The Bunker is a small cafe in Ybor City with an artsy feel to it. They have a short & sweet food menu that offers breakfast and lunch items, though I wish it was more extensive. I tried their Washington turkey sandwich and really liked it, especially the apples inside it. Also had my usual flat white coffee, which was bolder here than most places. They also offer a variety of teas if you aren't in the mood for coffee. There's had a good amount of tables, free Wifi, and some outlets available. Free parking is located in front of the building, as well as the back parking lot.

I visited the Bunker on Friday, August 28 while in the area because of the favorable reviews. I purchased a ice chai tea latte which was very good. However, The customer service was excellent! I met a local couple outside who did in mind chatting with me. After sitting for a while the local chickens came over for visit too. This is a great hang out - free wifi too!

I am reviewing from my phone, so I will keep it short. Solid coffee drinks. Great service, they even bring food to you outside. Dog accommodating Great sandwiches - my recommendation is any breakfast sandwich on a pressed croissant. Great atmosphere for getting work done with free wifi (Note: I find the practice of using a restaurant like it is your office distasteful, and if you don't buy anything, you are being a jerk)

The bunker is a super cute coffee shop. The one time I've visited I've gotten an iced coffee to go and then walked around the Saturday morning Farmer's Market. The iced coffee was delicious and I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend the morning than walking around the adjacent farmer's market picking out some fresh produce. Cool place with good coffee and wide selection. Neat stand alone coffee shop on the outskirts of Ybor City.

As a Ybor Heights residence and fellow local business owner I was to LOVE The Bunker. I want to pop in a few mornings each week and have a great quick coffee and breakfast, say hello to friends, and catch up with the neighborhood. Unfortunately, they continuously miss the mark. The coffee is excellent (but you can thank Buddy Brew for that) however the food is horrible. I have popped in several times to try different breakfast sandwhiches thinking I just had not ordered the right one just yet. Sad to report they were all bad. Microwaved powdered eggs and breakfast meats do not good-food make. With places like Buddy Brew up the street uping their food game I feel like The Bunker has to step up. It can't be that hard to cook a fresh egg. The interior could also use a facelift from 1996 hotel lobby. Looking for TB to get a fresh breath and move forward to be that coffee shop we're all sincerely wishing for!

The Bunker is a neat little coffee shop off the main drag in Ybor. Good selection of coffee and tea to choose from, and if you need more than caffiene beer and wine are also at your disposal. The service was OK, the young lady at the counter didn't seem thrilled to be there, and despite the lack of enthusiasm, the coffee's we ordered were good. It has coffee house ambiance, the decor is what one would expect from a hipster type coffee house, and the soft non abrasive (lillith fair is what came to mind when I was there) is also right on target for this type of place. If you are in the area this place is worth a try. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to stop in here though. I say this because of the apathetic service received and the large number of Ybor establishments that serve coffee with staff who will act and be happy that you are there.

The flat white is amazing. It's everything coffee was meant to be...great customer service.

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in the Tampa Bay area. There's parking near by, great drinks, decent food and hello open mic night! Whenever you get the chance to stop by make sure to get their nutella latte. It's great hot or iced and I've never had a bad one no matter who makes it. It's not overly sweet and has more of an earthy taste then you would expect but coffee drinker or not I've made converts due to this cup of deliciousness. Ambiance wise it's cozy and I can always get a seat (although I would not recommend bringing your whole book club in the evening time). Bottom line unfortunately there are few good independent coffee shops left and this one takes the cake!

This place is great, somehow they make the buddy brew cold brew better then at Buddy Brew, well at least they always seem to make it just sweet enough but not overly. The food- so far I've had a bagel which lets not kid ourselves it's no H&H bagel but they toasted it perfectly and gave me plenty of cream cheese, score! Today I got the breakfast sandwich on Cuban bread with turkey. Whoa they loaded it up with stacks of turkey and nice soft bread. Overall this is a great place to start your day!

Yummy cappuccino and latte, plus breakfast sandwich on a pressed croissant. Funky art decorated the walls inside, but we sat outside & watched the chickens, roosters & baby chicks that roamed the park across the street!!

