So pleasantly surprised by the Outpost! We went here for part of Creative Loafing's restaurant week. It doesn't look like much from the outside but it was really nice inside. There are tons of TVs and lots of beer choices. The food was really good, especially the buffalo chicken French fries. They were a whole meal on their own. The service was very friendly and quick and the place was nice and clean. No complaints at all and we'll definitely go back.

Top notch service, great beer list for a divey bar. Very cozy, the manager Tony is probably one of the most personable individuals I have ever met. Great wings highly recommend.

After distribution of worthy credentials to slave trades, tampa's asphalt led me to the revived outpost. I remember when this spot boasted many ostentatious nights near channelside where they were initially established. Granted that my recent visit was during the day time, the all female front staff seemed delightful at first. I was greeted implicitly by a blue eyed Eastern European with a blond mane. Then I was mesmerized by an Amazonian. mountain gene possessing, brunette. Her demeanor was as dry as the many deprived females that loiter the south Howard grazing fields. Nevertheless the skinny soft spoken bartender presented my stout and fries while hounding for stripper Dollars and had the audacity of assuming the change was all hers when I was planning to allocate $1 for her labor intensive beer bottle opening. In any case my focus remained on the Amazonian which sent pints of hemoglobin.. SAdly her presentation and presence were as superficially as aluminum rust. This place should have remained as Mr Ts pizza with a good facelift decor.

DO NOT GO ON TRIVIA NIGHT (tuesday) if you just want food and a drink. It's loud, crowded, and filled with drunk kids. They always have great deals and happy hours, so be nice to the waitresses! I feel that they don't try because tips suck. The service is pretty slow for such a small space, but there's no way I would bust my ass if kids were leaving me 50 cent tips. Food is okay, the buffalo chicken fries are bomb. Overall average!

I actually like this place for day drinking, but today is the second time I have ordered food from here and feel like I have seriously eaten a bag of salt. Today I ordered the taco fries and I felt like I should have asked for some extra fries to go with my salt. So, drinks....yes. Food.....no!!!

Doesn't look like much from the outside but it's more upscale that you'd expect inside. It's a nice low key bar if you don't want to deal with Soho. They have a good beer selection. I went here for trivia so can't speak of the food. The atmosphere was great -- lots of friendly staff and patrons. I'll be back and next time plan on trying some grub. The only con I can think of is the one-stall bathrooms are unisex, so expect to have to put down the toilet seat, ladies.

Heart food, but poor service. Try not to go in the afternoon during shift change. One server, one bartender, and night bartender and Barback leaned against the counter and talked instead of helping the slammed am staff. You would think they would help to push the process of clearing out so that they can make money... :/

They should re-name this place The Kindergarten, since everyone who works here looks to be about that age. Okay, they did have a decent rail of craft beer, even though the Cigar City Jai Alai that I ordered blew the keg mid-pour, and the excruciatingly young female bartender had absolutely no idea what to do with all the suds that kept foaming onto my glass. I almost gave up and ordered something else, but after she dumped at least 7-8 pints of the $6 brew, she finally managed to bring me a glass that was only 25% head. To be fair, the food looked tasty, although fried to a fare-thee-well and greasy. Like I said, tasty. The only reason I ventured here was because their phone app said Tuesdays were $1 beers and karaoke. But upon arrival, we learned it was now a DJ night. So, $1 beer turned into $20 beer after 3 pints. Memo to management. Update your page. Apparently, the DJ started at 10pm, but it was only 9. We did observe a crew of scary-looking dudes arrive wearing "Security" T-shirts, which made me wonder exactly what happens here as the night goes on. Our young girl bartender informed us that it became a "college kid crowd" after awhile. But don't you have to be 21 to drink alcohol? And don't you usually graduate from college on or before your 21st birthday? I was a bit confused. I might return to eat some grub here one day, but not any time soon.

