I love Oak Street Cafe! I eat there about once a year when I visit Roswell and it never disappoints. The atmosphere in the dining room is friendly without being loud and the staff are always helpful. The prices are very reasonable, also. Our fave is the pimento cheese with bacon tomato jam from the apps menu. It is out of the world delicious. We always enjoy the burgers too. We had brunch this time and the eggs benedict were simply delicious.

Wow! Why there isn't a line around the block for brunch here on Sunday is a true mystery. We wandered in at 1230p and sat immediately at the bar with a great view of the team in the kitchen. Rare for no lines in Atlanta for any decent brunch and even for the crappy chains that seem to be on every corner. I had the Eggs Benedict and my wife had an egg biscuit sandwich. Sides were fruit and grits. Also had a pancake. The food was AWESOME. I'm a southerner and these were among the best grits I've ever had. The Eggs Benedict were amazing. The pancakes and biscuits are great too. The service was excellent and the group in the kitchen works well as a team and it was fun to watch. It's clear they all take their jobs seriously and are skilled in their roles. I will be back for sure.

To be perfectly honest, I've been disappointed by my last few visits to Oak Street. I was thinking it was just my pregnant-and-hormonal self, but when my not as picky friend mentioned it today, I realized that it wasn't just me. What used to be a bright arugula salad with light, lemony vinaigrette and shaved parmesan is now a slightly yellowish green salad, covered with balsamic with the grated parmesan mixed in, giving the appearance of some brown couscous on slightly wilted arugula. What used to be a great burger was a little too charred and pretty much bland. When I asked for the mayo on the side for the Lafayette, my sandwich came as just chicken breast on an oversized roll. It did not include the bacon, swiss cheese, grilled onions, or lettuce... just the "smoky" mayo on the side. And that mayo, which was reddish brown, I'm guessing from paprika, didn't taste like much of anything. So perhaps it was my fault for not specifying that I wanted all the toppings and the mayo on the side. In that case be warned to be very specific with your ordering! It's not bad food, but when I'm paying this much for a sandwich, and when I know they can do so much better, it leaves me feeling meh, just like this gray January day.

Really great food. Terrible service. The waitress seamed bothered that we were there at all, brought only two waters out for a party of four. Then seemed off put to bring out more. The fries with three dipping sauces are worth the calories and the sandwiches we had were very good. The grill cheese is really good. There are several options open to vegans and not just a house salad. I wish the service was better.

I love Oak Street cafe. The food is wonderful and the staff is always incredibly friendly. Everything on the menu is delicious, my favorite is always the chicken salad sandwich and the Mac and cheese (UNREAL). The pimento cheese on the app menu is great too. They have a nice spot outside to sit and eat but the inside is just as cozy. Can't say enough about oak street, you will not be disappointed!

Would have given 5 stars for the food, however the service was terrible waited forever and then she had a very bad attitude. No drink refills or apologies for making us wait. I hope they read their reviews because they do have good food just need to work on customer service.

A hidden gem near downtown Roswell. I've eaten here twice and both times, they are excellent. Their soups are awesome! Both Tomato Basil and French Onion were very very good. Their sandwiches are upscale and yummy. Reasonable prices and fast service.

No bartenders during the day shift, had a server make my cocktails was so bad Neary vomited, 50 drops of bitters in my drink. Food was bland, no bigger meatballs were dry. Needs a manger by the looks of things, services sucked

Was hoping for a better experience for my lunch today at Oak Street Cafe. Service and food time was very slow. They were busy but not crazy busy. Took forever to get a refill on our drinks. Lunch time should have a quicker time to table than dinner time. The food itself was OK - I had the tomato basil soup (too salty) and the chicken salad sandwich (good salad but they didn't put enough in the sandwich - I didn't eat half of the bread). So I left somewhat still hungry. $37 for 3 people (with tip) - so price was a bit high for what service/food we got. Might go back again but will not run back.

We came on a Sunday around 12:30. I agree that's it's the busiest during the brunch/lunch time but we had to wait over 40 mins to get a table. When we got there we were told that the wait for a party of 2 is about 5 minutes. The hostess continued to seat larger parties who came after us. We ended up waiting for over 40 minutes. The food was okay. I even forgot what I had. It was an okay experience. I don't think I will be coming this way again anytime soon.

Our server was rushing us in the beginning and inattentive in the end, so I can't really comment on "great service." However, food was spectacular. We started off with the hummus and it was amazing. The flavor is unique...it has a bit of a savory/sweet/tart element to it. The burger I ordered was the quinoa and white bean burger....SOOOOOO GOOOD!!!! As someone who doesn't eat meat but used to, you could barely tell the difference. My boyfriend ordered the regular Oak burger and my burger was much larger in size. They offer soup as a side item option which I really, really liked. Cocktails were alright. I ordered something that resembled a margarita and wasn't a huge fan. Definitely will be coming in the future for more food and wine!

Cute little place just a little south of that "main canton street strip" in downtown Roswell. We came here on a Saturday night after waiting an hour for a table for 6 at either 1920 tavern, roux or the salt factory. All three places had our names down and none of them were able to accommodate us and that's when we decided to walk 2 blocks down to this delicious place with room to accommodate our group. The appetizers were all delicious - hummus, fries (with three sauces), and the blue cheese chips. I ordered a burger with a little oak salad and it all hit the spot. We will definitely be back!

Food used to be incredible! Service has always been bad but we have always overlooked it because we love their yummy lunch. My place of business today has finally had enough. We order out from them a few times a month and over the past two months everything has gone progressively down hill. They have been forgetting food and would get an attitude when we call and ask to come get a fresh meal. They have also given us someone else's food before. Today we received an undercooked berger and called for a new one and my coworker was received at this establishment like he had done something wrong and then was questioned about a soup that they had left out of our order. Absolutely disappointing. We will not come back.

We will not ever be back. So many other alternatives close by that are worlds better. Pros: Cute atmosphere and descent food. Cons: Service is completely horrible... Server didn't say hello introduce herself or give us what specials were just asked if we were ready and walked off when we were not. Her attitude and service did not improve on a slow morning where the restaurant had more empty than seated tables. My coffee cup came out with bright pink lipstick on the cup which begs the question the rest of the cleanliness policies. Only improvement was when manager took over her tables for her.

Went here for sunday brunch cuz the artisan was closed. Food and service was surprisingly excellent. loved my eggs benedict and my bf ordered the biscuit, which was ginormous! Coffee was refilled consistently, servers came by often, patio seating was pleasant. And the location away from horrible downtown roswell will keep me coming again and again. Would highly recommend!

Exceptional choice for dinner this evening. We used the Yelp reviews to decide and it didn't disappoint. I had the tomato basil soup and if it was socially acceptable I would have licked the bowl. Best soup I've ever had. Paired it with the ultimate grilled cheese. Seriously... AMAZING.

