I ordered chicken picatta to go and my review is simple... DELICIOUS!!!! I had the option to swap out the heavy pasta for veggies. I'm so pleased with this. The lemon caper sauce is so robust and flavorful I was actually shocked. The Togo order was packages in 4 separate containers: one for the chicken, one for vegetables, one for salad (which came drowning in dressing-my one complaint), and some soft, FRESH baked bread. Next up on my list is the Marsala!

We popped in for the first time and I fell a little in LOVE. Luckily there are a some really good Italian places (Cafe Paradiso, Donatelllo's, my fave - Bernini of Ybor) in Tampa and each has its own charm. Vino e Pasta is the classic trattoria - that casual neighborhood jewel, just down the alley and around the cobblestoned corner you DREAM of finding when traveling thru Italy. An authentic vibe: welcoming & cozy, buzzing & attentive staff, live pianist that had my singing under my breath (and sometimes out loud), and perfectly delicious with every bite. Not overwhelming or trying to be something it's not. Me: Veal Milannese, house salad and Pinto Grigio. Him: Chicken Picatta, house salad and water (boooooo!). Us : Brushetta (complementary when seated), fresh bread w pesto, Mussels & Clams in a divine Diavolo. Happy night. Vino e Pasta, grazie e chi vediamo subito! Thank you and I'll be seeing you soon!

Very nice wine bottle selection at only $24.95 a bottle. We had a nice Cabernet Sauvignon. The bread and pesto was fresh and delicious. We weren't sure what to order but a couple next to us got filets and we were sold I got the Filet with Vodka sauce and a side of the pasta of the day. Which happened to be rigatoni with Princess Sauce. Both the filet and the pasta were fabulous. They also brought a small salad for a starter which was nice. My boyfriend got the filet with the Gorgonzola and he loved it. I thought it was a little rich but good for a cream sauce. For dessert, we got the chocolate cake, which was alright. Nothing special. All around the food was good and the service was pretty decent. A lot of customers seemed to be regulars and know the main guy, I assume was the owner. All in all I would go back and try other dishes, everything that came out looked really good. Everything was great.

What a pleasant experience! After reading reviews, my fiancee and I decided to give Vino E Pasta a try. We went on a Friday night and did not have a reservation. The owner greeted us at the door and asked for our reservation. After realizing that we did not have one, he asked us to wait for a minute and let him check the list. He came back and explained that they were fully booked, but that is a party of two did not show in the next 15 mins, we could have their table. They did not show and we were set. The apps were delicious and the entrees fantastic. Attentive waitstaff(including the owner) and incredible food make this a return visit for sure.

Very nice and italian homey, like I was at my sicilian Aunts house dining. I was greeted warmly, and directed to a seat. I enjoyed the menu, plenty of favorites, and a free form pasta section. All wines were about the same price, so you can enjoy the vintages without thinking about price. The chicken marsala was excellent. My pasta puttanesca would make any good girl go bad. Salads were great and there are nice little touches. Here have some bruschetta while you order, then at the end some creme puffs. Other dishes at other tables looked great. One ding, service was a bit slow. The owner (?) took over the table to please us, since the waiter was bogged at two large table of older folks.

By far the best Italian restaurant. Been here twice after discovering this gem in south Tampa about 2 months ago. The owner knows how to run business. Very attentive. I recently came back from Italy and every time I come here reminds me of my trip. The waiters are great. We are def going to speak with the owner to have them cater our wedding I recommend the chicken vino e pasta. Amazing!

One of the best restaurants in the Bay area. The owner is a great guy and the staff are very professional. Pleasant atmosphere, quaint ambience and the menu varies to the point where you can't wait to go back. . .

This place is amazing every time! Don't let the location fool you. We have had a few different servers all of which were extremely knowledgeable and attentive. They have a very extensive menu so there are always different options to try. My absolute favorite is tortellini with the pink princess sauce, and I would be content eating no other pasta dish for the rest of my life. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try, you will be blown away!

