Never in my life would I have thought I'd write a review on yelp , but this just did it for me . If it was possible to rate no star plus a negative star I would . I work in the mall from open to close , that's 11.5 hours stuck in this building . And a girls gotta eat !!! I've eaten here a couple times before this incident . I always ordered a spicy steak bowl (not a bit spicy) . They are priced at $5.99 which is petty good to me . The last couple times I came here I asked to have my steak medium rare . The wait is ridiculous !! I'd say I would wait about 20 min for a bowl ! Cooking a medium rare steak should be maybe 3-5 minutes tops for each side . But 20 min !!! Am I waiting for the rice to cook too !? But what gets me is I get my bowl back and it's ALWAYS well done . The steak taste good I ain't gonna lie . But they need to get the cooking of the meat on point . But that's not what got me worked up today , which is the last time ima be ordering from them . So once again I ordered a extra spicy steak bowl and I wanted it RARE this time , so hopefully they'd make it not to well done . Nope ! Once again a 20 min wait and it's well done again . I had it , I ask the cashier to call his boss because I had the same problem a couple times prior . And I told him what was wrong and he just said , "oh well I didn't cook it!" I didn't ask if he did or did not cook it I asked for my steak to be rare I exaggerated it when I placed my order and reminded the cashier to let the back know that I wanted it red . The customer service from the cashier was great but his boss not to well with handling customers . So the boss STEVEN took my bowl back and said he'll fix it for me . Maybe 8-10 min later he comes back and shows me the bowl with steak and rice and it looked perfect ! What a damn surprise ! So I take my bowl to the condiment section with the redhot hot sauce , shoyu , salt and pepper that's set up on a gate from a truck bed (love it) ; and I'm about to put some shoyu on my rice but I paused as I seen something I didn't like . There was literally soup in my bowl that just missed covering the top of my rice . (Was so upset I wasn't wvwn thinking of taking a picture of it) I took my bowl back to the counter and asked the cashier to call his boss back once again , he came back real quick . "Is there something wrong " sounding all concerned about me and my situation . And me being me was like "yeah something is wrong , why is there soup in my bowl almost passing my rice?" Showing him as I tip the bowl to show him . "Oh that's just our sauce ?" Yeah right !!!! I got this bowl two other times and never have I seen that much liquid in my bowl . I believe be used the same rice which was fine with me , but drenching it was whatever it was was so unnecessary . He insist of taking it back and fixing it once again . In my head I'm thinking , heck that you ain't making my food . "No it's fine" i said " I rather have a refund " . He sighed and handed my money back . I was so heated he didn't say another word I just said thank you and walked off . So the cashier that helped me with my order comes down to my kiosk and I find out he's a friend of my neighbor kiosk and told me that his boss said "she irritated me , it's food just eat it !" He also states to the cashier that he does not stay in the front only because it also irritated him when potential customers look at his menu and walk away . So he does them the favor of walking away first to hide in the back . So again I will not recommend stopping here for a bite to eat . Yes it's cheap but you get what you pay for .

This is a tough one. On one hand there is the very pleasant girl taking the order. She's smiling and very friendly. Then there's the owner in the front complaining about the clientele that frequents the area. Apparently the food is too over priced for him to continue business since most of the people that come to the food court want McDonalds. The weird part was someone was telling him that they came to the food court because they had a good meal from the "other" Champion's Steak and Seafood in Royal Hawaiian. The owner claimed that there were no other Champions - but when I look in Yelp, yes, it's there. Weird. Then he said the "other place" didn't cook to order and just warmed their steaks under a lamp. Whatever. These comments continued with another customer until I got my order. When I received my order, the girl at the counter was very pleasant. It didn't take that long. Got home and the rice is soaked with butter/garlic sauce. IMO too much over the top. The steak was cooked fine and got compliments. The shrimp looked good as well. So end result, is food is OK.

