This review isn't so much for this specific store as it is for their cookies (although it was really convenient and the workers were great). No lie - if you've never tried these babies, you really need to because DAMN are they addictive! Since I needed to bring back some souveniors for the fam, I decided to drop into Honolulu Cookie Company after hearing about how good their stuff was. I initially worried about finding one of their shops when I landed, but I ended up finding them in Waikiki, Ala Moana, and the Hilton Hawaiian Village (this one). With free samples of every flavor they offer, you can easily get full snacking as you shop. However, if there is just one flavor to get, it's their most popular flavor - the chocolate dipped shortbread cookies. SO. GOOD. Honestly, I don't know how else to explain how good they were, or why you should try them, other than to say that they are SO. GOOD. Although the cookies aren't huge, they're not tiny either...and it's unlikely you'll end up stopping with just one (even if you could, you might not want to). So if you're worried about gorging yourself silly on these things, their bite sized Chocolate Chip Minis are just as delicious. Given that these are bite sized though, you may very well end up eating more of these than the regular cookies if you're not careful (but no one would blame you). If you aren't going to be going out to Hawaii anytime soon, you can also order the cookies online and have them shipped to you instead. It's a little pricey from what I hear, but it's nice that it's an option. Otherwise, make someone else bring them back for you. After all, they're a much tastier souvenior than macadamia nuts!

This is a long delayed review from a trip to Hawaii way long ago. This place gets at least a half-point up just for having awesome free samples. I shamelessly tried all the flavors. I'm all in favor of try before you buy and that way I don't end up disappointed about any of the flavors. These make great gifts to bring home for friends and family...and we definitely brought a box home for ourselves. The fruit flavored ones like guava and pineapple are just as yummy as the chocolatey ones...one of my favorites was guave dipped in chocolate. yumyum.

The staff was so very friendly here! No matter how hectic it became in the store, someone always greeted customers hello as soon as they walked in. Sampling was welcome here, and no matter how much people sampled, no one was made to feel like they went overboard. I really appreciated how one particular rep maintained a vigilant watch over a mother and daughter as they sampled a few selections and caught the little one, in her excitement, place the tongs in her mouth. The rep quickly explained to the mother that she and her child would have to step away so that she may switch out the contaminated tongs w/ a clean one! I found it soothing to know that the staff, at least this particular employee anyway, cared enough to maintain a high standard of cleanliness (at least while I was witnessing all of this unfurl!). Loved the quality of the shortbread cookies and the DARK chocolate they're dipped in! The cookies were crunchy, yet easily melted in my mouth; the cooked batter didn't feel heavy in my stomach (one fruit-filled cookie contains only 50 calories, and a chocolate-dipped one averages at around 90 calories!); and they weren't very sweet! Sampled all of the dark chocolate selections and loved them all, especially the Kona coffee, Coconut, and Lilikoi (aka passion fruit). Oh, my God, the lilikoi! How I wished I'd bought more than one Dark Chocolate Collection box! $14.95 plus tax buys 24 (4 pcs. each of 6 varieties) of these heavenly cookies... I'm going to have to ration them until I can figure out a way to supply my new-found Hawai'ian addiction! :))

OK this was one of those what the hell am i doing here moments!! We were walking to the trolley stop to get back to our hotel when all of a sudden my wife makes a right turn and we're in a Cookie store. Wow I think i just died and went to heaven. Now I'm thinking very expensive part of town, cookies hmm this can end very very badly IE BROKE. Surprisingly the cookies are very very good and not really expensive. Oh yeah be warned if you have a catchers mask, and chest guard it might help because you will get kneed, stepped on, pushed and elbowed. It's a small store and people will flock in with strollers shopping bags etc which means the fight is on to get the cookies. Worth it though

All their stores have free samples of all their cookies!!! Ahhhhhh! And this one is located right in the Hilton Hawaiian Village where I stayed so I got free cookies every night. Oh man. But of course I bought many a cookies for gifts and my waistline to bring back to LA. When I stayed here I got a free discount card from the customer service desk and every time I spent $25 here I got two free cookies in a little bag. YEH! They also have a punch card when you spend a specific amount you get a free box of cookies (not chocolate dipped but still free). My family and I were all over that.

Oh. My. God. These cookies are some of the best cookies on this planet. While my husband and I were in Honolulu for our honeymoon, we stopped in multiple Honolulu Cookie Company stores and ate many, many samples of these delicious cookies. I bought a huge sampler right before we left and am working through it close to 5 months later. Beware - If you sample, you will buy these awesome cookies.

