On March 22, 2015 a group of us ate here for my 50th birthday. I ordered a steak and was truly disappointed in the lack of seasoning, it was tasteless topped with a sticky type of sauce. The waiter impressed us with making some fancy drinks which was very entertaining. I have to say the best thing about this place was the drinks and the ambience.

Went on a Saturday. Loved the planes. The food was just so so especially for the price. I do give the martinis 2 thumbs up. The decor needs an upgrade and the service was average at best. I probably won't return.

We came here because we had a groupon. We both ordered steaks. I got the ribeye, and my girlfriend got the filet. The steaks were both very under seasoned. My risotto was under cooked. We did not get alcoholic beverages, so I cannot judge those. The best thing we had to eat was the caesar salad. It was JUST a caesar salad but nothing was wrong with it. Service was adequate. Our server was prompt and quickly brought us refills on soda and water. He didn't smile very much though. All in all it was not a great experience. It was not worth even the money after the Groupon that was owed. We WILL NOT be coming back.

We had a fantastic dinner for two, our anniversary! They didn't know that but still got fantastic service and food. Good lord this ford is amazing! Its on the higher priced side but you pay for what you get here. Be sure to make a reservation for this place is sure to be packed. Great dinner date type place. Enjoy!

I think they have great food, like the blue cheese chips appetizer, pot roast entree, and their pasta dish with vodka sauce. It's nice they do have plenty of TV's to watch football games and such. My biggest problem is it seems they never have enough people working because whenever we eat there the restaurant will be almost empty yet we will have to wait 15-20 minutes for a table sometimes.

It's about 80 degrees in here - inside! - for dinner on an August night. Where's the air conditioning? Seriously! Otherwise, great drinks and just decent food with a view of the McCollum Cobb County airport flight line directly outside your window. As many Yelper's mention, service can be spotty.

We dined here on a Thursday evening. My date loves watching planes so I thought it would be a nice treat. The gentleman I booked the reservation with said if we came in at 7pm we could catch sunset. I mentioned the Groupon that the restaurant had available and he said that the Groupon was no longer available. I said that I was able to buy it. He also said not to buy the Groupon that I had found because the half off nitrogen martinis could not be used along with it- I think this is silly because most restaurants allow you to use your Groupon with drink specials even when they state that the Groupon cannot be used with alcohol. Psyched about the nitrogen martinis I decided to go without a Groupon in hand. I asked the hostess for a table by the window but she said that was not possible. I cannot remember why. However, when we asked out waitress, she complied. After my date had enjoyed watching the planes for a bit, we ordered an artichoke dip. The dip came with nachos. The dip was great, the accompanying nachos not so much. A bread basket was delivered so we spread the dip on bread instead of on nachos. The bread was tasty but it was cold. We ordered nitrogen martinis with out appetizer. They were made table side and the gentleman that made this explained the steps. It was quite the spectacle. I really recommend it. We really enjoyed it. I ordered a lemon drop martini and my date ordered a chocolate-banana-espresso (?) concoction. They were both fabulous-filled to the top of the glass and strong. On Thursdays these nitrogen martinis are half off -$6 instead of $12 which is an absolute steal! For our entrees my date ordered a jerk Mahi Mahi ($20). He did not want the sides that came with it. The waitress allowed him to pick two sides at no extra charge. He chose mac and cheese and asparagus. His dish was tasty but nothing magnificent. I ordered the 12oz New York Strip (around $25 ). It came with one side. I ordered the sour cream and chives baked potato. Both our meals took awhile to come. I am hoping this was because everything was freshly prepared and if so, I am OK with that. My steak was extremely salty so I sent it back. The new steak I got was charred. I did order well-done but that means cooked all the way through not burnt. The waitress did offer to bring me a new one, bring another entree or just take my entree off the bill. My date had finished his meal by this time and my appetite was gone so I asked to take it off the bill. She offered to pack my meal anyway. I packed it but only ate the baked potato for dinner the next day. The steak was just not edible. For dessert my date ordered a chocolate brownie a la mode. He said it was good. I ordered creme brulee. It was alright. I prefer it warm and forgot that it is commonly served cold so I didn't ask the kitchen to make it warm for me-so thats on me. My date ordered coffee and said it was good. Overall, we were not too impressed with the food. However, the nitrogen martinis and the view (airplanes flying in and out) was fabulous. The sun did not set on the same side as the seating at the restaurant so we did not get to see that and thus I cannot comment on that. We will definitely be back for the nitrogen martinis and maybe an appetizer!

When we arrive there was no one at the front to greet us. That's okay though it happens, but I waitress didn't bring us bread and when we asked at the very end of our meal, she says you want me to bring it now? Uh,no we're about to leave it took her almost 20 minutes between visits to our table and she was nowhere around. MY ribeye was over cooked and someone came to the table to give me a lesson on steaks and says the rib eye has marbleing so it's a "tougher" cut. LoL SHE wasn't knowledgeable at all and spoke in a condescending way. My risotto was undercooked. They replaced it but didn't offer me anything else not a salad or a dessert after we waited almost an hour for entrees .I ordered a salad and she didn't bring it and offered no apologies. My husband still left a $50 tip although she did not work for it.

Everytime that I have tried to go to this place, there is a problem. Either they are closed, they don't have seating, someone didn't come to work, or they are out of food. If you can't manage a restaurant, close shop and go work at Walmart.

We went here for a family birthday. Although our server was nice, it took over 45 minutes to get our food. When the food arrived, it was pitiful. I ordered a salad that they are known for and was very disappointed. Burnt chicken, all white iceberg lettuce and wimpy tomatoes. We ordered cheesecake and it was dry and tasteless. It was supposed to be strawberry cheesecake and didn't have a single strawberry on it. I don't consider myself to be a food snob but this meal was below par.

A group of us Went here last night for my sister's birthday The food was so amazing that we asked them to send the chef out to personally compliment him. The drinks were delicious we tried multiple flavors all good. Add the nitrogen its so worth the price. Loved the table side show that comes with serving the nitrogen drinks. Our waitress was great and very knowledgeable. I will return.

Returned because I had a craving for there chicken parmesan and creme brulee. Sat at the bar this time and watched the liquid nitrogen martini being made. Really great! I'd personally order it for dessert though since it turns into a sorbet or ice cream texture. The bar however needs to be updated lighting is not good and the back part of where the liquor bottles are kept is really dark.

We were looking for a nice place to take out of town guests. I read prior reviews and was a little nervous. The service was fine, not exceptional but not horrible. The nitrogen martini was pretty cool. The atmosphere was great. The calamari was great, it has a nice sauce on it. The steak was very good although a little over cooked. The brisket was just ok. I do agree that the prices are a little high but overall it was a very nice place.

We were here for Valentine's Day, with the understanding that holidays are a busy time. My other half and I both have previous food service experience, so our expectations come with an added layer of empathy with the kitchen and staff. All of that included, we won't be heading back to Elevation any time soon. We arrived 10 minutes prior to our reservation time, and after waiting until 15 minutes past our reservation time, inquired about where things stood. The hostess seated a guest who had a reservation time after us, and then shrugged and said, "Well he got here earlier than you." We were also told the kitchen was behind, not a good sign when it's a fixed menu for the holiday to begin with. We were seated about 25 minutes after our reservation. Elevation has a lot of atmosphere, especially if you're a pilot, as I am. With that in mind, we were not happy to be seated at one of two teo-top tables haphazardly put on the STAGE of the restaurant. Not only in the spotlight, but with a beige wall and no view to speak of. We asked our server if we could move (after waiting 25 minutes for a reservation, what's another 15 minute wait for a decent table?). She shrugged and said no, but she would ask. By the time she came back, the table next to us (sat down after us) already had drinks and their appetizers. She again said we couldn't move, so we requested a manager. The table by us was halfway through their entree by the time he came by, but at least by then enough time had passed that better tables were now open. After that, our server (it said Rico on our check) was attentive and fantastic. He was friendly and did his job without visiting too often or too little. He made sure everything was to our liking and that part of the dinner was the most notable. The nitrogen margarita was worth the $12 expense. The other thing worth mentioning is that they ran out of many things. This wasn't their regular menu - it was a prix fixe experience with only a few things to choose from. Our dessert was nothing like the menu offered and less than half the size of what earlier diners were given. It wasn't a big deal for us, but the disparity was notable and you can't help but wonder why your $55 per person doesn't get the same deal as the other $55 a person diners. As we left, we overheard the hostess tell other people (at 9:30 at night) that they were about 90 minutes behind on service and food. This is unacceptable for a restaurant at these prices and with such inconsistency in food and service

I've become very disappointed in this restaurant over the years. I feel that it is steadily declining. The last time my husband and I went there, we were turned away because they "didn't have any seating available." Clearly there were empty tables and it wasn't crazy late or anything. The food is alright. Nothing to write home about. The novelty item is the liquid nitrogen martini, which they make table side. Other than that, and the occasional sighting of a private plane taking off or landing at McCollum, you can get better food and a more welcoming atmosphere elsewhere. I'm not sure if they still do live music. If they do, definitely don't go on that night. One time, the hostess gave us a table right next to the band. We couldn't hear ourselves speak. Terrible place for live music.

