After so much frustration at movie theaters over the past year, I have FINALLY found my place. Villagio has been highly recommended by other yelpers (shout out to Chris W!) but it took a rainy day and strong desire to see a horror movie for us to finally try them out. All I can say it, amazing! From the customer service, to the bar, to the reclining seats and mini-theaters.... truly wonderful. Prices, not so truly wonderful, but I'm assuming that's how they keep the riff raff out. Our two tickets and two alcoholic beverages (no judgement, even though it was 2:30pm) came out to about 44 bucks. Oh, and 17% gratuity is included in drinks even if you get them at the bar. Oh well! A cold beer during a movie free of giggling, chatting annoying teenagers was TOTALLY WORTH IT. Since we saw a matinee, there was barely anyone there. A tip: going to the movies by yourself is totally okay here. There were a few people in our theater going solo, even enjoying a beer and lunch, and I could totally see myself doing that since I'm a horror fanatic and no one will ever go with me except my guy (because he has to). Also: it's freezing. A good 5-10 degrees colder than normal businesses, with actively blowing air, in my theater at least. Glad I brought a sweatshirt!! Anyways, yay! Will definitely be back!

For years I kept thinking how wonderful it would be if I could be as comfortable at a movie theater as on my own couch. Finally my fantasy became reality with the addition of Villagio Theaters! The seats recline like lazy boys and you can enjoy a cocktail right at your seat. Food consists of the traditional movie theater fare along with other yummy snacks delivered right to your seat. Their mozzarella sticks are ginormous and tasty. You'll never want to go back to a regular movie theater after seeing a movie here.

Superb! Italian themed cuisine that makes for an excellent chicken parm sandwich whilst viewing a film in an electric recliner.....where's the catch? Oh wait, there is none. The menu is solid and I've had several things here (salad with bacon dressing, chickenfingers, etc etc) and am always satisfied. The garlic parm fries are worth the $2 upcharge. Deeeelsih. An experience comparable to Cinebistro, but without the pretension. The only time we have really had a line was when arriving and getting tickets during busy show time hours. Wooo. Worth the 10 minute wait. I wish this were closer to South Tampa.

Love this place, I always check here to see if a movie is playing first before anywhere else. Food and drink is expensive, but the movie prices are reasonable and you can't beat the reclining seats!

This is the place to be for now on to watch a movie for me. The food was decent, and the service was great, it was nice to see the staff working together. Everything came out fast. The sound in the theater was awesome. The only thing I have to say is that the A/C was bumping next time I'm bringing a blanket!! On cold nights dress warm. lol I will return!!

  • Eric C.

I absolutely love to watch movies here!!! You can't beat the recliners, being served and the all you can eat popcorn. They are very kid friendly and usually have one or two movies that the family can go to as well. They also have a restaurant that you can eat at before or after your movie, not a bad deal there. Prices are a bit higher than regular movie theaters, but you can't go wrong at this place!!!

I really love the conept of the movies and having dinner at the same time but I would do a few things, like get some type of lighting for customers to read the menu and also you should be able to have the option to reorder drinks before movie starts fi not then we have to miss some of the movie to go to bar for more drinks.

After a handful of visits in the past year, I am becoming wary of going to this theater/bistro. There always seems to something lacking despite the amazingly comfortable chairs. The majority of the staff just doesn't seem to care about their jobs there. Food/drink orders are incorrect. Quality of food seems to have diminished. Problems with correcting sound/picture issues while the movies are playing. Not enjoyable experiences. I hope that they get things corrected, it's a great venue.

Love going to this movie theater..relaxing and comfortable seating. Cute bartenders. Friendly staff. Pizza is tasty:)

I have no idea when this theater opened, but I'm kicking myself for not knowing about it sooner. The seats are amazing! They're leather, they're wide and they recline!!!! You can pretty much recline to a full horizontal position. How awesome is that?! The theater, as with most theaters, is a bit on the cold side so be sure to bring a cardigan. Currently, this theater has no online ticket purchase so you have to purchase them in person. The cool thing about this theater is that you can select your seats while purchasing your tickets, so you don't have to go into the theater early to grab the good seats. My bf and I got to the theater just 5 min before our show time so we couldn't participate in the In Theater Dining, though we could order food and drinks at the Bar & Lounge and have someone bring them to us. We ended up ordering Calamari and a bucket of Heineken. While watching the previews our calamari arrived. I really liked the homemade marinara sauce, but I found the calamari to be thin and chewy. The menu looks decent so I'm looking forward to trying another dish next time. Definitely my new favorite movie theater. Can't wait to go back!

Not to damn shabby! Yes its more like bar food nothing gourmet! great atmosphere and beer! Decent prices to see a movie and grab a meal! Great date night sorta thing

This place gets a 5-star simply for the no-kid rule after certain hours. There's nothing I hate worse than paying top dollar to see a movie, and having to listen to kids screaming, and mom just tuning them out. This no-kid rule remedies that. This place is a bit on the pricey side, but I honestly think it's worth it, because the food is amazing, you can get alcohol/buckets of beer, and the seats are so comfy that you can sink right into them! Also, you can pick your seats when you purchase your tickets

  • Logan T.

too over priced and servers always get in the way when your watching the movie and extremely cheap just for a drink really a drink and go to hell villagio's also $15 for a burger with a limited amount of fries and you half to pay extra for them also as well with $7 for popcorn cmon give us a break at least give us something for free and as well with the roach investigation by the fda and got shut down for three days and upgrade the theatre by adding more theatre's and not crammed and the staff ill curse them out if i go again

Visited this theatre while in town for my 37th birthday celebration for the day with my husband. We saw Taken 3 there on 1/10/15. We are from Orlando and I can't think of a theatre like this one in Orl! Loved how far the motorized seats reclined and the fact that a waiter was on hand for food/drink orders prior to the movie! This place is definitely not the average theater!

Villagio Cinemas has only been open a relatively short time, and they have the potential to be great, but they need to focus on 2 important details: the theater ambiance and the food. Since I love the other movie + dining theater in town, I'll try to compare apples to apples: When you walk in here, they look at your ticket, tell you which theater it's in, and then you go seat yourself, picking up the menu on the way. The other place - a server guides you to your seat with menu and silverware (with cloth napkin, not paper) in hand. After we sat ourselves, the first 10 minutes we chatted and listened in on other people's conversations. Why? Because nothing was showing on the screen, nor was there music being piped in. Just dead silence. It's all about creating ambiance, and while the theater looked great, lack of entertainment while we were sitting there was glaringly obvious. Then a couple of ads played at ear drum-bursting level, and then the movie. Food - came out quickly, but was barely warm. I don't expect gourmet, but my sandwich was pretty disappointing. They do win the sweet potato fry war here since they were scrumptious, however, my sandwich & sweet potato fries together cost $15! I will say that I really enjoyed the leather reclining seats - super comfortable, although the seats seemed way to close to each other, compared to what I'm used to. Bottom line - when I spend that kind of money on a movie & lunch, I want to walk out feeling like it was a worthwhile splurge; not like it was a marginal experience.

Terrific new spot to be able to see a first-class movie in very comfortable surroundings and enjoy a delicious Italian dinner. Villagio Cinemas was a winner with me! You'll find Villagio Cinemas along Dale Mabry Highway in the same shopping center as Mimi's Café, and tucked back in off the road. It's roughly across the street from the Red Lobster if that helps? The theater is small and intimate, with a total of six screens and a nice bar area / restaurant out in the main lobby. They don't yet offer online ordering of your tickets, but the manager said they will have that soon. So, you need to arrive at the cinema at least a half-hour before show time to purchase your tickets and select your exact seats, and then relax in the bar area until they open your theater. Each of the six theaters will hold about 100 people, and it's Adults only (21+) after 7pm so you wont be distracted by giggling teens and jarring cellphone ringers throughout your show. You pick up a menu as you walk to your seat, and within a few moments a server is there to take your order for dinner, drinks, or just movie snacks. You pay as soon as you order, and your food is delivered in a few minutes. I had the eggplant parmagiana ($16) and Britt had the rucola salad with grilled chicken breast ($13) and we each had a glass of wine. Nice dinner and reasonable prices for food of this quality. The chef also operates the Villagio Italian restaurant in Lutz, and so you'll get a first-class meal to go with the show. The chairs are super comfy, plush leather recliners which tip way back and have a footstool that lifts up to rest your weary feet. Let me just warn you that if the movie stinks you'll be sound asleep in no time! We watched "We're the Millers" and were too busy laughing to worry about falling asleep. It was a very nice evening out, and much preferred over our local AMC Cineplex.

