Working in any fast food location is difficult, I get that. But the manager here who walks around yelling at, belittling and degrading her employees needs to really take this into consideration. From a customers perspective, I could not help but feel for the employees as they were being denigrated, insulted and called incompetent loud enough to hear from the drive through window. I could also see the shame and frustration in their eyes as they tried to muster up a smile and hand me my order. And it was in that moment that I wondered if there was any "special ingredients" that someone may have accidentally added out of hurt. Yo Jack, you may need to re-train this manager on her people skills. Who treats people like crap when they are serving food? Doesn't she realize that crappy energy marinates the food? You ever try eating curly-fries while someone is being treated like poop? It really leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Seriously.

Most of the time I come here, I don't really have any major problems. Sometimes the sourdough jack can be dry & bland or the fries are old. But last night I'd had enough. I ordered the #9 (Homestyle ranch chicken club) with a fruit punch, regular fries & 2 buttermilk sauce. I'd just gotten off a crazy-busy shift at work, hadn't eaten all day & when I got home was looking forward to my delicious burger & fries smothered in sauce. Instead, there was NO BUTTERMILK in my bag & the chicken in my burger was disgusting! It was so dry & hard. It tasted like it'd been fried, sat out all day & then dunked back in the frier & served. I will stick to the JITB on King St. from now on.

This restaurant needs to really make sure that the order I received was completely incorrect. They forgot to put the teriyaki sauce on the burger and I had to check. Usually this location is pretty good about substitutions for ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard. Also. I hope they will check the automated paper towel machine and toilet paper. Other than that, I was pleased that they suggested getting the combo for the ultimate cheeseburger, which was buy 1 get on 1 free.

This is the Jack in the Box I've been coming to since it was built (used to be a service station). Anyway, I've never had any problems with my orders until recently. A couple weeks ago I made a 5 am run through the drive thru. I ordered 2 breakfast jacks. When I get home I find 2 chicken sandwiches. Kinda disappointing, but it is what it is. A few days ago I make a late night drive thru and order the late night munchie meal. When I open the box at home the 2 tacos are missing. Again, not worth getting upset about. This evening I figure I'll go inside and order at the counter so I can be sure I get the right burgers. One of the burgers was the new portobello mushroom buttery Jack burger that comes w/ grilled onions. When I get the order I look in the bag and lo and behold there it is. Winner! I get home and open the box. The burger looks really small. I take off the top bun and there's no mushrooms or onions. I even look under the meat patty. Nothing. I figure this time I'll call the restaurant. Erica answers the phone and is very nice. She said I can come back and just give my name and I can get another burger. Great! Not the end of the story. So, I start to eat the burger and about 2 bites in I find a few small diced pieces of mushroom. They were under the cheese! I mean they were such little pieces that you couldn't even tell they were hidden under the cheese! I don't know if this is how headquarters intended their burger to be sold or if there is something wrong with this particular location. I won't be going back to Jack in the Box. I give up, I'm done. Anybody looking for a good fast food mushroom burger? Skip Jack in the Box and head over to McDonald's for their Steakhouse mushroom and grilled onion burger. They actually give you mushrooms and onions you can see!

The food is pretty good considering the price. It is the best meal for broke ass college students like me. The drive thru people are normally pretty nice but a fee times they were short staffed or something but the drive thru line was really long and they took forever getting our food. The people behind us were pissed because they thought we ordered a ton of food but it was because they didn't have enough workers. But that's not really their fault.

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a fast food restaurant. I came to only order a mango smoothie at 11pm on Friday night. The inside dining was already locked so I had to wait behind 5 cars in the drive thru. The staff was so slow I was in line for 20 minutes before reaching the window. When I got to the window they handed me a strawberry smoothie instead of the mango one I had ordered. I had to wait for them to re make the correct one. Once I received my smoothie is was completely watery and tasted like ice. I then had to park and walk to the drive thru window to ask for my money back. I will NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN!

I like this Kapahulu Jack In The Box. Before, they had a window/manager employee named Ella and she was awesome, when she tended the window, there was no such thing as a long line backed up to the road, she kept everything rolling like a pro. Then, after many years, Ella left or something, whenever we asked no one would answer us except to say, "yea, she doesn't work here anymore". That was the end to great, efficient service. But, the food here is still good when comparing to fast food joints. I always have the cheeseburger or the jumbo jack with cheese or a breakfast item and always a side of tacos and iced mocha coffee, which is every bit as good as any "coffee shop". The hub use to get the fish sandwich but they canceled it and so he just orders tacos and breakfast foods. We have, collectively tried almost everything on the menu, including the new items as they are introduced, but going back to the simple jumbo jack and tacos, breakfast foods, plus the coffees are always proven winners. And, when I need a small sweet, the chocolate cake hits the spot.

