I went with a group of six for probably the fifth time in the last two years. As always the food was great. The ribs were tender and not overly smothered with sauce. They have a variety of bbq sauces on the table if you want to add to them. The highlight of the meal was the okra. It was breaded and fried to perfection. It comes with a ranch dipping sauce that adds the right touch. If you like spicy food ask for the ranch and buffalo sauce. It's not too spicy, but it's delicious! The service was great-really polite and sweet ladies. The price was great too. Our bill was about $80 for a group of six. I would highly recommend it!

Stopped in for a quick take out dinner. I walked in just after 8:30 on a Sunday, when many other places were closed or closing. We wanted to have something quick to take back home, since we were out past dinnertime. I asked about quick food, and was told everything is pretty quick. So, a shrimp salad and onion rings were our dinner. We waited about 20 minutes for our food, which was excessive for fried food and lettuce! The fried shrimp and onion rings were nearly cold, though it did take almost 15 minutes to drive home, crack open the packages and start eating, so this isn't a great measure. The lettuce was extremely limp, again possibly for being in with the shrimp for nearly 15 minutes. Flavors were nothing special, and the food did taste like it may have been ready quite a bit before picking it up. We may come back for the ribs or other BBQ some time, but do not recommend the fried foods, especially for take out.

We had lunch at Rib City. We both had the lunch special, a full slab of ribs and two sides for $13.99. The ribs were very good, not fatty like some and served on a hot plate. I hate getting hot food on a cold plate. The sides I had were coleslaw and baked beans. My wife had coleslaw and fries. They were all good. Our waitress was friendly and quick. We'll be back !!!

I had not been back here in a long time and was really in the mood for some great ribs. I had a coupon for a free appetizer and my friend and I decided on the fried OKRA. OMG, was that heavenly - next time I come here, I will start with the Okra, coupon or not!!!! We both ordered a full rack of ribs. My sides consisted of a Baked Potato as well as BBQ baked beans. Everything delicious as can be. My friend also ordered the full rack but chose the corn and the BBQ beans as her sides. We were both very happy with our choice. Our server Kimberly did an excellent job, and I will not wait that long next time to return. It was a great meal!!!!

Just got home from here and due to my desire to write this prompt of a review I think everyone reading this could gather that this place is AWESOME! The ribs fell off the bone as expected and their array of sauces are great. Homemade baked beans and homemade coleslaw. Mmm mmm good mmm mmm good, thank you rib city that was mmm mmm good! On a side note our waitress michelle was extra pleasant. And on Wed they have 25 cent beers. A real mug of beer too! Not some tiny little plastic circus cup. I wish I lived around here to get some more of this tasty BBQ!

Awesome ribs! Excellent pork and chicken all around. Quick service, hot food. Only wish they had outside dining! Best BBQ south of SC.... Meat is NOT smothered in sauce you can select one of their sauces (several to choose) or eat'em naked with just the seasonings used to cook'em.

Great smoked ribs. We found this place last year when we saw an advertisement and started making fun of it. They'll and behold we are at target and driving down the road and see it. So, we pull in and give it a try. Ribs were excellent. Fried okra was also. We just went back last night on vacation and decided to give it another go. Ribs where just as good if not better, the baked beans are awesome if you like molasses. No, they don't have health food. As the name implies it is Rib City. The waitresses both times where awesome. A definite must eat if you like slow smoked ribs.

Decided to see what the "a la carte full rack of baby rack ribs" for $12.99 was like and it was a terrible decision. If this was a full rack, it was that of a mouse. The portion size was absolutely terrible. It wasn't even enough for one person. Will not go here again.

Was very pleased with the ribs and side dishes. Not so much with the server. Waited and waited for our check and it never came. Finally we went to the register and told the cashier what we ordered and she made a bill out. We will go back again because the food was very good and hope for a better server. Would have given four stars on the food alone.

Drab interiors, food is typical rib joint fare - at best. The slaw was way too sweet, the chicken on the dry side. You have to ask for water. I know that a rib place is not known for its health food, but they could at least try with a salad option and less sugar in the souses.

Edit: I updated my review to give Rib City 5 instead of 4 stars. For a strip mall eatery I was very impressed with what Rib City offered. The first night we dined here I would give the service 5 stars, the food 3.5. The second night I would give the service 3.5/4 and the food 5 so I settled on a score of 4 overall. The decor is dated, the aroma is sweet BBQ smoke, the seating, comfortable. No problems with that. I recall the music being a confusing mix, but not in a bad way. Both times we were seated very promptly and offered drinks immediately and brought very quickly. The first visit I ordered draft beer by the glass but realized that the pitcher is a much better deal, and even leaving beer behind I still came ahead with the pitcher. The first night we visited the waitress was VERY accommodating to our 21 month old boy. The second night the waitress was accommodating as well but not to the extent of the first waitress. I'd chalk up the slight difference in service to how busy it was on the two different nights, but not to take away from how well the first waitress served us even if she was not busy. I wish I could recall both of their names as they should be given the positive feedback. OK, so the food. The first night I ordered a full rack of ribs with beans and half a corn on the cob as my sides. I recall this meal was either $19.99 or $16.99, either way, a steal of a deal. The ribs were really good! So tender, fall off the bone but not sloppy fall off the bone, which is bad. They could stand being picked up but gives into a bite if you know what I mean. The beans were terrific, every bean tender but not a mushy mess. The sauce was a perfect consistency. I added some of the hot BBQ sauce to the beans and also coated my ribs with a mix of the original and hot sauce - I highly suggest this mix but try them all out. The second night I ordered a special that was ribs another meat and two sides. I think this was somewhere around the same price range as the first night. I picked beef as my side, so juicy and tender! I used the same BBQ mix as the previous night on the ribs and the beef. The difference between this night and the previous night is that the ribs were absolutely perfect. I have made ribs countless times at home and consider myself a great BBQ cook. I've never made them this good, ever. So yeah, if you're looking for great prices on some darn good BBQ, in a funny location, check out Rib City in Venice.

World class BBQ. Do yourself a favor and get the full rack of baby back ribs. I got the pick two with turkey, ribs, beans, coleslaw, and sweet tea. Everything was outstanding. Again, I am sad leaving because I wished I would have gotten a full rack instead of 1/2. Normally a half is plenty, but the ribs are not as meaty as some other places. No complaints about that, but don't be shy when ordering!