Hello, hidden gem! A friend's band was playing at The Bunker on a Thursday evening, so I stopped in for the first time. First of all, this place is SUPER cute. I was happy to see that everyone in this place acted like family and you could tell that they were here every week. Every Thursday Amy Schuman Snider from WMNF radio hosts a music night and this truly appears to be a hang out spot for lots of local musicians. All 3 bands that played were great and I am excited to come back and see more. This place is not only a coffee shop, but also serves booze (wait..booze!?). On Thursday nights it is 2 for 1 Sangria and they also serve craft beer and some nice wines. I didn't eat but some friends got food: Quiche and a Turkey, Bacon, Apple, and Swiss Pressed Sandwich. Oh my gosh, I had a bite of the sandwich and it was sinful. If you are in Ybor, stop by for lunch. If you are in Ybor on a Thursday night, stop in for an amazing night of local music with a bunch of friends!

I will never go in there again. The food is not to the standard one would expect from a Hipster coffee shack. The Bricks and King Corona are by far better... This is not the first time this place has let me down and every time I try to complain I get met with aggression and sarcasm... Today's event is the last time I will ever walk into this establishment (which is a shame because I live and work in Ybor), I got my breakfast sandwich and walked home to discover a flat microwaved atomically hot concoction resembling breakfast. I called to receive and insulting and over aggressive employee, who had more excuses of why it's not good and how they will not change... Not a great way to start my morning and a waist of money. Please avoid this place and their "food"... Walk over to 7th Ave and find lots better.

Located in a renovated casita in Ybor City across from Centenial Park. It is a "Bohemian Starbucks". If there were a coffeehouse still around from the 60s, this is what it would look like. Brick walls, local artwork on display, low lighting, relaxing music, friendly staff and patrons and no one in a hurry. With specialty teas and coffee, breakfast, lunch, appetizers, and beer and wine, this is a place to chill. Open 8 am to 4 pm, except Thursdays when there are local music acts until 10 pm and closed Sundays. They have seating at tables, the bar, outside on 19th Street and on patio in back. Plenty of free parking behind the building.

I love this place! Lattes=orgasmic, Cuban bread =heavenly, oatmeal=hearty, fresh and fabulous. Seriously I was surprised that I didn't give the Bunker a review. It is a cute hang out for Saturday morning when you want to visit the farmers market across the street. The staff is adorable and friendly. Grab a book or a paper and chillax. I believe they even host a craft night.

Cutest little coffee store! Coffee is okay! I don't really like buddy brew so it was already a loss for me. Got a quiche and side salad which was decent. I didn't get anything else but the bake goods looked delicious!

Although the food is decent, it shouldn't take over a half hour to make a sandwich. If you serve food, you should be able to do so efficiently and timely. If unable to, take the item off the menu. And if you're a coffee shop, making coffee should be your forte. Unfortunately, the coffees and teas fall short here. The teas especially lack flavor. Interior is a little funky and has outdoor seating in front and back, which is nice, however, they should consider removing the seating around round tables because they're not comfortable and too low for the table. The open mic night and other events may draw me back but I don't anticipate going there if I'm hungry or to satisfy a coffee fix. Not when there are other establishments nearby.

This places hours are posted differently on their flyer and on their door... it is a cute little place inside, but I feel it is almost a hit or miss when you plan on going there because it states they are open and then in reality they are actually closed.

I really like this place. I recently moved in the area and was looking for a coffee shop that was preferably not corporate. It is charming and very inviting. I had their herbal teas and hummus plate, which both were delish!Service was fast and great. Will definitely go back when I am in the area.

This is a great little local coffee shop. I found the staff to be very friendly and the coffee to be really good. It's a nice little coffee shop that doesn't try too hard to be hipster or whatever it just sort of is what it is.

Awesome coffee. Had a great iced coffee here and had a great vegetarian sandwich without cheese. Great neighborhood place to stop by if you're in Ybor City

When The Munch King wakes up Sunday morning, he gives a strong lion-like roar, puts on his awesome Nikes, and sprints down to The Bunker. I order the Parfait, a croissant sandbo, and one of Bunker's fine caffeinated beverages. It's great, gets me ready for the Munch King's trip to Brunch City, USA.

Had the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a pressed croissant. It was tasty. The sandwich had a generous portion of egg. The raspberry iced tea was good as well. Reasonable prices also.

The bunker has great coffee (especially the cold brew and the cafe ybor!) the atmosphere is cute and artsy. I had their chicken salad for lunch one day, which was pretty tasty. Nice quiet place to chill with friends or to get some work done, I visit there every other week- it's a great local coffee house!

Nice atmosphere! Very hipster. The tea was very good. We enjoyed the Cuban sandwich but if your looking for authentic this isn't it. The service was good but the tables were dirty and we had to clean out own.