I can't help myself sometimes. I want my food, and I want it FAST. I don't care if it's bad for me, or if it's part of a huge conglomerate or not local or whatever... I'm HUNGRY. And quite possibly drunk. On the way home during a stumble, I have two options on Kapahulu Blvd. Zippy's and Jack in the Box. Ok, three if you count Safeway, but I would end up cracking out on Pop-tarts if given that choice. I dizzily make my way in and order a Jumbo Jack combo with curly fries and a side of ranch, which I was charged extra for. A few minutes later, I barge into my unfurnished apartment (I have a good reason for this), throw everything on the ground and tear apart the brown paper bag withholding the succulent greasiness awaiting me. Inside? An Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich, regular fries, and instead of ranch, ketchup. Was the Jack employee drunk too? I still ate it anyways as it satisfied my hunger, which was enough to send me straight to sleepyland thereafter. Do they always eff up this bad? No, which is why they avoided 1 star. But you know when you have your heart set on something only to be greatly disappointed moments later (looking at you mom and dad...christmas 1988?? Yes, I still remember). Absolutely horrible customer service and terrible food quality. I have been coming to this jack in the box for many years and there was once a time when the ultimate cheeseburger was ultimate and the bacon cheddar potato wedges were delicious. It has TOTALLY gone down hill not to mention completely overridden by rude condescending micronesians with horrible customer service. I am not a racist in fact I think many micronesians are friendly and I like quite a few of them but the girl "Daileen" who was in charge the night before was incompetent and rude and totally unsuited for a customer service position. She made my bacon cheddar potato wedges with nacho cheese instead of cheddar....after I ate a few I decided it was unacceptable and when I kindly, calmly and respectfully asked to get an EXCHANGE with properly made wedges (not even a refund!!) she got defensive, rude, and accusingly LECTURED ME that I shouldnt have eaten them if I wanted an exhange!! Imagine someone else totally screwing up then making YOU the one to blame!! I felt like she was persecuting me as if I was trying to get free food!!! This is NOT the way I expect to be treated as a paying customer especially considering the good faith I just demonstrated by INSISTING she take my money when I first paid because she thought I had already paid and kept pushing the money away!! I went out of my way to be honest and this is the result?!? Worst of all was that the whole commotion drew the attention of an ice-head bully in some beat up blue truck with a rack (after all it was midnight in Kapahulu) who thought I was harassing the "poor girls" and actually came into the store to bully me around thinking he was the "hero". For the love of God mind your own business!! All I wanted was my god damn potato wedges!!!!!!! And I sure as hell don't want to go to jail just to teach some overaged punk a lesson!!!! Morale of the story: NEVER come here, you WILL regret it. I am in the process of filing formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau as well as the owner of the franchise as well as filing a restraining order with the police against the ice-head. This is totally unacceptable and has left me with a very bitter taste. I am sick to my stomach from eating here!!!!!

I should have stopped by here earlier! They actually have adequate parking. The a/c works and they have decent prices on their food. Yeah... yeah... I know this is a fast food restaurant. But, this is one is the best one on Kapahulu. Want cheap fastfood? Want a comfortable place to sit and eat? Want to be able to park without having to worry about being towed? This is the place to come when you are on Kapahulu.

Cashier held onto my debit card when I tried to retrieve it from her. Then she let it go and it fell to the ground. I could not open my truck door so I had to angle the truck to reach down and picked up the card. Them I ran over the shrubs in the planter cause I couldn't back up to straighten..... Damn......

Pretty good location on Kapahulu conveniently located right around by many other places. Open all day everyday is awesome. Some of my favorite Jack in the Box foods are the monster tacos, Jumbo Jack, Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger, Chicken sandwich, Sourdough Jack, and Breakfast jack. The restaurant itself is alright. There are decent table and seating area. The staff and customer service is aight. Restroom is aight. Drive-thru is aight. They have their own soft drink dispensers which is always a plus for any fast food joint because you know what that means, re-fills all day everyday. Jack in the Box always has lots of stuff on the menu. The desserts such as the shakes are aight. I think they need more on the dessert menu like pies and stuff. Yelp 365 Challenge #194/365

Went to drive thru for lunch. Ordered the sourdough jack combo with curly fries both were not hot and a spicy chicken sandwich that was over cooked and not hot. They charge 24 cents for buttermilk now. This used to be my go to place after surfing, I will have to find another lunch place.