CAUTION WHEN DINING HERE ON A HOLIDAY WITHOUT A RESERVATION I came here for brunch on Father's Day and discovered that the staff at Oak Street is COMPLETELY unprepared for large crowds and holidays. Maybe I am partially to blame for not having a reservation, but nonetheless they do not have it figured out when it comes to holidays. Our party of five waited for 50 minutes before being seated. I had this feeling the entire time they had forgotten about us, as the hostess did not seem very organized. Once we were finally seated at a loud table directly by the waiting area, everything took a REALLY long time: to be acknowledged by a waiter, to get drinks on the table, to get our food, etc. Our drinks weren't refilled once, and at one point I went over to the wait station myself to refill my coffee. When we were at 45 minutes in waiting for our food, I asked a young looking food runner if he could check on our meal. He said sure, but then I watched him walk over to a co-worker, have a friendly conversation, and of course he never came back. After all of that, the food wasn't even that great (I ordered the arugula and goat cheese omelet); therefore with so many amazing restaurants in Atlanta I would not recommend this one.

In my extensive experience of French Fry Eating... I would have to say that these are the best fries I have ever had. Perfectly crisp and golden, these babies arrive to the table with three unique dipping sauces, my favorite being the spicy ketchup, which I would buy and drink if I could. Now that I have my strange Oak Street fry addiction out of the way I can tell you about my other favorite item on the menu, the chicken salad. I always order a scoop (the extra big scoop) on top of the Oak Street Salad. The salad itself is wonderful, a champagne vinaigrette upon assorted mixed greens and roasted walnuts. Adding the scoop of chicken salad though... then you are really experiencing something truly delicious! I have tried other various entrees and specials on the menu and I can honestly say that I have never been disappointed. Oak Street Cafe, a local gem!

Lived in the area for a while and never been here. Came for lunch and loved it! I had TBT Lafayette chicken sandwich and was great! My wife had the burger and it also was awesome.. My daughter had a kids meatball sub and that was the hit.. I had to try it and I have to say it was fantastic and I will order it next time I'm here. We will be back for sure!

I don't have many negative things to say about Oak Street other than their parking lot which can be jam packed at lunch. Oh and the tuna salad sandwich is kind of weak. However, the tomato basil soup is where it's at. I used to hate tomatoes immensely, but in the past couple of years I have all the sudden grown to love them- in small doses. This soup is one of the reasons why I now love them. Their veggie sandwich is good, as is the grilled cheese. I really wish they would put a turkey burger on the menu. While nice inside, you do pay at the front counter and then seat yourself so it's not overly schmancy, just semi fancy.

*BRUNCH REVIEW* This is my second time visiting Oak Street Cafe, and the first with the OTP Breakfast Club crew. Our newly crowned Community Manager was in attendance and sprung for pancakes for the entire group. Thanks Heidi P!!! yelp.com/biz_photos/oak-… ------------ - - - - - - THE DETAILS Date & Time: Sunday, December 16th, 2012 @ 12:30pm Dining Companions: Wife and OTP Breakfast Club What to expect: Tight parking, modern decor Server: Erick S Liquid: water Ordered: Ham & Cheese omelette ($10), Street Cart Egg sandwich ($9.75) Dislikes: Service could have been a little better Absolutely Loved: Apple Chicken Sausage Total: $21.13 ------------ - - - - - THE SERVICE We had some issues. Nothing terrible, just little things that could have been better: *They didn't set the correct amount of places at our table so someone (me) had to stand for a while. Even after I received a chair I had to ask for a menu and silverware. *My wife's order came out wrong (forgot to put her sandwich on a bagel). *Then brought a stack of pancakes that was meant for the whole table to share with one tiny jar of maple syrup, one packet of butter and no additional plates. *They also ran out of grits. We arrived @ 12:30pm and they had only been open since 10 am. Very disappointing, especially since our server really hyped it up but came back after taking our orders to tell us the kitchen ran out. There are not a lot of options available for sides so many chose the potatoes after the let down with the grits. Just an observation, but it didn't seem to me that others enjoyed them since several plates had a lot of potatoes still remaining at the end of the meal. THE FOOD * Virginia Ham, Roasted Red Peppers & Cheddar Omelette (3.5 out of 5 stars) yelp.com/biz_photos/oak-… - I would prefer chunks of ham instead of the thinly sliced ham bits included in my omelette. I also thought they were a little skimpy on the amount of ham used. Overall it was a little better than average, but not a meal I would rush back across town to order. * Potatoes (3.25) - Good, but not great. The golden brown crunchy exterior was amazing, but looks can fool you. I'm not complaining about these potatoes because in a regular world, they weren't bad. But in my world, potatoes are sacred and these were not as tasty as they looked. TIP FOR THE KITCHEN: Add bacon fat to the cooking oil and mix in some onions & butter. Your customers will thank me. * Chicken-apple sausage (5/5) - Winner-winner-chicken-sausage-dinner! This is worth the price of admission. Flavorful, juicy and perfectly grilled. I LOVE this sausage! * Street Cart Egg Sandwich (4/5) yelp.com/biz_photos/oak-… - My wife enjoyed this sandwich and shared a portion with me. She ordered it with a perfectly cooked bagel (.75 cents extra). * Pancakes (4/5) yelp.com/biz_photos/oak-… - We all split the pancake stack and had 3/4th's of a pancake each... which spawned a few jokes amongst our group. However, William G (the UYE host) needed more and placed a half order for himself. He was found stroking his pancakes with a butter knife a little too passionately later in the meal (don't ask) and will henceforth be known as Flapjack Bill. yelp.com/biz_photos/oak-… THE VERDICT The service was ok, the food was good and the company was great! Oak Street Cafe cooks their menu items beautifully, but both experiences left me desiring just a little more flavor to make my meal absolutely perfect. That said, there is a dish that may draw me back here a third time. I used the "explore the menu" option on their yelp page to check out the menu prior to coming. I had my mind set on the Lombardy Scramble, but for some reason it was not available today for brunch. I'm interested in this meaty omelette dish, and it may be the only reason I return for breakfast. Well, that and the chicken sausage. I am seriously enjoying my brunch meals with this bunch of yelpers. Lively conversations have made our fledgling group entertaining and makes me look forward to the next... which will be hosted this time by me in Dacula ~ January, 2013. Hope to see you there!!!

I ventured out to Oak Street Cafe in Roswell as part of the Breakfast Club UYE. It's located in a little strip mall on Oak Street. Parking is a bit on the tight side. I was lucky enough to get a primo space in front of the entrance on a rainy Sunday. As you've probably read the other UYE reviews, I too got to partake in my 3/4 pancake. And what an awesome 3/4 pancake it was. An order of pancakes comes with 6 while a half order is 3. I would definitely get a half order of pancakes if I get to come back for brunch. I ordered the Street Cart Egg sandwich. It comes with 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, and cheddar on a bun. The sandwich was pretty good but I think it could have used a little more meat. The bacon that was on the sandwich was tasty. The sandwich comes with your choice of side item. I picked potatoes as I'm not a big fan of grits. They actually ran out of grits that day by the time we ordered around 12:30. Not sure how a brunch place runs out of grits. So I was lucky since I ordered the potatoes to begin with. They were kind of crunchy and bland. Not really what I was expecting. It probably would have tasted better with some salt but I try not to add extra salt to my food items. Ok now for the best item on the menu: Chicken apple sausage. I didn't order it but I did get to sample Helene W.'s order. This sausage was excellent. I would have loved to get an order of that and eat it in my sandwich. Why oh why didn't I do that? It would have been so easy to just ask for an extra order on the side. Sigh. Lesson learned. Next time, I will be getting a half stack of pancakes and a side of chicken apple sausage. MMMMM.