My wife and I came by this unassuming little place on our way to Panda Express. It was a pleasant surprise, our service was good, friendly, and the food was much better than I hoped it would be. Steak bowl was done how I wish many places on island should do it. Steak wasn't over or under cooked and the rice was cooked right. I'm surprised at a lot of the reviews. I would assume that most people don't like to wait 10 minutes for their food because the food here is actually cooked after you order, rather than going to the Panda Express or Sbarro where you have it instantly. This little place deserves better location to thrive.

Why does it take 20 minutes to get a simple, off the menu, chicken bowl from this place? It's not busy, no one else ordering. Maybe that should've been my clue to NOT order from this poor excuse for a mall fast food joint. The apathetic female cashier didn't help their case, she seemed annoyed by people ordering from her. Oh, and the food was nothing to write home about.

I ordered a well done steak bowl. It was delishhhhh It was cooked how I wanted it! So yummy!! :)

I ordered the steak and shrimp plate and right after I ordered I realized that they had more of a menu on the counter. And saw a steak and fish compo for the same price. So I asked if he could switch it to that since I just ordered it. And he told me no. Since it already went through. I literally just ordered it. Well Steve doesn't understand what coustmer service is.

  • Theresa W.

The food is so reasonably priced and delicious! Some of the best fries I have had on the island! We will definitely be eating here again and again. Not used to eating so well at the food court. The food seemed so fresh!

Really? no wonder there was no line. Spent $17 on a steak and shrimp plate. Asked for medium-rare and there's a sign that says they will cook medium-rare unless specified. Opened the plate and cut the steak it was well done. Don't expect anything fancy when you ask for spicy shrimp either. Just shrimp drizzled with sriracha.

I normally don't give just one star, but this place was literally that bad. I ordered a steak plate, and the person taking the order was really nice. however it took FOREVER. it was made of 2 small kine pieces of steak, 2 scoops of rice that had way to much water in it, which made it soggy. and a small salad. I am a fan of steak plates, but not this one. for the first time in my life I can say that I have not finished a steak plate and threw it away. what a waste of my money. Also the place is pretty empty, and they hold your drink from you until your order comes up. there Is no where to sit which, if your standing for 10/ 15 minutes ( which I was) then it becomes a pain. I would much rather drive to Kailua, and get a 10 dollar plate that will offer more flavor and more food for my money. sadly I will never be going back here again.

So I hate to give bad reviews, especially for new businesses but the food here is not worth the $9.99 that you spend on a plate. I ordered the teriyaki filet, my boyfriend had the signature filet, and my mom ordered the teriyaki burger. The steaks were advertised to have two scoops of rice and a side salad. Each of our plates had one scoop of rice and a pinch of chopped up cabbage. And when I say a pinch, I mean a pinch. You could not tell that I had a teriyaki steak, there was none of that sweet teriyaki flavor present. My boyfriend's signature filet was terribly salty and the meat was so dry. All my mom could say was that she would never go back again. They also cook to order which means the wait for your food is long. The only reason for the one star is that the cashier was very friendly. We won't be eating there again. Should've spent a dollar more to get a tempura/teri chicken combo at Tsuruya...

  • Aaron O.

This place gets too much hate from my own experience. Their portions aren't the greatest, I'd describe it as moderate. My wait time was about 5-7 minutes after ordering a medium-well steak plate, which is fast in my opinion as the steaks have to be cooked, most of the other places in the food court have warmed food which can be served instantly so I can understand the complaints about a "long wait". After eating there a few times I can say that their steaks are certainly of better quality than Blazin' Steaks.

  • Ben T.

This time I got their garlic chicken bowl and for 4.99 it's worth it! The chicken was tasty and fried just right without too strong of a garlic taste. It's also an excellent value with a good amount of chicken and rice for the price. I also liked how they put the right amount of sauce in the bowl. Finally the cashier (Alen) did an outstanding job with greeting everyone and always checking on the customers who were sitting in the seating area that they have.

    (5)
  • Jeremy W.

I know it's mall food so I didn't expect too much but the portions are tiny, salty and just plain gross. I paid way too much for 4 tiny undercooked pieces of shoe leather they call steak. I spit my food out and put it in the trash, no joke. Beware!

