After living in Dunwoody for 2 years, I figured I had tried most of what I have wanted to try in the area, food-wise. However, my friend and I were still able to scrounge up this brunch place that neither of us had been to. Parking is mostly straightforward; the entrance was confusing to me, but plenty of parking is available in First Watch's private lot. We got there around 1, but there was plenty of seating. Early brunch rush must have been over by then, seeing as they close at 2:30. Our server didn't rush us as we ordered our coffees and decided on our food. We finally settled on the Eggs Benedict - Florentine for me and the Bacon and Onion Hash for my friend. Both were delicious! Thank goodness both Benedicts were cooked perfectly; if I'm going to pay for a poached egg, it better be done right. The hash was seasoned well, although the ingredients were very similar to what I already had on my plate (potatoes and eggs) although that bacon was thick and smokey. The fruit cup was a nice touch, too! Our server was friendly and didn't come back too often but that was nice since we ended up staying in the restaurant until 3 (closing time is 2:30) and didn't bother us once about it. Yay for great service and refillable coffee!

I'm still a little shocked at how good this place is ... We have had two separate weekend brunches here and both times were very good. The interior is attractive and the food is high quality (which means pricey of course, and the portions tend to be on the small side, but it's not a deal breaker.) We found both of our visits here to be pleasant and that's important, particularly after the ear splitting din of certain brunch establishments (one of which is right across the street --- ahem.) Service is competent and efficient. Their house coffee is excellent and house jam (for english muffins) is top notch. I had been familiar with First Watch from Florida but that was over 10 years and had been hesitant to try it here. Don't be hesitant yourself. Give them a try and be pleasantly surprised.

First Watch is located in the Dunwoody Village near the Walgreens! GPS will lead you to the plaza, which is huge but look for the Walgreens and Starbucks and it's right there. First Watch is a brunch restaurant open until 2pm. A wide selection of food from savory to sweet breakfast items. SERVICE: There was only 1 waitress working every table. She was awesome. She had occasional help from the kitchen when bringing food out to customers. She was very attentive and checked up on us several times on top of keeping up with like 5-6 other tables. FOOD -TriFecta: I ordered this because I was told it's popular. It comes with choice of egg, choice of pancake or waffle, and choice of meat. I chose over medium eggs, blueberry crunch pancake (huge), and turkey bacon. All in all, delicious. The pancakes were crisp and soft. Perfect. -My friend ordered the French Toast Monte Cristo. Pretty much a french toast sandwich with ham, turkey, swiss cheese, and creamy Dijonnaise. My friend said it tasted good, but wish the french toast were crispier. Overall, not a bad experience. The food was good. Service was great. On that note, I had left my glasses exiting and was heading back in to get them when the waitress ran out and handed me my glasses in the freezing weather with her short sleeve on. Kudos!

Yum! I had a great visit here for Sunday brunch with my mom a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised at how well First Watch was able to handle the rush while keeping up their food quality. We arrived around 11:45 pm on a Sunday and there were plenty of people waiting for a table. We were pleasantly greeted at check, invited to help ourselves to complimentary coffee or water while we waited, and had our names put on the list. We were even able to be texted when the table was ready so the hostess wasn't constantly shouting out names or trying to track people down. Our wait was only about 25 minutes which was super reasonable considering the time of day and how many people they were able to seat before us. Once seated, our waiter checked in after about 5 minutes offering us drinks and answering our questions. The menu was pretty extensive with breakfast, brunch, and lunch options to choose from. Some of the standouts to me were whole grain pancakes with your choice of mix-ins, omelettes, tons of sandwich choices, scrambles, and other fun items. Plenty of fresh, healthy fruit and lighter fare as well as vegetarian options. I chose to get outside my usual box of pancakes and bacon and try something different. I went with the biscuits and gravy with a side of potatoes and a scrambled egg. They were incredibly tasty and super filling. Definitely the stick to your ribs kind of meal needed on a cold morning/afternoon. My mom went for an omelette with an English muffin on the side. She said the eggs were nice and fluffy and the portion size was reasonable. The English muffin could have been toasted a little more to adequately melt the butter/warm the jam she topped it with, but it was OK. First Watch is a neat little restaurant that shares the building with Marlow's Tavern. The breakfast selections we had were yummy and I'd be interested in seeing how their lunch offerings compare.