Took the family to this place to celebrate a birthday, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Occupying the end of a small strip mall near the heart of Roswell, Oak Street Cafe is comfortable--lots of exposed brick, and the decor is not an assault on the senses. It seems clear these folks pay a lot of attention to their menu and how their food is served. It's not even a large menu, but the things that are on it are quality productions. Simple but outstanding. I had the Street Cart Egg Sandwich: two eggs (to order), some cheddar and bacon, on a toasted bun. I'm generally a fan of egg sandwiches, so this seemed a no-brainer to me. And I'm not even a fan of bacon (there, I said it), but this sandwich made me very happy. The Bragg (smoked salmon, scrambled eggs & cream cheese on toast with choice of side) was my plan B. I will definitely have to check this item out next time. It looked delicious. And the Grilled Cheese sandwich (with something like three cheeses) looked like a work of art next to a bowl of the Tomato Basil Soup. If you can't decide what to get, choose the Eggs Benedict. I mean really, how can you go wrong with that? I'll look forward to my next visit here. Holler if you're coming with.

I ventured out to Oak Street Cafe in Roswell on a Sunday afternoon for a brunch UYE with the lovely Yelpers of the Breakfast Club. Our group arrived a little before 12:30 and we were seated not long after. After we were seated, our server came to take our drink orders. I ordered my obligatory brunch Bloody Mary. While it was pretty good, I'm not sure it warranted the $9 price tag. Seemed a little on the steep side. Because we had all heard great things about the buttermilk pancakes at OSC, our wonderful OTP CM, Heidi, ordered a full stack (6 pancakes) for the group. That meant each of us ended up with 3/4 of a pancake. And what a great 3/4 pancake it was. You should definitely order some. But go with the half stack unless you're carb-loading for a marathon or something equally masochistic. For my entree, I went with the Big Oak Breakfast. My typical strategy for my first visit to breakfast joints is to go with the standard - bacon and eggs. While the bacon at OSC was delicious (but what bacon isn't), the eggs were sub par. Not seasoned sufficiently for my taste, so I had to add salt and pepper. My meal also came with potatoes (also under-seasoned), toast, and another side (I went with the fresh fruit). I originally ordered the grits (that our server convinced me were excellent), but then then he remembered they didn't have any. WHAT?!? It's brunch - on a Sunday - in the South. Why are you out of grits? My feelings were hurt. Actually, I'm still feeling a little disappointment. The real reason you need to come here is the chicken apple sausage. Don't question it. Just do it. Thank me later. The parking situation is difficult at best - luckily a nice couple was leaving just as I arrived, but some other members of the group had to park in an adjacent parking lot. While my meal left a lot to be desired on this occasion, the awesome pancakes and the chicken apple sausage will likely warrant making a return visit.

I anticipated Easter Sunday being busy and I was so glad that Oak Street Cafe took reservations even if it was just for a table for two. We were seated near the door and waiting area. I didn't mind the noise of clattering dishes, but honestly, it was a bit on the loud side. Man, I think this is the 3rd review in a row where I've complained about noise. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the food. I ordered the Sundried Tomato Arugula Feta Omelette but asked for the feta to be substituted with swiss cheese. The omelette was fluffy and so full of flavor that I definitely enjoyed it beside my wheat toast and fruit. I don't know what it is about this place. Maybe it's the friendly and prompt service and because our waitress kept checking up on us. Or maybe it was my date... but brunch was so good. I definitely want to come back and try more items like their sandwiches or the more brunchy drinks.

I'm a fan. Not a "crazy" great joint but a good solid place to grab lunch or dinner. Easy to get to down oak street and good parking for the area. Servers are always kind and get the job done. Give it a go. I think you'll be satisfied.

Favorite place to eat in Roswell, hands down. There are healthy organic delicious new menu items every day, and the standard selections are always fantastic. Best chicken salad in town and their tomato basil soup tastes like fresh tomatoes. Ample, easy to get to parking and it's free, unlike the parking in the little town of Roswell. You must check out their Sunday brunch because everything is amazing. Great owners and efficient waitstaff. We just adore this restaurant.

I have been a regular at Oak Street for years. I went tonight with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. The food was yummy as usual. Our main waiter was great. I guess the amount of fun we were having was too much for the rest of the staff. At 9:20 they cleared our table and said "they were ready to go home". I'm sorry to say they lost 8 good customers tonight. If you want to have fun...don't go to Oak Street Cafe.

Like the new dinner menu. More casual offerings; sandwiches, soups, salads & house entree specials! Loved the All- American Burger perfectly cooked with a special sauce! One of the best burgers I have had lately. Nice choice of sides if you don't want fries! Friendly service in a small cafe environment!

We love Oak Street and come here often. Everything is good. I've had the special salmon the past 2 times. It is excellent, but the couscous cucumber salad they served with it was awesome. Avocado and chunky pieces of feta gave it a real pop. I could of eaten a whole plate of it. And don't miss the spicy roasted Brussel sprouts. Yum.

I have yet to walk into this restaurant, but I think this is an experience worth sharing. I called around 7:15 to make a reservation at 8 for my mom's birthday dinner, with three guests. When I called, I was greeted normally, but when I asked to make the reservation, there was hesitation in the woman's voice. I asked what time they closed, conscious that it may be early since its a Monday night. She answered 9, but they may be closing early because its really slow. She then proceeded to ask if we were capable of coming in any earlier, at this point it was 7:30. I cannot imagine what a difference it would be in 30 minutes, and being that I've worked in the service industry, I doubt the on-duty manager would have appreciated the shoot-down of business an hour and a half before closing time. I understand Mondays are hard days, especially when they are slow, but if your hours are subject to change, it should be notified to possible guests. Not to mention, if guests are willing to come in on a slow night and make a reservation, keep your closing server on and give them the chance to get a tip...since they are basically working for free otherwise. I would like to still try the food based on other reviews on here, but I am rather disappointed in the customer service so far.

A stylish interior, comfortable seating, and nice outdoor patio. The service was strange, friendly and attentive at times, but clueless to universal body language signals -- like both of us have laid our menus down and are looking around: so come over and ask us if we're ready to order, especially since the cafe is nearly empty and you're not doing anything. Or when you check to see if everything is alright, don't forget to notice that my glass is as empty as a politician's promises. The food followed the same theme of contradiction. The ingredients were quality and the cooking was fresh. But pretty flavorless, but thankfully a dash of salt fixed most of that. The chicken and barley soup had the most flavor but the the chicken cacciatore risotto, while generous, was bland. Maybe my buds were having an off day because my wife really enjoyed her Tomato Basil Soup and salad, and when she sampled my risotto thought it was good. We both agreed, however, that it's quite pricey. Not enough to prevent us from another visit, but we won't be regulars. It's also worth noting that the menu is quite small, so check out their website to ensure they have something that interests you. We may be back to try their pizza (not available on the night we visited) and their burger looked impressive.

I've lived in Roswell for years and have heard rave reviews but never made an effort to go until tonight when my dear cousin took me as a birthday treat - and a treat it was! Wonderful ambience and the food was yummy. We had their roasted beet salad which I enjoyed and then their special of the night which was a roasted grouper with shaved fennel, green beans and fingerling potatoes - really good!!! and as a side (and sorta dessert) we had their famous mac and cheese - not as creamy as I normally like it but VERY good! great job and i'll be back!

