I recommend CJ's for breakfast. They have an awesome menu and it is served all day. The French toast and eggs Benedict spectacular. I will be back on my next trip to Oahu.

Really good fresh food, great staff, good portion size. Not very expensive and good pricing

Wow overpriced garbage. The $16 double decker pig sandwich was more like a BLT... I simply sent it back. I refused to pay for their garbage. Save your time and your money. My wife was really hungry and ate her pastrami and Corned Beef sandwich and said it was ok. I looked at it and thought it was overpriced and too small. There is not enough meat on it. Anyone that has eaten at a Jewish deli or New York style deli would not be happy. BTW they don't validate for parking. RIP OFF.

Conveniently located in Hilton Hawaiian Village. Inside and outside seating available. Lots of menu choices and lots of comfort food. Service is usually very good. Prices seem high but compared to other choices within the Hilton complex it's a bargain. The neighboring restaurants - like the Waimea Diner and IHOP across the street are disgusting. They even top off your soda for ToGo.

Food was ok. A bit overpriced for what u get. Upside it is convenient for a quick meal at the resort. Cost $35.00 for a house salad and a French Dip type Sandwich.

Had breakfast here yesterday. Good food - we loved the kalua pork club sandwich & tomatoes/bacon/avocado eggs Benedict. Dillon was our server & he was awesome; really positive, very friendly, helpful on menu choices, local recommendations, etc! Bit pricey but it's Waikiki, so it is what it is. Good for families or couples.

The first time we came here: Omg, three entrees cost $65, the f... where am I, in a high-end restaurant? Ok, ok. I guess I am in hawaii and eating at one of the restaurants in hilton hawaiian village but seriously $65 before tip? Geez, what did we order: spaghetti, burger, and a trio sampler. No drinks just water. The spaghetti, tasted HORRIBLE! It had a very sour after-taste and if I wasnt so hungry after a long day. I would have stopped eating it on the first bite. ew ew ew... The burger was dried & the fries was ok. The trio sampler that my dad ordered was probably the best tasting food from all of them. I enjoyed the pancakes only. We did come back for the second time because we had no idea where else to eat, so we decided on this place again! ugh! We ordered the calamari & the pancakes. The calamari was GREAT, surprisingly and the pancakes was good since I did taste it the first time we were there. I would have given it a 3 star since the service there was pretty great and they were very attentive but the prices for the food was NOT worth it!

Good sized menu with a decent variety. They got our food out in an average time, service was okay overall. However one of the five meals ordered had cold fries. Personally I thought the prices were steep even when compared to other restaurants in the area. I payed 17$ for a pastrami burger which was good. The food was good but nothing too special--especially for the price. I'm my opinion, I would pass on CJs as you don't really get that great of food for what you pay. I would rate it 2 stars but the server was really helpful so I bumped it up. Also the pigeons roaming outside can get annoying.

  • Karina M.

It was good! We got to try the sampler trio with coconut pancake, loco moco and eggs benedict! It is overpriced but like previous reviews you are on FANTASY ISLAND, Hawaiian Hilton Village Trap. Good food just expensive and the Hilton just pissed me off!!!!!!!!!

The triple play was a good intro into Americanized Hawaiian food. if you're new to the resort and looking for something quick this a good place to go early in the morning.

  • Jeri S.

Food wasn't appealing. Had spaghetti with meat balls. Didn't look good at all. Servers were good but all this foot traffic of people cutting through tables is too much and annoying.

Kinda expensive, but look where you are. The food was nothing astounding. I grew up in New York, and if you're expecting a pastrami on rye like an old school New York Deli (Katz's, 2nd Avenue, Carnegie, etc.) you will be sorely disappointed. The "rye bread" would not pass for rye in NYC, and the quantity of meat, while reasonable, is not the gargantuan portions you get back east. But you're 5000 miles away in the tropical Pacific Ocean. In a tourist trap. So it's not bad for what it is. Chill out and Live Aloha. If you're not a fussy New Yawker, you'll think it's OK. There's another place in Waikiki called "Giovanni Pastrami's" with the identical deli menu, apparently same owner. If they use a name like "Giovanni Pastrami's", what more do you need to know? The *service*, on the other hand, was exceptionally good. Very courteous and friendly without being "too much". And fast! My wife was astounded how quickly our food came - seemed like 4 minutes after ordering. Casual enough for people with kids. This may be a plus or a minus for you. We saw a little tyke almost hurl himself off his chair through a glass window!

This is always a must when we go to Oahu!!! The breakfast is awesome!!! The moco loco is fantastic and I ADORE the macadamia nut pancakes!!!!!! The staff is always very friendly and we have never gotten a bad meal. Hubby loves the rueben sandwich and my kids all found something they liked (they are super picky)! As for prices, it was right in line for Hawaii moderate sit down places. Restaurants in Hawaii are expensive....never compare pricing to the mainland.

  • A R.

Very friendly staff but food sucks! The chef couldn't even make my very simple order of pasta tossed in butter sauce right. This is the worst, bland food I have ever eaten.

    (2)
  • E. M.

The reuben sliders were not only adorable, but quite tasty. The chili fries not so much, chili was bland and not worth the price. My bf ordered the steak (medium) and eggs. It looked promising until he cut into it and it was closer to rare. Called the server over and showed him and asked to have it fired a little longer on the grill, which he happily did. After many minutes later he returned with basically a scorched steak, it had shrunk considerably in size due to over cooking. So it was one extreme or the other, meanwhile my bf only eating his eggs and rice. When we spoke to the Manager all he could say was that "the cut of meat is difficult to cook and we are considering taking it off the menu." Really?? It's a 5-6 oz piece of meat, it is not difficult to cook! I expressed my displeasure at his answer but he hardly apologized about it. He took the steak off our bill (uh, duh!) and let him know our server did a good job. This place might be ok for a to go order, but for the price it's not the best choice. There are plenty of other eateries nearby.

Best Breakfast! My family ate at CJs almost every morning while staying in Waikiki. Breakfast served all day, and lunch and dinner menus are a huge variety. Service was extremely friendly. Hardly any wait for food or seating. Great price for large quantity and fabulous quality. Definitely recommend for anyone, any meal of the day!

  • Max J.

That was really bad. Just had the loco moco here, hoping that it would be decent. I ordered the eggs over easy and the burger patty medium (wasn't sure about the quality of meat here)--both came out way overcooked and gross. The eggs were pretty much over hard (no runny yolk), and the burger well done (charred, you can taste the burnt). That made the whole dish dry, and there wasn't enough gravy to save it. The flavors did not blend together, and it felt like I was just eating really bad separate dishes (who wants to eat charred hamburger, rock hard fried eggs, and dry rice?). I do not recommend this place.

    (1)
  • Greg M.

Had a pretty good breakfast here--stuff is kind of hit or miss. The pancakes were very good, and my wife loved the coconut syrup. The eggs benedict were good, but the egg on a hamburger and rice thing, which is kind of a local favorite, was pretty blah. This place is pricey but it's right at the resort (Hilton Hawaiian Village) and fun to sit on the little patios and enjoy the fresh air at breakfast.