Pretty good, put much room for improvement. The beer: They offer some craft beers (do not expect a WOB or Brass Tap). They seem that they have a standard set of beers then also rotate maybe 5 taps of different or seasonal beers. Price of beers is about typical like other beer bars. Definitely better selection of beer, especially when compared to Chilis or Applebees but nothing to write home about. I ordered a christmas inspired beer (can not remember name) which was good, the problem is when I ordered the beer I asked the server if the beer was pint or chalice. I was told it was a pint, but when it showed up it was a chalice. Definitely different amount of ounces. The sever explained that she was sorry and if i ordered another, she would have it filled in a pint. Sadly I was only having one beer and food then leaving. Food: We ordered the beer pretzels, chicken wings (ridiculously hot) and boneless chicken wings (with sweet heat rub). All of which was unimpressive and borderline standard bar food. The pretzels did not taste good at all. They did not taste like pretzels, they had a funny taste like they were burnt, even though they were not. The sauces that come with them were explained to us like they were custom made, special for that bar, They definitely were not, the honey mustard was Kens honey mustard. The garlic ranch did not taste garlic and was plain ranch dressing that you can by as a restaurant in the gallon containers. My wings which were the bone in wings with ridiculously hot sauce were good, but I also got them during happy hour ($0.50 cent wings). The sauce was definitely not ridiculously hot ( I would compare them to maybe hot wings at hooters/winghouse/beefobradys). My fiancé had the sweet heat, which I tried, and it was like eating salty rub on top of wings. Definitely not pleasing. We have had sweet heat chicken at Lee Roy Selmons, which is very delicious, but this is nothing like it. The rub ruined it, maybe if the seasoning was in the batter this could have improved it or if the rub was finely ground then sprinkled on it. The service was not bad, it was alright. Nothing to write home about. She did mess up on the beer order and then my chicken wings were delayed. It was explained to me that she put the boneless wings (which were not happy hour special) instead of bone in wings (which were happy hour). So instead of giving me boneless (which I could care less about) they let me wait another 5 mins and I assume they threw away the food or ate it for themselves. Sadly when the food arrived I was already full from the beer and mediocre pretzel bites so I only ate 3. Luckily we used a Livingsocail deal to eat here. It made the experience a little better. The food wasn't bad but it is definitely nothing special. The only thing this place has going for it is that its walking distance from UT.

Had my first trip to the Outpost for Wednesday night Trivia last night and I'm a fan! I'll admit when I pulled into the lost I immediately sent a text to a few friends and said 'anyone here early?!' because it looked a bit sketchy... someone's dog was laying under a car?! But I sucked it up and went in and was pleasantly surprised! Lots of high tables and a nice sports bar atmosphere. I arrived by about 7:05 for 8pm trivia and kind of had my choice of tables because I was so early... good planning on my part. I was immediately greeted by a waitress and told her we were expecting 15 to join us so she stuck a reserved sign on a long 8-seater table and then we pushed two 4-tops together to make another and she put another sign there. We chatted about college and how trivia works - I wish I remembered her name because she was great! I asked about specials [always on beer... sigh.] and told her I wasn't a big beer drinker so she recommended a few and brought me 3 samples in tiny little mini beer steins - seriously they were cute and I kind of wanted to take one. I tried the Woodchuck Apple (I think? It was alright), Johnny Appleseed (winner!), and Magic Hat #9 (tasted like beer... ew). Had my drink momentarily and then took a gander at the menu. What a selection! I was soo tempted by all the unhealthy appetizers and yummy sandwiches but went with a boring chef salad wrap. It was as good as a chef salad wrap could be but everyone around me had delicious things! I did wind up trying others' items and YUM - funnel fries were so good and light and didn't feel as bad as a real funnel cake, sweet potato fries were also delicious with a fun vanilla aioli dip. Taco fries sounded amazing and someone else got buffalo fries that were raved about.. apparently it's all about the fries! The trivia was great - we got 4th place! It was a bit of a struggle because some people were there just to dine and socialize and were very loud while the majority of the place was playing trivia. We were new but luckily one of our team members had done it before and was able to lead us. We were constantly checked on by our waitress who refilled our waters and was very attentive during our 2-3 hours there. Prices are good and food was filling. Looking forward to going back!

So we were at The Patio and ran into one of the owners and noticed he was wearing an Outpost shirt. We asked about it, and he said he had a stake The Outpost as well. Then, he whipped out his cell phone and showed us a live video stream of what was going on over there, so we decided to hit it up after leaving The Patio. We weren't really hungry, so we just ordered a Tampa Cheesesteak, which was just a cheesesteak, but served on Cuban bread. We had them quarter it for us so we could just sample it, and it was damn good. Why hasn't anyone thought of serving a cheesesteak on Cuban bread sooner? It came with a side of fries, which were probably some of the most crispy fries I've ever eaten. Delicious. We also got some Korean BBQ chicken wings. They were excellent in taste, but could have been a little crispier. Maybe coat them in whatever those fries were coated in. Only downer was that they didn't have a full liquor bar, beer and wine only. Will definitely go back though. I'm interested in the Cuban burger, which is basically a Cuban sammich with all the traditional fixins, plus a freaking burger patty. I gotta have it.

