A very spacious and homey feel to this coffee spot. We ordered iced coffee. The coffee was rather weak for my liking. The place can be spiced up a little bit. There are many breakfast foods to choose from. I'll return to try them.

NOT FOR ME This little place has been on my radar for a while. It seems like a really cool addition to the neighborhood where people primarily come to socialize and just chill. My husband and I were in the area and thought that we would drop in for breakfast. It is semi-self serve, you place your order, seat yourself, and your meal is delivered when ready. My husband orders an omelet and I order the breakfast potatoes and the breakfast special. My eggs and bacon were fine, the toast was cold and the potatoes were very bland. The potatoes were very dry almost as if someone had attempted to dehydrate them and had no hint of seasoning. I like my breakfast potatoes seasoned with onion, salt and pepper and garlic is optional. My husband's omelet was tragic, again no seasoning. I loved the decor in this place because in addition to the wooden dining tables, they also offered a comfortable sofa and armchairs situated in front of a fire place. This would be a great place to hang out if it was a "bring your own food' and water cafe. The water was not okay!

What a lovely place! Comfy recliners and couches, ornate paintings, very homey and welcoming. Prices are incredible. Haven't tasted the food yet but it is rated very highly. They even have a drive through window! It doesn't feel like they have much air conditioning, though.

My girl friend and I wondered into this restaurant the other day. I had been curious about this spot for awhile. I grew up in Europe so little Cafes' are always on my radar. The service was nice enough and the atmosphere was generic for coffee shops. The food was AWFUL. I was so shocked to see the number of regulars that came in and out during my visit to this establishment. The food tasted like it was made by nursing home staff. The coffee was alot like motor oil. And the cost for the quality is certainly not there. It's a bad day when the food you get a privately own coffee shop is trumped by Waffle House in food quality.

Ideal European-style cafe with One Great Surprise Cafe Au Lait is an ideal European-stye cafe. It's a great place to get a cup of coffee and read a book you just checked out from the new East Roswell Library just built across the street, hang out with friends, enjoy a tasty breakfast or lunch or to get some work done if you're into the whole being-productive thing. The restaurant itself is large enough that you can spread out if you need workspace or have a large group and the fireplace and comfy sofas make it a cozy place to relax when you want to just take it easy. What's unusual for cafe's like this is that Cafe Au Lait also sells Bubble Tea, which if you've never had one is certainly worth trying at least once! The free wifi doesn't hurt either!

This is a wonderful family owned cafe in the roswell area. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is super cozy! You can go inside and choose to sit at a table or you can curl up in a comfy chair next to the fireplace with a fresh coffee or a hot tea and a book. The coffee is always fresh and they have their daily specials...i normally go with the dark roast! If I go for lunch I always get the chicken salad in some form. The chicken salad is the best that I've ever had. I love the combination of grapes, apples, & almonds. If you like chicken salad it is a must! The French onion soup is also very good. They have the French onion everyday as week as a soup of the day! Give this place a shot...It is actually very good and I love to support small, local, family owned businesses!

I love this cafe! It's cozy inside and also has a drive-thru for times when you are in a hurry. The fact that it is family-run makes me happy as I prefer to give my $ to small business rather than large corporations but it's the fantastic coffee, muffins and sandwiches that keep me coming back!

The food came out fast, warm and was absolutely delicious. The staff is very nice and polite. The decoration is very home style, you feel like you're at home eating breakfast in the morning. The prices are very low and just overall great experience.

This place is great! The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the cappuccino is excellent. I love the little fire place inside. It makes this a wonderful place to have a meeting, or to set up for an afternoon and work. There's a menu and a lot of people go here for little snacks but I come just go to work and for the coffee. In this area, it's definitely a way better option compared to Starbucks!

Stopped by Cafe Au Lait for breakfast the other morning. I was wanting something a bit different from my usuals of Panera, Einstein Bros and Corner Bakery. While the food is nothing too fantastic...it is also not bad at all. I had a basic breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, their seasoned potatoes (yummy) and toast, along with an unsweetened iced tea. The eggs were done well, the bacon as a bit thin, but tasty and the potatoes...as I said...yummy. But...that atmosphere was fantastic...call it coffee shop cachet...it was just cool hanging out there, reading a magazine on my iPad and having breakfast...will go back...

