I feel the best thing about Happy Hour at Kincaid's is their Lavender Cosmos and the sunset view. The food was mediocre at best. We ordered the onion rings which was wet on the inside. The tasteless crab cakes sat on of 2 sauces, a buerre blanc and some kind of Asian inspired sweet sauce, which didn't do much for it. The Kobe Sliders were ok. They smeared on a heavy dose of olive spread so all you taste is salty olives The Buffalo Wings were ok... you can't really mess that up too badly. Did I mentioned that all the food came out lukewarm and the portions were small compared to other places...? You would be much better off heading to Ryan's which is right around the corner or brave Waikiki and head to the Yard House. Note that Yard House's happy hour runs Mon thru Fri from 2-5:50 PM, while Ryan's and Kincaid's have happy hour daily and again at 10 PM.

I forgot what great lunch special combos they have...salmon chowder soup & crab and artichoke sandwich $13. My friend had the Shrimp pasta & salad combo $13....great prices & good food! They are also offering 50% off selected bottles of wine for a limited time! I will be back to take advantage of that! As always great service:)

I go here a couple of times every year when I'm back on the Island and the only negative surprise on my visit last night: happy hour is now only from 4-6, instead of 4-7. They have also cut down the number of live music nights to just one, Thursdays, from three (I believe). The live music begins at 7pm. This is something I won't be crying in my Widmer's Hefeweizen about, as the live, and often fairly loud, music can make 'sotto voce' conversation difficult. The appetizers are still great and good value during HH; yesterday, our group had the calamari (my favorite), crab dip, sweet potato fries and scallop lollipops. Service was very attentive and as good as I remember. Note to self: get there closer to 4pm next time!

I've been to Kincaid's numerous times and the food and service are very consistent. My favorite main course on the menu is the pork chop. It is dyn-o-mite! Back when we still had Palomino's their smoked pork chop was fantastic. Now I have a new pork chop. This place is so busy, it's always wise to have a reservation. I've never been there when the house wasn't rockin'.

Went there for a late lunch the other day, after just having been there a couple weeks ago for lunch. Our waitress was the same and she was attentive and friendly. Their appetizer bread is delicious...enough to whet your appetite. I ordered the lunch combo, just because my friends had ordered it from the last time and they went on and on about it. I was surprised at the amount of food, which was quite a bit. I ordered the 1/2 crab sandwich with the wedge salad and sweet potato fries ($1 more)....you have several to choose from. My lunch came up to about $18, with my refillable strawberry lemonade. The crab sandwich was awesome, worth another trip...open faced with tomato and melted cheese right on top. Loved the fries...tasted like real sweet potato. Salad good too....just enough. Although on the higher end for lunch, would definitely go again. I was too stuffed to order dessert, but the last time I did get dessert as well as my fellow lunchers and I highly recommend getting it.

We have come to this Kincaid's location every year for the last seven years. We kept coming back because of the wonderful seafood and their fantastic crab and artichoke dip. Last year the crab and artichoke dip just wasn't the same. Our waiter insisted that there was no change to the recipe, but it was not as it had been before. I thought maybe it was an off night, so we returned a week later and it still was not as good. This year we returned yet again, hoping that it would be back to its former glory. What a mistake. First, their menu had changed, and was more limited than in the past. I wasn't bothered, but my mother insisted that she could not find anything that sounded good to her. We started with two orders of the crab and artichoke dip. It was even worse than last year, with hardly any crab or artichoke to be found. Our waiter really played up their new "fresh" menu that had their specials, so I ordered the asiago and almond crusted mahimahi. What I actually got is difficult to describe. It looked (and tasted) as if it had been crusted with supermarket bread crumbs. There was certainly not a single almond or any cheese in what was more of a breading than a crust. And to top it off it had been horribly overcooked. I always finish my meal, but I did not even finish the entree since it was so unappetizing. Everyone else in our party was equally disappointed, and we left without even looking at the desserts. What used to be a bustling, busy restaurant now looks like a ghost town, and I know why. What a disappointment. We will not be returning.