  • Cindy E.

The servers at CJ's were really nice. The food was pretty good, but nothing special. I had the Loco Moco and I liked that I had the option of type of beef (Angus vs. Wagyu). It is a little pricey, but that is to be expected when you're located in a touristy/shopping area. They do have a very large variety of food, which is a plus. However, if you're staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and don't want to drive off site for breakfast I'd recommend walking to Goofy's and heading to Chiba Ken's for dinner.

    (3)

Their food is fantastic! They have a nice selection, with options for the entire family. Eat inside, or on the covered patio.

So I got back to the hotel rather late from a lengthy day of snorkeling and just wanted something quick to eat. I am a big deli fan and love pastrami and corned beef so I thought this would be a good choice. I looked at their menu outside while I was deciding what to get. I chose the Chelsea's Treat which is corned beef and pastrami on rye with tomatoes, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing and opted for the potato salad. The description on the menu says "piled high" with corned beef and pastrami but don't be fooled. There was maybe 6oz of meat on the sandwich and the presentation was sloppy. I have eaten at plenty of delis and am not shy about paying a premium for a quality sandwich but this was definitely not worth the $16. The potato salad that came with it was totally bland and I couldn't get past two bites of that concoction. I don't know how the rest of their food is but if you're looking for a sandwich stop at the ABC store, they're better and cheaper.

    (1)
  • Toney W.

Did not expect an over cooked burger and one piece of pastrami in their Pastrami patty melt. Also ordered the combo roast beef and pastrami sandwich which had over cooked roast beef! Both sandwiches cost over $32 and that's without any drinks! Worst meal of my trip to Honolulu.

    (1)
  • Eric H.

An insanely overpriced sandwich. I know you are in the Hilton Village, I know your rent is astronomical, but a $25 sandwich? I mean don't get me wrong, I do not expect subway prices, but for the quality of the sandwich and having to use mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup from packages says to me closer to the $10 range. All in all I do not recommend this place, even if you are staying in the Hilton Hotel.

  • Lisa S.

Why bother? We thought, "Why not try it?" One word... Don't! I ordered the BBQ chicken salad. It was so over-cooked and dry , the chicken was BRITTLE! The sauce tasted as if it was right out of a can. I admit, it is hard to get a salad "wrong" , some how the cook managed to get it ALL WRONG!! The veggie burger was mediocre at best. The service was slow, but our server, Leah, was kind and apologetic. So here is the question, Why open a restaurant if the food is an after thought? The cook needs to be trained on basic re-heating techniques.

Stopped here for Breakfast because the line at the Wailana Coffee House looked too long. **Food was good, nothing outstanding but it was a nice spot to sit outside on the courtyard. Giving them credit as the server was very busy since it was Easter Sunday around 11:00am. All and all, if you're here you're probably staying in the Hilton Village, surprisingly good for what our expectations were.

  • Jim F.

This was OK, prices are high, but that has to be expected inside the HHV resort. For a lite lunch we shared a Double decker kalua pig sandwich and a green salad. The salad was fresh, the sandwich was really nothing to write home about, it was OK. Didn't really live up to expectations of a $16 sandwich.

Today I met someone very special at CJ's. My family stays at the Hilton Hawaiian Village every year for the 4th of July. This morning, my sons really wanted pancakes & waffles. Since we had to be somewhere by 9 am, I thought we could just order take out from CJ's to save time. We have tried their food one time before and it was just ok. But you can't really screw up pancakes, right? We were on a time crunch so at 7 am (when their take out menu says they are open), I called down. This guy picks up and I tell him I want to order take out. He says "call back in 10 minutes when it's 7 o'clock." I told him it is 7 o'clock now. He proceeds to tell me it is not 7 o'clock yet. It will be in 10 minutes when his computer says it's 7 o'clock. I thought he was kidding. I asked him if he was sure it wasn't 7 o'clock. He said his computer won't let him take orders until 7 o'clock. He was a bit condescending as if I had the wrong time. Ok, so to be sure, I checked my iPhone, iPad, and the clock in the hotel. It was indeed 7:01 am. So here's my conclusion. 1. Either he can't tell time in which case he should never have graduated from the 3rd grade, 2. CJ's has the wrong time by 10 minutes on their computers in which case they have an incompetent business (and BTW he should not have answered the phone if they weren't open yet) or 3. This guy can manipulate time. If this is true, he should quit the food service business and become a magician in Vegas. He would have been better off telling me they weren't ready to take orders yet rather than trying to fool me into thinking I had the wrong time. As if! My message to CJ's - your food is only ok. You really should work on your service. And hire people who can tell time. My message to diners - if you want to pay outrageous prices for mediocre food or are desperate - eat here. Otherwise, don't waste your time or money.

The food here is very good. It's a popular place as it was super packed when we came here to place a to go order. We ordered a Fettucine Alfredo and a CJ's Caesar Burger. The prices were moderately high at $16 and $15, respectively. The price markups are fairly common here in the Hilton Hawaiian Village (per my other review about the Starbucks that was $9 higher than at a Starbucks off-property). We liked the menu options and that it was within a short walking distance from our room in the Rainbow Tower.

We had two breakfasts and two lunches at CJs. It was consistently good. Its not great, but it was good food and fairly affordable. The affordable was nice with everything else around being so expensive. No complaints for CJs.

Food was just ok, but because it's on the Hilton Hawaiian Vacation Village site, everything over priced.

THIS PLACE RUINED MY LAST NIGHT IN HAWAII BECAUSE IT GAVE ME FOOD POISONING! You owe me and my mom one night in Hawaii because we had plans that night to celebrate the night away on our last night of our trip and because you don't know how to cook a hamburger properly I threw up all night instead. THANKS. And to top it off, my mom was so upset that she even called you and the Hilton to report the food poisoning and you didn't even offer to reimburse us for the food we bought there! Any hotel who would like to maintain its customers should have at least offered that. They didn't even say sorry either and they told my mom they would follow up with us and of course they never did. Whatever you do, don't eat here. Save yourself from vomiting since they don't know how to cook something as simple as a hamburger here! That is something that almost anyone can do! And if it wasn't the cooking or preparation that went wrong, then it is the meat itself which is even worse! GRRRRRR I am still mad just thinking about this experience! And from a place at the Hilton Village?? Really????