I decided to come back to give a second review. Of course the customer service team here enticed me a little with a gift card to cover me and my daughters breakfast. Thumbs up on the follow up!! My daughter (12 yrs of age) ordered the traditional breakfast again and killed it. My little food critic here says the bacon was nice and crispy and the potatoes were seasoned just right. I ordered the market hash. Unlike the last visit, the veggies were fresh and the eggs poached perfectly. Fruits on the side were nice and cold and fresh as well. Our server, I think her name is Dominique, was great. We were the first 3-4 tables before the crowd came in so we had her full attention. As the tables filled up she seemed to be able to manage it all and still keep people satisfied and laughing. I only see her at the moment with 10 tables...not sure if that's normal for one server but she is handling it with a smile. Overall, I'm glad we came back. We do breakfast once a week at least before school. Our time is limited in the morning and fast service And a good hearty meal before the day begins is always a great thing!!

I tried this breakfast chain in Florida the first time and I think it is a great addition to Georgia to the other great breakfasts chains. Their food is consistently good and they pay attention to customer service.

I was excited about the menu and starving but I have to say I was underwhelmed. I had the steak and eggs florentine special which I found quite bland. I have never added salt to a steak before, but I did this time. I might try them again, as my husband was happy with his Acapulco Express.

Excellent service! Food is hearty and filling, I had the Bacon Hash w/english muffin. Love their menu, bealthy choices! Only open 7am-2pm. Clean and a happy ambiance, cant wait to go back and try the salad, I love that they leave a jug of water at the table to refresh your glass.

This is my second time here and their food is pretty good, I definitely loved the chickichanga!!! It's a Mexican type of breakfast with salsa avocados and chicken. Their hashes are really good too. Service is good. The only reason I say their food is pretty good and not excellent is because I haven't tried everything and I really think it depends on what you get. Will definitely be back though!

I've been wanting to try First Watch for a while now, and finally was able to a few weeks ago. I work on the weekends, with no opportunity to go out for lunch, so trying to strategize on finding a place to grab both breakfast AND lunch while trying to make it into the office on time on Saturdays can be a bit trying. On this particular Sat. I managed to have an extra 25 min. (how that happened is beyond me!) so I pulled into First Watch. It's in the same building as Marlow's Tavern. I really liked that they had a spacious patio area. The interior is quite nice as well, with huge open windows and an open area. The hostess was very nice and knowledgeable. I asked for the Breakfast Scramble since it has so much (scrambled eggs with ham, spinach and cheese; and comes with seasoned potatoes, toast). The portions are very generous as well as healthy and this held me through the day. The next time I find myself with some extra time before work, I will make it a mission to come back!

Average. Not bad, just average. Some of the menu items sounded great. But were somewhat of a disappointment on taste. Potato tasted like frozen breakfast potatoes. We're not too crowded. So if you want breakfast somewhere on the weekend and don't want to wait on long lines. Not a bad option. Just wasn't anything super special. Service was fairly good.

Yelp reviews were spot on when we were recently deciding where to have breakfast in Dunwoody. Our first time there and thought it was delicious. The Hashes looked good but the waiter suggested the Benny's biscuit item with the turkey sausage and gravy. Very tasty. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. I'll come back.

Take advantage of the "free" coffee that's offered while you wait to be seated. You'll need it for the wait! I had the veggie hash with a side of bacon....delicious! The hash also came with a toasted English muffin and a fruit cup. Broccoli and cheddar soup, "not so good". Rather than cheddar it tastes like some type of tasteless canned cheese with sprinkles of green. Didn't find not one thing that resembled broccoli! Thank goodness for that bonus English muffin and cup of fruit, because it is what fed my guest, because the soup was not consumable. But great location and cozy atmosphere.