    (1)
  • Jenny C.

I would have given no star if i could.... Damn, wasted $15 for food that was extremely salty, my palate and tongue feels like its been salted for days!!!! Cant believe they cant even make simple rice, was mushy and nasty!!!! The white guy that cooks there, he has that odd stare.. Never will i eat here again.....

    (1)
  • Jason L.

First of all, the food was amazing. The steak was exactly how I ordered, the shrimp in butter sauce was awesome-especially pouring the butter sauce into the scoop of rice. Okay, that is the most important reason I am giving 5 stars. Another reason is the staff is incredibly friendly, anticipated my needs and in my opinion were aiming to get me my lunch as quickly as possible. I did wait a little longer on one occasion but because so many people were ordering-to me a good sign the food is worth the wait. And it is worth the wait. Champion's is a very unique offering at the food court in Pearl Ridge. When I am working in the area I look forward to eating here. I recommend giving this place a try at least once. I am a regular and never had a problem and never had a plate that didn't exceed my expectations.

  • Romeo D.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!! Pics were deceiving, the price and proportions sucks! Nice cashier. Should change their names to "CRAPIONS MINI PORTIONS" Don't waste your money here.

    (1)
  • R B.

I'm confused by the reviews cause I came here and got the steak/Gyoza combo plate and my steak was so rare it was red and bloody. So bloody that it got all over my rice and salad. Which by the way the salad was already warm and soggy because it was under the steak. The service was also slow and unfriendly. It was expensive and so not worth the price. I suggest not coming here you can get bento plates all over the island that are cheaper and tastier.

    (1)
  • Kris Y.

This place is absolutely horrible! I bought the Fish & Chips for $10 and what a rip off! 3 tiny pieces of obviously frozen fish and the buggas weren't even fried all the way. The batter was soft and the pieces were the size of chicken nuggets. I had to wait 10 minutes for my $10 meal, which didn't even come with a drink. The guy after me tried to pay with a large bill but because they didn't have enough change, they made him use his card. Pretty sure this crap place will go out of business in no time. Clearly it is run by amateurs.

    (1)
  • Kandra A.

For starters the cashier lady didn't even ask me how I wanted my steak, I thought that was odd but didn't notice till I got my plate and looked at it when I was on the bus and I like medium rare and the steak was well done i got a "4oz steak" and 3pc of SMALL ASS SHRIMP ! 10$ ! I wasted 10$ so I could stay hungry ! the portions are small !!! The "4oz steak" was about a CM thick and was about 3x4in..... "4oz" my ass ! The shrimp sauce was good I have to admit but the portions are just ridiculously small and the meat only had taste when I dipped the meat in the shrimp sauce ......

  • Frank G.

Champions is way overpriced for the quality and quantity of the food they serve. I ordered a large steak and shrimp plate. The taste and preparation were okay but the steak itself was not a very good cut of beef. Blazin' Steaks certainly serves better meat. On top of the price for the plate, the owner charges 52 cents extra for A1 steak sauce. He also charges for drink refills where other restaurants in the food court do not. I asked about their cheeseburger plate because I wanted to know how big the burger was. I was told that it was a quarter pound burger. For $9 I would have expected a third pound at least. All - in - all I was not impressed with this restaurant.

    (1)
  • Nalani S.

Ordered a mochiko chicken bowl and a steak bowl. The wait wasn't too bad. Don't let their pictures of the food fool you...the actual portion size is smaller. The chicken and steak had good flavoring though. I would have rather paid a little more for less rice and more chicken/steak.

  • Brittany L.

So they gave me completely burnt food. I asked for my money back. The cook came out and ate the burnt chicken I returned and exclaimed how good it was. Then they sat and watched me eat the food I bought from somewhere else! All the while waving at me. Talk about poor customer service..oh and took 20 min to burn those 4 wings and fries I paid $9.00 for..beware!

  • Heather D.