We came here to grab a late bite to eat on our last night on Oahu since it was close by and they were one of the few places to offer a fairly good selection of salads. My mom and I ordered the BBQ chicken salad with the dressing on the side and my sister ordered the tuna salad (that came with a side of cole slaw and potato salad) with the dressing on the side. When our orders arrived, they were massive! I was pretty hungry, so I easily devoured my salad. I'm not a big fan of creamy dressings, so I didn't use the ranch dressing that my salad came with -- instead, I used the BBQ sauce that was liberally drizzled on top of my chicken and mixed it around to coat my salad. A big fan of BBQ sauce, my salad hit the spot and was quite satisfying. My mom used the ranch dressing for her salad and she finished most of her salad, too. My sister's salad was a bunch of greens topped with three piles: potato salad, tuna salad, and cole slaw. She finished most of the toppings and picked at some of the lettuce, but only finished about half of the greens. We were all quite satisfied with our meals, however, after returning to our hotel room, my sister started to feel ill. She didn't throw up, but she did feel ill enough to go to bed early and sleep in until just before we had to leave for the airport. She even slept while waiting for our flight and slept through the entire flight without eating a thing the entire day because she felt so miserable! I'm not 100% sure it was the food because she went to the doctor today and they couldn't pin-point the cause, but it's quite a coincidence! Seeing another review of a food poisoning incident here, I would say: dine here at your own risk. The food is tasty, the portions are huge, and the prices aren't too bad for being located within a resort, but it sounds like their food handling practices aren't very solid. There's a sister restaurant called Giovanni Pastrami about a good 10 minute walk down the street near a bunch of other shops and restaurants with a more extensive menu (featuring many of the same items with the addition of several pasta dishes and Round Table pizza) that might be worth going to if you're craving their food but don't want to risk getting food poisoning. We went there a couple nights prior and didn't have any problems other than having a long wait time for our to-go order (30 minutes for a pesto pasta and two salads).

    (2)
  • Ax C.

Exact same menu as co-owned Giovanni Pastrami at Boardwalk. Wide ranging menu options the only plus at this mediocre establishment with Waikiki prices. Not much really separates this place from an Airport restaurant.

Just a few minutes of walk from the Hilton Hawaiian Village hotel... we went there one morning for breakfast. Seems like most everything on the menu is $15.95, pretty darn expensive for a breakfast if you ask me. Ordered a Bloody Mary, which was just "OK". I had the pastrami eggs benedict and Mr. S had the loco moco. Portions were pretty big. The loco moco was a 3 egg deal... Pretty good according to Mr. S. My benedicts were ok, a little too much of paprika and it had a sour taste to it. Hash browns were a little soggy... Well, that pretty much sums it up.

Lord have mercy...avoid this place!!! We were one of only three families eating here...which should have been a sign (On a busy Friday night)!!!! Food was nasty ( I hate to say)...I ordered an omelet and my husband had steak. We ate at Ihop the morning before, and Ihop had a WAY better steak than this place :( Will NEVER go back, and will NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE!!! Oh...and it's WAY over priced for the quality of food!!!!

Fresh & fast. Waiter was super nice and accommodating. Nothing flashy but has the basics covered: Hawaiian plates, pasta, Rubens, breakfast all day. Try the Mac nut pesto pasta.

  • Rafi M.

I went here to grab lunch with a friend. The waiters are friendly and the place is decent. The prices are a little high. I ordered the garlic shrimp (special of the day) and I was surprised it was $25. I was not expecting such a high price compared to other items on the menu. I thought it was worth $15, not $25. For the quality of the restaurant in terms of the place and food, it's not worth the price. Also, I've lived in New York. This is not a NY deli.

    (2)
  • Jason B.

$21 for a Reuben and Pepsi. Before tip. Quality was about the equivalent of a Denny's. However if you are hungry and using an expense account it will hit the spot. If you have the time and are willing to walk a little I advise going somewhere else.

  • Elena H.

I occasionally get take out here on my breaks at work. Because of the Hilton employee discount, I find it worth while. I usually get a grilled cheese sandwich with fries or mac salad/cole slaw and it's only 7 dollars. I think normally it would be 9 dollars though which is a bit steep. The food isn't amazing but it's not bad. It's good enough food to eat on lunch break. I hear their breakfast is pretty good. The staff is always super nice to me. I probably would not suggest it as a great lunch spot to someone visiting the Hilton Hawaiian Village for the first time.

    (3)
  • Vanessa G.

where do I begin? My husband keeps reminding me that this is the center of tourism and that I should not be shocked that a restaurant that caters to rotating bodies should not be bothered to maintain high standards regarding their overpriced food. I agree to an extent, however, when you are charging I think it was $14 or $16 for eggs benedict, and they come out eggs cold and hard muffins, you're gonna get a bad review and a bad impression felt all the way around. Overpriced and need to turn the flame up on the dang grill. Seriously, people really do like hot food. The staff are extremely helpful and polite!

We had breakfast here and it was terrible, absolutely terrible. I think the only reason why this place is in business is because its a part of the Hilton resort and the tourists don't know any better.

If your strapped for time and need a quick bite then I suggest you go somewhere else. Like much of the places located within the Hilton Village, the food is average at best and the prices are up there. The server was friendly.

  • Jacques M.

Sure it's a little pricey for the food quality, but look where your staying. No need for a book here, every aspect of CJ's is fairly average.Overall, I was fairly indifferent to my CJ's experience and it was a little overpriced, I'd give it closer to 2 1/2 stars.

It was yummy! My hot dog was excellent! The reason why I didn't give this place 5 stars is because it wasn't a wow place. -Trina

OK, almost scared away by the haters, however, three of us needed lunch badly. We had a great veggie sandwich, very solid burger and a perfect customized salad. Service was very good, and yes, prices were a bit high, but considering their location, it was less pricey than a hotel meal. BTW, sweet potato fries were really good too.

  • Jean C.

We came to eat here a couple mornings for breakfast and was pleased with my eggs benedict. It could have more hollandaise sauce with a little more zip. One time my poached eggs were over cooked so no runny yolk for me. The service was slow and could have been better. But really, we weren't in a rush so it was nice to have a relaxing meal. There is an outdoor sitting area and we sat out there during our meals. The coffee was excellent and so was the company. I am surprised with some of the bad reviews. Prices are a little high but when everything has to be imported, prices always increase. I am docking one star due to the service but other than that, I would come back for breakfast/brunch.

Well, CJ's sure lucked out as a result of the HHV strike. With all the major restaurants on the property closed and most of the hotel guests terrified to leave the property for fear of crossing the picket line and being harassed, threatened and otherwise insulted by picketers (see my HHV review) the very few onsite restaurants that were open were pretty busy. We ate at CJ's twice while we were here and LOVED it! The waiter we had the first night was friendly and attentive and let us sit where we wanted. We wanted to watch the MLB playoff games going on so he let us choose a spot on the bar where we could see three huge TVs. The hungrier half did his usual two plate special ordering a plate of ham, eggs, and rice AND a pastrami Reuben with potato salad. I wanted to pick on something so I ordered chili cheese fries. Portions were gigantor! He made it through his ham and eggs and helped me with my fries. We split half of the Pastrami Reuben which was loaded with layers upon layers of pastrami then topped with melted swiss cheese and tucked into toasted Rye slathered lightly with a creamy Russian dressing. It was to die for! I don't like Rye bread and I don't like Russian dressing. But this sandwich just worked. It worked so well in fact, I ended playing "hungrier half" for the day... We took the other half back to the room with us and I ate it later that night! The next day we went back to CJ's (lacking anywhere else to eat, but pleased with our previous experience anyway). Without even thinking about it, I ordered up a Pastrami Reuben. The hungrier half ordered some hybrid version of a sandwich--a double decker with turkey and ham of their own creation that looked huge and potentially messy. He enjoyed it nonetheless. He had fries and I stuck with the potato salad. And though we didn't have the same server we had the previous night, our service was still great. Every server we saw there was helpful and friendly. The guy who appears to be the manager can come off as a little rough around the edges, but when you watch him work, you can see he is well-intentioned. He's friendly to the customers and wants the employees to work fast and hard. I'm surprised to see so many bad reviews here about CJ's. This was one of the few good experiences we had on property at HHV. I hope to see some more positive reviews for them in the near future. We'll definitely be back for more of their sammiches!!

