"Old South" ambiance and comfort food that everyone enjoys. The waitstaff is friendly and jovial. The portions are big enough that you do not leave hungry.

The Ranch House Grill is ALWAYS busy. It's run by an awesome GREEK family and they give you a lot of food for your $$$. I always get the 2 Chicken Breasts and Potato. The Grouper sandwich is always awesome too. They offer you pumpernickel bread or sourdough while you wait for your food. GET THE PUMPERNICKEL! If you're looking for a solid, consistent, and affordable meal - come here!

We live right off of gandy and set out to go somewhere for dinner and decided to stop here. First off, the service was FANTASTIC. We had this super friendly lady named Tammy who was more than happy to answer our questions and give us suggestions! She made our whole experience top-notch. We got a pitcher of beer and she continued to fill our mugs as we drank. The food was good and home-made tasting. My boyfriend got a stuffed pepper with mashed potatoes and a salad and liked it, our friend got a filet with delicious sautéed mushrooms on it and he loved it, I got battered fish, which was good, but i was kind of jealous of how delicious the guys' food looked. We will definitely be back to try some more homemade-tasting food.

Loved everything but the main dish. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant seemed to have many locals and the atmosphere was comfortable and you feel like you stepped into a hunting lodge. The prices seemed high but we are new to the area so this may be standard. I had the stuffed flounder that was supposed to have crab and shrimp. Well it technically did. They were salad shrimp about the size of a pinky nail and there were only a couple. The 'crab' was imitation crab! Very bad form for a costal town. The appetizer and salad were good though. I will not be a repeat customer.

This is the most random place to fall in love with. Country theme= check! Great food and prices = check! Very nice people = check! You will love the house garlic butter they serve with their bread. The best thing you can do is order the early bird special because you get so much food, great side dishes, amazing service, and quick too! I have had dinner there many many times and I would recommend this place! My favorite is the steak!

The grouper was awful. Fishy and not fresh. Weird menu. The Juke Box took my dollar and didn't play. No good beers on tap. Veggies were limp. The staff was friendly!

I drive past this place every day and it's almost always busy so I finally gave it a try and WOW were we impressed! Very cute and cozy rustic atmosphere and our server was very sweet. And the food was amazing, I had the country fried streak with garlic mashed potatoes and black eyed peas and all were excellent. Prices are very reasonable too. Save yourself a trip to Sonny's or some other chain restaurant and enjoy a great meal at the Ranch House instead!

The meal began with a basket of fresh rolls and each meal portion is huge so plan accordingly. We shared the French Dip sandwich and each of us had a bowl of soup. Plenty of food. The kids shared the tenders meal, again plenty for the two boys- ages 7 & 9. Spanakopita and lobster bisque was also on special so that was also a choice for one of our party. Thoroughly enjoyed everything. Only bad part is we don't live near here so we will have to visit again when we are in Tampa. The person having the Lobster Bisque says it is the best she has ever had. I have to agree that my Tomato Basil soup was was creamy and not acidic at all. Loved every bit of it.

I'm new to the area and was in the mood for seafood. I checked out a couple of different places nearby but this place had some really good reviews. The ambiance was kind of cool. Kind of reminded me of where I grew up in Georgia. The kids loved the deer antlers on the walls and all of the different cowboy guns. The place was kind of dead, not much going on. Our waitress Riley was very nice and checked on us often. We started with cheese sticks and the stuffed portabella... The boys loved the cheese sticks but I really didn't care for the portabella. Too creamy for me. I ordered the three little ones kids meals and they were very large portions. They could barely eat all of it, but probably bc they loved the bread and ate so much before their plates came out... My oldest son and I ordered the captain broil. It was very good and seasoned well. This will Definitely be a place that I will come back to with the boys. I did read Mondays and Tuesdays that kids eat free...

This is an old favorite of mine. I've never had a bad meal or bad service here. What else is there to say? The food is great, the service is great, go and enjoy yourself!

Unsuspectingly amazing. Waitstaff is happy (good sign). Was immediately told the owners are Greek and that there's many Greek specials, but I went with a burger when I heard they grind their own beef. My burger was so good and fresh. My friends had a catfish dinner, and potato cheese soup, both loved theirs. I will definitely go back.