My parents live in Roswell and had recommend Oak Street to us for brunch. My fiance and I came in on a Sunday around 10:30- before the church crowd and made the mistake of sitting at the bar. While we notified the hostess that we wished to sit at the bar, she did not give us menus. I got up and got menus- and then realized I had not gotten the smaller brunch menu. So again, I got up to get the other menus unnoticed. After waiting about 10-12 minutes to have our order taken, I was finally given my coffee. During the 45 minutes it took to get our food, the manager (or owner- he seemed to know everyone else in the restaurant) made awkward eye contact with me several times. It was obvious that we had been waiting an exorbitant amount of time. I ordered an omelette and my fiancé got the smoked salmon plate. I only got 1 coffee refill the entire time. There was also a long hair on my plate. Parties sitting beside us came and went- although it seemed like ours was an isolated incident of awful service (the ironic part was all the staff was friendly- just not attentive), we definitely won't be back. The food was decent, but nothing special. A plus, the fruit side included strawberries, grapes, etc..but no cantaloupe or melon (which I can't stand!).

If I'm in the area, I don't miss a chance to eat here for lunch or dinner...doesn't matter. The menu is limited, but only because everything they do is close to perfect in its own right. This is the thing I miss most about working in Roswell. Their soups, sandwiches and salads are some of the most honest, simple ways to make me happy in the realm that is food. The grilled ham & cheese; the little oak salad; the tomato bisque soup...all bring memories that make me smile. The service is great and the owners generally take orders while food is prepared right behind them. The space is fairly small, so it fills up quickly. Many times have I pulled into the lot for lunch and had to leave sobbing, due to the fact that the line was out the door and people were getting their sandwiches to go. It's my only complaint about the place...I mean, can't they add-on a second story or something? Please, please, please open a location in Norcross or East Cobb!!!

Not sure if this ihappens all the time but I hate walking into a place with poor kitchen ventilation and the smell of the fryer. Not only does it make the food unappealing, i lose my appetite and even worse then your clothes smell like you've been in the kitchen. I think this is a huge issue for this place but apparently most others don't. Probably prevent me from coming back. Especially when there are so many places to eat in that roswell area. On the other hand, I do like walking into the counter to order immediately. The place is quaint and laid back. With friendly service. Without yelp never would have known of the place or bothered to even try. I had the Lafayette chicken sandwich on a baguette with a farro and sausage salad. The sandwich was ok but the salad was excellent. I will say the food was fresh and prepared with good intention. This is more of a female lunch spot as the portions were a little on the small side.

Somehow, through the wiles of our OTP community manager, I found myself tasked with organizing the second UYE in our OTP breakfast club. Side note, you should join us at our next event. Anyway, I asked around for a great brunch place in Roswell, and this seemed like a good suggestion. I checked the menu for pancakes to be sure, and promptly scheduled the event. Be warned, this place can be a madhouse for brunch, especially on Sunday. I called to make a reservation, and a very harried sounding server did simply tell me 'Good Luck' when I told him of our party size. I came early and they actually were able to accomodate my request within 30 minutes, at a very nice table near the front. I do recommend calling ahead, but I wager you'll be ok if you're not with some large party of 8 or more. The restaurant itself is a small affair, situated in a strip mall in Olde Town Roswell. Parking specifically for the strip was limited, but there was enough nearby parking that I believe everyone can be accomodated fairly well. Inside the cafe is a rather nice affair, with a central bar surrounded by nice tables. The large party table was an outstanding wooden one with plenty of space for 8. I thought the decor quite nice and the chairs quite comfortable. Now, when you say breakfast or brunch, you will find me a pancake man. I may have caused some minor commotion by raving about how I wanted my pancakes, so we all shared a stack courtesy of the aforementioned illustrious community manager. Oak Street Cafe's buttermilk pancakes are delicious, well and freshly made, and do not need to be loused with powdered sugar. The flavor is good enough they do not require fruit, and I believe everyone without exception agreed. I did order an omelette, with ham, red peppers, and cheddar, as well as a side of roasted potatos. I was going to add a side of bacon, but instead opted for another short stack of pancakes since they were about the same price. If you're keeping track, yes, I gorged myself. All in the name or reviewing more food for you. The omelette was of good quality, substantial but not exceptional. I enjoyed the potato side, but ended up sampling another Yelper's side of yogurt and granola and wishing I had gone with that. Then I delved into a sample of another side, the chicken-apple sausage, which I had wanted to order but acquiesed when Helena W. ordered it. Truly this was exceptional! (The sausage, I mean. And Helena too.) This was the true masterpiece of the establishment, and if I were them, I would give it center stage in the menu. For more detail, read Helena W.'s review, as she has written an ode to this excellent dish. Overall, this is a nice place, family owned, with some really good food, and people know it. I deem it worthy to fight the crowd to get yourself a stack of pancakes and a side of chicken-apple sausage. I mean, order what you want, but don't be upset when you see me at another table with ecstasy written on my face as I enjoy mine.

I came in for lunch today and had the All American Burger with a cup of the Tomato Soup. The burger was a double stack. I liked the toppings especially the garlic mayo however the burgers were very small (It's possible the patties were smaller and thinner than a kids hamburger at McDonalds!). The bread swallowed up the patties! They were also very overcooked and hard as a rock. The Tomato Basil could have been seasoned better and was very bland but at least I could taste the fresh ingredients. The service was just ok. The waitress came by and checked on us once and it took over an hour for lunch.

**Let me preface this by saying the food quality of Oak Street Café is wonderful. I have never been disappointed by a meal. However, food quality should never trump customer service, and today's experience was so bad that I joined Yelp specifically to share it.** I am from Milwaukee, WI, and travel often for both personal and business reasons to Roswell, GA. I have always enjoyed stopping into the Oak Street Café, and have already done so twice on this current trip. Today, however, will keep me from returning, most likely ever again. First, it took almost a full hour from the time I ordered my carry-out to the time I received it, without anyone checking in on me or updating me. I can overlook carry-out waits, as sometimes kitchens just get busy. But then when my food was handed to me (after I had noticed the bag sitting on the shelf for awhile....all the time wondering if that was my order), I checked to see that my order was all correct. It was not. As I showed the normally-friendly counter-worker my order, and asked him why I'd received the chicken salad in a small container as opposed to a large container with the salad (as I'd had the previous two days), he proceeded to belittle my questions, condescend me in front of the line of people, and ultimately tell me I was wrong when I ordered it. When I asked him to clarify so I didn't order it incorrectly the next time, he just got even more frustrated and walked to the back with my order. Upon his return, he said I do not get a side with the sandwich, which I had thought came with it, according to the menu. He (sort of) explained that the salad itself was the side, to which I stated I understood, but why was it different the last two days? His reply was to TAKE MY SOUP OUT OF MY BAG, and say "YOU DON'T GET THIS", and walk away with it. Um, I would have gladly paid for that little side soup. He never gave me the option. Instead, he invaded the bag that I was holding, grabbed it out, and walked off with it. So I sat, again embarrassed, and stewing in my apparent punishment for being confused about the inconsistency of the same exact order I'd placed from the day before. He did not return, and instead sent someone else to hand over the chicken salad sandwich. So I left, an hour after I placed my order, feeling chastised and embarrassed, without real clarification as to why I confused them so much with my order, and also without my soup.....which again, I would have gladly paid for. I love the soup at Oak Street Café. I have usually had pleasant experiences when visiting during my travels. Today's experience was so off-putting and foul that I don't plan on going ever again. Don't make your customers feel terrible. Clarify when they ask you to clarify. And please, for the love of God, don't grab their soup out of their bags and tell them they can't have it!