Ordered the bacon & tomato Benedict. It arrived really fast, but if must have been sitting for someone else because it was cold. Did I mention it was $18.00?!?? Yikes! The server was nice, but the kitchen needs to step up their game! Won't be eating here again.

Avoid this place at all costs. They don't know what counter service means. I ate there three mornings in a row - at the counter. On the forth day I went to sit at the counter again for the forth time and was told in a very surly way that I would have to stand in line behind all the families with kids etc. I asked if the counter was closed and was ignored. It is very unfair for a single person or a couple of two to have to wait behind families of 6, 8, or 10; none of whom sat at the counter. In the end I just left and had my breakfast at another place on the windward side of Oahu where they know what counter service is. CJ's is not New York style or anything resembling New York - in New York they know what counter service is. They're far too surly for the price, value, and lack of service.

Not too far of a walk from the Kalia tower at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, right in between Round Table Pizza, and some japanese restaurant, past ABC store and Honolua Surf shop. Again, the food is overpriced and I regret ordering the New York Steak sandwich over my first choice: the pastrami dip. The steak was very dry and hard to chew. The fries were just okay, and the coleslaw it came with.. well I never eat that crap so I can't tell you anything about that. The atmosphere... lets say that I felt a little claustrophobic in there. Theres a line of tables up against the wall, only a couple feet away from the bar seating. I would suggest taking the outdoor seating. The service was great. Our waiter was very attentive and liked to make unfunny jokes every now and then. Hey, that's better than getting a rude one that ignores you half the time right?

  • Brandon R.

I live a short walk from the Hilton Hawaiian Village, so, I come here when I get a craving for good Loco Moco. So far it's the tastiest Loco Moco I've encountered on Oahu. Everything on the menu is pretty spendy, but, the Loco Moco is priced ok for what you get, (a very large dish of food!) For those that don't know what the dish is, its 3 scoops of rice, a 1/2 lb. hamburger patty, grilled onions, brown gravy, with 3 fried eggs on top. Costs about $15, but, its so ono!

Beware of food poisoning!!! Me my son and husband all came down with food poisoning after eating their chili fries! My other son was fine that didn't eat them. Wasted a whole day of my vacation throwing up thanks to this place. It's over priced and mediocre.

I was there two weeks ago for breakfast. Eggs were translucent and completely under cooked. Sent them back and waited over 15 minutes without any food. Went up to the counter and the waiter asked the chef "where my breakfast was, I was only waiting for eggs to be cooked a little longer". The chef angrily said that he would "spit on um..." I couldn't believe what I heard. We left immediately!!!!!! Worst service in any restaurant I have been... EVER. Worst experience ever. They should be shut down.

As far as atmosphere is concerned, I'm in Hawaii! The location and set up is cute, and the food was pretty good, so that's where the three stars come in. I recommend the hot wings. However, 5.50 for a tiny cup of orange juice? My butt! And no refills! Also the waiter never once refilled my water, I guess there's no refills for water either. Maybe me and my sis will come back, but not for orange juice.

This place rates lower than 1 star. Part of Hawaiian Hilton's property line what an embarrassment to Hawaiian Hilton. Service: Sign said wait to be seated so we waited and waited. One staff member came through to clean an outside table and just barged through with a rather rude excuse me. Many staff kept going by but never said anything to us just ignored us. So we sat our selves. Had to ask for refill to my water and both times took forever. Food: Wife got Matzah Ball soup. $7.50 a bowl. Expensive: Big bowl. But, minimal broth. Minimal noodle and veggie. One big Matzah Ball it was okay missing something perhaps the Schmaltz nothing special about it. Cost vs. satisfaction and quality way over priced. I got the Ruben sandwich: I thought a Deli at Hawaiian Hilton would do good. I did not mind spending for a good Ruben. How wrong I was. Super expensive $15.95. The menu said piled high but honestly Arby's puts on more meat. They brought the soup right away but took 20 min to bring the Ruben. The bread was buttered and toast/grilled. Top slice of bread good, bottom piece was so soaked in the juice of the corned beef sandwich fell apart had to eat it by using the top piece of bread. Bottom just becomes yucky mush inedible. The meat was not quality at all for a Deli sandwich. I say this understanding why corned beef is corned. Over all 1 star is really being nice. Hawaiian Hilton needs to have a look at this place and the association of their name with it. Sorry me thinks way lower than Eek! methinks not. I only marked not good for kids because the place is expensive and feeding your kids will really run up your food bill and the kids probably won't be happy with the food. You won't be happy with paying for their meal. I marked full bar. Not positive but I know they have a couple Draft beers. Spend your money somewhere else. The French Fries got a lot but they were not a quality. Majority of Fries were little pieces vice like MacD's or other fast foods where you have a long French Fry vice a short length fry that majority were probably 1/2 inch or less. In short; This place really hit my pissed off button. The waiter did not seem to care about providing service. CJ's Deli did not seem to care about quality of food.

We stayed at the HHV so decided to try at least one of the restaurants on the resort and this place looked like a good place to try. We were wanting a good breakfast and I have to say we got one. The portions are huge and everything is made diner style so thats nice. You see them whipping it up right there just like NYC. =) I ordered the pancakes/eggs/bacon and didn't finish it since it was so huge! My husband ordered the same. The service was a bit slow, our waiter must have walked by us at least 4 times before I shot him a look where he stopped and some what apologized for the wait and took our order. It wasn't very busy so that annoyed me that we had to wait a while for him to get to us and even acknowledge us. Yes, we are in Hawaii and it's go with the flow pace....but when someone's starving...at least acknowledge them! right? Anyway, as I said, the portions are big, the price is reasonable, so I would recommend this place. We did go back for a 'to-go' order for dinner and was disappointed with that meal, I got the burger and fries with clam chowder soup and my husband ordered the tuna melt. Yes, both big servings, but not that good, was disappointed with that meal- breakfast was a lot better. However, when we got there for our pick up order, the service was a lot better and the gentleman there working the register who took our order was top notch....so maybe the morning shift needs some pointers from the evening shift. BTW, the bake fresh NYC style cheesecake everyday, so recommend getting that as a lot of people either ordered it to go or ate it after breakfast so it must be good. I didn't try it since I was over the waiter and wanted to get out of there. But next time, maybe we'll take it to go and try it as it looked delicious!

