Being fairly new to this part of town, we weren't familiar with restaurants. We ran across Top Thai and took a chance. FYI - I have been to Thailand so I'm always critical whenit comesto this cuisine! With that being said, the food and service here were excellent. Na, our server, was lovely. I had the red curry and my husband had the sweet and sour stir fry. I would have given 5 stars but the green beans could have been cooked a tad longer and the outside front of the restaurant makes you question whether you should go inside. The answer is yes you should! Definitely would recommend, and will go back.

Great little place! Very very friendly service! Even recognized my friend from 2 months ago! Fresh spring rolls are great!

We were hungry and this was in the area. Did not like the food except for their soups. Curry was okay. Crab Rangoon was mediocre- I could tell it was a packaged crab salad stuffing. Papaya salad has no spice whatsoever. We had to ask for spice tray and even then it did not helped. This was the first time I had ever not finished a dish or take it home in a to go container. Mussamum curry with chicken was okay- had a lot of potatoes and I don't like potatoes. The only thing we liked were the soups- tom yum and tom ka- both with shrimp. They were the only flavorful items. We really enjoyed these. The server looked really young and kept running around. The owners and staff were very friendly so it's kind of hard for me to write a review like this but overall we did not enjoy the food and that's the important thing. Will not be returning but I encourage you to try them out for yourself. It might just be that I'm used to a certain taste when it comes to Thai food. Their website also says that they deliver which is a plus.

Quite tasty. My fave part was the salad dressing. It tasted like a combination of peanut sauce and coconut milk I think. They stated it was homemade. It had a sweetish taste that I have never tasted before. Very satisfying. I ordered lard nar noodles which or whose noodles like the size of Alfredo noodles. They came w a brown type gravy w pepper and chicken and broccoli. I haven't had this before and not sure if there is more gravy here than the usual but it still had a gd flavor. Thai ice tea was yummy. They didn't have the fresh spring rolls that I love. The restaurant itself had simple and nice decorations and a big mural. Quite simple but nice. Service was very nice and no problems. Check it out!!!

I stopped at Top Thai for the first time for a take out order. They had a nice lunch menu with a lot of great options. I ordered the pad pik khing with chicken. They didn't ask how spicy I wanted it so it was a good opportunity to see how spicy they make things automatically. It was very good and the spice was medium, just how i like it. The string beans and peppers were nice and fresh and the chicken was tender. Along with my order they provided jasmine rice and a really good salad with a peanut dressing. The decor is nothing fancy but it is clean so I would probably order take out or take advantage of the free delivery with a $20 minimum when the family is in the mood for Thai.

Horrible experiences. We were the only guest there and waited 44 mins for the food to arrive , went to ask for a straw the lady told me to get it myself .... Poor service. Never coming back again!!!!!!

I love this place! the people are sweet the foodis amazing! Great beer selection! and the people there are so super sweet and acomodating. The people here are actually from thailand,so in turn any dolt of a human that says its not authentic cause';ive been to thailand' is full of crap.that person doesnt understand that food is like a dialect,it changes all over the country and this is authentic thai and is delicious! BRAVO!

Just had lunch here- AMAZING! Nice looking restaurant too. Every lunch begins with a small salad with yummy peanut dressing. Then we had spring rolls. These were very fresh and came with a clear plum sauce- great. My lunch companion had the Tom ka soup. Said it was the best they'd had. The flavors were very distinct with a wonderful coconut and lime taste. We had the Pad thai and the spicy fried rice. Both were very good. The spicy rice is truly spicy! We will be back here.... A lot.

The massuman chicken curry is delicious. My kids like the red curry. They deliver, which is nice, but they are expensive. We tried the calamari appetizer two days ago and it was terribly disappointing. The whole portion was about 1/5 the size that Italian restaurants give you. Very weird. Anyway, I'd order the curries again but never the calamari. We are huge Thai eaters and very picky so if you want good curry, eat here :)

Meat is not fresh. Chicken, pork and beef all taste like rubber. Give it one try, second try and third try all disappointed. Will not go back again.