First Watch, based in Bradenton FL, operates a large chain of breakfast/brunch places. A new one has just opened in Dunwoody Village on the opposite side from Marlow's Tavern. The chain has a reputation for good service and decent food (voted best breakfast place by Consumer Reports). This location appears well-run and well-staffed. We were greeted as soon as we came in and told there'd be a couple minute wait. There is plenty of seating for people waiting for tables. There is complimentary coffee and newspapers. They have free WIFI but it wasn't functioning when we visited. We were seated promptly for lunch. The place is very clean and the service is attentive. The menu includes standard breakfast fare and a number of healthy alternatives. The company website has in-depth nutritional info on all the standard men items. There are 3 sections to the restaurant inside and patio seating (tables with umbrellas) and a fireplace outside. The tables and seating is quite comfortable. The food is solid if unspectacular. It seemed a bit pricey to me ($2.39 for a fairly pedestrian cup of coffee?) and you could easily spend close to $25 for a standard breakfast (with coffee) for 2 people. They do offer specials and they are good quality but include no nutritional info. My opinion is that the calorie count is going to be on the high side for these items. First Watch reputation is that they do not microwave or heat lamp anything. This puts them a notch above most other chain restaurants but they are going for the middle-of-the-road culinary brunch. Don't go with expectations of a knock-it-out-of-the-park breakfast or brunch. There is plenty of parking and they seemed to be having a decent crowd for their first weekend in Dunwoody.

Definitely great, fresh food. Although, for as fresh as the food gets.. it takes awhile to come out. Coffee comes in a large container similarly like how IHOP does it, so enjoy it, it's a brunch/breakfast place! I've been to this location twice and I thought it was great.

I have been to the Orlando location a few times so I was excited to see one open so close to me. The food is fantastic, the service is great, and the place is very clean and the layout looks great. I had the blueberry pancake and you really can't go wrong with this choice. I wish I could eat there every morning!

Tried First Watch for a weekend lunch. This was my first time at any First Watch. They did a nice renovation of the existing building. Very pleasant space that manages to feel both modern and homey at the same time. There's a patio for outdoor dining. Plenty of easy parking. We arrived about an hour before close so had no wait. Note they are only open until 2:30pm daily. Any of the breakfast and lunch items are available anytime they're open. They have a list of daily specials in addition to the standard menu. Menu mix has both healthy and indulgent offerings so there's something for everyone. Ordering coffee gets you a handy pot on the table for refills. I had a veggie burger. A little spicy, on a slightly dry whole wheat bun with avocado and other burger toppings, it seemed made from scratch rather than a pre-formed frozen kind. Nothing I would go home and crave, but perfectly fine and tasty. It was served with field greens that needed not just more dressing, but also dressing with more taste. Kudos to First Watch for having several vegetarian and vegan entree items, so I wasn't left assembling some weird combo like oatmeal, toast and grits. This feature alone puts them on my re-visit list. They even had a vegetarian soup of the day, butternut squash. All the pancakes are whole grain as a base, and you can fancy them up various ways, adding blueberry, wheat germ, chocolate chip, etc. The basic version was pronounced "good" by fellow diner, and accompanying bacon and eggs were standard versions you can't go too wrong with. The Reuben sandwich ordered by my other tablemate was somewhat smaller than you might find at a deli, but had decent quality meat and tasted fine. It also came with those lackluster greens. We had a couple of servers, and loved both of them. They had the personalities of classic diner wait staff, and I mean that in the best possible way...smart, funny, quick, and knowledgeable about the menu. Prices seemed like a reasonable value. You pay at the counter. In summary, the food veers a little bit into chain quality territory, keeping it 3 stars for me for now. But the overall experience makes it an attractive option, and I'll be back to try more of the menu.

My wife is a chef and I've worked every position in the restaurant industry from the back to the front of the house. We have 30+ years of experience between us. My wife and I LOVE this place. The food is great. They have tons of healthy and unhealthy options. I'm a huge fan of fresh squeezed orange juice and they have that. The food always tastes fresh. I do have a few gripes though. These complaints don't stop us from going there but have led me to spend less money then I normally would. First, is their hours of operation. Every listing of this place including their website says they're open til 2:30pm. That is not true, they close at 2pm. In this business 2:30pm on a weekend is far to early. I was told that they aren't allowed to stay open later because of the facilities contract, which sounded like bs. Not to mention that EVERY OTHER RESTAURANT in the shopping center stays open long past 2pm. I mean every restaurant.

Interesting options like the Chickichanga. Okay service and coffee. Place is clean and spacey. Went in during a cold weekend so we were unable to sit in the patio which would have been nice. Definitely recommend it.

I loved my lunch! I got the grilled turkey sandwich with bacon and ranch and swiss cheese. The soup on the side was great! I like how close it is to my job. I will definitely begin to frequent this spot.

