Cook-Out Menu

This is such a neat concept! The food was decent and CHEAP. The decor was that of a lodge and super casual. The cook out tray is such a great value. For $5.99 you get an entree and two sides, where the sides are more like little entrees because they include quesadillas and corn dogs, for example. For $1 more you get a shake from their EXTENSIVE list of flavors instead of a soda. Here you pay roughly the same price as some value meals at popular fast food chains, yet the quality of the food is much better, comparatively. That's especially true with their Cajun chicken sandwich, according to my husband. We're also big fans of how food tastes on an actual grill as opposed to a flat-top grill, so that's a big plus for us. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because the food isn't out of this world, but the environment and value definitely make this place special. This is now on my go-to lunch list for when I meet with my husband. Love it!

Loved the one we used to frequent when we lived in Raleigh, as it was as cheap as any fast food, but a huge step above in quality. This location though is just bad. Incredibly greasy. Tore through my family quickly and made for a miserable evening afterwards.

Decided to finally try this place out. Lots of choices on the menu, including hamburgers, hotdogs, corndogs, and quesadias. And of course the 40 different flavors of milkshakes. My girlfriend and I each went with a hamburger, two sides and a drink for $4.99. The fries and onion rings were nice and crispy. The chili was a little underwhelming. In addition to the combo, I ordered a Mexican Hotdog. It was really good. For the price you can't go wrong with place. But be prepared, this isn't a healthy place to eat at. Next time, I'll try a grilled chicken sandwich and a milkshake. Give the place a try!!

I love this location when I'm in a hurry and what to grab something to eat for a low price. Every time I go to this location I get my order speedy with great customer service. Most of the workers are some of the college students from the local college near it, and they always have a nice & spunky type of attitude which is really refreshing when your having a rough day..... Lol

Stopped in for an early lunch after hearing about this place from a friend. The food is better than your typical burger joint, and they have super choices. Just the basic "tray" was only $4.99 (plus tax) and I got a double burger, chicken wrap, and onion rings, plus a large drink. I was blown away at all the food for only $5. Everything tasted good. Nothing was a stand-out and that is the reason for only 4 STARS. This is a step above the other burger places out there, and if I worked in that area I could visit this place a few times a week because they have many choices, and it will still only cost you $5 for lunch. GO check it out.

The North Carolina chain has recently started expanding into GA, and they finally opened a spot in Kennesaw. I've been meaning to try one of these places for a while, so I'm glad I don't have to wait for my next road trip. So far, I've had the following: A small burger with cheese and grilled onions, which is adequately sized for a basic burger. Grilled onions were done well (though, they were a little heavy on the amount of onion), and the cheese was American. Like I said, the portion was fine for me, but they do make bigger burgers if you're hungrier. BBQ pork sandwich. You can get yours with slaw, but I got mine without, as I'm not generally a slaw fan. sandwich was simple and vinegar-based NC style (generally my personal favorite style). It's not what you're going to get at a home coking barbecue joint, but for the price and the fact that this is chain BBQ, it's tasty. And, it's nice not to have to deal with low-end Kansas City dark ketchup barbecue that most chains put out. Good if you are here and want to break from the norm of a burger or hot dog. Fries and onion rings. Fries were thicker straight-cut fries. They weren't too greasy or mushy, and they were salted the right amount. Onion rings were battered and appeared to be whole onion slices. Another plus is the price. I got a Cook-Out Tray for $4.99 which included the BBQ Sandwich, two sides (fries and onion rings) and a drink. This is cheaper than any fast food combo in the area almost, and it tasted much better. I added the small burger with cheese, and my entire meal was just under seven dollars. The staff was also friendly when we came in. There was someone who asked whether we had been before, and he guided us to a menu, explained how things work, and offered some suggestions. Our order was correct, and it was prepared quickly. The interior is also clean (I know it's a new restaurant, but hopefully this keeps up). I'm hesitant to rate this higher than four stars until I try more menu items, but it may take over Cheeseburger Bobby's as my favorite burger chain in the area if they keep things up.

I'm not one for fast food on a daily or weekly basis, but one of my girlfriends loves this spot to cure her "munchies". So, after a late night gathering of the "kind" .. We all piled in the ride and headed down to "COOK-OUT". Mind blown!!! The drive thru was PACKED @ 2 AM and it was worth the wait. The "Huge" burger w/bacon and cheese, thick cut fries and Orange Push Up shake (took me right back to my childhood) .. Was worth the $8 bucks per person! I try NOT to stop in so often, but I'm determined to try every shake on that list, plus making up some of my own. Thank god for that gym membership! COOK-OUT, late night or lunch. Stop in and drop some change. You won't be disappointed.

