I had been to La Torretta a long time ago with a friend, when we were on a road trip, and we were pleased with our meals. Since I was heading over to the Chapel Trail Nature Preserve nearby, I remembered this spot and decided to come back. It is situated in a shopping plaza, containing a Publix, as well as other restaurants and businesses. I cannot remember what I had the first time I came, but this time, I decided to order one of their entrees that comes with a soup or salad, and garlic rolls. I chose the salad, and settled on the Pollo Florentine, which comes with mushrooms and spinach in a light brown sauce. Though the food may not be economical, the portion sizes are more than reasonable, and make up for this. My salad arrived, and I'm not sure if they use a homemade dressing, but it was really good, on an otherwise simple salad. When my chicken arrived, I was blown away by the size. It's a large breast, on a bed of steamed spinach. I ordered the steamed vegetables on the side, rather than the pasta (you have the option of pasta or veggies with the entree), and I am glad I did, because I was barely able to finish my meal (I didn't even have dinner that day). I liked the fact that they used real, chopped mushrooms, rather than the canned type that you get at other establishments. The spinach was fresh and tender, delicately folded under the chicken. The sauce was quite tasty too, and the vegetables consisted of a good assortment of vegetables, not just carrots and broccoli, like at other places. I was able to dip my veggies in the leftover sauce, after savoring it on the chicken and spinach. I see a lot of people mentioning issues with service, but I had none. The waiter was pretty attentive, and when I asked for a to-go cup, I was given one. I asked if I could have more soda in my to-go cup and he gladly obliged. Most restaurants would tell you their soft drinks are not to go, and if they do offer a to-go cup, they won't fill it up to the top, they will only let you take whatever was in your glass to begin with. I would come more often if I lived closer, seems like a decent dining option for locals craving Italian food, plus I hear good things about their pizza. Maybe next time, I'll have to give it a try!

The best pizza in Weston with the worst service in Weston. Management is arrogant and do not care about the long term impact of poor service. Only time will tell. Recommend to order for pick-up only.

I usually come here for pizza or a quick Italian fix. The pizza and rolls (chicken & eggplant) are fantastic. I order the pizza well-done which leaves the crust crispy and crunchy. The pizza sauce is very good, much better than the sauces from pizza delivery chains. Their marinara sauce is a lot different from many Italian restaurants. It's tangy with chunks of tomato rather than a classic purée consistency. Their Classic Italian dishes are pretty good from their chicken Parmesan to baked ziti. The garlic rolls, which comes with these dishes, are not so great. The garlic rolls seem like their doused with oil and given generous spoonfuls of RAW garlic and other spices. Service is slow and a little inattentive.

This place is decent but not great. Very conveniently located. Garlic rolls are really good. Pizza is merely adequate. If you have a big crowd and need something last minute, this might be a good option.

Great Pizza - husband loves the Chicken Piccata...I look forward to when they have salmon on the special menu...great service. We do a lot of take out from them...pizza is perfect when it arrives home. 2 yr old daughter & husband LOVE the minestrone soup. Great stuffed artichoke. Lots of flavor. Had to reduce the stars because we stopped going. Last time we were there (several times) the wait time for the food to get to the table was ridiculously long.

Absolutely one of the best eggplant parms I've ever had! There marinara sauce is delish! Totally unassuming plain old Italian feeling, a long wait but totally worth it. Had it while passing through...if you are in the area. One final word.....Yum! Down falls... not date night cute but I'm from Chicago. Long wait, and service could use some help! But would I go back....Absolutely!

I was expecting a good neighborhood pizza, but unfortunately this pizza reminded me more of one of those quick order chains. If I'm going to get a pizza like that, I'll just order from one of the chains, they deliver quicker.

Love the fresh pizza off the brick oven. Great sauce and crust

Let me sum it up. All food is good, service is horrible.i wish the service checked on us once in a while. The servers forced us to order fast.

