Yuck! What happened to this place? We have been coming to Mariachi and "loving" it for at least 10 years. Once they moved to the new place, they changed and not for the better. I'll say that the food is consistantly good but the service sucks so so bad! I have waited to write this until I was sure and last night was the 3rd visit in a row that was awful so 3 strikes and out! The last 2 times, our waiter and waitress was horrible. Took forever to come, never came back once food came (asked someone else for what we needed), no drink refills (margaritas too) and had to ask for our bill. Last night we didn't even stay for food. We came in, had the stroller for the baby (3 months) and right off were told in an unbelievable snotty way that the were going to have to "find" us a spot even though they have many tables with chairs so a stroller can replace a chair easily. Then the long wait at the front begain. We watched more and more people show up as well as the manager speaking in spanish to the hostesses about somenting. Another 10 min go by and I overheard a hostess tell another guest that the kitchen is backed up so they will not be seating anyone. WHAT? Now we are standing in a large crowd at the door with no explaination. We knew that the prior service that we have recieved and the kitchen being backed up is probably not a good reason to stay so we left. Funny, when we were leaving the hostesses just told us goodbye. Tip to management: Hire staff that cares and knows how to do their job. And, when you are having an issue, giving your waiting guests a place to sit in the lounge and even a soda goes a long way. Adios El Mariachi Weston. You have lost a loyal customer of over 10 years.

The way this place treats customers is APPALLING. My friend and I came to eat here on a Sunday night, and the place was completely dead. There was literally only one other table of people besides us, and they were finished with their meal. The hostess was friendly enough and brought us to our table, gave us menus, and then -- nothing. I sat there looking at the decor, (we were sitting right next to a beautiful fish tank), read the entire menu about three or four times, and then noticed that we had been sitting there for about fifteen to twenty minutes without anyone coming to take our drink order or even so much as greet us. Being a server myself, I have patience for these kinds of things when a restaurant is busy, but this place was beyond dead. To make matters worse, our booth was situated right in front of the OPEN kitchen where we could see the entire staff, plus what seemed to look like a manager, talking and laughing with one another when they could obviously see us sitting at the table waiting for service. Finally, after another five minutes, a server walks up to our table and can see the annoyed look on my face. The first thing out of his mouth is "Looking for me?" I was so disgusted that he said such an unprofessional thing that I was at a loss for words. He asked us how we were doing, sarcastically might I add, which I answered as nicely as I could given I was slowly losing my patience. My friend didn't say one word to him when he asked, so he then rudely turned to her and asked her again, as if she was blowing him off. RUDE! He then asked us for our drink order, pushily suggested we get margaritas, and asked us if we wanted any appetizers. I said no, of course, because the last thing on my mind at this point was food and the only thing on my mind was not freaking out on this server. He then said, "Oh, no appetizers?" in a condescending manner and shook his head. When he left to go get our drinks, my friend and I (once again, we are BOTH SERVERS) looked at each other completely stunned. Obviously, we decided to get up and leave to a restaurant where we would actually be treated as human beings. Funniest part is, they didn't even notice us leave and we clearly got up and walked out right in front of their faces. I have never been treated with such disrespect at a restaurant. I would NEVER, EVER eat here and I would never suggest anyone else even attempt to give this place a change.

Good Mexican food and drink in Weston. It's sure better then Chili's but it comes at a price, not totally ridiculous, but it's best to go during happy hour and enjoy the specials. Quick friendly service, with authentic flavors in genuine dishes.

Worst Mexican food ever.. You'll get a better meal At Chipotle! Guacamole was horrible and the chips were stale and flavorless. I ordered some fish since I was on sort of a diet, it was horrible. Left all of it. The fajitas and enchiladas were pretty bad too. I'm never going there again. The bar area looked nice, but don't think I'll be trying it out.

Not happy with service at all . Waiter did not come once to the table after serving food to check on us or refill drinks . Disappointed as they had hardly any vegetarian options and the vege fajita was tasteless .

