Tom - Chee - Kennesaw Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

The secret to enjoying Tom + Chee is to order a sandwich that sounds maybe decadent. One that has chips -- who puts chips inside a sandwich?! -- a sammy that's more than a slice of American and tomato. I perused the menu online at home, scanned the board when I got to the restaurant, and stuck to my original decision: The Italian! (A lovely combination of pepperoni, ham and mozzarella, topped with crumpled salt & vinegar chips.) Added a small side salad -- the green goat -- slurped a couple of cups of Coke Zero, and walked out feeling quite content.

Tom+Chee was, well, disappointing. I'd heard all sorts of great things about Tom+Chee, but nothing was outstanding. My grilled cheese with turkey and bacon was in dire need of both mustard and salt, the tomato soup needed pepper, and the little packet of oyster crackers was just flat out unnecessary.

Greasy sandwich terrible taste the stuff they grill with.could use a little more cheese!

What a disappointment--Little, if any cheese on our sandwiches. So, my wife and I were eager to try this new eatery today (order Id: AAAR5EYYAEBT). Our bill came to $21.41 for two cheese sandwiches, one small cup of soup, one bowl of soup, and one drink. My wife asked for/ordered just water but we were charged for two (2) FOUNTAIN DRINK REG (@1.65). The pricing and overcharge wasn't so much the problem as it was the total lack of cheese on our sandwiches. Mine was smoked gouda.... Imagine you've lightly spread butter on a slice of toast. That is how inconsequential my meek sandwich was today. I could barely taste the cheese on my sandwich. It tasted like greasy toast. Nothing more. Needless to say, we won't be going back to this miserable chain of sandwich shops. Save your money folks. Go anyplace else for a quick lunch. Scott Lyons

I was fortunate to eat at the flagship store in Ohio so when my friend and I stopped at the Kennesaw store and was excited to take her. I order a half grilled cheese and cup of soup. When my order arrived my sandwich looked like something I would make at home and it was cold. Not what I was expecting.

Tom+Chee Kennesaw My first visit! Ummmmmmm, the grilled crunchy garlic chicken sandwich was delicious. I replaced the pepper jack cheese with cheddar cheese. The staff was amazing! Thanks for a great experience.

Boss: Hey, what are you doing for lunch? Me: I brought a Healthy Choice. I take it that you didn't bring anything? Boss: Yeah, I would like to grab something, what are you in the mood for? Me: I'm wide open actually. Boss: Let's go to Tom and Chee. Me: Huh? Boss: They specialize in Grilled Cheese. Me: I'm in, let's go! Who in the world doesn't love grilled cheese!? It's one of the few things that I can turn to at a moments notice, without any hesitation and eat within seconds. When I think grilled cheese, I think of my childhood. I'll never forget the times that my mom would call my brother and I to the dinner table, and the joy we felt when we saw a grilled cheese and a bowl of tomato soup waiting for us. So simple and yet so tasty! I've got to thank the founders, this really hit home for me. Although I grew up eating plain grilled cheese, this place actually has a lot of variations to choose from and even allows you to create your own. Pretty cool. I'll be honest, I didn't have any patience to figure out what I would like to create so I decided to go with something that caught my eye quickly and that was the Swiss and Shroom. It consisted of Swiss, mushrooms and onions on pumpernickel rye. You know I had to get some tomato soup with it, so I chose a bowl of the creamy tomato basil. Minutes later, one bite in and one sip in, I found myself in heaven! The grilled cheese had that nice crunch on the outside, the mushrooms were juicy and the cheese, well, it was exactly what you'd expect: warm and gooey! The soup was excellent, with the cream taming the tanginess of the tomato, savoring the flavor with each spoonful. After finishing the sandwich and soup I actually had space left to have some dessert. I love bananas so I had to go for the Bananarama. It's a donut with smoke Gouda and caramelized banana. In case you're wondering, let me tell you, it was the best donut I ever had and I don't even eat donuts! LOL So in summary, Tom and Chee has great food and great service, I can see myself visiting here often!

I had been wanting to try this place so badly after receiving an ad in the mail and hearing about it from neighbors. I absolutely LOVE grilled cheese. As in, I ordered grilled cheese all the time at work when my work cafeteria sold it and I ordered it off the kids menu when I was pregnant at fresh 2 order (and they obliged, thankfully!). All that to say, I'm a grilled cheese fanatic. Tom and Chee was good, and I love the dipper idea, but the prices here are astronomical! Couldn't they have at least given some chips and a drink included with the price of these sandwiches? Let's be honest, it's bread, cheese, and sandwich meat. If I'm paying more than $10 for a grilled cheese with chips and drinks I probably should just make it myself. I didn't get a chance to try the donut (Because you can't combine coupons!) and I'm really contemplating if it's worth the trip back to try it. Please lower your prices or at least include more in the price!

One of the things I really liked at Tom + Chee was the dipper. Basically it's a tasting size portion of one of their soups, and you dip your sandwich into it. Their most popular grilled cheese sandwich is the Flying Pig that comes with roasted turkey and bacon. By itself, the sandwich is ok. But adding the chunky tomato dipper is what made it really good in my opinion. The price seemed a bit on the pricey side when you consider that you're paying $7 for a grilled cheese sandwich with no included sides and an additional $1.50 for a small tomato soup dipper. It was fun to try, but I feel like I could re-produce it on my Foreman grill at home.

After seeing this place on shark tank, I knew that I would have to one day give it a try. I went on a weekday in the afternoon and the line was not long at all. There were a few couples in the restaurant and 2 in line before me. The place is cute, and decorated with a lot of interesting art work. Their cups are adorable and have a lot of comics and sayings on it. The menu is displayed as you walk, and here they specialize in just what the menu says Tom for tomato soup I'm assuming and grilled cheese. I tried the basic grilled cheese with tomato basil and the chunky tomato soup. I also tried their fried doughnut with I believe a blueberry compote and other delicious messy goodness. Because I am not a huge grilled cheese fan, I can not vouch for how good it is. I thought it was okay but my friend that loves grilled cheese said it was delicious. My grilled cheese was basic and just had cheese and some diced tomatoes on it which I thought added a good touch. The tomato soup was subpar in my opinion and not as flavorful as I had hoped for. But I ended with the doughnut and blueberry compote and that was super rich and delicious. I would highly recommend this dessert. I couldn't finish it because of the richness but I took it to go and devoured the rest not too log after :) Tom and Chee is a cute establishment that has now become a franchise. I'm not sure of other locations but I feel this one is cute and modern and in a great location. Their staff is also very helpful and sweet. The place is also kept pretty clean. This is a must try place especially their desert menu. I'll be back to give some other menu items a try.

All my kids could say was...NOTHING! They were too busy enjoying their Tom+Chee (tomatoes+garlic+cheddar+mozzarella on sourdough), Flying Pig (roasted turkey+bacon+pickles+gouda on sourdough) and the grilled mac&cheese (mac&cheese+cheddar on white bread). Make it a combo with chips and a drink OR their signature tomato soups (my fave is the Creamy Tomato Basil). There are three traditional tomato soups to choose from and they are all good "standard" soups. A soup of the day is also offered, which I'll try new time. There are also salads, and yes they have a GRILLED CHEESE SALAD! as well as others for those who aren't in a sandwich mood. For a gilled cheese sandwich shop I expected the sandwiches to be cheesier and they were more like paninis, but no less delicious. Crispy, buttery bread and very moist inside. OH, and you can turn your sandwich into a Double Decker for an additional charge. My son can't wait to do that - he's all about a mega grilled cheese sandwich, lol. The restaurant is in Kennesaw in the shopping center at the corner of Barrett-Parkway and Cobb Pkwy (it actually faces Cobb Parkway). It has plenty of seating (tables, booths and counter). Staff is nice and helpful if you're unsure about what to order so don't hesitate to ask them what they recommend. You order at the counter, get your receipt and choose a table. Food was prepared fresh and delivered quickly to our table. Fountain drinks are located in the back of the restaurant. During lunchtime there can be a bit of a wait, but no more than 10-15 minutes. I recommend this place to anyone who likes grilled cheese/panini type sandwiches. The menu is fun and the soups are good and flavorful. Great place for lunch with the kids or friends who still eat like kids, lol.