After the first time going I will never go to another movie theater. It is even more comfortable than the Cinna bistro, the reclining chairs are awesome . The place is clean and most of the food is very good.

Well I will update my review when I actually have had a chance to enjoy a movie at this theater. I drove all the way to the theater to see 100 Foot Journey last night because I really wanted to see it and I noticed it was still showing at this theater. When I arrive I am told there is no 8pm show, so I pull out my phone and show that it is still on the website. So after a bit of a run around the staff apologizes, telling me the 8pm showing had been cancelled for another event. I was offered to see another movie but no interesting ones were showing for another 2 hours. This was a big fail on their part but I give them kudos for trying to make it right.

I love the concept that villagio brings to the table to set them apart from theaters in the area. There aren't more then 3 with the same concept and it happens to be in my top two because the prices are reasonable and it doesn't get to crowded. If you are wanting to buy tickets you have to go to the location prior to the showtimes to buy tickets and get a decent seat because a perk is you can choose your seat. The beauty of it all is you order food, alcoholic beverages, coffee and desert to go with your movie. You must show up 30 min prior to the showing in order to do so. My experience last night was ok, the food was nothing to rant and rave about I will probably just get dinner out next time prior to getting there. I had a burger which wasn't bad but not the greatest and the fries were not good and cold. The customer service was not the best it could be better. I'm fully aware that it's a weekend night but there's like 6 waiters in our theater and only 2 of them were friendly and making sure everyone was taken care of. We got over looked by a waiter and we were the first in the theatre ready to order and he just goes to another couple right behind us and then goes back downstairs not even acknowledging that we had a menu or ready to order. I finally get to order and the wait wasn't to long for my food but my boyfriend did get his 10 min. after mine. So after that I was fine just trying to give them the benefit of doubt but the guy server only one in there last night does the same to another gentlemen that happened to get in the theatre when we did. The waiter hands him a menu and walks away. He's order didn't get taken tell he spoke up because the young lady thought the guy waiter had taken it as he should. Then this poor guy with his son waited over 30 min for their food after he went and complained because he was literally the only person who hadn't gotten his food. It's just sad to see such a great place give such poor customer service. They all seem to be involved in personal conversation with coworkers then they are serving the customer out in the lobby and in the theatre.

I can not say enough great things about Villaggio cinemas. The bar area is clean and open, the bathrooms (though small) are well done and CLEAN and the theaters are intimate and comfortable. We had a CL Deal and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Tickets are ? $12, so not that much more than AMC. But man, what an entirely different experience. For $12 you'll receive the most comfortable seats to enjoy your movie, moderately priced concessions ($6 for unlimited popcorn), and a full dinner menu with an Italian flare. I would highly recommend checking this establishment out. I may never visit an AMC again.

Absolutely an exceptional experience everytime! I come here with my fiancé at least 3 times a month. It's the perfect place to watch a movie and grab a bite. The best thing is that you can order a bucket of beer at a time! The staff is very welcoming. I would recommend this place to everyone and I do!

The food literally tasted like fecal matter that had been soaked in grease for 6 days then fried in more grease. The food prices are outrageous!!! I will never buy food here again. It was terrible & terribly overpriced. I got a 6 inch personal pre-frozen pizza covered in 3 tbs of grease for $12. Gross!! 17% gratuity included in cost. Normally that wouldn't be bad & I would probably add more, but the service sucked at this place. - Brought me wrong beer. - Gave us ice cold fries. - Didn't see waiter for over 20 minutes & had to go searching for him. (Less that 3 people were sitting in place eating) ---------------------------------------------- The theater is nice. Reclining seats are cool. You get guaranteed seats. They serve drinks to you at your seat. --------------------------------------- Awesome theater wasn't enough to save this place from getting 2 stars. Can't get over how awful food was & how much they charged for that garbage. I may see a movie here again, but I will never put a single item of their food in my mouth again. I would rather get a golden shower from a giraffe that just ate 6 lbs of asparagus than ever eat at this establishment again.

Watch a new movie in a theater with reclining La-Z-Boy type chairs and grub on Italian food? Yes please! Stopped in on their official opening day with La Chica to catch The Internship, which was pretty funny, and to get some grub. First off, the place is extremely nice. It's been a long time since I've seen a movie in this location, and I don't remember exactly what the old Cobb theater that was here looked like, but it was nothing like this. What the Villagio folks did here is just beyond comprehension. The décor is just great. To drink, we ordered a bottle of wine. To eat, we summoned some nachos and a CHICKEN PARM PANINI (see Gigi S's pic). Damn was it good. I've eaten a lot of chicken parm from a lot of different places, and this one was up there with the best. So good, in fact, that their Italian restaurant in Lutz is now on my radar. If they make a sammich this damn good, I can't imagine what their full menu is like. Service was good. Everyone was very friendly. My only complaints, well more like suggestions... They should have music and info running on the big screen prior to the movie. You could hear a pin drop in there, which made it odd as all the couples in there were trying to eat and talk without everyone else being in their business. It was just awkward. Also, some napkins and eating utensils would have been nice with my meal.

Villagio tries to do what CineBistro has mastered. A unique, upscale movie and dining experience. However it does fall short on a few things. What I love: Villagio's cheaper ticket and menu prices. CineBistro is a bit ridiculous on this front. Second, they win hands down on their AUTOMATICALLY RECLINING seats. Super comfortable. What they miss the mark on: Luxury. It feels cheap. From the crinkly paper menu, to the ugly florescent bulbs that pop on when the waiters runs in, to the smell of wing sauce that mysteriously never went away the whole two hours, to the way that NONE of the previous viewers messes were cleaned up prior to letting guests enter the theater. And after I sat down no one came to clean it up for a good 15 minutes. It just didn't feel fancy, didn't feel luxury. It just left an OK impression in my mind. And for the waitress saying everyone raves about the pizza being really good, it was NOT. Sauce tasted old and not homemade and the crust was tasteless and unimpressive. So, overall, not a big hit with me.

  • T N.

Love the seats, which are very comfortable, spacious, reclines. It's convenient to be able to have real food/dinner while you see your movie. Recommend come a bit early so you can get in your food order, If you come after movie starts will have to order food/drinks from the bar. The burgers and veggie pizza are decent. Bruchetta is ok, a bit messy and hard to eat in the dark. Avoid the mozzarella sticks, not that good, and they charge $10 for 4 sticks! Theater and screen size is not huge but not small either, good crowd, have been here twice haven't been bothered by loud talkers or phones going off

  • Jonathan S.

Their food isn't too bad and it's nice to watch a movie with dinner. Just don't look for some crazy gastronome food it's the classics here with a hint of Italian. Their drinks are strong and bruschetta is very good.

  • Chris C.

Great atmosphere and quality facilities. Very VERY happy we decided to try this place out. The movie was great, having no kids in the theater made it even better. However... We did think the food was over priced and the service was a little slow. They definitely could use less staff at the front entrance and more at the bar. None the less this just became our go to movie theater! Love seats and the beer.. haha

  • Lori V.

I didn't eat dinner here but I ordered snacks and a very expensive huge bottle of sparking Italian water. I just wanted a small bottle but they served me one big enough for a full table. And I had to pay for that! If you don't eat there, the clanging dishes and food smells are pretty annoying. I haven't gone back because of that but I'll try it again someday. I missed the regular theater feeling when you see a movie. They don't have that awesome popcorn feeling!!

    (4)
  • Robbie C.

Four stars for the comfy recliners. Didn't order any food. First showing will cost $10 per ticket, $12 per ticket all other shows. There was a real bad sewage smell near the kitchen that made me decide not to order food. They had just opened up and only 8 people in theater. Guess they need to advertise. Looked at the menu and typical prices for food at a movie. Different from cinebistro as they allow kids before 6pm. $5 beer and $4 bottled water. Go figure!! Website said $6 popcorn but menu says $7. Strange that they raised price. Didn't they just open? Anyway it's closer than cinebistro so I'm glad for that. Also glad we went to see action packed Man of Steel or I could have easily zonked out. Zzzzz

Price to see movie comparable to other theaters. Reclining seats, awesome however a bit noisy when it's moving. Food - it was ok. Service - could be better.