I can't say I've tried everything on the menu here, but I stick with my two favorites and it's always awesome. I love their chicken quesadilla (hands down better than any I've gotten anywhere else). Also, their nachos are delicious! I've been going here for years (since it was at it's old location) and cannot wait to go home and have my beloved quesadilla again. I only wish they'd expand and come to Tallahassee!

My husband and I had dinner there on Tuesday. I had a Quesadia that was very bland and wasn't served with the traditional guacamole, sour cream and salsa. there was only lettuce on the plate. My husband had Enchiladas which were also very bland. Even the salsa and chips ere greasy and flat tasting. No zip to the salsa. We wont return.

Was just here for lunch with a large party and what takes other restaurants for larger parties at most an hour took two hours with this restaurant. Missed orders, few drink refills and visits from servers. It took almost half an hour to process all of our checks which they did in one batch which took forever. Not to mention we heard no apologies or updates from the manager, who we witnessed hiding from our party and avoiding eye contact. Someone from our party damn near had to walk into the kitchen to get their attention. I've witnessed poor service here but this was the worst.

Delicious!! The chips and salsa were fresh and had a unique taste. The kids loved their steak and quesadillas. Empanadas and enchiladas were the best!!

The old management was amazing. These new people were terrible. I could definitely live my life okay with never going back there, which is sad because it was my favorite place to eat for years! :( That is how terrible my experience there tonight was. So disappointing! Service was extremely dragged out. We had to ask them to seat us. Ask them to come take our orders. Ask for refills on drinks. Everything. It ended up taking a table of 4 two hours to get in and out-- which is ridiculous!

This place use to be good. My family and I went here for years. That is until it was turned in to a Gourmet place. Now it's just tasteless over priced food. It was so much better before. We ate there once and haven't been back.

Service = excellent Margaritas= awesome Ambience = great Food = not good. I'd rather have Chipotle any day. . We ordered paella which they have no (zero) business having on their menu. It was awful. And we waited a long time for it! I ate my nieces chicken fajita, instead. Even that wasn't up to par from the old owners cuisine. The place changed hands in June 2013. IF YOU EAT HERE ANYWAY IN SPITE OF THE FOOD. STICK TO BASICS AND YOU WILL BE OKAY: steak, beans, rice, plantains.

El Mariachi used to be wonderful. Since it changed to Mariachi Gourmet, it is not as good. There aren't as many items on the menu and the dishes are smaller and more expensive. I got enchiladas mole that was served only with lettuce - no other sides. However, the Sangria was delicious and the service was very good.

Pretty good. I had the steak fajitas, split nachos w/ chicken and chips w/ salsa. The highlights were the fajitas and the nachos. The chips and salsa were just okay. Service was good ,they had live band and dj too. I would go back here to get those nachos again for sure.

The food here was ok and the service was very slow. But great atmosphere to hang out on a friday night we loved the live music

Not cheap, but not too pricey either. The food here is actually pretty good. However the service really needs some work. I don't think it is as bad as 1 star, but it definitely needs some work.

I was just there at this fine I used to know as El Mariachi. To my surprise I meet a fine friend of mine there for lunch, pon walking toward the restaurant we realized the restaurant name was changed. So we asked our waitress who from the beginning was not the most cheerful person if the restaurant had change hands and she indeed confirm it.So my friend and I were willing to give it a try. Bad idea! We had a hair in the chips we were snacking on.Yik! second when I ordered a fajita with chicken, when they brought me the plate with all the fixing at first I didn't notice until I remove the small plate from the top and again a hair. Oh no! so waitress ask if everything was alright and would we like to bring our left over. No thank you and she just dropped the check. I don't think so missy I am not paying for a hairy experience at this restaurant . So I ask if I could speak to the manager and I was told he wasn't there. So I said You must fix this check because I am not willing to pay for it in full.. Would I return to this place ? defenetly not......

Let me start by saying I used to really like this restaurant until they changed ownership in June and renamed it Mariachi Gourmet (formerly Mariachi). This "newer" version had empty tables, new menu items (overpriced), subpar service and ok food. We recently stopped in and had the pineapple and pork tacos (tacos al pastor)...which were average. My husband enjoyed the steak tacos but I wasnt a huge fan. My take? Its ok, but there are better Mexican restaurants around for better value. Takeaways: Bring back the old menu, revamp the kitchen staff, and perhaps you'll get hit maximum capacity like you used to...and please bring back the old salsa, it was a signature item.