  • Jason G.

You get to sample lots of different cookies, about 9 of the 14, along with the chocolate chip cookies. The service is good, friendly and helpful. What obviously makes this worth 5 stars are the cookies. My favorites are the white chocolate coconut, chocolate dipped, and the butter cookie.

This is a great place to find something for friends on the mainland (or anywhere else for that matter). They have a great selection of delicious shortbread cookies in different flavors, shapes and colors. Staff are always very friendly and helpful and have no problem providing recommendations when you need some ideas on what to get. You'll be sure to be a hit with the people you give the cookies to!

these cookies are amazing! whenever we have family come from Hawaii, I beg for these and eat one any time I want something special. don't be fooled by the simplicity - they are too good.

It says a lot when you come back to the mainland from Oahu, and one of the very first things you do is order two boxes of their amazing CHOCOLATE-DIPPED MACADAMIA cookies online....because whatever we had purchased is already gone. Who cares about the $15 delivery charge...and who cares if I'm mildly allergic to both chocolate and nuts. Life's too short not to take advantage of these fine, yummy delicacies...RIGHT?! They have different flavors...mango, kona coffee, butter, pineapple...and you can sample them at the store...as much as you like. Lastly, they make perfect gifts. They are beautifully packaged (in boxes or baskets) and guaranteed to be appreciated. You can always test it on me.

My youngest turned 6 while we were over here, and the hotel left her some cookies from the Honolulu Cookie company. Of course she liked them because they were dipped in chocolate. Stopped inside one of their stores in the Hilton Hawaiian Village. All of their cookies are in the shaped of little pineapples, and are individually wrapped. They have prepackaged gift boxes, or you can mix your own. They have butter macadamia, kona coffee, chocolate dipped lilikoi, chocolate macadamia, dark chocolate macadamia, pineapple macadamia, dark chocolate kona coffee, white chocolate kona coffee, liliko mango, dark triple chocolate macadamia, mango macadamia, triple macadamia, and chocolate chip mini bites. They have samples of these flavors, and you can try them all. There's a water dispenser next to the samples, and saw a sign saying "Cups are ONLY for water". yelp.com/biz_photos/kUsK… Well guess they figured us out! Can't use them to fill up on samples!

Different flavored shortbread cookies.... Oooh HCC, you sneaky little devils putting free samples near the door to lure suckers like me in. As soon as we walked in the sales girl greeted us and led the way to the free containers of cookies to try. My ears heard free and that was it.... Now I'm not really into shortbread cookies so I was already planning to just have my free samples and walk out. But I fell for the lilikoi mango, mango macadamia, and the dark chocolate lilikoi. Darn it!!!! So yummy and tasting nothing like anything I've had before. Ended up walking away with a box. The free samples are really helpful so you can decide which cookies you want. There's a lot of premade mix packs already put together but I didn't care for some of them so didn't want these. So it's awesome you can put together your own box with the cookies of your choice, which is what I did. This was about 7 or 8 bucks for 10 cookies. I guess it's kinda crazy to pay over a buck for one little cookie, but whatever. I was on my vacay.... Don't worry, you can go online and order these babies to be shipped to you if you don't live in Hawaii :-)

  • Tricia Z.

Yummy! I loved swinging in for free samples all the time, the staff didn't care at all. I almost took free samples every time I walked by! At the end of my trip I bought some boxes of cookies as take home presents and they were a great hit. The prices were reasonable for gourmet cookies and the staff always helpful. Would definitely do the same thing on another trip to Hawaii.

  • Michelle T.

These cookies are such a great gift idea! They have nice packaging too. You don't even have to try too hard to think of a great gift from Hawaii. It was so delicious I even bought some to give to my clients back in California. My favorite ones were the coconut cookies dipped in white chocolate. YUM! They are so generous too because you get to sample the cookies!

    (5)
  • C R.

So yummy!!! A bit overpriced but nonetheless, great tasting. The great thing is that they have sampling stations to sample the variety of cookies they offer before you buy. The best ones are the chocolate chip macadamia, chocolate dipped macadamia, and white chocolate dipped macadamia nut. The prices depend on the quantity, of course, but range from $3-30. You can get a decent sized package for about $5.