2 words - funnel fries! Odd that it was so dead for a Saturday night, but made the service really good. Had a few local beers on tap which was nice, but the funnel fries were the show stopper. A side note, we sat on the patio, which was lovely, except for the unexplained amount of homeless people milling about.

I know Outpost opened a while back but this was my first trip there. We went over on a lazy Sunday afternoon to watch the Lightning and March Madness games. It was fairly busy for the time of day. The atmosphere is pretty cool, and is much nicer inside than the dive looking exterior. Our server was very friendly and was quick to provide menus. There was a good selection of draft and canned beers. We didn't have anything to eat, but the menu was appropriately priced. Will have to stop back in for some grub next time!

VIBE: The former Frankie's was closed and transformed to a brew pub bar. Dark walls, floor and ceiling and long bar with TVs above and 40 beers on tap. Frankie's had a varied patron group including white and blue collar workers, families with children, UT students, etc and reasonable prices. ORDER THE: We had a burger, side salad and a steak sandwich. The burgers are priced from $10 to $12. The burger was good but I didn't see a $12 value in it. With one ice tea and tip, lunch was $30.00 - on the pricey side. Service was friendly but slow (from kitchen) and salad arrived at end of meal. Not sure what their business plan is as it is priced out of budget for most people at lunch. Craft beers are in the $5 - $6 range. Seems too pricey for UT students, however they can walk from dorm to here rather than go to Howard Ave. It has nice finishes and furnishings but not a draw to bring me back.

My fiancé and I went here in the afternoon and it was pretty slow. It was self seating and we sat at a booth against the windows. The atmosphere was pretty cool, very college appropriate considering its near the University of Tampa. Our server was nice and efficient but you could tell that she was newer and still learning the menu and beers herself. It also appeared that there were 2 bartenders on, a guy and a girl and they were switching off to eat at the far end of the bar and I get they (I used to work in the industry myself) but the girl had a wine glass she was drinking out off. The contents of it are beyond me but not very professional. The have a wide selection of craft beers which is very cool and have a variety of taps to choose from as well. My fiancé being a beer fanatic was pretty impressed with the beer selection. They have craft drinks which all include Sake which I found interesting. I ordered the Gimlet which was supposed to have muddled strawberries but to be honest I saw nor tasted any strawberries and my drink tasted like straight sweet and sour mix. I was not impressed at all. For appetizers we ordered the Pretzel bites. They were ok. They came out what appeared to be over done and were a fade crunchy. They came with a honey mustard and garlic ranch which were ok. My fiancé asked if there were any other sauces that he could try instead of them and our server was hesitant to let him try any which was a bummer but they were ok. For my main course I got 6 breaded boneless wings in the sweet heat rub. We also ordered a side of fries. The fries were really good. A little too much seasoning on them but overall were pretty tasty. My wings tasted as if I was eating the dry rub itself. It was coated with the sweet heat rub. Now when I got home and reheated them later they tasted better but were pretty hard to eat when I was there. Overall it was ok. Not the best I've had.

We ordered the Cuban with fries and a chef salad without onions. The Cuban was very tasty, a solid-made sandwich that will get ordered again. However, the salad did contain some onions, so I spent quite a bit of time going through the entire salad to ensure none were consumed. The fries were well seasoned and exceptionally crisp. Each time we've been here, the food has been better than average bar food. We'll definitely be back.

I went to The Outpost with colleagues on a business trip. This place had by far one of the best bar trivia nights! We all had a great time. We stuck mostly to beer so I can't review the cocktails. The appetizers were better than you'd expect from a bar, but the fries were perfect. The service was slow, but the server was pleasant. My water wasn't refilled the entire time I was there and my colleague had to fetch her twice to get another beer. That may simply have been because it was an event night and the bar was pretty busy. I'm told that's not typical. If you're in the area, and looking for a casual bar with decent food and great trivia nights, this is the place to go.

This is an okay place to come for a drink or basic bar food. Do not expect great food. They have a very decent list of beers on tap, and they have even more available by the can. They also have a full bar, although I don't necessarily recommend their cocktail offerings. Food is fine, but not great. The burgers are okay, most of the sandwiches are okay, although they can be overwhelmingly salty. Last night, I had the Chicken Parm, and it was served on stale Cuban bread (untoasted). Ugh. The fries are good. So is the guacamole.

