here. One guy in particular is always bothering people. It is a messy, smelly McD, but I am sure the staff is doing what they can. But, for me, this place is a last resort.

  • Melina P.

I always use the drive-thru here & stop by pretty often on my way to work. My orders are always the same, are always correct & on point. The only thing I hate is the double drive-thru lanes. This location can get pretty hectic in the mornings & having two lanes giving orders at the same time & then merging back into one lane is just bad common sense to me. How the heck is this helping to speed anything up? A week or two ago I was here & they had the secondary lane closed. It sped things up DRASTICALLY. & I mean there was NO wait time. By the time I got my card back from the cashier, the ONE car that was in front of me had already grabbed their food at the next window & was long gone.

Absolutely the worst McDonald's I've been to on Oahu. Cashiers are unfriendly, unhappy and gives you the wrong receipt and called one of the female customers "mama". Managers are yelling and using dirty words... Pigdens walking INSIDE the restaurant while the worker sweeps your feet with broom.

  • Paul N.

This location still has $1 drinks ...it sucks that all the locations don't have the same pricing. The $1 menu had shrunk to almost nothing. Mcdouble is now $1.59. Cheapest burger it's cheeseburger for $1...remember when it was .59 cents. Soda are self service. A very busy location.

I hate this Mcdonald. 1. The worker used the bathroom and didnot wash her hand. I told the manager bust she didnot do nothing. She should tell her employer to go back to the bathroom and wash her hand. But no!!! 2. Another time just right after midnight, we are dinning inn and i need to used bathroom and she told me its closed because its after midnight. I said okay no problem so i sit back to my table. 3. One month after we order food inside. And its after midnight, guy come inn from outside and ask for bathroom and the cashier open the bathroom for the guy, I was shock. I said what the F...

I love McDonald's!!! I recently moved to Oahu and found a Micky d's down the street. I was enjoying my meal at 7 pm when a homeless person walked in looking like the girl from exorcist. The thing walked up to me with black and blue arms gets 2 inches up to my face and starts threatening me and my family. that was so frightening. It was like a real life horror movie. Saying i was going to burn with my children and father... I couldn't enjoy my meal as he sat across from me staring at me eat. As I through away my food and started for the door the demon followed me outside in the parking lot. He was so high he thought I was some creature ... Anyway he got closer to me and touched me with his 2 inch black fingernails and began to spit at me. So I knocked him out in 6 punches. And am going to get checked for diseases. Micky d's. Figure that stuff out please. I guess il have to give jack in the box a try now.

How many customers out there goes to this McDonald very often? I used to but got really tired of all the homeless going in there for their free drinks. I emailed their main office and they had their manager call me up but I could tell from her voice and what she had to say, she's not going to do one thing about it. She tells me they have a guard at nights and they are looking for another one, how long does it take to get a guard? Is Mcdonalds too cheap to give their customers a decent and clean place to eat? At one time they had a guard during the day and I was pleased to see they finally hired one and when the homeless seen this guard they didn't go after any drinks. I know people are having a hard time, don't get me wrong but they know what their doing and that's stealing. They don't even use McDonalds cups? Some bring in big thermoses? Who knows what they been using their hands for and now you are touching the same things as they did. If you are a concerned citizen, then you should put in a complaint to their mainland office like I did. I used to go there with my son but all he see's are people stealing and getting away with it, that's not good for a child to see or learn, I don't want him to think about stealing. Their hands are dirty and they even have poop on their pants and they are touching the soda machines that you are touching also. They take tea, soda, lids, straws and whatever they can. I know at times, this can't be sanitary at all. They touch the lids and the handles, Think about It! All the middle school kids that go over there after school, could be your child touching the dirty handles and lids that they touched also, again think about it as I did with my son. I was going there 2 to 3 times a week for over a year and I do sit near the soda machines just to see if McDonalds really do care for their customers and cleanliness and they don't. I see the manager look at them but she turns her head and goes on with other things when she does have the time as I see it to ask them to leave but she don't? This Mcdonald's is getting so popular with the homeless that the ones from the Beretania McDonalds are going over there because they don't watch them over there at the Keeaumoku branch. The bathrooms are really dirty also. I go in there during the afternoon and I guess the homeless gets in there when a regular customer goes out and the floors are just too dirty (urine)to walk on at times. Again Bad Management. This McDonalds also has a lot of tourist that comes in due to it's location and what do they see? People talk and people talk to me about this problem at this particular McDonalds because it's that bad. They tell me, Burger King confronts the homeless if they don't buy anything so that's why you don't see homeless people going into the Burger Kings taking drinks. Burger King puts a stop to it right away and the public does take notice. So all I have to say it look at your hands and think what kind of person might had touched that leaver, straws or cup lid or anything in that area? Where his or her hands been touching before they came into this McDonalds? I seen it for over 2 year at this McDonalds and it seems the manager don't care about the health issues, so I just eat somewhere else now since they don't seem to care. You have to spend some time there and watch and then you will see. I had to wait there many times for my son's doctor visits close by so we sit there and have a snack and this is why I know what's been going on over there for all these years and it's just getting worse. Where has your hands been? Save your money and eat somewhere that is clean and where the manager really cares for your business. Kaneohe McDonalds don't have the homeless and they even have the ketchup machine out for you to get your own and the Waiakamilo branch does also, so why not Keeaumoku?