Happy hour at the bar is great. Prices for specials and food are so reasonable. Fellow customers are friendly and bartender was great (very knowledgeable and personable). Not too crowded, not too empty. Can't wait to go back!

Horrible service. We waited so long for our food, I think I gained 10 pounds just sitting there. Food was okay, but the creme brulee was awesome. Not worth the wait though.

One of the old timers among restaurants in Honolulu. I think that says something. Like Ryan's, they've had their ups and downs but have so far survived the volatile restaurant business. In my younger days, we'd come here and drink till the place closed. Cecilio would be playing the C&K classics, what more could you want? The food was a bit pricey but somebody figured out if they make the pupu's inexpensive, have great service and great liquor, you'll draw the crowds, which they certainly do. If you don't come early (4:30-5pm) you might not be able to find a place to sit. They seem to change the menu often and I think that might disappoint folks that come here for certain items. Like the Coconut Shrimp. Used to be on the tasting platter but no more. But all in all, a great place to come, be it for drinks, dinner or lunch. By the way, there's a dinner deal for early birds and the best deal by far is the kid's meal. I think it was $5 or $6 and I almost wanted to eat my boy's meal rather than mine! No kidding, it was that good. One other thing, the burnt creme and the cobbler pies are incredible! Four stars only because they have an idiot manager that gave us a hard time at lunch once about using a certificate. Big fricken deal if he had to comp us a lunch rather than dinner when the coupon was supposed to be for! What kind of mentality is that?

This is one of my favorite places to eat. I always go with some kind of salmon dish and that has never failed me. The food is excellent.

took our boss here for you guessed it, boss's day and was pleasantly surprised that i actually really liked it. I've been here several times in the past and it was just, "eh." prices are decent and there is just so much variety and options for lunch. you can get a little bit of this and a little bit of that for just $13. today I got the half mac and cheese that's made with gruyere and some other cheeses with buttery bread crumbs on the top and the french onion soup which was a $1 more. both very rich but very delish. you can also get combos of pasta's and sandwhiches for $16 eventhough it doesn't say on the menu. we also got the king crab/artichoke dip with focaccia bread that is always very good here. I know fo sure that the burnt cream is probably the best I've had on this island but i was way too stuffed to get it today. it also helped that we got these gift cards from our benefits fair that would either be $15 or $500.00 but all of our cards was for $15 and you can only use one per table.

