Disclaimer - I am a wing aficionado. I have had wings all over the country and have been lucky enough to find AAA level wings. Bogey's wings are very good. Plump and moist and cooked to perfection... even when ordering "crisp" as I usually do. I had an order of HOT and an order of Cajun. I liked both very much but the cajun were especially flavorful. I also ordered the "as HOT as it gets" sauce on the side. That stuff is insane! My next trip, I plan to punish myself and get a small order of those wings. That had a very good Oktoberfest on tap too!

My first visit but this place is very promising. Excellent burgers and very attentive and friendly staff. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu. Two thumbs up!

Excellent. Best burgers in town. And relatively inexpensive. Bogeys brew can't be beat. Cheap. $2.99 for two pints. Ice cold beer. And the people that work here are super friendly. Definitely one of our favorites. We come back often.

We have been in the search of good wings for months and I have to say theirs are pretty good. We also tried the Buffalo Chicken dip which was good, could use a little more kick but good. We will definitely be back.

Bogeys is one of the few places open in Venice past 9pm, therefore at some point or another you will end up there if you are not in a coma or bussed back to your assisted living facility. The food and service at Bogeys is unmatched in inconsistency. The wings might be crispy and perfectly tossed in the sauce on Monday, and completely undercooked and sopping like a sponge on Friday. The same can be said for the service, attentive waitress who provides quick and efficient service refills or you get the old blonde waitress who double drops checks and depends on the hostess to refill your drinks. When its all said in done its basic bar food that pretty much anyone can find something and enjoy. Be warned that they will nickel and dime your bill for ranch, hot sauce, mayo etc...

Got into town late at night and they were the only place we could find serving food after 1030pm. Great sports bar atmosphere, friendly staff, and good bar food. I got the burger, it was perfectly cooked medium rare and she got the Philly wrap which was stuffed full with meat and cheese and was plenty to have for lunch the next day.

Fast, personal, service. Well trained servers and assured attention from management. Real handmade NY style pizza the way pizza is expected to be. They don't fool around with trends but still carry everything you could want on an old fashioned real pizza. I LOVE pizza and I'm an anchovy fan and yes you can still get them here even if you only want it on part of your pie. Beer and drinks are good and always cold. A fun atmosphere and a great place to meet up on a date night or with a whole round of family or friends. I've been coming here for years and now the next couple of generations are making it a must. When we go out for pizza this is the place I want to go.

Summary - Decent bar food with TV's, decent tap selection. Food 3.5 stars. - It's bar food so you get what you get, and they do it well. Wings are good ( A must in my mind for sports bar) and I get the philly often. Lots of places mess up the basics but Bogey's does it well. The consistency is good, which is a big accomplishment in the restaurant game. For what it is, I like to come here when I just want some bar food, burgers, beer and watch a sporting event. Service 4 stars - The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere good. I've been to several of the Bogey's and I'd say the same of each.

After a long, sunburnt day on the water, Bogeys is the perfect place to wind down. My boyfriend and I were looking for a laidback place with good service, beer and good food and we found that at Bogeys! This sports grill is the ideal place to mingle with friends, enjoy a cold one and watch the game. My only disappointment in the surroundings was I couldnt find a TV with the Olympics on! Everyone was focused on the Rays game, which is expected in a city close to Tampa. I was in one of those moods where I was hungry, but had no idea what I wanted! And with an extensive menu like Bogeys, it was hard to make a decision. Their cheesy appetizers sounded delicious and their grilled sandwiches were very tempting! I finally settled on the Chipotle Ranch Pizza. A huge fan of chipotle and ranch, I was hoping this sports grill would do its description justice...a boy did it ever! The crust was the perfect amount of crunchy, the cheese stringy and the toppings were plentiful. Covered in peppers, chicken, tomatoes, bacon and a creamy chipotle ranch drizzly, this pizza hit the spot! The 8inch was also the perfect size for one person and the small slices made it easy for others at the table to try your concoction. If I ever find myself in Venice again, I will be sure to go back!

Nice sports bar, and good food. Service varies, most of the staff is young, some with attitude. I do like that they have TVs at every booth, and you can control them yourself. The outside seating is nice, all though other than facing a big screen, your also facing Venice Ave, a very busy road. Parking is poor, wish they would expand.

Food was great, sport package was awesome, service was good...bad part is that we took home a quart of soup and it blew up on my foot....it was really hot and it smelled great, but I will live...

Just a typical Sports Bar. Food is O.K. for a Sports Bar. Wings were poor. Beer was not very cold. I think people order pizza here because notyhing elce is very good?

Went again on Saturday night. Since it is not season, it is not crazy crowded, but they were still busy. Our group was a private function, and had reserved the entire patio. Luckily there were no cigar smokers. There was a set menu for us of pizza, chips and salsa. On all accounts, Bogey's knocked it out of the park. I have never had pizza there. Who knew? Bogey's pizza is great. Crust is perfect, toppings first class and sauce fabulous. The sauce tastes like it is made by the restaurant from fresh ingredients. Really good. I talked to the manager, and he told me the salsa is made fresh on premises. That is obvious as their salsa is fantastic. I could have eaten a bowl of it with a spoon. One thing about Florida in the summer - it is hot and humid. The patio has misters that reduce the heat which is welcomed. But it increases the humidity. As a result, the chips don't stay crisp very long. Not Bogey's fault - just a Florida thing.