Went to this little gem with a friend per her recommendation and will be back. I had a strong hankering for a fine burger and fries....you know, that knawing, terrible pang kind of hankering..... Their fries were AWESOME; perfectly cooked, not too crunchy, not too soft, just right. The burger was well cooked to my mid-rare request and the bun was nice and warm. The only thing that would have made the visit better would have been to be in the "know" that some additional burger topping options not listed in that menu section are also available to slap on said burger. Example: I could have gotten some goat cheese on my burger instead of cheddar, but didn't know til after I placed my order. One awesome fact: the toppings are ordered as many as you'd like for no additional charge (nice).

This is a cute place at the end of a small shopping strip, coincidentally on Oak Street, where you can get good food. A group of 8, our planner tried to make reservations on the phone and was told they don't take reservations and basically "good luck". Oookay. We ended up not waiting very long at all when we arrived at 12:30 on Sunday for brunch. Apparently their menu changes daily, so if you look at their brunch menu on a Saturday in preparation for your Sunday meal, you'll probably be disappointed as were a few of our group. Everyone kept talking about these buttermilk pancakes that are supposed to be awesome, and awesome, they were! We got a whole order of 6 for the table, which meant we each got 3/4's of said glorious pancake. I ordered a coffee that needed a lot of cream. It was very strong but I was able to balance it out. No sugar in my coffee, thanks. For my meal, I ordered the Street Cart Egg Sandwich. Two egg whites, bacon and cheddar on a toasted bun. It comes with a side so I chose grits and added fontina. Being a carb lover, I also ordered a side of roasted potatoes. As soon as everyone finished placing their orders, we were told there were no more grits. So, scratch that. The sandwich was good - not sure if it was $9 good.. but definitely filling. I think there were two pieces of bacon on it - I would have hoped for more. It was a little less savory than I had hoped, but I am thinking it's not a terrible thing to have something with possibly less salt than normal. I did add salt to my potatoes, which made them great. OSC didn't blow a ton of wind up my skirt, honestly but the interesting menu and non-chain aspect makes it a little more than "A-OK". I bumped it up to I'm a fan because I would go back and try it again!

Just off the Krispy Kreme intersection in Dowtown Roswell you will find Oak street and on it is the Oak Street Cafe. There is some major word on the street about the magnificent burger here but I was in a brunch state of mind. I have a burger date in the near future with Oak Street Cafe but not today. The brunch crowd here is not the after church crowd. It's locals mostly. Dark walls so that morning sun isn't too harsh, window shades ensure it. Blood red walls, dark floors and lots of fun paintings keep it casual feeling. Brunch or burgers should never be stuffy or formal. The brunch menu is basic. No waffles, but plenty of gorgeous omelettes, one pancake option as well as french toast. Lox and bagel platter as well as a lox omlette options. The grits are impossibly creamy without being too rich. Cooked in milk and they stay loose but not watery. So good they don't even need cheese but have cheese added if you must. French toast is basic baguette. Half order is generous! Chicken apple sausage is link style, split and grilled. Flavorful and not greasy. Plain and Sesame bagels were the option for my lox platter. light toasting and the cream cheese is dilled up. Delicious! Brewed coffee is good quality but a bit weak for my taste. They do have espresso and latte options. Plenty of young cheerful staff and very fast service. I definitely will return.

Chicken-Apple Sausage. Chicken-Apple Sausage. Chicken-Apple Sausage Before you read anything of what Im about to tell you, you must first know that your instinctive response should be ordering a side of the Chicken Apple Sausage. My sole effort in this review is to instill the importance of you ordering the Chicken-Apple Sausage. Even if you werent in the mood for Chicken-Apple Sausage or havent cared for the taste of Chicken-Apple Sausage from other places in the past.... I dont care. Im telling you, you NEED Chicken-Apple Sausage from OSC in your life. Chicken w/ Apple Sausage. Chicken & Apple Sausage. Chickpple Sausage Had I lovely brunch with my fellow Yelpers at this cute little corner cafe. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but I found a spot parking next door on that glass place's lot. We had a large table for eight with plenty of room for everyone to enjoy our personal space. Sausage w/ apple and Chicken. Sausage made from Chickens & Apples. Chicken-Apple Sausage Food: Did you know they have Chicken-Apple Sausage? No, I dont mean those scrawny little links either, these were the full size links baby!! Did you also know a full order of pancakes comes (6) high? Yeah, and these are those giant lumberjack sized flapjacks not those wimpy gourmet "silver dollar" versions. So rather than have seven other people ogle over one persons pancakes we (our fabulous OTP CM) ordered a full stack for the table as an "appetizer." This was the brilliant idea of Heidi. **Thank you!!** Now imagine eight ravenous adults all stabbing our forks into hot cakes in the center of the table. It was a pretty funny sight. Have I mentioned? Chicken-Apple Sausage. Chicken-Apple Sausage. Chicken-Apple Sausage I ordered the egg sammich, which came with bacon and not Chicken-Apple Sausage(Booo!). But it was no worry, I was curious so I added a side of Chicken-Apple Sausage. Apparently, I dont know how to order eggs correctly so my sammich arrived "bleeding" or runny as a normal person would describe. Thankfully, my wonderful brunch companion (Tanya C) traded hers with me. I found her egg to be sufficiently dead for my liking. I really enjoyed the sandwich, but why wouldn't, it has bacon!! Then got the idea to place some Chicken-Apple Sausage in it. I then cut up one of my Chicken-Apple Sausages and placed it in my sandwich; made it 100x better!! I loved it better than the just the bacon!! For shame!! My side was the roasted potatoes, they were pretty good, they were a little hard but I still enjoyed them. Dont forget the Chicken-Apple Sausage. Chicken-Apple Sausage. Chicken-Apple Sausage Service was great! Chicken. Waters were refilled and orders were promptly altered or corrected. Apple. Eric, our server, and the rest of the folks did a fabulous job, even when we ran our mouths after they had long closed. Sausage. Was OSC worth the venture from ITP-Midtown? Chicken-Apple Sausage. Would I come here again? Chicken-Apple Sausage. Did anything stand out? Not really.....*gotcha!* Chicken-Apple Sausage!!! It was a Chicken-Apple Sausage time, cant wait to Chicken-Apple Sausage again!! Thank you William for suggesting Chicken-Apple Sausage!!!

Stopped for lunch and wanted a burger. However, I went healthy with open-face tuna salad sandwich with a side of creamy tomato basil soup. Awesome... tuna salad was flavorful with capers and lemon and light on mayo (if it was there at all), and the soup was delicious coming from someone that would typically pass on tomato soup.