Eeeewwww...YUCK! Seriously this place is gross!!! The reasons for a ONE STAR RATING.... 1. To start I had the French Onion Soup. There was a metallic tasting burnt....IDK..essence to my soup?!?!?! It wasn't the bread and it wasn't the cheese so it must have been the soup itself. It tasted like the soup was on a high heat for a little too long, someone finally stirred it, scrapped the bottom while doing so and then served it. I was pretty gross, so that's minus a star. 2. I had the Burger for my entree. I ordered it Medium and added bacon, avocado and cheddar cheese. My burger was served frickn WELL DONE, I hate it, hate it, hate it when that happens! Over cooked food is obviously and irreversible mistake which means, I have to either flag down or wait for our server, explain my displeasure, wait for my food again and finally be served when the rest of my party is done eating. I ate the damn thing anyways. I don't know what the hell was wrong with the kitchen that day but every single slice of onion I had in my burger still had the skin attached to it...I was pulling onion skin strands out of mouth with every bite...I'm seriously not exaggerating. I only ate 1/4 of the damn thing. So that's minus a star for the damn burger. 3. The Mahi...my friend ordered. Two of my friends ordered two different Mahi dishes. One of the Mahis that was used was, according to the four other people on the table...spoiled. Oh GROSS! I took their word for it and stayed away from it. They compared the fish itself to the other, they said the two were completely different in taste and texture. There was no doubt in their minds that fish was spoiled. My friend sent it back and decided not to order anything else. Definitely minus a star for that. 4. The hostesses are not bright and unprofessional. I made a reservation, needed to change it so I called. The girl that answered said "Hello?" Stunned, I thought I had the wrong number, I didn't know what to say....I paused for a moment, the hostess frickn hung up on me. WTF?!?!? I checked google again, tapped on the ph# on my iphone screen again...same girl answered, this time asking me if I could hold...I said yes...I held on for over 6 frickn minutes before I hung up. WTF?!?!?! I called back, I got the proper greeting...from the same frickn girl as the previous 2 calls...I told her I needed to move my reservation back a little...there was no problem doing so. Prior to arriving to your reservation is not the time to get all nuts, I figured I would wait and see if it was really worth it....it wasn't. It's a shame that any business would allow such unprofessional ism to represent them especially when they are the ones who make first contact with customers. I could have easily canceled and the 5 of us would have ate somewhere nicer. minus a star. 5. If I could minus a half star I would do so for service. Our server was as sweet as can be and knew the menu very well. He did not however, know how to handle our displeasure with the few issues we brought up. He seemed to care but wasn't really doing anything proactive to help the situation. Other than that, our drinks were always filled he came around to check on us quite a bit...he deserved his 20% because of that I believe. The problems with our food was not to be blamed on him but he could have at least sent the manager over to handle it. Kincaid's was one of my favorites about 10 years ago. They could do no wrong in my eyes, the food was worth savoring and service was impeccable. Today, Kincaid's is just a gross, disgusting, sloppy, mess that has made it to the top of my "Never Going Back Even If You Paid Me" list.

As I've said many times before, I fundamentally don't give a shit about what a restaurant looks like. It could be the coolest venue in town, designed by Gehry and replete with Starck furniture, but I'm not there to admire the surroundings or bask in the glow of people who foolishly think their milkshake brings all the boyzz to the yard -- I'm there to fucking EAT. Besides, a lot of restaurants LOOK different from each other but serve the same fucking crap -- it's like admiring a hot, muscular dude from afar only to discover that he speaks FALSETTO LIKE A CASTRATI for fifteen minutes without saying ANYTHING OF CONSEQUENCE. Or expecting Darin I to be pretty, witty, and wise in person when in fact he is none of the above. So I'm sure you'll know what I mean when I say that though Kincaid's LOOKS like a hybrid plantation house-cum-yacht club -- basically where Thurston Howell III dines before sending his tenant farmers out to pick rice -- and has a marvelous view of Kewalo Basin, it's basically Outback Steakhouse or Sizzler. "Ha! Serves you right Darin for eating at a fucking chain!" Look fuckface, I didn't really have a choice this Christmas Eve. See, The Family is basically like EVERY OTHER FAMILY saddled with a six-year old and a three-year old (my nephews): THEY are the arbitrators when it comes to restaurant decisions. Much as I wanted to dine someplace shishi like La Mer or Chef Mavro those places ultimately just wouldn't cut it for the kids. It's not like my nephews give a fuck about duck confit or a cheese platter without Velveeta or Nieman Ranch anything. The little monsters are happy with some slop from Chef Boyardee and a fruit roll-up. So we chose Kincaid's because they have a KID'S MENU. And how's this for telling: I thought the best part of the meal was the free bread fresh from the oven with garlic butter slathered across the top. Otherwise, my French onion soup was fine, but didn't transcend the frozen soup available at Trader Joe's and Costco. And my filet mignon was charred, dry (I ordered it medium), and tasteless. To add insult to injury, it came with something that tasted like BARBECUE sauce. Are you fucking kidding me? I mean, I'm not a particularly classy guy, but I've never had KC MOTHERFUCKING MASTERPIECE with a FILET. Oh and when the waiter asked my Father how his Kobe beef meatloaf (WTF?!?) tasted, he said "meh -- mine is bettah." But hey the nephews loved THEIR fettucine alfredo and chicken strips, so WOO!! Kincaid's! Two stars.