Best tasting shortbread cookies! My family & I loved them & will be our new thing to ask for instead of chocolate covered macadamias when friends & family visit HI. :)

This place is going to be trouble. and it's probably a good thing that I'm writing this at relative super early in the morning, so if people on FB are tracking my reviews, it might be buried under other people's updates. went in... tried some samples... got a menu. We'll see how long it will be into our trip before we actually go down and buy stuff... hopefully a while, and only for gifts as the shortbread cookies are incredibly good and that's not a good sign for the diet. Yes... the cookies are good, and the choc on top of it is even better. They aren't cheap, but you'll forget about that after sampling... this place is really going to be trouble ;)

  • Richard D.

I can actually pad the number of Yelp reviews by just copying and pasting my review for the HCC for all of the locations, but I won't. I've actually eaten the free cookies at this place. When my boo and I visited Honolulu, her friend told us about a cookie place that always has free samples. We walked around quite a bit and had trouble finding these places. Once we found one, it was all downhill from there. We turned in to the cookie monsters. "Free cookie samples, hmm, I don't think I've had that shortbread with white choc. Hmm, I think I like the dark choc better. On second thought, I think I like the pineapple one instead..." This would continue on and on until we had our fill. If you are in the area, steer clear of the peddlers on the strip trying to sell you timeshares and tours, and just come to the HCC where they take your money one cookie at a time.

  • Stormforger D.

Stopped in on my recent trip to Oahu. While my family was looking around in the store I noticed that there was a whole section devoted to sampling all of the cookies! That really helped me to decide to purchase more than I would have. The staff was friendly and all of our friends and family loved the cookies we took home as gifts.

    (4)
  • Jay K.

Cookie Monster, I now understand everything..... Simply the best shortbread cookie. Truth be told, I'm not a big cookie guy. However, I got my first taste of HCC as a gift and I was hooked. The only thing that stops me is the price, factor in the shipping and it's $$. It's gourmet, worth the cost though. So, it's a special occasion treat to myself or to give as a gift. When I visit Hawaii, I make it a point to bring some home for everyone. The have stores in all the major locations on the island, give it a try!

I hadn't been to Hawaii in about 6 years, but when a coworker came back from his vacation to Hawaii, he brought a couple variety boxes back to share amongst all of us, and then I knew this was a place I just had to check out when I was there! Two weeks later, and I was on the look-out for the Honolulu Cookie Company. Lucky for me, these were all over the place! And again, lucky for me (but bad for my diet), they give out free samples and encourage you to try all their delicious flavors! It was so hard to resist that every time I passed by the store, I had to go in and sample one or two. This company definitely has a solid marketing strategy. Not only do they have free samples (and a water station in case you're thirsty), but they also have little ovens to bake their shortbread cookies throughout the day, producing a mouth-watering aroma that just radiates from the store and catches anyone within a five foot radius. The cookies are delicious (my favorite being the chocolate covered lilikoi) and the employees are super helpful and friendly. At all the stores I visited, they were helpful, but not overbearing and pressuring you to purchase their products. If you're in Hawaii, definitely pick some up as souvenirs to bring back for friends and family (or to savor yourselves!). Shipping is ridiculous, so it's best to just make some room in your suitcase and haul it back with you on the plane.

I'm a cookie monster & I LOVE this place. I have nothing negative to say about it, if you can't buy it directly in person go to the site and order some. mm cookies.

I am definitely a cookie fiend, so I was quite surprised, happy, joyful when I saw the Honolulu Cookie Company while we were walking around the Hilton Hawaiian Village. When we walked into the store we were greeted by a very friendly worker. She pointed out a cool sample bin full of all of their wonderful cookie styles and suggested we try a few. I have to say, I really wasn't expecting the selection before me, since there were over 16 types of cookies from which to choose. Wow! After sampling a few types, we decided on the coconut sampler. I am not a huge coconut fan, but these cookies are that wonderful. You can taste the quality ingredients in every bite. I especially liked the white chocolate covered creation. The cookies aren't cheap, but they won't break your bank either. They are definitely worth their price. The good news is they have on-line ordering available, so if you crave these delicious treats, you can get them whenever you want. They are some of the freshest shortbread cookies I've ever tasted. Try one for yourself.

Love the cookies here I always go and grab some before heading back home for myself and friends. Love the regular chocolate chip shortbread, but the individually wrapped ones are great too. They also have a really nice sampling section so you can always try before you buy. Overall their staff is always very nice.

Like the Guava cookie and the rest are not bad but i'm sorry I gotta say that Big Island Cookies is WAY better. I just buy these Honolulu Cookies to give as Omiyage/Gifts when I travel.

