Zippy’s Pearlridge Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I've been to this location numerous times just because it is at Pearlridge and I live close to Pearlridge so I pretty much go to the mall all the time and stuff. One thing that I like about this location is the table and seating areas. There are a good decent amount of them around the dining area. Right next to the Zippy's counter is a bento area and Napolean's Bakery right by it on the side almost near Bale. Everytime I come over here the wait is usually pretty long even during non busy times. I guess the cook and chefs over here at this location like to take their time cooking the food. The staff and customer service at the counter is good. There parking convenience is pretty good. There is a lot of parking which shares it's stalls right by Sears. Zippy's is also right by Sears actually it's pretty much attached to it followed by several departments like by the watch/key repair kiosk and this optical section of Sears. The Zippy's is also one of the first things you see after getting off the bus from Kamehameha Highway side.

Went to Zippy's to pick up a chicken katsu platter for my husband's company pot luck. I had ordered the platter at least three hours in advance and when I came to pick it up it was still not ready. I arrived at 5:45pm on a sunday and it seemed like the cashiers were more concerned with balancing their regisers and clocking out (they close at 6pm on sundays) than with my order! Needless to say, I was irked. Luckily I saw one of my friends who works at the bakery section of that perticular Zippy's and she assembled my platter and sent me on my way with a smile and a "thank you." On a good note, the katsu platter was AWESOME and seems to be a good buy if you're on your way to a gathering. The price was a little over $20 and the quality and quantity of the platter was true "Zippy's comfort" style.

Located on the Kamehameha Hwy side of Sears, on the ground floor. This Zippys has got to be one of the slower ones. I am giving them the befifit of the doubt because of the limited space that the kitchen staff must have and the counter space that the cashiers have and no fresh breeze and no birds singing and no peddlers asking for money. Their bakery is always out of stuff so I dont even bother to look most of the time.

Honestly, I don't like writing bad reviews. It makes me feel guilty, like I'm gossiping or talking smack about someone behind their back. If I had my way, I'd write only about great restaurants and make myself look completely unreliable as a Yelper. But part of the experience is to review all sorts of restaurants/businesses, both good and bad. So here I go, sucking it up to gossip about Zippy's behind their back (I'M SORRY I FEEL HORRIBLE ALREADY!). I used to love Zippy's. From their hamburger steak to their fried noodles to their oh-so-stinkin-delicious Napples, Zippy's food has definitely been a previous staple in my life. But over the years, the portions have shrank, the quality has declined, and the prices have jumped (skyrocketed). There's still a certain sense of nostalgia about going back but I have to say that, for me, Zippy's has definitely lost its gleam. I'll go back occasionally for a Napple or mini spaghetti, or after a late night of fishing when it's the only open restaurant in the area, but in general, I try to steer clear of it. Sorry Zippy's ... it's been a good run. Maybe one day, when things have settled down for you, we can try again.

Zippys up until recently was good food, small portions, expensive pricing..I guess they finally realized that with the economy they better offer more value. I noticed they dropped their prices to closer compete with other restaurant offering same fare at alot better value. I can honestly say their food is good but I never did care for the restaurant itself. They weigh everything and charge alot more for alot less. Hopefully they continue with evening out their prices to match their portion sizes.

I usually love Zippys. Today, I just had a really bad experience. This was my first time coming to this one. Just our luck, the registers were down. They had ONE person trying to write down orders and 3 or 4 people trying to figure out prices. Mind you, they were making the customers read off the prices of their food. Take out menus were right there! I tried to bring this to one of the workers attention and all I got was an attitude letting me know that tax also had to be calculated. I know that. That's why they invented something called a calculator. Anyway, their registers began working again after about 10 minutes (yes, we were second in line and had to wait this long just to order). I ordered a mini beanless chili chicken mix plate w/brown rice and toss salad. Surprisingly I got a chili chicken mix plate with beans and Mac salad. When I went to let them know, again all I got was interrupted and an attitude. I think I'll just stick to other Zippys Restaurants. Hope you guys have a better experience then I did.

Portion size always sucks at Zippys. This location is okay because they have an okazuya and bakery. They don't sell malasadas here and they are only open during mall hours. Not your typical 24/7 Zippys.

Overpriced, shrunken portions, It was one of the hot spots about a decade ago, but due to the actions listed above,.. I have stayed away from this place...

Initially I went to a Zippy's at the beginning of this year based on a referral to try the Portuguese Bean Soup, and it was delicious so I had to come back and have some more. Albeit it has been a couple different Zippy's I didn't have a problem with either one!.

  • Brian S.

Pretty average for being such a famous place. Fried chicken was very good, Korean chicken was 50% fried skin and 50% fried chicken. I wonder. If the other Zippys are better? Plus, this one was inside the Sears..........