Very rude employee taking delivery orders didn't give total or say thank Order here couple times a month food is good but can find equal food quality elsewhere for better price and better service. Hope it is just off night

Love the food at La Torretta...my wife's favorite is the Mozzarella Salad. My kids and I enjoy the pizza, it is pretty good. I agree with some of the other reviewers portions are big (can be a little pricey but can always make a meal the next day with the leftovers). Service can be very slow (haven't been able to figure out why and I like the servers...but can be slow). My tip would be to ask that when a server comes by to ask for anything you could need over the next 10 minutes (extra napkins, a refill, your check, etc.).

Pizza! Pizza! One of the best in south Florida. Large portions so don't be turned off with the prices.

Decent pizza is hard to come by where I live now and I greatly miss La Torretta in Weston, especially their Euro pizza, which comes with frankfurters, prosciutto, salami, provolone, and mozzarella. The pizza is not too bready and has the perfect ratio of sauce. The manicotti is also pretty delicious and the atmosphere here is cozy and quaint.

We are regulars inside the restaurant. The food and service are fantastic. Sobiavthe owner Martha. We ordered take out tonight and was told 40 to 45 min. Martha took the order on the telephone. We get there and had to wait another 45 minutes!! 1 1/2 hours to wait for takeout Bad

This Italian place is truly one of my favorite places beside the Cheesecake Factory to have my favorite cheat meal: authentic and saucy pasta. Now I have tried the pasta and pizza and I recommend the lasagna and baked ziti! The lasagna portion is a bit small but will fill you up and it is really delicious! The baked ziti is Classic Italian comfort food with such a flavorful marinara sauce and a huge load of cheese oozing throughout the dish. My only complaint for the baked ziti: the portion is HUGE. I have ordered it for dinner and was pleasantly surprised it comes with their famous garlic rolls and a soup or salad (go with the pasta fagioli I think that's how you spell it). I recently tried the ravioli and it was delicious but the meat inside was a bit too creamy for my taste and was almost like a store bought ravioli. Overall, amazing place with a great ambiance and fantastic food. The only reason I gave this three stars is last time I went there with my friend, the waiter included gratuity into the check without informing my party of two and when my friend handed him a tip for gratuity he accepted it without being honest and telling us that he already had put it on a check. I hope the owners will see this and make up their mistake to me because that is a con and taking advantage of people. *this review is honest and comes from a loyal customer*

There are certain waitresses that provide less than great customer service. Lately I have had great experiences thanks to some new waiters that know how to make your dining experience great. Last time I was there I was told the pizza would take 30 min, they were so busy. I asked the waiter if there was anything he could do, and lo and behold, pizza in 10 min!

A little bit of Real New York italian in Westin! This was my first time visiting and I have to say it was amazing. Started with the Calamari. The marinara sauce was right on point! I had to try the pizza and had the White Pie and it did not disappoint! My wife had the meatballs, my daughter had chichen cutlet and I had Chicken Florentine. All were amazing and the portions were huge! But the best thing about this Gem of a restaurant was the the people who own and run it. They put the passion and heart into their place--like the heart and soul of true Italians. Molto Bene!

I ordered a salad to go . Myself and four others have been waiting here for forty five minutes and have not received our order and we are being ignored by staff. I was told to avoid this place but was shopping near by never again!

A shadow of its former glory, La Torreta has left a disappointing experience that has quite literally left a bad taste in my mouth. On a recent visit, I had been looking forward to their eggplant Parmesan, but when my order finally came through after a slightly lengthy wait time, I found that it had an odd texture to it and even more awful taste. My guest who ordered the same meal complained of having similar issues, while my son, ordered a pizza stated that his food wasn't nearly as good as he recalled. Tl;DR The quality of the food and service has dropped significantly in these recent days, and I probably won't be eating there again.

Authentic Italian! Delicious pizza, the best in town! As is the Pasta Fragoli, my favorite Italian soup, DelVecchio's makes it the best!!!! Highly recommend!

Went there with friends on a Saturday night. Native italian waiter is always a good sign ! Food was really good, service was attentive. One word for the calamari: amazing ! Also a very true marinara sauce, just the way is supposed to be ! Absolutely delicious ! Totally worth the drive !

Great meals and selections to chose from. Large portions that are mouthwatering! Great service and friendly staff, who are always helpful and quick to help. Owners are actually Italian and partake in the kitchen and all aspects of the restaurant.