Pathetic dining establishment for an okay hotel chain. Went in between excursions for a quick lunch with my hubby; took quite a while for a server to appear just to get drink order. I ordered a vegetarian sandwich, impressed by the picture of a thick sandwich stuffed with sliced eggplant, mozzarella, tomatoes, roasted peppers, cucumbers, and spinach. What arrived was a joke- 2 slices of almost burnt toast with about 2 inches of spinach and a couple slices of tomato, along with a paper thin slice of cheese. I actually sent it back, receiving in return 1 slice each of red pepper and cucumber. Basically a spinach sandwich- yuck. Not worth half the cost, let alone full price.

We came here to try their breakfast before leaving the resort. I opted to try their pastrami eggs benedict. It tasted sour and the pastrami was on the meaty side. We also ordered the Corned Beef Hash, which looked and tasted like chewed up / undercooked corned beef. I will not come back if I don't have to.

I work at the Hilton, so I've eaten here many times. The food is below-average quality. My discount still doesn't make it cheap, so I feel sorry for those paying full price. The service is average, but friendly.

This place does not deserve your business, and most all of the reviews below would agree. I wish I could leave more than 1 star. I've never been confronted so harshly by a waiter. I'm a peaceful guy, vacationing with my family, wife, son, grandma, and this waiter was asking for a knuckle sandwich, but I did not give him the courtesy of this life lesson. Not sure where to begin, so I'll keep this as brief as I can. The waiter was very rude, as if he was doing me a favor to seat me. I was very clear in my order, healthy egg whites, no cream or butter. I'm not a granola or anything, just trying to keep my numbers down. He brought me eggs smothered in butter. I poked it with my fork, then asked for my bill. I could have waited, but I was really hungry and ready to settle for a snack at the ABC store. That's when the trouble began. I started counting bills, and the waiter began condescendingly lecturing me on how I need to learn to live a better life and be a better person, telling me that there was no need to be upset. He hovered over me in a threatening manner, and I asked him to please back away while I pay my bill (including generous tip under the circumstances) and leave. He further fussed, making smarmy comments while I paid and got up to leave. I uttered "I can't believe this!" As I walked away, he yelled "F%CK OFF" and "GO F%CK YOURSELF!" That was it, I asked for the manager, and told him my story. I was so fuming at that point, I refused to take my money back (nor the tip). I told him to keep his money, and stay tuned to YELP. My next call is to the Hilton HV management, then CJ's corporate when I get home.

This place serves a strong brew, though the food is pretty meh. The matzo ball soup was relatively flavorless, though the same cannot be said for the tasty beverage. The coke arrived in a tall plastic tumbler in a lovely shade of brown, served heavy on the ice cubes (as is my preference) with a straw. The mix was near perfection; just the right mix of bubbles and syrup to give the drink that classic coca cola taste. Though the pseudo-square/pseudo-crushed ice style ice cubes melted and diluted my aqua vitae a bit, I was very satisfied with the drink and would return there again for my coca cola fix needs.

The pastrami here was so tough I could barely bite through it. It tasted good, but because of the tough and stringy texture it was barely edible. The macaroni salad was good, though.

seriously, how do you mess up on breakfast? i blame the hilton that they can even allow this place to do business there. the food is un-edible. please do not eat here. it's plain terrible. i would walk across the street to iHop or find another place to eat.

Ok, first off this place is way overpriced for the quality of the food and their portions I noticed weren't consistent. Some people's ''Sky High's'' were just that and others well just weren't look like they barely had meat. On to my experience a friend and I decided to go here for breakfast since it was close to where we both were living at the time and on her way to work . So we stopped in here for lunch, I got some brisket sandwich with turkey with a green salad and my friend got the grilled chicken sandwich with fries. Prior to ordering I had asked the server if the turkey was fresh (Yes it is)....umm no it wasn't it was processed turkey and the brisket was just fat, there was hardly an edible piece of meat in my sandwich. My friends grilled chicken sandwich was very dry and her fries were limp and soggy. The waitress was a space cadet, never coming to check on the food, always forgetting the refill, and even mixed up two orders during our experience! This ganers 0 stars, but why the 2 stars. Yes, I came back another day with another friend cause were at the beach near the Hilton, and he wanted a pizza and there is a Round Table located next to here. I ended up doing take out and the waitress who help me Nicole was pleasant, got everything right and the sandwich this time (Sadie's loves it, but I replaced the feta with turkey *the turkey from the previous wasn't bad it just wasn't fresh roasted turkey as I had inquired ^^) and the sandwich came with cilantro, roasted pepper, spinach, cucumber, tomato, and I swapped the dill-mayo for cranberry sauce and this was yummy. So one star for Nicole and one star for my sandwich! FYI's The orange juice was priced at either $7 or $8 dollars. WTF! Also the info says full bar, I only noticed beer and wine...really cheap wine at that!

If you find yourself looking for a taste of home among paradise, I suggest you check out CJ's for a quick bite. They are one of the few places on the property that actually serve breakfast not in buffet form. They offer several types of eggs benedict. I had the crab cake eggs benedict and it was good. The prices are on par with the rest of the resort, which means you are paying double what the meal costs, but in the end it is a good option for something convenient and tasty on the hotel property. I will be back here again next time a find myself staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

Service. Quick, food good, slightly overpriced for lunch...But in Waikiki it's a good value. Lunch for two, including softdrinks and rather large sandwiches (and sides) cost $39.17

If you're in the mood for big fat deli sandwiches which comes with a side of fries (in person looks like an order instead of side version size this place is a place to check out. The salads looked pretty good size as well. The other people in my group enjoyed their sandwiches whether it be hot pastrami or turkey combination sandwich. The tuna salad sandwich, had more mayo than I liked & didn't have the crunch of some celery or herbs that I'm used compared to Croutons. Would consider returning there if ever craving for deli sandwiches. It's located inside the Hilton Hawaiian Village in the Rainbow Bazaar area.

There was nothing Big about my Sadie's Choice Corned Beef and Pastrami. 3 soft smooshy pieces of bread and a tomato slice that was larger in size than my portion of pastrami ( which was Very Tough ) The corned beef was better but there was not much of it. I had the fries with my sandwich and my wife had the potato salad with her Turkey sandwich. They filled my plate wih fries. Tons of fries! The Potato salad was good. I'm an older Jewish guy. Who grew up on Deli food. And I seek them out wherever I go. This got to be the worst I can remember visiting. Oh yeah The pickle was good. But $16 for a bad sandwich and $2.75 for an Iced Tea. Get real. This place is for dumb tourists only.

  • Gonen W.

The thing I liked best there was the fact that their fries were not salted. A real relief when it comes to worrying about your kids and yourself eating too much salt... We ate there twice during our vacation at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and it was a good, easy and reasonable priced option.