I was out of options and this place was on my right. I must admit the look is kinda what you find in BROOKLYN. A mish-mosh look of signs and Vinly letters with awnings and a bunch of busy on a busy road. The greeting was authentic and Italian (I think) we were sat immediately. Bread was kinda stale and not appetizing. The waiter was less the enthusiastic and kinda of dismissive. Meatballs were pathetic microscopic and size of tiny rat tirds in the Luke warm wedding soup. Eggplant Rollitina was tiny put gooey and creamy. Not enough crisp so it was like slop. Apps of fried zucchini and calamari was not fried enough or too fried. They claim the pastas are homemade but I call bullsh#*! Carbonara Decent on flavor but light on pancetta. What was in there was fatty and not crisped. Total lack of effort by the kitchen on all fronts. The stacked usps boxes and other assorted crap on way to bathroom shoes where the owners mind and heart is. Do yourself a favor and don't turn in like I did.

I guess things change... Vino had the very best chicken marsala ever. However the other day we went , the marsala source was thinner and had hardly any mushrooms. What was most surprising and disturbing was that one of the portions of the chicken was large and my other guest's was very small. The Chef should never have allowed that to leave the kitchen. Also noted was a a very soft penne not expected from a true Italian restaurant. Hopefully this was an isolated experience.

Finally found a quaint, family run Italian restaurant in Tampa with excellent food and service in Tampa. However, I am yelping for their step above. My 4 year old fell asleep at the table. As I was organizing all our stuff to leave, two waiters came over and insisted on helping. One waiter gently picked him up and the other waiter had his large umbrella ready and they walked us to our car in a typical Tampa down pour. So thoughtful and kind. This was our first time at the restaurant and they treated us like regulars. Oh...and the veal and the pasta was excellent.

Comparable in quality to Bella's & Bellini, Italian cuisine at its finest. Very cozy and classy dining room with top notch service from greeting to wishing us good night leaving. Well described specials and menu, offering some creative variations on the classics....including Pink Princess sauce to induce young girls to eat their pasta. Very good antipasto and fine chicken dishes. Entrees included bruchetta, ,warm bread with pesto, salad and pasta of the day. Timing of dishes served was perfect, and servers were completely attentive. We finished with excellent tiramisu and full bellies without leftovers or empty spaces. Will be back.

This was my new favorite restaurant until tonight. I inadvertently left a GTE envelope on the table when I left. It only contained $70 but it had my debit card and drivers license. It took me less than 5 minutes to return after going to redbox and noticing my debit card was missing. I returned and the waiter who was awesome remembered seeing it on the table. The owner's son in law with great fan fair insisted he checked with the dishwasher, trash, etc. Just lacked credibility somewhere. I reported my debit card stolen, will have to go to the DMV, whoever has my $70 must need it. I don't care how good their food is, plenty of others in South Tampa. I tried for no stars but it did not allow, me the option.

Such a nice family owned restaurant. Their customer service was fantastic. They make you feel like VIP but what's amazing is how good the food is. Everything was fresh and delicious. The pink princess sauce was so good with penne pasta I can't wait to try it with tortellini. Free bruschetta and bread with pesto sauce was good too. And the house salad dressing was very good with a little sweetness to it.

Can't give this place enough praise. You're treated like a family member from your first visit. It's European style for sure. If you want something, ask for it. They're not breathing down your neck trying to push you out. Sit, eat, drink and relax. You're not getting a check till you ask. Off the menu, they are happy to comply. My favorite disappeared and they gladly make it every time. Tiramisu is phenomenal, and I usually hate that stuff! Oh, yeah! Don't bother boxing up leftovers. They won't make it to your fridge. Too good to wait.

If you want to dine here on a Saturday night, make sure you have a reservation. The dining room is on the smaller side. It's a family owned restaurant and the service was pretty good. I started off with the Lobster Bisque which was creamy and flavorful. After finishing my soup it took about 15 minutes for my Caesar Salad to come out and it wasn't anything special. For my entree I had the Penne Vodka which was my favorite of the night; I liked that it wasn't salty and it didn't taste heavy.

