I went here last week for a lunch with co-workers and this might be the best Tijuana Flats I have been to so far. The guacamole was fresh and flavorful and delicious and although it took forever for my steak tacos they were delicious. My co-worker was celebrating her birthday so she got a free dessert which she shared with the table. She ended up getting cookie dough flautas (sp?) that came with a chocolate dipping sauce. I can't say I liked it but I can't say I hated it either. The molten cookie dough oozed out of the cannoli type shell and at that point I didn't like it. Dipped in chocolate I liked it. I don't know...as you see I'm on the fence so you'll have to try them and make your own opinion. I'll be keeping this Tijuana Flats in my Mexican food craving rotation. Especially because they have taco Tuesday deals.

Great food for a decent price. I recommend going to Tuesday for Taco Tuesday or Thursday for Burrito Thursday. You can eat and get a drink for less than $7 and the food is good.

The menu is pretty much variations of the same items. This place is always good for quick and fresh tacos or burritos. The music is good and there is outside seating but the parking lot usually fills up fast. Check out the deals during the week and military/veterans do receive a discount with proper ID.

Their food is great! Their prices are great! But always, I mean always, I'm waiting for my food forever! This is an issue when it's not that busy, you see the staff chatting and hanging out when your food is on the counter getting cold.

$2 Bud Lights and Miller Lites. Was there on a Tuesday, but I wasn't down for taco Tuesday...I was in for a chimichanga to go - yum! I also discovered their crack rock addictive fried cookie dough flauta dessert. Wowza :)

The food is not great. Its pretty much expensive taco bell. Today was my first and last day coming here. You are better off across the street at Moe's.

Great fish tacos. Great hot sauce bar. Want hotter? They have hot sauce so hot (behind the bar) that you have to sign a waiver to try it!

Great restaurant concept -- Upon entering the restaurant we were immediately greeted and asked if this was our first visit. Regulars "know the drill" and oftentimes know what they want to order. After ordering at the counter, our cashier brought our drinks to us at the table and introduced us to the salsa bar. Tijuana Flats features a wonderful variety of salsas that definitely sets them apart from their competitors. TF reminds me of Aqui -- aquicalmex.com -- in California, but with a more limited menu!

I use to live in San Diego and I was spoiled with the best Mexican ever, even fast food restaurants like Rubios delivers. T Flats the staff is extremely friendly but the atmosphere reminds me of when I use to go to Tijuana Mexico living in SD. I love me some Carne Asada' but not from Tijuana Flats. I guess if you want good Mexican food you have to go to SD. Florida's attempt to Mexican food is pathetic....also the cheese they use seem low grade and the meat tasted very low grade overall it was one slight step above Taco Bell. I wouldn't be surprised if Taco Bell owned Tijuana Flats. I have low standards but Tijuana Flats fails to deliver. Sorry! I challenge the owner to compare there food to Rubio's then they will know what I am talking about. Sorry I will not be back.

Food 4 stars, service 5 stars. I visit this place at least 3 times in a month. The customer service is always great. They know how to make you feel comfortable and welcomed..I went on a Sunday night around 8:35pm. They close at 9. They greet us with the same energy and happiness like always.. Didn't make us feel unwanted or un welcomed because of the time. None of them! They keep checking on us and asking is we wanted a refill etc. The food, I Agree, it could be better tasting, more Mexican flavor. I guess because this is a Tex-Mex style. The portions are good and the prices reasonable. Tuesdays tacos is a pretty good deal.

Great service and hot sauce selection. It is good for fast casual but not spectacular. I would like better salsa selection..

We go to this location a lot. The food is good. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. We often go to sit outside and watch a game on the television and listen to some great tunes while we do it. They don't mind a bit if we sit there for a couple of hours. We've done that with a group of friends on more than one occasion. The prices are reasonable and the hot sauce selection is great. Lots of fun to see who can handle the heat. We really like their burritos and their nachos!

I'm turned off by Tijuana Flats now. Just not that much flavor. I would either get the shredded pork tacos are the fish tacos, but the lack of flavor and other places now make me not love them too very much. The price I just don't feel is great for the value. Sad, bc for a while this was my go to place. If you like tacos, burritos, quesadillas and a bar of hot sauce, this may be a place for you to try. Check it out if you would like.

On a normal day, the always awesome Tijuana Flats teeters back and forth on either side of 4.5 stars for me because they're delicious Mexican food is really good, and the service is always excellent. But being here on their Grand Opening today, this instantly turned into a 5*+ experience not only because the service have been excellent (sometimes an issue for any new location), but also take a peek at just some of the songs I've heard while sitting here in my virtual office today: We Don't Need Another Hero: Tina Turner Livin' On A Prayer: Bon Jovi RICK ROLLED!! St. Elmo's Fire: John Parr Things Can Only Get Better: Howard Jones (yeah, that one I had to look up the artist, no lies) If you're going to play that awesome music, and continue to serve the awesome steak burritos and great queso as your other locations... welcome to New Tampa Tijuana Flats!!

One word: disgusting! Tried Tijuana Flats on 3 different occasions and tried 3 different dishes and I must say I wouldn't feed this food to my dog. Thick cabbage cuts, awkward sauce combinations, and stale tasting tortillas. Would I recommend this place---hell no! I would rather pick Taco Bell 10 out of 10 times. How is this place successful, who the hell knows? My rating 0/10 on a good day. If it were up to me I would abolish this place off the map never to exist again. They just plain suck and their food is not appealing at all. Sorry, better luck next time.

Not bad but I wish they had more options for toppings/fillings. Tried a burrito and fish tacos but wasn't wowed by either.

I would not recommend TF.There is way to much tortilla and not enough filling. It is not horrible but there are so many other choices. Chipolte is MUCH better if you want a chain type restaurant. Or if you want to try something really good try California Tacos to go. I would rather skip Mexican if I have to go to TF.

I give it a solid four stars. The food is great as far as American Mexican goes. The prices are a little high, but fair. They do well with most food allergies, and when they do screw up (hey, it happens) they are always accommodating. This happens to be one of the places I attend regularly.

I had the fish tacos and they were ok. I made it a "meal" which included Beans and Rice. The beans and rice came in the smallest to go containers they could possibly come in - about two bites of each. C'mon, are they really that expensive that you have to skimp?

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