Thanks to a killer deal from Creative Loafing ($5 for $20 worth of food, yes!) I finally was able to check off the Outpost on my list of places to try in Tampa Bay. The Outpost is a sports bar so expect a lot of TVs, beer and sports bar food. AKA don't expect five-star dining here, because it's not what you're going to get. I had my dog with me so I sat outside on the patio. The patio has a decent amount of chairs but I felt like the service was not great out here since my drink was empty for most of the meal and my server only came to see me to get my order and bring me my food. Oh, she also came to see my dog but my drink was still empty after she did that. I ordered the Barn House burger, which is a burger with cheddar cheese, bacon and BBQ sauce. The burger itself was rather unremarkable, though the cheese was melted perfectly on the patty. But the burger was just okay. I ordered cauliflower mash (a $2 upcharge) and was very pleased with this as my side selection. You can also choose to get the cauliflower mash "fully loaded" with cheese and bacon, but I just got the regular kind since I wasn't sure I wanted to be too overwhelmed by it. The mash was great -- definitely a unique side option which isn't offered at many restaurants, so I liked this aspect. I paid with my CL deal and since I had extra money left over, I ordered the funnel fries. This is part of why I'm giving the place 4 stars instead of 3, because those funnel fries were really good. Think funnel cake with caramel drizzled on top and you've got yourself a recipe for awesomeness. Service was okay but I felt I was there for way too long. I had to ask for a bowl of water for my dog since he was hot, and it was nice that I got a bowl of water, but I did have to ask the manager since my server was kind of nowhere to be found. I would come back for some trivia or alone so I could sit inside and experience the place for its interior service.

Wings are good. Solid. Used to have those UT kids there every Tuesday night but no more. Beer selection plenty but don't have enough bottles and cans in my opinion. Too many draft options may be a $$ loser but who knows. TV angles bizarre. My buddy couldn't properly watch his game 7 right but I love the wings so if you want that and a nice beer this is the place

So, the more I actually sat inside this place, the more I decided it wasn't the absolute worst place to have a drink in Hillsborough County. That said, there were three very legitimate reasons: 1. We stopped in for two rounds of drinks, therefore we clearly had an exit strategy from the beginning 2. Our server named Chelsea was really cool and deserves a much better fate than working here during her college days 3. The DJ and AYCD began at 10pm and we knew we'd be out of there at least 20 minutes before that fiasco commenced and all hell broke loose This was definitely a calculated trip and I'm not sure there will be another one. I'm significantly beyond the age of the UT crowd, so the advertised All You Can Drink for $10 option for two hours on a Friday night screamed train wreck. When we arrived shortly after 8pm, there were actually a number of random guys showing way too much enthusiasm for a tape-delayed rugby match. Sorry, but that's almost as bad as the STD's (South Tampa Douchebags) who live for those meaningless UFC telecasts where the main event participants have already tested positive for cocaine, steroids, etc. Chelsea convinced us that we had the right idea by leaving before 10pm (also because we could afford to spend more than $10 on alcohol on a Friday night), but went out of her way to claim the kitchen actually made decent food even if we didn't order it. No offense, but I doubt I will ever test her theory, simply because there are 100 other places within 5-10 miles where I would rather dine. Oh, and a visit to one of the non gender-specific bathrooms proved more interesting than usual as the sink featured a small video screen constantly advertising specials and other national brand marketing whether you wanted to see it or not. The Outpost is a less than charming dive and unless you're a UT student, don't possess more than $10 for alcohol on a Friday night or think this season's rugby final carries more audience than a rerun of Family Feud, this really isn't your spot.

Great place to watch sports. Full bar, great service, lots of great bar food to choose from. We had the mini corn dis and chase quesadillas. Both were delish. His bloody Mary was awesome and my Moscow Mule was string and tasty. Will def be back.

