Oh man how I love Japan Inn. So far, it is my favorite hibachi restaurant around. The staff has ALWAYS been very friendly and attentive. Every cook we had always had jokes which makes the experience better. I've never tried anything but the hibachi, which comes with soup, salad, your choice of rice, vegetables, and your choice of meat. Compared to other hibachi restaurants, they are relatively cheaper then all other restaurants. I definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone craving an Asian taste. Make sure to go on an empty stomach!!

I find it funny that this Japan inn has lower ratings then the other... Funny because it's accurate. Nonetheless, Japan in is always a home run. We went on a Saturday for my birthday spur of the moment with a nice sized party. The wait and service may be long but the atmosphere is a 10. Much more spacious, family friendly and fun oriented. The whole town of weston probably goes here Our chef was tricky and gave us the usual barrage of volcano, shrimp flipping and hand tricks Onto the important stuff: the food. Like I said, beyond filling, tasty, fast and fun but for some reason it's just not as good as plantation. It's basically two meals in one Whateever you do get the sauces... As much as you can of them both.

A friend recommended this place. We sat at a regular table. The food was incredible. We ordered the regular Dragon Roll (ehh) and Japan Roll (yummie). Shrimp Fried Rice and Pad Thai. The pad thai was amazing. I've had it before and didn't like it. Tried it here delicious. Thai Donuts amazing also.

You like Asian food you have to try this place this is one of my kids favorite place we all know why it is a little train smoking with the onions I cook everything fresh right in front of you what more could a person ask for for their family the family fun night when you come to Japan in by the way the food is awesome

The food is Always great, my family and I love to come! The only bad thing to say is the long wait.

I love this place! Their clear soup it's to die for. I used to have lunch here every day. Their sushi is delicious and the hibachi entertainment it's pretty good too. Prices are very affordable.

Four star food. Wife and woman next to is agreed too much sodium. But delicious all around for me. But the server was terrible. Never returned to ask me if i wanted another mai tai. The when we're done he says "I'll be back in a little while to pack up your food". He should've said "I'll be right back to pack up your food." I don't want to wait while you smoke a cigarette or play games on your phone in the kitchen. I'm done eating and i want to go home. And he sure meant he'll be back in a little while too..it was six minutes later. And another 6 mins waiting for the check. My time is worth money, so is yours. Show me respect and i will reciprocate. Its 3.5 stars other than the wait staff.

Went here for dinner last night to celebrate my son's birthday. We didn't have reservations and they sat us down what felt like right away. Service was friendly and attentive. Our chef, Suny was extremely funny and nice. Disappointed that they didn't have hibachi chicken fried rice like Benihana's but everything we ordered was delicious. They sat us with and we met a super nice couple. The whole experience was very enjoyable. Only complaint is that the flat ware and dish ware look worn and old and I was a little concerned about the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. The bathroom smells like they are having a problem with their plumbing and the overall condition of the restaurant on the interior seemed dingy. Outside very pretty and whimsical however. Especially at night when they have their twinkle lights on.

This place is an absolute gem! I came here twice and am already planning my next trip back. At first glance the dinner seems expensive as the teppan menu starts from 17.95! However, you truly get your money's worth. This is a five course meal starting out with clear soup AND ginger dressed salad. The first course is a shrimp appetizer which is delicious and cooked just right. The fried rice is addictive and after you finish it, you feel a twinge is sadness that is soon washed away from your third and fourth course which is the chicken and the vegetables. Although the chicken is slightly dry, dip it in one of the two amazing sauces and the flavor is just incredible. The fifth course is a delicious noodle and bean sprout mixture that they do not serve at benhiannas. Plus the happy hour menu gives great prices on sushi and drink deals! The lunch service is something I have never been to but have gotten takeout during lunch. The gold finger combination with clear soup gives you so much food and the decorative fruit is a nice touch! Now for the service. The people here are very friendly and want to give you the best possible service. The teppan master is amazingly talented and so much fun to watch. I like the seating arrangement here much better than benhiannas because the parties are separated by a huge grill so there is no awkwardness to try and make conversation with strangers. *this review is an honest and comes from a loyal customer*

Japan Inn is a favorite of the kids...for me, I can take it or leave it, but tonight...I'm taking it! We had a reservation for 6pm and arrived a few minutes late, but they say us immediately and the restaurant was packed. Tonight we all ordered the Hibachi Filet and it was cooked to perfection. So tender it was melting in my mouth. My little one (9 years old) and I usually share this dish, however, he recently discovered that leftover cold Japan Inn for breakfast is the best, so he ordered his own. He also discovered that he's a fan of shrimp so he ate his and my husbands as well. I usually eat everyone's shrimp appetizer so I felt a little jipped tonight. I'm not a fan of the soup so I always pass on it. I did find the salad isn't as good as they used to be and was a bit disappointed. Our service tonight was right on the money. Quick, friendly and very courteous. Our hibachi chef was awesome! Funny and had us laughing when we weren't eating. The downfall, all that garlic butter they cook with! He just kept piling it on! Not a place to go if you are dieting! Tonight was probably one of the best experiences we have had in a long time!

NPS = 5 This place beats out Benihana, with the prices at least. I haven't been to a hibachi in years. But coming over here, it was a cool visit back. And the I remembered what hibachi really is: it is an all you can eat that is cooked in front of you. All you can eat because the portions are ginormous. The inside is not too glamorous but you can't beat $10 hibachi. The hostess was really nice and the chef was nice too. I ordered the chicken and shrimp and my girlfriend ordered the steak and chicken. It really doesn't matter what your order anyway....everything just tastes like soy sauce in the end. This place is a place to pig out. Don't expect a nice cozy dinner. Here you sit with random strangers and all just get a ton of food tossed on your plate. We sat next to a couple that brought their kid and the child did not stop crying. Again....$10 hibachi. You get what you pay for. It doesn't matter what you order either: you'll get rice, noddles, meat....meh, a little bit of everything! What I was thankful for was that they at least respected my girlfriend's shrimp allergy and cooked my shrimp separately. Why only two stars? Because when we asked for our food to go, they tossed it ALL in the same to-go box. It did not matter what was different and what had different sauces: it all went together. Again...$10 hibachi.

This restaurant constantly over books itself, meaning ridiculously long lines for walk ins, and you shouldn't even bother getting a reservation because you will end up waiting 30+ minutes anyways. Other than that, it's extremely crowded and you are crammed in like refugees at the hibachi tables. The food is ok, not amazing, and the portions are a bit small. Benihana is basically the same, but much better service, a much nicer environment, and an overall better experience.