Heaven! This place is amazing! I have been dying to go to this place since I saw it on Shark Tank! I'm only dinging a star cause it is so far from me! These should be as close as the local McDonald's! I've been here 4x now and I can't wait to go back! Truth be told I'm a huge grilled cheese fan! Growing up, a grilled cheese and some Campbell's tomato soup was my go to! Kinda lost it for awhile. Then I had a kid! Awesome! You can order a grill cheese at a restaurant and they think it's for them ! This place has an amazing selection, custom build your own... Tomato soups! Special side dipper... Amazing! Staff is super friendly and accommodating! Super clean! Can't wait to go back! Maybe tomorrow!

Tom+Chee is a sandwich shop that opened March 2014 on busy Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw. The franchise is based in Cincinnati, Ohio and has nearly 20 locations in the eastern U.S. including another Atlanta area location near North Point Mall in Alpharetta. The business is known for its grilled cheese sandwiches and grilled cheese donuts (yes, you read that right). I believe the name "Tom+Chee" refers to a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. While the address puts the shop on Barrett Parkway, the storefront actually faces Cobb Parkway (Highway 41). It's in the same shopping center as Floor & Decor. It's easier to turn into the shopping center from Cobb Parkway. This place is popular. At lunchtime, expect to stand in line. The wait isn't bad (maybe 10-15 minutes tops) and it gives you time to pore over the wall menu. The menu consists of soups, salads, and sandwiches. You can build your own sandwich (starting at $3.95) or go with one of about 15 "fancy grilled cheese" sandwiches (each $5.95 or less). Prices are affordable. Customizing your own sandwich means choosing the bread type, cheese, and toppings, of which there are several in each category. Half sandwiches and gluten-free bread are available. There are about four or five soups including soup(s) of the day. They come in three sizes, one of which is a small "soup dipper" bowl, designed specifically for dipping your sandwich into. Along with the company's signature Grilled Cheese Donut, there are many other donut sandwiches to choose from, such as Smore and Choco Bacon Bliss. The Grilled Cheese Donut is $3.95. The other, more elaborate donut sandwiches are $4.95 each. Tom+Chee has a fast casual setup. Pay upfront, take a number, and food is brought out to you. Drinks are self-serve from the fountain machine and tea canisters in the back. They have an open kitchen so you watch the sandwiches get made while waiting in line. The restaurant roasts their own meats and creates their own sauces and spreads from scratch. Items I've tried: Soups: Classic Tomato Creamy Tomato Basil Beer Cheese (daily special) Sandwiches: Tom+Chee - tomatoes, garlic seasoning, cheddar, mozzarella, sourdough Pesto+Turkey - roasted turkey, pesto, mozzarella, sourdough Donuts: Grilled Cheese Donut - cheddar cheese + glazed donut Blueberry Blue - blueberry compote, blue cheese, lemon mascarpone Generally, everything I've tried here has been satisfying. For the complete Tom+Chee experience, I recommend ordering both a soup and sandwich (and dipping your sandwich into the soup). Out of the soups listed above, the Beer Cheese soup is my favorite. It has the most flavor and is delicious. The Classic Tomato and Creamy Tomato Basil aren't bad and exactly what you'd expect -- simple, reliable soups. The tomato soup is slightly on the thick side. All soups are served with a small bag of crackers. The Tom+Chee sandwich is an enjoyable grilled cheese sandwich. I love the crispy, crusty, buttered sourdough toast. I think the sandwich would do fine (and taste great) without the tomatoes. Either way, it's a solid sandwich. The Pesto+Turkey is nice too. The in-house roasted turkey is fresh and tender and the housemade pesto is tasty. Once again, the toasted sourdough is fantastic. The Grilled Cheese Donut tastes like it sounds. It consists of a glazed donut, split in half with cheddar cheese in the middle, grilled. Since there is more donut than cheese, the Grilled Cheese Donut tastes sweeter and doughier than cheesier. I think it's terrific. If you come here, you should experience it at least once. The Blueberry Blue is quite good too. Also sweet, this grilled donut "sandwich" reminds me of a scrumptious jelly donut. The generous amount of blueberry compote just oozes out. Sandwiches my dining companions have ordered, which look appetizing, include the Crunchy Garlic Chicken (it has Parmesan garlic chips) and Armagoetta (with goetta breakfast sausage). Service is friendly and efficient. The staff I've encountered have been polite and accommodating. Made-to-order sandwich baskets come out from the kitchen in a reasonable amount of time. During peak periods, less than 10-12 minutes. Kennesaw is lucky to have a Tom+Chee.

Believe the hype this place is very good! We had the flying pig and turkey and pesto both were excellent. The tomato creamy basil is the best by far the chunky tomato tasted kind of plain. For dessert we shared the famous grilled donut with bananas foster. Probably very fattening but it was so good. The only complaint is the prices can get pretty high once you start adding and making combos. Be cautious

I usually do not eat grilled cheese sandwiches. Notwithstanding that, I came to try one of the sandwiches and a grilled cheese doughnut. After reviewing the menu, the description of the Flying Pig sandwich looked good. It comes with roasted turkey, bacon, pickle and gouda on sourdough. It was good, but not spectacular. I ordered a Blueberry Blue grilled cheese donut. It is a grilled doughnut with blueberry complete, lemon mascarpone and blue cheese. The doughnut and its complements were good. A location in Alpharetta is due to open "soon". I would go back after the location closer to me opens to try another grilled cheese doughnut, but I may pass on the sandwiches.

Cool place, love the simple idea of it, highly recommended by a buddy, otherwise would never have known about it. We played it safe - wife and the kid got the original and I got the BLT grilled cheese and we shared a small cup of the creamy tomato soup for dipping. Everyone loved them (including our picky 4 yr old!) - only wish we'd had the nerve to take a bigger chance on some of the stranger fare, definitely doing that on next visit. Made a smart move and listened to the girl at the counter who suggested the grilled cheese donut. It was unexpected but DELICIOUS. We split it so we didn't get too full, but I probably could have eaten 2-3 myself if given the option. Do yourself a favor and make sure to get one with your meal. Fun family place that's good for kids and an overall unique experience!

Have driven by this place for months and finally stopped to try it out. The tomato soup was deliciously thick fresh tomatoes. The sandwich was good as well. The bread was fresh and tasty. My husband got turkey on his and it was real turkey, not lunch meat. But oh my. We tried their signature grilled cheese donut. Words cannot describe how tasty it was - such a unique blend of flavors. The staff was friendly and the prices are very reasonable. We will be back!

I must say how impressed I was when contacted by the owner regarding my review on May 18th (which did not speak highly of my experience). Laura apologized and asked if I would give the place another go and sent coupons as an incentive. Based on all the wonderful comments about the food by other Yelpers, I thought perhaps they had an off day when I was there and agreed to give it another try. Well I am happy to say my experience yesterday was much improved!!! I ordered the Crunchy Garlic Chicken, (changing the bread and cheese) - by they way putting chips on a sandwich, what a concept!!, along with a side Caprese Salad. Both of these were delicious. Thank you Laura for giving me the opportunity to truly enjoy a nice (and different) lunch. I will be back!!!

"You know, I don't think I've ever bought a woman a grilled cheese, before." -- Bounce (2000) Who doesn't love a good grilled cheese sandwich? I mean, childhood memories alone. Crispy grilled bread, gooey insides, bowl of tomato soup on the side... perfection for lunch. There is nothing boring about this growing up staple at Tom+Chee - they have something for everyone with toppings you cannot even imagine - including a staple from my growing up that I had never seen in a restaurant in Georgia - Goetta. So let's get down to the nitty gritty. You walk in and immediately smell your mother's kitchen - tomato soup and lots of melty cheeses. You cannot help but think back to being a kid. You are instantly greeted with a giant menu board with a ton of pre-though-out sandwich concoctions - or ingredients so you can build you own. Brilliant. One of the best ideas they offer - adding potato chips to the sammie for an additional crunch - WHAT?! I was sold. You also have soup and salad options to choose from. 3 different soups: Classic, Chunky or Creamy. And you can order a dipper (ramekin for dipping you sammie), a cup if you really want to eat some soup (not just dip) or a bowl - for the real soup eating folk (probably best for colder days). Then the salad options: Grilled cheese salad (packed with veggies and topped with grilled cheese croutons), Caprese salad (tomato, mozz, basil, mixed greens), Green goat salad (goat cheese, almonds, mixed greens, dried cranberries, etc), and then a real entree salad with chicken (I forget that one). I decided to go for the Italian - Salt and Vinegar Chips, Pepperoni, Ham, Mozz on Sourdough bread, with a dipper of Classic tomato soup and a small Grilled cheese salad. Holy Smokes! I was in grilled cheesy heaven. The sandwich wasn't too huge, but not too small either. It was the perfect combination of salty from the chips and the meats and the mozz was a mild cheese so it came all together. The dipping into the soup helped cut it with the acidity and then the chips - oh the chips - left it nice and crunchy! The salad (I opted for honey mustard dressing) was amazing. Packed with cucumbers, tomatoes and carrots, it was so delicious and kind of big for a small salad. Very filling and piled on the top with grilled cheese croutons. They do offer grilled cheese doughnut sandwiches for dessert, but this place is so busy that I kept waiting for a break in the line and by the time there was - I was too full to go get one. I'll have to go back and try one out. But I will most definitely come back here again.