Hotel food at its finest. That is.... Finest at stealing people's money for horrendously prepared monstrosities. Mind you, most tourists who come here are mild mannered Japanese people who don't complaint out loud. But the Kichen staff must have gone to sleep. Hamburger patties were like a rock. I mean hard. Over cooked and over cooked, then microwaved to death until it became a ball of a rock. On top of that they sprinkled on what is called Umami powder on top. To westerners we simply called this the food poisoning and cancer causing substance called MSG. Same below sub standard Waikiki tourist trap preparation goes to the Loco Moco. The white rice was like a pudding of a gob or a mess of white stickiness rather than the typical plump and juicy sticky white rice. And again the hamburger pattie was microwaved to death. The Japanese style Umami powder once again showed up to the point that I only ate two bites of the whole thing. I know the hotels have to make money but this is just too much. I almost feel ashamed and guilty to present American food like this to the unsuspecting foreigners who will now go home and think the American food is horrible.

My boyfriend and I went for breakfast around 8:30 and it was pretty crowded already (but of course, it is Waikiki) but we were seated right away. They have a pretty large menu! They serve breakfast all day which I love! I ordered the short stack of blueberry pancakes and my boyfriend ordered the pastrami eggs benedict. The pancakes were huge and were pretty good. There were soo many blueberries on the pancake with tons of blueberries cooked into the center of the pancake. They leave regular maple syrup and coconut syrup. It was good, something I felt like I could have made though. My boyfriends pastrami benedict tasted really good! It was interesting because it was my first time trying it with pastrami. Overall, the service was great and very friendly. The food was pretty good and the price was actually not bad for Waikiki. I think we'll be back to try lunch or dinner!

Nice NY style deli not seen in Australia. Big servings, bread on sandwich not so good, but filling is great. The location may seem strange at first, located in a village style roadway, but actually adds to the feel. Worth a try for breakfast or snack.

Very disappointed. Not nearly as good as pictured on the menu. Ordered Kalua Pig Benedict. Nothing more than cut up pork on a English Muffin. Yuk. My husband ordered bagel, salmon and cream cheese. I/2 of a bagel. Not toasted. 1 slice of salmon. Pretty deplorable.

After walking around Waikiki, it's time for a lunch break. The next spot we tried at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. At first, we were seated... outside but not outside. We moved inside though since the sun was getting in our eyes. There are birds flying in and walking around looking for food. So if you drop something they will gather to you. I didn't know what to order, so I got the brisket and roast beef sandwich. Wrong idea. Our waiter said it would be plain and asked if I would like to add cheese, which I did. Swiss. It came with fries, even that was just "O-K." With the sandwich already pre-cut, I barely finished the first half and tired of it already. A lot of meat in that sandwich... Probably will get sick of eating it after a couple of bites.

I am not sure why people are leaving these lengthy, substandard reviews. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries. I am eating it right now, and its definitely one of the better burgers around the Hilton Hawaiian Village resort. Its was grilled to perfection and a very nice portion. I got ton of fresh hot fries! It was 18 dollars. And for a restaurant near or around a resort in Hawaii, thats a good price. I will go back here again!

This a good little spot right in the Hilton Hawaiian Village. I barely noticed it was there but I'm glad I did. Their menu seems to have a little bit of everything (I saw one table get spaghetti and meatballs and matzah ball soup at breakfast). We shared the triple play - macadamia nut pancakes with strawberries and coconut, loco moco (fried egg atop a wagyu beef burger and white rice with gravy) and eggs Benedict. Highly recommend it!

I've eating here 7 or 8 times thru multiple stays at Hilton. Breakfast is good, sandwiches are better and their garlic Hawaiian shrimp special is ok. They're a NY Deli place so ordering non breakfast or a sandwich (Pastrami, etc) can be a risky.. Never had any problems with staff, they'll even serve you if at a round table table outside while the round table staff won't help you if at a CJ table and want something from them.

Was at a workshop at Hilton Hawaiian Village. Stopped here before I left to go to a meeting and ordered a hot beef brisket sandwich and substituted tossed salad for starch (at the high price of $3 extra) for takeout. Two unfortunate things: 1) I did not check my receipt or order before leaving; and 2) I was so busy I did not get to eat until 4 hours later. Instead of brisket on rye, I found buttered grilled white bread (I was told it was sourdough, but it didn't taste like it), with brisket and cheese and green chiles. Not what I ordered. I picked off as many chiles as I could but the taste remained, overpowering pretty much the flavor of anything else. The bottom slice of buttered bread was fairly disgusting by this point. (To be fair, even if it was rye that hadn't been grilled, the bottom slice would likely have been at least somewhat soggy, but I don't think it would have been this bad.) I called the restaurant and the person who answered was nice and apologized, but that's it. Told me he didn't start work until 2:30 so he wasn't here at 12:15 when I ordered. It was a good sized sandwich, and they didn't skimp on the field greens or dressing. I ended up paying nearly $20 for a sandwich I didn't order or liked and some greenery. And now I have an upset stomach from the chile juice left on the sandwich. Learned my lesson - make sure to check my receipt and order before leaving the restaurant.

Friendly staff, great food. I was pleasantly surprised at how good this place was. I got a salad (best blue cheese dressing I've ever had), my husband had the chili cheeseburger, one kiddo had spaghetti and the other had grilled cheese. Our friend had a Reuben. Everyone cleaned their plate! They have a great assortment of food for anyone's tastes and they serve breakfast all day. Will definitely stop in again for a quick bite if the opportunity comes up!

Of all the places to eat in the Hilton Hawaiian village, this place is the spot! Now keep in mind that everything here is overpriced and cjs is no exception, but that's the name of the game I guess. I found that of all the overpriced restaurants, cjs and Benihanas are the only two restaurants in the village where you will actually get good food. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT eat at the pronto pickle located below the Ali'i tower.

Went here while staying at the Hilton. I concur with the Yelp rating presently (about 3 stars as of this writing). It isn't the Carnegie Deli or Katz, but does serve hot pastrami on rye. We went for lunch and the kids had pancakes (breakfast served all day). My sandwich (went with Chelsea's Special - pastrami and corned beef) was okay, not awesome, but not bad either. Rye bread actually was good and soft, not my usually rye experience. Macaroni salad was cold (good) but nothing to write home about. We sat outside. Big mistake. Birds everywhere and were annoying (had to wipe bird poop off the chair before we sat down). Kids had pancakes that were really, really good. Short stack is short, but HUGE...more than enough for me or kids. My guess is this place does better for breakfast than other offerings. The bill came and it was EXPENSIVE lunch. 4 adults (sandwiches) and 4 kids (pancakes), 1 coke. $160. O_O Anyhow, if you are looking for some type of deli food, this should give you your fix and is probably a good (albeit expensive) alternative for typical breakfast if staying nearby and sick of eating hotel food. Service/server was very helpful to our gluten-free traveler and knew the options well. He was very friendly and good.

My family & I enjoyed the food. Quality was fine but pricey. However, I can't remember going anywhere else that made decent sandwiches at a cheaper price on oahu. Service brings the rating down to 3. Nothing worse than spending $$ with snarky service. My vegetarian sandwich & friea was good. They didn't just throw some salad bits between bread. Good quality tomatoes with feta. My wife had a decent Reuben. Again, try finding a good Reuben on this island. The juices are small & expensive.