I never eat Italian, but decided to branch out and try this place with a friend the other night--I have to say, I am SO glad I did. From the moment we stepped foot on the property, it felt like we were whisked away to Italy. The man who greeted us was exuberant and speaking Italian, which tickled me to no end! (I guess I am easily amused, haha.) The interior is adorable. It's a smallish place, which I liked, and at every table was a white rose and candle, which was super romantic. My friend & I ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer, which was quite yummy. For our entrees, I ordered the chicken piccata, and my friend got the special...it was pasta with shrimp, oysters, scallops, and baby octopus, I believe. His dish was good--the sauce was really light, which was nice. I am more into bold flavors, though, and the chicken piccata surely delivered on that account. The flavor was OUSTANDING. Tangy and creamy and ohmygod just so good. We ordered the limoncello cake for dessert, along with a couple of canollis. Hell yes, my friends. Looking forward to another visit.

Looking at it from the outside you wouldn't think there was a cute restaurant inside. The ambiance is nice, romantic, and a cute Italian restaurant like feel. The walls are covered with nice paintings and photographs. They have outside seating as well. The pesto sauce that comes with the bread is delicious. I ordered the tortellini with pink princess sauce and pesto gnocchi. The dishes weren't as spicy as I would like but they gave me a lot of crushed red pepper. I eat VERY spicy so not many places would actually make their food that spicy, so I find this completely acceptable. The service was fantastic. The server refilled my diet coke at least 3 times in 30mins. Overall, this is a great hidden treasure and I would definitely go back!

Cute place! Just what this area needs-very classy and elegant. A bit crowded-I sort of feel like they have too many tables there but the staff couldn't be more accommodating. Our party of three had the snapper, the veal piccatta and the chicken marsala. The salad was yummy and the "appetizers" were a nice touch-more than just bread. As we finished our meal they gave us each a little glass of dessert wine (nice touch). The desserts were yummy yummy. I give it an A-. Nice atmosphere and it's not going to break the bank.

Excellent! The waitstaff was perfectly friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was quiet and romantic. As for the food, I LOVED the chicken piccata and the option to substitute fresh steamed vegetables in the place of pasta noodles. I followed my meal with a berry cheesecake for dessert, and it was delicious as well. I was only a visitor to the Tampa area, but if I return I'll be sure to eat here again. My only criticism is that the location is a bit odd and parking was tight.

This place is fabulous!! Very good authentic Italian at very reasonable prices. We used to live near there, or else never would have noticed it. The gnocchi is my personal favorite, but we've never had a bad meal.

I tried this place because of all the great reviews, and I hate to say it, but I as not impressed. Although the staff were super nice, the food was not the greatest. I ordered the Tortellini Alfredo, and the sauce was pretty good, but the pasta was not cooked right. it was the multi colored pasta and depending on the color, they were cooked to different consistencies. I think the green ones were al dente, but the orange and white ones where undercooked. The price was kind of high too. I wanted shrimp on it ( it was like 14.00 for just past and sauce) With the shrimp, I think the whole dish was around 27.00 for a small (lunch size portion.) Also there was no choice of salad dressing. They just brought salad with vinaigrette (I think) which I do not care for. The salad also tasted right out of the bag. I think this place has potential, but could use improvement. I will not be returning :(, but good luck to the restaurant. I would recommend.. a better value, consistency, and more variety.