I finally took the chance and decided to grab a bite here. Staff was very kind and sweet. I ordered the cheeseburger which was alright. I'm a burger and fries type of gal but the fries were stale and kinda chewy-tough. The flavor of the burger was good but definitely not a place for the burger connoisseur! I probably would not eat here again.

I'm not a fan of court food but I couldn't resist trying a new establishment. We looked at the menu and decided on steak for my boyfriend and garlic shrimp for myself. I asked about brown rice and they said they don't offer it. Bummer! I was optimistic and excited until I saw my plate. I had 6 pieces of shrimp with two big scoops of white rice and old looking salad off to the side. The meat to rice ratio is wayyyyy off here. My rice also had grease marks on it and I don't know how it got there. Needless to say, the food satisfied my hunger. I left one rice ball on my plate and so did my boyfriend. His steak was cooked well-done and it wasn't burnt. It did taste okay. Food = 2 stars Friendly workers = 1 star Complete rating = 3 stars I would go back and try a burger. The picture displayed on their menu looked pretty good. I would also go back and order double meat with whatever I choose. It'll be pricey but I think I would be happy.

Here are some things you can do while you wait for your meal: -watch a movie (luckily the theater is right behind you) -get your oil changed at Sears - Go downstairs for some dental work - go home and cook some rice (the rice here is terrible) - walk to the corner of Kaonohi and Kam Hwy to give the homeless girl 2 bucks -Get a mani-pedi at Amour (no need to catch monorail...you have time) So productive!! The food here is great for the price, but use my list to manage your time wisely!!!

The food was good. I wish they took the shells off the shrimp before serving it. The steak was cooked well. The two young men were very well spoken and hospitable. Thanks guys

This would've been a whole lot worse if the employee manning the shop wasn't so darn awesome and accommodating.... to you sir, I believe another star is in order. But I'm sorry.... the food here is just cooked.... so sorrily. The steak was cooked medium, just like I wanted, but it was way too salty. The garlic fries were a soggy undrained mess of garlic and salt, so much that all I could taste was salt and oil. Talk about palate overload! The shrimp was just over salted as well. I'm not sure what was going on, but lemon shrimp just ain't lemony enough for all that salt. The acidity is just burned out and neutralized. Is it just the post-lunch time rush that made the cook use so much salt? lilikoi drink: no complaints for that.

My steak was over seasoned to much salt and pepper i wasnt given a knife i asked for medium rare and im not even sure if it was safe for me to eat it the chef seemed more interested in talking to his friends that on my food i wasnt satisfied with my food at all and i payed over $10

I haven't been in Pearlridge mall for a while, so when my boyfriend and I saw a new establishment we figured we'd give it a go. I would've gone for one star but the cashier was so nice and customer service definitely counts for something. I had the tropical fish while the bf got the steak and shrimp combo. The fish was ok. Not amazing or a nice size portion (which I figured it would be since the price is $11.99) and not something I'd need to order again. We ordered the steak medium, it came out more like medium rare. Just entirely pinky/red and chewy, but thankfully not bleeding. The taste was fine. And the garlic shrimp looked appealing but that was also just ok. In all honesty, I could've whipped up a tastier meal. And between me and the bf, he's definitely a much better cook. The kicker to the low rating was the rice. I think it was pre-scooped onto the plate, which is why it was lukewarm and hard. I dug into the center of the scoop and although the rice there was a little better, it was still noticeably crunchy. All in all, I didn't really care for our meal.

I was expecting nothing from this place. There was only 1 customer. I did t expect a place I. a mall food court would be able to cook my steak the way I wanted it. we had just done Aiea Loop trail and I was craving steak. So I took the chance. Surprisingly the cook got it just perfect. I didn't want rice so they gave me all salad. The steak was fine without sauce and just the Montreal seasoning. I will definitely come back.

