I am new to the area so I tried this restaurant for the first time last night. I had a combination dinner with curry chicken & curry goat. My dinner came with peas-n-rice, plantain and a cabbage salad. I also had a jerk chicken patty and bun/cheese. The staff was friendly and engaging. The food was well portioned, hot, fresh and TASTY ! I ate in and had planned to take some home. The food was so delicious that I ended up eating the whole thing ! I plan to go back (probably today) and would highly recommend this place. Parking is good. Seating is limited, open-style and not intimate; so not ideal for a first date or a large group. The food is awesome !

Still good. Still a little too much crust on the beef patties, but had the jerk chicken patty and goat curry soup again. You just can't beat it for fast food. Some people will complain about the quality, but when you put it into perspective and weigh this places food against like competition of say a McDonald's type chain or even a Popeye's or Bojangles, they don't even compare. Still completely under rated and still the best damn chain ever!

Even though this is my first check in here, I've been to this restaurant multiple times before. Their food is great and the staff at this restaurant is usually the same so you get a chance to know them a little more on a personal level. They have a lot of Caribbean options to choose from, and that goes from main entrées to desserts and also beverages. I love the authenticity of the restaurant and they are always friendly and welcoming when you come in. My favorite item at this restaurant is their stew chicken and yellow rice. After trying other Caribbean restaurants in the area, this one by far stands out to be the best. As far as seating accommodations, it's not a large restaurant but there is room for a few people to sit and enjoy their meal, but I wouldn't recommend large groups without at least calling ahead.

Little more beef, little less patty, please. I'm in the A for a few days and had my heart set on some oxtails and rice and peas from Rick's Carribbean Cafe, but I learned that it's closed down *insert cry of agony here.* I grudgingly drove to this mainstay of Carribbean food. As I walked in, I remembered the love/hate relationship I'd had in years past: -Character: two people who had such heavy accents that I had to ask them to repeat themselves promptly greeted me. The man restocking the sodas was singing a gospel song in falsetto. There was somebody singing something that struck my ear as Negro spirituals way back in the kitchen. Genius. -Mediocre patties: I didn't order a pastry, I ordered a meat pie! MEAT! And the mild beef patty was severely lacking in flavor. Come on!! Do I have to endure heartburn to get flavor? -Tasty entrees and large portions: the oxtails were quite respectable and they served me enough for leftovers a couple times over. The cabbage and plantains need more seasoning, though. I enjoyed my favorite Pineapple Ginger and Ginger Beer sodas, but those aren't homemade... All in all, this did the trick to satisfy my Carribbean cravings....but I sure do miss Rick's...

OMG! Didn't know this was a "Chain" Restaurant! It doesn't matter, cuz this place is GrEaT!!!! They have a MASS Variety of options in there! This may become one of my "Lunch Break Go-To-Spots! I had the "5 Jerk Chicken Wings w/gravy for $3.99, a Jerk Chicken Patty for a buck & sum change, a Big piece of Coconut Cake w/raisins in it and a Jamaican Fruit punch! My tab was like $9 & sum change! Will I be back? Hell yeah! Nice place for a date with a "Down to Earth" woman too!

Honestly I am a huge fan of Golden Krust. I've eaten from this chain in several states. This was the most horrid experience I've had with their cuisine. I order two plates of oxtails from this location for my girlfriend and I. First and foremost it cost me more than at any other location I have eaten from. There is only a dollar difference between the large and small combo's. Both plates came out to over $30. Beside the expense I was hoping that the food would be delicious since it cost more than what I normally pay. I was extremely disappointed. The rice was mushy and over cooked. The oxtail themselves had a completely different taste than any other Golden Krust. It tasted more like beef stew than oxtails. The only satisfying part of the meal were the plantains. For a meal that cost over $30 I can't believe how bad it was. We literally ate the meat and throughout the rest of both plates. I've eaten Golden Krust in NY, NJ, Miami, and Orlando and can't believe how bad this GA location was. On top of all that the customer service experience was not the greatest either. It had no welcoming feel. Overall I wouldn't refer this place to anyone. I definitely wouldn't eat there again. I'm grateful I have had other experiences with the chain or I would have been completely turned off.

Stopped in here at 6:30 on a Sunday and was stopped at the door and was told they had no food left. Will never return. All I wanted was a spicy beef patty.

Very tasty. My hubby and I ordered some food to go. He ordered the jerk chicken and I ordered curried chicken. Both meals were good. I would recommend this restaurant if you have a taste for Jamaican food.

Great to have this little Caribbean outpost amidst the Barrett/Town Center horror. Just went once for lunch so far and had the chicken curry with plantains dish, which was very good and very homey tasting. Cool--a chain restaurant that prepares food that does not taste like it comes off an assembly line. Also had a wonderfully moist, tasty coconut cake for dessert. Surprised about previous complaints about service--I found staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. Place has many options large or small, savory or sweet, and I look forward to trying more in the future.

What kind of "beef patty" was THAT?! Had so much crust on it, I thought it was a POT PIE. I asked for spicy, and this thing didn't even taste it like had black pepper on it. What a joke. I'm lookin' for a hole-in-the-wall Jamaican or Trini house with the GOOD-GOOD.