I laughed when I read another review saying they took a big chance bringing their picky family here for lunch....because that was the predicament I was in! My father is exceptionally hard to please when it comes to restaurants. However, Oak Street Cafe was a hit with the entire family! (grandkids to grandparents). I found out about it on yelp and we made it there right before lunch closing...9 of us....and they still happily sat us and served us! 4 of us had the Ultimate Grilled Cheese....and yum!! Can also vouch for the veggie wrap, chicken salad, and the main event. Drinks were refilled in a timely manner (even though they were shutting down for the day)...and the staff was very friendly. And I will attest that the other reviews are correct, the french fries were to die for! My brother's lived in the area for 10 years and never heard of this place- now he's looking forward to being a regular customer! We can't wait to try brunch :)

Stopped in here on Saturday afternoon for lunch. I had the ultimate grilled cheese and tomato basil soup. It was very good. My wife ordered the tuna salad and fries which was pretty decent, but it was served open face with one slice of toasted bread. I think she just phrased her order wrong, we were expecting a sandwich. No big deal, still pretty good. The fries were good, they make their own from scratch. I'll definitely come back if I need to grab lunch while going around downtown Roswell on a saturday afternoon. It would be a good spot for lunch if I worked in the area as well.

A pleasant spot for lunch with the ladies. Our servers were great, very friendly and prompt but did not rush us when we lingered. Everyone who had the chicken salad sandwich raved about it. My meal was just OK, but I am gluten-free, and they have pretty limited options for that (the menu clearly warns that they cannot assure no cross-contamination, as the kitchen is small, and I appreciate the honesty). Thus, I contented myself with an OK arugula salad and enjoyed the atmosphere.

What a great place. Friends took me there who live nearby. The fries are the best I've ever had. Seriously. I ordered the Polpetone, Grandma's meatloaf, which is pretty much a giant meatball with a fab marinara gravy. Delish. My friend had the mac and cheese which was delicious. Best of all I ordered a vodka tonic and was served 4 beautiful, easily squeezable lime wedges. Those of you who drink know what I mean. Highly recommend this place.

Only downside is menu is not overly creative but one of the best run restaurants all around. Meatballs, burger, fries, and macaroni and cheese are all among the best, if not the best in Atlanta. Service is always excellent. Not a bad choice on the menu.

We thought we would try out a new place close to home for brunch today, only if I knew how terrible it was going to be....It took about 10 mins to be greeted by our server (I believe her name was Chris...older short lady with short dark hair) We were finally able to place our order, when I asked her if she could add veggies to my side eggs for the additional $.75 that it stated for the omelette, she said I would have to order an omelette for $10.50. Then after a minuet of discussion she finally made it happen. When the food finally came out my French toast was cold and there was no cheese on my girlfriends omelette, she never came back to check on us or how our food was. I had to ask the busser to grab out server after I was finished with my meal! When she came by I let her know how awful her service had been and questioned why she never came back to check on us. I let her know about the cheese on the omelette and she stated it was on there, it's just a white cheddar and we couldn't see it! Then argued with me and told me she heard me say "I told her to make it happen" she then proceeded to tell me "we are not it the business to give away food" when I had clearly told her I am more than willing to pay the extra for cheese! I then asked for a manager and she said she was part owner and that she didn't have time to argue with me, walked away, then came back and asked if I wanted to speak to the owner, the tone she used made it seem like he wasn't going to care either about our issues! When he came out we explained the issues and what had happened! I apologized to him for having to be a partner with that awful lady. He listened to our issues calmly and candidly. The server came back and he had to ask her to step away from the table since he was handling the situation. She then took my girlfriends plate away from her when she still had half of her food on the plate!!!! What person in the service industry would ever do that!!!?!??????! The owner took care of our food, not at all what we wanted or expected! This server/part owner is going to be a burden to the restaurant if it wants to continue to stay in business! This place has great potential! There is so much competition around and so many other places I could go within walking distance for these types of problems! In short, if you want over priced, mediocre food, and awful service, then this is the place for you! Otherwise stay as far away as possible and tell all your friends and family to do so as well! I know I will!!!!!

We had a large group of 9 - they sat us right away. Very cool dining room - very casual but pleasant to be in. Loved the art on the walls (which I think is for sale at the at the gallery down the strip mall. We have 4 kids including an infant, and there was no issue at all. Service was top notch and we were well cared for by the owner. Food was outstanding if simple. Great flavor and everything was expertly cooked albeit not fancy or ostentatious. Only real complaint area is the wine list. It isn't extensive although does have decent variety especially geographically. We tried both of their top priced reds which were good values at $35 but weren't standout wines by any means. Perhaps an opportunity for an upgrade? This was our first time, but we'll definitely make this a regular part of our dining out repertoire.

This place has really nice decor -- the wall color, wood, and paintings on the wall all give a very nice impression. Based on previous reviews, I was optimistic about coming here for brunch: I had read raving reviews about the chicken sausage and the pancakes, so I ordered both (you can get a half-stack of 3) and I always need eggs, so I ordered poached eggs, too. As promised, the chicken sausage was great! Cooked well and with a maple flavor that was really tasty! I was disappointed with the eggs and pancakes, however The poached eggs tasted like vinegar, and the pancakes were flat and no better than I can make at home (and I'm a mediocre pancaker). I don't put maple syrup on my pancakes, however, so perhaps it's just their maple syrup that is so fantastic, and not the pancake itself?? My boyfriend enjoyed his burger, although it was under-cooked based upon his specifications and the fries were basic. So was it bad? No. But this place is on the expensive side compared to better breakfast/brunch places nearby.

Upon walking in I realize it is more like a diner than a cafe as it stunk like a greasy restaurant/diner. I stayed and ordered the tuna salad sandwich and fries. Holy sodium. Both were impossible to eat because of it. Service was good. Food was quick. Probably wont go back.

We were on our way to the Flying Biscuit when I yelped the area when I noticed the Oak Street Café one particular Sunday. They were open and near so we thought, why not? We got there at 10:30 and got seated immediately. I asked the waitress what she recommended and I didn't get the answer I was expecting. Instead of recommendations, she just explained how certain were made and what they came with. After an eye roll to my husband, I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich that was made with creamy goat cheese,Cheddar, Emmenthaler & Fontina cheese and the small oak salad. Husband ordered the baguette French toast and bacon. His was better than mine, which goes without saying (we always switch meals) - he's an angel and very patient. I hate to admit but the salad was the best part of the meal. I'm not the biggest salad fan, but it was very tasty. A little heavy on the dressing though. A lot of flavor and not typical flavor like you would get at other restaurants. Parking is good sized, bathrooms are cleaned, price was reasonable, service was good. There was this young dude who I wanted to pull his britches up for him though. Youngins'...Get off my lawn! My Two Cents: Everything had a lot of flavor. I think that was the most impressive thing about the café.

Have been here twice and both times, lunch was really really really gooooood! I like hamburgers. A lot. Oak Street Cafe makes a great hamburger - which will keep me coming back again and again. It might be my favorite hamburger in the area. Noted other reviews mention correctly if you want medium rare, you might want to order as medium. The medium rare is definitely more on the rare than medium side of things. The fries are very very good too. Wife had an Italian sandwhich and really liked it. The baguette was very crusty on the outside and very soft on the inside. White bean soup was delicious too.