This is one of those reviews one must do out of principle, to save others from having to waste their time on an experience that simply isn't worth the trouble. Elevation Chophouse, unfortunately, falls into that category for us. Ironically, it's not because of the food. The food is acceptable; not great, but certainly good enough to come back for. The nitro martinis are novel and without a doubt impossible to find anywhere else within the state of Georgia. Our one star rating, then, is essentially because of the poor management and amateurish service. It has been twice now where we have gone to attempt to enjoy their 50% off martini night on Thursdays and it has been twice we've been told that unless we have a reservation, we were not welcome to dine. We were told this in the early evening, when the restaurant was empty. Who does this? What restaurant reserves their entire dining hall (both upstairs and downstairs) exclusively for groups and/or parties while excluding their most loyal customers, the walk-ins, who go time and time again, from being able to dine? A professional managerial staff would understand that a section of the dining area should be available for walk-ins each and every business day and if those tables fill up, well, then one waits. But keep in mind, waiting for a table was not an option tonight! No! Elevation Chophouse expects you to use your psychic powers and prognosticate when you need a reservation and when you don't! Because they'll be damned if they would waste their time on a party of five semi-regulars if they expect a larger crowd to show up sometime on one random evening and you happen to be unfortunate enough to pick that same night. It is important to be very clear and reiterate here, Elevation Chophouse is not the dining experience they are pretending to be. This is not a place that has the quality of service or the quality of culinary skill to be reservation only; rather, this is a fabrication of the management, as they attempt to manipulate the public into believing they are something more than what they are. So you may ask, what are they? Elevation Chophouse is akin to the service of a Red Lobster with the menu of a Roadhouse Grill, using the prices of an Aspens Signature Steaks, while dressing up and pretending to be a Ruth's Chris. Our advice? Pick any one of those four establishments, make a decision upon what you are looking for that evening and pass over and avoid giving Elevation Chophouse any more chances.

Brunch at Elevation today was delightful with delicious food and visual treats with aircraft outside our own window to airport taxi and runways. Western omelette and home potatoes are super, as are the steak and eggs.

Decent lunch experience. I went with several co-workers during lunch and realized we overwhelmed our poor waitress. The view (on the day I went) was ok. McCollum Field airport is not very busy so there isn't much to see on a normal basis. They have a good variety of Appetizers ranging from Calamari to Kettle Chips and the Main dishes are typical for a chophouse. Unfortunately I didn't have enough gastro capacity to get any desert nor did I see any on the menu.

This place is going downhill fast. When my wife and I started going there several years ago, the food was great, the atmosphere was great, and the service was great. We have noticed a significant decline in the past year, to the point that we don't even take our kids there anymore and, instead, take them to the 52nd Fighter Group restaurant. This is inconvenient, as we live right down the road on Chastain. We went there this past sunday and the whole bottom floor was empty. After waiting for a long time for a seat upstairs, we decided to go somewhere else. The hostess asked if we were leaving and we said we were going someplace else. She didnt even bother to try to keep us there or ask us why. Guess she has given up on the place as well. There was a party this past sunday, and I feel bad for them. Its almost like they are banking on finding people that do not know better to keep the place afloat. Just real sad.

Great food. Great service. Great drinks. I have absolutely no complaints...and I tend to be picky. And we plan on going back on a regular basis. I had the Grilled Salmon and it was perfect. I've also had the NY Strip and it was very good as well (that didn't sound very complimentary, but my standards are set by my own butcher and cooking methods -- I haven't met anyone that matches them...yet. I need to visit Rathun's and Morton's). The nitro drinks are kind of a gimmick...but they're fun and they stay cold for the entire dinner. :) We highly recommend going on Thursdays...the normally $12 nitro drinks are half price. I really don't know what these other whiners are talking about. 1) If you go to any decent restaurant before the holidays, you're going to run into planned functions -- expect it and get over it. 2) If you go to a restaurant in an airport and expect to be entertained by planes flying in and out, I'd suggest finding a better justification for going out to eat. You have to credit Elevation for working hard to be a really good restaurant and not just depending on the location to draw in customers.

The view is good if you enjoy aviation. The food, which sounds good on paper, has poor execution. The chophouse burgers had 2 slices of bacon, 1 burned on each, and the burgers were overlooked and dry. The brisket was dry as well which doesn't make sense as we arrived at 5 (opening time). This place is nothing special besides the view of the runway and the passing planes. You could do better elsewhere unless they learn to prepare their dishes properly.

I really wasn't blown away by this place, it was kind of old the drinks were OK, now the one really big thing I'd say I like about this place would be the fact that it's stationed on an airfield. I won't be making the trek, out here again.

I've now been here 3 times. Twice for large group sit down meals (15-30 people), and once for dinner. For the large meals the food was fantastic, but the service was very, very slow. Our meals were always ordered in advance (by days), so I'm not sure why the execution was SO sub-par, but the servers were absolutely delightful both times. Then I went with my parents a few weeks ago. Now, I will preface this by saying that my parents are not the easiest patrons to deal with. They are the type of folks who cook at home 95% of the time because they don't think paying extra at a restaurant is worth the cost. So when they decide to spend over $100 on a meal, they have SUPER high expectations and can certainly be a handful when those expectations aren't met. Needless to say, their expectations weren't met - in a very serious way. 1. I came straight from work (5:00 p.m.), and my parents were seated at the bar waiting for me. Both had ordered drinks, and my dad was already enjoying his beer, while my mom was still waiting for her nitro martini. I ordered a regular martini, and received it within 5 minutes, while my mom was still waiting. Our bartender, who was new, did not explain that there is a team of folks that do the nitro drinks, and they were mixing at another table. So instead, we sat there growing frustrated that my mom was not being served for apparently no reason. Our bartender, who again I must stress was BRAND NEW, spent her time at the other end of the bar, and it was difficult to get her attention to even ask why my mom was left waiting for 20 minutes. 2. My mom asked that we be transferred to a table once I arrived. The bartender said we needed to close our tab, and she would ask for us to be seated. It should be noted here that they have drink specials on Thursday nights, and it took 15 minutes or so for her to close our tab because she needed a manager to enter the drink special code. We still weren't seated. My mom reminded the bartender we needed a table, and she yelled out to another server. This server told the bartender to put us at the bartender's booth. We were lead over to the booth, which had not been bussed or wiped down, and stood dumbly next to another table of patrons eating, while we waited to be seated. 3. The bartender, who was also now our server, was just flat out horrible. She sat us without menus, brought the menus but no silverware, didn't take our drink order (our glasses were basically empty by then from all the waiting at the bar) until after she brought the bread, 15 minutes after being seated. We ordered a bottle of wine, but didn't get that for another 20 minutes. I don't blame her. She was BRAND NEW. Why on earth would you have a brand new server work both the tables and the bar?? I watched her, and she was making all of the drinks that night. It was really ridiculous. I will say she tried to maintain a positive attitude the whole time and didn't take my parents' shortness personally. 4. Our food came out. My mom's broccoli was cold and my dad's entree was wrong. At this point, we were just tired and frustrated so he didn't say anything. A few minutes later a new server came over and said she would be our server for the rest of the evening. She asked my dad if he received the wrong entree. He said yes. They comped his meal, and brought out what he had originally ordered to bring home in a doggy bag. Our new server was also very friendly. 5. At this point there was practically a team of folks serving us. The manager offered to comp a dessert as well. We ordered the hot fudge brownie for me and my mom (...it was neither hot, nor fudge) and my mom asked to see the menu as she was going to order something else for my dad - we did not expect this to be comped. We didn't get the menu until after we received the brownie. Look. I tried to write a succinct review, but basically our dinner was a HOT MESS. I don't blame the servers. They really tried to stay positive and friendly throughout, and I give them credit because the same could not be said for my parents, and our servers dealt with them very professionally. But in the end, our meal was almost 4 hours long because of truly horrible (though never rude) service. To spend a night out, and to spend over $100 on a meal, this is really unacceptable.