Absolutely love! I order takeout a few times a month. The soups and chicken basil are my favorites, but I've never had something I didn't like. Plus the owners are two of the sweetest women ever.

Best Asian food in North Tampa area for middle class families. Here is a quick review great for people who love spicy food, exotic food lover can ask for special orders and they will be made if available. The staff are friendly and since it is a family owned restaurant they are going above and beyond to make your visit worth a while. Their dessert are phenomenal especially the fried bananas. My favorite dish is the fried frog leg dish or you can get it with any other meat including deboned duck. Hope this help.

I love this place! I have a traveling job that takes me from north tampa to sarasota. I love it when my route is around wesley chapel so I can grab lunch here! It is very authentic, and more along the lines of thai you would get in ny. The owner is always there and the service is great. They also have the BEST peppers to go with your meal. A++

Savory food, good service. I've been here a few times and haven't been disappointed yet. If your in the New Tampa area and craving Thai food, this is a good option.

"Authentic Thai"? "Best Thai food ever"? I've been to a lot of thai places in my life, this one was pretty terrible. The food had no flavor, no spice, and all tasted vaguely packaged. I ordered spring rolls and vegetable pad Thai, the spring rolls were clearly store bought. The pad Thai had no flavor, the vegetables (cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots) were obviously previously frozen, possibly nuked in the microwave and thrown on top. I had high expectations for this place but nothing was tasty at all. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Everything was just average. Hit one of my pet peeves, serving shrimp in a dish with the tail on! Got their right when it opened, chef was late but we decided to stay and wait, since the wife & I rarely get Thai.

Best, perhaps only, Thai food you're gonna get this far north. It's super cute inside too.

Only went here because nearby Sukho was closed on Sunday and based on the other Yelp reviews this seemed like a good bet. Wrong! The food was sub par, the decor/furniture is 100% strip mall and the priced too high for what you get. The people working here are really nice but they barely speak English which made ordering difficult. I have no idea how this place rates better than 2 stars. I would never go back and would instead highly recommend Sukho Thai which is probably the best Thai food i have had in central Florida.

This place is REMARKABLY good, despite its humble exterior. If you enjoy authentic Thai food, you owe it to yourself to find this place and try it. It's located on Bruce B. Downs just south of County Line Rd, on the right-hand side. They share a small plaza with Tire Choice and a MedExpress Clinic. The place is family-run, has a lovely little dining room, and a wide variety of authentic Thai dishes. The menu does a good job of explaining what each entree is, but if you have any questions, just ask the lady who manages the dining room and also helps out in the kitchen. She's one of the nicest people around. :) Oh, and not all Thai food is hot. Don't fear the heat! Any dish can be made mild. Please consider giving this place a try; it's brand new (opened in March), and not a lot of locals have discovered it yet. It's very convenient to New Tampa and Wesley Chapel. Patronize this fantastic new place today, no chain restaurant can even come close to this quality! Website is: topthaitampa.com

I went there twice. I admited the vegetarian curry panang is alright, my hubby's pad thai is pretty good too. However, I was soooooo disappointed for their eggplant dish. Shame on them. Asian eggplant should be really tender and good. I had them recooked it. yet it was just too OLD the eggplant. At least the Thai dessert was good. Don't remember the name. The price is too high. I know that the rent just eats them up.

Hmmmmm, maybe you should change your name "Top Thai," you're not so Top for me. We've been here twice and both times have just been okay. When you walk in, there's a lingering smell that I can't quite put my finger on to describe well. I think it's coming from the water fountain they have in the restaurant. Your nose will get used to smell after 5 minutes or so. The food came out and was just okay, I've had better. The free salad they give during lunch time is pretty decent. Meh, maybe I've just been spoiled by Noodle N Thai on E Fowler. The prices here definitely don't meet the quality I expected. The service is good, and they'll give you a spice box if you want more heat by request. This place has some good potential, the location is great, and so is the service, but they definitely need to get rid of that smell and improve the quality of the food.