Best movie theater ever! Wonderful service as well as the most comfortable reclining seats! I will never go anywhere else! Oh and awesome burgers too!

  • Kevin H.

Well it's happened again. A simple order of 1 beer turned into a 45 minute wait, followed by an awkward experience with a wide eyed manger, all while missing a portion of my movie. It used to be entertaining to see the sub par quality of the service, but now it's gotten to be too much, even for this good natured movie goer. As far as the movie, it went on without incident at the quoted time, however there were multiple instances where I could hear the music in the theater next door. Which was very distracting. Imagine hearing the happy song while a person on my screen is being tortured in a basement. I am forced to drop my review to 2 stars, and that is only because the movie played without incident and my seat was very comfortable. In closing I would advise the consumer to save your money and stay away. The best way to duplicate this experience at home would be, head out and buy a nice recliner, some local takeout and a bottle of your favorite beverage. Be sure to give 17% to each of the people you see in purchasing the food and drink. Go home, take a seat and enjoy about a third of the movie, then go see if your food has gotten cold, and barely edible. If so, promptly bring them to your recliner, turn out all the lights and then try and eat. Once covered in food, wash it down with that warm beverage. Proceed sit in your own filth for the next hour.

**Edited after a second visit, see bottom of review** I have to say it was a little tough deciding between 3 and 4 stars because of mixed feelings I had about various aspects of the experience. But first and foremost, I just had a beer with my movie and did not have any of their food, so I cannot comment on the quality of that. Service was decent and we were checked on twice prior to the movie starting. Front staff were very friendly and had no problem taking our CL Deal. Which leads me to the first problem- CL Deals had stated that no one under 21 was allowed after 7pm only to find out that it's no one under 18 after 7pm only on Fridays and Saturdays except on "family friendly" nights which are difficult to discern on their website. I'm sure if I went there more I would know when these are, but regardless we ended up there on a Sunday and there were several children in the theatre which defeated the purpose of going to Villagio. Fortunately, the children were well behaved, and for the $12 ticket price I can only complain so much on that aspect. However, the quality of the video and sound also left a little to be desired. Our movie seemed to be lacking most of the surround sound and was mostly coming from the front. There was also almost no bass at all and I'm usually sensitive to the levels in most movie theatres now. I get that it's a bunch of small theatres next to each other, but it really detracts from the movie experience. Also not sure if it was the screen used or the quality of the projector, but the movie gave me a little eyestrain and my eyes felt exhausted by the end. During heavy action sequences things tended to blur and definition was pretty bad in darker scenes so I have a feeling it was the projector. High points are the smaller theatres, the ability to pick seats at purchase, and of course the reclining chairs. I can't tell you what a relief it is to sit through a whole movie without any neck or back soreness. All in all, the experience feels like dinner and a movie at a friend's who has a decent home system more than a movie theatre. Wouldn't mind giving it another shot but I'm not in any hurry. *Edit* We had the opportunity to return to Villagio and our theatre this time had a much better sound quality than the last. We also had the chance to try the food and were very happy with it. They managed to make a movie theatre pizza into something I actually would love to have again. Also as last time, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I have now updated my review to be 4 stars based on this more recent experience.

There are so many great things about this place! It is my favorite movie theater because of the $10 matinee tickets, leather reclining seats, full restaurant, bar, and convenient location. Their pizzas and mozzarella sticks are a favorite! That being said, they still need to work out the kinks. During one visit we arrived pretty early and ate at the bar. (The bartender was friendly and helpful!) We saw someone order an amazing nacho dish so we ordered it the next time we visited... only to find out they now served a bag of chips and single serving of (very well preserved) nacho cheese. Since the menu still listed the fresh-baked amazing nacho dish, we sent it back and ordered something else. There also seems to be some confusion over the lunch menu vs. the dinner menu which they were still trying to work out. The first time we visited there was absolutely no sound in the theater during the 30 minutes when they served food. Overall, the people are nice and the theaters are the most comfortable option in the area. I hope that over the next few months they continue to iron out the smaller details that would make this theater worthy of five stars.

This place is awesome! First, there's the assigned seating and the leather power reclining seats. Then, there's the food. We weren't too hungry when I went so we just got an order of nachos and a couple of sodas. The nachos were great and the drinks came with free refills. It was a great experience, so we will definitely be going back.

Yes 5 stars to the max. I was so in heaven when I went to Villagio. The reclining chairs are uncomparable and you are even more comfy watching a movie than at home. You can also have an opportunity to have some great Italian food, sandwiches, pizza, entrees, and DESSERT. Of course there is a full bar of course for your drinking heart's content. This was definitely a great opportunity for me to watch a funny movie as well, The Heat. All was great at this place. Also on creative loafing you can get deals for it. That makes for an even bigger cherry on top is saving money and loving every moment of your experience there.

Stumbled upon this place and decided to bring the family and some friends. Spent 90$ on tickets and 180 on food just i sit in a hot theater. Food was decent and seats were good. But sweating through a 2 hr movie killed the experience. With other theaters now offering reclining seats and cold AC, i have no reason to come back.

The most comfortable place to watch a movie. I love the atmosphere here. Small theater good food and all around good value but sometimes their movie times don't align with fandango so give em a call.

Very impressed with this new theater! I like that you got to pick out your seat before you even went in. The theaters are small, maybe 30 seats? I didn't count. The lobby was beautiful and there was a woman singing and playing guitar. Everything looked new. The theater itself was very clean and a waiter welcomed us in. We wanted to try the food so we did show up 30 minutes early. I thought the menu prices were all very fair. We had the chicken parm and meatball subs. Both were good, not great, but good. I was concerned the food wouldn't come til after the movie started but it was out with time to spare! The waiters said they'd be back to clear the plates but they didn't, which was a little annoying. We just put the plates on an empty table. Couple suggestions- pipe in some music to the theaters until the movie starts. It was dead quiet as we ate. It was also a little warm but cooled off as the movie went on. Also, an online system where you could pay and select your seat would be awesome so you don't have to show up really early to get a decent seat (not that there's really a bad one in the house). Looking forward to a return visit!

Disgusting is the word that comes to mind when I think of this place. I saw Jurassic World here and will never go back. When you come in, your senses are assaulted by smells from the kitchen and the bathroom, which are right across from each other, and if that wasn't bad enough, when you get past all of that you get the smell of mildew from the theater itself, which was dirty from the previous showing. Another thing I didn't like was the way workers appear to dress in whatever they chose to wear with the exception of the server taking orders who had on black slacks and a black polo shirt that at least gave the semblance of a uniform. However I was so turned off by the whole experience I didn't dare order any food or drink. They also need to repair the movie theater doors as they shut loudly and after several openings and closings it gets irritating. The one redeeming thing were the chairs, they are large comfortable and recline, but I had to wipe crumbs and popcorn out of it before I could sit.

my wifes sandwich was burnt, her apple slices were flavorless the servers were not friendly, the food is way over priced. the seats were cool though. 90 bucks for 2 adults and a kid to see a movie and eat lunch is insane. dont go to the website for info on food its inaccurate.

The place sucks... When you come in in the movie theater there is a horrible smell.. Nobody greets you in when you come in like Cinebistro... There are not clean and the food is not good at all no seasoning... My seat have a nacho cheese on it.. They even gave the wrong dear number to another customer ... The employee run around with flash light while your watching the movie... The utensils is wrap on the cheapest disposable napkins ... And I don't even know why they are extra loose chairs inside the theater.. Carpet so dirty .... I rather go to muvico or amc .... This is the most sucky experience I ever experience...

Food sucks compared to cinebistro, but the reclining chairs are much better. Wish they were on fandango so you could pre-select your seats.

Why haven't I been here before?! Ultra comfy and spacious recliners and food brought right to your seat? Am I in a movie or an incredible dream? Clean, comfortable and absolutely the best way to see a movie. I am 7 months pregnant and was dreading sitting for 2 hours but instead, I was able to recline by my little boy as we enjoyed a movie together. Definitely my go-to movie theater from now on. If you're going to drop $20+ dollars for two, why not do it in style? I'm sold! My sweety's going to be so jealous he missed it!

So delightfully new, quiet, fair prices without screaming kids. Leather recliners at the touch of a button, servers that don't mess with you after the movie starts, and who are awesome before it does. Fine drinks, good Italian food and great gut junk. Clean restrooms, and an atmosphere worthy of an informal first date- if those still exsist. Well played old school Villagio spin off from Lutz. Well played!