This has become our favorite breakfast spot in the Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area. The staff is always very friendly, and the service has been great the majority of the time. The atmosphere is lovely, and the decor is very appealing. The food has always been delicious. At times, the fruit doesn't seem to be very fresh however. I am eager to try the lunch items; they certainly look appetizing from the menu. First Watch offers all natural chicken and have items appropriate for gluten sensitivities, something I appreciate. The prices are higher than other breakfast spots; my husband and I usually pay $25 or so (before tip) for breakfast. The meat sides are pricey at $3.50 (ex: 4 strips of bacon). We enjoy coming here every so often for a breakfast date and will continue to return.

We went here for breakfast and I was excited to see that their menu was very healthy. I got the energy bowl, which had muesli, oats, almonds, craisins, bananas and strawberries. It was amazing. I can sat thus is the best breakfast I have had. It was good and kept me full

We had a wonderful breakfast here!! We were seated immediately and our server was incredibly friendly! We both ordered the bacon, tomato and avocado hash and it was delicious! Our food came out so quickly that we were shocked. We asked for coffee to go and our server made us fresh cups. We loved that the tables are spread out enough so that you don't feel like you're right on top of the table next to you like a lot of popular restaurants lately. Will definitely be back!!

While I'm glad that finally more breakfast places have opened in Dunwoody - this is one the community could do without. The service was fine for us, but the two egg ( Tri Athelete, and a avocado omelet) meals we had were lacking in both flavor and temperature. It seems Egg Harbour cafe on Roswell Rd has set the bar very high these days in my opinion.

First time, last time. The server arrived and never introduced himself or gave us the notion that he would be waiting on us. We had ask him if he was our server. We ordered two meals of 'half sandwich with salad' and a kids scrambled eggs with bacon. Our bill came to over $27! The egg looked like it was cracked on to the griddle and then stirred up with a spatula. Since we were feeding it to our 16-month-old, over half the egg was wasted because it was uncooked. The salad on the two plates looked like it was three days past it's prime: wilted and rotten. There was nothing on the salad like croutons, tomatoes, cucumbers or anything else, just mixed greens with dressing. While the sandwiches were very tasty, the greens on the sandwiches were also wilted and rotten. Because the server never came back to check on how our food tasted, I complained to the person at the front counter (manager?) upon paying my bill. She apologized and took off the $4.50 kids meals and kept the receipt. So we paid over $21 for one whole sandwich, some mixed greens that we didn't eat, and half a scrambled egg. Worst dining experience I've had in years. Completely underwhelming response to complaints. I plan on contacting the GM or owner of this establishment to share about my experience (or have them contact me?). To top it off a cup of decaf coffee is $2.50, which is more than Starbucks!

New to the area and breakfast/Brunch lovers, we dropped in for Brunch with no real expectations. We were immediately greeted by warm and friendly staff. I certainly did not mind the short table wait with fresh complimentary coffee. The restaurant has a bright, vibrant and very welcoming vibe. Service was excellent and efficient. The menu boasts tasty, healthy options and chocolate chip pancakes got a thumbs up from the kids. The prices are reasonable and a good value for the food, service and dining experience.

When I read a yelp review, I typically read the negatives first, so I will deal with that first. None. The restaurant is open and the tables are not on top of each other. Coffee come in a decanter so I don't have to ask for a refill as does the water. My omelet came with a real homemade salsa, as advertised. Service was prompt and friendly. All in all, it was exactly what this kind of restaurant should be. My tab for brunch was reasonable for this meal. Not cheap, but entirely reasonable.

I love First Watch. Reminds me of a country kitchen. I frequented the location in South FL and have found this one to be nice as well. The food is delicious for a quick breakfast (step above fast food) and very affordable. The service at this particular location is acceptable, however they are a bit slow and your food may come out cold. Happened to me the first two visits. Give them a try if you're in Dunwoody and would like a nice affordable brunch.

Sunday mornings should always be this delicious! I dont know what the rest of the reviewers were eating or where they went to eat it, but this place was superb! The staff was friendly and expeditious. I may be biased due to organics, but the food was, as "we" say, ON POINT!! They definitely went out of there way to inform the customer that the ingredients they use are all organic, which is great. I ordered the "Bacado" omelet. Orgasmic! Sure, the portions aren't gargantuan like most breakfast spots (ie Ihop), but they were just right and healthy. Priced competitively with the franchised competition, if you're one to look for a healthier alternative and not wanting to cook for yourself, this is the place to go to! Hands DOWN!