Talk about wow-factor. This place was great! The draw for this restaurant is that it is positioned right off McCollum Field, so you get to see all sorts of planes and helicopters taking off or landing! Fun! Seeing as how I like all things science, I was giddy when my date ordered one of Elevation's Liquid Nitrogen margaritas for us to share. And I thought tableside guacamole was cool! Psh. This was way better. Our server dumped liquid nitrogen into a bowl about 2 feet away from me, with the associated smoke creeping across our table and creating a cloud around us. SO COOL! We became the center of attention in the restaurant, so don't order this if you don't want people looking at you. But I say--- ORDER IT! The end result was delicious as well; we had the strawberry lime flavor. It ends up as almost a sorbet (i.e. not drinkable) and perfect for sharing. As for the dinner menu, nothing on their app list stuck out to me but all of the entrees looked great. They're a little pricey, starting at $15 but mostly landing in the $18-$21 range. I ordered the beef brisket. Normally I wouldn't order something on first date that is so difficult to eat (maybe I'm the only one that has trouble with brisket?) but the description kept luring me back. It was a good choice- I received a HUGE hunk of meat and every bite was flavorful. My meal came with a side of Mac & Cheese - that I'm pretty sure was pre-made and just reheated, but nonetheless...it was really good. I ate every last bite. Yum! Service was excellent! Our server, Paige, was friendly and came around just at the right times. She had the right amount of interaction with our table...great job. The only thing I'm not sure about is the ambiance. It's right on the cusp of casual and "smart casual". I was wearing jeans and a shirt, so were most other people, and it's not like the tables had white linens or anything. But they seem to be pressing for a nicer clientele. Also- this place is small, I'd recommend reservations on busy nights. I heard Saturdays they have live music and it's LOUD - so check with the restaurant ahead of time for a reservation and to see what events they may be having. I'm not sure how often I'll be back in Kennesaw, but this place is a gem! Excellent view, awesome liquid nitrogen drinks (half priced on Thursdays, FYI!), decent food, spot on service...it all makes for a great meal!

  • Claudia C.

As Kennesaw restaurants go, Elevation is in the top tier, but given the pool from which to choose, that isn't saying much. All the food is obviously purchased from a food service as opposed to prepared in-house. Steaks are just OK, but have a freezer-burned quality to them - still a bit tough even when cooked rare. Service is also mediocre, and the liquid nitrogen martinis are just obnoxious. We have stopped going here because the food quality has declined.

I've been here twice, and I don't understand why they always ask for my name and number before I can be seated. The spinach and artichoke dip is delicious, and I have gotten it twice. I recommend the Filet Mignon, it is accompanied with a very savory sauce. The customer service could be a little better. It is right next to the airport, but I hardly see any aircraft movements.

All I can say is, I'm glad I had a $25 restaurant.com certificate, since this was a less-than-mediocre dining experience. From posted photos, I expected a sleek and interesting restaurant. Nope. It's shabby, doesn't appear very clean -- and at 7 p.m. Saturday, the place was filled with loud and crying kids. The hostess, who should be gracious, was a no-personality dullard, who seated us at the worst table in the place, despite my protestations. (Our waitress got "permission" to change us. There were plenty of available tables.) I read about an "amazing" appetizer: homemade bluecheese chips. Save your money. What's amazing is that they charge $9 for them. Feh. My husband ordered a rib eye, which he said was good. I had grilled chicken breast, since nothing on the menu sounded all that interesting. The best thing on my plate were the stringbeans, which surprisingly were crisp and flavorful. We both had side salads which were supposed to be mixed greens with homemade ranch dressing on the side. The greens were predominantly spinach, the dressing -- I think it was Wishbone -- was already on the salad. It was like a salad from Bob's Big Boy. Only not-as-good. Food was served all-too-quick. While we were eating the crappy appetizer, our salads came out, and within a few minutes, the main course. We were back in our car literally 52 minutes after we walked in... I'm never comin' back.

I have yet to actually have dinner here however I did finally get around to having a drink with a friend here after it being on the list of places I had been meaning to try for a while. I continuously hear about the liquid nitrogen martinis from friends and that the food is pretty great as well. I'm glad I finally gave it a shot! The martinis were awesome! As cold as the last insult from your ex and excellently prepared by the staff! My friend decided to order some spinach dip and the quesadillas to snack on and both were phenomenal especially the spinach dip which was a nice portion and not light on the dip at all. The general atmosphere was relaxed and the other bar patrons were quite friendly. Definitely a place I'll return to!

the atmosphere is pretty cool idea, except for the fact that no plane landed or flew out. i wasnt sure if this was a fancy restaurant or just trying to be fancy. there was only one bathroom, so there was a bit of the line to use it. the food was ok. i ordered the asian salmon (although i didnt find anything asian about it) and my fiancé ordered the burger cooked medium. normally i would be the picky one, but when his food came out wrong, i knew the cook sucked. it was well done and very burnt around the edges, who would sell that?! yea i get that "the windows are tinted blue" so it might not look correct, but it didnt taste correct either. i shined my flashlight app over it and it looked even worse! my food was acceptable, but a bit over priced since it lacked flavor. the service was very good. she was very friendly and professional. definitely knew what she was was doing and my drink was refilled before i even noticed. a tall man in a button down shirt came to our table and spoke to us, i did not realize he was the manager until after he left. his shirt needed to be button up one more button and shirt should have been tucked in, he looked like a creeper instead of a manager. maybe a "hi im _____ and im the manager this evening" would have been nice. also, there should be blinds or something, the sun was in my eye until it finally went down.

My wife and I went here with some friends and had a good time. We made a reservation for 6:30 on a Saturday night and only waited 5 minutes when we arrived right on time. We requested upstairs but were sat downstairs, oh well. There were a few things that weren't amazing, but not the worst things in the world. We were planning on using Groupon deals and called ahead to make sure we could. The Hostess said her manager said yes, but when arrived the manager told us no and that he never told anyone yes... miscommunication. Our appetizer took 20-30 minutes but the manager brought it out and did not charge us for it. The food took another 10 minutes and tasted good, but the portions were not worth the price. The "experience" wasn't amazing because no planes left or landed while we were there. Maybe Saturdays are not the best days to go?

  • Alan S.

Arrived at 6:35 for 7:00 reservation and was seated immediately at window overlooking runway. Had a 10 minute wait to be recognized by a server who apologized saying she didn't know we were there. My date started with an excellent $9 martini while I had a $3 draught beer. Her $19 shrimp looked and tasted excellent as did her asparagus, while my (overpriced at $15) medium hamburger arrived well done. Fries were okay but not crisp. Nice atmosphere but should have ordered the shrimp. Used a Groupon so it was worth it, but probably wouldn't go back without one.

The service is a slow, cruel joke. We sat for 7minutes before a server even acknowledged our presence. The table we were sat at was dirty, and the music is painfully bad muzak. Parking was a nightmare and the hostess required our full name and phone number to be seated. They literally can't cook a steak to save their lives, we ordered medium, it came out well, well done with the texture of a leather boot sole. We asked for steak sauce because it was so dry, they brought us an empty bottle. The eggs were over done and ice cold, the butter on top wouldn't even melt. The bathrooms were nauseating, as was the sticky floor that looked like it'd never been mopped. Seriously, how is this place still in business??? Worst restaurant experience ever.

The view is beautiful...especially at night when the runway is lit up. This location is a tucked away gem in Kennesaw but the food is very dependent on the chef of the day/night. I would recommend brunch since you will get more for your money. Dinner is way too overpriced for the portion size. I'm not a fan of paying $30 for a thin slice of poultry and scoop of mashed potatoes, just saying. I've been there for brunch twice. First time on a Saturday afternoon...food was so good that everyone's plate was completely finished. Returned for Mother's Day and was disappointed. Food was not at all good. Tried to use a restaurant.com gift certificate and was advised that I couldn't because it says so in the fine print. Well, it didn't say so in the fine print so the manager came up with some bogus reason why it couldn't be used. Nonetheless, I probably won't be going again unless there is a groupon or coupon of some sort involved.

Went to Elevations Saturday night for my birthday dinner and I have to say that service has improved greatly since my last visit. Our server was very attentive, friendly, upbeat and took great care of our party of six. Dinner that night was great. We started with calamari and hummus for our appetizer, both were wonderful starters. For dinner I had the NY Strip Steak with a baked potato; the steak was cooked just right and marinated with the right amount of seasonings and zest. Drinks were great and they were STRONG! One of my party had her drink made with liquid nitrogen; not sure that was worth the extra $4, but to each their own. I had a Jack on the rocks that came out as a triple. Also that night they had a DJ; the music was bumping and the crowd started jumping. The party was getting wild and I was just getting in the mood. I had to bust a move! All in all, it was a fun night of drunken debauchery.