Service was great, has a very good kids menu with lots of options, includes a large sundae for a finisher. I had the Miso butterfish, and it was excellent, my only complaint was the accompanying rice, which tasted heavily of seaweed. It was two weeks ago, and I don't really remember much about it though, but I do remember being impressed while we were there, and having no complaints.

They have a really good happy hour with 1/2 off pupu's. Also we ate diner here once but we usually just go for the happy hour, the calamari is good, along with the sweet potato fries, and the beef sliders!! Plus the drinks are pretty good

Went to Kincaids yesterday for Administrative Professionals Day and at first i wasn't too stoked about it. I've been there only 1 time before for a bridal shower and the food was just blah. So i researched the menu online ahead of time so that i would know what to order. At first i was just going to go with a simple soup and salad combo but when we arrived there i was caught off-guard with their daily specials. I saw the specials menu and i was going to stick with my soup and salad until the waitress told us of another special that wasn't on the menu. It was a macadamina nut crusted stuffed mahimahi with spinach and lobster that came with asparagus and garlic mashed. I wasn't feeling the garlic mash because it was just lunch and i didn't want to go over board so i asked for extra veggies. The other 2 co-workers who were with me ordered the fish and chips. When our meals arrived i was surprised at how good mine was. And as i dug into it i was very happy with the decision i made. Everything was really good...a few parts of the fish were a little fishy but overall i really enjoyed what i ordered. And the coworkers i was with really enjoyed their fish and chips. I must say though the best part of the meal was definitely dessert. I ordered the chocolate torte...very similar to a chocolate souffle but the middle is hollowed out and there is a fudgey goodness but no cake covering it only surrounding the fudge. It was accompanied by fresh strawberries and a small...small...small scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. It was perfect just the right amount of everything for dessert with out over indulging. Only one of my coworkers ordered dessert he got a few scoops of vanilla bean and was very satisfied. I must say that my overall experience here was actually better than I expected. And i would probably go back and dine there again.

Haven't been to Kincaid's in awhile but decided to have dinner there and use the buy 1 get 1 free coupon plus we had a gift card from Christmas. I'm a big fan of the word "free". We were seated promptly at our reservation time and got a window seat looking out to the harbor. Waitress was attentive and explained the menu and got our order going. The bread that they bring to your table already has the butter on top so if you don't eat it right away it may start melting. We started with a French onion soup and chop salad. Both were good and actually filling. Wife had a seafood pasta dish and I had the prime rib. On the menu it states slow roasted on a bed of rock salt. Hmm, sounds interesting. To my surprise it was GREAT! I must say one of the best prime rib I've eaten. It had so much flavor that you didn't even need the dipping sauce that comes with it. The seafood pasta wasn't anything to rave about. 3 stars for the prime rib and 1 star for the service. If you enjoy a good prime rib dinner then you should give this place a try....

Kincaids has great food, but poor, poor service. The past 2 times I went to Kincaids was during lunch. It took FOREVER for our food to arrive and a really long time for the check. When I know I can waste 2 1/2 hours for lunch, I go here just for the food, NOT the terrible service. Dinner time has better service...

Love their happy hour!! Food and drinks are yummy! Their baked brie is my favorite!!!! I've been there several times, but wish their service was a bit more consistent. I've gotten fantastic service when it's crazy busy, then awful service when there's only a few tables seated?

Had my pre-marathon dinner here. Probably didn't have enough carbs, but it was a great meal. I had crusted ahi, crab cakes, and some pear warm-bread pudding. My waitress was awesome... always keeping my water glass fill and asking me about the marathon. She seemed more excited about the race than I was.