Well it may be late but me and 8 people came in and bought meals.. The manager, Ethlene told us we could not use the restroom.... I understand late night but when we pay for over 8 meals and a little girl wants to use the restroom I would think they would understand and let them!

McDonald's on Keeaumoku is open 24 hours a day and has a Drive-Thru that's open 24 hours a day. Recently, I've been going almost daily because of their $1 Egg While McMuffin with a printable coupon from Facebook thru June 20, 2013. It's a great bargain at just $1! I use their 24 hour drive thru that has 2 order taking lanes for fastest service!

This McDonalds is at a rather shady location. A lot of homeless hang out here and a bit of noticable drug activity goes on nearby. The food is standard McDonalds stuff. Cheap and easy.

Okay, McDonald's is McDonald's and everyone knows what to expect from their food and how awesome their fries are and what not. And no, I don't ever expect good customer service from fast food restaurants but this particular McDonald's gets one star from me for their service. This McDonald's is always busy as it's in a prime location but the service is sllllooow! I was in the drive thru for about 10 minutes, thinking it shouldn't take too long because there are two lanes. I was wrong. I didn't move for the entire 10 minutes. Luckily, I was at the end of the drive thru and decided to reverse out and just walk in instead. There was no line when I got inside so I was relieved and figured it would be quicker than the drive thru. Wrong again! All I ordered was a late night snack-2 snack wraps and I kid you not, it took me 23 minutes to get them. 23 minutes for 2 snack wraps! I didn't know what took so long as there was no line ahead of me and there were ample employees. Yeah, the drive thru line outside was long but they had enough employees to cover that rush. But as I observed while I was waiting for my food (I had a long time to observe), I noticed that the employees move like snails. There was no sense of urgency whatsoever. They must not have gotten the memo that they work in a FAST food restaurant. Even when I walked up to the counter to check on my food, it took them a while to meet me at the counter to see what I needed. From the time printed on my receipt, to the time they handed me my food, it took 23 minutes and this isn't including the 10 minutes I waited in the drive thru. I've ordered 2 snack wraps at other locations before, busy and all but it never took that long. Something just wasn't right in the kitchen. They need to find a way to streamline things. Needless to say, this isn't my favorite McDonald's location.

Definitely lacking in service like many others have said. I mostly do drive thru and EVERY TIME I leave the window I realize I'm missing something from my order. =`[ I keep forgetting to check before I pull away even though I always remind myself before I order! Lmao!

  • Jordan B.

Drove through to order. Wasn't greeted with a "hi welcome to McDonald's may I take your order" instead I got "ready to order" in a grumpy tone. The drive thru lane was littered with trash. After arriving to work to eat my breakfast that I ordered, my sausage mcmuffin was really burnt that I had to toss both in the trash. I wouldn't recommend this McDonald's. This wasn't the first time this has happened.

  • Gary N.