This place is popping! I went for my son's birthday and it was a lot of fun. The place was really crowded, but service did not suffer. The staff was very friendly and the chefs were fun.

I may be partial because I know the owners, but this is my favorite Hibachi style Japanese restaurant around. Much better than Benihana (which I consider "fast food Japanese Food). Friendly staff, fresh food, entertaining chefs, great drinks, and large flat screens from every angle at every table in case you don't want to miss a game ;-). Much more upscale than Benihana. Love it!

This restaurant is the best for HIBACHI that is their specialty. As for the sushi and everything else they serve it 2 but I feel it is ok but not bad considering they specialize in Hibachi. If you don't have reservations the wait can be quite long but definitely worth it if you're having the Hibachi so just make sure to have reservations. The drunken monkey drink here is super yummy. As for chefs my favorite are Tang and Mark but the others are good 2. =)

Absolutely LOVE this place! Great/yummmy food, nice ambience and a very friendly staff - they go beyond just giving you great service, they always ask about life and my family when they aren't dining with me. Hands down my favorite restaurant! Japan Inn is one of the things I truly miss about home which is why I always make it a priority to go whenever I'm visiting home! Go now, don't deprive yourself of this little greatness!!

Don't get me wrong, I like Japan Inn - the food is consistently good and big (you'll definitely leave with leftovers) but the service can be hit or miss and, on this particular occasion, it was a HUGE miss, and pretty much ruined our night. We decided to forgo reservations as it was a Tuesday night. The place was still busy - but we were seated immediately. It took our waiter a little bit to take our food orders, we figured he was hoping to fill the hibachi table with more guests, but we soon got down to business. Since it was before the end of happy hour, we ordered a few extra items - edamame, a conch and octopus appetizer, lychee martinis and hot sake off of the happy hour menu, since these are all reasonably priced. Eventually our "chef" made his way over to the table and the show began. I felt he did a good job interacting with us, and showing us a new trick - flipping an egg yolk while keeping it intact. We mentioned that we were there to celebrate a birthday and he said he would let the waiter know. Things at this point began to annoy us. Our waiter completely forgot to check on us once our "chef" had arrived. And getting additional drinks, or refills on our waters, or even additional sauces had to be conveyed through our chef to any random staff member he saw, sometimes another waiter, at times a manager! I have no idea where our waiter went! Once our meal was finished, another random waiter came over to bring the check. We weren't even offered a dessert menu, nor was there any acknowledgement of the birthday! We actually complained and eventually they decided they would come and bring out the free ice cream and sing a little song. I was a bit fed up at this point and felt as though the entire celebration had been ruined. I'm really quite passive when it comes to bad service, but when you practically have to beg to get more water I'm not a happy camper. Yes, I'll be back - I really do like Japan Inn, but I think I'll stick to the Plantation location.

This place was great! The service was fast, the seating was great, and the food was delicious! We chose to sit outside and it started to rain. The staff ran out to bring us and our food inside. However, we really wanted to stay outside considering Florida rain never lasts very long. The staff was more than accommodating with our request moving us to another table with an umbrella and checking on us constantly. We will definitely come back here when in Ft. Lauderdale. Highly recommended.

Best Hibachi restaurant in town. Food is always good and lots of it for the price. Tang the chef is great with the kids. Funny, friendly and his food is always good. Only con is that you smell of food when you leave so don't expect to go anywhere else after.

I love this place and I eat here way to much. They have great sushi with good sized chunks of fish. They also have hibachi, and Thai - although I really always order sushi, so can't speak to their Thai. There lunch specials are a great deal. They have outdoor, or indoor seating.

Before I start my review I should probably make is clear I am not a fan of hibachi grill. With that being said Valentine's day also happens to be my youngest brother's birthday and he loves Japan Inn. So, again for his birthday we came here. I really do not like this place. We had reservations and waited about 10 minutes, which isn't terrible. After being seated we received our drinks promptly. I always order shrimp Paid Thai and JB Rolls (although here they are called Japanch Rolls) since it seems to be the best bet. The waitress seemed to be confused to what was in the rolls, and since there were no description under the rolls (i.e. salmon, cream cheese, etc) it presented a problem. I ended up getting something close but not what I was looking for. After we received our drinks we did not see our waitress again so getting drink refills was very difficult. I attempted to flag down ANYONE who walked by my table, but they all ignored me. We were seated right in front of the hostess stand so in theory someone should have seen us but they made sure not to make eye contact. Finally the chef had to flag down a food runner to get us refills. The food was ok. My pad thai didn't seem to taste as good as last time I was here. It was very bland with only a few piece of shrimp. They do get points for completely removing the tail from the shrimp and the strong lychee-tini. The chef was also good. Other then that everything else was below average. At one point I knocked over my water (the table surface is very small) and was unable to get the waitress to stop. She brought us the check but no extra napkins.

  • Carmine H.

Very mediocre, the chicken and filet were great, however the fried rice, soup, and salad were very subpar compared to other hibachi. The service was okay. I give this place 3 stars. The food is very average for a hibachi pace. If you decide to come here, be sure to have reservations!

Japan Inn's food is quality, but overall this really isn't my kind of place. This isn't a date place, this is a place for large groups, birthday's, and a place teenagers like to go apparently because there were at least two dozen in there while I was there. It's a fun show that's put on if you like theatrics during your meal. What I don't like is how everything is prepared separately meaning you get your veggies, you get your rice and then you get your food. I am a mixer so if I wait to mix all my goodies together most of it is cold. Everything I had was delicious. I ordered the chicken and shrimp which came with soup, salad, shrimp app and noodles after the veggies rice and meal came. The absolute worst thing about this place is how you'll smell after it. I feel for the employees. This is a place that's your last stop for the evening. I'd rather come out of a smokey bar than have to spend 2 hours in there again. The restaurant is big, but the tables are so large you feel cramped in the spaces. If you want a to-do then this is your spot. If not, go somewhere else and save yourself the immediate shower after.

Fairly packed for a random Wednesday night. Popular place for birthdays. Service was painfully slow. Seemed understaffed. Food was average, typical for a hibachi place.

We had so much fun tonight at the Japan Inn! This was a perfect fit for my crew of 3. The chef was entertaining, attentive to the desires of the kids (noodles but no rice, etc...) and made for a really fun evening. We had chicken, shrimp and scallops between the 4 of us and with it, the vegetables, rice, noodles, and starters there was more than enough food to full us up! That didn't keep us from ordering desert, though. We had green tea mochi which was the perfect topper for the evening. There were lots of different groups here - some celebrating birthdays and some with kids others certainly without. A shout-out to the hostesses who were incredibly friendly, and made us feel so very welcome. Most importantly, the review from the kids, "the best place to eat and the best mochi in the whole area." Arigato Japan Inn!