What a rip off! The Prime rib w/ shrimp & scallops was terrible! (the "scallop" was a tiny sliver and only 1 small shrimp) the prime rib was so dry! The Lychee Martini was awful very dry! Our table was dirty with dried up chocalalte on it.... Omg no more .. this place is off our list for good! :(

Greatest happy hour in the area. surprising ocean views, great happy hour selection, and most importantly the happy hour food menu is healthy and really good. it would be nicer to have a larger selection on the food and drinks, but honestly it is first class service in a town lacking in service. I highly recommend this place

Just had Easter brunch @ this restaurant & I had their Steak & Eggs. It was not really good. First of all, their scrambled eggs took me back to elementary school when they served powered scrambled eggs. Yes, it was definitely powdered. Next, the steak was to rare for me. And finally, that meal was not worth $25. Especially not for fake eggs. Come on Kinkaids, you can do better than that. Serve real eggs next time, it's Easter!!! Other than that, you should stick to your regular menu.

Always a treat. Good food, good service. My only suggestion is to make the mango pork ribs a regular item and not just an occasional special.

This place is pretty good. We took some friends here to thank them for letting us stay at their lovely home. They have complimentary garlicy bread to start off dinner. We tried the prime rib, scallops, seafood linguine, crab cakes, and opah. Everything was terrific. For dessert we got pear bread pudding and cream brulee, both were huge portions and tasted great!

I've been here twice in the last month. The homemade, just-fried potato chips keep calling my name. At lunch, the kobe hotdog was a nice surprise. The service was very good and helpful. The dinner on a Saturday night was the highlight of the month. Tasty garlic bread sustained my self-declared famished son until the wonderfully rich and creamy crab and artichoke heart dip arrived. Real crab makes this a treat that's hard to beat. The children's menu is fabulous. For $7 my son enjoyed a strawberry lemonade, pasta in cream sauce, sliced oranges, homemade potato chips (they graciously substituted his starch) and a very large ice cream sundae with fantastic vanilla ice cream. They were fantastically flexible in substituting an asagio crusted preparation for the opakapaka I ordered. They also accommodated my husband's request to have his fish grilled dry instead of in the rich preparation listed on the menu. The vegetables on the side of each dish were perfectly prepared and very tasty. The silky mashed potatoes were SO GOOD, I would have eaten them instead of dessert if I had to make a choice. The portions were generous and we ended up taking some food home. When we opened up our take out container we discovered the fantastic waitress had slipped in some extra potato chips for our son! We'll be back often. We love a restaurant that is flexible to our wishes and makes dining with our son so pleasant!

This is the place for herb/salt crusted prime rib. Several years ago we tried the copper river salmon dinner and it was one of the few dinners I had where I left hungry. So we stayed away until one year my gf signup on the Kincaid website and received a free dinner for her birthday. We had the prime rib back then and have been back several times just for the prime rib. It's served on a plate surrounded with au jus. Took home half our prime rib with au jus for dinner at home the next night. Service was excellent, parking plentiful,

Maybe I'm a sucker for loud and crowded restaurants like Kincaids---like a good Chinese restaurant. Loved the atmosphere and the location. The food was intoxicating along with the liquor! My prime rib was great and super tender while I got to try some of my friend's plates and the chicken dijon and the seafood etouffe was delicious! Service was great! Overall, Kincaid's does not disappoint. Been to other locations (Redondo Beach, Phoenix, and Burlingame) and the food is always great! However, being from Hawaii, Kincaid's at Ala Moana is special!

This place USED to be good. I remember when they had burgers galore and many other great menu items. Not sure what they're thinking now, trying to cater to people that enjoy paying copious amounts of money for very little. I guess times are hard but it's still a ripoff. Portions are tiny. Service is GOOD Extremely expensive Limited burger menu WILL NOT eat here again unless it's free and even then, I don't think I'd go.