I would of gave this place two stars, but this place's cheap menu leaned me to giving it three. I love their McDouble sandwiches and I ordered two McDoubles, a small fries, a large drink, and a Taro Pie. When I received my order I asked for some ketchup and I was given some, but was threatened by the cashier that next time they will need to charge me. Geez. The ketchup by the soda fountains were out. Both machines were empty. I found it interesting that a group of high school students had brought their own bottle of ketchup. It was the full size bottle and they were passing it between the ten or so of them. The food was good as always, but are times really that hard that you have to start charging customers for ketchup?

If don't mind to eat next to a homeless person this is the McDonalds to go to. I saw a few homeless people going through trash picking up cups then getting drinks because the fountain drinks are available to everyone. Don't think I will take my son to eat inside here again. We couldn't finish our food due to the smell of the homeless person next to us and it was busy in dining room so no other tables to move to.

Yelp 024/365 First of all, let me say that I am not a big fan of McDonald's; I am not a fan at all. I literally loathe the burgers, how they taste and the crispy fries....yuck! However, I am giving this place three stars mainly due to a whole lot of other things. I have been coming to this specific location for many years; let's say at least twenty. They gone through many different looks from having a section for the kids to play on different games to (presently) having a outdoor seated area with giant umbrellas. I think this McDonald's is awesome mainly for two reasons. 1. Outdoor seating area: It's awesome to sit outside; away from the freezing A/C inside. Other than that, it's great to sit under a huge umberella (just in case it rains) and sip on your coffee (or eat an ice cream cone all for $1.05) and read your book. It gets really crowded and noisy come the evenings and the late afternoons, but around the morning to about lunch time, it is serene. 2. The service: You would think the stereotypical service where you get some old and/or FOB person talking to you when that person does not know a lick of Engrish. It has gotten a lot better. The last few times I have been here, I have been treated with courtesy more than 90% of the time. That is a record for me; especially when I go to fast food places like this. What I am getting at is if you are a McDonald's junkie or you love quick fast food, this location is my favorite for exactly that! This location reinvents itself for the better every time; at least for the past twenty plus years I have been alive... What is there left to say in this already long review except...YELP POWER!!!

This place needs to get a handle on the homeless cruising around there and walking in to get free drinks . Manager seems to just look away so they'll keep going in . The place just looks dirty.

Even though I'd rather go "Jbee," Mcdo is all good too. So this Mcdo is cool beacause it's right next to a lot of things in the Ala Moana area. It's pretty spacious inside and pretty spacious outside with seating and what not. This place does kinda get busy with lines and such at random times. I remember coming here in the morning in the recent Tsunami warnings and mannn was it packed. It opened kinda late that day but at least they opened. The drive thru is pretty cool with 2 lines. For the drinks, they have their own dispensers. Any Mcdo that has their own dispenser is automatically thee shiznit cuz you know how that flows hahaha. Anyway sometimes when it is busy, parking can get limited. They don't have too much stalls open.

Kinda stabby, but it's a McDonalds. For drive through it's a thumbs up. For dine-in thumbs down. Too much homeless and at night tends to be a little on the stabby side.

This place is a hot mess with all the homeless, but the coffee never fails me!

This place is a hit n miss. Sometimes u can recieve fast n efficient service- and sometimes the service is ridiculously slowww. Its 430am - there is no reason service should be slowww it not rush hour. This is fast food it should be fast n efficient.

This is one of my favorite McDonalds drive-thru locations because there are so many ordering stations and everything comes out super fast. This location seems to be wayyyyy more efficient than the beretania st location. The only down side is that the drive thru exits on koreamoku (right turn only) and unless, you're going towards ala moana, you have to drive around the block.

They make too many mistakes on my order. Is it just MY orders that they have to make mistakes on every time? I usually go to their Drive-Thru. I ordered a CHOCOLATE shake and they gave me a shake at the window, I drive on and find that I can see WHITE instead of brown from the lid. I tasted it and, yes, they gave me a Vanilla shake. I ordered a VANILLA latte. They gave me a drink at the window and I did not taste the Vanilla. It wasn't even noted on the cup. Further more, they were about to give me a Filet-o-Fish burger that I did not order. Okay, enough mistakes. Not going to this location anymore.