We've had breakfast and lunch. For breakfast I got the Triple Play (mini loco moco, bacon/tomato/avocado eggs Benedict and macadamia coconut pancakes). There was nothing mini about any of it. Everything was delicious. For lunch I have tried the Cobb salad and the corned beef Reuben-both delicious. The service had been exemplary. Yes, it's expensive. We've averaged about $20/person. Prices are on par with any resort restaurant. The food is well worth it. I've gone off property for the cheap breakfast. You get what you pay for.

Food is not too bad, but since it is in a very high rent part of the Hilton Hawaiian Village the prices are really steep for what you get. I have, granted, only been here for breakfast, which is really about 2 stars, but the lunch menu looks better so adding the extra star until I give the deli sandwiches a chance in the future. They just renovated a little over a year ago so it has a good atmosphere, TV's over the bar were nice since the NCAA Tournamnet was going on while we were there. There are a few outdoor tables and even inside it is nice and breezy with the open air setting. Owner of CJ's also owns the Round Table Pizza next door and Giovani Pastrami on Lewers.

The food and staff were excellent! Went there for breakfast and lunch a couple times during my 6 day stay. There is a huge variety of food on the menu. The pancakes with the coconut syrup is highly recommended. Also, I think it was called the triple play that had three different entrees, that was good. For lunch the Ruben sandwich was really good. Every time my wife and I went Dillon as our server. Dillon made our visit enjoyable and made us feel welcomed. He gave us tips about different foods to try while we were visiting the island and attractions to do; great customer service and a great guy!

Expensive and highly mediocre. Going to ABCs for breakfast next time... We had the trio sampler, and the meal just kinda lacked textured -- everything tasted the same and the only thing that delighted my palate was probably the coconut syrup + pancakes. If I ever come back, it would be just to get pancakes and that syrup again.

"tourist trap" :-( darn it another poor experience. Well it didn't take long for a party of 5 including a 5 year old to get hungry checking out the scenery of Waikiki beach. We were encapsulated in a bevy of hotels and shops, blinded by the light rep up like a deuce you know the roller in the night...:-) The group stepped inside this diner/restaurant. I couldn't figure out what this place was, there is a counter and behind is some photos of a meat sandwich (Asian writing below it), spaghetti and meatballs (Asian writing again), pancakes (Asian writing below it).....I am guessing these are something of a "bait" menu for Japanese tourists that don't speak English. They point, the cashier rings, they eat and go? Well lucky for us most in our party speaks English, we sat down and placed our order. I am kind of thinking "uh oh" this waitress is not writing down our order. It's Okay I guess I've seen wait staff who don't jot things down, but never mess up an order. Lana and Victoria order a pastrami sandwich to share and a big bowl of matzo ball soup. Andre also orders a pastrami sandwich and fries. Little Michael has his usual, hot dog plain and fries. I am the gambler in the house, kind of sick of burgers and meat sandwiches; I go face-to-face with a picture menu item, spaghetti! The stage is set...... The menu is very extensive here, breakfast, lunch and dinner served all day. There must be close to 100+ possible items to choose from and being that Waikiki is a international destination people from all over the world are dining here. "Give the people what they want", no matter what time zone they are physically or mentally stuck in. The prices are kind of steep and it seems $17 is the magic number. Hamburger $17, Meat sandwich $17, salads $17, pancake breakfast? probably close to $17. There are other items that can be had for even more money, like some pasta with shrimp for more than $17. After a time our server delivers our food items, the pastrami looks decent, the matzo ball soup okay. Can't really mess up a plain hot dog and fries, so Michael is happy. My spaghetti looks skimpy, watery sauce and cheap pasta noodles (there is a bad brand called American Beauty and this might be it). I try some and I am saddened that my gamble was a loss. The waitress has left, she said something, but not really su re what. Hmmmm? look, Andre has no food. Lana thinks maybe she said she will be right back with Andre's sandwich? I try to be well mannerized (ha ha) and slowly pick at my food. Several minutes go by and still no sandwich.....ugh! I bet she missed the order since she didn't write it down. I go up to the counter to inquire about they delayed delivery and sho nuff, there is no sandwich order for Andre. fumble! Soon, another girl delivers Andre's pastrami sandwich. Our waitress never came by again, no refill of my mountain dew or any other drink. After we were through I had to walk up to the counter again to ask for our check. 2 stars, the sandwiches were good, soup was too. Service, prices and my spaghetti was poor. "tourist trap"

Family and I tried 6 different entrees. Granted none of us tried anyting too exotic- we stuck to sandwiches, breakfasts, and salads- but we were all very satisfied with the meals and portion sizes. The place is a bit pricey- $16-18 for a deli sandwich seems a tad high- even for the location. However, we'll likely be back.

Still lousy. My husbands Reuben sandwich was soggy on the bottom, but was j"just ok". My chefs salad didn't come with meat. I didn't want to bring it up but this felt like an establishment you don't send your food back unless you want other additions when it just back to you. Children's menu is fine. Mac and cheese is 100% velvetta. Being that they get a new crop of customers ever week, this their saving grace. No way this place would make us depending on regulars.

Food so-so. Can't expect much from a $14 chili dog. kitchen staff horrible! sounded like a frat party with their obnoxious laughter and the Sound of coins hitting the ground. Truly made my dining experience an Uncomfortable one. Only saving grace was the respectable waiter but because Of the ill mannered Kitchen staff hooting and hollering wi+h no concern over the patrons l will NEVER go back, and will tell 0thers of my experience.

Just finished my second breakfast here, CJ's really lives up to its name of "New York Style". First morning had scrambled eggs with side of bacon, hash browns and whole wheat toast. Delicious! And great way to start your morning if your staying at the Hilton. They have everything from build your own omelettes to pancakes. My only regret is not going here for lunch, wouldn't be surprised if it's just as good... Giving this place five stars for food and exceptional service. Our waiter Dillon was very attentive and friendly, coming to our table often for refills of coffee and water, we didn't have to call for anything. Definitely coming back for my next stay!

Top pick: The CJ's Haupia French Toast. Skip the Macadamia nut and coconut pancakes and get this instead. Yes, it is $16, but there are 8 good slices of french toast with a generous serving of sliced strawberries and blueberries. The best part was the corn flake crust and the bottle of coconut syrup. Yes, you can definitely share this with someone but you probably will not want to share. This restaurant is fairly small, equal amounts of indoor and outdoor seating. Breakfast can get busy and it might be difficult to get a table for a party of 4 (we ended up being split into two tables for two right next to each other in the bar area). I would have taken a picture and uploaded it, but I ate the all of it too quickly.