Atmosphere: LUNCH: Relaxing, hardly any crowds. FOOD: - stuffed chicken breasts over vegetable pilaf with steamed vegetables (snow peas, carrots, broccoli): wonderfully moist chicken breasts stuffed with spinach and feta! Pilaf was a little soggy with excess creamy pooling at the bottom of my plate. overall: ok. - Fish Tacos: Lovely! Far better than Wahoos or tios. Three breaded and deep fried tacos on a grilled corn tortilla, comes with a side of extra-limey guacamole! If you want simple, this is the way to go. - Pear and Pecan Salad with Maple Vinegrette: To die for! I must order this each time with its silky pears, candied pecans and sweet (but not over powering)mapley vinegrette! - Sweet Potato Fries: Artery clogging goodness! Perfectly crisp outer shell with an almost mashed potato texture-melt in your mouth-inner, its a winner! Sweet with a side of ketchup and house sauce! The best sweet potato fries I've tried. MANGO MOJITO: Sweet and tangy mago puree blended with soda and a handful of mint leaves= thirst quenching goodness. Order these, look out over the harbor and ENJOY! ADDITION: Another visit to Kincaid's marvelous as usual. LUNCH: French Onion Soup: Very pricey for a little bowl of soup-but worth every penny. Steaming beefy broth with a handful of caramalized onions along with soaked french bread chunks, covered in a melty cheese crust and topped with fresh green onions. Explosion of flavor in your mouth! Beer Battered Fish and Chips: The batter was fragrant with beer and had a light crunch from the panko bread crumbs. Chose the sweet potato fries as the chips-the best way to go. Comes with a bottle of Malt Vinegar! Yum.

I've always enjoyed Kincaid's and that's partly why I brought my date here this past weekend. Service was excellent as always but my dish was dismal. I ordered the Pan Seared Shellfish Fettuccine. The shrimp in the dish was overcooked and dry and the scallops a tad bit undercooked and didn't have that nice sear. I could have honestly forgiven both of those faux pas if not for the state of the pasta. The pasta was completely overcooked and dry. I'm not sure if it was sitting on a warmer for too long or waiting in the pass for too long before being brought out, but it was not good at all and I did not get more than 4 bites out of it. In fact, it was so dry that I had a hard time even tossing the sauce over it to try to soften it up. My date's dish was fine and the apps were good so I didn't mention much to the wait staff. (My fault I'll admit). But for $85 for two, you would think that you could get something of better quality.

This was my first time back to Kincaid's in about 3 years. I had the Grilled Chicken Club with Sweet Potato Fries. The sandwich was okay . . . .lots of mayo and my chicken was about 1/2 the size of my bread but the sweet potato fries were delish! Although our server was a little slow considering that the restaurant was not busy . . . I'd definitely go back for the sweet potato fries at least!

Ambiance: Nice views outside if you happen to be sitting in the right spot Cleanliness: Seemed ok Service: We didn't experience rude service like some other Yelpers commented Wait time: Can be fast; can be extremely slow (over 1 hour one time) Quality of food: For a nice looking place, I expect the quality of the food to be better than it was Quality control: Hit-and-miss Overall value: The quality of some items doesn't justify the price. For example, I had better teriyaki beef and rice at plate lunch places for half the price. As mentioned above this place is hit-and-miss. On a not-so-busy night our waitress came out several times to say that our food was coming out soon & asked if we wanted more drink refills. Total wait time: over 1 hour. The food: *Opah with berry salsa & vermouth butter & red jacket mashed potato - fish was juicy & sauce was flavorful. The fresh-made mashed potatoes were also a delight. *Seafood linguini with black tiger prawns, jumbo sea scallops, garlic cream & smoked gouda cheese - It was very flavorful, albeit very rich too. Gouda hardens up really quick so the whole plate of noodles coagulated. It was also obviously kept under warmers for a long time cause it was a little dry. *Brie with macadamia nut crust - seemed good in writing, but it looked like a big slab of baked fish. The macadamia nuts cooked on the outside didn't help with the taste. The cheese itself lacked the flavor we expected. It was basically a big overpriced slab of tasteless cheese. *Beef burgundy sauteed mushrooms - good & juicy. *Sweet potato fries with horse radish & hot sauces - wasn't bad, but nothing special either, though the sauces were tasty. *Bread with olive oil & basil, & also with crab dip - very tasty. We filled up on these since we waited so long for our main dishes. Conclusion: I recommend this place, but with caution.