This is a place with a lot of potential. It's small, and therefore should be able to afford to be very specialized - they're not trying to pump out 500 covers a night. And I have to say that I'm an Italian food snob. I grew up in Boston on the best. I thought the food here was very ordinary, and overpriced. My pasta was pretty mushy. Overcooked. The sauce was unremarkable and frankly, not well seaoned. However, I didn't order one of the main entrees, I just ordered a plate of rigatoni with sausage, for which I was charged $13.95. I was unimpressed. My wife, however, ordered a fish with vegetables and she said it was great, my son had a chicken piccata that he said was very good. So maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. The place could also do with some improvements in the dining room. There was a mix of different kinds of flatware on the table (sloppy and indicates to me that the managment doesn't care when there are only 10 or so tables in the place - it's not cute or eclectic in this kind of a place). The tables are too small, good for two but not for four. And the chairs were quite possibly the most uncomfortable dining chairs I've ever sat in. Finally, the lights in the place kept flickering, dimming and brightening as if the rheostat was bad or the wrong kind of light bulbs were installed in the fixtures. With a small place like this, I'd like to be able to order multiple small courses (and not break the bank), good wine with each course, and make a comfortable evening out ot it, not feeling as if you've gorged yourself after just the entree. Do me a favor, serve me smaller portions and charge me less, so I can try more items on your menu. I'll spend the same amount, but I'll feel better. And if you do that, you can focus on the quality rather than quantity. Finally, how does a place like this get away with not making homemade pasta? You're only serving 50-60 people on a weekend night. Put the effort into it.

My boyfriend and I went to dinner here for the first time last night and we LOVED it. We were a little surprised by the decor/ambiance on the insides versus what we thought it would look liked based on the outside, but at least we were pleasantly surprised. This place would be great for a date or a celebratory dinner of some sort. Loved the complimentary, delicious, bruschetta at the start of the meal too. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer (which was really great) and a chicken and veal dish we both split. I had read other reviews that mentioned the pink princess sauce, and those reviews were spot on. The sauce was delicious. I am not exactly sure what went into it, but I would order that with some kind of protein the next time I went. My chicken picatta was super tasty - very tart and tender. I think the place is reasonably priced for the level of service, quality of food and intimate atmosphere. I will definitely be back.

Ate here tonight for the first time and were very pleased with the friendly atmosphere. Our party had chicken piccata, veal piccata and chicken marsala. The sauces were very good and the pasta of the day had a lovely princess sauce. Killer bruschetta and the salad while small was nice and the house dressing was tasty. Next time we will order an appetizer to leave a little more full. The chicken dishes featured a half of a half breast cutlet which was a bit small for an average appetite.

Owner was arrogant and defensive when I mentioned the long wait for entrees. You better be a rock star chef before you pull that. Or maybe not even then. But nothing in this place warranted a haughty 'tude, which we also got from the surly waiter minute one. It's really stuck in a bad place circa 1982.

The food is fantastic! Service incredible. Owner 100% committed to making the experience top notch. The wife and I had the Snapper Livornese and Snapper Champagne... Both exquisite dishes. The staff is courteous and committed to their trade... We drove from Valrico... 18 miles.... just to eat here and it was well worth the drive. I will make the drive again any time... Outstanding service by itself made the dining experience enjoyable. Thank you!

One of Tampa Bay's best authentic Italian restaurants. When you walk in you're personally greeted by name by the owner. Great food, great apps, fairly priced, hidden gem off Gandy blvd next to Publix. Call and make a reservation tonight. You won't regret it.

Food poisoning, disgusting food, what a disgrace to call yourself an italian restaurant. My wife and I decided to order take-out and were in the mood for italian. We always pass by this place and always wanted to try it. It looks very authentic and potentially was a hidden gem. I went to pick it up after ordering a chicken parm dinner. It came with bread, a side salad and side pasta. My wife ordered an eggplant appetizer with marinara sauce with gnocci dinner. I hate leaving bad reviews but this one honestly deserves it. Every item was packaged in styrofoam containers (instead of the traditional foil containers, the bread was regular white bread as if it was just bought in the isle of a grocery store..no garlic, no butter.., the salad was just some old iceberg lettuce and a tomato slice. As i opened my chicken parm, the sauce appeared runny and one look easily determined this was the sloppiest, cheapest meal. The mozzarella was a slice placed on top and the chicken was literally a piece of frozen chicken not even breaded with eggplant and this watery tastless runny sauce topped by this slice of mozzarella. I was so hungry and it tasted so terrible and I even said to myself while eating...this tastes terrible, almost spoiled. I only ate half before almost vomiting. Well let me tell you, its 1am right now and I've been on the toilet for the past 3 hours. My wife gave her meal to the dog. I hope he's not affected like I was.