Excellent pizza ! ! ! My uncle, who grew up in New York City, and is Italian, told me that this pizza is as good as what he remembers eating growing up there. I haven't tried the dinner entrees so I cant rate them on that yet, but after trying the pizza I might check them out for dinner one of these days.. but this 5 star review is for the pizza! Try it out!

Great food. Chicken Parmesan is very good. Pizza is also good. I order almost every week, mostly delivery. They are very busy and tend to screw up orders at times. There has been a few times I've called then to come back for something they have missed. Nevertheless, I still go because food is very good.

Ordered delivery. It took an hour to get my order. When I called to find out why my food hasn't arrived at the promised time, they acted like it was not a big deal and didn't apologize for being late. The food wasn't that good anyway. Not worth the wait! I'm done with this place.

The pizza here is good. However, skip the salad. Salads here always come out warm and it's pretty gross. I have sent them back several times and now know to skip the salad. The other menu items are ok...it's really best for pizza.

I was very glad that while I was down in Florida visiting relatives, instead of being taken to their usual choice of a Chili's or Applebee's or some other cookie-cutter chain, I was brought to a standalone family restaurant. It meant that whether I'd like the food or not, I at least knew I wasn't going to be served a faux meal cloned from all the other restaurants from in that chain. The place was packed when we got there Saturday night. Obviously a popular hangout, filled with families, soccer teams, etc. Everyone seemed happy and comfortable, and I felt welcomed. That might just be because my brother is a regular, though. Which also means I can't really judge the service, which was attentive, but regulars can be treated differently than the casual visitor. Decent garlic bread. Competent calamari appetizer. Neither was out of the ordinary, but both were acceptable. For my entree, I decided to go with something I'd never eaten before. That way, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed by comparing it with how I'd had it served elsewhere. So I chose Chicken Spasso -- chicken breasts sautéed with shallots, asparagus and sweet roasted peppers in a white wine sauce. The portion was huge -- all our portions were -- so I only had half. Unfortunately, the sauce was so thick and flavorful that the taste of the food it was covering was all the same. The chicken, asparagus, and peppers could only be told apart by texture, not taste, as the sauce buried the food rather than complemented it. Which is a shame, because I _like_ asparagus. Wasn't able to taste it, though. I didn't have any dessert, but my brother had a cannolo and seemed to enjoy it. When we left, the restaurant was still filled with many happy patrons, many of them seemingly repeat customers, so obviously, your mileage may vary. They must be coming back for _some_ reason, which makes me wish I'd chosen another dish. They can't _all_ have sauces so overwhelming. Right?

My go-to take-out joint when no one wants to cook, but we want to kind of pretend we did. Above average pasta dishes. Terrific Mozzarella salad and not-bad-at all pasta e fagioli. Serve them on real plates at home and you can pretend you cooked. You can eat in the restaurant, too. Plenty of room. Oh, and my picky teenager likes the pizza. A small miracle. Located in a strip mall with a Publix, Starbucks and Blockbuster. A suburban night of fun and subdued excitement is yours for the taking.

Wow, That's bad Italian. I read all the positive reviews on Yelp...I wonder if they ate at the same place I did! I ordered chicken parm with a salad and veggies for a side dish. The creamy italian dressing was so salty I just ate the salad dry. The squash & zucchini was soft and mushy and the chicken had more breading than meat and was way,way overcooked. It had to have a pound of melted cheese on top! Holy Cow, talk about a heart stopper, the sauce, taste like it came from a can. Won't be back.

Ordered delivery....food came ice cold an hour and a half later, decided to give them them a second chance even though my wife said not to because of the terrible customer service when you call to see where your food could be. But I did and now are waiting for our food again-an hour and forty five minutes after ordered. We live less than 10 minutes away. At this point I wouldn't even go pick it up because of the terrible attitudes I received from the people on the phone.