The selection here looks fantastic-- but not a recommend if you're looking for a wide gluten-free selection. Stick with Egg Harbor Cafe. At least they have pancakes/cinnamon rolls/other breakfast items that make the experience worthwhile.

Atlantans LOVE breakfast/brunch places, so the people who helped guide and launch Egg Harbor, have finally made it to the area! Tucked behind the Starbucks, directly in front of Marlow's Tavern, First Watch is a pretty, clean, friendly restaurant, with a really nice menu, and great service, focused on getting people served and out, in less than 30 minutes, without feeling rushed. The Floridian french toast is AMAZING, with FRESH bananas, strawberries, and kiwi, and a berry compote on the side, lightly-topped with powdered sugar. My fiance had a mouth-gasm! The kid's chocolate chip pancake with bacon was a no-brainer for my 9 year-old son. He almost licked the plate clean, and was thrilled with the whopper portion! My favorite is the veggie grill sandwich; truly delicious for ANY vegetarian, served with a lightly-dressed, simple salad of field greens. Also, their take on an italian omelette, the Via Veneto, is to die for! Not too much cheese, just enough crumbled sausage, and yummy red peppers amd herbs. How can I say no??? The coffee, a proprietary-blend, is terrific, not too-strong, just perfect, in your own pot, on the table. Excellent if you're a major caffeine junkie, which I am. Being new to the Dunwoody area, they are working out the finite glitches that come with every new business, but with consideration for the guest. This is going to be one of the more popular places, and I hope it does well! Welcome to Dunwoody, First Watch...thrilled to have you here!

Happy decor and atmosphere. I love this place. I love the food. I love the customer service. I discovered it after attending the Dunwoody 4th of July Parade last year. I have introduced several friends to First Watch and they too fell in love with it. I never had a bad experience. Last Fall they screwed up my take out order one time and you would have thought they burned me with hot coffee or something. My server and the manager went to such great lengths to apologize that I felt bad for telling them my order was wrong. LOL. I was so impressed with their care and attention. They really made me feel important. Moreover, I'm somewhat of a healthnut so eating out is an indulgence. First Watch is a more favorable healthier option for people like me who prefer to cook their own food. Give them a try. I recommend them highly. PS: Get there before 2:30pm. They are only open for breakfast and lunch.

The restaurant itself has always been a favorite. We lived in south Florida and our local Boca raton location was amazing. Fantastic service. A speedy and efficient front counter/seating and exception service and food. We were thrilled to find the location in Vinings here in GA and while it wasn't exactly our Boca spot - it was still a positive experience. Then we tried the Dunwoody location. Nothing about this particular location resembles what we are used to. The staff is minimal and unorganized. The "waiting list" and process is so flawed and people sat for close to an hour come to realize their name somehow got thrown away on other pieces of paper..ridiculous. Then - once you get seated - good luck getting waited on. Wait staff was hard to find and the entire process is simply absurd. The people working here need some serious training and management needs to increase staff size. So many angry and frustrated customers and sadly - mediocre food. The kitchen is probably overwhelmed as I am guessing they are under staffed there too! Stay away. Marlows does an amazing brunch so just head next door or even a few mikes away to another broken egg - they run a right ship and the food is fab!!!

Heard great things about the place and decided to give it a try. We were seated promptly considering it was a busy Sunday morning. Ordered the Killer Cajun Omelet which was ok. Nothing Killer about it. The food took way too long are ordering...almost 40 minutes for breakfast! The restaurant hasn't been open for long so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and may try it again in the future.

Been waiting for the new place opening crowds to die down before going. I'd been to the one in New Albany, OH and missed it since moving here 3 years ago. Not disappointed. Service was attentive and prompt. Food tasted good, because I'd been craving a Belgian waffle. Got the tri-fecta. Will go again. Got in before Sunday morning crowd.

Not a great experience. Server recommended Eggs Benedict with turkey and avocado and it was less than desirable. Avocado was brown, eggs were over poached and the hollandaise was cold. Potatoes on the side were raw. Coffee was nice but had to ask 3 people for water. Never going back.