I need a support group for OSC seriously. In the past 2 weeks, I've been back at least 4 times. I have finally experienced the magnificence that is both the Oak Burger and the Lafayette in addition to my beloved chicken salad sandwich. With this, I'm convinced that Joey and the crew can make anything taste like a million bucks. I'm a burger afficionado, and this place has just raised the bar--sorry Gordon Biersch, you've just slid into the #2 spot. And hands down, the best grilled chicken sandwich I've had in ATL-perfectly grilled with a tasty, smoky mayo. I think I've already addressed my affinity for the fries and the spicy ketchup, but you've got to try the garlic aioli dip as well- heavenly!

Quite yummy! For some reason I thought this place would be a dive... NOT!!!! This is a CLASSY cafe. The decor is great, including some art that is quite nice. Oak Street just has that nice class, and yet not pretentious, feeling. The sandwiches are AWESOME, the frys are real and fresh, and I loved the salad. I've also heard tell that the tomato basil soup is second to none, but haven't personally eaten it, yet. the prices are reasonable, although not cheap. I'll pay for good food though. No issue here! and again, you can pay a lot more for a lot less! I can't wait to go back and try brunch and dinner!

The pancakes are the best thing they have. The potatoes are hard and terrible, like they just threw them in a deep fryer and then put them on your plate. Grits were mediocre. Chicken sausage was some of the worst I've ever had. Skip brunch at this place not a winner.

  • Robert M.

This place puts on a clinic in fry making. The hand cut fries were cooked perfectly crisp on the outside, perfectly mush on the inside, perfectly browned and salted, and great potato flavor. I would say these are the best fries I've tasted in the Atlanta area. No joke. I've never eaten fries quicker. Similar to Five Guys in appearance, but not in taste, much better. The meatball sammy with fontina cheese was also very good. The meatballs are also some of the best, if not the best meatballs I've tried down south. Nobody knows how to make meatballs in the south. Sauce was good too although I prefer it to be a bit spicier. Quality ingredients throughout though. The only thing that keeps this from 5 stars is the bun. The challah bun was fine but it's not meant for a meatball sammy. I mean, I realize this is a cafe and they need to be cutesy and all that, but they need to man up on this one and put it on a nice crusty hero. They are missing the boat here, because this would be an exceptional meatball hero on the right bread. It's also kinda smallish for the $9+ price. Overall, I'd come back for the meatballs and fries without a doubt. Just work on that bread...

We moved out of the neighborhood and lament the loss of this restaurant. We wish we could find something like it in town! I know you ITPers are laughing but trust me, if you're in Roswell, go to this restaurant. We still make the trek up here on Sundays for their brunch. Ya' know, you'd think an egg is an egg is an egg but I don't know what they do or how they do it but their breakfast meals just taste better than anywhere else. We've hit up all the usual brunch spots in town (J. Christopher's, Buckhead Bread Co., etc.) and have yet to find one whose food matches Oak Street's. I keep begging them to open one in town but have had no success. All of the staff are great, too. Little extra plus for those of us who are always plugged in: they tweet out their specials daily. @oakstcafe I only wish we could get up there for dinner! Maybe when the baby's older . . .

I have eaten at Oak Street probably a hundred times (once a week for 2 years going), so how could I not give them 5 stars? I mean, I don't frequent places that I dislike. Service is always great and the staff go out of their way to be friendly and create a small-town feel to the restaurant. I've had just about everything on the menu and it's all good but my favorites are the Oak Burger and the Chicken Salad sandwich (which is HUGE!). To me, their burger is amazing. I don't know if it's premium beef, the spicy mustard, or what, but it oozes deliciousness. My wife never orders the fries but always "forces" me to get them so she can have a few, which prompts me to quote a Friends episode, "Joey doesn't share food!" Seriously, though, the fries are awesome. They're big and crispy with great seasoning. If you are looking for a healthier meal, Oak Street has great soups (chicken tortilla, tomato, etc.) and fresh salads that you can add grilled chicken to. Always check the lunch board outside to see what the special is and don't worry about your drink getting refilled as they are always on top of that. Oak Street really is a hidden gem in Roswell.

I LOVE the Oak street Cafe. The husband and wife team do a great job in the back of house and front of house. I consider myself somewhat of a french fry expert and these are the best anywhere, hands down. Whenever anyone comes to visit in Roswell and ask for a lunch/brunch spot I highly recommend Oak Street at the top of my list. Even when full For lunch The Main Event is my favorite item on the menu - delicious. For dinner they usually have an enticing steak special that I always enjoy. I also love that it is slightly off of the beaten path -- while I want them to do well I selfishly hope that there is always an open table when I walk in.

With so many great optioins in Roswell, Oak Street is one of my FAVORITES. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy great food, well prepared in a charming atmostphere served by a friendly wait staff. Depending on when you go, one of the husband and wife owners may be taking your order. Too many favorites to list... just GO~!

We took a group of six to Oak Street not too long ago. All three of the guys had the flat iron / skirt steak entree on a bed of fires. The gals had salads and everyone completely enjoyed themselves. Probably the only time I've ever said, "you know, that was soooo good, I could eat another one (of the same entree...)!" Highly recommend!

This restaurant is horrible! The worst customer service I've experienced in a very long time! There was no manager or owner on duty to complain to. The place was being run by a bunch of incompetent kids! It took 30min to get out food & the server was not even apologetic. We also found a dead roach right next to our table. I would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy!!!

  • Brent N.

We went today, which was fathers day. Crowd was not bad, and had to wait a little.service was not too great and a bit begrudging. It took almost 15 minute for a waitress to get to us and did not offer kids meal choices (two kids with us) we waited thirty more minutes for food...three out of four things were not correct...left off cheese and wrong ingredients in the omlelet. The crew bringing the food did their best to fix things, but it was less than stellar I combination with the lack of service. This is not place I would go out of my way for. Food is good but overpriced, and if you have to wait, and get indifferent service, not worth it at all.

Oak Street Cafe is our absolute favorite place to eat in Roswell. We've had most everything on the menu and go at least twice a week...always on Sunday for breakfast. The burger and fries are the best around! The chicken salad and tuna salad are both excellent. The Scottish salmon is consistently delicious. Pizza on Wednesday is so good, too! The Big Oak Breakfast and homemade granola with yogurt are great on Sunday morning. The staff is friendly and energetic. Great for a family night or a date night!

This is the best lunch I've found in Roswell -- and this review is on the lunch menu alone. The reviews saying that the menu is "limited" aren't wrong -- they don't over-extend themselves here -- but I've never had someone fail to find something they enjoyed. And what you will get, in each dish, is the Platonic ideal of that dish. The chicken salad is the best in town -- flavorful and dense without being gimmicky or full of mayonnaise. The burger (Oak, not Acorn) is as close to the way I make my burger as I've ever gotten in a restaurant (and, by the way, was chosen best in Atlanta by Atlanta Magazine). The veggie sandwich is hearty, sweet, and tart, with bread that stands up to the balsamic drench. The specials, which are appropriately seasonal and always fresh, are consistently excellent, demonstrating that the kitchen has more range than the brief menu might suggest. And the sides are outstanding, whether noshing on the tomato-basil soup (heavy on the tomato, with a pleasantly-pithy texture) or the spectacular fries, which are freshly cut and appropriately-salted. Finally, the service was denigrated in another review, and I have to strongly disagree. A fast-casual lunch format runs a serious risk of leaving patrons on their own for everything outside of the food arriving at the table. But I challenge you to feel like you need a refill on your tea, or want for silverware, before the hosts of the Cafe take care of you. I have only been to the restaurant once for dinner, but it's hard for me to imagine that it would be any less hospitable. I have never had a "regular" restaurant before, but I am proud to make this one my first. I hope more of you will make a visit to this friendly establishment. You'll be surprised how quickly they learn your name!