INCREDIBLE very impressive the owner once told me that when I go to this theater it would be my last and I very much believe it is

I can't go to another theatre now because the seats here are the most comfortable around, even better because they recline and are very spacious! I have had the calamarie a multiple and it is always good! The cheese sticks are another favorite and are full of cheese. Everyone is very friendly and service is quick. Ladies, take a jacket (just in case) it can be cold sometimes.

Awesome electric reclining chairs. I don't think I'll be able to go to any other movie theater now. Pizza was good. We had the sausage pizza. If you are not to hungry it's enough for two. Bring a sweater because it's really chilly in there. They need to have more ladies restrooms. There are 2 ladies rooms with 2 toilets in each. One had a long line ( of course because there is only room for 2 to go). The other had only one working toilet. There was a single restroom for anyone to use but it was a mess. The toilet paper and holder were missing. Someone must of stolen it. You would think that with 6 theaters and a restaurant, they'd have more ladies rooms. Hopefully, the next time I go the things they can fix will be fixed.

The owner is a complete jerk. Had to switch theaters because of World Cup, and double sold the theatre. The employees and owner miscommunicated the theaters and had everyone confused because they can't communicate amongst themselves. Owner doesn't care about his customers' experience, don't waste you're money.

I would come here just for the seats. I love the comfy reclining seats and I can't imagine watching a movie in a regular theater chair ever again. The food was as expected, nothing special. Actually it was a little better than expected. I've been to one other theater that serves food and the food there was much worse than at Villagio. I'll definitely be back for the chairs but will keep the food to a minimum (an app or two).

I've been to the Villagio Cinemas several times and would recommend it to folks with an honest assesment. Lets start with the good items... The theater is well decorated and very clean. The ticket and food prices are very affordable and there is a nice variety of movies to select from. But most importantly, are the large plush reclining seats. Its the main reason I go to this venue. Now there are not many negative items but I would like to make it clear. The food is nothing to write home about. Its very simple and bland. I usually eat dinner elsewhere and then come to Villagio for just the movie, or movie and drinks. The service staff is usually very nice but is slow. I wouldn't let that deter you from going. The purpose of going here is to see a movie. So you get to do that in an excellent enviroment and not have to pay CineBistro prices. That and if you look at the positive side of it. Your lucky enough to get a basic pizza or pasta for what popcorn and a soda would cost at your local theater.

I'm sitting here in godzilla right now and I'm not a happy customer. I had cl deals totaling $30 for tickets. One was for $24 and one was $6 left over from December. Total for tickets was $18 so I lost $12. When I attempted to explain it all of the employees including the manager just told me too bad. So why offer a deal and not honor it? I also had a $30 voucher for food and after the required 17% for gratuity, we still had to pay $4 out of pocket after you stole $12. I am so disappointed you don't care to honor deals you offered in the first place. I'd appreciate my $12 back but I've already been told that I need to just deal with it. I followed the rules, so shame on you, no wonder you've such low ratings both here and on facebook. No concern for happy customers or quality service. Shameful.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! Went for the first time with a good friend for his birthday. I remember a long time ago there used to be a normal theater in the same location as Villagio. Now, there is an amazing, first class, top of the line movie theater created for people who want to ENJOY the movie going experience again! We used Creative Loafing deals that we had purchased and gave us a $30 credit to use. I do wish I had known about student pricing though (Reg. Adult is $12 and student is $8). I really wasn't sure what to expect since I had never been to a theater like Villagio. The ability to choose your seat before the movie, enjoy the full service bar and live music is a HUGE plus. Once in the theater the awesome seats became a fun novelty for me. I was surprised to see such a nice menu available at a movie theater. I ordered the Chef's Special and it certainly did not disappoint. Being served right in your seat is pretty much the best perk! I don't know about you but I really hate waiting in those long lines for stale popcorn at regular theaters. I highly recommend visiting Villagio Cinemas! I have two more Creative Loafing deals from the last time they became available and I CANNOT WAIT to use them!!!!

The Villagio Cinemas are so wonderful they might just make me a regular movie theater patron again! There are so many irritating things about the typical moviegoing experience. Getting an HDTV and a Blu-Ray player pretty much killed my desire to go and put up with all of that. The Villagio Cinemas are designed to get rid of almost everything that used to bother me. When you first walk in you can't help but notice how nice the lobby area is. There's a large bar in the center where you can order a drink while you're waiting for your show to start. There's also a small seating area for people who want to dine before their show. When you purchase your ticket you're shown a screen that displays the remaining seats that are available. When you select which ones you want they are assigned to you. The theater that we were in was a small one. It only had about thirty seats in it, which I thought was great. Less seats means less of a chance of rude people being in there with you. Each seat is a large leather recliner that has a retractable food tray attached to it. If you hold down a button on the side your legs get elevated. If you keep holding down the button the entire chair folds back so that you're almost laying down. It is ridiculously comfortable. The armrests are large, so you're not awkwardly having your elbow bump into the stranger next to you. I absolutely hate it when I have to take a bio break in the middle of a movie and end up stepping on people in the dark as I try to navigate out of the tiny aisles movie theaters have. Here every single person in your row could be fully reclined and you could easily walk right past them. The aisles are that large. Even though our theater was small our server told us to go peek at theater six when our movie was over. We did and saw that they have a very large theater as well. I have no idea what the food is like here and honestly I don't care. If the food is good, that's great and it's nice to have the option to have a meal here during a movie. If it's not then the amenities they're already offering are so great that it makes no difference to me. I did notice that they have a bottomless popcorn bucket for seven dollars. That's not cheap, but it's a bargain compared to other movie theater chains. The row in front of us ordered a bucket of beer, which I found amusing. They do have one glaring problem. You cannot select your assigned seats online. It would be so frustrating to drive all the way here to discover that your show was sold out or only had undesirable seats left. That's no worse than a normal movie theater, but this place is all about offering a better experience. Online ticketing has been "coming soon" for months, so that's a little disappointing. Once that's implemented this will be a five star review for certain.

The brand new Villagio Cinema (Cine Bistro really) is so close I could throw a stone which is fantastic! The location is on Dale Mabry just about a half mile south of Fletcher. Many eons ago it was a theater and then became a few different stores and was completely gutted and remodeled into this new beautiful space! The lobby is beautifully constructed and looks like you are in a small quaint town with high apartment windows -you would swear you are on a movie set or Disney world..... The bar and restaurant tables are open to the public regardless if you are going to see a movie. The restaurant who prepares the recipes for the food made onsite is "Villagio's" of Lutz, fl. Villagios has been around for 20+ years and is an old school extremely delicious (albeit a little too far north of Tampa) cozy place. Their full menu is not served at the theater but it is a huge menu consisting of typical movie snacks, appetizers, paninis, fresh salads, pretty good pizzas although changing the toppings was not allowed per our waiter so that is a disappointment as everything is supposedly made fresh - so we are curious about that one. My chicken parmesan was fantastic and huge. The price for everything was $10-12 which is a bit high for a salad or a sandwich but right on target for the pizza or entrees. They have a decent wine section by the glass or bottle and beers by the bucket and a full liquor bar. Here are some important caveots and tips: 1- THey say to get to your seat a half hour before the movie if you want to order food, as everything is brought out to you before the movie starts and before they dim the lights. We were in the theater half hour before and had to ask for a waiter to come in (granted they haven't even been open 2 weeks though). When they are busy you definitely will want to abide by this rule and order early. 2- Order your drinks at the bar before going in to the theater, why wait? The bartender we had was fantastic and let us sample some wins before buying a bottle. It is very smart to buy the bottle/bucket If you are consuming so you don't have to go back out and get refills during the show- the waiters don't come back in during the movie like they do over at the Tampa Pitcher Show down the street. 3- There is a 16% gratuity already included..... and that is fine, however, it does not say that on your receipt, we were not given a detailed receipt- only the signature page, and our friends who paid in cash were not given a receipt nor told about the gratuity. We overheard our waiter telling another couple about it. I don't understand why it is only 16% since the standard is at least 18% when you are going to include it. I do think it is fair for them to put it on there, especially with how many kids/teens go to the movies and might not think about service gratuity. The theaters have that brand new fresh smell and are beautiful. Ours had only 50 seats and not a bad one in the place. We got to select our seats when we walked in using a touchscreen at the ticket counter which was neat- if you are meeting friends be sure to wait for them or buy all your seats together - all seating is assigned. We used a cldeal.com coupon which was $15 for $30 towards tickets, food and drink. For two of us just to get the tickets we ended up with only $6 left on the coupon, but some friends who were over 55 used theirs and got a $10 left. The seats are fully articulating and electronically recline. Cup holders and swivel tables are at each seat.... it is ok enough space, but a tight fit if you order more than one thing to eat and have more than one drink (like a bottle or bucket) be careful with floor space and the recliners. There is TONS of leg room and a couple of people could walk in front of a fully reclined seat with no problem. YOu can take your ticket stub into Dale 1891 tiki and sports bar next door afterwards for a discount (10% at the time of this writing) which is pretty cool. Check out Dale's 3d sports TVs (Ask for the glasses) and live music and trivia shows. All in all, Villagos was great and I just bought 5 more CLdeals discounts to use for the summer. Fist run movies in 6 theaters... just need to work out the opening kinks and this place will shut down the old Pitcher Show theater in no time.