Man....going through a drive-thru means that I dont intend to get out of my car. I would expect that I get everything I need with my order. The order was simple, One chicken sandwich and 1 medium soda. Both items were for my son who wanted a snack before we went to Kapiolani Park. No napkins....and no straw. How do you expect a 5 year old to drink from the cup. And theres NO WAY that im going to let him try and pry the top open to drink! Had to give this location 2 stars for this visit because like it says, "Meh. I've experienced better."

This place can't be trusted for food safety. Second JIB in less then a week that I visited in which returned food was placed back in the warmer instead of thrown out. At this JIB - Kapahulu, the manager (women in a red JIB shirt) put the returned food on the warmer, instead of throwing it away. She should know better and practice food safety. The other JIB that put food returned by a customer back in the food warmer is located on King and Pi`ikoi Streets. I sent a complaint to JIB customer service to inform them that it happened again. Jack In The Box Hawai`i does NOT practice food safety.

If you have a hankering for bar food without going to the bar, visit Jack in the Box. Beware, now you have to pay for buttermilk sauce to go with your curly fries. Also, expect to wait in line at this location's drive-through; it's often packed with cars. Items I think are awesome: 2 tacos meal ($3.50?!!!), CURLY FRIES, mozzerella sticks, side salad (about $1.70), french toast sticks, Dr. Pepper served here. Pretty good: jalepeno poppers, breakfast served 24 hours, onion rings, big salads for about $5.50.

I find it hilarious when people write reviews about fast food places expecting something different in the food. Seriously, come on, are you expecting to have a steak and lobster at these places? I haven't gone to a major fast food place that the food tasted different. I have, however, had differences in service. I felt it would be nice to write a review about the Kapahulu Jack in a Box Morning crew since I tend to get unusually great service here. I have been coming here for breakfast/lunch every Sunday for a couple of years. Not very often I am greeted with a big welcoming smile at a fast food chain and this place does it. There has been many different servers and they all do it. Amazing. I've worked at McDonald's and with all the stress of making good time and stupid customers, I didn't feel like giving a welcoming smile they they do here all the time. The workers are helpful and try their best to make good time. Yes, sometimes my order does take a while but I know Drive thru takes top priority but they usually finish my order in timely fashion. There rarely have made a mistake on an order and are always helpful to fix it if there is a mistake. The workers are always cleaning the tables and emptying the trash, even clearing the table for my family. My Grandmother is 97 years old and my Aunt is special needs and this place has always been accommodating to them. The restrooms are easy access for them and are usually decently clean. My Mom was a stickler on this so if it was dirty we wouldn't have come back. Jack food is Jack food. I'm not writing this review for that reason. Overall I have a very pleasant experience every time I come here in the mornings.

I went to school down the street and I have my favorite menu items: Milkshakes (esp. oreo) Curly Fries Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger Side Salad Breakfast Jack And the 99cent menu I wish there were some on the East Coast. Worst of all was that the whole commotion drew the attention of an ice-head bully in some beat up blue truck with a rack (after all it was midnight in Kapahulu) who thought I was harassing the "poor girls" and actually came into the store to bully me around thinking he was the "hero". For the love of God mind your own business!! All I wanted was my god damn potato wedges!!!!!!! And I sure as hell don't want to go to jail just to teach some overaged punk a lesson!!!! Morale of the story: NEVER come here, you WILL regret it. I am in the process of filing formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau as well as the owner of the franchise as well as filing a restraining order with the police against the ice-head. This is totally unacceptable and has left me with a very bitter taste. I am sick to my stomach from eating here!!!!!

I should have stopped by here earlier! They actually have adequate parking. The a/c works and they have decent prices on their food. Yeah... yeah... I know this is a fast food restaurant. But, this is one is the best one on Kapahulu. Want cheap fastfood? Want a comfortable place to sit and eat? Want to be able to park without having to worry about being towed? This is the place to come when you are on Kapahulu.

Cashier held onto my debit card when I tried to retrieve it from her. Then she let it go and it fell to the ground. I could not open my truck door so I had to angle the truck to reach down and picked up the card. Them I ran over the shrubs in the planter cause I couldn't back up to straighten..... Damn......