Vanilla Ice Coffee, sugarless, is a great way to cool down. Served at Mc Donald's - 910 Keeaumoku Street, Honolulu, HI, I sat in their lounge chair while waiting 20 minutes for Yajima's Car Wash to finish my car. Taking your food order took more time than it should have for such a simple order. Bathroom - ask the clerk to buzz you in.

This is the slowest and worst customer service mcds. No acknowledgement at the drive thru, been waiting here over 5mins and still waiting.

Not sure if I came on a off day or too early in the morning but I did a drive through order and it took longer than 10 minutes!!!! Plus it was in the morning around 5:30am and they didn't have the breakfast menu up so I had guess what to order and I didn't know the prices!! Usually McD's has awesome quick service but today I was disappointed hopefully my next visit I can update my review and rave about better service.

I went in 4 two happy meals...one cheeseburger and one nuggets...I got 2 cheeseburger happy meals. Ashley is allergic to cheese...there were barely any fries in there either. I know it's a small fries but really? Both of their fries made one small order. Also they didn't get the Halloween bucket they wanted either. This location sucks! Note to self...never again!

The taro pie is really great! The workers here are friendly and really pay attention to your order.

I love this 24 hour McDonalds. Those tasty fries sober me up real quick! I also like how there are two drive-thru lines so your wait time is shorter. I love to order a medium iced coffee (black, with no liquid sugar or cream) for $2.19. It's HUGE, strong, and way more economical than Starbucks.

Any McDonalds is good but at this location it was quick. I expected a long line at the drive-thru but thanks to their 2 lines the process was smooth.

The place definitely looks more inviting since the remodel. There is a bit of confusion when ordering since they don't have a dedicated pick up area, everyone seems to just mingle around in front of the registers. This makes it very hard to tell who is in line and who isn't. I stood in "line" once for several minutes before I realized that the guy in front of me wasn't in line. Also, they created a second drive-thru lane for ordering . I'm not sure if that makes the line any quicker since the person taking the order just alternates between the two lanes. So, you end up sitting in front of the ordering speaker for a while before you hear anyone. It's great if you don't know what you want, but irritating if all you want is an ice cream cone and a coke.

Value for the food you get both quality and quantity. Can't good wrong when MikeyD is a very big corporation who does alot of research on what customers want and will pay. Good burger, fries, ice cream, chicken nuggets, breakfast. They fill a void in that not everyone can go to 5 star $$$$ places to eat. They offer job oppurtunities to anyone wanting to work.

Smokin hot french fries at 12:00am and a hot fudge sundae is the bestest!!!!! It can't be just anyold fries, it's gotta be Mc D's fries!!!!! Hell yeah!!!

Well, first off, it's a McDonalds. This is not haute cuisine and if you go there expecting that you will be disappointed. It does have all the classic Hawaiian McDonald amenities though that you can't get on the mainland like Saimin, Portugee Sausage, Spam and Rice breakfast platter, and different types of pies. I never got to try the haupia pie and the pineapple pies are kinda gross but the taro pies are awesome! I wish there was some way for me to recreate the taro pies at home and I'm not even a big taro fan.

This is the McDonald's you'll see on your right if you're driving straight towards the ocean on Ke'eaumoku St., while trying to go to Walmart or Ala Moana shopping center. The drive-thru is open 24 hours at this location. I ordered: 1) crispy chicken snack wrap - was not crispy or very yummy, but did the job and was a deal for about $1.50. 2) small coke - perfectly fine, 3) large french fries - nice and hot, but I like them with more salt, and 4) BBQ sauce ($.10). It all came out to under $5. I was thinking that the drive-thru was really organized and quick, but then I did my standard check of my items before driving off, and found they had given me sweet/sour sauce instead of BBQ. So then I had to pull over, get out of the car, go inside to trade in my sauce. I had to wait for about 3 minutes in line. I didn't have any trouble trading sauces. I was annoyed anyway. BTW - I asked, and they don't have haupia pie at this location. Go to the Kamehameha Shopping Center McDonald's to try it.