The old Frankie's Hot Dogs is now The Outpost Tap House + Tavern. Same owners aiming for a different crowd. The change was a good move and a step in the right direction. The new bar looks fantastic! Really nice woods, some sharp televisions already tuned to the relevant sporting events, and plenty of tap handles to be pulled. The draft list felt very reminiscent of The James Joyce in Ybor. A few deeper picks, but nothing a moderate beer geek hasn't seen before and a relatively "safe" selection. Of course, all pours are served in a 16 ounce pint glass. It makes for a great value, even though some purists will cringe at the glassware for their Tripel. There is also a moderate selection of cans to choose from. We opted for some food and browsed the selection of spruced-up comfort food. The BBQ Pork Sandwich was exactly as advertised: pork, sauce, bun. The taste was fine but the consistency reminded me of dog food. Again, it tasted good, but add some fresh pickles or cole slaw and snazz it up a bit, folks! Crunch is important! The fries on the side were excellent. The Beer-Battered Cajun Shrimp Po'Boy sounded great but really missed the mark. The shrimp didn't even seem battered but just sprinkled with Cajun salt. There were six of them meticulously placed on the sandwich which just kinda rubbed me the wrong way. It felt cheap. The Cuban bread they used was obviously a few days old and the sauce was barely noticeable. It was a far cry from a real New Orleans Po'Boy, even with the liberties taken to make it fancy. Side salad was simply romaine with diced tomatoes, cucumbers and onions. Perfectly edible but a bit bland. We visited on a weekend afternoon and it seemed that nearly all male patrons greeted each other with "bro" or "dude", but I guess that's to be expected for the location. It wouldn't surprise me if it became a full-on frat party after hours. All in all, I can see promise. They've only been open for about a week or so and show some potential. I know those menus cost a lot of money to make but please consider making some changes. If they can shift it into high gear, this could become more than just a UT staple. Frat boys can keep you in business for a while but they'll end up chasing every other crowd out of there. Delicious food and great drinks will keep everyone around!

From the moment we walken in I was conflicted. On one hand the staff was attractive and the Tv's were nice but the smell was like an aquarium. Maybe it's just the new bar smell. Our Bartender was friendly though she was brushing her hair with her hand while talking to us(weird). Then it gets worse. She lets us sample a local craft beer but she sips out of the cup first. After placing our order she wipes her nose with her hand while pouring the beer and the beer is not the one we ordered. Just a brush up on bar awareness and techniques and I'll come back. I'm gonna wait till they weed out the grossness. Nice Tv's

From the outside it looks a little dingy but on the inside it has such a warm relaxing atmosphere. There are plenty of beers on tap and they a great food selection. I went to the OUtpost specifically to drink. I order a beer on tap and one out of a can. Both had a strong selection ranging in flavor and style. We went on a sunday afternoon and it wasn't very busy, but there was a couple of families there, which surprised me a bit. The bartender was friendly and struck up a conversation about us, it was nice to get to know a little bit about the bar as well. Next time I come I will sample some of the amazing looking appetizers and burgers that are on their menu

This place is a solid 3.5 star sports bar. I rounded up because it's ano Ohio State bar in South Tampa (finally!) It was chilly inside, so make sure you bring a jacket or sweater for those that get cold easily. I myself do not and still found it to be a bit cold. They have a great beer list and have great happy hour/specials. They even came around with one of their beers on promotion for people to try. We ordered a cheeseburger with fries and also some wings. The wings were some of the biggest wings we have had. The Korean bbq and the spicy wings were awesome. They were running a promotion for 50 cent wings, which was a great deal. We caught the first half of the Ohio State game here and ordered 2 beers, a pop, bleu cheese burger, fries and 10 wings and it was a mere $28 before tip. Score! We will be back:)

Place was awesome the one time I sat at the bar. This time I sat at a table... And sat... And sat some more. (15 minutes total) The whole time I saw the bar tender saving a spot for his buddies who pulled up and got immediate service. Ended up walking out and re locating 5 minutes before the Lightning game started. If the bar is packed walk out!

This is a pretty cool sports bar. The only reasons I'm not going up to 4 stars is that (a) it was freezing every time someone opened the door and therefore, it was a bit uncomfortable, and (b) its not a full bar (beer and wine only). I'm not much of a beer drinker anymore (have to watch my girlish figure) and drinking wine while watching a FSU/Miami game feels like an insult to my FSU heritage. Then again, I had 2 ciders instead of beer, so I think I lose my FSU and my man cards all in one go for that one. Anyway, you may ask why I would come to a tap house that serves beer and wine only if I wanted a full bar? Good question. Answer is that my girlfriend has a groupon. So, what can you say about this place? Its a nice little sports bar - plenty of big screen TVs, a long bar with lots of seating and then a bunch of tables for groups, too. They have an internet juke box and the obligatory game of Golden Tee. So, it has everything a sports bar needs. I didn't see a pool table or darts, but I might have missed it and it really wouldn't have mattered for me. We split an order of their pretzel nuggets with honey mustard and garlic ranch. Seriously, fried pretzel nuggets are awesome. I got a pork and pork and pork sandwich (I forgot what it was called, but it was pork) with fries. I sandwich was good, especially after I added BBQ sauce, but the fries weren't great. I'm not a huge fan of battered fries, or whatever is done to make them kinda rough on the outside. They were okay, not great though. All in all, I was happy with the food. They have a huge selection of beer, including multiple seasonal beers and a bunch of ciders and non-traditional beers. So if you're a beer fan, you'll probably love this place. It was a good place to watch a game, with decent food. Outside of the 2 issues above, I enjoyed myself.