This place was quite tasty! Very casual spot with a pretty good selection on their menu that's good for the whole family. Cowboy like décor on the inside and no white tablecloths or suits. The dinner started with good, warm, soft bread that came with a garlic butter and a cinnamon butter. The wife and I ordered prime rib, and it was good! I ordered the bigger cut, and her the smaller. They gave her the bigger cut for the same price, since they brought her an end piece that had more meat on it or something they told us. It was sitting on a plate all alone in its own juices and seasoned quite well. I was pleased with the small amount of fat on mine. She was also very happy with hers. We both had the garlic smashed potatoes which were also good, and I had a salad and she the zucchini. While the salad was nothing special(it didn't suck, it was just a salad), she was raving about her zucchini. My oldest had spaghetti which she liked, though there were several better selections from the kids menu in my opinion. Her meal was free, as kids eat free Tues & Mon I believe, so our bill came to around $50 total to include the tip. The menu also had various steaks, chicken, sandwiches/burgers, and seafood. Some of the seafood entrees going to other tables actually looked really good. Our server was very good and on top of everything, and the place was clean and in order. I recommend this place for everyone, but especially families with small kids who aren't getting dressed up for a fine dining experience that still want steak and other such "fine" foods.

Just had a great dinner with the family. Stuffed flounder was delicious. Husband had country fried steak, he also loved it! Can't say anything bad. Service was fast and friendly, Debbie was great!

Service is prompt, courteous, friendly and fast. I love pretty much everything on the menu. The Greek dishes are very good (considering its a Ranch House!) so perhaps one of the owners or chefs is from the Mediterranean or is simply its cuisine enthusiast. The half chicken is a homestyle recipe thats very tasty. The pasta dishes are rich in flavor and the portions are HUGE. Salads are fresh and crisp. Bathrooms are clean. Decor is dated but somehow that works for the place. Some of the booths, tables and chairs could use a little refreshing but thats nitpicking. We live down the road so when the mood strikes its a go to place. Good food, good prices. Dont need much more than that! :)

Good food. Good prices. We go every Friday night. Highly recommend. Just like home cooking. The eggplant parmigian is one of our favorites. Give it a try you will definitely come back.

Pretty good food - exactly what you'd expect from a mid-range steak place. The bread was fantastic - BUT, note to owner: your little butter packets are so frozen hard that they're useless, and can't be spread onto the bread. Have you ever tried it? I think there's no reason that sealed butter can't be kept at room temperature. And not GARLIC butter, just regular butter!!!

Best steak and salad combo ever! This place beats Outback, Texas Roadhouse and Longhorns by far. The steak was cooked to perfection, most steak house cook to your request but they understand that a steak continues to cook after it comes off the grill. I ordered rare and I got rare. The salad wasn't just some lettuce in a bowl, it came with a finely chopped olives with fresh tomatoes, bell pepper and cucumbers. If your ever in Tampa and just tired of having seafood and hotwings, the Ranch House Grill is the place to go.

I like this place! It's a simple place nothing fancy but good. They have quite a variety on the menu and daily specials as well as a good happy hour. I really enjoy the Greek chicken kabobs. The staff is very friendly. I ordered a take out dinner and the person on the phone was friendly. When I came in to pick it up I got good service and when the hostess went to the kitchen to get it a manager came by and made sure I was being helped. Nice place.

Most random menu, but quite yummy!! The décor is amazing with deer heads and horseshoes mounted on the walls. I had a cheeseburger with fries... the appetizer bread and butter was awesome. I'm sure its a super simple seasoning in the butter but it was really good. So good that I spread it on my hamburger bun and ate my burger that way. lol added flavor! mm m pretty cheap and apparently has early bird specials too! right off Gandy so great location as well.

The wings are some of the best in S Tampa. The menu is diverse enough for all types of tastes. The owner and staff treat you like family.

I have only been for lunch, but the food is alright and the service wasn't half bad either. I will say the value for your dollar is definitely there. The food is mostly food service products with some fresh flair nothing terribly fancy or unique. Lunch is typically served fast. I'd go back for sure.

I just wanted a hamburger and something more than the fast food places near by. I hate to say it but I would have been just as satisfied with a drive thru burger. Not worth the time or money.

First time visit on Thursday, November 6th for dinner. The menu is quite large with wide variety to choose from. Everyone in your party should have no problem finding something to eat. Wait staff were prompt, courteous, and followed up. We had NY strip, turkey, and spaghetti. All were very good. Good baked potato and sweet potato. Good bread. All around this is a solid restaurant offering hearty food, with good service, and fair prices. We will be back.

Surprisingly, I'm a fan of this place. Nothing fancy about the food. Just simple but delicious. I always go for their blackened catfish with a side of rice pilaf and vegetables. I tried their side of zucchini today and again it was simple, but delicious and well seasoned.

This was our first time there for dinner. All aspects of it were very good. I had the stuffed flounder, and my wife the sirloin steak. The server Patti is a special person who demonstrates her professionalism. She was very good. She was able to take care of all our needs, and made suggestions on the menu and drinks selections. The restaurant is much larger inside then one would think, and was able to accommodate the large Friday night crowd. We will be back and enjoy our next experience. Mike Kerwin

Ugh, if I wasn't in the midst of hypoglycemic issues, I would have taken heed to the poor reviews. The atmosphere is nice, the staff is lovely but not very skilled, the salad was made of old browning lettuce and the tomato on it was also very aged. The fish was so-so, overall not at all impressed.