Flew in this evening, and as pilots will be, hungry. We decided to forego our first choice, to go into town a short distance away and pass up a wonderful restaurant so that we could try Elevation Chophouse. Regrettable. I can tell that management is wanting this to be a great place to eat, but they still have a way to go. We were seated promptly upstairs next to the window, where the view was great, but the seating uncomfortable and unnatural for enjoying the sights of a semi-busy small airport. Drinks were brought quickly, as was the seemingly fresh-out-of-the-bag store bought bread and butter. For an appetizer, we ordered the calamari. It arrived cool and with standard flavor of too salty, though lightly breaded, and quite chewy...really unpleasant. We both ordered the beef brisket, since the waitress spoke highly of it, and so did the attendants downstairs. My partner's order came with the brisket and creamed spinach and asparagus. Mine came with asparagus and a loaded baked potato. The asparagus was quite good, adequately steamed and crisp lending a good asparagusy flavor. The creamed spinach was very creamy and almost soup like, though very tasty. The loaded baked potato was perfectly baked through, tender with a browned skin, melted cheese, large glob of sour cream and very crispy bacon all served hot. The brisket was a complete disaster. Cooked for 7 hours, the brisket was served in a large chunk, tough and stringy resembling bland pot roast more than the tender beefy brisket it should have been. There was a sweet sauce over the chunk that actually distracted, or hid, the much desired beefy consistency and flavor. Seems that brisket should be cooked at a very low temperature...lower than this chunk had been...and for way longer than 7 hours. Very large disappointment. My partner ordered creme brûlée for desert...I passed, afraid that desert would follow suit to the main course. I was right. He could only eat half of the brûlée; when I tasted it, it had the consistency of quiche, too eggy, almost chewy and obviously overdone, though the sugar crisp over the top was flamed quite nicely. Overall...won't be going back. Not worth giving a second chance. Service was only minimal, though our waitress was kind and accommodating. We did not have anything alcoholic...could be the nitrogen Martinis are the thing to have here...they looked fun. But the food...there's a lot of room for improvement and I certainly hope there will be.

Unfortunately, the service was so bad that it warranted me writing a bad review- too bad this horrible experience has to be my first review on yelp. We ( my significant other) and I went there on a Saturday night. We waited 45 mins for a table ( understandable - we didn't have a reservation and their upstairs bar area was nice so we didn't mind waiting while having a few drinks), but our issue started once we were seated for dinner. 1. We were seated at 8:20. Server never said his name( the entire time we were there). 2. Our dinner order was taken shortly after seating, but then we didn't see the server for a really long time. Like, 40 mins later when he dropped off some bread and darted away. 3. At 9:13, we were told the kitchen was out of one of the entrees we ordered. We couldn't understand why it took almost an hour to let us know that one of the entrees was not available. We were going to see a show later that evening, so even if we wanted to wait around for them to cook another entree (which we weren't going to do anyway) we couldn't because of time constraints. We asked to see a manager. When we questioned the manager as to why it took almost an hour to let us know we would not be getting an entree, his response was that they were busy and we came without a reservation. I will never go back. If I want a steak in the area with nice surroundings where I know I'll get good service, I'll just go to Ruth's Chris.

That's $100 I'll never get back. We went for an early dinner. First thing you see when you walk in is a hand written "please wait to be seated" sign that looked to have been there for years. The place is dirty. It was hot inside. Our server did not know the specials. Drinks were good! Key lime Caesar salad - very little flavor. Ordered my steak medium, it came well done. The server asked how it was and I explained that it was well and I asked for medium. He told me that because of the window tint it only looks well done but it really isn't. Nice. Good thing it tasted over cooked too. The people behind us had to get up and find someone to get them drinks...the place was not busy. Bad food, bad service. We'll never go back.

Took a date here last Friday night. The service was good and the food was good, but my date thought that it was EXPENSIVE (so did I)! The BIG DISAPPOINTMENT was that the DJ that I heard was there on Friday & Saturday nights was not there. Now, I was told that he's only there on "special" (undefined) occasions. This is not very conducive to making plans for a nice date. It might be a good idea if their phone would be answered OR voice mail requests for entertainment information be responded to OR e-mail, submitted from their website, with questions would be replied to OR current & upcoming activities would be posted on their website. This doesn't seem to be too much to expect of a modern restaurant that wants to create business. BTW: This place could produce a great cash flow & be a gold mine for the owners. There are hundreds of senior citizens in Cherokee & Cobb counties who still are active dancers & would love to have a place to dance to the songs of the '50s, '60s, & '70s. Mr. M. B., this clientele tends to spend money, drink responsibly, respect property, & behave themselves. Please think about the benefits to you & Elevation of attracting them.

This was one of our favorite restaurants! We use to go here at least once or twice a month for Dinner when we first moved here two years ago. Now we hardly make it once every other month or so. The service is just bad to very bad (unless you sit at the bar then it's just ok). Many times we have waited for drinks, for someone to even approach us after being seated and then again for the bill. Nice people just no clue on how to staff a restaurant. The menu is excellent but sadly they seemed to have lost their passion over the last year. Nothing has the flavor or quality as it once did. My favorite was the brisket with mac & cheese. Use to be the best in town but now it's very fatty and tasteless with lower grade mac & cheese. We also would always get the chicken pasta dish. Once again, just not the quality it once was. The drinks are expensive too. Even the beers are premium priced and this is a big downer for us anymore. Just sick of feeling ripped off every time I order a 6.00 pint! They do have live bands or DJ play on weekends. Sometimes pretty good time but mostly a crap shoot. I would love for this place to make a comeback. I'm rooting for them but they will have to make some major changes in service, kitchen staff and management in general for that to happen. Pros: Cool location overlooking the airport. Can be romantic at times. Cons: Food & service lost its flair and quality. Prices are over the top.

I love the food here. It's so good and the bartenders are awesome. The servers, however seem so out of touch. Every time I've sat at a table, it's like pulling teeth to get your server back, but like I said, the food is awesome and the bartenders are great.

Blue cheese chips pretty good. Sirloin and baked potato okay. Steak was cooked medium but seemed like more medium well. Neat place over looking runway at airport.

The ribs are great and my wife enjoyed her steak. This was the 2nd visit to the establishment and it improved from our 1st visit. If for no other reason, you have to go here to try the Liquid Nitrogen Margarita. It is just an event to see them make this at your table.

I've never had a bad experience in dining at elevations, I don't know where some of these reviews about horrible service is coming from but either way this place is a great place to take your special someone on a date. As a matter of fact, my boyfriend and I will be there on monday 5/7/12 to celebrate his air force recruitment and for passing his flight physical!(: Yes, the food is a tad bit on the expeni side but what did you expect? I mean you're probably paying for the atmosphere and the view, but either way its well worth it!

Giving 3 stars because brunch on the weekends is awesome, but recently had dinner and it was horrible. Don't order the ribs, disgusting

Our family has dined here many times in the past and has had fairly good experiences, but today was not one to add to that list. We had Sunday brunch. My husband ordered the Steak and Eggs Platter. More than half the steak was grizzle/fat! Yuck! The biscuit was hard as a rock. I told the server, but she did not have anything to say and proceeded to bring us our bill. Really disappointing!

Great ambiance, but skip the food. We met there with another couple last night. The hostess and wait staff were courteous & efficient. The food, however is another matter. My $18.00 grilled seafood platter was about the size of an appetizer....seriously, 3 average sized shrimp on a skewer, a medallion of grilled whitefish slightly larger than a silver dollar, and a side of brocolli, salad is not included. My wife's sirloin steak looked good when it arrived, but was tough. We'd go again for afternoon drinks and to watch the planes, but that's about it.

"Cooooool!" I oohed toward the end of my table at Elevation Chophouse. Four seats down, a male in my large party recorded a helicopter take-off with his iPhone. The video footage spans about 10 minutes of intense rotor spinnage followed by a 10-second take-off; it was so anticlimactic but not because I'm easily entertained. Staring at the expansive runway through the floor-to-ceiling window stimulated my appetite, so my creamy wedge salad shut up my growling stomach. I enjoyed my grilled skirt steak entree as well, although the medium-cooked meat sat a little dry. The two sides (sauteed spinach with caramelized onions, and a potato cake with goat cheese and chopped vegetables inside) compensated for the moisture the beef lacked. The live music riled up the room, too. A black banner with the words "Too Smooth!" in cursive convinced me jazz tunes soon would blare. However, a man and woman belted '80s covers like "Keep Your Hands to Yourself" and "Don't Stop Believin'" instead. An older couple twisted through the aisle and shook their booties in front of the stage, grooving better at 60 than I can at 27. That man knows how to keep his marriage alive.

Getting a free (almost) meal since we fueled the airplane yesterday and today. The FBO next door has a deal with them. Awesome view out over the ramp and runway at McCollum Field north of Atlanta. Got seated and an awesome looking buffalo chicken sandwich whizzed by to a nearby table. Menu taunted fresh ground steak burgers so decided on that with caramelized and onions and jalapenos. yes it is pretty good. if your in the area good food!