Great sport bar and happy hour location. I had a good time here and met some good people here. It was really nice of one of guys working there to warned the group I was with to move there cars from gas before they got towed. I love the bathroom advertising screen, that was a first for me. Very good deals on the happy hour specials.

Outpost is a great sports bar in Tampa that combines the rough wooden walls of an outpost lodge with and a sleek modern bar equipped with the now mandatory flat screen tvs in HD. It has many beer options rivaling world of beer. Even several 'chick' beers, haha - e.g. cider beers. It also features seasonal beers, which I love. I had a pumpkin beer and our waitress Hilary was awesome and brilliant enough to add A BROWN SUGAR RIM! It's only beer and a few wines; no full liquor bar but that's fine with me since I feel like it's good form to drink beer while watching sports. Casual place. Great for groups or just a couple who, like me and my date, just want a little atmosphere to watch a game. They have a lot of space inside - a long bar with at least a dozen stools, several booths and multiple tables and even a small outdoor patio in front facing the street. We went on a Saturday night to watch a college football game and our server Hilary was super friendly and wonderful. I haven't had good bar service like that in a long while. The reason I can't give it 5 stars is because the menu is limited and the food was good quality but nothing to rave about. Food was more 3.5 than a solid 4. I ordered the shrimp po boy and it was good quality large shrimp too. The bread was also pretty fresh, but certainly not the best I've had.

Place is stupid as shit. Supposed to be a buckeye bar and only had the game on one TV. Staff couldn't figure out how to change the channels. Food is over priced. Won't be coming back.

The Outpost which recently opened brings an exciting option to the incoming UT class. As bars, taphouses, tavern, pubs, gastropubs etc... seem pop up and close in a market where they seem to come around a dime a dozen, one cant help but to note what might set this establishment apart from the rest. I do like the comfort feel of the wooden décor interior yet the modern flare of numerous flat screen TVs that yells sports bar. They do have a very large outdoor covered patio area. This also plays great in their favor come gameday for those who are looking for a place to hang that's not so SoHo or not quite downtown. The menu ranges classic bar food items like of wings, burgers, and fries, but also caters healthier options of numerous wraps and salads. I did like the uniqueness of their menu from the inspired sauces for wings or have them dry rubbed with numerous seasoning blend options to their creation of craft burgers.... Ok, if I see a unique burger build their is a good chance I'm coming to your establishment. Needless to say, I had a burger the "El Cubano" to be exact. Spanish style pulled pork on top of a seasoned beef blend of ground chuck and short rib, swiss cheese, mustard sauce, pickle chips on Ybor City Cuban bread. I did like the hype of the uniqueness, but unfortunately flavor build was the middle of the road for me. Other mentionable were the crispy seasoned onion rings which are paired with some unique condiments of roasted garlic ranch and chipotle ketchup. I also tried the sesame slaw as a side, however there was nothing presented in that slaw that yelled Asian elements other than the dressing. Even though some of the menu item I tried seemed to be "standard bar food" I do keep in mind the establishment if focused more on the craft brewing experience of which I did get the opportunity to try four unique craft beers of my choice on their flight option. Now only 36 more drafts to try. My server was helpful and pleasant and food was brought out in a timely fashion. Establishment hours of operation is currently uncertain but I was told that they open at lunch at 11a and can potentially close late night around 3a depending on the nature of busyness. I do foresee as the fall semester begins, there will be many promotional offers to draw in the college crowd and on gameday the comradery of bonding for victory or defeat for numerous sporting events. The Outpost will be many peoples destination for food, fun, and brews.

No accessible seats. It's a fairly new place. Nice decor. Waitress tried to steer us to the most expensive beer and then when we chose one that wasn't expensive she said it was their worst beer. When I told her I've been to that brewery is WI when I visited my sister her attitude changed. Ordered the corn puppies and they tasted like normal bar food. I would have given this place a 3 star if it had not been for the lack of wheelchair accessible seating and walkway. Even if you are overweight, good luck getting to the seats...it's a tight squeeze.