My husband and I live in Weston, and REALLY try to support local businesses. We (mostly) enjoy the food here, but there is such a challenge with the service at nearly every visit that we have decided we just can't go back. Our experience this past Sunday was typical. When we arrived at the restaurant, they were pretty busy, but we were seated right away. The waiter took our wine order, and we seemed to be off too a good start. Delivery of the wine was just a bit slow, but nothing terrible; we chalked it off to their busy-ness. We ordered chicken Marsala for my husband, and a pepperoni and mushroom personal pan pizza for myself. Once again, there was a delay for the delivery of our order, but once again, we realized they were busy. Unfortunately, when our meal got there, my pizza was chicken, not pepperoni. I pointed out the error to the person that delivered our food, and when the waiter came over, he was not the least bit apologetic about the mistake. He then asked if I would be willing to wait 5 minutes for a new pizza, to which I said yes. He didn't offer to keep my husband's food warm while we waited, which pretty much forced him to choose between eating cold food or appearing rude while he ate when I couldn't. About 15 minutes later, the manager on duty came over and asked how everything was going. I did not have my replacement food, so I told him that I wasn't particularly happy. Clearly, our waiter had not alerted him to the issue. At any rate, he apologized and stated that he would find out what was causing the delay. About 10 minutes later, long after my husband had finished his meal, my pizza finally showed up. We anticipated the restaurant would, at a minimum, not charge us for the pizza that was 1/2 hour behind our original food. Instead, they gave us a $5 credit for our meal; less than half the price of just the pizza. Hey folks, I can be ignored and insulted for a lot less money than we paid for this dinner. I STRONGLY advise you not patronize this restaurant unless you like being treated as if the staff is doing you a big favor by even showing up to work. By the way, although this was the worst incident of rudeness and poor service we've experienced here, it is far from unique. This is the end of our trying to support this particular local business. La Toretta: for a service business, you are totally missing it.

Americanized Italian place. Very plain and just your average family dinning. When you see spaghetti with meatballs, fettuccine Alfredo and chicken Marsala all in the same menu run away! You know for sure no Italian has ever been on the kitchen of that restaurant. If you are looking for authentic italian don't even get close to this place.

We have had the pleasure of having dinner here twice with some good friends that stay in Weston when they come down for their winter vacation. Both times the food has been awesome. The garlic rolls and Caesar salad are excellent. I had the shrimp parmigiana which was very flavorful and my husband had the veal parmigiana, which he also said was very good. We also had the stuffed shrimp for an appetizer which was delicious. The service was fantastic, Dan was our server and he was great. Wished we lived closer, because we would definitely go there more often.

This restaurant used to be one of my favorites. However, now, they're just OK. A couple of times my family and I have eaten in the restaurant, the service was very slow and two times there was a problem with the pasta fagiole soup. One time they said they were out and had to make some more. Another time they served the soup without any pasta in it whatsoever. This restaurant has always been a favorite for take out as well, but the last time I went, the person at the register (I believe she is the owner) gave me a pizza that she had accidently given to another customer. He left with it and returned with it several minutes later. She then placed it aside and when it was my turn to pick up (I had been waiting with several other people for backlogged orders), she gave me the pizza he had brought back. When I questioned her about it and mentioned that it was probably cold, she denied that it was the same pizza. I was there. I saw it. I don't think it is proper to give someone food that has left the premises.

My wife and daughter ordered take out from this family run restaurant. The pasta was excellent as was the garlic rolls and minestrone soup. It was all fresh and zesty. My daughter commented that the owner seemed to know a lot of the customers by name and greeted them in a friendly way. South Florida seems to be booming and this place is no exception. The state seems really business friendly unlike Illinois I wonder why!

Ordered and had it delivered. They forgot the garlic rolls that come with the dinner. We ordered 4 dinners. I called and spoke with the Manager who said they were on the way. It's now 1 hour and a half later and we have been done with our dinner. I called again and spoke with the Manager who then offered me 15% off my next meal there. There won't be a next meal. She said that my rolls were to be delivered on the next run and she cannot control how slow other customers pay and hold up the delivery man. She should have had the bus boy deliver them; this was their mistake! I opted to still have the rolls delivered (since she was not offering me any other option), but at this point I doubt they will ever come. Terrible customer service and there sure as heck won't be another time I order from there. I only live 10 minutes away!