Free samples draw you in. There they sit, all assembled in a row. Every flavor they sell available for you to taste. Grab a tong and go to town. You will end up buying. Why? Because you are a sucker, just like me. They know what free samples do to people. They make them happy, they make some people feel guilty if they don't buy anything, but most of all, they make people realize that they are selling some really tasty cookies. Not the average cookie crap you find at an ABC store. These are the real deal...there is a reason they have a dozen locations per city block. We got a couple of boxes. One for us and one for some friends. I have been enjoying the individually-sealed cookies one at a time since our return. As a matter of fact, wait a second..... Ok, this is better. I am now completing the review with a cookie in hand. It is a chocolate dipped original one and it is shaped like a pineapple. Mmmmmm. Want one? They also have white chocolate dipped, lilokoi, ones with pineapple and mango chunks in them, one with a coffee bean (yuck) and a few others. They are all great, except the coffee bean. For the record, I don't like coffee at all, and I ate it by accident because it was dark in the room and I thought I grabbed one with a fruit center. Ick. Check it out when you are in Honolulu. If nothing else, you can enjoy some free samples and a mild feeling of guilt as you continue your shopping adventure on the main strip.

Shortbread cookie perfection! It's a good thing they don't have a store near me, or I'd have absolutely no chance of ever losing those last five pounds - EVER. No matter which location you go to, you'll get consistently delicious treats - perfect for your morning coffee, as souvenirs, or for presents to ship back to family on the mainland. They wrap them individually, so you don't have to worry about getting a stale cookie. The range of flavors - tropical, coffee, and chocolate-y - makes it easy to please all kinds of palates. Luckily, they don't skimp on the samples - so chomp away and bring home your favorites!

  • Food L.

I can't say much about this place. It's like a Hawaiian butter cookie. Similar to the danish, but not as good. It's nice that they let you get free samples, but not worth the price. But then again, everything in Hawaii is expensive so I shouldn't be complaining. Worth a try and maybe bring back home some to give to the family members to try to impress them. But overall just a ok.

  • Jacqueline N.

Mmm I love short bread.cookies! There are plenty of locations all around Waikiki. The cool thing about this shop is that they have samples for every flavor, and it's self serve. Also, they don't watch you like hawks to make sure you eat too much, not saying that you should... I would suggest trying every flavor then decidig what to get. They have little premade packs of 10 for about $7, but I would suggest doing the male your own box of 10 for $8. You get to goose th flavors you want, and get a cute little box. Or a better deal is to choose 20 cookies for about $13. Flavor is good. It's shortbread! Flour, butter, eggs.. and chocolate! Try them all. And it's fresh. Geez. I didn't realize I went to this store at three different locations!

  • Mark S.

Extremely friendly staff. free samples of EVERYTHING! Also if you spend a certain amount, you get free cookies. We got a free cookie bag! It was great! Love this place. Great for gifts to bring back home to the mainland.

  • Lyn P.

Bringing back chocolate covered macadamias to the mainland is so passe. You gotta bring back the hawaiian shortbread cookies. HCC knows what is up and makes it so easy for you to bring back gifts. You can make your own boxes of mixes and the prices are totally reasonable - 20 for $9.95. I loved the lilikoi dipped in chocolate. The kona coffee dipped in chocolate was righteous as well. They have a rewards card - if you spend $50, you get one of their samplers. Also, you can sample any cookie - they have bins of them to taste. Their staff was nice all three times I went there. I'm a fan for life.

I am a HUGE cookie lover, so Honolulu Cookie Company is worth all hype and must go to place when visiting Hawaii. They have a huge selection of shortbread cookies. My favorites are the chocolate dipped macadamia, mango macadamia, and coconut. Make sure you have your sweet tooth ready to sample all the flavors before buying. :) The staff is extremely nice. They have really cute gift boxes and it is a great gift to bring for family, friends and co-workers. If you are not able to go to this location, they also have another one in the Ala Moana food court in the mall.

  • Joanne G.

This was just one of um, three Honolulu Cookie Company locations that I visited while in Oahu, where I accidentally dropped almost $80 on cookies. Oops. Yes, they are that good! I love how you are encouraged to try each and every flavor of shortbread cookie they stock, so you know exactly what you're buying. You can make up your own boxes of cookies by choosing the flavors you'd like or go with one of their many prepackaged gift boxes. I handed out gift boxes of cookies for coworkers and family (only about $10 - $15, though they look more expensive) and everyone was raving about how delicious they were. My absolute favorites are the pineapple shaped kona coffee and the plain shortbread pineapples with dried mango, and lilikoi in the center. Anything chocolate dipped is awesome too. Well, they're all good. If you're looking for some crowd-pleasing souvenir gifts to bring back to the mainland, then this is definitely the place to stop by at the end of your trip.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the free samples!! You can make a pack to go and choose all your own flavor preferences! Very soft delicious cookies. Love to bring these back to the mainland!