I love the chill vibe at this bar! The sweet potato waffle fries are to die for! The staff is friendly and the drinks are always on point. One of my favorite bars in Tampa.

We were at the Davis island dog park when the rain came in. We were starving and I found this place on yelp. I called because they had noted a dog friendly patio, which they did. We walk up and the pups were offered water and treats before us, super cool!!! They brought a bowl out and some milk bones for my friends and my dog. Great draft beer selection with good prices! Food was amazing, I had the BLT with a fried egg and it was mouth watering. Not only that it was quick, granite the place was slow but still. The lovely waitress kept checking on us to make sure were ok, we were there about 4 hours just kicking it on the patio. Hands down an awesome place for you and your pooch. This will be my go to place after we go to the dog park from now on.

Well, I miss Frankie's a bit... I wish they had kept the hot dogs! This place was nicely renovated and is pretty cool inside, although a little small. Menu has a lot of variety and great stuff for lunch. I had the Tampa Cheesesteak, which is basically a philly cheesesteak on Cuban bread with mustard. Pretty good. The french fries were generic seasoned fries... I'll try a different side next time--they had a wide variety. Service was good and the place was busy (on a Friday at noon), but not so much that you couldn't get a table. I will be back.

Visit here every once in a while for some amazing teriyaki wings! Fast service and cheap prices. You are more likely to run into a college crowd here or people watching sports games. Not the place for a quiet dinner, but definitely the place for some awesome wings! Will visit again

So....I've been here a few times for trivia, a beer etc. It's a fine atmosphere to go hang out and have a drink. My issue is with the food. So a few of my friends got back from a long day and we wanted to order food bc we were too tired to go out. We ordered via Door Step Delivery. We all went with some basics: boneless wings, loaded fries, burger and fries. Considering this is a bar, we figured they'd have a lock on pub food. We were wrong. The food was so awful. And can I just say that I rarely think food is too gross to finish....well I didn't want to finish. We all shared bites of each and we all agreed the food was gross. The fries had a weird, downright gross taste. The teriyaki wings were SO SALTY and looked unappetizing with this super gross looking breading. We ended up throwing all the food in the garbage. What a waste! I would considering coming back for a drink....I'll just make sure I've eaten first! Yuck!

Horrible service. Ordered a burger with a salad instead of fries. My server brings our food and noticed I never got the salad. Didn't see her again until another server asked us if we needed anything and we told him our check. Told our server I never did receive the salad when she brought us the check and she brings me a salad in a to-go box. No apologies, no substitutions. Really? I had a dry burger in a basket and a pickle spear... I didn't plan on bringing a side salad home to eat tmrw all wilted and soggy. The place was packed for MNF and trivia night so I'm sure she was working the big tables of college kids for the tips. Too bad she didn't realize our table are foodies that are loyal patrons who come often and tip big. Won't return... There's too many great places in South Tampa and Downtown to waste time giving this place a second chance.

Had such a great experience at the Outpost, I found this spot because of yelp! My friend had just moved up to tampa that day and we were looking for somewhere close as we had been moving all day. Our server was amazing, she told us about the menu and all the deals they had going on. The outside is a little dark but once you walk in its such a great place! They have a couple games and The menu has some fabulous food ideas (Taco fries, B-B-Q Fries, Beer-L-Ts) They also have a healthier side on the menu which is AWESOME! I can't say enough about this place, We will definitely be going back when I visit!

So here's my synopsis. Overall I would rate it a 4.5/5. I'll be honest my expectations weren't that high based on the outside, but you can never judge a book by it's cover. You get dinged .25 because you're an Ohio State bar and .25 because I thought it was a little crowded in between tables. Other than that you have plenty of tv's, we got very good service with great recommendations, and a good menu to select from. Your ranch is like crack. Seriously I could just drink that shit. I ended up on the waitresses recommendation getting wings with a mix of garlic butter and hot. Amazing. Cooked perfectly with just the right amount of meat. We will be back.

Service was passable, but barely. I opted for the Florida Caesar salad on a spinach herb wrap. Despite the tasty description, my wrap was not blessed with any "orange sections," the addition of which, I presume, would transform an otherwise standard Caesar salad into its Floridian counterpart. I also recollect asking that shrimp be added to my wrap, but my lunching companion says he didn't hear my request, so I'll call that issue a draw. But the wings - those should be foolproof. Sadly they weren't particularity tasty. The fries were quite yummy, and the ranch dressing was actually good enough to mention. Overall I might consider returning late at night for cheap drinks and fries, but I won't be eating a meal there again.