Since this restaurant is practically around the corner, we finally decided to give it a try. We went for dinner and I ordered the chicken francese and my husband ordered the fish special which came with mussels and clams. The dinner entrees come with soup or salad, rolls and pasta. I ordered the salad and my hubby got the soup - pasta e fagioli, to be precise. And it was YUM-O! I haven't had good pasta e fagioli in a long time, so this was a very pleasant surprise. I wanted to lick the bowl clean! My chicken francese was perfectly coated - not too flour-y or egg-y, and the lemon wine sauce was wonderfully tart. I used the garlic rolls to sop up all the lemon-y goodness. For our daughter, we ordered the tri-color tortellini off of the kids menu and it was AMAZING! We all sampled it (since it was a pretty large portion) and we were all wowed. Speaking of portion sizes, all I can say is come hungry!! The servings are enormous! Service was also very good - prompt and courteous. There was always someone checking up on us, asking if we needed refills, etc. Overall, food, service and atmosphere (kid-friendly!) were very good. We are looking forward to coming back here.

One of the two BEST pizza joints in South Fl. As a former NYCer I highly recommed this place. Here's why: Good sauce, great cheese, great dough, pizza with FLAVOR. I hate a pizza that smells plain, and tastes plain. You'll never get a bad pizza here. Other favorite is the Chicken Roll, which you have to order to believe. And the decor is fun, kitchy and serious at the same time.

I have been here twice. The place is quaint, warm, clean and the staff is friendly. I have only had their caesar salad, garden salad and PIZZA! The caesar is really good. It's fresh and the dressing tastes like it's something their prepare in house but I'm not sure. The house salad is simple, good. Now let's talk pizza! They hands down make one of the best pizza's I've ever had. We ordered, both times, an artichoke, prosciutto, mushroom, onion and eggplant pizza. I don't know what it is that makes this combo the bomb but it really works. Their pizza isn't greasy and the crust is crisp. I have ordered a little extra sauce on the side as I like to dip as well. This place is close to home and delish so we have added it to our dining out staple of restaurants. Now I'm craving pizza!

So I haven't been here in several months after my bad experience in the past. So I figured I would try again...... I ordered food to go and I was told it would be ready in 30 mins.... Knowing that it always takes forever I came in 45 mins later and low and behold my food still isn't ready. It has now been over an hour and I am still waiting. I am sitting inside and the owner is to busy bitching at her staff than where my food is. Like I said this place has good food but the owners attitude is terrible. Last time I was here they forgot my soup when I came back in and told them they forgot it she made a point to tell the girl he only gets a cup of soup do t give him a bowl. (Hello I am standing in fronting you, and remember you did forget to give it to me in the first place) i would much rather spend my money and go to vignetos..... Great service amazing food.

We've been going to La Torretta for years. We're not going back anymore. We're done! Service is very slow. Nobody is motivated. The food is OK. BUT IT THEY DON'T CARE WY SHOULD WE? We've ordered for delivery, pickup and eat in. Our pickup / delivery orders are missing items 50% of the time. And we wait longer than acceptable eating in, no matter how busy they are at the time. The owners are present and visible but make little effort to keep things going smoothly. They also fail to recognize customers that have been eating there for 20 years. Its nice to be thanked for my business once in a while. Vignettos is a few miles away. They're are go to for anything Italian and have great service.

A solid local Italian joint. The pizza is good, the calamari are crispy and not too greasy and the eggplant dish with spaghetti was good. All in all, I think their sauce is a tad on the sweet side for me, which is why I can't rave about this place. This is a solid neighborhood joint though and will continue to get my business, which is why I have to rate myself a fan of the place.

My rating is 4 stars. I always order the baked ziti! It's absolutely wonderful for me. It comes with a soup of your choice, salad, and rolls. I love it all! I make emphasis on no garlic on the rolls, and I get it the way I want to. Why didn't I give 5 stars? The delivery is so slow. It's always 45 minutes to an hour to get to my house. Still, despite it taking that long it is always warm, so I gave it 4 stars bc of this.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country.