This review is an average of a number of visits to this place. The hibachi is 5 stars thanks to the fun experience, the wonderful cooks and the high quality of the food. The regular table experience has been good most times except today. My fiancé got the bamboo steamed flounder, which turned out to be the worst dish we both ever tasted. Then we got the spicy tuna roll, which was very bland, to the point that I decided to send it back (something I almost never do no matter how bad food may be). The cook sent it right back to the table saying that it was fine, which is basically a slap in a customer's face. I will only return for the hibachi.

This used to be my favorite sushi restaurant in Weston. I'm not a huge hibachi fan, but the sushi here is really good, fresh, and the rolls are amazing. The problem is that they remodeled to put in more hibachi tables, which eliminated the booths. They added a room on the side for sushi only tables. You literally feel like your at a kids table during the holidays. The room is usually hot and stuffy, the waiters forget you're there, and the whole atmosphere that I used to love is gone :(

Came in and was seated right away with one other family of 6...first time here and it was a delicious experience. ...we ordered off the happy hour menu California rolls and hot sake...then for appetizer we had the pad thai...I know right pad thai for appetizer..it was on the app menu gave it a shot bc I love pad thai and frequently visit thai restaurants. For dinner we had hibachi filet and chicken. Came with noodles and fired rice and veggies. ..amazing...chef was very funny and entertaining. He did a great job. And also did a few tricks! Better experience then benihana if u ask me...much cheaper and easy on the pockets and the happy hour menu is a plus!!!! I definitely recommend this place if u like hibachi:-)

I'm giving this place two stars, only because I'm under the influence of hot sake. So here goes... This place is filthy!! I sat by the kitchen and what a saw was atrocious. The way they'd keep the "clean plates" I wouldn't ever do at my house. The floors are sticky. I felt like I was at a movie theater. Next, the sashimi looks like it was serrated by the sous chefs buck teeth!! The portions of the sashimi were sooooo disproportionate, one to the other.. I swear, if the sushi chef coulda given us one more shape of sashimi, I'm sure he would had given us the only one he missed, A circle. I'm sure the chefs here, are someone's Japanese grandpa, and they just said to them "come on down. The price is right!" Because there is NO WAY, that what I was given was a volcano roll!! Oh, also, I think my husbands "famous stone crab roll" was made with either canned tuna or canned cat food. I'm hoping it's the first one. On the only other bright side (aside from the sake) the little old Japanese waitress was adorable, very helpful and accommodating. Would I go back? Only if I was preliquored, it was 4 am and NOTHING else was open.

Wow- worst sushi I've ever eaten in my life! How can this be considered sushi? It was disgusting. I ordered a spicy tuna hand roll, (typically the tuna is smushed up with spicy mayo & served with rice seaweed & cucumber etc.) but it was one (NOT fresh) slice of tuna with no spicy mayo, just some spicy seasoning on the top? I asked our waiter what this was because it tasted horrible & the fish tasted days old. I told our waiter I really did not enjoy the hand roll & he said sorry & walked away, he didn't even offer to take it off the bill! Second, I ordered the pad Thai, flavor was ok but they served FROZEN CHICKEN with it. The chicken was absolutely disgusting. The miso soup tasted like it was from a packet. In comparison to Benihana (similar style restaurant) this place sucks! Do not come here.

Went there last night with my 9 and 10 year old boys. They actually put their phones away and loved watching the chef cook, and loved how he joked with them. After all this the food was out of this world

Just visited this place for the third time, but my first time here for lunch. As always, my steak hibachi was delicious and of course I couldn't finish all that food (they serve generous amounts). Then the bill came.. HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! $37.79 for 2 full hibachi lunches, a coke and tuna tataki appetizer! So this place has lunch specials every single day till 3pm. You cannot beat this considering the amount of food you get and how good it is.

I have never been disappointed. I usually have the same thing and it is ALWAYS great! I have avocado egg roll...the best I have ever had and for hibachi I always have calamari and shrimp. The calamari is always tender and the shrimp perfect. I love the veggies and rice. I rarely have room for the noodles. Tang and Bob are my favorites, but I have never been disappointed by the chef. Every so often if they are crazy busy for the cooking tables, we will sit at the regular tables...the sushi is always good. My toddler loves the miso soup and the hibachi rice.

So I'm just beginning to realize Ft Lauderdale isn't a city that lacks food diversity. It's been almost 5 months since I've moved from LA, and I miss LA food dearly. But when my girlfriend found this place via yelp, I was more than stoked. We made a reservation for 4 at 9pm but got seated at 930pm. We had a movie to catch at 1030 but being seated at 930pm was definitely not going to make due. Luckily, the movie theater said we could change our ticket times. PHEW. Anyway it took a while for the chef to come and cook for the audience. He was funny and charismatic as any hibachi chef should be. The show would have been much more fun if our group was into but we were too into catching up with each other. All four ordered chicken and steak for $20.95/pp. I would have to say that the quality of the meats were pretty good. The fried rice was a little bit too salty for me but hey i think it might be perfect amount of salt for the majority of America. GET THE YUM YUM SAUCE. It's the cream based sauce which we all just asked two of to dip our meats and mix our rices with. I had fun. It reminded me of home, not at the fact that it was hibachi but that there was a choice for types of food with experience. I'd come back with friends with no movie reservations afterward. So much food = leftovers for lunch and dinner. WIN

Came here last night for a late night dinner with a friend, and I was totally not expecting the great experience that I had! The place is a little outdated but the food is delicious. Not to mention the yum-yum sauce!?! HEAVEN. Ordered the habachi chicken, it came with a generous portion of mixed vegetables, noodles and rice (to die for). The cook was extremely funny, he was also very interactive and performed some cool tricks. Only reason this place isn't getting 5 stars is because it is slightly overpriced. Don't get me wrong, the food is great, but the inside of the restaurant is't new nor is it extravagant. Even so, next time I'm in weston and I'm in the mood for some good Japanese food, I'll definetly come here... Except next time I'll just come for lunch, which is half off what the dinner costs!

Good hibachi. The best is this part of town. Excellent place to take the kids, family or celebrate an occasion. The food is good and portions are huge. Their lunch specials are phenomenal too. My only negative is that the dinner prices are a little high. I feel rushed eating there and sometimes feel like a tourist in my own town.