I love this place and the customer service is always great. The employees are super- friendly & nice and the food is tasty too! I enjoy coming to a small, locally owned place like this over a franchise place any day! The inside in warm and cozy and lots of folks seem to linger and hangout. I enjoy a good breakfast dining in here on the weekends but for the most part make great use of the drive-thru which is WAY convenient!

I enjoy getting breakfast here. They have great coffee & their croissants are always fresh. I typically use the drive thru but the interior is nice and cozy. Service is awesome as well! I love my neighborhood Cafe!

I've been frequenting Cafe au Lait for years. It's one of my favorite coffee houses in Roswell, which, for whatever reason, is strangely lacking in quality coffee shops. The dark roast coffee blends are exceptional, and the chocolate muffins are out of this world. If you stop in early on a weekend morning, the muffins are straight out of the oven and divine. It's a great place to relax, read, blog, check email, and in winter, simply enjoy the ambience of the fire. This is a hidden (and almost missable) gem if you're driving along Holcomb Bridge, but it's a favorite of the locals in Newtown. It's quiet and comforting...don't miss it.

Great coffeehouse atmosphere. Bigger than I thought it would be. Great place to relax with a drink and a laptop and pass the time. They actually have a bubble tea offering here as well- something you won't find in a lot of other coffeehouses. Would be interesting if they could promote an open-mic night or some weekend entertainment to help drive some evening business though. It happens to be out of my way when going to work, so I will probably only be back here on the weekends. It is definitely a nice place to hang out if you don't feel like shopping at Kohl's or Kroger with your significant other too :)

Excellent service, great coffee, welcoming atmosphere. I came expecting a bustling Starbucks experience, but was pleased to see that while it was very full it didn't feel crowded, and the staff didn't act overwhelmed. I recommend Cafe au Lait to people looking for a brunch as easy as Sunday morning.

Nice ambiance! It's a nice place to get a (bottomless) cup of coffee and sit over a book, or get some work done. When I'm in Roswell, I like to stop by. I like their dinner food too! The breakfast food is fine, but nothing remarkable. I like to stick to their muffins or croissants

We love this little family-run hole-in-the-wall coffee shop! The food is both yummy and affordable. The service is great! We normally split breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes (mmmmm!) and toast, and get a couple of coffees. There's obviously a regular crowd (take note of the gentleman with a book in one of the comfy leather chairs :)), which is well-deserved. Inside is quite cozy and inviting; the huge fireplace and games on hand lend a very homey air. Perfect for a cold winter evening! Their Mediterranean Wrap with pasta salad is delicious, and the items in their bakery counter look divine though we've yet to try any sweets. We definitely recommend giving them a try!

this place was empty at 930am on a saturday. and we soon realized why. the set up is nice and it looked cheap so we were excited. the food came and it was awful. everything was pre-made or at least tasted like it. the pancakes and the sausage patties were the same size (kind of like a jimmy dean one). the pancakes had griddle marks (preheated) the sausage was elasticky (pre-made) and the presentation was better at McDonalds. Actually I really think they went to McDonalds across the street and walked our breakfast over to us. Everywhere around the restaurant there were signs about how we should support them and help them b/c they are struggling due to the recession. Really? Can you be any more tacky? Improve the food and make a fresh breakfast and maybe things will change for you. Save a trip and go to J Christopher's or Flying Biscuit. There is no comparison. we always wanted to try this place, we were extremely dissapointed

I really like this place. They close earlier than Starbucks so I normally don't study here in the evening, but it's perfect for daytime work! The noise level and lighting is optimal. The owners are extremely nice, and the breakfast is delicious! I normally opt for the breakfast croissant or a bacon, egg, and cheese English muffin. I love that the breakfast tastes so much lighter than something from McDonald's, but satisfies that very craving. They also have instituted a bottomless coffee policy, which is always a plus for cafe sitters.