A popular hangout that is usually packed at night and when popular sporting events air. The food is inconsistent and has gone downhill a bit since we've been coming here. Beer is ice cold, which makes it a decent place to watch sports and down a pitcher or two with friends, though the pitchers have an icing unit which makes it appear you are getting a huge pitcher when, in fact, you are not.

I used to enjoy Bogeys, but the last time I was there it was terrible. It has new management and I am not impressed. Greasy . . . April 2010. You will notice that most of the reviews to date say something to the effect that 'when I used to live there' - they apparently have not been there since the place was taken over by the new management team - I 'used' to like it too - not any longer. Probably a good spot if you are going to watch a game and drink beers and order an appetizer -

This review discusses the Venice Bogey's. Bogey's gets three stars because it does well as what it is - a sports bar. Do not go there looking to be served fantastic food. The food is what it is - bar food. Greasy, nothing special. There are more than enough TVs, so you shouldn't have any problem finding the game you are looking for. The problem I have with Bogey's is that the service borders on being lousy. The reason? They employ high school girls who are more interested in commingling than serving. Seeing a manager on the floor is a rarity. If you are going to employ young girls, than you need to oversee them. I am sure they would do a fine job if they were properly trained and supervised, but apparently that is not the case.

I heart Bogeys. My fav restaurant in Venice when we lived there. Venice doesn't have many restaurants that we would frequent on the regular, but Bogey's was the exception. I won't lie, we love the tv's in the booth because they distract the kids and allow us grown folk to have a decent meal once in awhile. The menu is varied so you aren't limited to just wings and beer (unless thats your bag). I have tried lots of different things on the menu but my hand-down fav is the Buffalo Chicken Salad. Nom Nom. Service is fine - never really had a bad experience, and considering how crazy busy it always is, I think they do a bang-up job.

If you see this place keep driving, espeically if you plan to eat anything! It would be a great place to drink beer and watch a game, and maybe a greasy appetizer, but it ends there. We went here because of all the TV's and thought the food would be OK. Boy were we wrong! My husband and I got the fish sandwich which was completely bread with not one view of fish in sight. My daughter got soup which was like melted velveeta cheese in a bowl and unedible. It was sickening, greasy, and gross! McDonalds looks like a gourmet restaurant compared to the slop served here.

OK if you like a loud sports bar with TV's at every table. This way you and your husband can go out to eat and he can watch TV and you don''t have to talk.

Loved this place. Went with a group of people and had a great time. Sat outside and had a great meal. A fun place to go

Bogey's was great for an early evening meal. Football and golf were on every TV, but it wasn't too loud or crowded where you couldn't talk. The bogey bread is awesome! I'm not usually a fan of appetizers but I could have ordered three plates of bogey bread and not had an entre! I got one of their specials which was a loaded chicken wrap. I was happy with it, except it was a lot more black beans than anything else. It could have used more of the chipotle ranch. Overall it was a great experience and I certainly would return or recommend it to a friend.

Jacqueline (below) is absolutely right: there are an obscene amount of televisions in this restaurant. It's one thing to have TV's all over the walls, but a tiny television in each booth? It's like a sports-themed shrine to the God of Television. The chicken wings are, in my opinion, the best in the city of Venice, if not the entire county. They are fresh, lightly dusted in flour and fried to order, and the variety of sauces you can choose from are all delicious, particularly the garlic parmesan. I am a "plus sized" boy, and I never leave the place hungry. The burgers are good and then some, a half pound, chargrilled. The pizza isn't my favorite, but it is hand made and baked to order, and most people I know love it. And, you wouldn't expect it for a sports grill, but the salads are all phenomenal. And I rarely use the word "phenomenal." The only reason I didn't give this a 5-star rating is that the service can be a little spotty. Am I too demanding? Possibly. But, it's impossible as far as I've seen to get in and out of the place within the confines of an hour-long lunch break because the service is just too slow. Other than that, if you're in the mood to relax and enjoy some unpretentious food: there is no better place in Venice.

I used to live in Venice and Bogey's was definitely the place to go for a good sports bar. They have delicious food and a great atmosphere. I always got the chicken wrap, but the wings are awesome too.

We came here during the playoffs, it was crowded, but that's to be expected. It's a great sports bar with good sports bar food. The fish and chips were great. Unfortunately our server was very rude. My boyfriend made a joke about getting asked for our id and she was very rude and defensive. Not very attentive with the beer or water. Good for relaxed game watching.

There are over 35 TVs in this place. The booths each have their own screen which you can control and they have large screens to air a big game (or multiple, considering the number of TVs they boast). They have fight nights, happy hours (3-6pm) and are open until midnight. The food is really quite good- they are famous for thier burgers, wings and pizza, and have a huge selection of beer on tap. The managers are really laid back and they really get to know their returning customers. This place gets busy!