I finally got the chance to try this place after a few unsuccessful lunch visits. The line was literally out the door. Tomato Soup + Grilled Cheese, what a great concept for a restaurant. You can bascially build your own sandwich or choose a gourmet grilled cheese sandwich from the menu. I stopped in to grab a quick bite while on lunch and running a few errands, but after standing in line for almost 15 to 20 minutes to order ended up just getting a sandwich to go ( it's that busy around lunch & they had only 1 cashier working) I don't know what I was thinking when I ordered pesto + turkey, which was really good but not what I expected at all. I ordered only the sandwich which was $5.95 with taxes, after receiving my sandwich I open it up to take a bite after getting into my car ( yes, I eat in my car from time to time-lol :) ) and was really shocked to see a green turkey and cheese sandwich-lol, then realize that pesto is green, the sandwich also included mozzarella cheese-yummy. I can't wait to go back to try the the original tomato soup + grilled cheese sandwich, just not during lunch. :) :) :) Note: No table service which is why the line is always out the door.

SO GOOD. Great prices, delicious food. Super fresh! The caprese salad is my FAVE. Love the online ordering system too -- I can place my order from my desk at work and our meal is waiting for pickup in minutes.

This is such an amazing (and delicious!) concept of a restaurant. This is the ULTIMATE comfort food. Like many others, I saw them on "Shark Tank" and was immediately intrigued. My mother who was visiting recently, is actually the one who told me this was opening. Funny thing is, it's 2 minutes from my house and I had no idea for some reason! They opened a couple days ago, so my hubby and I went the day after the grand opening in between the lunch and dinner rushes. You walk in and immediately you're hit with the bright, yet fitting, red and yellow color scheme. The floors are so fun. What I appreciate about whoever designed the space is the self-serve beverage station is hidden from plain view, though that may be my inner Robert Irvine talking from all the episodes of "Restaurant Impossible" I've seen. I thought it was so funny when you walked in the bathroom, there was a mirror yet to be hung, but the owners clearly had a sense of humor when they taped a sheet of paper that read "you are beautiful" to the wall in the meantime. Immediately upon approaching the counter you notice most of these workers are pretty young, probably in college. Sometimes that raises a red flag, pertaining to customer service, because of the typical maturity level of that age-group, but the cashier was so kind and knowledgable! I really appreciate they take extra measures to keep all utensils and cooktops that touch the gluten-free bread they offer completely separate from everything to avoid cross-contamination. A restaurant that gets it...even if it's gluten-free bread, if it comes in contact with a gluten-containing product, it's not gluten-free! Also, I'm a big fan of meat, so it's not my cup of tea, but I love that they offer a vegan cheese as an option. You never see that in any mainstream restaurant! The menu is huge with a "build-your-own" option OR you can pick from any of the predesigned sandwiches. I think the neatest thing on the menu is the soup dipper, which costs $1.50 for just enough soup in which to dip your sandwich, because who loves wasting almost a whole bowl of that red gold when you just want a taste on your sammy?

I tried this place on a lunch date with the hubby and I LOVED it! I got the BLT on sourdough with mozzarella cheese....sooooo good! The hubby got the ham and cheese, which he seemed to like, but I'm pretty sure mine was better. We decided to split a soup to try it since it was our first visit and also a bag of chips. The original tomato soup was crazy good. It had parmesan in it which was really good. I am definitely going back and see myself eating there quite a bit in winter...especially when the common cold hits. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it seemed a little pricey especially since we split the chips and soup it came to about $18 and that was for the small soup one bag of chips two sandwiches and two drinks.

Pretty clean. Delicious food. Great service. Too bad that it's way too far of a drive for me. It's interesting that they chose to open a location in Kennesaw. -creamy tomato soup - just alright imo; I do like the fact that they offer a dipper size instead of a full cup or bowl of soup -super mega - special of the day: bacon, mac n cheese, tomatoes, - sinfully delicious -built my own grilled cheese - rye, mozzarella, & grilled mushrooms - the perfect grilled cheese for me ~bacon choco bliss - grilled donut, chocolate mascarpone, chocolate pieces, bacon - definitely my favorite item from our visit

Saw this place on Shark Tank - and I admit - I was excited to hear about the location opening up near me. Finally stopped in today and I'm going to give them a less than enthusiastic thumbs up. But still A-OK! I had a hankerin for soup and sandwich. SO . . . I ordered the "Flying Pig" - turkey with bacon and smoked gouda. While waiting for them to prepare the sandwich - I asked to sample the meatball soup - it was okay - but I really wanted something creamy. So unknown man behind counter asked cashier to let me sample the chipotle potato soup - it was good - mild heat to it - but I wanted something with meat. The place was pretty much empty except for one lady with her kids. But there were 3 young girls at the register. The same unknown man behind the counter - who I can only assume was the manager* - somewhat arrogantly told the young lady taking my order not to let the kitchen staff put mayo on sandwich - when I asked for it - because "the sandwich is juicy enough and creamy enough (from the gouda) without it." He was standing next to her - and when I gave him the side-eye - he said, "Trust me - and if not - we've got some packets of mayo for you." Ultimately - he was right - but I did find his attitude a little pompous - especially coupled with the fact below*. I enjoyed my sandwich - but it had both dark & white meat turkey on it - and I HATE dark meat - so that definitely dampened my enjoyment. (Never thought to ask about white or dark - never heard of a turkey sandwich with anything other than white meat!) I'll definitely stop in another day - to try something else. *I actually asked unknown man behind the counter who he was - and he never answered me. He actually started joking and changed the subject. He didn't have a name tag - but I got the distinct impression that he was an owner / manager. He did, in fact, come over (while I was scarfing down sandwich) to confirm that he was right about my sandwich not needing mayo - and yet he still never told me his name. Lol. Customer service at its best!!!

The minute I heard of Tom+Chee's concept (Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese, get it?), I fell in love instantly - is there a better meal than a good grilled cheese and tomato soup? I think not. For those of you who find it to be on the more boring side of things, fear not, Tom+Chee has you covered too; their menu is huge and is filled with all sorts of variations on the classic - there's even a build your own option with a very nice selection of cheeses. Not to mention, possibly the most decadent dessert possibly ever: the grilled cheese doughnut (I know, it sounds questionable, but trust me - it works). Here's a quick rundown of everything I got to try for lunch: -Bacon + Blue (Bleu Cheese, Mozarella, and Bacon on Sourdough): This was the sandwich I chose, and I liked it - I'm a proponent of bleu cheese, so I'm absolutely fine with the flavor, but I think this sandwich would be completely fine with someone who just wants the bacon and sourdough aspect - the bleu cheese isn't strong at all, it just adds a slight saltiness to the overall flavor. -The Hot & Spicy (Pepperoni, Jalapenos, on Jack Wheat): I did not choose this sandwich, if you know me I cannot handle spicy. At. All, But I traded halves, and once I took out all the jalapenos (they're not cherry peppers), it wasn't half bad. It sort of tasted like a pepperoni pizza. -Creamy Tomato Basil Soup: A perfect compliment to a great sandwich - creamy, rich, steaming, and they include oyster crackers - YUM. We did get the bowl because we didn't realize how filling the sandwiches would be; I'd get the cup or dipper size next time. -Blueberry Bleu Grilled Cheese Doughnut (Blueberry Compote, Bleu Cheese, Lemon Mascarpone, Glazed Doughnut): OMG. The highlight og my meal, I'll admit I was a bit skeptical on the bleu cheese aspect, but I really enjoyed it. In fact, at first we couldn't even taste the bleu cheese, but once I found it, I thought it worked really well with all the components. It's a great combination of sweet and savory! The restaurant did get pretty busy while we there, but the staff handled the customer volume quickly and efficiently. We all received our food in a matter of minutes, and though Tom+Chee is a fast-casual set up (order at the counter), the staff was fairly attentive and checked on our table frequently! I just wish there was a location closer to Atlanta!