First time eating. Served raw chicken. Not pink but stone cold raw. Second time, dry roast. Might go back to drink. But the raw chicken was the kicker. And I actually went back a third time. Shrimp appetizer tasted freezer burned and they had a pear crisp dessert and that too was freezer burned. WOW

The best thing I can say about the place is the view. The server was also nice. However the food was horrible. We ordered the seafood platter and it was a joke. The fish tasted like frozen food from Walmart. The crab cake was tiny and also tasted like it was made in a microwave. Don't go here to eat!

Hmmm........ 3 stars, 4 stars, 3 stars, 4 stars.......oh well, I'm feeling generous, so I'll give it 4 stars, even though things started out iffy. My girlfriend and I took my mother there for her birthday, and we had a bit of a problem getting seated in the upstairs dining room where we wanted to be, but we held our ground and got to sit where we wanted. (Bad form, Elevations). Mom was very thrilled to get to watch the planes, and after she watched some people take a bi-plane flight she actually wants to go on one herself next time (she's 86!) We all shared the rock shrimp appetizer which was really yummy! I ordered the Shrimp and grits, which was good, but somehow the sauce it was cooked in was a little too sweet for me. Mom had the filet mignon, which she liked too but was a lot more well done than she wanted, and my friend had the grilled chicken breast which she really liked. The piece de resistance though was their signature liquid nitrogen margarita! Now that was a hit, and is probably mostly responsible for my 4 star rating. It was quite a show watching our waitress (very sweet girl btw) make this concoction that looked like it came out of Dr. Frankensteins lab, but turned out to be very delicious. We had the mango margarita, mom's choice, and she drank most of it herself! All in all, it was a nice evening, and I'm sure I'll go back again.....probably when mom goes on that bi-plane fight!

Wasn't particularly impressed with Elevation. If you go, definately get the liquid nitrogen margaritas; mango flavored!! We had the calamari, empanadas & blue cheese chips as apps. Everything was under-seasoned & their was too much balsamic on the chips making them way too sweet. My husband really enjoyed his ribeye. He said it was cooked to his temp., but it was a bit salty. All others at the table were happy with their steaks, too. My entree was overlooked & under seasoned. The staff was friendly, but was hard to find when you needed anything. I'd go back for drinks & plane watching, but will probably pass on the food.

First time will be the last time. I should have paid more attention to earlier reviews. The service is very slow the food is mediocre. After waiting 15 min for a drink I went to bar to get it myself it was there the whole time. The kids chicken tenders are so nasty my 6 year old would not eat them. I took a bite. Very nasty!!! My wife ordered a steak well done. It came out med rare. I asked to speak to the manager but he was too busy to see me. Save your money and go somewhere else

Great friends, great dinner! Tried this place with some friends tonight and had a great time. Our friends were at the bar with a Martini topped with Nitrous Oxide. Pretty neat how they did that and the top of the drink was frozen/slushy. I had a Chocolate Martini which was delicious as well. The food was delicious. They had the Beef Brisket and Salmon and we had Meatloaf and Shrimp Pasta. All were delicious! The service was good and the food came out quickly. The building is in amongst the hangers at the airport so during daylight hours you can watch planes come and go. It is a two-story restaurant with the second story only going around the perimeter, leaving you able to look down on the lower floor. They have a band during the weekend nights. Richard and I left before they started, however, our friends stayed to listen. They had a really large group come in near the end of our meal that got loud and the bar areas get a bit loud, but we had a great time. I would definitely recommend this for the food. Everything is great. Driving in can get a bit confusing wrapping around other buildings, but not too bad. I would suggest reservations as they were very busy by 7:00.

I'm a fan of this place for the sheer experience and the unique location. Been here a couple of times with some friends, cool place. FOOD Spiced Seared tuna salad is definitely a noteworthy dish. The calamari was really good, and the G5 nachos were pretty good as well. Decent variety of beers on tap. We cleared our plates. SERVICE 1 time the service was par, and the other time definitely above par. My impression is that the crowd is a little snooty, so perhaps the par server expected as to be such as well. The above par server on the other hand recognized our collective awesomeness, and she even hooked us up with a brew for my buddy's birthday. Always appreciated. THE VIEW It's not really high up off the ground, but having a private runway as the backdrop is really great. This is the selling point to me, it makes for a very cool, unique experience. Kinda gives you that feeling when you're on vacation and waiting at the airport for your flight to take off, anticipating the adventures that await you at your destination. The couple of times that I went, it was a nice clear evening so I was able to see multiple private planes and a couple helicopters take off and land. Witnessing it all was cool. The crowd at the bar seemed to be much older. VERDICT Not my type of place to be a regular, but worth a try, especially on nice, lazy evenings.

We almost didn't go to Elevation after reading some of the reviews here on Yelp, but based on a friend's personal recommendation, we went here for our anniversary. Everything from beginning to end was perfect - the valet parking, the hostesses, our server, the food, the view. Don't see how it could have been better. Our reservations were for 7:00 and we arrived right on time and were taken immediately to our table. Since it was a special occasion, I had requested a table with a nice view and they had it ready for us. We had the spinach/artichoke dip for a starter (maybe the best we've ever had), then both had steaks for our entree. The steaks were cooked perfectly and were melt in your mouth good. Our server was attentive, helpful and very friendly. We will be back!

The food was below average and over priced. The atmospher is great, but uou cant get over the college dorm room valentines day stab at cooking for their significant other style of dinner. Most things are from frozen boxes it seems with a sad attempt at plating. This place needs new management ornit will be out of buisness in the next couple of years. It comparable to a low end TJIFridays, but where you pay $20 for a plate vs $11.

I'm so, so disappointed in this restaurant. We had high expectations coming in, especially since it's on the runway (I'm marrying a pilot soon), and with the price tag. Sadly, the experience did not live up to our expectations, and we won't be back. We came in on a weeknight for dinner and got a table upstairs. The kitchen is downstairs, and we saw the staff running up and down the whole time. Guess they get their cardio in while at work! The layout upstairs is nice, but they could change things and accommodate more people. They only have large tables (that seat about 6) right next to the windows overlooking the runways, and we felt bad taking a huge table for just the two of us. So, we sat in a booth that had a decent view of the runway that was next to the opening to look down into the kitchen. We started with the spinach artichoke dip that was surprisingly good. It had great flavor with a kick to it, served in a generous portion with tons of tortilla chips, salsa and sour cream. We ate almost the whole bowl! The salsa was really good, too; very smoky. However, there were several tortilla chips that were under-cooked in the bowl, and they didn't taste like house made chips. They are probably store-bought, and the assembly line didn't cook them correctly. We also got a liquid nitrogen drink. This is something they push heavily as one of their signature items. You can get a drink without the nitrogen and save yourself $4. Just note that if you're not a fan of vodka or tequila, you probably can't get a liquid nitrogen drink made with your favorite liquor. They made the drinks table-side. It's cool to watch all the steam coming off and to have the frosty top, but it's a lot of hype, in my opinion. Oh, and at some point we got a bread basket. Full of stale bread. We sent it back after a few bites. Next, we split the filet with asparagus. Our server told us the steaks are why people come here, so we gave it a try. The steak was okay, a little salty, and ultimately nothing to write home about. The most disappointing part was our side of asparagus spears because we only got 4 spears. Yes, you read that correctly: FOUR SPEARS OF ASPARAGUS. As a "complete side". Really?! And, yes, that's the only side we got! Most steak places give you a potato and a side, but Elevation only gives you a choice of one side. You can add a second one for $5.50... Which is hard to justify when you're already paying $30 for a steak. I really can't express how disappointing that was. I feel like we got ripped off. Also, do you notice how we split everything? That's because it was all so overpriced. They really could knock off a few dollars and balance out everything. You could easily blow $100 without getting to dessert. We paid and left, and quickly decided we won't return before leaving the parking lot. The check came out to $55 with tip for spinach & artichoke dip, one drink, one steak with four asparagus spears, and stale bread. After our $10 gift certificate from restaurant.com . That should have been no more than $35 considering the quality and portions of what we got. Worst of all, we weren't completely full when we left and got dessert at a frozen yogurt shop on the way home. At least we know our $8 was worth it. Finally, if you want a good steak, go to Outback or Longhorn. You and your plus one will be able to have a good steak while paying a fair price, and be able to spring for extra drinks or whatever you desire. And, come out ahead compared to Elevation.

I've always wanted to try this place simply for my love of aviation. I went to ground school and took flying lessons when I was a teen. It was nice to eat dinner besides some of my old friends. We sat by the windows but the runway was pretty dead that night. Nonetheless, we had a good time. Our server Jennifer was diligent and quite friendly. The bartender came tableside to pour my liquid nitro martini and it was nothing short of amusing. My salmon was delicious and hubby's NY strip cooked medium was full of juicy flavor. The mac and cheese wasn't bad either. Valet parking is complimentary too! The prices were reasonable considering the fun you have.