Great latte- even tried it with almond milk. They're idea, and it was a good one. Great study spot between classes. Watch out for the one wobbly table though.

Baristas don't know what they are doing. Burnt milk, limp foam, overall not proper espresso drinks. Generous 2 stars. I won't be coming back until they learn their craft.

When you visit this place, you will understand why the reviews are so positive. The Bunker has that welcoming atmosphere that says come, sit, relax, and enjoy conversation with friends over a cup of coffee. It is very homey and comfortable. They have live music and looks like it would be a place to enjoy it; unfortunately, we were there during the early afternoon. As we entered we were greeted and made to feel comfortable. There was plenty of seating, the walls had art for sale from local artist, and there were board games if you wanted to socialize while playing. We ordered a basic cup of coffee that did not disappoint. It was very good. Although the basic was very good, the menu offered many different varieties to accessorize your coffee or get a unique set up for taste. If you are Ybor City give this place a try. I am sure you will like it.

The Bunker is a retro style storefront coffee house, just on the outskirts of the Ybor strip with mostly street parking. The interior is basically is a house... or a home away from home, maybe that suits it more. If you get there when they are not crowded, you can practically set up an entire office. I've come here to study, to work online, and even had a job interview here with an infamous company that we are all too familiar with. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming, and have never rushed me. If I lived and in Tampa and worked independently, you would find me at The Bunker at least once a week. Since they only keep office hours.

A great little cafe a few blocks North of Ybor City's famed 7th avenue club circuit. I went on a hot Saturday, a little before noon and found no trouble parking in front of the place. Every table was already taken so I sat at the bar to wait on a friend after ordering. I got the hummus platter and the coffee special which was an amaretto latte with soy milk. The coffee was good, didn't need sweetener and the hummus platter was filling with a good dip to dippers ratio. It came with pita chips, cucumbers, carrots, and celery. A little expensive but for $11, I left satisfied. What really shines at The Bunker, is the atmosphere. Hip and artsy, without being pretentious is a hard nut to crack and they've acheived that here. Having super nice servers helps and the laid back atmosphere was refreshing for such a city that finds its bread and butter in looking "bangable". Everyone in the cafe seemed relaxed and were either watching the game, reading a paper, or working at their laptop. A nice change of pace to start out the weekend.

This is a cool and comfy off-the-beaten-path spot in Ybor, with fresh well-made coffee, a few tasty sandwiches, and a very well presented / tasty hummus plate. I always enjoy the music here since it can be quite unpredictable. The service, on the other hand, has always been friendly. My only complaint is they are not open late.

  • Steve G.

The iced coffee is at issue. Had it for the first time two weeks ago on my first ever visit. It was as expected and OK. This week I returned and was very surprised to be served one that was extremely strong and undrinkable. I asked how they make it and was told they sometimes brew their iced coffee for 24 hours. I should have had the server taste it. To have something to go with my breakfast sandwich I ordered a standard cup of coffee and while drinkable this coffee too had strong though slighter bite in the background of its taste. So is the day's left over coffee used the next day in iced coffee? Or is it retained one day to the next? Will give them another try since it is a very cool space, which everyone says and the owners certainly know. Iced coffee preparation from one staff member and day to another needs management review.

So, I wandered in here one morning to pick up some nice carbs to help tranition me out of a post flu stomach. The Line Up: Oatmeal (with fresh apple pieces) Cuban Toast Hot Chocolate The toast was interesting & presented on a cute plate, not just in huge hunks, but nice sized pieces for portion control and put a bit of a lock on toast dust residuals. The Hot Chocolate was deelish, made with skim & complete with a fancy chocolate syrup design on the top of the foam. I know, I know...hot chocolate is not a post flu friendly bevy, but it looked and smelled good...I figured if I was going to suffer for this choice, I was going to suffer well. Rewarded! I took the oats to go & they were in a hot beverage cup that traveled well. I ate the oats over the duration of a few hours and were delicious and hearty. The amibance and decor of this adorable place was something to look forward to and I want to have lunch here. The GIANT COOKIES looked fabulous, not to mention the muffins--- all home baked. Unique, simple, and pleasing. Bunker, I heart you.

Just visited once for a quick coffee, which was excellent. Did not sample the food but the menu looked good. Seemed to attract a younger, hipper clientele. Great building and interior, and hope to try more next time...and update my review.

I wanted to go out for Brunch and we picked this place. It has your standard items: oatmeal, sandwiches, wraps, etc. If you are looking for something simple, this is the place. Their coffee is perfectly brewed and prepared and the atmosphere is perfect for studying or relaxing.