Lets start with the good. French Onion soup isn't bad here. Unfortunately everything else is bad. The steak salad was served raw. Service was bad and almost hostile. At one time Kincaids was almost worth the high prices, but now you basically walk out feeling ripped off.

So good Ive been their twice in a month. Its pricey but good. I work for a store in ward center so have always wanted to try it. The first time I had the Opah and it was so good. I had a side salad both times and they were both fresh and good. I then had another fish the second time served with white beans. It worked and was very filling. I tried different wines, they have a good selection. And I always end with berries and cream and a coffee. I like to eat good food and so I am sure It will be a regular on my list.

Taste buds happy, wallet, not so much... The food was tasty as usual, especially the crab and artichoke appetizer, although entree portions are small. This time I ordered the Crab Cake and Scallops entree. It was cooked to perfection and accompanied with a delicious sauce, but I didn't think 1 crab cake and 2 scallops were worth $38. Atmosphere is nice, especially with the view of the harbor. Service was well timed and very friendly. Didn't enjoy the new "a la carte" menu since prices for the entree have remained the same, this time I had to pay for my starch!

My man & I was having date day yesterday and decided on Kincaid's, we were both very excited about eating there since its been a while. When we first got there the hostess looked at us with disgust!! WTF!! Then she turned and turned back to us and i said for two please..not hello goodafternoon of F OFF!!! So RUDE!!!!!! We got to our seats and our server was nice..we ordered the Seafood Louie salad w/med rare salmon and baby shrimp..sounds so go but for $18.00 it wasnt worth it!! The portions was very small..she did split it for us but still needs more lettuce and seafood. (I can make a better seafood louie salad by going to COSTCO). then we ordered the Top sirlon no starch and grilled veggies..guess what the steak was tiny..not so good we left HUNGRY!!! Then the waitress asked if we were done we said yes gave her our credit card and told her we need to go because we had a movie to catch and she left..seriously left for 10 min to another table..WTF!! I had to go to the bar ask for a manager and have her cash us out!! Hostess needs to get attitude change or STAY HOME!!! Not going back any time SOON!!!!

Overall a 3.5. Came here for a birthday lunch with my friend and we got seated by the window so that was nice. The waitress was kind of slow to come so when she finally did we ordered the hot crab and artichoke dip for an app and for entrees I got the steak with mashed potatoes and my friend got the bacon burger with sweet potato fries for a $1 more. Out house bread came and that was pretty good, soft and fluffy and my friend said it reminded him like the taste of those keebler crackers haha. The dip also came fairly quickly and it came with slices of toasted bread, it was good but just a little too "mayonaisy" for my taste, esp seeing that pool of oil at the bottom of the dish bleh. Our dishes came out pretty quickly too, my steak was seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium and my mashed potatoes were good but tasted like they put way too much butter in there as it was yellow tinged instead of white. My friend said his burger was okay, and not really seasoned. For dessert we got the pear bread pudding and boy was that delicious, it was a big slice with a small dollop of ice cream, in which it could have used more. As for service the waitress wasn't really there and didnt even acknowledge us when she passed by to help the tables next to us and we were obviously done or needed water refills.

went there for happy hour tonight and it was pretty good. $4 for a glass of wine. Not the best wine, but for 4 bucks, I would do it. And half off pupu's. I ended up having the Kobe beef meatloaf mini burgers and they were pretty good. So yeah, after a long day's work, I'd defiantly recommend going here for the happy hour.