Maybe I'm a little spoiled from all the great food in LA. Zippys was decent. Definitely better food here than a laua, now isn't that just sad....

Zippy's Pearlridge is part of the island wide chain of Zippy's restaurants. I remember back in high school going to zippys McCully because it was pretty much the only hang out around. Now Zippy's is an island wide chain of great food and sometimes very healthy choices. My favorite choice through the decades has been Zippy's chili with cheese & onions now served over brown rice. Now there's a combination that pairs Zippy's chili with their fried chicken. Totally amazing but definitely a guilty meal. When I'm in the mood for it it is immensely satisfying. This location in Pearlridge shopping center makes for a great meeting spot because it is located at the front of Pearlridge shopping center, very easy to find with a huge parking lot located directly in front. It is set up like a full service restaurant with booths and tables but it is self service. That keeps the price low and the atmosphere very low key. For casual meetings in Pearlridge area, it is strongly recommended.

The Mahi Mahi sandwhich was pretty good. Not excellent but tasty. Needs a sauce to set it off. The reason I vote 2 stars is because they don't offer free refills on drinks. A fountain drink refill is literally a fraction of the cost. I'm not going to pay full price for a refill. With as many Zippys that are on the island, one would think this would be an added luxory to eat here.

Went here to redeem fundraiser coupons. The cashier started to punch the coupons (to make them invalid) before checking to see if they had the quantities of the items we were asking for. It took abnormally long to collect frozen goods. Also, we got chocolate chip cookie dough, but they mixed it with chocolate chip walnut. Good thing I didn't have a nut allergy. My husband also ordered a mini pac while there. The cashier kept insisting that it was the plate. Back and forth they went, since she didn't know the menu. Thumbs down for employee performance.

20 min for a wun tun min. REALLY. Are you rolling the noodles? The noodles are hard and not cooked. Should have fought the traffic and went to Shiro's.

Breakfast is okay. For the price, the portions need improvement. I came in for some diner coffee. But I didn't want to drink coffee on an empty stomach. Customer service is good. The diner coffee is refillable. As I wait for a certain store/business to open, I'm glad this place is within walking distance. Overall, 3 stars for consistent diner food and service.

I ate at another Zippy's location today! Yay me! I had the Chicken Katsu. It was a little over cooked for me and I do not like their Katsu sauce, however you can't go wrong with Zippy's Mac salad. Their Mac salad is my favorite on island. The staff here today was super friendly like I've experienced at all the Zippy's. Tip: ask for the bathroom key if you need to use the bathroom by the red brick wall. 1 stall for all. :)

Lines were long everywhere today for breakfast. I guess no one wanted to cook for valentines day. Well, neither did I. We tried IHOP but the wait was over an hour. We tried big city diner and the wait was over half an hour. Plus it was pouring rain. So we decided to go to pearl ridge and get a parking under the garage so we wouldn't get wet. We decided to have breakfast at Zippys since it was right there. The line wasn't very long but it was pretty crowded. Half of the crowd was the usual seniors that go there daily. The table was dirty so I went to the counter to ask for some napkins to wipe it but the lady said she would wipe it. I told which table it was and she wiped 3 other tables before she got to ours. We ordered our food and the cashier was very pleasant and patient. We waited long for our food and when we finally got it, my daughters ever easy eggs was raw and runny. It wasn't just a little runny, it was like the cracked an egg in the plate and served it to us. They cooked us 2, more eggs after my hungry daughter ate half of my plate waiting for her 2 cooked over easy eggs. My husband went to the counter to ask for napkins so we could take out the raw eggs from the plate and when he asked for napkins, he was asked " what did you need them for?" WTF. In the middle of eating, my grandson had to use the bathroom. I went to the counter to ask for the key. The lady said that someone must be in there because the key wasn't there. So we waited by the door for the person to come out. No one came out. We finally couldn't wait and ran all the way to the bathroom in sears. I asked my daughter if they saw anyone come out from the bathroom. She said no. Later on,, some other kids had to use the bathroom and the lady walked to the door and checked that it was locked. She walked back to the counter and actually found the key. So, the key was there the whole time while we waited by the door earlier, for nothing!! What a horrible experience. I have been here many times and it has never been this bad. But, because of this experience, this place will definitely be avoided!!

Good food but some shitty ass pancakes , don't go for breakfast , almost every zippys I go there pancakes are gross , dry , and spoil tasting

Dined in, this place is always crowded that sometimes they need more room for those waiting to order. The table my brother chose to sit at was a bit sticky. Fruit punch... must be a kid (that sat there before us). Along with the saimin and won ton my brother and dad ordered I got the ox tail soup which the cashier said would take a while before it would be out. My dad was getting impatient, lol I didn't tell him it was because of my order. When it finally got called. I didn't expect it to be in containers but then again we weren't really dining in. My rice came on the side and I slowly added the broth over to my rice. So hungry that I burnt my tongue a few times while trying to eat. Totally worth it but costs a bit. Rice portion to meat, too little, need more!