I don't recommend eating here. Drink all you want. The food was better when it was Frankies hot dogs & burgers. Now its bad, over cooked, old, even the waitress will be honest if u pick something bad off the menu.

I have been to The Outpost many times and have never been disappointed. I usually rely on the C4 burger, but I have never had anything less than great. The fries are well done, servers are friendly and fast, and it's a great place to watch sports. My latest trip in was during the World Cup game for the US and the place was packed. My group was able to get seated and the server was very attentive. The atmosphere for soccer was great and it was another fantastic time.

Great beer selection at a great price. Wish they could get some Blvd Beer from Kansas City. Great decor and staff.

I really enjoy this place, fifty percent off for all students every Monday, brings our bill down to a great price. In addition, this place serves really great food, would really recommend, just needs more seating!

We've eaten here twice so far and both times the food has been excellent. Sure it's a bar and it's loud (cause I'm old) but for some reason they just have really good food. The beer selection is also very good. There's a wide variety to choose from and did I mention the food was good? ;) The first time I went, I tried the hummus and guac plate. The server suggested I try it with the pita served cold and not fried. It was much healthier this way and super tasty. Plus, the guac was fresh and as they call it "smashed" to perfection. The second time I went, I tried the cobb salad. Also, really good. Lots of veggies, eggs, avocado, and the most imortant cobb salad ingredient, bacon. My boyfriend keeps ordering the jerk chicken sandwich and after sampling his it's going to be tough for me to stay on the healthy side when we go there - it's that good. It's a jerk seasoned chicken, with avocado, and provolone served on a Hawaiian roll. It's really hands down one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever tasted. My boyfriend got the fried oreo sundae a few weeks ago and said it was ok. I passed on it. I could not, however, pass on the cupcakes he ordered this week. A vanilla and chocolate cupcake served with a big strawberry and raspberry and chocolate glaze. It was devilishly delectable. My only reason for not giving this place 5 stars is because the service was a little slow and it's really loud.

Best freaking jerk chicken sandwich EVER. "The big jerk" has provolone, avocado, on a Hawaiian roll! Tons of beer on tap, great desserts.

Tried this place for the first time today. I liked the location and sports bar atmosphere. Food was great, and staff was very enthusiastic about specials and events. I plan to go back and would recommend it to others.

This is my new favorite bar/restaurant. Prices are extremely reasonable, has a great beer/hard cider selection, and the food is outstanding. The people working there are also really nice. I had the cheese trio as an appetizer and was simply heaven. Their sweet potato fries w their sweet sauce is also like something I've never had before- absolutely amazing. Great food, good prices, all around awesome!!!

The outpost is very good. I thought the wings were excellent and some of the best in tampa. Although they had good taste, they definitely were too mild. I also thought the seasoned fries were excellent. The outpost very well good be the best wing spot in tampa. It was also a bit too loud. I definitely enjoyed my experience there.

I just had lunch at the Outpost located at 909 W Kennedy Blvd in Tampa. It's a sports bar with 13 TV's. I had the Grilled Onion, mushroom and Swiss burger and The Big Jerk. Both sandwiches were very good. The service was also Very good. I was greeted by Jana who was my server. Jana did a fantastic job and I highly recommend her. In addition the food was brought to my table Tony who happens to be one of the managers. My hat goes off to Tony. My favorite server Jane was not here today. Jane always gives me excellent service. When visiting the Outpost ask for Jana and Jane they are the best.

This business just opened up and it is obvious that they spent a lot of money on it. The diamond place is nice and all the wood is gorgeous. It looks like something out of Bar Rescue. They have about 50 beers on tap and the bartenders are actually smart about beer and they let you sample anything. They do half off for hospitality on Sunday and they serve good food. Its just your standard bar food but it is done very well. Everything is clean and we organized but that is to be expected in a new business. The owner was there and seemed to know what he was doing. This place can do great if they promote the right way and get the word out about what they have. The prices are good for regular working guys but they are little high for the college students within walking distance. It all depends on what crowd the owner wants to target. Im sure he has got a plan

Came to the Outpost for a quick lunch between AAU basketball games. I got a shrimp Po-boy and loved it. The Cuban bread was soft and fresh. The shrimp were med size and plenty in the sandwich. I will be coming back again. Good selection of beers. Any place that serves PBR's is #1 in my book.