Great food and ambience! The foods cooked Fresh right in front of you and the taste is just mind blowing. Of course not comparable to the real Japanese one....but the closest you can get in Florida i suppose :-)

I'm only rating on the sushi. It was mediocre at best but solid quantity and good price for lunch specials. I would recommend this is a quick stop for lunch 2ne1 if they were craving simple rolls. Sushi menu has much to be desired. But, it does seem that the hibachi was really well received by all in attendance.

When it comes to hibachi, I've only been to Benihana and one other place up in Orlando. I was so impressed by Japan Inn and how much more flavorful their food was than Benihana that I just don't see myself ever going anywhere else in South Florida for hibachi. I had never even heard of Japan Inn before, but some friends wanted to get together here, and so I made the long journey to Weston. Holy cow, this place is hard to find. I drove around for a good 10 minutes before I finally spotted it next to Chase. Heads up: if you use a GPS, it's nowhere near where the GPS says it will be. We walked in and were quickly seated... although to be fair, a reservation probably is recommended, since the place was packed on my next visit. We started with the clear soup, which is delicious (although it could use a little salt), and a side salad with ginger dressing. Our chef then arrived, and he was very entertaining and funny. My one friend has a toddler who is almost 2 years old, and the chef made sure he stayed amused. The fried rice was excellent and full of flavor, whereas the rice from Benihana was just bland. Most of us ordered the filet, and our orders were cooked perfectly. I'm glad I came here really hungry, because it was a TON of food. It is quite likely you'll have leftovers here. And although I usually don't care for microwaved food, the noodles and rice both re-heated rather nicely the next day. I liked this place so much after visiting with my friends that I brought my mom here a few weeks later. She and I had been to Benihana's fairly recently, and neither of us left very happy then, but she too loved Japan Inn. They even made a TON of carrots just for her since those are the only veggies she (and I) actually like. Unfortunately we had an incredibly rude family at our table who decided to cause a huge scene after a little bit of soup was accidentally spilled on one of them, and they demanded a free meal (for SIX people). The waiter and manager both apologized to them, and offered them $50 off their meal, which was more than generous considering how much they were overreacting, but they were insisting that their $100+ bill be comped entirely. The manager was completely professional and apologetic, but these people just wanted a free meal at any cost. Honestly, I'm glad they didn't give in and let that family bully them.

The value for the food is amazing! Much better quality, quantity etc. We had chicken and shrimp and shrimp and chicken at lunch for about 15 each. I uploaded a picture. The place is much better than Makoto's!

Ok I'll make excuses for most places when the service is slow when it's pack like it was tonight , but this was a little ridiculous well it started off good , till we needed drink refills and simple request like lemon and chop sticks every time we asked the server would say ok .. And never return , at one point they took the water glasses and never returned so we never got refills or chop stix , ok so who cares, the chef put on a great show his name was zen , looked like he knew his stuff and pretty funny too , now the food is ready I had lobster and shrimp and scallops , the lobster had a real bad after taste like the taste of something in the freezer too long and the shrimp was mushy no texture like imported Shrimp from Walmart , but the scallops were great , veggies and rice good too , the food reviews are good maybe they have a new kitchen manager trying to save money , but for me i would prob never return 32 or 33 a plate for a lobster that i could not eat and cheep imported shrimp no thanks .. But we wish them luck

This is one of the best hibachi places I have been to. The chef was very funny and overall very entertaining! I had the hibachi chicken, which was delicious! The food was reasonably priced. I'm planning to go back very soon and I would definitely recommend eating here.

Yummy . Was fun sat at a table with a mom & her teenage kids. They were locals. Was a lot of fun . Gave it 4 cuz from table to the bathroom my feet were sticking to the floor. When I brought it to the attention of the establishment they just shrugged m off.

Loved this place! We didn't have a reservation, but were seated immediately. Our server, Christian, made sure that all of my allergies were accommodated. He also juggled the allergies of another man at our teppanyaki table (they call it hibachi), so Christian had his hands full. The cook, Rudy, was entertaining. He had to make cook in sequence to make sure that neither my food nor the other gentleman's came in contact with allergens. As is typical of teppanyaki restos, the food is plentiful. Our meals came with soup, salad and freshly prepared fried rice. Our party had scallops, shrimp and beef dishes, all of which were tasty. We gave Rudy a separate tip from Christian's, and he looked stunned. Tip your cook!

Didn't have our reservation, giant bottle of hand sanitizer on the hosts desk, gross, bathroom disgusting, waiting and hour for out hibachi chef. Worse run restaurant I've seen in ages. Filthy behind the cook top. And in Weston??? Wow

Ya know, I've got to say that it really gets my knickers in a knot to see pissy face diners here at Japan Inn. Come on people, this man just built you a fire-breathing onion volcano! He tossed up an egg and split it perfectly in half midair and you are not going to so much as give him an ooo or an ahhh. Show a little excitement is all I'm saying. You should also show some excitement for their appropriately named yum-yum sauce.. and the fried rice because that's pretty swell too. I can't vouch for anything other than the Hibachi. I tried to order Yakisoba noodles on my last visit here.. but no such luck. I deducted a star for that Japan Inn just so you know, seeing as someone somewhere clearly did not purchase enough noodles to supply you through the week. I guess despite the screw up, alls well that ends well, because I was forced to order what was really my first choice anyhow, hibachi chicken. On a Sunday afternoon, I didn't really want to stuff my face with all the salad, rice, veggies, chicken and noodles that is shoved upon you when you order hibachi, there is just soooo much food. But who am I kidding; you never hear anyone complain that a portion size is too big. And if you go during lunch, the deal for all this food is really great. For a few cents shy of $11, you get alllll the hibachi you little heart and growing stomach can handle. Also, if you come during lunch time, the wait is not nearly even half as bad as in the evening, if there is even a wait at all. Not saying Japan Inn should be avoided at all costs for dinner, but basically Japan Inn should probably be avoided during dinner. The wait is long, you end up being seated with a random family and forced to dine with people you don't know (who might be sour puss Hibachi haters, and we don't want that, do we), and plus, the prices are jacked up. So lunch time is a win, dinner is "go at your own risk," and yakisoba noodles are still a mystery.