My co workers and I gathered here to wish another coworker farewell. This is a very nice restaurant, but I almost thought I should have been there with my man. Lol. The setting is very dim lighting, kind of a romantic atmosphere. Not a big menu, but the food was really good. I ordered Chicken Parmesan, which was suggested by our waitress, my pasta actually had a nice portion of bacon in it. I also ordered the Signature House Margarita as well, the drinks were really on point. I was expecting to see a few planes land, but nothing came or went out in the 2 hours we were there. The waitress was great, she suggested the nitrogen margaritas!!! .....and what a show it was!!!!! They made the drink right before us and scooped the margaritas out like ice cream, it was quite amazing. I liked it and I will definitely visit this place again.

LIQUID.NITROGEN.MARGARITAS. Seriously..that is all you need to know. Airport hangar? Fun. Food? Great. Service? Wonderful..but the liquid nitrogen margaritas prepared at your table are something to NOT be missed. Do yourself a favor. Trust me (also recommend the watermelon!)

I've been here twice, once for Mother's Day brunch. I love the ambiance and although the menu options are limited, they are all tasty and well put together. I would say the prices are reasonable for a dine in restaurant. The server and hostesses are very nice and knowledgeable. They have a very young staff from what I can tell and watching the planes take off and land while eating is definitely not a bad thing. The complimentary valet is nice as well. I also enjoyed the fact that the temperature where you eat is not as cold as I would have imagined considering you're on the run way. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to have a different dining experience without having to go into the city.

We went to this restaurant on a Friday evening. The ambience and the view is very nice, but the food was definitely lacking. Kayton ordered the ribeye and mashed potatoes and was very disappointed. The steak had lots of chewy gristle all around it and a sweet sticky sauce on top that wasn't very tasteful. The potatoes seemed to not be REAL potatoes, but who cares when the main item of the meal is already ruined. I had the Chicken Parmesan and it was very tasty! It wasn't what I expected. It was simply the breaded chicken with marinara and cheese on it...on a bed of alfredo pasta with bacon in it. The two together weren't desirable but they were both good separate. I had a drink called "That's What She Said" and it was very good! We will try this place again, but mainly for ambience, drinks and the view.

The appeal of the location and the view is worth making the trip. Having the front row seat to watch planes take off and land is a fun experience. I wish the service and the food matched the levels of those qualities. The service was super slow. The staff was friendly but we had to wait over 1 hour after ordering our brunch entrées. After the long seemly unnecessary wait the food arrived and appeared it had been sitting out. The lettuce was browned and lacked the crispness that expected from fresh lettuce. The rest of the entrées were sub par. We may go back to give it another chance, however; it will take us a while to risk another bad experience.

We had a wonderful birthday dinner for my wife and party of five. We had four different entrees and each person loved the food. The hits were the salmon with wasabi glaze and the bacon wrapped balsamic baked chicken. Really good, clean flavors. The mashed potatoes were so so but the macaroni and cheese and sautéed spinach were wonderful. One person ordered a steak and true to its chophouse name, it was well done and the temperature was as requested. We had a charming waitress from nearby KSU who was fantastic and really made the meal even better. She offered strong recommendations and was pleasant and prompt with her service. Overall this was a great time and a great meal.

Excellent meal and capped off by watching three firework shows at once through the windows. Had the Filet Mignon with Parmesan risotto and partner had the salmon with spinach. Both meals were excellent topped off by the handmade ice cream drinks at the table which I really recommend. They did a have a hiccup in the beginning due to a new computer system, but would definitely come back to retry as well. Hoping the place lives up to the good experience tonight and not just because I drool over half the craft here I wish I could own including a Hawker and C22 by business class next door.

Had a date night here recently. As soon as we pulled up I knew this place would be mediocre. We had a reservation but it was not needed on a Friday night. It was empty. The atmosphere in the restaurant felt like a low budget sports bar that ran out of money during the renovation process. The service was good. Watching the planes arrive and depart was cool. The food taste like a lean cusine. I will not be back.

My family went for the Father's Day Brunch. It was a very nice time...Complimentary Valet parking, polite hostesses, our server "CeCe" was on top of her game. We had the 'famous liquid nitrogen martinis..the food was average..but it was a special brunch menu that was served that day. We had an Awesome view as well. We will definitely go back. It was an enjoyable day.

Came here for Valentines Day earlier this year. We were seated right away for our reservation and the liquid nitrogen drink was really neat to watch being made, and had good taste. The selection of food on the menu wasn't as broad as I hoped, although there was a set menu for the occasion.

My husband and I dined here on Friday night. I'd purchased a Groupon for a credit toward our total bill amount. We made reservations on OpenTable and showed up 15 minutes earlier than our reservation time. Upon check in at the hostess stand, they asked if we had a reservation and I said "Yes" - gave the hostess my name and added "We're a few minutes early" - in a jovial tone. I did NOT expect to be seated right away. Before I could say ANYTHING, a gentleman behind the desk added in a snippy tone "Your table will NOT be available at least until your reservation time." I said "Yes, I am aware" and we were directed to the bar. We declined and sat near the hostess stand, patiently waiting our table. 15 minutes past our reservation time and we noticed people arriving AFTER us were being seated, so my husband checked on where we were on the list for a table and we were immediately seated. In short, they'd forgotten about us and if we hadn't spoken up, no telling how long we'd sat there and waited. The bonus is that we ended up with a FANTASTIC table - right by the window. Score 1 for karma! We were starving and our server greeted us immediately. He joked that he'd seen that we'd been waiting a while and I appreciated his promptness and jovial nature. He took our appetizer orders right away and gave us input on the rock shrimp vs. the calamari. He recommended the shrimp as you get more shrimp than the calamari. My only comment about the shrimp is that the menu indicated it would be lightly coated in a sauce and when we received the dish, there appeared to be NO sauce on the shrimp. No sauce at all. We were so hungry that we ate it anyway. It was like fried shrimp without much flavor. When he bused our plate, I asked him about the sauce. He said it was on the shrimp, just very lightly applied. I wasn't buying it. It was just odd. Oh well. I ordered the snapper special and my husband ordered the ribeye. Both of our meals were tasty. We also splurged on dessert - key lime pie and creme brulee', which was tasty as well. We'd go back, but I must say that if I get attitude from the hosts again (it was really one individual who was the issue, we didn't get attitude from anyone else on the hostess team) - I will turn around and leave immediately. That's no way to greet a guest at your establishment.

What a neat experience! Eating and watching planes land and take off. I had the dish of the evening, Grouper. It was off the chain good!!! My husband had a steak and it was seasoned perfectly and very tender. We will definitely be back here. Next time we'll bring my son. I know he'll enjoy the planes. Great service, great food, and great atmosphere.

I purchased a groupon and went here for the first time. My husband, son and we took my dad. We had a reservation at 7pm. When we got there, we were taken directly to a window seat...perfectly on the runway strip. The server seemed take some time getting around to us and she wasn't very interested in checking on us throughout our meal, even though the restaurant was pretty empty. Anyway the food (New York strip steak & baby back ribs) were EXCELLENT! The full rack was alot and was the best we'd ever had. ONE VERY IMPORTANT TIP...try to go before sundown. Because of the lights inside the restaurant reflecting off the glass, it was hard to see the planes coming in. Sometimes we had to put our face right against the glass just to have a good look. Probably good to go when the time changes back.

TERRIBLE. steak was way overcook, twice. Expensive, worst food I've ever eaten. Go to outback, you'll save a couple of bucks and the food quality is so much better.

we went here today for appetizers after taking the Whirl Helicopter tour of Kennesaw. The ride came with your choice of an appetizer or dessert. We had a pretty late breakfast and were quite excited about our helicopter ride, so we decided not to try to push ourselves to have lunch. Our first thought was to have dessert. When the descriptions were so basic on the menu as 'something chocolate', 'cheesecake', 'pie' and the like... we decided to go with what they at least took the time to write some description on. Asked the bartender which apps she preferred and decided to go for the ribs. Well... glad that we weren't hungry, they gave us 4 mini ribs in a bowl that was the equivalent of a mixing bowl being used to have your breakfast cereal. We'll try it another day, but I would never recommend the ribs.

Very disappointing. Service was very slow. We had a large party but it still took over 2 hours to finish and we didn't even get desserts. Food was below average for the price. One person in our party barely ate any of their meal because they didn't like it at all. They were nice enough to comp that meal. Our waiter didn't even clear away our appetizer plates for almost an hour and we had to ask her to take them. Definitely won't be coming here for another special occasion.