I got the Bacon-Blue grilled cheese and tomato basil soup. The grilled cheese was good but not spectacular. The bacon was of the crumbled variety. A little strange but ok. The soup was good. I'll definitely be back but try a little simpler grilled cheese. Tom & Chee is a welcome variation from the fast casual places currently around Cobb County. And a way better choice than fast food.

After hearing a lot about this place, I'm happy I finally got to go! Between word-of-mouth raving about how good the sandwiches are, and the donuts featured on TV, visiting Tom+Chee was worth the wait! It's a quick-serve, casual restaurant where you order off the menu board with the cashier and wait for them to bring your food to the table. Then clean up after yourself. Not too fancy, and perfect for the days where you don't feel like putting on real clothes. I ordered a Flying Pig: Turkey, bacon, Gouda and pickles on sourdough, with a cup of the classic tomato soup. Man, oh man was it good. The turkey is real turkey breast, not cheap deli meat, and pairs perfectly with the Gouda and bacon. My favorite was the pickles because, honestly, I freaking LOVE pickles! I have to be honest and say that I ordered it on sourdough by mistake. I really don't like sourdough and thought about ordering it on wheat, and forgot I didn't until my plate showed up. But, because it was so buttery and the fillings were so flavorful, I didn't notice the gross sour flavor while eating my sandwich. Props to Tom+Chee for making sourdough bread taste good! The soup was great, as well. I used it primarily as a dipper for my sandwich, but it stood up well on it's own. Great basil flavor that cuts the tomato-ey taste without overpowering anything. And makes your hot sandwich all the better! This combo will be awesome on cold, dreary winter days. Boyfriend got the Bacon+Blue and enjoyed it. He said it was different but in a good way. However, the melted blue cheese looks unappetizing, especially to someone who doesn't like blue cheese (me). He got the classic tomato soup as well, and also enjoyed it with his sandwich. We will be back! Though we will try the donut sandwiches next time. I'll go for the Blueberry Blue, for sure!

I mean, come on, it's grilled cheese and tomato soup, how could you NOT be a fan of this place? Lots of create your own grilled cheese options, lots of created special sandwiches, and grilled cheeses on donuts? I love that I can order a grilled cheese and get a small dipper of tomato soup instead of having to purchase a whole cup. Service has always been good, people are friendly and helpful, and our food has always been good here. Yay, I'm a fan!

So I wanted a tomato soup and I love close by. I was in a rush and have never been here. The timing was great. I waited probably 2 min for my tomato soup that I wanted all day. I was excited! I got it to go because I had to get to work. My soup was not good. "/ I ordered the chunky tomato soup with basil and I didn't taste not one hint of basil. The soup was very poorly seasoned. It literally tasted like can of tomato with some oregano and that's all.... I was expecting more from this place. I will still come back because I want to try the grilled cheese... Hopefully it will be much better than this basil tomato chunky soup that I am never going to order again.

My big bruv from Ohio told me about this place, when I heard they were opening in Kennesaw I got really very excited. I have to say it was everything and more. A true classic Tomato and Grilled Cheese the way I never imagined but all blended together so nicely. I mean the name is so clever in itself, Tomato and Cheese so Tom and Chee is just #cool My only com ain't was the creamy tomato soup was bad, what I mean by that was it seem like canned sauce, poured in a bowl and nuked for instant #heartburn. Tomatoes need to simmer to rid the bitterness and acid, some salt and pepper or seasoning would have pushed me to a five star. Excellent friendly service and reasonably priced. Most def am sold and will be back to try out the rest of the menu, for now I have these under my belt - Classic - Bananarama - Pep and Chee - Bacon and Bleu - Flying Pig - Tom Soup - Tom and Basil Soup Can't wait to try "The King" #peanutbutter #tomandchee @TomAndChee

I've been hearing about this place for a while since seeing them on Shark Tank. I couldn't imagine making a restaurant from Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup, but these guys did! We ordered a Blue Cheese with bacon and grilled onions on sourdough. WOW! I was fully impressed with the flavor and everything. It gives me something to try at home. Several selections of soup along with an endless options list to put on your grilled cheese. Several options for various cheeses, toppings, and breads allows you to try a new sandwich every time you go. The place had plenty of seating and you refill your own drinks, which is nice when you want to take one with you. THe place was very clean and parking was easy to get. I'd definitely go again!

Gone a few times, the food is great. But, the time it that's to prepare a order leaves a lot to be desired. I have gone when it's quiet, order took about 10-15 minutes to be ready. I have gone with a medium crowd, order took about 10-15 minutes to be ready. I have gone when it's busy, order took about 15 minutes. I really don't have 10 to 15 minutes to waste every time I go. So, I won't go back anytime soon.

If you're like me and you love grilled cheese and tomato soup, well then, this is your place. As a one trick pony (the name is the menu), it will be interesting to see if this concept can sustain for the long run. With some improvements I hope so. You'll find lots of variations on the old grilled cheese mom used to make. They even have gluten free options! Of course everything's better with cheese on it, and Tom+Chee gets the sandwich right, and that's half the battle (and the menu). The gorgeous M suggests one thing, though. Thicker bread would take the sammie to another level. Other than that the grilled cheese sandwiches will not disappoint. 4 stars for the "Chee". What misses the mark, however, are the soups. For me they all taste like they are one step above Campbell's and not special enough for a store whose menu is 50% of this one item. The "Tom" should be "knock your socks off" good, and sadly that's not the case. Bland and uninspired, 2 stars for the soup. Order at the counter, pay, and they'll bring your order to the table when it's ready. Nothing fancy, but good for a casual lunch. Tom+Chee is great for kids 'cause all kids love grilled cheese. Judging from the long lunch time line of moms and youngin's the Tom+Chee concept is catching on in K-town.

I just finished a hike up Kennesaw Mountain and afterwards I was hungry. I decided I could have anything I wanted and I chose Tom & Chee. I read reviews in the parking lot, but even though some reviews weren't that great I decided to give it a try. I had a bowl of classic tomato and the Pesto Turkey sandwich. So here is my take... The soup was good and the sandwich was good, but neither was mind blowing on their own. The tomato soup was clean and fresh, but needed depth. The sandwich, which had real turkey not deli meat on it was good, but it needed salt. But here is the thing, and I'm guessing why it's all Tom&Chee, when you dunk your sandwich it makes the good great. The soup and the sandwich complement and complete each other. The soup has the salt the sandwich needs and the sandwich has the depth the soup needs. Also continuing the symbiotic relationship, when you just add the crackers to the soup it rounds out the holes in the soup. I really appreciate the restraint of the single components, since most of us add other elements anyway. I will add that your kids will like this place. I didn't try the doughnut because I'm trying not to go crazy, but the two men beside me considered getting a second order. I'll come back for sure. When it comes to food trust the big man.

I'm not often in Kennesaw, so I was excited to try out this place - and it was... fine. I ordered the Tom + Chee and a cup of creamy tomato soup. The soup was great, which surprised me since I'm not usually a fan of tomato soup. The sandwich was underwhelming, though. Great bread, but way too many diced tomatoes inside. Once I scraped off half of them, I was left with a flimsy sandwich and only two slices of half-melted cheese. To be fair, it was exactly as the menu described, so I should chalk it up to a bad choice on my part. If I'm in Kennesaw again, I might go back for one of the other sandwiches... but I won't make a special effort.