My friends had been raving about this place for a while so I decided to check it out. When I first walked in I was a little skeptical. I am not going to lie the place needs a makeover. Why 5 stars you ask?! That's how great the food is. Make a reservation because we waited almost an hour to be seated. The bar isn't a place were you can sit and hang out. But the drink menu is decently priced. The food... the food is just amazing. My mouth waters as I think about my dinner. You can a soup and a salad first. The cook comes to your table and he's entertaining. I know you are probably thinking Bennihanna's but don't be fooled this place is much better. My steak was cooked to perfection, yummy and flavorful. Warning there's a $10 fee to share a place but my bill wasn't too pricey. I don't give away 5 star reviews. Especially if the décor doesn't amuse me but the food at Japan Inn is worth more than 5 stars.

The best Hibachi that I've had so far. The fried rice was amazing!! It was the first time that I was able to eat fried rice without adding sauce to it. The Crab Angel was delish as well.

We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. The portions are large and we took home some of the fried rice. The tempura was done well - not greasy and light crunchy texture. Everything else - the salad, the miso soup was okay. My kids lived the cold edamame and the teriyaki salmon. Lunch wasn't crazy expensive. Will probably go back. Ambiance could use some updating and the path to the washrooms could be better smelling but this review is about the food no?

Moved here in 2003 and been going here ever since. Tang is one of the best chefs in this city they make this an enjoyable experience for the location. It's always busy so I recommend a reservation. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get so please come hungry! They also have plenty of speciality drinks that I can only find at this place. I usually enjoy taking friends I have from out of town to this restaurant. The quality of the food is great, also the sushi bar is fantastic and you will get served quickly by eating there. Parking sometimes can be an issue on busy nights. Also this is a great place for kids so if you need something out of the box to do this is a great family environment for families.

I always get the trio : chicken , steak , and shrimp! I always take leftovers and it tastes even better the next day! I absolutely love the "white sauce". The sushi is fresh and great!! Most chefs are great! (We like chefs who interact a lot).

I have never had a bad experience at the hibachi part of this place and have gone to it many times. My last visit we did sit down instead because we wanted sushi and we were left utterly disappointed. Our waitress was very cold and barely paid any mind to our table and we had to ask her for refills of drinks and extra silverware, etc. AKA she never came to check up on us. Her time with us always felt rushed as well. When we were finished eating we asked for a dessert and she became extremely annoyed and flustered and told us the kitchen closed at 3 pm and we should have told her sooner. She never told us about this random closing time so it was news to us. She hurriedly got our order and placed our check on the table simultaneously and sat at a booth while we and her other 2 tables finished up our meals, paid, and left. It did not leave a good taste in my mouth despite all the period good experiences I have had there. I would definitely suggest going and doing the hibachi, although their lunch specials at the tables are a good deal, price wise.

Hibachi is good, sushi is fresh, the interior at night is fine so you don't see the dirt. Please do not use the restrooms unless you are sick. The smell coming from the back will make you lose your appetite. If you want to eat at 7 make sure your reservation is at 6pm. Don't get me wrong the food is that good to make it a 4.

  • Vinny G.

We didn't try the teppanyaki, and maybe it is good here, but the rest leaves lots to be desired. The cooked dishes were fine, but not special. The gyoza was probably the best of the bunch, with a nice firm but not overcooked shell and a tasty filling. Both the Pad Thai and the Chicken Drunken Noodle were tasty but too sticky and dry. Salads were 95% lettuce and fine, and the Edamame was cooked well but could have used a little more salt. No problems there, but again nothing that would make you want to return.. The real downside was the sushi and rolls. The fish had none of the real fresh flavor that good sushi should have, and the rolls were too compressed. We've had some terrific sushi at many restaurants but this doesn't come close to any of them. Everyone at our table was disappointed. Overall, the prices are fair enough for the quality of the cooked items, and it's probably a safe bet if that's what you're looking for. If, however, you're looking for high quality sushi and sashimi, you will have to go elsewhere.

If I could, I would give this place 3.5 stars. It is perfectly fine for Japanese tepanyaki/hibachi cuisine. The bartender was entertaining and mixed a delicious lychee martini. The place is also a buzzing beehive of activity, with a lot of tables and not too long a wait. On a very busy night, we were seated before our cocktails were mixed. The interior looks like it has taken a lot of abuse from the high volume of traffic coming through its doors. Also, everything is fried in oil and butter; we begged our chef to spare our arteries, but he thought he was doing us a favor by dropping half a pound of butter on the grill rather than a full pound. If you read my reviews, you will see that I am highly critical of the American appetite for gluttony: Food portions are way to big, and restaurants use too much fat and sugar to flavor things up. I certainly don't want everyone to eat the same way I do (heck, I even crave Ben and Jerry's every once in a while), but I also think there is a certain monotony in the American restaurant business where everything just tastes the same... chicken, steak, fish, vegetables, cookies, cake, it's all the same when you when you smother it with butter and sugar. The food at Japan Inn is plentiful and tasty, but be warned that you will need to expand your waistline to accommodate the cuisine. Hopefully, more people educate their chefs to cut back on the fat and let the food speak for itself!

Great local Japanese restaurant. I was there last night and threw a surprise bridal shower for a friend and the staff was so helpful going along with my surprise. They were very attentive to everyone and the food and drinks were great. Never had the hibachi but I LOVE the shrimp in a blanket on the happy hour menu. They have happy hour on Sundays too!

Japan Inn has become a Christmas tradition for my coworkers and myself, and is always a good time. My wife and I eat here often and it's always great, take out or dine in. The hibachi is fantastic and goes great with the yummy sushi and some of the best Saki around! If that is not your taste, they have great Pad-Thai as well as typical Asian food for the less venturous pallets. Be sure to call ahead or make reservations, tends to be busy and for a good reason!

Overall this is a great place to eat, but today my date and I were unfortunate enough to have an extremely rude waiter. The waiter was rude and unprofessional. Japan Inn is usually a great place to eat during any occasion; however, today this particular waiter was simply having a bad day and was unwilling to take his job seriously he was extremely rude and unprofessional and he ruined the image of Japan In. For me and my girlfriend. We are going to POC just 2 minutes away and we are going to enjoy their food instead.

We went here on a Saturday night, expecting a wait. We were told 45 minutes for 2 seats at a hibachi table, so we went ahead and waited. 50 minutes later we checked because we noticed a lot of people who'd been there before us still hadn't been seated- we were told it was at least a 30 minute wait longer. We went ahead and grabbed a regular table instead, which we would've done in the first place had we known the wait would be so long. Service there was prompt and friendly. We had harumaki for an appetizer, which was delicious with a great sauce, and an eel hand roll which had 1 very small piece of eel in it- it was otherwise just rice and huge slices of cucumber. We had the hibachi chicken and hibachi steak for entrees, which were both good- the rice was not well-cooked though, it was supposed to be fried rice but it had not been cooked long enough, likely rushed because they were so busy. The vegetables and salad they came with were good. We also had pina coladas, which were flavorful. I'd go back, on a weeknight or for lunch and just grab a table in the future. The happy hour they had listed has great prices too- $4 sake martinis and margaritas, $2 beers and such, as well as $3-5 appetizers from 4:30-7:30PM. I wouldn't come back on a Friday or Saturday night again though for a hibachi table, and based on the hand roll, I wouldn't get sushi again.