This Zippy's is at the end of the mall inside of the Sears building. I usually go to the Zippy's on Kapahulu near Waikiki. In comparison, this Zippy's has more seating but seems to have bland food. I got the Hotdog with Chili. It came with steamed white rice. The rice was old and hard. was hard not because it was cooked wrong. It was hard because they gave me old rice that had been left in the steam cooker all day long. The food did not seem as fresh as the Zippy's on Kapahulu. There was nothing on my plate that seems worth the wait or trouble of going to Zippy's. Do yourself a favor and find a different location or go to a different restaurant entirely.

Food wasn't that great and it was overpriced for what they offer. They also charge full price for a refill on your drink, the restaurant wasn't clean. I was not at all impressed. 1 star for location.

Walked in for breakfast after a doctors appointment and saw there was quite a lot of people. Thought they were in line to order but it turns out they were waiting for their food. This Zippy's in particular needs to make it clear where the line to order is and where to wait because if there's just a whole bunch of people standing around, how can you tell? Service is alright compared to the other Zippy's on island, but the Portuguese bean soup is always consistent and tastes great

  • Bruce M.

Yooooo i love the food at this location!!!! Whoever the chef is at night keep! Burger was crisp, fish was fresh and the food just tasted better than all the other zippys. Yeah kalihi and winward can learn from you guys!! Thank you again for your service!!

Extremely disappointed by the teri hamburger steak plate. I swear I paid 10 bucks for a dried out "May's Meats" style patty. What happened to the "home made" style hamburger? As another reviewer commented, the prices are going up and the quality is going WAY down. The chili may be decent, but if everything else is going to be lower quality, I won't be going back any time soon.

Zippys will always be a Hawaii trademark but I honestly feel like it's overrated. The prices have gone UP and the portions have gone DOWN. This specific location has gotten my order wrong more than once. And not to mention served me and my daughter RAW CHICKEN! I was absolutely disgusted. I mean they did make me wait 20-30 mins for my Korean fried chicken... It should've been cooked all the way. Needless to say.. I'm taking a LONG break from zippys.

Zippys have been very apologetic to what happened to me on my previous visit. Enough reassurance have been given to me to give this location another chance. Updated stars for awesome customer service from the main staff.

Five stars. No can go wrong with Zippy's! Zip Pac, Surf Pac, Saimin, Chili, Zip Min, fried chicken, the list goes on! I just had the Surf Pac and Chili for lunch & boy, was it great! Comfort food for the local soul. If all else fails, Zippy's don't! Aloha!

Bought some donuts from the bakery and the employee helping she didn't even greet me with a hello or hi, looked so grumpy to have to help me after just helping someone before me, and sorry I didn't specify which chocolate donut, she took her sweet time getting to donuts and waited for someone else to finish ringing me up, and I noticed she wasn't wearing a name tag so lady with the eye glasses and flower in your hair, learn how to smile and greet your customers and pretend you like being at work. Sorry but I used to work food service and that kind of attitude is not acceptable.

  • Michelle L.

Chicken Katsu curry, the daily special was pretty good. Ordered two salads but because they were back logged so we had to wait for about 25 minutes for our food. Kind of the main reason for my rating. The salads were just so so.

Is Pearlridge so undervalued in terms of malls and dining experience that we must fill it only with places that give us the bare minimum? I've never been to a worse Zippy's, counter service or dine-in. They took forever, they were messy and chaotic, and do not offer refills even if you want to pay for it- you have to purchase a totally new drink. Come on!! I used to come here a lot and forgot why I stopped coming, but after my last experience here I remember.

This review is for Osaka Okazuya, not the main dining counter. I tried this Okazuya a long time ago at the Ala Moana location, but I don't remember whether or not it was good. I created my own combination of Nishime, Okinawan Sweet Potato Tempura and Fried Rice, total under $7. Other options were the teri hamburger, teri hot dog, chow fun, pork w/eggplant, pork w/tofu and anadagi. The nishime was a mix of the usual suspects: gobo, carrots, seaweed, chicken, konnyaku, shiitake mushrooms and araimo. Overall the nishime had good flavor. The sweet potato tempura was a good sized piece and the tempura batter wasn't soggy, which was a plus. Their fried rice was standard. In addition, they also had pre-packaged bentos that varied in price. Overall 3.5 stars.