I Went there with an Open Mind on Friday, Now I Know why they have no Line's, I waited for ever for my Steak plate, And Check this out" I ordered my Steak Med Well, It was Burnt with rare inside, and to make it worst Two Huge Rice soggy Rice and a pinch of Salad, Are U serious! It was bad I threw my plate away wasted 10 bucks for nothing, People Do not waste your Time in this Place, I'm a Professional Cook myself, I know a Good Plate when I see one, And This Ain't Definitely A Good One, This was the worst Experience Ever, I Know Alot of Good Places to eat at a reasonable than This Place, They have the worst Management and very Inexperienced Cook's there, This Place is a No Go Trust me!

This is my first time eating at this place, and in this mall. The cashier was super friendly and bubbly. Our food came out in a timely manner. The grilled steak was full of flavor and the shrimp was very tasty and cooked perfectly. And a large drink for $1 and free refills is a great deal!

I ordered the Champion cheeseburger. I was impressed with the quality and taste of my burger and fries. The staff was very friendly and professional. I also got a military discount with my meal. I didn't have to wait too long for my good. I only wished my burger was bigger lol. I read one review that the business is going to close done soon. I hope not I work downstairs from the food court. I will definitely be back soon.

When we arrived, they had no customers in front of us. The food was a bit pricey but thought it may be worth it - LOL! How wrong we were. I ordered a shrimp plate and I think there were 4 or 5 tiny pieces of shrimp (see my pics). It was shocking to see the amount of fries and the condition (burnt). Will never eat here again. We actually warn people about eating here

the food here is way over priced. I got the steak and gyoza combo and my girlfriend got the steak bowl. $6 for a steak bowl w/ 4 small pieces of meat and rice. they ask you how well you want the steak. I asked for medium and my gf asked for medium well. both plates came well done. why even ask? the only good thing about this place is you can choose between aloha and Kikkoman shoyu.

    (1)

So looking at the reviews.. everything makes sense First off the lady taking our order was nice and courteous. The food however.. totally disappointing. portions ridiculously overpriced for the amount you get.. Ordered a steak bowl with white rice... white.. rice.. instead got a bowl with the white rice literally drenched in the sauce from the steak. Brah if I wanted shoyu on my rice I wouldve asked.. first and last time being here definitely.

All of the other reviews about the long wait and the overcooked steaks are true! The customer service on my visit was okay. I ordered two steak plates "well done" and a steak bowl "medium rare". I was the only customer there and it still took about fifteen minutes. It is cooked to order but the steaks are so thin I can't see why it takes so long. " Got my orders and took it home. My steak bowl as I said was 'well done', they got the two plates right. The taste was good, I do like their sauce. My gf liked her plate a lot although the portion was on the small side. Overall if you like "well done" steaks and don't mind waiting awhile for your food then this is your place.

The chicken bowls are a good deal with a decent portion of chicken with rice. The garlic chicken isn't as garlicky as from other places, which is good or bad depending on how much you like garlic. The steak bowl has lots of rice but very little steak. Better off spending more on a full plate. Tasty food but so far, haven't tried anything that I think I will find myself craving in the middle of the night.

I don't know why there are so many haters. I have eaten here a hand full of times and it has been fine. I always get the steak and shrimp. It comes with rice and salad. It always tastes great. It is always before we go to the movies, so the portion is perfect, something I can eat all of before the movie. The service has always been fine. They have started offering a Lot more menu items since it has opened. It is still a new business, so let them get on their feet!

The food is so reasonably priced and delicious! Some of the best fries I have had on the island! We will definitely be eating here again and again. Not used to eating so well at the food court. The food seemed so fresh!

I know it's mall food so I didn't expect too much but the portions are tiny, salty and just plain gross. I paid way too much for 4 tiny undercooked pieces of shoe leather they call steak. I spit my food out and put it in the trash, no joke. Beware!

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!! Pics were deceiving, the price and proportions sucks! Nice cashier. Should change their names to "CRAPIONS MINI PORTIONS" Don't waste your money here.

Ordered a mochiko chicken bowl and a steak bowl. The wait wasn't too bad. Don't let their pictures of the food fool you...the actual portion size is smaller. The chicken and steak had good flavoring though. I would have rather paid a little more for less rice and more chicken/steak.

Really? no wonder there was no line.