Of the several Thai places in New Tampa, this is the worst. Overcooked prefab food. We were only here once. Our server was clueless, putting her fingers inside our glasses, a basic no no. She did not know enough about the food to answer simple questions or make recomendations, and the owner was continuously correct her. I would skip it for any of the others.

This place has the best Thai food around. The Pad Thai was excellent. I also loved the special which is shrimp with pineapple rice. The salmon special was great as well. We had fried banana with ice cream for dessert, also great. The owner is as nice as can be and makes sure everyone is happy. The chef is also an owner so makes sure all the food is great and her presentation is beautiful. Definitely a must go to restaurant .

This place is a mom and pop type of stop with a average sized dining area for groups of people to come in to enjoy lunch or dinner. The staff is ultra friendly and we have never had an issue with the food portion, quality or time. One thing you will notice is the menu is on the small side for some Thai places, but whatever they do they do it well. For some the pad thai is a little dry, but it is better a little dry than greasy by loading too much tamarind. Also they have a keen eye on the spice when you ask for a medium or thai medium they understand the difference so your palette does not get obliterated by too much heat. Their curry dishes are a little too milky for me, but my wife loves them. Their appetizers are average with the exemption of the Sate which is awesome. Their other noodle and dishes are well made with a delicate hand in the kitchen, their pad woon sen is absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend.

I've had the red curry chicken and the dumplings here and they are excellent. Not blown away by the pad Thai that my GF got, but it was solid.

I wanted to like this restaurant, but I have to be honest. The appetizers were good, a bit overpriced but as long as it tastes good .... The shrimp wrapped in a crispy wontons were good and the potato and curry stuffed in a baked dough were very good. The shrimp pad thai was good but the pineapple rice was awful, no flavor at all. The fried ice cream was pretty good. I guess it's hit or miss. I will try it again and give them one more chance, as the staff was so nice.

Good food and great service. I got the lunch special pad thai, which was both tasty and affordable. I was lucky enough to meet one of the owners who was sooo sweet and gracious. The pic of her granddaughter by the kitchen was adorable! I would go here again just to support their business. I also liked the interior decoration and general atmosphere. Will def be back!

The place smelled like sewer water, the waitress spilled a beer on us, and the manager was rude to us because we couldn't understand the writing on our bill. Food was "ok", but I will not return here, Lemon Grass in south Tampa is way better.

I always like to try soups so I asked the owner who was serving us how the soup is made, she answered rudely and asked me whay I want to know! Anyway I ordered the chicken curry and it was half cooked! And the portion was small too!

The owner is super nice. I'm not sure what she says half the time, but it's even better this way, adds more character. She takes a lot of pride in her food. Most of the time the food is really good. I love the spice caddy they give you to obviously spice things up. Try fried banana one day!

Excellent food for the value. Pad Thai was just delicious and the Service was very friendly, space is very comfortable and even if the location is strange, the visit was worth it. Come as soon as you can!

I love this place and the sweet lady that is always here working hard. I have been coming to this place for +3 years and was only disappointed once. Everything is fresh and well cooked. The service is always excellent and the music they play in the background is very relaxing. For all the spicy food lovers I recommend the spicy Thai fried rice with a little extra spice. You will not be disappointed!!!!

The food was superb! Top Thai is an unassuming restaurant in a strip mall, however, the quality to any fine Thai restaurant. Our waitress was friendly and attentive.

I have been coming to this restaurant ever since they opened and I consistently get great service and great food every time I come. My wife and I really love the place and even my kids like Thai food now because of coming here. We also love that it is so close to Meadow Point.

Was disappointed w/ the delivery service. Pad thai was sticky and dry- they didn't even ask me how I wanted it spice wise. I asked for chicken and shrimp in which they charged me $2 extra when I only got 3 shrimp.