Celebrating my wife 26 birthday,,, everything that we ordered was outstanding. The chef/owner sat down with us for a few minutes, he is an extremely nice person. The waiter Mario was outstanding. He needs to be promoted to manager.

This restaurant is no longer open. And even if it was, I wouldn't ever step foot their again. Looking forward to see what opens in their space.

Nice place, decor, and staff. Good overall service. Attended dinner with my 'extended' Florida family last week on November 4th...and like the two stars indicate above...meh. Nothing to really write home about. Very average, plain, dull, boring Mexican food. I had the Chile Rellenos (2) dinner (double beans/no rice), and the Poblano peppers were nicely sized, but tough, chewy, and bitter...and from what I remember, not stuffed very well with Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses. The re-fried beans were bush league (the kind that spread all over your plate...and are about 1/8" thick...and not very tasty.) The house Margarita was good, fruity, and done nicely. But really, I was expecting bigger things from this place. La Bamba up on 5452 W. Sample Road, Margate, was much better (...and a lot more crowded.)

Service was A+, guacamole table side was fresh and delicious. My friends crunchy tacos were nice. I had enchilada and they were not the best. Feeding the bird made my day. Check out the photo.

Good food, good service . I don't understand all the bad reviews. To me, it was a little more Latin fusion then authentic Mexican. If you like bachata, merengue, & salsa.. You'll be in heaven because thats what they play in here. It is an Spanish place in a nice area located in mall... How authentic did you think it was gonna be? This isn't Hialeah or Miami ! I thought it was very good for what it was worth. I would come back next time I'm visiting.

Some of the worst Mexican food I've ever had. The chips and salsa were good, but that's about it. The guac tasted terrible, don't know how. I got a vegetable burrito. The beans tasted soapy, the burrito tasted like a terrible grilled cheese and the rice was only mildly redeemable.

Been here several times for lunch with my coworkers. Great food. Delicious every time. Best chips and salsa. Not salty at all and their salad tastes amazing. Much try the spicy one. I always get the fish tacos which are so yummy. Some said the enchiladas are really good also. Happy hour is the best. Just try their margaritas. Not a fan of margaritas but these are really good. 4$ Great place to go!! Awesome outside seating as well

This used to be our favorite Mexican Restaurant when it was El Mariachi. New owners, new menu, terrible food. Take the drive to the original El Mariachi in Coral Springs, it's worth the trip!!!

Odd thing to comment on in a Mexican Restaurant but the coffee was wonderful! Complementary chips were pleasantly warm and not greasy. The Lunch Menu offered the familiar Steak Fajitas at a very attractive luncheon price. They were excellent and the service was superb. They have less familiar specialties which we are looking forward to trying next time. Highly recommended!

Disagree with bad or negative reviews. Excellent service and menu recommend the Too Loco Burrito filled with Churrasco....

This place is trying to pretend they are the old Mariachi that was down the street. No where like the other one. Over priced, terrible food and poor service. I ordered a buritto. It was full of nothing but beans and rice and cold inside. The waiter took forever to come back after giving us our food so it was too late for me to order something else. Chips and salsa had no taste. Lechon asado was fatty. Portion size is small compared to the high prices. Would have spend half the price and gotten twice the food at Chipolte

I thought that the atmosphere was phenomenal and even though i was told the mariachi band would be annoying i did not find this to be the case i didnt even see a mariachi band and the food was pretty good and like everyone else on here i had absolutely no beef with the service. Am i rushing back there at a dead sprint? no, but i definitely had an experience way opposite of what i am reading here. the four start rating is right on point and appropriate

I love Mexican food, but this place has been a disappointment twice. We went the second time as reviews stated that management and chefs were new... Yeah they are still bad. I had the tequila chicken on my second try n it was nothing to write home about n over priced for the very poor quality. Guaranteed that they won't get me a 3rd time.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