  • Lynette R.

Awesome awesome cookies!!! I'm so glad they offer free samples, or I would have walked right past the store, regarding it as a lame tourist-type place! Every flavor of shortbread cookies are wonderful! I love the coconut varieties. On our last vacation, we sent a small box to immediate family members, who all loved them as well. I really like that each cookie is individually wrapped. Everything stays fresher that way. Since you can order over the internet, Honolulu Cookies are now my family's go-to birthday and x-mas gifts when we just can't find the right something. These always hit the spot!!!

  • Kristy E.

Yep 5 stars for these little nibbles of tasty, tasty goodness :) I'm not a big sweets person, the occasional creme brulee or sorbet is about as big as my sweet tooth gets. Actually I'm kind of lying, I love sweets! It's just usually candy.. I have the tastes of a child when it comes to that stuff. I just think most dessert foods don't taste like much but sugar or sweetness and I like more flavor. Flavor and a perfect cookie are when these little pineapple shaped treats have to offer. While strolling through the Hilton Hawaiian Village we passed the Honolulu Cookie Company and the scents coming from the shop drew my daughter in. Really, we went in for her. After trying one of their many free samples tho, I was an instant fan! Great flavor and texture! My personal faves are the lilikoi mango, kona cofee, pineapple macadamia and mango macadamia. My daughter loves the little chocolate chip cookie bites and I must agree they are yum-e :)

OMG, their cookies are to die for. My favorites are the chocolate dipped with coconut, the chocolate chip minis, and the pineapple and mango ones. They're generous with their samples which is nice. The cookies are reasonably priced and they make great gifts!

These are so good and there are many shortbread flavors from which to choose. They have samples of all of them where you can use a little pair of tongs to pull out a piece of cookie to try. Watch out though - I saw a small child use the tongs as a fork - yuck! I hope the staff keep a closer eye on the little ones. My favorite - the white chocolate dipped.

I spent $50 on shortbread cookies to bring back to San Francisco and so far everyone loved it. They give free samples in mini pieces for most of the flavors. You can try as many as you want because its in a container and you just get it yourself with a tong. The staff is friendly. They also have a rewards card thing. Every $5 you get a stamp and after 10 stamps you get a baggie package with 8 variety cookies for free. This is a Honolulu product, so it is definitely worth it for you to walk in and try it even if you don't plan to buy anything. The cookies are great souvenirs compared to macadamia nuts! The cookies are made fresh daily and it last up to 6 months.

    (5)
  • Kim W.

The cookie company was conveniently located across the street from our hotel. After tasting a few free samples, we went nuts and bought a bunch as souvenirs for our friends and family. My friend even had a box shipped to her aunt somewhere. I'd definitely come back to buy some more next time I visit!

  • Chris G.

I've been here many years back and the service just gets better and better. I was in the shop maybe a minute and one of the staff asked me if I needed any help. This was with a busy rush of customer and even when I told them I was still browsing they made sure to keep close to answer any questions. Once I picked all the cookies I wanted they made sure I had a frequent customer stamp card. I left there smiling and I'll be ordering more cookies online when I run out.

  • Pauline L.

You can bet that I sampled every single one of the flavors. It's practically an open invitation to do so! The shortbread cookies are delicious and come in such a variety of flavors - pineapple (one of their staples), macademia nut, dark chocolate dipped, guava, kona coffee, etc. Some have a fruit filling in the center, whereas the kona coffee (my personal favorite) had a crumbly coffee bean. So simple and so tasty! This is a great place to purchase gifts at reasonable prices; plus you know that they'll enjoy it as opposed to a useless magnet or keychain. My family and friends devoured their cookies within days. Instead of splurging for the pretty cellophane or box wrapped ones, you can get a much better deal if you hand select your own flavors into the assortment box. In the words of my mom, as she ate the pineapple cookie "yum, yum, yum!"

I can't ask for anything more from a cookie store. This particular store is at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.. Small but neat, clean. They have samples set up around the store-- all different cookies with mini tongs to help yourself. The packages range from singles to small assorted and up. Good cookies, nicely packaged, well priced and a frequent buyer card. 5 stars.