I have been to Japan Inn a hand full of times and loved it, both in their Weston and Plantation locations. I convinced friends of our to go with us tonight for their first visit and tonight's experience, by far, was the worst. First of all, we had an 8:00 reservation and did not get seated until 8:45. Then while eating our food, someone at the table found hair in their rice. Unaware of this, I continued to eat my food until I found hair in my rice. Still trying to stomach the experience and enjoy my food, I tried to continue until a 3rd person found hair in their rice. We asked to speak to the manager, who in turn offered us free desert. We all said no and he turned around and offered us 20%. REALLY?? I hardly ate my food as the rice is the first to be cooked as well as the others at the table. He said the owners were out of the country and his hands were tied and was not able to do anything about the meals that had the hair. I'm sorry, this is not the first restaurant I have been to that has had an issue and the manager has ALWAYS taken care of it. But expecting me to pay for a meal that was inedible and give me 20% is ridiculous. This was the last time I will be visiting the Weston location. Words to any new goers....check you rice!!!!!

I think being one of the longest lasting restaurants in town center says a lot about this place. One of the best hibachi I've ever had. The hibachi menu is basic allowing them to focus on the core business which is providing quality food and experience to their patrons day and and day out. I have been a patron here for 10 years will be for a very long time!

They have the best Hibachi and their sushi is pretty good too!! If you want to eat good Hibachi this is the place to go.. I was going to give them 4 stars because sometimes their service is not very good, but the food is excellent so I had to keep the 5 stars.

I have really enjoyed Japan Inn for many years now, especially the Hibachi! So I decided to make it a lunch date. As soon as we got through the door, someone greeted us and walked us right to our Hibachi station. Our waitress was kind enough to let us know what drinks were tasty. We ordered the Mai Thai and Pina Colada and the drinks were delicious! So as we looked through the menu, I was shocked to see the lunch prices. The lunch prices are ridiculously cheap! So I ordered the Chicken and Shrimp Teriyaki, the Chicken Teriyaki Kids Meal for my son, and my BF ordered the steak and Shrimp Teriyaki. Then we also ordered the sushi special, the Spicy Tuna Roll and the Shrimp Tempura Roll. So as our Chef was prepping for our food to be cook, he was really nice and funny and was making jokes through out the whole meal. As the chef was cooking up on our food, I took a quick glance at everything that was on the grill and MY OH MY! It was a lot of food! The chef was getting ready to put our sauces on the sauce trays for us and I wanted only the white sauce. The white sauce is delicious! Each entree came with a soup or salad, egg fried rice, fried noodles, and grilled veggies. As he was finishing up and plating our food. I literally took 5 bites and was full! We each took home our food and it was literally a lot of food. I'm a Japan Inn fanatic! I will be visiting back soon!

First time at Japan Inn and it was a great experience. Our cook Zen was hilarious with great jokes that kept us all entertained literally the whole time. The Filet Steak is the way to go with a side of terriaki. There were even a few tricks Zen (our cook) did that I have not seen before. I will return!

Get ready for a lot of good if you choose hibachi . They make it a fun atmosphere cooking at the table and joking around. This is a good place to go if you have a larger group as well. Food is great and its an overall fun vibe.

This was the worst dining experience of my life. If I was dining alone, you could think I was crazy, but my party of 4 all agreed. Our server was very unprofessional. Why? For starters when she took our orders she said, "OK, I'll have your food out in one hour", then she laughed and said, "I'm just kidding". We all thought that was an odd joke to say to customers. Well, we didn't see her again until 60 minutes after that comment (almost to the minute) when she walked by us and said, "don't worry, they're making it". We were enjoying ourselves with friends and talking and that's why we put up with such a long wait for the food. We waited until 9:00 (now 1 hour and 20 minutes after ordering) until I went to the Manager, his name is Eddie, to tell him what was happening. He listened, but it didn't seem to phase him. He looked at us and said that it was horrible and that he could not believe that this had happened. That's it! They ruined an evening for 4 people and did absolutely nothing about it. If it were me, in order to not lose 4 customers for life, I would make it up to them. Invite us back another night for dinner on him. A small gesture like that could pay itself back 10 fold (or much more). I take clients out to eat often and we dine out with friends just as much, but I can assure you of one place that I will never visit again...Japan Inn. Thank God there is Yelp!

I have enjoyed Japan Inn for many years now. It is a fun restaurant with hibachi stations. The restaurant is always packed on the weekend so it is recommended to make a reservation; especially for a hibachi table. I prefer to order sushi every time I go to Japan Inn. It is not the best sushi I have ever had, but it is still good. They do, however, have one of my favorite rolls here. It is the hot tuna crunch roll and it tastes so good. They used to have the predecessor to that roll known as the tuna sandwich in which it was served between two triangles of rice made to look like bread for a sandwich. Sadly they do not serve that one anymore, but the hot tuna crunch is not far off. If you order in the afternoon then make sure to take advantage on their great lunch time prices. Everything that I have tried here has been very good. They prepare the fish very well, and even the curry dishes are tasty. On my goal to try different cultural foods I can say that I have tried Japanese food.

Came here on a Friday night with a large group and had a great time. Reservations are a must. We sat at the hibachi grill and were not disappointed. The show, even though it has not changed over the 10+ years we have been going here, is a real crowd pleaser. Food was good and plentiful as always. Always happy and full when we leave here.

Visiting from out of town & had a really great time here tonight. We were seated immediately and the service was very good. Generally, I think the menu is way too long, but there is certainly something for everyone. The food was good and the value was amazing. I was shocked at how much food they offer on the combination dinners for under $20. You will not leave hungry! Also, definitely a fan of the lychee martini.

Japan inn is amazing, everything in their menu is always so fresh and delicious, their house salad is amazing and everyone is always so nice, I love their lunch and dinner specials and especially their mexican rolls ! Yummmm! Japan inn is the best sushi place in Weston, even compared to the "all you can eat" garbage sold in the area. Japan inn is quality sushi for a low price, love it!

