good prices good lunch special the food here is good. the service is good as well... their black seaweed is really god, give it a shot. their sake is well priced. I love the fact that they bring out the hot towels for your hands before your meal, it is simple little acts like this that make you remember a place. I haven't been in a while but i hope it hasn't changed. YUM!

I've only eaten here once, but it was delicious! I decided to try eel for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised. If you can get past the kind of weird texture, you'll love it. And if not, there are plenty of other options here!

Well we tried this place out I am not a sushi person but the husband is. Husband order chef special and it was o.k I ordered a sesame chicken that also was not the best. I will say the service is awesome but the food was o.k.

Recently I went back to Tokyo Sushi after over a year since my last visit and I enjoyed some pretty amazing Tataki with various fish - it was very filling and the quality was excellent. As far as the rolls go, all of them were fresh and I was really impressed because it was the excellence I previously recognized in the place when I used to visit with friends for parties and lunch outings. The quality of the nigiri and sashimi is usually great and there is a huge variety of rolls on the menu - so each experience can allow for experimentation. I love the J-Pop and various other Asian songs that play here as well. This has been one of my favorites in town and I hope to go more this year in 2014!

This place is okay. Nice hole in the wall place. There was absolutely no one in the place when we went. So it made me nervous service was good. Sushi was good. But the place is missing any sort of things to keep me entertained all I heard my whole meal was complete silence.

Yummerz! This place is really simple. The staff was friendly. I absolutely LOVED the sushi. I can't remember what we got ... I sometimes black out while I'm eating because I enjoy food so much (-__-) #DontJudge #FatKidTendencies ... but I know the sushi was really good. It's a nice place to just chill and eat some sushi when you are in the mood for it, nothing fancy. I will definitely go back.

Nothing really fancy here just good eats. I've been going here off and on for years now. The staff is always really friendly and helpful. The volcano roll is really good. My favorite thing to get is the tuna tataki the sauce is great and a nice kick to it I order it with a side bowl of rice that way I can dump the extra sauce on the rice. Nice selection of saki also.

This place is horrible. The server decided to sell me a 16.00 crock pot of disgusting seafood soup when I asked for a bowl of rice or noodles for my 7yr old. Then when we didn't eat it,( I said noodles and veggies sound fine, no meat though)... the mgr took 15% off the bill instead of removing the soup. And of course nobody told me it was 16.00 when they ordered it. RIPOFF!! And my Japanese bagel roll had lox inside. DISGUSTING.

This place is kind of hidden amongst other places and is right behind Applebees and near USF Tampa campus. When you walk inside, you see a desk with the typical Asian lady and the bamboo decor. The windows give an authentic feel with the paper and wooden frames like you see in Japanese habachi rooms. Inside is nice because it is very open and the sushi bar is adjacent from the entrance. I came to meet friends during lunch after getting out of classes and the first thing I look at are the lunch specials. Their assortment of lunch specials are reasonably priced ($8-$11) and they come with soup or salad. I got the Lunch box B because it comes with sushi, sashimi (love), cucumber salad and some sweet black seaweed (yum). It was pretty busy when I got there because it is during most people's lunch breaks. The server got our drink and food orders down right away. Despite it being very busy, we got our food right away. I was pleasantly surprised, my theory was that had some pre-made ahead, but who knows. It was still really good nonetheless. The lunch box has enough where it can be shared with a friend. I also tried the Tuna Tataki appetizer ($12) which was amazing! The tuna sashimi is sliced thin, spread onto a savory, tangy and spicy ponzo sauce, and topped with green scallions and smelt roe. It was so good that every time I returned, I ordered that. I even got my friend hooked on it. When I order sushi rolls, I often dip my rolls into the left over sauce itself because it's so good. Come try it for yourself! You will love it!

Will not be returning to this little dive. Had lunch here while out running errands thanks to the reviews of my fellow Yelp-ers. I will say this...the sushi chefs sent us a free roll for being newbies...however, it wasn't very good. I had one roll that was better than the others and it was a spicy tuna roll. Too much rice, the roll fell apart, and it wasn't very spicy. All in all, not my kind of place. The lunch special where you get three rolls to sample for $11.95 could be nice if the sushi were actually tasty. Too bad too because they have a pretty nice selection of fish pairings within the rolls. Sushi Alive is ALWAYS worth the drive from my house so it's still number one when I'm in Tampa.

I can't say this place is bad....just really underwhelming. Let me clarify that I am a NYer with a daughter at USF and we are a bit of sushi snobs as there are so many good spots here in NYC. The sushi certainly was fresh enough but very clumsily wrapped; almost too much fish! And the dragon roll and such was overwhelmed by sauce. It just wasn't great, although certainly not bad. Nowhere near as good as Sushi Tsu.