  • Perry W.

It is so hard not to leave without buying a box or more of these awesome cookies, especially after sampling every single flavor...twice! Yes, the chocolate dipped macadamia nut shortbread cookies are as good as everyone raves about. The Kona coffee shortbreads are great, too. I suppose you could just sample the shortbread cookies until you're satiated, but you'll be longing for more shortly after leaving the store. You can get 20 cookies for about $10, each individually wrapped in cellophane.

  • Arpineh K.

Such a cute store. Everything inside is pineapples, down to the decor (the clocks, lamps, etc.). Very cute and delicious cookies but kinda overpriced. I just bought 8-pack boxes for my friends as souvenirs, but it was too much to buy a lot of them. The mango flavored cookies are the best, and the cocoa ones are good too.

I am really obsessed with these little cookies. Good Lord. I am not even a shortbread fan but these are magical. My favorite is the chocolate dipped in chocolate :) I really enjoy the fact they are small enough to eat several of while changing up the flavors. There are many locations of these cookie stores and the staff is always friendly coaxing you to add more shortbread to your butt, I mean shopping basket ;)

You can try every cookie they sell for free! They were so delicious we spent over $80 for souvenier gifts. Even if you don't buy anything, go in and try a few free samples:)

I love me some cookies, and Honolulu Cookie Company has some darn good cookies for great prices. They make great gifts for friends/family back home as they use local ingredients and flavors and the price is right. And grab some for yourself...

Paul, I lied. THIS is my last review of Hawaiian eateries in this series! I got hooked by sampling their samples. If you like shortbread cookies, you may love this place, although it's exactly like Big Island Candies with less variety. It's nice you can build your own assortment, but after having been home less than 24 hours, I just consumed my custom made box of 10 chocolate covered, triple chocolate, pineapple, coconut, white chocolate covered, and plain cookies. I do have a beef about this place. The tourists take too freaking long at the samples!!! Just grab a bunch and LEAVE!!! There are others waiting! I can't tell you how many times I wanted to fling frail Asian women out of the way who couldn't make up their minds! I can say that because I'm a pretty hefty Asian myself and can break THEM in pieces! Luckily, one can order online!

Short bread cookies?? At first glance/thought, they didn't seem like anything special. But after I passed by 3 other Honolulu Cookie stores and couldn't resist sampling, I got hooked and ended up purchasing a bunch to take back home. I enjoyed the simpler flavors: original, coconut, chocolate chip. The fruit ones (mango, pineapple) were not really my thing. The cookies are perfect bite-sized morsels, and packaging is uber cute, definitely perfect to give as a gift. Pricing is a bit steep, but hey, we're on vacay, right??? Gotta splurge a little. =) These cookies are special and wish I snagged more!

Seriously sooo delicious!! They have free samples of everything in the stores.. Also see if you can get a free cookie from the "broken bin" they have behind the counter!!

This place is awesome! Was walking around in Waikiki, when I stumbled into this place. The cookies are absolutely delicious. They let you sample different kinds as well, so it's easy to find something you like. Most of the patrons are Japanese, but the staff is friendly towards everyone. I came back to the mainland wishing I had bought more cookies.

The cookies are fantastic! My only regret was I only bought 1 box of 20 cookies back with me... : ( I should have bought more, because shipping costs as much as a box of cookies! Will get more next time I visit Hawaii.... My fav is the dark chocolate dipped kona coffee...

I would have given this place 5 stars but then I tried Big Island Candies macadamia nut shortbread cookies and they're just ever so slightly better. But if I could I would give this 4.5 stars because they are really, really good cookies too! I especially loved the poppable-sized ones with chocolate chips inside. YUM!

Yes, it's THAT good. SO good that we had to buy another piece of luggage just to fit all the boxes of cookies we bought. Once inside their store, you're welcome to sample ALL the different cookies. Plain shortbread, shortbread with macadamia, chocolate dipped, short bread with pineapple, shortbread with mango, dipped in WHITE chocolate, coffee shortbread with a whole coffee bean in the middle...oh the list goes on. AND they're all shaped like pineapples! How cute is that!!? So..after spending a crap load at this place for souvenirs for my friends and family...a few weeks later I ordered more from their website. Yes, it's THAT good. =)

Great cookies! A great gift to bring home from hawaii-- much superior to any of the crap you'd buy in the tourist stores. Try them all!