This is one of the Most Amazing Restaurants! Everything we ordered was Delicious including the Free Bruschetta that you get along with Bread and a Wonderful Pesto Sauce. Our appetizers, meals, soup and salads were all so GOOD! Service was great and they were very attentive and courteous. This is definitely a rare find and look forward to going back many more times!!!

A small place at such an odd location but is locally owned. We were personally greeted by the owner at some point while we were waiting for our food and again when we were leaving. The owner made a point of greeting everyone who came in his restaurant and bid them good bye. The food was quite good. We ordered a special item off the menu and didn't think it was important to ask for the price, it came out to be a bit more than what we thought but since the food was so good and the portion was enough for two, there's no regrets or complain from me. Overall, I would definitely go back to this place. A great place for date with candle lit dinner, the space is quite small so it feels intimate. We also receive complementary desert beautifully decorated. Not only it looks gorgeous but also taste great.

I went to Vino about a couple months ago for lunch with my girlfriend. The waiters were nice and they have complimentary puff creams for dessert at the end (nice surprise) :) The food was just okay...I ordered alfredo pasta because it is my favorite. It was nothing special and unimpressive. Unfortunately it turned out to be another "eh" Italian restaurant in Tampa bay....My journey for great Italian continues...

One of the better Italian restaurants in the Tampa Bay area. Small, really cozy place. All the waiters and owner are super friendly. When I was there on Sunday a man was providing some great entertainment on a keyboard. Excellent wine selection all with reasonable price. Dinner includes bread with a great dipping sauce, excellent bruschetta, a salad and a side item of vegetable or pasta. I had the chicken picatta, which was great and angel hair with pink princess sauce (mix of marinara and alfredo) It was all awesome.

I had a snapper lunch special which wasn't that great, and my friend had the veal special and LOVED it. I don't know if it was the fish or the sauce that was not good, but the owner offered to replace it and gave us 2 eclair puffs for dessert, which was very nice. I'll visit this place again for dinner sometime but won't order fish!

My boyfriend and I went for dinner last night. The restaurant is small but clean. Actually quaint and romantic is a better description. The people whom work there are very nice -- while I didn't care for our waiter he was acceptable. We began with an order of the fried calamari and zucchini. The food was good and certainly fresh but didn't have much taste to it. It was good but was missing flavor. The marinara sauce it is served with was very good. I had a create your own pasta and he had the Chicken Piccata. They brought out a house salad for each of us, which is included in the price of the meal. The salad was good however they put way too much dressing on it-- so is suggest you order it with the dressing on the side. His Chicken Piccata looked good. However it was served on a very large plate and they served a single cutlet with a side of their daily pasta. The portion size was disappointing for $15.95. On the other hand, my create your own pasta was huge....I added a piece of grilled chicken to my pasta. It was very good but I will say that the carbonara sauce was very light and needed some flavor. Overall, we had a good experience and a decent meal. We will definitely go back.

Great romantic atmosphere - the tables are smaller but big enough. A rose on each table. Small covered patio area with a handful of tables. Service is awesome!! The staff seems to help each other out throughout the entire meal. Lobster bisque - very yummy and creamy, just wish there was some thick meat in it. Chicken Marsala - Marsala sauce was scrumptious! The potato thing served with the dish was perfection! I am not sure (I forgot to ask) what it is exactly, but I need them in my life on the daily. The veggies were buttered properly. Seafood Linguine - This was a special of the night. Awesome amount of seafood to the pasta. There was mussels, clams, scallops, shrimp, lobster, and calamari all mixed in. *See how most food is covered in that cheese - recommended! Tasted fresh!