Pretty good location on Kapahulu conveniently located right around by many other places. Open all day everyday is awesome. Some of my favorite Jack in the Box foods are the monster tacos, Jumbo Jack, Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger, Chicken sandwich, Sourdough Jack, and Breakfast jack. The restaurant itself is alright. There are decent table and seating area. The staff and customer service is aight. Restroom is aight. Drive-thru is aight. They have their own soft drink dispensers which is always a plus for any fast food joint because you know what that means, re-fills all day everyday. Jack in the Box always has lots of stuff on the menu. The desserts such as the shakes are aight. I think they need more on the dessert menu like pies and stuff. Yelp 365 Challenge #194/365

The food is good as it should be but the waimanalo jack in the always seem to screw up my order every other time I go there. I call to let them know my order is wrong, they ask if I'm coming back, I live in Hawaii Kai I'm not about to drive back there, I tell them I'm not coming bak to get my food and they just hang up on me.

Cold sour dough jack sandwich. Hard like a hockey puck. (Though I have not actually bitten a real hockey puck) Got a replacement one, but that wasn't very good either.

Went to drive thru for lunch. Ordered the sourdough jack combo with curly fries both were not hot and a spicy chicken sandwich that was over cooked and not hot. They charge 24 cents for buttermilk now. This used to be my go to place after surfing, I will have to find another lunch place.

Man....going through a drive-thru means that I dont intend to get out of my car. I would expect that I get everything I need with my order. The order was simple, One chicken sandwich and 1 medium soda. Both items were for my son who wanted a snack before we went to Kapiolani Park. No napkins....and no straw. How do you expect a 5 year old to drink from the cup. And theres NO WAY that im going to let him try and pry the top open to drink! Had to give this location 2 stars for this visit because like it says, "Meh. I've experienced better."

This place can't be trusted for food safety. Second JIB in less then a week that I visited in which returned food was placed back in the warmer instead of thrown out. At this JIB - Kapahulu, the manager (women in a red JIB shirt) put the returned food on the warmer, instead of throwing it away. She should know better and practice food safety. The other JIB that put food returned by a customer back in the food warmer is located on King and Pi`ikoi Streets. I sent a complaint to JIB customer service to inform them that it happened again. Jack In The Box Hawai`i does NOT practice food safety.

If you have a hankering for bar food without going to the bar, visit Jack in the Box. Beware, now you have to pay for buttermilk sauce to go with your curly fries. Also, expect to wait in line at this location's drive-through; it's often packed with cars. Items I think are awesome: 2 tacos meal ($3.50?!!!), CURLY FRIES, mozzerella sticks, side salad (about $1.70), french toast sticks, Dr. Pepper served here. Pretty good: jalepeno poppers, breakfast served 24 hours, onion rings, big salads for about $5.50.

I find it hilarious when people write reviews about fast food places expecting something different in the food. Seriously, come on, are you expecting to have a steak and lobster at these places? I haven't gone to a major fast food place that the food tasted different. I have, however, had differences in service. I felt it would be nice to write a review about the Kapahulu Jack in a Box Morning crew since I tend to get unusually great service here. I have been coming here for breakfast/lunch every Sunday for a couple of years. Not very often I am greeted with a big welcoming smile at a fast food chain and this place does it. There has been many different servers and they all do it. Amazing. I've worked at McDonald's and with all the stress of making good time and stupid customers, I didn't feel like giving a welcoming smile they they do here all the time. The workers are helpful and try their best to make good time. Yes, sometimes my order does take a while but I know Drive thru takes top priority but they usually finish my order in timely fashion. There rarely have made a mistake on an order and are always helpful to fix it if there is a mistake. The workers are always cleaning the tables and emptying the trash, even clearing the table for my family. My Grandmother is 97 years old and my Aunt is special needs and this place has always been accommodating to them. The restrooms are easy access for them and are usually decently clean. My Mom was a stickler on this so if it was dirty we wouldn't have come back. Jack food is Jack food. I'm not writing this review for that reason. Overall I have a very pleasant experience every time I come here in the mornings.

I always get served really quickly here... I dunno if its cause I'm usually in uniform or what, but thats just how it is. I just really really don't like the parking lot... Theres something off about it... maybe its the double length of the lanes? Anyway, its fast food and they're quick about it. Can't go wrong eh?

My favorite fast food place! I went to school down the street and I have my favorite menu items: Milkshakes (esp. oreo) Curly Fries Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger Side Salad Breakfast Jack And the 99cent menu I wish there were some on the East Coast. I always make sure to go back and get a milkshake when I'm home.