Went to Mother's Day Brunch here. Not a good experience with the hosts/hostesses. Not friendly, not even a greeting. A young man at the stand was so intently working on the computer, checking in parties and counting menus/silverware rolls that all cordiality was forgotten. When I gave my name and reservation time, all I got was a quiet, "ok." After a few minutes, I observed him give another host our menus, who went into the dining area and placed them on the table. When asked if our table was ready, we were only told, "we'll be with you in a few minutes." After pressing for info, we were told that yes, that's your table, but the manager doesn't want us to seat you yet. Um...ok, that's a crappy answer. When I kept pressing, a hostess finally explained in lengthy terms that they basically were pacing the kitchen staff. OK, so why didn't you just say so. Communication is key, folks. And is it really necessary to walk the menus to the table without greeting/fetching the guests first? Server Scott was spot-on. Food was pretty good. Cheese grits were VERY good. (Good grits are hard to come by.) Biscuits and "potato cakes" (i.e. large flat tater tots) were obviously pre-packaged but prepared adequately. The others in my party said their eggs benedict were very good. The only other hiccup was we had a restaurant.com voucher. A server (not ours) walking by stopped to say it wasn't valid on special days like Mother's Day. I told her that was not written on the voucher, so she called over the owner. He was very nice and accepted the voucher without any debate. And finally, the kids and grownups alike enjoyed watching the planes take off and land. Bottom line - service needs work, and if food quality is stepped up a notch, this would be a great repeater place for us.

So, thanks to the help of Rita M, I was able to find this place since no one picked up the phone yesterday when I was trying to find it the first time (and unfortunately I ended up at some Chain due to a time crunch for a movie I was going to see). I was immediately greeted by friendly hostesses who explained to me where i could sit; unfortunately none of the window tables were available. So I ended up sitting at a bar table overlooking the kitchen Line where i could see what was going on. I could see, from my seat, 3 separate cooks with no hair restraints, no gloves, and one even wiping his nose with his hand as he prepped a salad, then put it in the window. As I've stated before about open-view kitchens: Great idea, however you need to make sure you do everything by the books. Had I been a health inspector enjoying a random meal, their day would've instantly turned south in an instant. And for those of you who've never been inspected by one before, some can make a Marine Corps Drill Instructor look like Winnie the Pooh with their analness... sometimes even pointing out things that make absolutely no sense. I personally can go through an entire box of gloves myself on a busy day, swapping out gloves from just about anything. But all of that aside, onto the food (the reason most come on Yelp for). I ordered the calamari appetizer that was perfectly coated with a semolina breading and deep-fried to the correct point. It was served with a marinara and a spicy aioli, and for 8$ you get a generous portion (more than most places will give) and will easily support 2-3 people. For me main course I ordered the chicken salad sandwich with a side of their jalapeno coleslaw (I was almost full from the calamari so this appeared to be a nice compromise, but not as defeating as ordering a salad). The coleslaw, thankfully, didn't taste like the overpowering dressing that is commonly used in commercial kitchens, and the jalapeno added a slightly different taste. The toasted bread wasn't under or overly toasted. In addition to all of this, the server was genuinely nice. I made an offhand comment on the number of cooks I saw in the kitchen, and she later came back upstairs to tell me they had 4 cooks in the kitchens... most servers would just make up a number on the spot. I'm giving them 3 stars, but only for the open-kitchen scenario and the fact that it was only lunch time. I will go back sometime during an evening to try and experience Elevation during it's full potential hours.

Awesome food. Everything I've tried here has been great and the service has been super friendly. Can't hate on the view either. It's kinda hidden away if you've never been in the airport, but it's worth finding. And the nitrous oxide drink gimmick is a bit silly to pay that much for, but it's fun to watch other people order it:)

My friends and I wanted to have dinner somewhere and I had nearly forgotten about Elevation Chophouse. When it first opened a few years ago and Richard Blais was Executive Chef we came here often, even doing the 7-course Tasting Menu at the Chef's Table. Then, the food was adventurous and amazing. Last night it was sad to see the Chef's table being used as a storage and prep area. They also used to have valet service and have done away with that -- perhaps just a sign of the times. I made reservations on OpenTable and had to take a 6pm reservation for our party of 6. That was fine, we got there before the sun set and saw the arrival of two military helicopters and a few other private planes -- one of the great things about this restaurant. Our server was just wonderful -- she knew the menu, was very familiar with the wine list, and had a great sense of humor. I give the service and atmosphere 5-stars. Anyway, last night the food was good, but not great, yet also not terrible. Now for my biggest complaint: the food and drink is really pricey compared to what you actually get. For $20, I ordered the Scallops served on root vegetables with a butternut squash puree. While it was tasty, the THREE scallops I got were a little tough. Seriously, THREE scallops?? That just seemed kinda lame to me. I also ordered an $8/glass of Pinot Noir but didn't like it at all so our sweet server replaced it with the $12/glass that was much better, but $12 for a glass also seemed a bit high. The rest of our group liked their food and had a variety of dishes like salmon, meatloaf, baked chicken, and a burger (although the chicken was reported to be a little dry). All the sides were ala carte, including the salads. I've never seen such HUGE asparagus spears -- my husband ordered these as a side. And the flowerpot bread was fantastic -- fluffy and yeasty -- my favorite! Oh yeah, we ordered the rock shrimp appetizer lightly fried in a spicy aioli and these were simply delicious. After dinner, we went to the upstairs bar to visit some more and have a drink while waiting for the band to start. The band was pretty fun playing 70's and 80's music and the bass player walked around engaging the crowd while he played. My experience last night earned 3.5 stars but with a little improvement on the food and the prices, it could easily go back to a 5-star in my book.

Friday nights can be fun since it's 80's and 90's night. Sometimes the DJ forgets and plays more current music. The drinks and food are good but very pricey. Tried the nitrogen margarita.. not sure I could handle a whole one because I would probably get a brain freeze. It is really cool to watch out over the airport and see the planes though

This place was pretty good for lunch. The seating is very open and you have a good view. The food was good and in the $9-$12/meal range, which I don't consider midtown prices. Only problem (if you consider it a problem), is there were quite a few people in here with their little kids watching airplanes and eating lunch. That may be good or bad for some people. If you've never been here before, be prepared to feel lost on your way to the restaurant when you're driving past airplane hangers. Hopefully it won't be windy and you'll be able to follow the signs towards the restaurant.

I am out at the airport all the time. Elevations is a great place for lunch or dinner. Directions: McCollum Field (perhaps two miles off of the Chastain/KSU, exit 75N). The views... the views are incredible, especially at night. The restaurant is right on the runway so you see the multi-colored light there as well as the surrounding neighborhoods. You can see the planes taking off just feet from where you are dining. It is a truly unique experience. My favorites...the blue cheese and potatoe chips, nitrogen margarite (quite the show to see these things smoke and boil at your table). The bar staff is very friendly and ready with a fresh round of drinks. The sandwichs are great for lunch. I enjoy the pulled pork sandwich. I highly recommend this restaurant for a date or since it is open for lunch, a way to really impress a client on a business lunch!

Not sure if this is a review or a rebuttal. Unlike most of the reviewers here, I have had several great experiences at Elevation. Each time I have visited (lunch or dinner), I have had exceptional service and an exceptional meal. I really enjoy stepping into this establishment, so very different from the rest of the venues in this area. For world-weary Midtowners and ITPers, this probably is no big deal, since niche upscale eateries are a dime a dozen in their world, but for me, this is a wonderful respite from the strip malls and chains that dot the landscape of suburbia. Interesting cuisine, comfortable venue and great views of incoming planes . . . liquid nitrogen martinis. That's enough for a 5 star rating from me!

I ate dinner here 9+ years ago but couldn't really remember anything about the place. So, when I saw an offer on a discount site ($15 for $30 worth of food), I said "why not." Plus, I figured my boyfriend would enjoy it - he flew planes in the military. We arrived a little after 5:00 yesterday (Sunday). I had called earlier in the day to see if a reservation was required. We had many things planned and I wouldn't be able to give a time until right before showing up for dinner. They said this would be fine, so I called about 30 minutes before arrival. The hostess said they weren't busy so it was no problem. We were seated right away at a big window next to the air strip. We saw a few planes take off and one being re-fueled but it really isn't a busy airport. The food was good and the server (a long-haired brunette who said she was from Vegas) was very friendly and efficient. Now that I have read some other reviews stating the service and/or food were horrible, I am thankful our experience went as well as it did. The problem we had was the HEAT!!!!! I looked across at my poor boyfriend and he was visibly sweating from the moment we sat down until we got back to the car. I didn't want to get up from the table after we were done eating because I knew the back of my pants were wet. How embarrasing! It was definitely over 80 degrees in the dining area. The waitress apologied and said this was the price to pay for such a nice view. She also stated the heat is generated from the open kitchen. I do not know what their issue is but I know I have never experienced anything like it and will not go back during the summer months. I wouldn't mind sitting and watching the planes in the winter maybe. I did enjoy my boyfriend's company and the explanation of the different planes, etc.