Couldn't stomach their iced coffee. I should have read the reviews before ordering it, but the drink definitely tasted like leftover coffee. It was super strong, even with milk and sugar, and very, very bitter. I had to toss it half way through. I'm giving it two stars though because I haven't tried anything else there yet, and the atmosphere is nice. Despite the fact that I asked the baristas 3 times for a water cup and never got one. Maybe I'll wander over and try it again some day.

BEWARE: kitchen closes an hour before actually closing time. I went at 3 from across town starving and was told this fact upon entering. What place does this? And if so, why not let people know in the website or under yelp info. Super bummed

Ordered a breakfast Cuban and a cafe con leche... The milk in the coffee was burnt and the sandwich was the worst I've ever had. The eggs came in big round circles of weirdness. Very little cheese (I think it was shredded and very sparse) You would think that the quality would be better because it took so long to get the food. You'd also think you couldn't possibly get a bad Cuban anything in Ybor City. I also waited for quite a while at the counter before being acknowledged, even thought there were two people behind it. I eat out quite often, and haven't ever complained in yelp. This experience sucked.

Haven't had a latte this good since I moved down from Cambridge, Ma! Sadly I live in Boca where places like this are bafflingly non-existent. So happy to discover the bunker on an overnight trip to Tampa. The Cuban toast was yummy and the latte was rich with a nice layer of foam (not bubbly froth). My husband liked the Cuban breakfast sandwich though found it somewhat bland. Maybe add some spice to yours if you want more taste. They don't have scones.

This place is the best!!! I'm a student at HCC Ybor, and I've tried every place in a 10 minute bike ride from campus. Doesn't matter if it's for breakfast, lunch, or a fun social scene - I'm looking at you, Singer/Songwriter Thursdays! - it never disappoints. I snag something off the baked goods section without fail. It's a modest lineup, but it's all so authentic, creative, and quality that they could go toe-to-toe with any of the thoroughbred (and overrated, in my opinion) local bakeries. Homemade matcha shortbread cookies? So good! If you're not into pretentious and overpriced coffee shops like Oxford, but still love connoisseur's coffee and friendly service, this is the spot. Do yourself a favor, grab a friend, and split some cheesy cuban toast here. It oozes Ybor swag and I can't get enough of it!

When I was interning nearby we had two or three "lunch 'n learns" at Tre Amici/The Bunker. Though I'm not a big coffee drinker, I started each session with a small latte and I thought it was pretty good. I love the food. I only ever tried the pressed caprese sandwich, but I dared not venture to anything else because I loved it. Fresh tomato and mozzarella, delicious Cuban bread, fresh fruit on the side. It's a smallish place but they usually have someone roaming around to check on you. I probably came in at 4.5 stars, rounded down to 4 because we had to clear our own table more than once. Not a monumental issue, though, and I'd definitely recommend stopping in for a brew and a bite.

Why 4 stars? Because it's local and friendly. --- --- --- This is the kind of place that it's hard to dislike. Local coffee slingers, without the hipsterish (constantly annoyed) attitude. I'm kind of mad at myself for not trying The Bunker earlier, because my last office was only about 100 yards away. I usually went to El Molino (Naivera) when I wasn't in the mood for the office Keurig. Tre Amici really serves it up though. What's up with both of Ybor's best coffee shops having two names, by the way? I also tried their Cuban...it was far from the best in town, but was pretty good. There isn't much else to say about TAATB, but I was thoroughly pleased and will return when I'm cravin some Joe in Yboe'.

They have an oatmeal, breakfast cookie thing that is the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. I dream about it some nights, and when I am sad, I think about it to cheer me up. The coffee and atmosphere are good, too; but that cookie-thing... Damn, yo!

I love this spot. Every time I visit Tampa, this is where I break out my laptop and get work done. The decor and staff are warm and welcoming, they have great coffee, a decent selection of food and pastries, awesome music playing in the background, and free wifi to boot. And if I'm in a boozing mood, they've got beer and wine. The best part is that I can stay here and work for hours and the only time I get "hassled" is when they come around and ask me if I need more hot water for my tea or a free coffee refill. They get me REALLY perked up every time I come here. Um, can I give this place like 10 stars?