WoW! I was feeling guilty about being in HI while my employees were busy at work back in Tokyo. These cookies should make them happy! Thought I was getting sucked in to a tourist trap at the Hawaiian Village but ended up buying $200 worth of cookies! Chocolate chip Macadamia cookies are great! All of them are free to sample and wonderful!

These cookies are awesome! I bought a whole lot of them before I came back to VA. Everyone who tried them thought they were the best. I actually like the plain cookie. The chocolate dipped is good, as well as the chocolate cookie.

I love shortbread cookies. Honestly I can't tell the difference between the shortbread at Honolulu Cookie Company and Big Island Candies, except for the fact that the one's from Honolulu Cookie Company are shaped like pineapple and they seem to have some flavors that Big Island Candies don't. Extra star for having so many convenient locations.

These cookies are so good! I am back on the mainland, and I am having a withdrawal! I would make monthly orders, if I could. But why, oh why, is the SHIPPING SO EXPENSIVE??! If the company considered waiving a shipping for large orders or charging $10 for shipping or less, I would be a very loyal customer.

  • Fern D.

I'm partial to Big Island Candies, but since discovering Honolulu Cookie Company, I think there's room for two! They have lip-smacking good shortbread cookies. YUM! They offer a variety of pineapple shaped shortbread in different flavors, with some dipped in dark, milk and white chocolate. However, unlike Big Island Candies, they don't offer a sugar-free line yet, but are working on it, so I was told. Anyhow, run, don't walk to the nearest Honolulu Cookie Company. They have samples!!

These cookies are delicious! They are the best shortbreads I've ever had. The pineapple shapes delighted my little girl and they were easy for her to hold. I bought a bunch to bring home as gifts but I've been slowly muching on them myself.....

Being a tourist I just HAD to take some cookies home. They have sample cookies for you to try which is helpful. I went a little crazy and over indulged. They have these member cards where you accumulate stamps based on how much you spend and can earn freebies. I will very much enjoy these cookies back home!

I absolutely adore Honolulu Cookie Company. I love that they're everywhere in Waikiki and I love that they're open late. The cookies are super good and I love how you can pack your own boxes by mix & matching various cookie flavors. I always go with this option because I like being able to have more of one cookie and just one of another cookie. My favorites include the Lilikoi, Dark Chocolate Mac Nut, and Mango shortbread. They are a bit on the expensive side - ~$1 per cookie if you get it in the pick boxes but they're so worth it! I always bring some back home when I visit Hawaii. This Honolulu Cookie Company that's located inside the Hilton Hawaiian Village is always open late (10pm on somedays I believe) and make it super easy for people staying inside the hotel to grab some quick souvenirs for their friends & family back home. I loved coming in here during my stay, trying some samples and picking out cookies.

I was looking forward to buying the beautiful Pineapple shaped cookies from Honolulu Cookie Company even before I landed in Oahu. One of my Husband's colleagues had brought in some cookies a while back and I had been dreaming of them ever since. We would stroll down in the Hilton Hawaiian Village and land up at the store to taste a few cookies and busy some. On the day we were leaving we bought cookies for all of our friends and ended up getting a box of cookies for free with their punch card system. Best cookies ever. I gifted a box to my colleagues and some of them asked me a few times if I had more stashed away. As if I would I would tell them where I keep them hidden! The cookies are basically Hawaiian shortbread, but they come in so many yummy flavors! MUST TRY!

  • Ami K.

What happened to natural ingredients? Last time we were here they used flour butter sugar to make their cookies. Now their ingredient list is a mile long including partially hydrogenated oil and carrageen which no one should eat!!! They did this to increase shelf life to 3 months from previous 1 month but if you freeze them they will last 6 months!!! So disappointed. My kids love their cookies but I will no longer buy them or stock up to give as gifts. Hydrogenated oil stays in you body for 40 days clogging up your arteries. Carrageen should be avoided as it causes inflammation in your body which can lead to serious diseases.

This company must be doing something right. Created only in 1998, they've grown into over a dozen outlets on Oahu, Maui, and soon Las Vegas, I believe. They're also available for purchase at many Tommy Bahama stores. The one I went to was on the Hilton Hawaiian Village property. Service was friendly and best of all they give out free samples of all types of cookies. They're crisp, buttery shortbread cookies that come in flavors such as Kona coffee, triple chocolate, coconut, pineapple macadamia, mango, and lilikoi mango. Plus some flavors are dipped in chocolate, dark, or white chocolate -- each individually wrapped. They can be pricey (we walked out with a huge bag of cookies for friends and family back home) but they're much better gifts than your typical macadamia nuts.