This is a pretty cool sandwich+soup spot. First, I would like to say that I appreciate not getting an overabundance of food. I'm greedy but not gluttonous! LOL. I'm not one to believe that quantity is better than quality! When I received my sandwich+soup, I was glad that it was a regular proportioned size. :D I ordered the pesto+turkey grilled cheese sandwich. It was good! The pesto complimented the tender roasted turkey and fresh mozzarella cheese. Let me also mention that it was served on sourdough. I love sourdough bread! I also ordered a cup of saffron chicken soup. I know that tomato soup is their specialty but I wanted to go against the grain. I'm glad I did. The soup had a nice broth that wasn't salty and the chicken was good. I think they should make it a permanent fix versus the "soup of the day." For my next visit, I plan on getting the Bananarama! It is carmelized banana+gouda+donut! Yes, they serve it on a glazed donut! How cool is that?! Bottom Line: Go check them out. I'm pretty sure they will have something to your liking!

    (4)
  • John G.

Loved it, going just for the glazed donut sandwiches alone. Should probably have a board for recommended heart surgeons, but you gotta love it. Just wish they had hot fries and rings to go with the sandwiches!

When I first heard about Tom+Chee, I thought to myself, "Wow! What a crazy good concept. Can't wait to try it!" Two days later, I found myself inside this location, waiting in line with coworkers-hungry and expectant. The good thing about having a long wait is that there's plenty of time to peruse the menu that's mounted on the wall. Specials are written on a board over the cash register. While some folks complain about the wait, it wasn't that different from waiting in line at a typical quick-casual restaurant. I didn't mind, really. There are TONS of grilled cheese sandwich options. All kinds of ingredients and toppings ranging from pepperoni to mac & cheese to potato chips and loads of veggies. They boast several varieties of tomato soup (the "Tom" part of the name) as well. I opted for the creamy tomato basil, and one of the listed sandwich items. I noticed a few salads on the menu as well, but let's be honest....the star of the show is the sandwich and soup. One thing that's super cool is the option of choosing a "Dipper" sized soup. A small portion of soup perfect for dipping that gooey grilled cheese. I wish more places offered this kind of soup option! The staff was SUPER accommodating when a member of our party noted that she needed gluten-free options. Staff members came over twice to make sure she would be pleased with the changes they had to make to her order to ensure it would be appropriate for her. The extra attention was incredibly helpful, and meant a lot to all of us. Another note: they offer vegan cheese, for those folks who are avoiding the dairy products...so it's a safe spot to take your vegan friend for lunch! To finish, our group split a "S'Mores" doughnut for dessert, which didn't quite live up to the hype. As a connoisseur of grilled cheeses, I like what these guys are up to. It's simple and pretty affordable.

I prefer this location over the Alpharetta location. Good place to stop when I'm on that side of town. I'm pretty open to experiment but some of the donut items are freaky.

I love grilled cheese and I was so happy to hear about this place. I ordered the Tom and Chee, beer cheese soup and grilled cheese salad. The sandwich was great my only complaint is I prefer my tomatoes sliced. My first time having beer cheese soup and it was surprisingly good as well as the salad.

Three words. Grilled cheese donuts. They are delicious and amazing! If you love grilled cheese you will definitely love this restaurant.

Excellent lunch: hot n spicy chee with chunky tomato basil garlic soup. Great change of pace for lunch with awesome food and service.

  • Kat M.

So we used Yelp to find a lunch spot close. Tom +Chee came up. Read the reviews on the sandwiches, which sounded amazing. I had the Crunchy Garlic Chicken sandwich, and with Tom in their name, I ordered the soup. Creamy Tomato Basil, to be exact. Now the concept is great, tomato soups and all kinds of grilled cheese sandwiches. However, if your going to highlight tomato and grilled cheese, your soup better be homemade, and amazing. Sadly it was watered down and lacked flavor. Loved the sandwich, the soup? Not so much. And so for that, 3 stars. If your soups were on point, we would've gladly given 5. The staff is very nice and friendly, and the tables and floors very clean.

We've been dying to try this place, you know... Shark Tank, hahaha. So MANY choices, they even have vegan and gluten free choices and quite affordable too. Everyone enjoyed their order, I had the hippy+chee and grilled cheese salad, they were really good, but, It was too much butter on the bread for my taste. The grilled cheese salad was literally grilled cheese on your salad (Veggies were very fresh). We will definitely come back.

Decided to give this trendy place a try. Interesting variety of ways to make a grilled cheese. Service slow but friendly. Food decent. A bit pricey for what you got. Would I do again - sure. Why? My kids loved it ... Need I say more.

  • Paola R.

Aw yeah! This place is the best! Heard about this place from Shark Tank and had to rush over here to find out what they were about. This place is the best I recommend you get the Tomato Soup omg it's the best thing you will ever have! Also the employes are super nice and helpful! Yay 10/10

  • Brandon L.

Very tasty place. Tentative 4/5 stars until I can head back and try more things. I had the Tom + Chee sandwich with a cup of mac & cheese on the side. The sandwich was pretty good, though I felt they were a little heavy on the oil. That said, it was a wonderful combination of ingredients inside the grilled cheese: cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, diced tomatoes, and garlic powder. Very delicious. The mac & cheese is some of the best I've ever had. If not the best, then definitely top three. Those that know me will know this praise does not come lightly. I pride myself on being a mac & cheese fiend. I will certainly return and see what other delightful foods I can stuff my face with.

Aside from the obvious joy of a warm doughnut, the staff is friendly and the food is good. Both times I've tried different sandwiches off the menu and I have not been disappointed. The traditional Tom and chee is splendid with its tangy cheese. The soup is a traditional add that is warm and comforting. The first visit was a BLT. Bacon was in abundance and there was a nice touch with having the tomatoes diced. The doughnut chee is a nice desert size. If you plan on sharing you may need to get two!

    (4)
  • Jenny B.

One word - Yummy! All the grilled cheeses are customizable. The combinations are unique and delicious. The tomato soup is very favorable and a great pairing with any of the sandwiches. Make sure to save room for one of the donut grilled cheeses. Fruit or peanut butter and cheese - whatever you want. Definitely visit.

  • Anthony D.

They have a good variety of cheeses, vegetables, or meats and breads to create your own sandwich, or they have good options for other sandwiches too. I like how they had gluten free and dairy free options. My sandwich was good, it was brie, tomatoes, grilled chicken and basil pesto on gluten free bread. The donuts there are pretty tasty too. Staff were all friendly and it didn't take too long to get our food. I would come back.

    (4)
  • David G.

They make fantastic grilled cheese sandwiches. Bottom line. There is not much else to say. The soup was ok, but not amazing. I would not want to eat a whole bowl of it, but it is great for dunking. Go with the dunking size portion and save money for a donut. I had the classic donut and it was pretty good. Not the amazing that you think it would be, but worth trying. Come cold winter, this place may become a favorite lunch hang out.

  • Sara A.

Where's the beef? Sadly the meat portion of the sandwiches seems to have been drastically reduced. Also, the sandwiches seem to be sloppily made now...so much so that a small sandwich becomes a ten napkin experience. A sandwich and a cup of soup used to completely satisfy me and now I am left wanting. They need to work on the consistency - the last two times I have been there have been disappointing.

I just came from my third visit to Tom+Chee, and holy cow. This place is delicious, the service is excellent, and it is affordable. My favorite order is the Hot & Spicy, with a small caprese salad. Let me first say that at $3, that salad is a STEAL. Anywho. Add a dipper of the tomato, and life is perfect. Today, I got to try the Beer Cheese soup, and it was majestic as well. I have nabbed the Barbra Blue on occasion as well for desert, and let me tell you- Heaven! So, the food is excellent, and comforting. The service! I had an error where my sandwich did not come out 100% perfect, and it was remedied better than I have ever experienced. Wonderful! Last, I took my boss there for lunch today. He is the type that is much more "Ray's on the River" than a humble soup and sammich shop. And he loved it. He applauded the food, he praised the service, he can't wait to go back. The owner/Manager here is dedicated. He is great at his job. He insists on quality. And every experience I have had here has been so above the mark, I can't wait to go back.

I was very excited to see this come to Ga, although the location is not that near me. I was in the area so I had to stop in for lunch. Place was pretty busy which is a good sign. I had the BLT. While the sandwich was good, it was very underwhelming. When I think of grilled cheese, I have visions of lots of gooey cheese coming out of the bread, not the one slice on top and one slice on the bottom which didn't even cover the bread. The main ingredients were tomato and lettuce and bread. I'll try it once more when I am in the area to see if a different sandwich is better.