Very good ribs and roast chicken. Also came with delicious side dishes. Patti was a wonderful server. Good deal for the price too.

The food is good nothing to be excited about well thats if your me but your not, let's just say it's okay for a quick, cheap eat can we say that okay i'm the one saying that. If you don't have high expectations of your dining experience, you'll probably be okay here like myself. honestly i found the food to be greasy and not very well prepared again maybe thats just me. The best hot wing place in South Tampa maybe the chicken tenders are extra crunchy & well seasoned again maybe thats just me. Good food and great service again maybe thats just me, portions are not too big but you get a lot of food for the cost. Good specials and atmosphere is friendly again maybe thats just me.What i recommend try everything on the menu if possible, And Sangria wasn't bad either again maybe thats just me or is it ENJOY.

Wow--- I really wanted to like this place. Service was oaky, but everything plummeted after the drinks arrived (15 minutes after we sat down-- glad we weren't in a hurry). The food was bad. All of it. Just bad. I dislike being so negative, but save yourself -- don't eat here.

We stumbled on this place when we were out exploring. What a find!! Old school little place that serves simple food at good prices with a great waitstaff. My daughter sister and friend had the sirloin with smashed potatoes, was delicious (especially for the money) I had stuffed flounder which was probably not homemade but still delicious and on the early bird menu. The ranch dressing is homemade and ranked in the top 2 of my all time favorites. We will be back.

Horrible! Got really bad food poisoning and actually ended up seeking medical attention because it lasted 4 days. Salisbury steak- will never ever return. Top it all off I heard them talking bad about the nearby Air Force base.

I'd forgotten about this place, went there several times years ago but living in Brandon, seldom eat out on that side of town. The place is unique. Service was good and friendly. Food was above average and reasonable. In an area populated by fast food or international cuisine, if you are looking for stick to your ribs fare and a place to sit down, try The Ranch House out.

Plain and simple. Great Lunch, good prices, friendly service. Groups to about 10 work well. Daily specials. Too bad! they took Greek Potatoes of the list with thier 1/2 baked Greek Chicken. Best on the menu.

Great Lunch and Dinner spot. Had the special at lunch, the Roasted Bell Pepper with a side of garlic smashed potatoes. Fresh homemade rolls are also specially good baked fresh.

Pros: 1. The waitress was very friendly, we were seated quickly and our drinks were never empty. 2. The menu and the specials were extensive, I believe there is something for everyone to be found here (unless you are vegetarian of course!) 3. Their white bread given as an appetizer was very good, it was served hot with a garlic/ Italian butter which was delicious. Cons: 1. The restaurant looks nice from the outside and the decor is clean, however my silverware was incredibly dirty with old food stuck to one of the forks. The bathroom was also very dirty, both toilets were covered in old used paper. 2. My house salad looked at least two days old. Most of the ice burg lettuce had turned brown and was inedible, I am not sure why they would have even served it to a customer. Lettuce is one of the cheapest produces available, so this was not a good start to my meal. 3. I ordered their special 9 oz sirloin steak, and when it came out I swear there couldn't have been more than 4 oz of steak on my plate. Two days prior I had a 6 oz steak at Outback that looked twice as big as the one presented to me. They did however manage to cook it to a nice medium, which was okay for me even though I had asked for medium rare. I think it was the size of the steak that made impossible to get a nice evenness throughout. A large part of my extremely small steak was also comprised of gristle and fat, so in the end I didn't manage to eat much of it. Overall I was not impressed with my experience here, for the price I paid I will throw in a few more bucks and go to a different steakhouse.

Good service, sweet tea was good, baked potato was ok - everything else was horrible. I think the steak was old and microwaved, no flavor, tough. Reminded us of Ramsey's kitchen nightmares.

  • Steve S.

Absolutely the worse seafood ever. VAPORIZED would be the best way of putting it. First dish I sent back. Spanakopita was definetly microwaved and not homemade. bartender suggested something else and it was at least better. Save your money.

Absolutely disgusting. You couldn't pay me enough to eat here again. My wife and I went at about 5:00 pm on a Saturday - excited to eat at a steakhouse that wasn't a "Big Chain" on our honeymoon. I ordered a porterhouse and my wife got the chopped sirloin. When our food *finally* came out (the place was not crowded in the least) is the meat was bland, grey, over cooked, tough and lifeless. *NOT* medium rare by any stretch of the imagination. I told our horrible server, foul mood Valerie, about the poor impression that the food left and she never once offered to correct it. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE END OF DAYS if you have tastebuds! Do yourself a favor and eat shoe leather instead.