  • Sivilay T.

Came to pick up 2 boxes of the chocolate chip macadamia mini bites ($10.95 each) and a box of the 32-piece custom macadamia shortbread cookies ($17.95) around 8:30 PM and there was a very long line. The place was literally filled with customers, but the wait was actually not too bad especially since I asked to have my 32-piece customized. The location is nice, but a bit small and cramped with so many customers in there. The staff members are polite and helpful...but I came out of my way because their cookies are crazy addicting. Who would've ever imagined that I'd spend $100 on a bunch of shortbread cookies? Well, I guess I always had a weakness for macadamia nuts, shortbread cookies and chocolate; but to combine them into one...that's like heaven in a box. I've already eaten 3 boxes of those mini bites in the last 5 days, so that should already speak for itself!

Five stars for free samples, yipee! If you don't purchase anything it's your loss! After the generous offering of samples it's hard to choose, sooo hard, lol but you do what ya gotta do. Yep, gift boxes to take home, darn, I ended up eating the gifts! Shortbread textured cookies, shaped like pineapples in many delicious flavors, I especially love the chocolate chip Kona coffee, pineapple macadamia & dark chocolate peppermint. Reasonably priced treats, they are scattered throughout the Waikiki area and the airport as well. Usually packed tight, I waited until the crowd was lighter as it was close to my hotel. Very nice shopping experience, excellent customer service. Your experience don't have to end once you leave the island as you can purchase online, awe....sum!

By far, one of the most amazing cookies I have ever had. If shipping wasn't so expensive, I would probably order from here more often. I first came to this place during my HS Senior Class Trip to Hawaii. I personally love their Chocolate Chip Macadamia Mini Bites, and literally every one of the 15 flavored cookies. Yes, it's a bit overprice, but they make such wonderful gifts and the quality of the cookies were worth every penny! The cookies are in pineapple shapes too, simply adorable. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting.

Excellent customer service! Bought about $75 worth of cookies for family and friends on the mainland. Employee threw in 2 handfuls of their peppermint chocolate covered cookies for free! She even gave little cousin a good handful of them and she didn't even buy anything. They're delicious, my favorite is the dark chocolate covered peppermint ones, which they ran out of real quick! Aside from buying island princess mele macs as take-home goodies, these cookies make great gifts/treats! Packaging is always on point and ready to give as is! Loved the employees here more than the ones at Lewers St. They were much more personable, welcoming, and didn't try push me to buy everything.

Honolulu cookie company is one a few companies that specialize in edible souvenirs and gifts. Their cookie is specifically tailored for the tourist crowd but they are quite the hit with the locals too. One key thing about their stores is that they give many samples of pretty much every flavor they have. While I'm not a fan of shortbread cookies because they are too dry, I often get these cookies as a gift from friends and family. They are easily recognizable by their pineapple shaped cookies and being a pineapple-crazed person I am, I eat it anyway. You may have guessed what my favorite flavor is then. Pineapple of course. Second favorite? Dark chocolate lilikoi. Like I've said earlier, these are a hit as gifts as they are packed accordingly. FREEEE SAMPOOOOHHHS!! They have free samples of almost every flavor of macademian shortbread cookie they make. And yes, these cookies are better than those jars of macademian nuts. I ended up buying an already boxed set of 9 cookies which consisted of 3 each of: the coffee, the milk chocolate dipped and the pineapple. They didn't have any samples of the coffee flavored one, just a white chocolate coffee cookie. I enjoyed all the flavors though but thought the milk chocolate was the best. This box was $7.95 for the 9 cute pineapple shaped cookies. They're not cheap for being tiny, but Hawaii has some delish cookie shops including this one! We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village during this trip to Hawaii and I must say that the staff at the Honolulu Cookie Company were great! We went in a few times to try some of the samples, but didn't want to buy gifts quite so early in our trip and the staff was okay with that. I love these cookies. The cookies are shortbread with different flavors, some with macadamia nuts, some with chocolate coating. My favorites are the kona with chocolate coating and the passion fruit with or without coating. Two things I like are that there are always free samples (small pieces) but it gives you an idea of the tastes and that you can make your own assortment by choosing the single cookies (each wrapped separately).

  • Keiko S.

The cookies taste nice but last time I ate them I thought I saw some hydrogenated stuff on the ingredients list. Not sure, you better check!