Great food, good prices. Good for a lunch or the entire soccer team. Chicken is great, hamburger is as if you prepared it in the backyard.

I love cookout. A lot of food for relatively cheap. Great burgers and shakes. Fries are thicker than most fast food places but still crispy!

This place is nasty. The food is really for college kids standards. Food was extremely dry. I had the chargrilled chicken which was bad tasting, bland the pickes, tomatoes was old! My fries where also dry and tasted reheated, the dry ass chicken wrap with 3 grains of cheese n hardly any lettuce nasty. Don't even get me started on their chicken quesadilla it was a tea spoon of shredded chicken with lil cheese n sauce just mushed into the tortilla i have never seen anything like that in my life. All they could do at this point was to give me money back! Won't catch me in this place ever again###

This place is great. It's kind of like the Varsity, except you get a LOT more food for the price. Would highly recommend it- get the cook out tray! It's $5 for a @#$% ton of food.

They treat their employees like slaves. They never get breaks. It is a completely unorganized company. The food is worth how much you pay. Get ready to be on the toilet for a good while. This place can rot.

Perhaps not the end all be all but not a bad burger at all. Burger was well dressed quality tasting meat. Negative was someone was squeeziing one more slice from the top of a tomato resulting in something less than appealing. The seasoned fries and rings were hot and the strawberry milkshake was delicious. Prices were good and arerall I think this is a good addition to the Town Center - KSU area.

Driving to Chattanooga is really a tough one, so sometimes you need to stop for lunch when you reach the faraway town of Kennesaw. Clearly this is why Cook-Out opened up a location just off 75 here. Typically Cook-Out locations seem to be free standing and not involved in any sort of shopping center. This one is kind of tucked back a little into this huge bunch of businesses just east of 75 and before Busbee Parkway. If you miss the first turn in like I did because I didn't realize it until it was back in here until it was too late, you can turn in from Busbee Parkway. It is basically right next to California Dreaming though a parking lot is between the two. Despite having a decent size interior, good luck finding a nearby parking spot. I ended up giving up and just using the drive thru. It's hard not to order the Cook-Out tray since it's so ridiculous how much food you get for $5.29 (that's including tax). Since I was just going to eat while I drove, I tried to pick things that'd be easy to eat and got chicken tenders with sides of fries and a chicken quesadilla. For a drink I had to go with the reason I ever come to Cook-Out, the great Cheerwine float. I got my food quickly, and service was great. My drivers side window tends to die when there's a lot of moisture in the air and I have to yell out the door and they even heard me just fine without having to repeat anything when I ordered! As for the food, you know, it's what it is for how cheap it is. The chicken tenders though were surprisingly good. They don't come with a sauce or anything by default, though I wouldn't have wanted any given the whole driving thing, but I'm not sure what they have/if they charge or anything. The fries are average, but the quesadilla was surprisingly good. And of course, Cheerwine floats are amazing. I think I found my new stop on the way...it works right because it's about 25% of the way up, right?

Crew seemed nice and like they were having a good time. They forgot my shake though. Didn't include a straw or napkins. They also put mayo on my sandwich when I asked for it without. Took about 10 minutes to get my food in the drive-thru at 3am, which is a bit much. Otherwise, decent experience.

  • Robert B.

Decent burgers and sides, but nothing to write home about. The $5 special is deceptively small, but value priced. One plus is that they have Cheerwine, which is hard to find around the area. If they are busy, expect it to be obnoxiously loud inside. I might come back for a shake or Cheerwine float, but I wouldn't drive across town to come here.

My son was adamant that I " Had to check out cook-Out, the food is SOO good". So I decided to give it a try. The restaurant itself was nice and very clean (nothing worse than a dirty condiments/soda station). I told the young lady at the register that this was my first time at Cook-Out and asked her what she recommended. She was very friendly and helpful, in fact all of the employees I encountered were friendly. Most of them looked to be college age. When my food was ready, one of the employees brought it out to me, and acted like bringing my food to me was the best thing she'd done all day! I was surprised and pleased at how nice and she was. Now on to the food. You get a LOT of food for the money. Was it fine dining? No. But I don't think it's meant to be. I ordered two bacon cheeseburgers, onion rings, fries, quesadilla and cole slaw. You get two sides with your burger and a drink or milkshake. My son was right, everything I had was pretty good. I'll definitely come back again, and next time I'll order the pulled pork. This place should be a hit considering the prices and how close it is to Kennesaw State. I highly recommend Cook-Out!