We visited Villagio Cinemas on Sunday July 7th, 2013 for the first time. Since it's just 10 min from our house, we found this very convenient. The employees, for the most part, were very nice and made our experience a good one. The only hiccup we encountered was with our food. I ordered a meatball sandwich with garlic and Parmesan fries (yummy), my husband ordered linguini with seafood, and for our sons we ordered the chicken fingers with popcorn, and pepperoni pizza. We were the first people in the cinema, and the first to order, but my eldest had to wait 30 min for his pizza, because one of the waiters didn't seem to know that we were still waiting on his food or didn't care to verify that our order was still not fulfilled. After twenty minutes, I had to call the girl who took our order and it was a further ten minutes until he actually got the pizza. Aside from that being annoying, I have to say that the food was really good, the chairs are super comfortable, and the overall experience was a very pleasant one. We'll definitely go back, and order our dinner to eat whilst watching the movie.

First time going, saw Godzilla today with my lady. I also got a meatball sandwich and she a bbq burger. This place could very easily become a new favorite of ours. The food was awesome as was the movie. Those large reclining chairs were unbelievable. Props to this place.

First, a disclaimer. I live 3 miles from Cobb CineBistro, and will never go back there (Cobb). I have found my new favorite theater! This place puts Cobb to shame, as well as every other theater in the Tampa area. Huge motorized recliners to sit in. A full bar. Good food. No screaming kids. Fair ticket and booze prices. Friendly staff and bartenders. What more could I possibly ask for....?

I love this little cinema with an Italian flare; however, their cheese pizza wasn't anything to write home to because my (at home) DIY pizzas are much tastier. Much of theater wait staff is still 'wet behind the ears' and learning. I love the recliner chairs that are throughout the theater. It would be awesome if they offer their movie tickets online; just for the convenience.

Great food, great theater, and great place to work. I worked here while finishing college and waiting for a option in my education field to open up. Nothing but positives about working here and I can say thank you for the opportunity and still say I miss the guy.

Awesome place. Beautiful lobby with live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Leather chairs in the theater were lush and comfortable and they fully recline. Sound in theater was great. Good looking waiter. Food was great. What more can you ask for? Will definitely go back there again.

First of all, the "Recommended Reviews" that you automatically see when looking at yelp reviews are far different from the "37 other reviews that are not currently recommended" (at least for the Villagio Cinemas). Please keep this in mind when reading ALL the reviews, not just the "Recommended" ones. The reason I bring this up is because they are very different from one another, and I wish I had read the "other reviews that are not currently recommended" before I went to see The Wedding Ringer tonight. A friend recommended the Villagio so I was super excited to go. Movie ticket was $10 with a student ID, only $1 more than Muvico/Carmike Cinemas. I ordered a Amaretto Sour, which was almost $9 including tax and an automatic 17% gratuity. Ok, I figured it would be a little expensive there. I wanted to try something for dinner that you can't get just anywhere, so I asked the waitress in the theater about the Chicken Parmesan sandwich. She said that it's popular. I decided to try it. After the first couple bites, I noticed that it was rather overcooked, and chewy, like rubber. It seemed like it had been pre-made and then microwaved. I asked a nearby waiter if it was microwaved and he said no. My waitress came by and I told her my concern as well. Nobody offered anything such as letting me try something else or offering my money back. Honestly, I was hungry, so I ate half the sandwich, but I would never order it again. I don't know how that sandwich is so "popular" unless everyone else had a good cook except for me. My friend ordered the meatball appetizer and said that the sauce was runny. I also ordered the Cannoli (2 included), which were good. The seats were pretty cool since they reclined. The theater audio/sound could have been louder, which would have been helpful during times when the audience was laughing and it was hard to hear the movie. On the way out, I saw a man who looked to be either a manager or owner. I told him that I liked the movie, but wanted him to know that the Chicken Parmesan sandwich was rubbery. He said, "rubbery". I confirmed, "yes". He didn't seem concerned and didn't inquire further into the situation. I left it at that. Overall, it was cool to go to the movies and recline, but I could have done that at home, for almost 100% less money, and far better food. The irritation was that the staff did not seem to care about the food quality and did not offer to make the situation better. Customer Service is everything and it's how you keep customers coming back. I might be back, but I will NOT be ordering any dinner there. And just so you know, you can lower the 17% gratuity if you want. I kept it as it, but I wish I hadn't, because the service/food was nothing great.

How can you not love this place; "leather" electric recliners, pretty much the same price as AMC or Regal, they serve alcohol and there are no kids/tweens!!!

Anyone holding back from 5 stars must want fireworks going off in the theatre & Tinkerbell as a host. I see the risk of running a business like this- entertainment & Italian restaurant quality food. It's no Olive Garden, the food is legit & is the most authentic to Campania region food I've had since coming back to the US- not loaded with seasonings if you're a flavour junkie, but they've good cause to rely on the ingredients used. My small boys ate from the adult menu (but they were pretty hungry since I didn't allow snacking beforehand)- pizza for one, a 12x6ish oval cut in fours, fresh & flavourful; spaghetti & meatballs (we were watching Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2), al dente & fresh & flavourful. We had caprese ("cheesy 'matoes" to them, they grew up in Italy- and inhaled their dinner, which says enough to me) during previews. I ate the penne sorrentina- olive oil, al dente pasta, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, & added chicken to it. I took half home since I sampled their food & was pretty stuffed. I really missed good old fashioned Italian food & was happy to pig out. Had a couple peach bellinis that were small but I can't really complain. The bar is pretty stocked. They have a restaurant area with seating upon entry & a large bar that is the centrepiece, & hostess at the register when you walk in. The staff were all really pleasant & helpful- Villagio has a system, & the employees have it down really well. The wait staff operated smoothly & provided everything we needed (salt, silver, napkins etc). When I called they suggested arriving 30 minutes early, & I understand why- they try to put the order in before the movie starts. Idk about other people but after drinks & appetisers were served & the meal order taken, our server brought the bill (might be a unique case, we really splurged), but she ran my card on a tablet & had everything on hand to print out nearby, so it was quick. I ordered another Bellini when she came to run my card, & she added it to my bill on her tablet & asked when I'd like it, & it was brought 30 minutes later as I asked. The whole place is arranged really well. After paying for the film it's a short walk to the theatre- we picked front row, which is not the same as in a normal theatre- it's more like the front row of the raised back half of a normal movie theatre. It was a slow Sunday night, but I can see the need for calling ahead of time to reserve seats- B6-B8 was perfect for us. The seats are leather recliners with buttons on the armrest to adjust electronically to your comfort. The tables are trays that swing in or out (which explains the oval pizza & the plates we ate off, rectangular to fit the trays easily, with room for drink & silver). Everything is new & clean & cared for, the bathrooms are nice- clean & decorated. We really loved this place. I spent twice what I would at a regular film (incl popcorn & drinks, which we didn't do last night), but then again, I also took my kids out to get a good meal (and we really indulged on appetisers, "add chicken to this", & drinks for me). It was totally worth not stuffing them with standard theatre junk food, & I didn't have to run around from restaurant to theatre, figuring out timing & rushing a meal, or settling for BK drive thru after. The only thing this place needs is a steady flow of patrons. The hostess mentioned they'd eventually get 3d screens, but I'm not worried. Their screens & projectors now are new & the quality is great. Overall the place is an awesome idea, well thought out, with a great staff, stocked bar, yummy & wholesome Italian food, & a top notch comfortable movie viewing experience. I regret not one dime indulged (though next time might not order half the menu lol)- my kids ate all their food, loved it, & loved the movie (ref point- my youngest manages to nap in normal theatre seats during slow parts ie the recent Superman & the long snow scene during Iron Man 3, or complains, or has to pee a dozen times- I swore I'd never waste money taking him to a film again- but last night he was a dream, & he loved every minute after we arrived). Sorry if this is long! We had the best evening & all left happy. It's a great place to go for a family or date night =)