I came back here a few weeks after my first visit and the service was horrible. It took over half an hour for us to get someone to bring the check and we asked for it maybe four times. The manager or whoever brought it over was not nice about the fact that we had asked and didn't even bother to apologize for the wait. The food was okay both times we went. I probably will not be coming back here after our last experience.

This has become my wife and I's favorite Italian restaurant. The lasagna is awesome. Our waiter listened to us and based on our tastes recommended a great wine that my wife loved. We had the seafood special as well as our lasagna, the special was filled with muscles, scallops, shrimp, calamari, and topped with a lobster tail, all over pasta and white wine sauce, but we were offered three sauces to choose from. We had enough food left over to have a big lunch the next day. As always the first two courses are a great way to start the dinner, their homemade salad dressing is great btw. We happened to be talking and our waiter heard us say our other plans for our anniversary that night and brought us two small dessert pastries. Not once is our five visits have we had a bad interaction with an employee, and this time was no different everyone there makes you feel valued. After a long day working for both my wife and I dinner at vino e pasta brightened our evening and left our bellies full and extremely satisfied. We love this place! BTW their was a groupon out there for $24 worth of food for only $12, which was a great deal, but I'm not sure if it is still available.

Yet another favorite for my wife and I. Decent location on Gandy. It's so small and unassuming, however, that I think most people would drive by it if they weren't familiar with it. We first visited shortly after moving to Tampa at the recommendation of some friends. Good romantic date spot... wine list isn't great, but I believe every bottle is the same price (around $30?) I've never had a bad meal here, and my wife always loves whatever she orders. We've been just the two of us, and we've also been with a group. They are very accommodating and the staff always seems to go way out of their way to please you. The host (owner, possibly?) also likes to kiss the ladies' hands... a true Italian gentlemen... ha.

My daughter and I had dinner here tonight (Feb. 22). I read the somewhat outdated reviews here and would say that any complaints about the quality of food is definitely outdated. I had Snapper Livornese, one of my favorite dishes...the fish was excellent, perfectly cooked and the sauce and pasta were great. My daughter had gnocchi with a pink bolognese sauce and it was excellent as well.. She had an excellent caesar salad and I had a great caprese.... The owner and staff were hard working; service was excellent even though the restaurant was almost full....I give it five stars because the food was wonderful...It doesn't have the atmosphere of a Donatello's, but the atmosphere is fine and there's an obvious effort to create a nice atmosphere....fresh flowers on the table, a nice black and white motif on table clothes, and decent wines at reasonable prices...more importantly, the prices of the entrees, salads etc. made it a fabulous value. While we certainly enjoyed what we ordered, there was a tasty bruschetta, a complimentary small cake and glass of dessert wine...We'll definitely be back....we did notice the owner greeting a number of diners who were obviously regulars...always a good sign....it is fine for a quiet evening for a couple, or, as we observed, a couple of groups of six or so....including some families with children 10 and above...so it works for everyone....We've tried the Laughing Cat in Ybor and this is just as good..and if you live in south Tampa, it certainly beats the drive...So don't be mislead by outdated reviews....it may be the folks who panned this place had a legitimate gripe at the time, but they don't know what they're missing now. Try it, you'll like it if you appreciate good Italian food.

This is a cute place that serves okay food. The owner is really nice. The paid servers are hit or miss. The wine list is fine. I don't love Italian wines in general, but I was eating at an Italian restaurant, so of course I expected a largely Italian wine list. I can't remember what we drank. It was fine and didn't give me a hangover. To start, we shared the fried calamari and zucchini. I thought it was tasty. It stayed crispy. My husband had the caesar salad, which he thought was good. They served me a side salad, and it was fine. My husband had the penne with vodka sauce. He enjoyed it. I had the veal milanese. The veal was paper thin and a little over fried. There wasn't enough acid to the milanese part. As I said, the atmosphere of the place is cute, and the owner is very enthusiastic. Our serve was less charming. He seemed very frustrated that we changed our mind about which bottle to order. We ended up with a more expensive bottle, so he should've been happy, but he wasn't. The restaurant was not that busy. As the food was fine but not great and that server was rude, I don't know if we'll return.