Decided to see what the hype was about and it's literally down the street from me. So I went through the drive in. There's a menu to look and order at another menu. The menu is huge. I chose the $4.99 combo. Pick your main and 2 sides and a drink. I got the burger with onion rings and fries and water. Now she asked what did I want on it? I told her it was my 1st time. She went down the list of add ons without any attitude. I got mayo and cheese. The only thing I didn't like was that my food did not come in a bag and they had my debit card on top. It felt a little rushed. So onto the food. The food was hot, the fries were seasoned and the burger was yummy. It has that home bbq feel to eat. Not bad for 5.17 with tax. I will go back and venture more into the menu.

I gave this place 3 stars because my hamburger combo with fries and onion rings deserved 4 but my husbands combo with pork sandwich, chili, and hushpuppies was a 2. My hamburger had a great grilled taste and my sides were good. My husbands wasn't bad, it was just weird.

Good burger...how do they get chargrilled taste and smell going...Burger King take notice...for that matter In n Out and Five Guys need to watch their back also. Also must try Cheerwine float...

The first time I walked into the Kennesaw location, I was instantly greeted by a log cabin style interior which was awesome. The customer service was great, the employees moved things along very quickly even for a weekend. I got the combo deal, and it came with more than enough food. You can sub a milkshake and I definitely recommend the cheesecake ones. Everything was perfect and not like the usual fast food/chains at all. I personally have only been there twice but I like this cookout a lot more than the Atlanta one.

I've been hearing so much about this "Cook-Out" from friends and coworkers of mine. From what I've heard, it's basically just another burger joint (seems like they're popping out everywhere). Anyways, the hype of Cook-out from what I heard is located nearby Georgia Tech. While I am unfamiliar with where it is located at, apparently I heard that there was ANOTHER Cook-Out in Marietta, GA. It is conveniently located near Kennesaw State University, so I'm pretty sure all the Kennesaw students have a burger joint to go to. When you enter inside, you're going to see a lot of Kennesaw State Flairs hanging all over the place. Anyways. one of the biggest deal that everyone's been talking about is the "Cook-Out" Tray which consists of three choices for the price of $5 as you go along. The first choice is a burger, which ranges to a 1/4th Hamburger to Spicy Cajun Chicken Sandwich. I'm not going to lie, the burger is a little small. It's like the size of my left hand. It gets a little soggy after you leave it inside it's foil wrapper for awhile so eat it while it's still good-looking! Your second choice is your standard fries, coleslaw, corn dogs, quesadilla, hushpuppies, etc. I can't remember the rest, haha. You get two sides for the second choice so that was something that I like about. Your last choice is, of course, the drink. You can get a large drink, a bottle water, some brand soda I've never heard of, OR you can add $1.00 for a slushie, from what i heard is apparently "good"? I've yet to try it out, so maybe next time I come back to any of the Cook-Out locations. One more thing, if you plan to pay with card. They only accept Visa and Mastercard.. They didn't like that I tried to pay with Discover.

It was pretty good for a burger joint. I thnk it's in line with Cheese burger bobbies and fudruckers. I've had amazing burgers and this was good but not amazing. The fries were above average and the prices were average. All in all it's worth the trip, the money, and I will go back.

Never had a problem before now. Sunday night, they gave my children food poisoning. Within hours they were both sick. For four days, they've cried from the stomach pains, been vomiting like something out of The Exorcist, and have had non-stop diarrhea. I'll spare you the details of cleaning up after them. I hope the Health Department pays them a visit soon. We had to visit the pediatrician for Zofran and to make sure they aren't dehydrated.

Good amount of food for the price. Decent for fast food. Lots of different sides with tray. Fast service.

Food is good. Atmosphere is good. Prices are good. Portions of the onion rings as a side to the combo was 4 rings.