Honolulu is severely lacking in these types of New York style delicatessens which I so adore. So here I am in the middle of Hilton Hawaiian Village on the west side of Waikiki. No matter what I know its going to be expensive. I have always wanted to try matzo ball soup...another one of my long time food obsession I've yet to try. And this is the only place on Oahu (besides Giovanni's Pastrami) that I know of that serves it. CJ's menu looks pretty vast but it's mainly variations of different types of deli meat sandwiches in one combination or other so making a decision can be rough. They also serve breakfast all day in addition to a menu consisting of appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pasta and dessert. There's even a keiki menu for kids under 12. They have a bar area as well if you want to catch a game on tv. It's a very casual open area restaurant with ceiling fans (no A/C) so it can get pretty warm in here especially if it's a muggy day with no trade winds. Chicken Noodle Matzo Ball Soup ($7) Small Bowl- The menu says "soups are homemade with fresh vegetables and ingredients." Sounds very promising. First off I'm skeptical whether or not the broth is homemade because it tasted like canned chicken broth to me. The noodles were vermicelli. I prefer a short, flat noodle. The noodles were also long like pasta so eating it was somewhat awkward. Vegetables were fresh as stated and nice and chunky. Chicken was visible but mainly micro sized pieces in my bowl. The matzo was yummy. Nice pillowy soft. I'm not sure if schmaltz (rendered chicken fat) was used but it had a light, savory mellow flavor to it. I have nothing to compare it to since I've never had one before. Overall I liked it. So although I'm not a fan of the broth this dish definitely had a comfort food appeal to me & would be something I would order again if I feel under the weather or am having a bad day. Hot Roast Brisket of Beef on Rye Bread ($14) With choice of fries, potato salad, macaroni salad or coleslaw. I made a wise decision choosing the creamy coleslaw because that brisket was dry. Nice flavor but too dry. The order of consumption went like this: Bite of sandwich, bite of coleslaw, bite of sandwich, bite of coleslaw, drink of water, repeat, etc. It could've use some au jus on the side. The brisket also fell out of my sandwich as I ate so it was a poorly constructed sandwich. Oh well, I guess I picked the wrong sandwich. I kind of want a do over & wished I had seen "The Sheboygan" which is a featured menu item at San Francisco Giants AT&T Stadium: A "naturally smoked bratwurst of veal & pork smothered in sauerkraut." ($12) includes fries & cole slaw. It wouldn't be the first time I would pay over $12 for a hot dog (Pink's in Las Vegas). My Overall Rating is 3 Stars. A-Okay.

Food is average and because of being close to the hotels the prices seem higher than other places in the area.

I enjoy the sandwiches here. It's a bit pricey but I love the sweet potato fries and the Pastrami rueben. They also do a good Kalua pork sliders. Only reason why I give it 4 stars is because it's like 20 dollars for a burger and fries. Kinda pricey but it's yummy.

Once again, my lunch time break for my NCLEX review class in Waikiki was spent on overpriced food. Yes, the food here is very overpriced for what it is. I didn't want to have to wait for my food, so once I left the hotel where my class was, I phoned in my order to CJ's. I decided to have breakfast for lunch, since they serve breakfast all day. I ordered the sausage & eggs combo, which for $15 comes with sausage, 3 eggs, choice of starch (country fries, sliced tomatoes, hash brown, rice) & a choice of toast or English muffin. I thought, okay, $15 is a lot for breakfast, but at least it comes with a lot. The food was ready to go by the time I got there, and there are tons of tables both indoor and outdoor to eat on. HOWEVER, I soon found out that this is NOT the kind of place where you can grab your takeout and pick any of the tables to eat at. Even though it looks like a grab your food and sit anywhere type joint, the waiter apparently seats you and it is DINE IN ONLY. The male waiter who rudely kicked me and my friend out from one of the outside tables made this very clear that this is their policy. He said I could dine in if they re-plated my takeout. Ummm, okay? I think this policy is dumb honestly, but it was the way in which he went about telling me this policy that lacked customer service. As for my plate? It was good. Nothing amazing to be honest, especially for the price. I wouldn't return, especially if I have to deal with the rude waiter again. No thank you. I wish I had taken my money back to Blue Water Shrimp next door. Better food for the price, better service, and you can sit at any of their tables when you order food (even if you ordered it to go!).

Just got here it took about 5 minutes to get seated and most of the employees past us by not even acknowledging us didn't feel the Aloha spirit! Will review once we get our food maybe I will change my mind of coming again...first impressions mean alot!

Their food is just ok. The garlic shrimp I order was not that good compare to Blue Water (see my Blue Water comment). They give me a lot of rice but no veggie and those rice is dry. I will not order from here if I have other choice.

Poor service and lousy food. Overpriced crappy Waffle House. The pancakes we're yucky and eggs tastes boring. The water tastes like toilet water. Never again.

Came here twice during our honeymoon, I got a western burger the first time, which was really good, good portion and the service was good. The second time I got a chili cheese dog and once again it was good with good service. I got fries both times, and the fries here are really good. The prices are a big steep but once again, this place is on resort property so its pretty much a given it won't be cheap.

Trying to find another breakfast place ironically and stumbled across this one by accident- but their 'Triple Play' from the Breakfast favourites part of their menu - was a winner. Came on a platter with three mini versions of their best-selling breakfast items which included a Mini Wagyu Beef Loco Moco + Mini Macadamia Nut & Coconut pancakes with strawberries as well as one Gourmet bacon, tomato, avocado eggs benedict. Really enjoyed this tasting platter and think it encapsulated the cuisine of Hawaii. Especially well with it's traditional loco moco dish with it's inclusion of Japanese-bred wagyu beef, where there is a great deal of Japanese influence and presence in the city of Honolulu. It was delicious. Always down for some pancakes and this one was just enough to satisfy without overwhelming the sweet tastebuds. Really liked the nut, coconut and berry combination. Lastly, eggs bene is always my go to at a cafe and having a mini one was perfect. Set up well in the style of a NYC restaurant, they have both indoor deli seating as well as outside if the sun is out. Though slightly hidden away in a corner, this one is worth a search for. Highly recommend that 'Triple Play'!

The price is a lil pricey but the food and service was great. Not complaining, if I didn't like the price I wouldn't have stayed. Yummy food and awesome service. Recommended.

Giovanni's Haupia French Toast with a side of Portugese Sausage is to die for! I ordered this meal twice in a 5 day period. Don't forget to top it off with the coconut syrup!!!

Ordered the pasta it was terrible, I gave it one star because waitress and management offered me another meal, but I had a bad taste in my mouth already, my husband enjoyed his sandwich though

The manager with the shaved/balding head is a total a-hole. I have never felt so personally attacked. Somebody needs to teach him what hospitality is. 1 star for u pal.

CJ'S NEW YORK STYLE DELICATESSEN @HHV: I had their take out Ruben Sandwich, Sweet potato fries and Caesar salad a few times in the past. A bit pricey but they all tasted good. I am happy with their food. If you don't eat them right away, the sandwich bread and fried potatoes get soggy.

CJ's offers New York/New Jersey style diner meals if you are craving non-Hawaii style food. They have plenty of options to choose from if you're craving breakfast anytime during the day. I definitely will hit them up again during our stay in Honolulu. Highly recommended.