I've only been here once, but I don't plan on returning. The portions are small for the price. I ordered a Cesar salad and clam chowder. The salad was cute, but tasty and they use shaved Parmesan instead of the cheap bottled stuff. The chowder was okay, nothing to rave about. The bf had the sampler which consists of crab and artichoke dip, teriyaki tenderloins, and prawns. The regular price for the sampler is $29, but for happy hour we paid about half of that. The tenderloins come with a half scoop of rice, and there were only prawns. I'm not too sure if that's the happy hour or regular portions. In conclusion, food was okay, price is too high for the food.

I went here for a company luncheon. This being my first time I didn't know what to order. I decided to go with the Mushroom Burger and fries. I also ordered the rootbeer, which was a Thomas Kemper, meaning it was brewed just like beer...just no alcohol. The flavor was good and tasted how root beer should be. Back to the lunch. You're greeted with wonderful views of Kaka'ako which makes you feel like you're having lunch at the beach with the perks of AC. Our food came relatively fast and the service was spot on. My burger was cooked the way I ordered it but nothing special. Tasted just like a burger. I wasn't totally blown away with it but that could just be a method of my own doing. I saw people have the open faced crab sandwich and clam chowder. Both looked really good but I can't vouch for it since I didn't order that. I think the next time I come here I'll order something other than a burger and do a follow up review. All in all the price is what you'd expect for an upscale restaurant and the service was good.

This review is from a while ago so i won't hammer a way at too many forgotten details. I will say i ordered the special rib eye prepared two ways: bone-in and sliced thin. My wife ordered this 3 lobster combo. I would give the rib eye 1 star while my wife's 3 lobster combo probably closer to a 5 which is why this place gets 3 stars this time. The bone in rib-eye was not flavored with anything other than a piece of herb stuck to it on the side and to bottom it off - it was BURNT which made it quite bitter and probably carcinagenic (pleh). The cut up pieces of rib eye were tasty and cooked just right, however the bone-in featured menu piece of meat really ruined it for me. My wife's lobster was prepared as 3 courses. 1st as a nice and light salad with a delicious dressing that i can't quite remember. The 2nd course was a lobster bisque/soup which we both remember as being quite good and last of all as a grilled lobster tail and some sides which we both vaguely remembered as being quite good too. There you have it. I guess I should've stuck with the rock salt aged and roasted prime rib instead which is what they are known for.

I always give a restaurant two tries even if i wasn't impressed the first time just in case they were having a bad day. Sorely disappointed i wasted two meals on this place. Menu looks very classy. Descriptions use fancy words so obviously I expect fancy food, especially for the price. Nope, not at all. First off, lobster bisque was so foul tasting, I couldn't even eat it. $9.50 for a small bowl with about four tiny bits of lobster in it. Caesar salad next, for $8. There was literally a handful of lettuce in the salad. It was smaller than most side salads that come with the meal at other restaurants. Open-faced crab sandwich was somewhat ok tasting until I got to all the artichokes shoved in there. Most of them were so hard/stringy and completely inedible, I had to spit them out or risk choking. Lastly, the chophouse burger was one of the worst burgers I've ever eaten. McDonalds is better and that's sad. I added avocado and mushrooms to the burger which added $6, making the price $18 bucks!! And they batter and deep-fry their avocado! Avocado is one of my favorite foods and it just tasted sooo wrong. Overall, very pricey for lunch with food so bad I'd feel guilty feeding it to dog. And I very rarely have such a negative opinion of food, it has to be real bad for me to rant and rave like this. Avoid Kincaid's.

It's been a couple years, but I have eaten here several times during yearly trips to Hawaii. The reason why I've gone back to this restaurant, and still remember them is because of their amazing chicken sandwhich with brie. I'm not sure if they still serve it, but i hope they do. I'm usually not a big fan of chicken in sandwhiches because it can be very dry, but the brie keeps everything moist and adds great flavor. Their desserts were always different when I went, but also always good. I know there's a Kincaids in CA, but I have yet to go there. Maybe just being in hawaii makes all the food taste better :)