I have been wanting to try that place out for some time now. I spent almost $10 on a sandwich and a soda and I'm still hungry. I think I would've been happier going to Publix and getting a sandwich from there. The concept seems cool but I was not very impressed. I doubt I will be back.

Shark Tank is what brought us to the TomChee. I can't bring myself to 4 star this place. The soup really tastes like the Campbell's chunky tomato soup or marinara. The sandwich was good but it's really a bit over priced for a grilled ham and cheese with pickles. Now the strawberry lemonade grilled doughnut was awesome. Not happy that we paid $37 for 2 people to try the place and get overrated soup and sandwiches but it's done now. Service at front counter was friendly. The girl cleaning tables was on us from the first used napkin which was kind of annoying. Before I even had my mouth wiped after my sandwich she wanted my basket which would normally be fine if I still didn't have Campbell's soup there to eat. Overall it's overrated.

  • John N.

Really enjoyed the soups and sandwiches here. The Armagoetta sandwich is a signature here and was definitely worth it. I love that you can get a small dipper cup of soup to pair with the sandwich if you don't want a full cup. I'll definitely be back.

I was originally gonna complain about the long wait but it actually wasn't that bad... The place is very clean, the staff are nice, and the food is excellent!!! There menu is on the wall (in my opinion, the menu is not laid out very well) it takes a couple minutes to read it all. With that being said, you have plenty of time to decide what you want! :) I had the bacon blue sandwich... No complaints... It was loaded with bacon and much bigger than I had expected!!! There was an employee whom I'm guessing was the mgr. walking around and asking everyone how there food was.... Now, I don't know about everyone else but that always gets bonus points in my book!!! My only real complaint about this place is...... They have NO combo meals! Sandwich,soup,drink........ I really believe that they should re think that one..... It's definately worth trying!!!

  • Hesham D.

The grilled cheese is missing cheese. I mean how can you miss up a grilled cheese sandwich. I am not sure why this joint have 4 stars rating. All they have to do is add moreover cheese.

Went a while back with my sons. Came in with no expectations from just noticing sign on way home from work but left wanting more. Food was cooked very well and quick. I sampled from my kids stuff too. Everything I tasted was good. The tomato soup was nice and chunky, everything tasted fresh. Big menu variety makes you want to try it all. Highlight of my meal was the Barbara blue. I had to stuff it in since I sampled so much, but i just wanted more.

I'll give them this: it's a nicely executed concept that comes across as surprisingly refreshing to those of us with kids. Also, some of the nicest staff I've met at busy, quick service restaurants. But why my lukewarm review? The concept is so narrow, that it's hard to imagine coming here regularly.

  • Vivian F.

Nice concept. The place has booths and tables. We went around 2pm in hopes that the lunch crowd was gone. There was a line to order but not crazy long. I ordered the hippie+chee. I liked it but perhaps next time ask them not to butter my bread and it was very greasy to hold plus extra unwanted calories. There is something for everyone here. Including vegans and carnivores alike. Prices are average for what you get. It was nice that a manager (I assume) delivered the food when ready and came back and asked us if we liked everything.

This place is so awesome. Their menu contains a variety of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches (including dessert sandwiches) and soups. At first I was reluctant to try the Bananarama grilled cheese doughnut ($4.95) but oh my goodness was it fantastic. The combination of sticky sweet glazed doughnut with caramelized banana and Gouda cheese was mind blowing! I also had the grilled Mac & Cheese sandwich ($5.95) and tomato basil soup ($3) I will definitely revisit here soon as it is now one of my favorite places! :)

So why do people love this place? I saw this restaurant featured on my favorite show Shark Tank. I goggled it and realized that it is located in Kenesaw. I made a special trip down i-75 just to support Mark Cuban and Barbra! I know they are filthy rich, but I had to show them some love! Anyway, Upon entering there is a huge bard with the details of all the items they serve. I decide on the traditional sandwich and a tomato soup! Is that not what they are suppose to be good at? I did add a bag of chips to this to go order. Lets just say, It was just a grilled cheese sandwich, I personally think my sandwiches are better. The soup was not special at all. It is a glorified grilled cheese sandwich shop prompting itself as "gourmet". I would love to know what makes it "gourmet". Anyway, I am sure this is not needed, but I will not be returning!

Yummy soup but I felt like both my and my daughters sandwiches were overly greasy. Liked that they offer fruit with the kids meals.

I thought my food was A-OK. Nothing to get excited about, but I might give them another shot the next time that I'm in the area. I did want to let Yelpers know to call ahead if you plan on going for a late dinner. We went on a Saturday evening and I noticed that their Facebook said they closed at a different time than the YELP page did. The person who answered the phone said that they would close at 9:30 (not at 8:30 or at 9:00 like I had read online). We got there around 8:45 and they let us know that they were closing their register soon thereafter. Oooooook. Also, the address is on Barrett Parkway, but you'll actually find this place in the huge strip mall (Barrett Crossing Shopping Center) on Cobb Pkwy that also contains Bargain Hunt and that big floor and tile store. I wanted to save you a few u-turns on Barrett Pkwy. Oh, and no free wi-fi for customers yet.

Very good! I would have never thought that this would be as good as it was! I had a grilled cheese with pepper jack cheese, ham, and BBQ chips on rye bread with creamy tomato soup. It was super tasty! I will definitely be back! Such a simple premise behind this business, but it works so well!

    (5)
  • Brittany I.

The creamy soup is definitely chunky and tastes like marinara. My sandwich (which only had two ingredients) was wrong and had to be sent back and after finally getting it, they realize they aren't even preparing my friends sandwich yet. They just..forgot? I guess? So disappointing.

Great place! Nice variety of grilled cheese sandwiches. So far, I've only been twice, but I'm a fan already! Got the turkey and pesto the first time, and got a cheddar and mozzarella with bacon the second time. Both were very good. Prices are reasonable. Their traditional tomato soup was a bit too thick for me. Got the creamy tomato the second time, and it was great. Also, I got a s'mores grilled cheese donut - outstanding! I highly recommend this place, especially while it's cold outside! Nothing better than some good old-fashioned comfort food!

I was really excited about this place since my dream has always been to open a grilled cheese restaurant...but I was a little disappointed. Was it good? Yes. However, when a restaurant only makes one thing, it should be better than good, it should be perfection. I chose a Monterey jack and cheddar on sourdough with a "dipper" side of tomato soup. The soup was good (again, not great), but not hot enough...barely above lukewarm. It was a perfect size for dipping though. The bread was thick, which is good for a grilled cheese. However, my sourdough was not discernibly "sour." It could very easily have just been white or Italian bread. The slices of cheese are SO thin than I couldn't even tell what kind of cheese was on the sandwich. PLUS, the cheese wasn't melted all the way through...a grilled cheese should be full of melty, cheesy, drippy goodness...not half melted and not overpowered by the bread. Another thing that I was really not happy with (only women will identify with this one) was the fact that the serve-yourself soda / tea area was blocked off by a wall, which meant that I had to haul my keys, IPad, purse, etc. with me to go get my drink...definitely a big inconvenience for anyone dining alone.

We love this place. You can get something basic or more interesting if you want to be adventurous. The desserts are fun to try. It's a great place to impress out of town guests. Price is perfect. Set up is similar to moes, with regards to how you order.

The grilled cheese is awesome! The original tomato soup wasnt bad, but it wasnt impressive either. The menu is a bit hard to read. The staff was clean in appearance, friendly and eager to help. The food came out quick and was delicious. Even tried the grilled cheese donut and it was awesome. Much better than I expected.

Great concept. So obvious, yet I haven't seen it done before. Came here with someone who is gluten free. He was so excited that he could get a gluten free grilled cheese sandwich. This may be the first time he wasn't charged extra for needing (not wanting, but needing) gluten free bread. It's so refreshing not to be financially penalized for having to get bread that may cost a little more. The sandwiches were tasty as was the soup. To those of you who lowered your rating because of the limited menu, that makes no sense. One can give a 4 or 5 star rating to a place that has great ice cream, but that's a limited menu. Same thing for a fancy restaurant. A nice restaurant may have a menu with only 8 entree choices. Odd that you'd penalize a grilled cheese and soup restaurant for having little more than grilled cheese and soup. However, they do have more. They have salads. They have donut (yes donut) grill cheese desserts. They have probably 100s of possible sandwich combinations. Is this place for you if you don't want grilled cheese and/or soup? No. But should you give it a bad rating for standing by its concept? No!