I can't say I experienced a true authentic Italian dining at Vino E Pasta. Pasta was okay -- vodka sauce & alfredo mix -- something I can easily recreate at home. It just didn't blow me away. Spinach stuffed chicken was decent. Owner was very pushy -- trying to sell wines and appetizers.

I am eating at vino e pasta as we speak. I am eating the best plate of spaghetti e sausage I have ever had. I am drinking a smooth delicious glass of merlot. I am listening to an utterly wonderful piano player. I am being attended to by a great waitor. Needless to say.I am a happy customer and will come back as often as possible! Unpretentious yet sophisticated environment too. The real deal. A plus.

We went to this restaurant because it's close to home and there was a Groupon. I'm so glad we went! Everything was amazing from the service, to the food, to the authentic vibe! The prices were pretty reasonable too, even without the Groupon!

This was my second visit to this cozy little neighborhood spot. My last visit was about a year and a half ago and it was fantastic. My friend and I decided to go at the last minute without a reservation. Although they were full, they sat us right away in their covered patio section which was pleasant. We were greeted with freshly made bruschetta and from start to finish our service was spectacular. The owner came to our table several times to check on and was very friendly. We both cleaned our plates and even finished dessert. I had Veal Piccata with pasta and it was wonderful. I can't wait to go back and try some of their seafood dishes.

Great little spot. I've been there a few times and the food and service is excellent every time that I just had to write a review. They have the most delicious sauce that I've ever had. If you love Italian or your not a big fan like me then you must try this place!

We were headed to another restaurant that turned out to be closed for St. Patty's day. Good luck! Free bruschetta came to the table shortly after we sat down. It was quite delicious, but I was forced to share with the kids. Damn kids. Calamari and shrimp fantastico were really great! Everything tasted fresh, the way that it should be. Now, when I ordered the snapper champagne I was skeptical. I am usually not a fan of a sauce like this, particularly on fish, but the waiter suggested it was the best thing on the menu. I would agree. Again, fresh, and tasty as all get out. THIS is why we eat! Mashed potatoes had onions and garlic in them. A little unusual, but very good. My notes say "small dessert", but I don't remember if that was free or if the portions were just small. What I do remember is that this is on our list to revisit. After a trip to Italy last year we found it to be very authentic, down to the plastic sheeting to keep the rain off of the outside guests, a lack of ice in the ice water, and the attitudes of the servers.

Food was excellent! Cabonara was what it should taste like, and calamari was good too. Service was a bit strange - they had a few waitstaff serving the same table, some of whom were great and others a bit scatter-brained. Mixed up the bills too. Right next to Barista, the drive-through coffee joint where the servers wear bikinis and lingerie :D

A small, cozy place. Friendly servers, live music and delicious food. You can't ask for more. I tried the chicken vino-e-pasta and cheese ravioli with pesto. Both were really good. You also get free Bruschetta, fresh salad and small dessert. Gotta love it!

Poor service and mediocre food. First off, they sat my girl and I at a table that wasn't fully busted. Second, the waiter congratulated me on my wise choice of wine after trying to order 2 other bottles that they didn't have in stock. Third, the food is on par or below the Olive Garden. Fourth, they had 4 separate servers serve us, so we really weren't sure who to ask for help. Fifth, they brought out my check charging me for everything even before they gave me the desert that I ordered or even ask if I wanted to refill my empty glass of wine. I needed to give this place a shot since it is located in my neighborhood, but I will not be returning. The Laughing Cat in Ybor City still reigns supreme as the best Italian food in Tampa.

Wait staff / owner were excellent. like the small restaurant feel. Our food was just so so but so many in the restaurant seemed like regulars so am hoping we just ordered wrong? I had the Veal Vino E Pasta... The lobster bisque was OK just expect to see some lobster meat but none was to be found even after some searching...

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