I've been to First Watch in Dunwoody now about 5 or 6 times. My 1st visit was ok, nothing great except that it was in my general neighborhood. I'd rate my other visits, until for today, as 4 stars and well worth the time. However, today was, without question, very disappointing. The waitress was not engaged, failing to followup to make sure everything was served correctly. The English muffins were finally delivered about the time we were finishing our breakfast. I wanted cheese grits (cheddar cheese) but grits with, I think, mozzarella cheese, was served in place of cheddar. When I brought this to the attention of my waitress, she told me that's what they've always had (though the reason I went there was to get cheddar cheese grits as I had done 4 times before). The waitress was polite but disengaged and basically an airhead. I have to say, I wished I had gone to Mimi's or Broken Egg which were also on the short list this morning. Next time, I will. First Watch may be better referred to as 4th Watch because it has now moved very far down my list of places to spend my money for breakfast.

First Watch is the latest contender in the brunch game that is slowly taking over Dunwoody. I am a huge fan of their protein quinoa bowls. There is a new bowl on the weekly specials menu but I always stick with the original, pesto chicken. The bowl has grilled chicken slices, quinoa, sun dried tomatoes, pesto and spinach. The portion they serve can feed 2 people but I never finish it because I always order a pancake. The pancakes at First Watch are the size of the plate and I am not exaggerating! I can never finish one let alone a stack of them. The flavor menu was a surprise to me. Forget your typical buttermilk you can have any fruit baked in to your pancake with granola and cashews too! I stick with blueberry granola and it makes for an excellent left over for dinner too. This location is always busy but even with a full restaurant the staff is very attentive and personal. I never feel rushed and always leave full.

The food here is still really good (I love the Chickichanga in particular) but the service seems to be dwindling. The last three times I've dined here, it's been so-so. I know it can't be perfect every visit, but ... really? Our waiter today, Chris, was almost condescending and impatient with us. I took a friend for the first time and he seemed irritated with her for not knowing what she wanted to drink. She wanted to look at one of their fresh squeezed juices but ended up ordering a Coke as he hovered over her, impatiently. We had barely had a chance to look at our menus because we had literally just sat down. I told him it was her first time; he either didn't hear me or didn't feel like acknowledging my comment. It just went downhill from there. He never ever refilled her drinks once and his tone was not friendly or welcoming as I had grown used to when visiting this restaurant. When he asked for my coffee cup so he could pour coffee, he was very gruff about it and I had to ask him to repeat himself. Not a single smile, nothing. When he put our bill on the table, he didn't say a word. No Thank You, nothing. Just walked on by and dropped it as he went along. It's just RUDE. The cashier ringing me up was friendly and he asked how everything was as they usually do. I told him the food was great but the serviced left a lot to be desired. He tried to explain it was a busy Sunday. Ummm, no. That's not good enough. I am paying for my food and my experience, and I get that Sundays are busy, but that's no reason to justify crappy service. I deserve a drink refill or to be acknowledged when dropping off a bill or some patience as I decide on what I want to drink and eat. He said he would "take care of it" but I didn't trust that, so I decided to leave a review instead. It makes me think twice about going here again, which is unfortunate. The last two times I let it go but I was embarrassed today after recommending it to my friend. The food is delicious but they need to school their waiters on being polite, patient and attentive, no matter how busy it gets.

I'd go with 3.5 for First Watch... There were two standout things: 1. The avocado toast...omg. JUST ORDER IT. It was phenomenal. 2. Their fresh juices. I tried two different kinds and they were both fantastic. I ordered a breakfast wrap with fruit on the side. The wrap was pretty bland and I didn't eat much of it. I also didn't love the salsa/pico that came with it. Wasn't impressed with my entree at all. Service was decent, she forgot my juice order but remembered before I had to ask for it. Not bad, but not stand out minus that toast!!!

Absolutely phenomenal!! Superior customer service, healthy tasty options. Clean. Team environment. Awesome menu and healthy drinks. Definitely worth the mini wait! Oh and free coffee while waiting!! Ordered the pumpkin spice pancake. It was huge!! And the chicken apple sausage was delicious. Not to mention they bring WARM SYRUP to the table for your pancakes. Made it that much tastier and delightful