Let me start by saying, I REALLY wanted this to be good...really. My wife and I arrived at the theater half hour like they advise you should so that we could place our drink and food order. To get into the theater, it is 12 bucks a person, higher than average, but we expected it for the convenience. We were seated in the theater with absolutely fantastic electric reclining chairs (see the one star above). The waiter came by and took our order a glass of Merlot, Crown and Cranberry... A Meatball Panini and a Chicken Parm Panini with Garlic Parmesan Fries. Also some Peanut M&M's for desert. You pay before they serve the food and before the movie starts...$68.00! The previews start at five minutes before showtime. Forty five minutes after we ordered our food, It arrives in the dark after the movie has already started. The waitress had trouble finding us and when she did, proceeded to tell us that they ran out of our fries and substituted Sweet Potato Fries instead. We did not want SP fries, but were not going to make a huge deal about it as to not to disturb other people's comedic movie. The fries as they were, were cold and the Paninis were actually subs... There was no pressing, no grill marks of any kind and to be honest, the Chicken Parm Sub that I had has a better tasting cousin at Subway... As the food was coming out to other patrons, the waiter had his cell phone turned on, presumably for the kitchen to let him know that there were orders to pick up. I knew it was on because every ten seconds a duck quack ringtone would emanate from his pants. At this point I can only hope it was a phone! After the movie ended, we were greeted in the lobby, by what I can only assume was the entire staff... our waiter, possibly a manager, a man in a white chef's frock. Looking for comments...I gave them some and a young employee looked at my wife and stated,"Well you should have come a half an hour beforehand." In unison, my wife and I said, "We did!" Look, I know that this place is just starting out and needs to grow some more, but if you know the computers are down or you know you didn't order enough food, offer a coupon to come back, or a heartfelt, "I'm Sorry." We might be back... It will be a long while though...A $92.00 long while!

Interesting venue. I enjoyed my movie and the reclining seats are awesome but it's a little weird walking out of the theater and looking straight into the kitchen and the beer is crazy expensive...nearly $15 for two locally brewed beers before tip seems a bit steep...my fault for not checking the price before ordering. I'll return to this theater again, but will certainly skip concessions beforehand and have some snacks elsewhere at a more reasonable price.

First visit tonight at the new Villagio Theater, and we will be returning for future movies! The seats are super comfortable and the food was good. The best part was the staff. They were very nice, helpful and made you feel welcome. The theater is very clean and well decorated. Go check out this theater. You will not be disappointed!

Decided on a whim to go to a movie and chose Villagio Cinema, It was new to us and in the neighborhood. We were new to this venue and had no idea where to choose our seats but the ticket sales person was very helpful and pointed out the most popular seats. We were directed to the correct cinema and shown our seats and our order for drinks and snacks was quickly taken . The only disappointment was our waiter came to collect on our bill during the beginning of the movie and we missed the first few minutes of the movie. It's not like you can hit the pause button or rewind button and we found this distracting and slightly irritating. As well as It would have been nice if the server came back at some point ( any point) to ask us if we wanted a refill on our free refillable popcorn and perhaps order another round of beverages, or offer us seconds on the refillable ones we had ordered. ( I don't feel we should have gotten up during the movie to go to the refreshment stand and have to ask for refills when we were paying for service with a 16% gratuity added on) THIS IS AN AREA THEY NEED TO WORK ON. However the comfort of the reclining leather cinema chairs was very satisfying and enjoyable (it was like we were at home in our own lazy boy recliners) The picture quality and sound was excellent. We gave them three stars and will give this venue another try. Perhaps the staff is new or not properly trained and we are willing to give this establishment another try. Mostly for the convenience and comfort and hopefully in the near future the wait staff will have the kinks worked out and make the entire experience flow with appropriate rechecks on the clients beverages and snack or meal choices and or needs as a patron met. (With out missing the movie!) Just Sayn....

I loved the idea of dinner with a movie and the people here r really nice. There's nothing bad about this place EXCEPT the terrible sound. The sound in this theater is so quiet u can hear ur neighbors eating their food... Wish the sound was better. The prices r reasonable and worth it cuz movie theater food is normally expensive anyway. Other than the sound this cinema is definitely worth coming to atleast for a try. Overall it was a really fun experience :-)

Very nice theatre and dining in Carrollwood. Catered by Villaggios but with a simplified menu. The food is good. Order items you can easily pick up as it is hard to find things that drop once the lights go out! The theaters are so nice with huge lazy boy type chairs that recline at the touch of a button. Each chair has a tray that swings in or out for easier dining. The aisles are very wide so the theatre space feels open and very roomy. Tickets are a dollar or so more than other movie theaters. Food prices are bout $12 for an entree choices that run from panninis or subs to pizza and other easy to pick up items. They do have regular movie theater food like popcorn and candy. You may order alcoholic drinks as well as soda. Arrive about 20 minutes before the how if you want to order food. You order and pay before the movie starts. We love it and have sat I several theaters - all are nice. Very fun!

This was our second visit to the Villagio Cinemas in Carrollwood. Our first visit was on June 28 to see "White House Down". ( facebook.com/jim.roysdon… ) We went in early (11am) this Saturday (July 20) to get our seats reserved for Red2. Someone beat us to the ones we wanted for our group, but then again, we knew there really was not bad seats in this theater. After our first visit, we decided we were going to eat somewhere else first. Well plans do not always work out and we had no time to go out before hand, so we decided we were willing to give the restaurant portion a second chance. We arrived about 45 minutes early. We were waiting on one more from our party and tried to talk in the lounge, but with the entertainer singing (loudly) we could not. And when our group was all there, we went into the theater. It was their first time and they were impressed with the seating. One of our friends ordered the "Italian Burger" and asked for it to be medium well. She also ordered the fries. I ordered the "Meatball Panini" with chips, my wife ordered the "Pasta Trio" and we ordered a special dessert (Profiterole). We knew our food would be delivered when it was ready. They delivered a plate of friends to our friend of nothing but fries. Shortly afterwards, they came out with her burger and there were even more fries on her plate (more fires than she would ever eat). Her burger was also very pink. more medium rare than medium well. My "panini" came out and it was not pressed; it was a meatball sub (with chips). Shortly after, my wife's pasta came out. It came to her in three small dishes in what I would call ramekin dishes. We also got to soft drinks. The bill came out to over $55 for my wife and myself. I am sorry, but that was too much. Any Italian restaurant would have been embarrassed by the food. My sandwich was something that any bar could have put together, bland and not pressed (as a Panini should be) and the chips were stale and soggy, all for $12.00. As I said, in regards to the pasta "dish", the quantity (or lack there of) and quality (none of it was fresh pasta) was not worth the $16.00. The Profiterole was also a prefabbed or premade frozen dish. Any Italian chef should know how to make these from scratch. So, for this second review, I would not raise my ratings. The food was highly disappointing (lower than average pub grub) and very over priced. To be fair, we have been to other "dinner theaters" and the our bills came in lower, the food was better and the service was either continuous (which we did not care for) or an intermission was offered (where the wait-staff came in and sold more drinks). We will return to see movies there as the seats are quite comfortable and smaller theater is more intimate, but we will not be eating there again (except for maybe popcorn and a drink, as they are competitively priced).