The tagline for this restaurant is Midtown food without the Midtown prices. I definitely agree that the prices aren't what you find in Midtown. But I'm not sure if the service or quality of food is on par with Midtown either. I went there for dinner and the hostess was really friendly and we only had to wait a short while for a table to be ready. I must say, for as drab as the place looks from the outside it was pretty happening inside. Tables are downstairs and the bar is upstairs. They have plenty of seating upstairs and you are free to eat there if you like instead of waiting for a table. We decided to wait for a table and as I stated earlier were seated quickly. Out waitress, although very friendly, didn't really keep the pace of the meal as well as she should have. She kept asking us what we wanted to order. We ordered an appetizer and a salad to split. Those came out so quickly we felt rushed to gobble them down before our main entrees came out. It must have been about another 20 minutes before our main entrees were out. My boyfriend had the tuna steak which was great. But my scallops were not cooked that well. And the risotto that came with the entree, although it sounded appealing (rocket and pecan risotto) wasn't all that great either. I would go back for drinks at the bar but probably not again to dine.

I was expecting something a little more dressy based on the website but it reminded me more of like a microbrew pub on the inside with lots of booths and wide open, exposed metal beam ceilings. Great view of the airport traffic. We were seated promptly by a very friendly server (mind you, it wasn't a very busy night). Our waitress was very sweet but maybe a little green. I had my reservations about the menu, seeing as Atlanta's Darling Chef, Richard Blais, was a menu consultant. We ordered the pork bbq on the corn pancake to start which was tasty. My boyfriend had the bacon cheeseburger. It looked hand-pressed (I've been to way too many places with pre-pattied burgers lately) and tasted very good. I had the chicken salad. It was yummy and had sundried tomatoes in it. The food was about par for what I expected and if you stick to the sandwiches you can have very inexpensive and tasty evening out. All and all, a welcome addition to Kennesaw considering that you're in the land of chains and mediocre independents.

Food was good. The service was terrible. Took 20 minutes to get dinner salads. My filet was ordered medium and came out med-well. She asked if I'd like to send it back. I ate it. It was still tender. Asked for rolls when ordering and had to remind the server 10 minutes after getting our main course. I'd go back but would ask for a different server

We've been several times in the last year or so for dinner, and unfortunately the service and food appears to be getting worse as they mature. We almost always have steaks, and of course I usually have a glass of wine or so, and nothing has been awful but when it was great in the beginning we now feel disappointed when we leave. We quite enjoy eating at airports but it's almost not worth it for us to drive here, no matter how much we like McCollum. Finally, make reservations or risk waiting an overly long time.

What a surprise. You would never know this place was here, and it was quite a decent, open fun setup in the upstairs bar. I went for drinks and fun for a girls night out. My girlfriend in her early 30's goes there often and she says it usually has a fun crowd. There were people of all ages when I went. I had a Martini topped with Nitrous Oxide and it was fun. The staff in the upstairs bar were all friendly and the band was fun. I can't speak about their food since I didn't visit the restaurant. I guess you can say, I had FUN!

Although the scenery and atmosphere of this place is great, the menu is just not very good. I ordered the shrimp and grits and the shrimp were salty but the grits were sweet, sugar had been added. I couldn't even eat it. They also don't have very many choices. This would be a great place to start the night out with drinks. They have a crazy margarita that is like $12 but it is the neatest drink ever. It's hard to put in words. You've probably never had anything like it!

horrible experience food and service.....dirty dirty restaurant. We waited 45 minutes for our breakfast then they brought us French fries instead of hasbrowns because they ran out and didn't tell us. Actual frozen French fries for breakfast. Then at the end of the meal they tried to refuse to take the $3.00 charge off of the bill for the hashbrowns that I didn't get. I do NOT recommend this restaurant.

As far as the bar scene is concerned this isn't a bad jumping off point. They make great Martinis here and they have a nice beer selection both draft and bottle. You aso can't beat the view. Great for aerophiles and kids! Unfortunately the food here is terrible. After looking at other reviews, maybe we are just a little to selective, maybe too critical, or maybe others are just too liberal with their stars but I have never had a decent piece of beef here. We've had food served cold, undercooked and just plain bad. Not to say that the servers aren't great: They are! Bartenders are also top notch. They just have a major problem in the kitchen. The menu is way over the top for a supposed steakhouse. Just keep is simple guys! Steaks and burgers. Forget all that goopey glaze out of a bottle... It's too sweet and I just don;t want that on a piece of beef. Simplify you apps too. Make them basic and good! And find one specialty and stick with it! And get a few decent cuts of beef! Step up to prime cuts! Don't worry, I'll pay! And make a change in the kitchen....a few changes.

My wife and I ate lunch here yesterday. First time here. In our opinion, the food was very good. We had the nachos which has a very different excellent creamy sauce. For our meal, which we split, we had the hot turkey sandwich. Again, another very good sauce. Our waitress was very nice. The only downside is the tile they used on the floor makes it look dirty. Just looks though. Plesent experience getting away from the mall area. Prices we thought were very reasonable. We will be going back in the next couple of weeks to try their dinner.

When I first heard of Elevation Chophouse and Skybar, I thought I misunderstood... "No, really, it's in the airport!" I had to investigate and, well, it turns out they were right. I turned into McCollum Field (perhaps two miles off of the Chastain/KSU, exit 75N) and there it was. Okay- so the building is not that attractive. It is a large warehouse type building that blended in with the rest of the hangers on the property. Yet, as soon as you walk inside, you will find it is not a burger joint. The ceilings are high and there is a very nice bar in the entrance and an open kitchen. The views... the views are incredible, especially at night. The restaurant is right on the runway so you see the multi-colored light there as well as the surrounding neighborhoods. You can see the planes taking off just feet from where you are dining. It is a truly unique experience. We sat for drinks and ordered martinis to which the waitress said with and adorable smile "would you like to add liquid nitrogen?" who could pass that up? Of course we do! It was quite a show when a waiter showed up with a pitcher full of the cold stuff. The drinks boiled and smoked and everyone around oohed and awed. The menu was diverse. I ordered the eggplant mignon which was marinated eggplant on a bed of grains. It was wonderful! I highly recommend this restaurant for a date, girls' night or since it is open for lunch, a way to really impress a client on a business lunch!

Went there this past Sunday for my daughter's 18th birthday celebration (she chose it- her bf and family go often). Finding it and parking are a bit of an adventure because of it's location. We sat upstairs, party of 8 and got great service. Wasn't busy, so I'm going to not worry about other complaints. Decent menu choices. My son and my daughter's bf each had the NY Strip. "One of the top 3 steaks I've ever had" said my son. Daughter had the salmon (i had a few bites) at it was fantastic. I had been craving bbq and immediately went for the brisket. Having spent a lot of time in Texas with work over the years, I know WHAT it is and how GOOD it can be. I was brought out a slab of brown......Meat-like substance covered in a brown, fatty, goo. After scraping off the snotty-goo the barely-there meat would appear to have been pot roast!! thank god for the delicious corn chowder side or i would've gone hungry. I mentioned it to our waitress (who was very attentive and friendly and polite) and she apologized. Ex-wife had the Low Country Shrimp and Grits which over-all was good, but she couldn't fathom why is was slathered in turkey gravy. This was my first time at Elevation, and I'd be hard-pressed to go back. Mixed results within our party

My boyfriend and I went here on one of our early dates and both ordered filets. They came to the table within about 2 minutes which I found odd, and then upon cutting into them found them to be well done when we had ordered them medium and medium rare. I know a medium rare steak when I cut into it but not only that the texture of the meat was that of a done steak and there was absolutely no pink in my steak whatsoever. When we mention this to the waitress she says "I don't mean to be rude but the blue tint on the windows affects the look of the steak". Not the right way to start out that conversation. After a few minutes of back and forth she finally takes the steaks and agrees that new ones will be made for us. Then the manager comes over and gives us the same schpeel about the blue tint on the windows. I get all that but again...I know a medium rare steak when I cut into it and my MR steak had absolutely NO pink to it at all. The manager never came back to check on us after we got our new steaks which was disappointing. So I was not pleased with how that whole situation was handled and definitely won't be back!

My husband ordered the Steak and Eggs Platter. More than half the steak was grizzle/fat! Yuck! The biscuit was hard as a rock. I told the server, but she did not have anything to say and proceeded to bring us our bill. Really disappointing!

Good service and tasty food from the grilled seafood platter to fresh burgers. Try the spinach and artichoke cheese bake. It rocks

TERRIBLE. steak was way overcook, twice.

Mixed results within our party

had a great time at elevation, you sit right along the runway and get an opportunity to watch the planes land and take off. there is a possibility coming from a family with flying in the blood playing a role in loving it so much. food was great, you pay for the atmposphere a little int he price. the wait staff was attentative and courteous

  • Desi D.