When your not quite yet 4-year-old turns to you and actually says, "Heeebatchi for Mama? Say Whaaaat????" -- you know "Mama" is not big on the whole Japanese hibatchi flaming table thing. But, when you have no intentions of cooking dinner and want your kids to be entertained while you sip on a well deserved, end of a long day Lemon Drop -- Fire is good. This place is in Weston Town Center. Nothing spectacular to report. Hibachi tables, regular tables, sushi bar. Ample space. Lots of parking. It's basically the neighborhood hibachi place. But the sushi is surprisingly fresh and buttery. There is nothing magical on the menu. The specialty rolls have 'mayo' (No mayo for Mama.) But the mayo-less, simple, classic rolls like the hamachi with scallion and unagi are very tasty and fresh. The hibachi menu - shrimp, chicken and steak - veggies, fried rice. it is what it is. Fresh cuts, but nothing to light my fire. The service is always very attentive, I have to say. And the chef who tossed flaming shrimp at my almost-four-year old's mouth tonight gets extra points for keeping him happy and occupied while I quietly sipped my tasty miso soup. Not that I noticed or anything, but they have a very comprehensive specialty drinks menu - lots of interesting martinis and fruity concoctions from which to choose. I guess if you enjoy watching a flaming onion volcano erupt before your very eyes, or like catching shrimp in your mouth like a trained seal - this place would make for a fun night - in Weston Town Center-- on a Wednesday. Friendly hibachi table waitress: "Another Lemon Drop?" Happy mommy: "Domo arigato" Almost four year old: "Say whaaaat??"

Terrible experience ! There was a bug on the 300 page menu. We sat and waited with our 1 year old for over 20 minutes without having a waiter even come ask us if we wanted drinks. When we got a waiter and she asked for our drink order and we were ready to order food, she said ok , walked away and proceeded to get the order tables complete order. When I approached the manager he wasn't even apologetic. Walked out without eating! Worse service ever.

I wasn't that impressed with this place, but I was craving sushi, and it was in the area. The decor is plain and outdated, and the inside could use some renovations, but I was more curious to see how the food quality was going to be. We ordered the chicken lettuce wraps as an appetizer, which was alright. The leaves were wiliting a bit, but the chicken was tasty, and the sauce that accompanied it was sweet and complimented it well. I ordered the crispy crunch roll as my main dish, and it was also just okay. For $10 I expected a better presentation and better flavor, but I still ate it. My friend ordered the Miami hurricane roll and wasn't impressed with his food either. Note: They have a happy hour menu from 4:30 to 7:30, but it is a very small selection and consists of just the basic plain rolls and simple cocktails.

This is the Japanese restaurant that I grew up with. Started at the Japan Inn in Plantation, but after the Weston Town Center location opened - it was closer. I've lived in NYC and tried all the top sushi restaurants, but always find myself comparing the food to Japan Inn. For the value, I don't think you could get a better cut of fresh fish. Yes, the wait is long, so have a reservation if you come. It'll save a LOT of time. If I find myself back in the area and wanting to go without a reservation, it's fine as long as I don't want to sit on the hibachi side. Short waits for the regular non-cooking tables. And though I think the hibachi food is delicious, it's so much food that I end up walking out just too full. I've tried a lot of things here, sushi is definitely my favorite. Thai is delicious and authentic. Lots of variety to choose from which can be overwhelming. Seems like they always have something new to try also. Here's some of my favorites: Lobster Roll - My absolute crave-able favorite. Huge chunks of lobster in a sushi roll that's crispy on the outside. Also comes garnished with another lobster tail! I figure there's at least two lobsters in my one dish, so good. Pad Thai - yum! Salmon Carpaccio - Great combination of flavors, a step up from tuna tataki, and tastes so fresh Panang Curry - perfectly seasoned and a huge portion! Green Dragon Roll - layered with delicious avocado with a nice satisfying crunch Volcano Chicken - sweet, savory, always a winner Sashimi Deluxe - comes full of fresh fish and two mixed appetizers, absolutely love one - the conch, octopus, cucumber mix. oh my. The bartender also makes a great drink. If you want something strong - try the Tokyo Destroyer. Overall, a great place. Food is tops. Service can go either way, depending on how busy it is. Once you get to your table, it's all worth it.

Decent sushi. Good for a quick lunch as they have quite a few lunch specials like 3 pieces of nigiri sushi and a roll for $8.95. Comes with a soup or salad as well. Again, not much to say except that the sushi is decent... They also have hibachi which I have yet to try, so may need to do that update my review from there!

For a place called "Japan" Inn, they have pretty decent Thai food. The portion is generous, and I had the left over for lunch the next day. The hibachi part of the restaurant seemed very busy, but the two times I went, I went for the Thai food, so you get seated right away at table seats. The happy hour menu seemed good too, but never had a chance to try.

My first time at Japan Inn was a bit of a whirlwind. Went for my significant other's birthday with 30+ people. They were sort of accommodating for a Friday night, considering we phoned in our reservation that Wednesday. The food was delicious and the show was fun. The drinks are VERY strong!

I must say that after all I heard about this place from, I was a bit disappointed. After having waited for one person to arrive so that they could sit our party, we ordered our drinks. I ordered a simple soda that one would imagine would have been the simple yet after everyone got their drinks I was still waiting for mine. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai for dinner and even though the portion sizes where good, the food seemed to lack flavor.

As others have noted on Yelp, Japan Inn takes more reservations than it can attended to. Thus upon arrival on New Years Eve, the conversations such as "we have been here over an hour" and "all of these people have reservations" can be overheard by the irate crowd in the lobby. We all were clearly being suckered into a long evening of waiting for tables that were not really reserved. But instead we were simply suckered into a nasty trick to squeeze as much cash from unsuspecting diners. filling tables with no respect for their customers. And the mediocre food did not compensate for such sorry treatment. Fool me once, but never twice.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. I've been coming here for a few years now. I always eat at the bar and just order right from the chef's. I always sit on the end and talk with Titi. The staff there is very friendly and always remembers our drink orders. The chef's are very nice and Titi asks and remembers stories from the last time I visited. We love laughing and joking with him and the owner Hori. They're all great people and the sushi is fantastic! I've also ordered some thai food which was good it's just not my style of food. The deserts are great as well. I recommend the tempura cheesecake!

To start we were told a 20 min wait and it ended up being over an hour! Then when we were finally seated, the party of 8 at our table had 3 babies and crammed everyone in when we all did not fit. Not a good start to our first time here. But once the server came and the food started, our experience brightened!! Service was great and habachi was so delicious! Will make a reservation next time!!