We went to this theater today and it was horrible! We were there 30 minutes before the movie started for the in- theater dining experience. Well... No one showed up to take our order. We had to go to the bar to place our order after waiting 25 minutes! A little while later an employee shows up with my order but not my daughter's order. We thought she was going to return with the other order but she didn't. We had to go back to the bar (during the movie) to ask for the second order. Both employees that brought our food had attitudes. It was like we were bothering them.... Yet they were quick to charge us a gratuity of 17%! The service was horrible! And.... When we walked into the theater it smelled like cat litter! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Our first time at Villagio Cinemas was to see Jurassic World this afternoon. I wish I could rate it 3.5 stars. The Good: the reclining chairs; we can bring our 12 and 15 year olds; reserved seating; decent food selection. The So-So: food is pricey; we ordered before the previews and my husband and my salads (salads!) didn't arrive until 15 minutes into the movie. I was so stressed out that one of us might have to check on our order that I couldn't enjoy the beginning of the movie. Only 2 stalls in the ladies restroom which makes a quick in and out almost impossible. Tickets not sold online. My husband felt that the theater was too warm, but I felt comfortable. Someone in the restroom before me said she saw a roach inside, but I didn't see it. Overall it was a decent experience. I love that I can take my teens to dine-in-movies as opposed to CineBistro which is 21+. Will definitely give it another shot.

The last time I visited the Villagio was when I saw American Sniper. Last night, my boyfriend and I joined another couple to see The Gift at 4:30. We arrived 30 minutes prior to the movie start time since it was opening weekend for the movie. We bought our tickets and chose our seats, no problem. We sat at the bar to order our food and drinks before the movie and the bartender didn't acknowledge is for a good 5-10 minutes even though he was in arms length of me at the register. When he did finally acknowledged us and ask what we'd like to order I felt like he was rushing us to order. When our food was delivered to our seats in the theater they didn't bring us plates or utensils, so I had to go and ask for them at the bar. The staff member who I had to ask for utensils and a refill seemed annoyed that I even asked... Cool, what exactly do you get paid to do? Lol. I can see how many Yelpers agree that this place is slowly going downhill which is sad because it's a great asset to the Carrollwood area and makes going to AMC or Regal seem so blah, but if the service and attitude of the staff members doesn't improve then I do not see the Villagio lasting.

Definitely the most comfortable movie theater seats in Tampa. It's nice being able to put my feet up from any seat, rather than just in the front or back row like at Cinebistro. The food and cocktail offerings are not as good as they are at Cobb Cinebistro, but they aren't bad. Certainly the prices are lower. But don't expect anything on their menu to expand your horizons.

Our favorite movie theater! Seats are so comfy and prices aren't too bad for the movie. The only negative in my eyes is the price of the food and drinks. But the food is actually pretty good. And drinks are strong, so at least you're getting your money's worth. Worth the splurge once in awhile.

Service keeps getting worse at Villagio, which is a shame because we'd like to continue giving them our business. This time we ordered a pizza and two drinks. The pizza arrived; the drinks never did even though we asked the server about them when the pizza was delivered. Of course the server who was going to "check on them" did not and nothing was resolved, nor did the server even appear again. This has been our repeated experience at Villago where you are still forced to pay 17% tip for what is consistently the worst service I have experienced anywhere. Finally left the theatre mid-movie to go to the bar and get the drinks myself. Time to give CineBistro or other similar concepts a try.

Most likely will never come back here. Completely dirty inside and the hostess up front was rude and the service (just for wine) was simply awful. I am glad I chose not to eat here and grab a bite to eat before our movie. Cinebistro compared to this dump is definitely a much better choice when it comes to dinner and a movie that's for sure. The gratuity should not already be included for this place either.. If so, perhaps spend that money on a vacuum and carpet cleaner.

Although the Villagio is a nice place to relax, kick back your feet and lounge in huge leather recliners to watch a movie, if you are looking for the total surround sound high definition type of screening, then you may want to skip out on this place. The movie screens are some what lack luster and the sound is pretty abysmal for a true movie theater experience IMHO. Also, we were often distracted by the loud noises that the swinging doors made from servers going back and forth serving movie watching patrons through out the whole movie. The true highlight is that you can order plates of food & a full service liquor bar with decent drink prices & cool new movie themed selections. The food is not too bad but nothing spectacular, as many of the selections are pretty standard Italian dishes that you would see at any local Italian restaurant. We came here to watch Jurassic world, and while i did have a good time eating fried calamari though out my movie, i think i would have had a better experience watching this flick in an IMAX sounded theater as the sound wasn't as earth shattering as i've come to be spoiled with. Especially with a flick such as Jurassic World, where the sound effects adds a whole new dimension to your movie, i couldn't help but leave this place just feeling eh.

Still two stars, still very inconsistent, still on the decline... In the words of Forrest Gump, This place is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get. The food is no longer worth discussing. Either stick with the popcorn or order a meal and cross your fingers. If your order meets your expectation, just hope and pray that it comes out the same way on your next visit. Some days are ok, some days are just bad. If you go for the comfortable seating and the alcohol, you might do just fine. Can't help but think of the potential though. It's the believe me. They have a great location, a cool bar right next door, and a decent lobby. Why not create a reliable app where you can reserve your seat and maybe place your order. Hire an experienced staff, a new Chef wouldn't hurt... Just push the reset button already.

Cockroaches and all I really LIKE this place ! I went when they first opened and it was myself and a friend alone in the movie theater, last time I came it was packed ! Which really makes me happy, it's a cool concept. The food is delish. The only part I did not like was my family and I could not sit together.

Went to watch Jurassic World. I really want to like this place and come back but.. I think the bar is the only reason to come back and you don't need a ticket to go to the bar! That's a plus. You walk in and it feels like a theater but they have a huge bar. We sat down and got a couple of drinks because we arrived a bit early for our movie. Let's just say their pours speak truth! Definitely worth your money liquor wise! On to the theater. We walked into an intimate sized room and there were rows of recliner seats! How could you not get excited. We found our seat and sat down. They are more pleather than leather but they reclined with a plus of the button, only complaint is that it doesn't recline back if you don't put the leg part all the way back. So seating was a bit awkward for me. Service was great. The minute we sat down a server was following behind to greet us and take our order. Food prices are normal and there are lots of different options from apps to entrees! We got the calamari and it was good and a massive bucket of popcorn. Now on to my movie watching experience. It's NO IMAX so don't expect awesome sound, there was decent sound but not amazing. The amazing sound I DID hear EVERY SINGLE TIME someone got up to go to the bathroom or servers were bringing in food during the movie was the kitchen Staff hooting and hollering, Every time the door opened it was like someone was about to go into a night club. So that was the downfall to me. Ticket price is great only $12 but the outside noise you hear every time someone gets up to go to the bathroom/bar or the server comes in will definitely ruin your movie experience. 50/50 on if i'd go back...

The best thing about this cinema: they have reclinable chairs that also elevate your legs...!! I loved that part! If youre're looking for wheelchair friendly seating...you can transfer easily into the chairs as well because the arm rests go up. It was awesome! Another plus is that they serve food and alcoholic beverages at the cinema...that's a service you can't get everywhere. However! the food left a lot to be desired. I order the Blueburger. It was ok at best. I did not really taste the blue cheese. The burger tasted very bland, it had that cardboard taste frozen burgers have. My friend ordered the sangria...it was watered down wine with an orange floating in it. I was very disappointed with the food specially for the price, that was a 14 dollar burger. The service was great! The server that attended to us was very helpful and she checked on us appropriately. Everything we asked for was brought promptly to us. I would return, I have not found a more comfortable seat in all of Tampa. I don't know if I'll order a meal next time due to my experience. Maybe just one of their snacks or appetizers to munch on, something safe.

Very nice facility! Loved the reclining chairs! However do not order the nachos, they don't come with much on them, and ours was burned. The pizza was pretty good. The food and drinks are pretty pricey!! The overall experience was good.

Really hate to have to look for a new theater, but this place has gone completely downhill...it just kept getting worse since my original 4 star review over a year ago. My complaints from my last review (not taking away plates, no lighting, no way to order tickets online, etc) are still all complaints, but I have so many new ones: 1. The food here is a complete joke now. The Gorgonzola Salad...I noticed the last time I ordered it, it was all wrong and the dressing was no longer fresh...it's now completely off the menu. All the foods left on the menu is entirely different and in the worst way possible. The pizzas are now frozen and gross. The calamari is frozen and seasoned wrong and the tomato sauce is some jarred cheap stuff. 2. This is what happens when there's a mandatory 18% gratuity: HORRIBLE SERVICE. They hired a bunch of kids who don't care. Why? Because they know they'll get their tip anyway. I even tried to remedy some of the issue by asking for a dessert to be delivered an hour into the movie so that they can clear our plates. Not only did 2 runners not bring me side plates for our pizza when they said they would, but when one of the little liars came back to deliver my dessert she was reluctant to takes the plates they served the food in away....but I insisted she took them. 3. Unkept restrooms. They are small. There are only 2 women stalls and one was out of order. You can see the men pissing when the door opens. 4. Nasty kitchen and workers. As I waited for my family in the restrooms I watched this new kitchen crew from the open "cucina" door. There was a guy slicing bread...no gloves. Then some of the servers were scratching their faces and wiping sweat off their brows and then touching the bread...and for no real reason. No one had gloves on. It feels like they decided to take away everything that was good about Villagio and decided to make them all bad. Villagio is no longer worth it. I'll have to start going to cinebistro for a dinner and a movie experience all in one. If I can say one good thing that warranted 2 stars and not just one...I'd still come here for the seats as opposed to a standard teeny bopper filled theater....I just won't order any food. What the hell is going on? Is it new ownership? New management? Whatever it is it needs to change back to whatever made this place work back in the Spring of 2014.