As a college student here in Kennesaw, cheap = good for me. This place is awesome. Their combos are fantastic! And all for $5. A burger/chicken sandwhich/etc as the main, CHICKEN NUGGETS/a quesadilla/fries/corndogs/etc as SIDES, (no joke) and a drink or milkshake (which are wonderful by the way. If you get a fruit one or an oreo one, you get giant chunks of fruit or oreo.) You get what you pay for, so obviously don't expect an amazing 5 star burger and fries when you're only paying $5 or less. It's fast, cheap, and tastes good. Plus, they're open until 5:00AM. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because if you don't specifically ask for regular sliced cheddar cheese on your burger, you get this nasty nacho cheese stuff on it. But other than that, college student approved!

Nice new place to eat. Walk up, place your order from the wall menu, find a table n wait for your # to be called. The $4.99 tray special is a winner burger/dog/bbq sandwich choice w/two sides and a Huge drink.. The sides are a decent size I had 4 onion rings n slaw. Oh for $1.00 more upgrade drink to a shake. Give it a try sure you'll love it.

The staff seem bored and uninterested. Food took forever, my friend was finished eating before I even received my food.

Yum yum and more yum. All I have had is the burger fries and shake so far but I was definitely impressed. Don't let the large shake selection throw you off. These are definitely made to order and not out of a machine.

I've been twice.. good food especially for the price... there onion rings are awesome... my only complaint is twice I have not received napkins. For greasy food you need napkins!!!!!

It was horrible. The line was long. I was optimistic going for the first time but they got every single order wrong. Then I heard the same thing happened to a bunch of my friends at this location. I will never waste time or money there again. Plus the food taste like cafeteria food. Cheap ingredients and it shows. Gross . Total trash . Good shakes though ;) .... Never again

I JUST left this location and ordered a "tray" (their version of a combo) with a burger and a side of double fries. I get home to see that instead of my double fries I have two chicken wraps. I also do not live close-by so there was no option of driving back at this hour. I also tried to call the phone number listed for the business MULTIPLE times and received no response. I'm disappointed that this was my first experience with this place.

    (1)
  • Scott W.

I went there today to experience what some others have said was great inexpensive burgers. I tried one today with an order of onion rings. What is it where they don't know to season food as soon as it comes out of the fryer. The rings had 0 seasoning, the onions weren't bad. The burger itself was ok with good toppings. The problem for me was that the burger was done, bordering well done so I'm not sure where people are getting juicy from. I'm going to give it another shot and I hope i caught them on a bad day. On a side note as others have said the staff was very friendly.

  • Kathleen R.

Portions are small and the food is just average. Pork had no sauce or flavor. Chicken sandwich looked like it came from the dollar menu.

  • Mila K.

I got this place through the drive-thru for lunch break one day to see what the rave was about, and it is A-OK. The burger and fries are defintley greasy, but for the price point, it is better than your local Mcdonald's joint. Try the custard though, it actually beats Steak n' Shake's milkshake for me. For being so close to KSU, this definitely caters to college students on a budget. Place to go to if your looking for a cheap fix.

Good food and price. Cheerwine YUM. Parking is crazy and should have ketchup, mayo and mustard pumps rather than asking for it.

I loved the Cookout on Haynes Bridge Rd in Alpharetta & it was great. I was extremely disappointed in the Chastain Rd. location. I ordered the same thing at both locations. I received 4 chicken nuggets as a side at Haynes Bridge vs only 3 at Chastain. I received barely a quarter of the amount of lettuce, if that, at the Chastain location vs Haynes Bridge on the chicken wrap and the chicken sandwich. The tomato was very over-ripe at Chastain and made the sandwich taste bad. I was super impressed at Haynes Bridge, but very disappointed at the Chastain location.

  • AJ J.

Very small burger for the price... the taste was good, just nothing too special. I also ordered the banana pudding shake which was really good.. but you need a spoon since the straw is useless with it :)

    (3)
  • Briana G.

As a student cookout become quite the place, it was extremely affordable, the food was great, and you get a lot of food for the price you pay. However, a few things went wrong the many times that I went there. They got my burger order messed up probably 5 different times & then i ordered a chocolate shake once and they gave me a banana shake. I never said anything because I would always go through the drive-thru and didn't have time to check & I wouldn't realize it until I got home. Plus the food was so cheap I felt like I couldn't really complain at all. As I'm not big on complaining and/or writing negative reviews. On this last time I went ...& I do mean LAST... I got food poisoning from their burger I'm sure (Out West Style). And this is why I rated this restaurant with 1 star. If it wasn't for the food poisoning I would have given it a 3 out of 5 as the service is great and the employees are friendly.