A friend of mine, who is Jamaican introduced me to this place.. and I was not disappointed, I will def return when I'm craving a little flavor of the islands! I ordered a couple patties, both of mine were STUFFED full of goodies, and the crust was perfectly flaky and light, not sure what the reviewer below me had, musta been on an off day... Cause I thoroughly enjoyed mine! I also had the Curried Goat, very well seasoned, and just enough sauce to perfectly accommodate my rice. My plantains were nicely done as well, I was impressed for the price and will most certainly be returning when I am in this area again! I've paid MUCH higher prices for lower quality Caribbean food! The portions were also wonderful as well, enough for me and my boyfriend to both share, and he eats ALOT!! I always order the same thing when I return, I need to try some new things! LOL Mmmm yum in my tum, now Im raving some!

I looove Caribbean food!! Flying in from Phoenix last week to my beloved ATL and literally Yelping restaurants that have been built since my last visit, I heard sooo much about this spot and was invited here by a friend...and ate there four times in a week!!. The Jerk sauce is RICH..not just spicy (or stomach wrenching like some spots out there) but sweet and tangy..Plantains..mama mia...Cocoa bread..forget about it. The lunch specials are definitely worth it...its cozy, family oriented and authentic..

This is the only Jamaician/Caribbean restaurant in Kennesaw and Marietta, and the food is solid, despite the fact that Golden Krust is a chain. The Jerk Chicken is tasty, but the rice and peas are the highlight here: sweet and slightly hot with a great flavor. And you get a TON of it. The only drawback is that you need to arrive close to opening time for lunch (11:00am) to ensure your meal is perfectly fresh and hot. The line also gets fairly long around noon, but the chill reggae music in the background makes the wait quite enjoyable. This restaurant and adjoining grocery store is the center of the Caribbean community in this area, and it's great to see the culture thriving.

Never really had anything from here I didn't like. Still a little too much crust on the patties, but other than that... I can't complain. Where else am I suppose to get Caribbean and/or Jamaican food in Kennesaw? :-)

The food is always great but sometimes the service sucks.

The beef patties are just "okay". Go to Jamaica Mi Krazy in Marietta. Theirs are definitely more delicious. I haven't tried anything else from there yet.

I was rushed to order by the young lady at the counter and it would have been helpful to know what items were not available for serving. The guy at the cashier was kind, however. Instead of going to Golden Krust, check out another Jamaican restaurant that i found in the same plaza as Wal-Mart on Chastain Meadows in Kennesaw. The service and the food is better.

I was excited to see there's a Golden Krust on this side of town. I'm familiar with Golden Krust from Stone Mountain (as well as NY). For starters, the staff at this location really need to brush on their customer service skills. They weren't mean but they were not very welcoming and didn't seem appreciate our business. The young lady who took my order (with her interesting eye makeup) seemed to be daze. The other 2 individuals also left a lot to be desired as well. Now for the food, we ordered oxtails with peas and rice. We also purchased a beef pattie. Overall, the food was very good. The oxtails had just enough heat to them -not too spicy. The mixed vegetables were okay. The beef pattie was okay as well. I might try them again when I'm in the area. However, due to the lackadaisical reception we received I don't think it's worth a ride out of way to go there. BTW, there ARE a few other Caribbean restaurants in Cobb county.

This place is my guilty pleasure, the only thing I would say is that the soup was not to my liking but the food is sooooo good I want to slap somebody

Ok so I'm not from Jamaica but I know plenty Jamaicans and the food here is definitely not Jamaican quality..... But I will say the beef patty was good..... Best I ever had.

I am a huge FAN of West Indian/Caribbean food...but the Atlanta area lacks good West Indian food...so rarities like Golden Crust is a warm welcome to my tummy. I'm familiar with this place from NYC and the taste is consistent, since it is a chain. Curry goat, beef pattie, coco bread..excelente!

Ever since moving here, we've been looking for a good place to get Caribbean / Jamaican food. On a recent trip to Toys R Us (right next to Golden Krust) we found this place. It had its initial appeal because it was so close to where we live. Not too long thereafter, I came across a lunch special coupon, and we decided to give it a go. We ordered the Stewed Chicken lunch special and two patties: spicy beef and chicken. To start, they messed up the patty order and we ended up with a spicy beef and a mild beef. That's forgivable, so long as the patties taste great...unfortunately, they did not. The patties themselves had too much crust and not enough filling. The flavor was all right, but I've had much, much better (my wife's family owns a Jamaican Beef Patty factory in Toronto, so we do have high standards in this regard). With this bad ratio of crust to filling, it was dry and relatively flavorless overall. On top of that, the spicy beef patty was only slightly spicier than the mild. The stewed chicken was tough and the sauce was overly heavy. It felt like it was made by someone who just doesn't seem to have much experience cooking Jamaican food. Golden Krust is a corporate chain, and the food tastes like you would expect from that sort of place -- kind of 'blah'. My wife, who grew up on this food, was unimpressed to say the least. In the end, all I can say is that I'm happy we had a coupon so we didn't spend too much money. I don't think a return trip will be happening at any point in the future.