So, I've eaten here a few times and the food isn't bad. The menu is limited, but the food is fresh and fairly tasty. However, I really am put off by this restaurant. Now, I am not one to typically argue over a dollar and recognize that restaurants are in the business to make money. But my 6 year old daughter requested to split a full order of the restaurant's tasty mac and cheese (with bacon and a nice sauce) with chicken. The menu lists a $0.75 sharing charge. With the add ons for the chicken and sharing, we should have paid $18.25 per the menu (for mac and cheese with chicken no less) for the hearty order. Instead, the restaurant charged us for 2 half orders and 2 add ons for chicken - or $23.00 $4.75 more for the exact same dish! I complained to our waitress who did credit us $4.75 but said that for future visits the restaurant's policy was to charge for two half orders when a whole order is split (the menu does list a half-order fee for the mac and cheese - as well as a sharing charge for any plates). I asked to speak with the manager, and our waitress informed us that she was the manager. I tried to explain why I felt the restaurant was wrong in their policy, but feel that my point fell on deaf ears. She just didn't get it and, indeed, explained that the restaurant was in the business to make money. She might as well have said plainly that if they can find an opportunity to rip-off their customers, it is fair to do so. $4.75 more for the SAME EXACT FOOD. I don't generally agree with a sharing charge, but ok, it was listed on the menu. I fully expected to pay it, but not nearly $5 more for the same amount of food. That is just trying to rip me off and I object. Bottom line. I won't be back and I don't recommend the place. The food is good, BUT NOT THAT GOOD. Given the limited menu and the restaurant's attitude, YOU CAN FUND MUCH BETTER WITHIN A 1 MILE RADIUS!

Full recommend! Just went for the first time. Took a BIG chance bringing my mom and notoriously hard-to-please dad here, and we all loved everything. Dad got the burger and declared it fantastic. I got the special fried flounder sandwich, which was delicious and served on perfectly spongy bread. French fries were aces, as was the gazpacho and the tomato-basil soup. Peach crisp for dessert, which my dad called one of the best desserts he's ever gotten at a restaurant. Coffee was good and strong, and I even spied bottles of Brooklyn Lager behind the bar. On top of which: a nice open space, engaging art, friendly waitstaff, and free dum-dum pops at the door. Bravo! We will be back.

Want to grab a quick, fresh, tasty lunch in Downtown Roswell? I know there are a dozen cute little houses turned into restaurants, but this place is awesome in its own way. Order at the counter and your food will be delivered, so it's casual, but they also have table placings set up for you and comfortable seating. The menu is small and simple but really well put together. They have a really nice chicken/bacon/onion/cheese sandwich, a great chicken salad, and the best tomato basil soup in town. I most recently had the meatball sandwich, which was pretty good. The tomato sauce was kinda plain, but the meatballs were fresh and tasty and the bun pretty good. I got it with a small Oak Street Salad -- greens, bleu cheese, pecans, and balsamic. It was really tasty and a good size for a side salad. This restaurant has a classically styled, high-quality interior. It can be a little dimly lit. They also have a small assortment of liquor and a couple nice beers and wines. I really like it and have returned several times. The staff is also really polite and they have a partially exposed kitchen.

This place is located in a strip mall on Oak Street, by the Krispy Kreme. I had the burger which was good, but the person that suggested this place has said was great. What made me give this place 5 stars is the Mac and Cheese. From the menu : creamy radiatore with fontina, cheddar & parmigiano-reggiano & braised bacon. Sooo good. Service was good and my daughter was fine there (but she's normally well behaved, not sure how it would be if she had been fussy, she's 8 mo. old).

This place is a great staple. Want a fabulous, juicy burger... you got it. Tastiest fries... it's here. What about hot, fresh soup... again, you got it. We go here often cause its always good, the scenery is always warm and inviting. They recognize you when you walk in and its fast. The chicken salad is the best. The fries are, again, fabulous! Highly recommend!

I really enjoy this place. I've gone for lunch and dinner and both were exceptional. I found the wait staff attentive and friendly. For dinner have enjoyed the signature spagetti and meatballs and LOVED it. We even met the owner's mom who makes the meatballs! I am trying the mac and cheese next time! Another great mom and pop eatery!

Went for a girl's night out and had a great time. They take reservations, we were able to sit early when only 3 out of 4 of us had arrived. Our waitress was great, prompt service, checked back as needed and didn't rush us. The food was really good. Their daily specials were fresh and light. I had a great fresh tasting Kettle One Kosmo martini. Totally recommend it to others.

Had lunch here on Tuesday for the first time. We ordered the chicken salad sandwich and grilled cheese with fries. Both were pretty good but nothing extraordinary. Took about 15 minutes to get our orders delivered out to the table but nothing unexpected during the noon lunch time rush. Limited menu offerings.

Ok a few of my girlfriends and I started a Sunday ritual to meet and have brunch and catch up on our lives. The Flying Biscuit is great and all but we thought we'd try something else out and since this place had RAGING reviews why not. So Sunday 12:30 and there is a lot packed with cars. This is already irritating to me. I don't desire to go to a place that is going to be wonderful and I can't even park my car. Figure it out. The place wasn't "packed" but there was a bit of a wait, ok a WAIT we waited 15min, most ppl would leave, but we were already there and hungry and interested in trying it out. They apologized for the wait and we sat got drinks quickly, but nothing more. I had to get up to ask to place our order after 15 more min. When the server "Christine W." came over she was frantic and rude and short. I asked about the chix salad and to sample it if possible. She replied very harshly, "We don't have time for that." To my shock I felt the urge to slap her, but I resisted. I simply insisted and she obliged, I than ordered it along side a salad and it was in fact delicious! My friends loved their food as well: Eggs Benedict, and the french toast. All winners. To sum this up simply ask for someone other than Christine and be prepared to walk for you may have to park far away,

We stumbled across this place thanks to a gift card we were given and we have been back many times. The Mac-n-cheese is amazing and so rich it must be shared with others. I've bounced all over the menu and never been disappointed with either lunch or dinner items. This is a great place for a quiet date or a nice meal out with friends.

How to turn the ordinary into extraordinary! I have eaten at this place 5-10 times and every time I'm impressed. I don't like Mac and Cheese but ordered it to split with my son, I ate it all! This is comfort food and it's best and you will always find a surprise lurking on the menu. Take the chef's suggestions on the special, I've never been disappointed. This is not a burger and fries kind of place but man....these two items are some of the best I have tasted. I went this past weekend with my father in law, former chef, and he loves the place. I had the Shrimp, green beans and cream corn tonight, outstanding. The food is always fresh and HOT!