If I can do less than one star I would . Very very disappointing . I don't know how can you ruin a grilled cheese sandwich but this place did , it hardly had any cheese in it and it was below sub-quality . Soup was barely warm . I was so looking forward to some good comfort food tonight and they successfully ruined that :( the service was horrible nobody smiled even once . Never again and advice stay home make your own and open a can of tomato soup you will get better results and for a fraction of the over priced food they have . The grilled donut was as disappointing as the food . I don't know how other people gave it even two stars .

  • Leisha L.

Never thought a grilled cheese could be so delish! We all had something different, to include the grilled cheese donut (sounds weird, i know, but be a little adventurous and give it a try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised). All choices were a hit!! We will definitely be back.....again and again! Also..for the Vegetarians and Vegans, there are several options for you too to include vegan cheese!!

  • Heather B.

This place is ok....nothing to write home about. It has several types of grilled cheese sandwiches as well as the ability to build your own. The tomato soup tastes like marinara sauce. Went once but probably won't go back. I can make one better at home.

After three visits, I'd give them 4 stars. The food has always been delicious! There's a great variety of choices and the food is super fresh. I think the prices are a little high but we will be back for sure!

Food is just okay in my opinion. Prices are a little high and that's just the sandwich. Everything else is extra for sides. There seem to be a ton of employees standing around and my husband joked that the price of the sandwich is to pay all the employees. I've had better (and cheaper) grilled cheese and soup.

Enjoyed first ever meal at this chain's first location south of Kentucky. Real cheese and real meats freshly prepared on premises definitely make for the best grilled cheese & turkey sandwich I've ever tasted. I also chose chunky tomato basil soup which went well with sandwich. Relaxed and roomy dining room with self-serv beverages much appreciated. Will certainly return soon.

I ordered a grilled cheese salad served with 'grilled cheese croutons.' The small salad was crammed into a very small bowl and served with a whole grilled cheese cut into squares laid on top of the bowl. Mundane and expensive. Four of us had lunch and it cost us $30. Don't waste your calories or money here; you can grill a fresher and tastier product at home.

Awesome! My favorite things together in warm gooey harmony. Cheese sandwiches, donut sandwiches and fresh soup? Yes sir please. Since the earlier reviews are so thorough I'll keep it simple. If ordering a sandwich with lots of toppings splurge on extra cheese. Otherwise the melty cheese gets a little lost in the process. The donut sammies are utterly amazing, do not go without trying one. The place could use a few more seats. And google maps doesn't give up the location very easily. Those are my only minuses. Everything else was plus plus plus. YUMMY!

Will there be Grilled Mac n Cheese Sandwich and Classic Tomato Soup in Heaven? This was so awesomely good! This is just like I wish my mom would have made when I was a kid. The restaurant was super busy at lunch, but it was fast. Even though it is comfort food, this place is way to close to my house for comfort!

What I can I say except "ooey, gooey, cheesy goodness. i can't seem to stop getting the pesto chicken grill cheese but I also love the tomatoe basil salad. Oh and the soups! I recommend the creamy tomato soup, and the beer cheese soup and the classic tomato soup. Oh who are we kidding? All the soups are amazing. Just try to save room for a grill cheese donut. The strawberry lemonade donut is my favorite! The service is super quick and friendly. I can't wait to go back and take my hubby.

I saw this place on Shark Tank and couldn't wait to see one in Ga. Its as great as advertised. I will definitely be back. The creamy tomato soup was amazing! I tried the pesto turkey sandwich which was also very good! The customer service was VERY good. The manager even walked around and asked everyone how they enjoyed their food. Lets just say, I hope this place sticks around.

Been wanting to go since I watched the co-founders on 'Shark Tank.' I made a custom grilled cheese on sourdough and a cup of chunky tomato bisque. With a drink, the total was about $8 which is very reasonable. Food arrived in about 10 minutes and it was VERY GOOD! The entire facility is very clean. I was asked if my food was good and if I needed anything else. I recommend this place!

They just opened 3 weeks ago and they remind me of a cheaper panera bread but cheaper. Everything is $6 or less. You order your food and of you eat in, they give you a number and they'll bring you your food. I got the Pesto+Turkey which has shredded turkey, lots of yummy pesto, and mozzarella on sourdough. Although they have different breads like rye or wheat etc which you can switch out for. It was soooo good. I'm pleasantly surprised they have me shredded turkey because I expected like a meat slice. What I also think is really cool is that they have donut sandwiches.. I would love to read what someone else thinks of it but it sounds like too unhealthy for me to try myself lol. My sister got the Hot+Spicy which you really but is really spicy. They also serve salads and like 4 types of soups mostly tomato type. I guess that's where Tom in their name came from. They should get more soups. You can also make your own sandwich. I would go here again. Everyone should try it. It's a good place for a quick bite

Can't go wrong with tomato soup & grilled cheese (esp one stuffed with bacon and multiple cheeses!). I highly recommend one of the donut grilled sandwiches. I had the Blueberry blue and it was amazing.

Go someplace else if u like food. What they served as "food" was one step above cardboard. My wife and went there and she had a bowl of chicken soup. It was water with some chicken stirred in. Horrible, had no taste at all. I had a grilled cheese and it was equally bad. The bread was so greasy that I could have wrung it out if I wanted to get my hands dirty. They had a steady stream of customers so obviously there are folks who are willing to pay good money for this crap. I'd rather go hungry. Anyplace other than Burger King would have been better. I see all these rave reviews and can't understand it.

Amazing menu, creative sandwiches, and great service!! The prices appear high, but after your first bite into their sandwiches... You understand. It's a must stop if you are passing through Kennesaw.

My hubby was talking about this place for a long time and we finally had a chance to go. I was not fun of Armagoetta Sandwich I made a mistake ordering; it's content is almost all pickled stuff, which I did not like at all. I like a pickles and picked jalapenos, but this was overwhelming to say the list. My CHUNKY TOMATO BASIL soup was too sour for my taste. I think it would have been better if it had a little touch of sweetness to it. My hubby had CREAMY TOMATO BASIL soup, but it was also sour. His Italian grilled cheese was very good though. The stuff was very attentive, considering it is a fast food joint; they cleaned up our baskets after we were done. It was close to $20 for 2 small cups of soup and 2 grilled cheeses, but you that's how much lunch cost almost anywhere right now. Government said there is no inflation though... feeding us the BS. I am not sure if I would want to go back to Tom+Chee.

UPDATE 7/19/2014: After posting my review to the restaurant's Facebook page, I was immediately contacted by the owner's wife Laura, who co-owns the restaurant with the Eric. She deeply apologized and said that she and Eric have addressed the situation, and have taken measures to make sure that it does not happen again. I am satisfied that my concerns were acknowledged and am glad that this will not happen to anyone else. Like I said before, the food is amazing and I will definitely be going back to this restaurant!! ANYONE GOING TO THE KENNESAW LOCATION SHOULD READ THIS... I searched online to find a corporate number to report my experience at the Tom+Chee restaurant in Kennesaw, but could not find one so I'm posting here to warn people. First off, the food was AMAZING...I'm a huge cheese lover and couldn't have asked for anything better than a grilled cheese sandwich with all the works. On top of that, they have the BEST mac & cheese I've had in a long time. There was great customer service and the girl who rung my friend and I out (her name is Jessica) was extremely helpful and patient, being that it was my and my friend's first time at the restaurant after being referred there by another friend. NOW here comes the bad part. I was given my styrofoam cup by Jessica to go get my fountain drink. Now let me first let you guys know that I'm pretty nit-picky about utensils and stuff when I'm at restaurants, so I always check my forks, spoons, plates, and cups before I use them. With that said, I checked my cup before I went to the drink area to get my tea and it was clean. When I went to the drink area and pushed the lever to get my sweet tea, the sweet tea comes pouring out along with FREAKING FRUIT FLIES in it!! I didn't want to cause a scene, so I went up to the manager/owner of the store (his name is Eric) and discreetly reported the flies to him and showed him my cup with 4 fruit flies still swimming inside of it. As a manager/owner, I would expect him to apologize profusely, go above and beyond to make sure that the tea dispenser was cleaned out, offer me a refund, blah blah blah, all of that stuff people do when they mess up in restaurants. He did NONE of that. Instead, he grabbed the cup, looked at it, simply shrugged it off, and said something along the lines of "oh they were probably just hanging out at the tip of the spout, just drain it some more and you should be good to go." I was beyond disgusted at that point, and I was pissed off that he didn't do anything about it, so I decided to pass on the tea and instead went to the fountain and got a Coca-Cola. The final thing I want to do is commend the cashier Jessica for going above and beyond to resolve the situation, which is something she should not have had to do because that is Eric's responsibility as a manager/owner. She came up to me and repeatedly apologized about the situation. I told her how upset I was that Eric did not do anything to resolve the situation, and that honestly, I really just wanted some sweet tea. She then proceeded to take out the tea dispenser that had the flies in it, replaced it with a new one, and made a fresh batch of sweet tea for me, and then apologized a million times again. The ONLY reason I will be going back to this place is due to Jessica's tremendous efforts to remedy the situation, and because the sandwiches and macaroni were just that amazing! However, I do not appreciate the way that Eric handled the situation about the fruit flies in my tea, and I hope that this review sparks some sort of change in management, because the current manager is obviously not that concerned about the overall health standards when it comes to running a successful, clean restaurant.