I went to Zippy's on one of my recent vacations about two weeks ago was told by a family member that it's a must try, since I'm from the mainland all we ever eat is L&L. Boy was it good!! I had the mahi mahi combo and my hunnie had the surf pac combo. We feel that it was a reasonable price being that the food was delish!! We will definitely eat at Zippy's on our next stay.

  • Kathy A.

Some of the Zippys don't have as extensive menu as others as is the case of this location. We sent our D-I-L off with everyone's menu choices for take out but she returned with several substitutes that made for a couple of unhappy diners! My Portuguese Bean soup was pretty good but my husbands chili loco moco was not. This will not be my next Zippys choice.

Gosh, it was late, a weeknight, we were tired, hey, what better than to have a nice steaming bowl of saimin before going home. Boy, was I wrong... We ordered a small and large saimin, two pieces of chicken and an order of fries. MISTAKE! I guess the fries took a while to cook or something. I remember my gf telling me that she thought the two saimins on the tray sitting on the counter were ours. Yep, they were. When our order was finally complete, I knew what was going to happen, uh huh, soggy saimin. Rather than voice my frustration to the counterpersons, I asked for some extra soup. Just as bad. I know Zippy's is no saimin stand of yesteryear, but come on! Geez, at least rinse the noodles throughly when cooking is done so it's not so gummy and floury and last but not least, add the soup when the order is complete. Man, I miss those days of eating at the likes of Green Lite Inn and Jane's and it makes me sad to think they're gone... If only the saimin at Zippy's tasted as good as it looks in the pictures in their menu it'd be halfway decent...

i dont know who would yelp zippys except for a tourist- all the locals know it in and out..but its the joint in hawaii to get a quick meal whether it be morning, lunch, dinner or latenight after the clubs and bars. enjoy the island favorites and try everything. the food is quality although the prices have gone up a lot over the years. my favorites are the korean chicken and the chili

It's a nice place to go to when you're craving for local grinds near the pearl ridge area. They are a take-out only location, which makes it faster to get food than most zippy's with a restaurant. Conveniently located right next to Pearlridge Sears. Would I go again? Of course, it's Zippy's. Foodie of the night? Can never go wrong with Korean Fried Chicken or a Zip Pac no beef extra Hoki. Always a pleasure to have an Apple Napple for dessert.

Its never crowded here and I always enjoy stopping for a snack or meal before/after shopping. This location is the forgotten Zippy's, being that its in Sears and easy to pass while driving on Kamehemeha Highway. I ordered a large portuguese soup ($3.60) and a piece of fried chicken. Orders are ready very quickly and if you are craving a dessert, the bakery gives you many options.

PBS...Portuguese Bean Soup is a winnah. Nice light lunch item. Tasty and inexpensive. Large order under $4. Hard to beat....

You must try the Chili Moco. Since I love there mac salad....FYI there special sauce under the patti is the mac salad mayo! AHHHHHHHH ok...chicken is good, so is the chili....then again almost everything is. Support local business and the Higa family. They have since reduced prices while renovating most locations and adding new items.

This Zippy's is sort of inside the Sear's that is inside the Pearlridge Shopping Center. It is a Zippy's on one side, with order and take to your table like service. On the other side, is a Japanese sub-restuarant of Zippy's, called Osaka Okazuya. At Zippy's, you can order all the standard Zippy Items. But it isn;t as cheap as it might be anymore. Chicken Katsu is $7.25. A small root beer is $1.65. So 2 Chicken Katsu and 2 drinks with tax is nearly $20. Chicken Katsu was all right. Service was kind of slow. On the Osaka Okazuya side, there is a separate staff, menu and register. They have little da kine Hawaiian deli style choices, to mix and match. I went for Chicken Long Rice ($2.95), Sweet Potato Tempura ($1.30), Spam Musubi ($1.80), the Okinawan dessert called Andagi ($0.72) and a diet coke ($1.85). The Andagi is basically a tennis ball size ball of dough, deep fried. Greasy! The spam Musubi and Chicken Long Rice were good, as well as the veggie tempura.

It's been about 26 years since I've had some Zippy's. Upon arriving at Hickam AFB, one of my braddas brought me a Zip Pack to get me started. Over the next 2 weeks, I must have had lunch at Zippy's Pearlridge at least 6 times. Then, there were the times that I had to fly and bought one or two Surf Packs to stick in my cooler for the flight. The fried chicken and chili combo is heaven to a local who's been away for too long. I'm back in Cali now, having Zippy's withdrawls. The service and all that other stuff was average. I mean, it's fast food. I didn't have to wait long, the employees were nice and the place was clean. Opening my cooler in flight, I'd rather see a Surf Pack in there than a Subway sandwich, anyday. Lucky you live Oahu. ;)