Eh. The only redeeming quality about this theater is that: 1. Tickets are around the same price as normal theaters BUT you get comfy seats compared to a normal theater. So its a win situation for comfiness. But sadly the cons greatly outweigh the pros. I picked this theater compared to our normal traditional theater because I wanted to try something new, but I think I rather go to a normal theater instead...yelp you failed me. Is the ownership run by teenagers? The Cons: 1. Service here sucks. We came in on a Saturday night and we notice that a majority of workers there were not at their stations (no worker was at their "bakery/sweets" section) and instead they just congregated and talked amongst themselves. The bar was not busy when we went to get our soda before the movie starts, but the two bartenders were super slow, and doing their own thing while we waited, waited and waited. I even told the fiance, this is the first time out of the many times (whenever we go to bars), I wasn't able to catch the attention of any of the "bartenders". Also know 18% tip is included already. Free tips for doing below satisfactory work...must be nice to work here and do nothing. 2. I have a huge feeling that the things at the bakery were brought from the Sam's Club just up north the road. The chocolate eclairs there were identical to the ones on sale at sams club (which were on sale this week for $7.99). Seriously, just look at them. The bakery selections were below par and minimal, as if it was like a high school fundraising event (it literally felt like that with the .50 cent posters with washable markers drawings advertising what the have). So if you want your sweets carry a big bag and you will save lots of money. Service here is below satisfactory so even if you carried a to-go meal from one of the nearby restaurants they probably won't care. 3. Just walking towards your theater room, the smell of the bathroom/trash lingers. Also know the bathroom entrance doors close super slow so you should assist by manually closing it our people will see you doing your thing. 4. They do sell dinner here while you can watch your movie, but I am really happy we didn't buy any of the food. Someone who sat next to me ordered the popcorn with garlic/herb (?) butter and the smell smelled like shit. 5. Even though they get automatic 18% tip, the workers here look so miserable. 6. The employees looking miserable makes me wonder if they ever do a full clean for those seats... 7. After that night, I rather deal with everyone else at the movies than drunk adults. I don't want to know what happens in the end of the movie before I see it in a few minutes, or listen to your conversations about your sperm, infidelity, and sexual urges. Never going back. I experience better service at the traditional theaters anyways.

Ok this place is just a bit weird, but in a good way. Not very well known due to its offset location it has a funky feel that you wonder if it's a restaurant or a movie theater and not both or one. Can't discuss the food but the seats in the place are top notch as is the wait service. Just an odd place that makes you wonder what it is trying to be!

Very disappointed to see that the quality of food and service has declined. I questioned Villagio putting out this quality of food now and was told that they no longer are partnered with the theatre. Bring them back... Villagio served great food. Even the kids food was fair at best. Next time, we'd eat first and get drinks and popcorn at the theatre.

What a letdown after the previous visit. Tickets are different price at counter than on website. Kids are suddenly full price after 5? Not on the website. But it is, according to the woman at the counter. When ordering food, you have to go to the bar if you show up early to eat before the movie. 2 couples were waited on before I was even acknowledged. Young guy that took my order acted like he was doing me a favor taking my order. "Hey man, I'm trying to work with you". On what? Then, prices are different than the menu. That got fixed with a little more indifference. $50 for 2 personal pizzas and 2 soft drinks? I don't expect attitude. Wow. To top it off, at 8:10pm, while waiting for food, a manager shows up and tells me that the food has been sitting in the kitchen waiting for the movie. The movie starts at 8:30pm. So, it's ok for our food to sit for half an hour before we get it? I give up. Back to overpriced popcorn at Veterans 24!

I would give them 5 stars if I were only rating the comfort of their fully reclinable movie seating. However, the food there is some of the worst I have ever had. I have ordered the basics like pizza and last tried a chicken entree. The veggies were literally flavorless, soggy, mush. The chicken was like eating rubber. But me and my girlfriend enjoy the seating so much that we will go and order a bottle of wine and watch a movie. Never again will we order food. Its kind of ironic that just this week we saw that they were on dirty dining. Not surprised at all.

Worst service I've ever had. Good thing the movie was funny and the seats were comfy. The person who took our order was rude and unaccommodating - she said "Um...I'm kinda new and I've never had anyone order that so I don't know if you can get the sauce on the side..." Then the waiter who delivered our food, when asked if could get us salt and pepper said " I don't know where the salt and pepper is." And never followed up however made frequent visits to what seemed to be his girlfriend seated next to us. The service was a joke. The food was overpriced and reminiscent of stadium quality. I won't come back.

Villagio used to be a great place to see a movie, but in the last few months it's gone downhill. The bathrooms are filthy and usually at least one is out of order. And often the chairs in the theatre are also broken. Our last three visits the air conditioning was barely functioning and food and beverage service was beyond slow. Today we pre-purchased tickets and arrived at the theatre to find people in the seats we selected. They printed tickets for us for the wrong show. Our money was refunded and we left. The manager seemed defeated and didn't even try to keep us as customers. As much as I like to support local business, I think my support of Villagio has come to an end.

Been wanting to see a movie here for ages. The hubby and I finally had the opportunity recently and decided to catch a matinee. Open Monday to Thursday 12:00 pm to 10:30 pm -- Friday to Sunday 11:30 am to 1:00 am. La-Z-Boy leather seats that electrically recline, reserved seating, and food/beverage service? Score! Brilliant concept and let me tell you -- the seats were super comfortable. Thank goodness these recliners are big enough so that you are not rubbing elbows with the stranger sitting next to you. The food was ok but nothing spectacular. Menu offered appetizers, salads, entrees, homemade meatballs, pizza and desserts. The husband ordered a cheeseburger with fries (he really liked it) -- my individual meatball pizza seemed off to me. I only ate one slice -- the crust was super chewy. I consider myself a good tipper and always leave more than 20%. Was a little bummed that there was no waitress available that day to deliver our food and we still had to tip 17% (husband had to wait at the bar to pick up our food). There is a full bar with American and Italian wines, import/domestic beers, and cocktails --Happy Hour Monday through Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. For all you educators and medical personnel -- you get 10% off food and drink Monday through Thursday with proof of employment. We would be willing to try Villagio again. Maybe next time they will have waiter/waitress service -- cannot beat sitting in a recliner to catch a newly released movie.

Great place to watch a movie while having drinks and maybe popcorn. Food needs some work, be cautious on your choices. There is a look requirements apperently to work here! Guys slow down they like everyone, not just you! Ladies not to worry some hunk for you to flirt with as well! Overall a decent place to bring a date, but keep your eyes on YOUR date!

Things I love about this theatre- -the chairs...they recline...and have rotating tables for your food and drinks -the drinks are strong, therefore totally worth it. -the ticket prices are only $2 more than a normal movie theater -the screens are a good size and the rows are spaced far enough apart so nobody's head is in front of you. -the temperature is always comfy -the garlic Parmesan fries are absobloodylutely amazing. Love! Things I'm not too crazy about- -the wait staff. Some are good and friendly, and some are just rushed. If you aren't ready to order when they come to your chair, they'll leave and then when you are finally ready to order it's almost impossible to get their attention. I understand the theater gets packed and they are busy....but maybe have more than 2 waiters per theater.... -the past few times I've ordered a drink to be delivered halfway thru the movie and it was delivered like 30 minutes into the movie and I wasn't nearly done with the first one... -the food is just ok. Not bad, not great...I mostly just order the garlic parm fries and a beer Love this theatre. It's way more comfortable and enjoyable than a normal theatre.