I will start by saying the doughnut grilled cheese was very good. The person bringing all of the food out was nice as well. I almost gave this place 2 stars, but those two things made me round up to a 3. The bad now. It took FOREVER to get our food and it wasn't busy. It took 20 minutes to get our sandwiches. Sit down restaurants usually get your food out quicker. The macaroni and cheese grilled cheese was awful. Nothing like the pictures. I will post a picture. The Mac and cheese was pre packed into a sandwich patty and had no flavor. It needed more cheese in the Mac and cheese. It tasted like pasta on my sandwich. When leaving we decided to take a grilled cheese (just regular bread and cheese) to my sister so we got that to go. It took another 20 minutes. My girlfriend said the tomato soup is awful. No flavor.

Best grilled cheese I have ever had. Options for everyone. Vegan, gluten free, healthy, and delicious unhealthy options. Unique soups are offered as well. Today their special was pepperoni pizza soup and blue cheese chili.

HUGE Disappointment! We expected a real quality experience and instead received sub-par food that was so lackluster, we wished we would have gone to Chik-Fil-A down the street! My Spicy with pepperoni, "cherry" peppers, onions and cheese was spicy only. The quality of the pepperoni was bottom-drawer. "Cherry" peppers were also a very low grade. The "sourdough" may have been so, but it could have been Wonder Bread, too. And the "plastic oil" that they use to grill the mess tasted artificial and of chemicals instead of clarified butter. The chili with blue cheese was disgusting. Greasy, over salted and bland. One bite was plenty. My husband's BLT had some sort of bacon bits with several pieces of chopped tomato and a few pieces of shredded iceberg lettuce. The cheese was undetectable. The sourdough again was whatever. Top that off with cheezy styrofoam cups, and it's truly a lunch to remember (to never come back). SHARKS! Are you kidding???

My sandwich was delicious and everyone I was with enjoyed their food as well. The only thing that was a little disappointing was that I could have totally made my sandwich at home just as good. So, I was expecting to get a sandwich different then what I could have just made myself.

The BEST grilled cheese creation I've ever had! The GF bread is tasty and tomato soup dipper to die for. I got the hippie something last time and the onion mushroom one this time. D-lish.

Thoroughly Average. While there was nothing at all wrong with it...there was nothing outstanding about the place either. I think the least impressive thing was the creamy tomato basil soup which REALLY lacked flavor and tasted cheap and watered down. My sandwich was good. Nothing wrong with it...but nothing I'd ever crave either. Good 80's music though. Kinda liked being able to hear that yet have a conversation too.

Delicious! We have been waiting for one to open near us since seeing them on Shark Tank. And we were able to go last night..Everything is delicious from the grilled cheese, soups, & grilled donuts. We have a picky eater & even she loved it! Great value for the price. My favorite so far is the Strawberry Lemonade Donut, can't wait to go back and get another!

I must be a glutton for punishment. I took my husband there, because he had never been and wanted to see for himself. It's either the place/workers/me, haven't figured it out yet. The line was long with one girl taking the orders. She was new and had to keep asking the head line cook how to do things, which took time away from his job. I ordered the special - Rodeo - Roast Beef, Red Onions, Cheddar, BBQ Sauce, fried Onions. My husband decided to do the build your own - white bread, mozz and cheddar cheese, mushrooms and tomatoes, with a cup of soup. I also used my free donut coupon that I had received the last time I was there and there was a screw up. We ate in this time, 10 minutes to get an order, I am ok with that. The Rodeo had too much BBQ sauce, but it was good and would try it again, just light on the sauce. My husband said his was ok and he enjoyed his soup. Now, I order the Mint Chocolate Donut - I was so excited for my husband to try it, and I cut into it and it had NO STRAWBERRIES - on of the main toppings in it - how do you forget that? As we sat and ate, I noticed that there was a guy walking around delivering the orders and looked like he was a little frazzled running around trying to take care of the orders, and helping the line and refilling the Tea Canisters, I actually felt bad for him. I noticed a woman in a Tom+Chee Apron (seen her there before) just sitting talking to a customer at the "bar". She saw me looking around for some help with my Mint Donut and came over and asked if she could help. I said, this is missing strawberries, she immediately went back and made another one for us to go with the strawberries. She apologized and said she has a new cook back there. She offered us some free soup, we said no, and then she gave us a card for 2 free meals for our next visit. She later introduced herself as one of the owners. Ok - here is my issue for today with them. - She saw how busy it was - why wasn't she helping at the register? Why wasn't she helping with the orders going out right? Why wasn't she helping the man running around going crazy delivering orders, making tea, etc? Who we later found out is the other owner. I understand that you have to talk to the customers when you own a place, but, you also have to take care of the customers making sure the food is good, if you want customers! You also have to train your employees right and help them out of you get slammed. She redeemned herself and we will go back,.

AWFUL. I am literally sitting outside of this place right now after ordering at 8:10pm with NO FOOD. At 8:35, after watching 4 people (and a friend that was sitting at our table with us) get their food before we did when they sat down after us, I went up to the counter to inquire about our food. They couldn't find our order ticket. We were offered a refund as well as our food. She promptly refunded us and said the food was on the way. It was now 8:45, our friend had already long finished his meal, she comes by and asks what we're waiting on, so we repeat our order and she tells us they voided the ticket. We decide to just leave. Ridiculous!!!! I ask for the number to corporate, and they conveniently "don't have it". They also take the opportunity to tell me our food is coming right out. Then the cook says he doesn't have the ticket! So it's now 9:05, after standing in line since 8:00, watching our friend eat, I am outside this awful establishment with NOTHING I ASKED FOR! NO FOOD, NO NUMBER TO CORPORATE. What atrocious service. My friend said it was not even that good anyway. The pizza-sauce like soup was spicy and the sandwich was not hot and not at all cheesy. We were hyped up to try this place, but we certainly won't ever be back. I still want the number to corporate. Everyone needs to hear about this.

Tried this place for lunch since I had so many people talking about it. I will give them that it is a neat little place and a good concept, but it was a one time thing for me. I had the special, it was some type of pizza rendition. My girlfriend came as well and built her own. The staff was super friendly and seemed pretty knowledgeable of their products. Wait time for the sandwiches was about 15min, when we got our sandwiches I thought they were pretty heavily soaked in grease. Had a good taste to them, think it would have made better hangover/drunk food than lunch though. Was too heavy to finish all of it. And I know it is a grilled "cheese" place but when I order something expecting meat on it give the customer more than one piece. The pizza rendition sandwich said pepperoni so only having one piece on it was slightly disappointing. Live and learn can now say I have been there and done that and will stick to my usual lunch places.

    (3)
  • Henry T.

  • Pedro S.

  • Allen D.

    (1)

    (5)
  • Heather B.

This place is ok....nothing to write home about. It has several types of grilled cheese sandwiches as well as the ability to build your own. The tomato soup tastes like marinara sauce. Went once but probably won't go back. I can make one better at home.

    (2)
  • Jim B.

  • Derek M.

D-lish.

  • Jeremy W.