I've been to several of these Hibachi-style restaurants and compared to the rest, this one didn't stand out in any special way; good or bad. Our hibachi chef was nice, but didn't show off any of his special skills. I think it may have been because we were only 4 people sitting at the table. But regardless, he should've made a good impression no matter how many people are eating there. I split a shrimp and scallops combo lunch with my brother and the serving was pretty small. They definitely went overboard with the rice (figured you'll get full on the rice first and then not complain about the fact that they only serve 5 medium to small-sized shrimp and 4 scallops). Our waitress was nice, but a little confusing. When we ordered our lunch, we had the choice of either soup or salad. I asked for soup, while my brother asked for salad. She said only one was allowed and that we could order the other as a side dish. So I went to ask her "What did you already write down, soup or salad?" She didn't seem to understand me and replied with "soup or salad." My brother and I started laughing because we were all a bit confused. She ended up brigning us 2 salads and 1 soup. Oh well, it was good.

Had dinner with my wife here on Saturday. First time here came because of the yelp reviews. Great family dining with great service and tasty food. We didn't go for the Hibachi because there was a huge wait time so we decided to go with the standard fare. We both ordered drinks, my wife got a Bikini Martini which was really good and I ended up ordering the Drunken Monkey. the Drunken Monkey was really good with plenty of alcohol in it but it was a bit filling. I started off the meal with Fried Wahoo this was really good considering i ate the whole plate. BTW there were only 8 small pieces in there so It was just the right size for an appetizer. We then followed that with the salad with Ginger dressing which surprisingly was really a bit different. We noticed that it was a bit sweet which was really interesting and tasteful. My wife ordered the Fillet Mignon Stir fry which was really good and that dish came with a side of vegetable fried rice. She really enjoyed it allot. I had the Steak and Shrimp stir fry which like my wife's dish it was really tasty. We ended the meal with a Tempura Ice Cream that we shared. This was also good but could have used a bit more chocolate on it. Only drawback is the temperature in the restaurant. It's a bit warm in there because of all the Hibachi grills going on in there. They might have to revisit there AC system. Besides that we will definitely be back the menu is huge and there are quite a few things we want to try.

I got here at 8 pm and placed my order at 8:45. By 9:55 I have not seen my food yet. The food itself was way overrated, for example, we ordered a mango salmon and the dish was no more than an overcooked salmon filet with a quarter diced mango on top! This will be my last time coming to this place.

It is one of those places where they cook the food in front of you. The place is showing its age, but the food was good and very reasonable priced. By far better then benihana's.

Love japan inn. Something for everyone at this nice local joint. It gets busy so arrive early or reserve. This is my go to spot for Japanese in Weston. Friendly staff and kid friendly. Bartender is a great guy so even if you go for just a quick drink and some sashimi, you are in great hands.

The restaurant needs a makeover, but the food is pretty good. The place is dark and smells like fried oil because they have a rug and tepanyaki tables. This place serves sushi, tepanyaki, and thai food. It feels a little like a sports style restaurant with the neon lights and tv in the booth/table areas. I had some sushi and pad thai. Both were good. Service was good. I recommend this place if you want a quick meal and tasty japanese food.

We arrive like 9pm, the wait for a Teppanyaki Table was 1 hour and 45 minutes, since we were hungry we decided to sit at a regular table. The menu is huge!!! They offer sushi, japanese and thai food. Our server was cute....thick accent but was super pleasant and pretty funny!! Overall, ur food was very good. the portions very very generous. The sushi was super fresh!! I had the curry chicken which I found to be excellent. My boyfriend had the Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura which was a BIG serving and good. My godparents had the Ginger Chicken and the NY Steak with Stir Fried Vegetables - they were very pleased. And now the Grand Finale............the Thai Donuts were to die for!!! Wow.....I have to go back there just for the Thai Donuts!!!

I really enjoy this place. I have come here a bunch of times. I suggest you bring a group of people with you so, you don't sit with people you don't know (unless u like that). I found the atmosphere to be on point, the place is clean and the service is pretty good. I find they give you alot more food then other places just like it. I usually get the chicken and I'm always happy with the meal and all the stuff they give you. The tuna appitizer is very good. I would only complain about the madness and confusion on a weekend night here. The hosts don't seen to be able to handle it. But overall, check this place out. You'll be happy you did!

nothing special. the waiter didn't even know the difference between american and Japanese beer and this place was a Japanese restaurant! oh, yeah, way too many kids, and since it is a hibachi restaurant the place smells like oil

This is one of our regular stops. We go here once a week or so and have never been disappointed. We eat off the sushi / Thai menu and have not tried the hibachi. The sushi is always good. Some recommendations would include the spicy tuna app., the hot tuna crunch roll, the Panang curry and they have a meal that includes 9 sashimi, 5 sushi, a main dish like the Panang curry, pad thai, fried shrimp, or a few others plus the meal includes edamame, fruit and half a California roll. It's a lot of good food for under $20. Staff is amazing and always friendly to us. We always have a good time when we go here.

We liked the food and the attention very much. Just one detail... we are from Argentina where you normally tip 10%. We knew here it was a bit more, so we went to near 15%. The waiter (a woman in her mid forties or early fifties with short black hair, oriental) who had been EXTREMELY nice all night all of a sudden changed her face and gave us the most horrible look when she saw the tip. I said good by, thank you when leaving the table and she looked at me with hate and did not answer. I hope the manager or owner are reading this review... that really made me not want to return.

hmm, let's see.... this one is very mixed. Large Asian menu that has both sushi, rolls, sashimi and thai dishes. They also do hibachi - we didn't try that but it looked very tempting and popular. At first we sat at the sushi bar but the lighting wasn't conducive to a Friday night date - a bit glaring for the cooks but not the guests. So we sat at a very small table right next to a loud and obnoxious guy and his poor companions who actually apologized for his lack of courtesy. But I digress, the food was delicious. We had a Tempura Japanese Roll which was the star. Also had a crunchy mexican roll but there wasn't any hint of a spicyness to it so I found that one a bit lacking but quite edible. And lastly a spider roll, very good, but not noteworthy. The staff was right on us while we tried to decide and then again when the bill came. The only problem I need to report is our second serving of Sake came with a generous serving of dish soap and I nearly had to spit it out. I'm sure this was a rare mistake by someone but it was quite vile! They did take it off the bill afer minimum bickering but it would have been best if they had offered it gratis right up front to make up for the error. Will go back and try some of their other specialities. Was crowded and lively - got a seat right away.