The Bunker is also a place for discovering singer/songwriters on Thursday nights. A small crowd gathers for free concerts: three artists (or groups) perform a few songs between 7:30 and 9 or 10 p.m. Food, wine, beer and coffee drinks are available. Nice, friendly group. The artists often hang around and share stories. Been a couple of times lately. Heard bluegrass and new-grass, acoustic folk and blues. Enjoyed a huge and filling chicken salad sandwich on a croissant. Easy free street parking. Worth the visit if you like music, An all-ages crowd has been there both times I visited. Will go back. Want to try the pressed Cuban.

I love this place. The people, employees and patrons alike, are phenomenal. Always a good time when I go. I wish they stayed open later, I'd rather sit around here than my own living room. There's plenty of parking in the area, I always manage to find a spot on 8th but there's typically spots right out front, too. There's live music on Thursdays which brings in a great crowd. It's an espresso & wine bar with a pretty good menu, what's not to love?

I'm torn between wanting everyone to know how awesome I think this place is and wanting to keep it a secret all to myself. Because I only want the best for them, I guess I will share them with you. I've been three times now. I spotted them around the corner while dining down the street and thought the umbrellas were a nice touch. I then found them on Yelp and decided to give them a try. They are a great place to go for lunch. It's a really chill atmosphere, great for a quick lunch meeting. The best part? AMAZING sammies! Making that even better? Great sides to choose from! I highly recommend the side salad. It's not some cheap lettuce thrown together with a bottled dressing. It's greens, almonds, cranberries, cheese, and Italian dressing. A delicious way to get some ruffage in (if you know what I mean). This is what I've had so far: Easy Caprese- a caprese sammie on some delicious bread pressed to perfection. I gobbled up every bit of it. Washington Turkey- apples and cheese with my turkey? yes, please. ON scrumptious bread? yes, please. I've had several sandwiches that try to incorporate cheese and apples. This is by far the best attempt. Again, I gobbled up every last bite. Cuban sandwich- This is my lunch today... like right now... seriously. I don't think that they make it with pulled pork anymore as mine looked sliced, but it was still delicous. With all the rich tasting meats, it tasted kind of like the offspring of the Cuban and Reuban but with the Cuban having the more dominant genes. OK, I guess you just learned I majored in biology. Anyways, very good. I'm fighting to not finish the other half. And the only reason I'm not gobbling it down is because I got a freshly baked slice of their Java banana cake. Sigh- so sinful! This time they topped it with chocolate chips. Yes, their sandwiches aren't the cheapest around but the really are a good price for what you're getting: a made-to-order pressed sammie with quality ingredients and a side included. Besides, they have a loyalty card: every $10 spent you get a punch and after 5 punches you get a $10 gift card. So you get $10 back for every $50 spent! Ladies, beware. Today there was a rather dashing looking fellow with a very nice Irish accent working there. I'm taken, but if you're single I believe his name is Jason and I'm sure you'll know who he is when you walk in :) Finally, try their tropical mango iced tea. So "refreshing" as my friend would say. A perfect treat for any time since we live in Florida.

This coffee house is a GEM in the city of Ybor, FL. My Better Half and I love going to new and trendy places. We decided to skip out from our usual coffee chain and wanted to get into the community more. We found this on Yelp and decided to check it out. There is a front patio, back patio and current and comfortable inside. I LOVE IT!!!!! Talk about beautiful and trendy. We love it ... the food is great, service is friendly and the environment is upbeat and hip. I LOVE IT ... I am a busy woman and enjoy my rest and relaxation. This place delivers when it comes to welcoming new comers and giving inspiration for writing. I am a writer and professor, you can believe I will be inspired in this beautiful establishment. 5 STARS ... if you see me sitting in deep concentration ... it is because I am - this place is my new inspiration. Housed within a historic structure that was relocated, renovated and returned to its original state as a café, Tre Amici brings a lot more to the table than just a selection of coffee and tea, beer and wine, breakfast and lunch items, pastries and desserts. The beige brick building has become a popular gathering spot for creative debates, inspiring presentations and thoughtful discussions. It's also cultivating local creativity by showcasing homegrown talents in both the visual and performing arts. Built in 1926 and formerly operating as Two Friends Café, the business first welcomed cigar rollers who lived and worked in Ybor City before being remodeled and re-purposed as a popular hangout for war veterans who dubbed it The Bunker. Saved from destruction by the Ybor City Museum Society, The Bunker was moved to its current location across from Centennial Park, near the Ybor City Museum and next to the Arnold Martinez Art Gallery, where it was salvaged and successfully re-launched. Open daily, Tre Amici offers indoor and outdoor seating which can often be a nice option in Central Florida. The menu is a little limited but what I have tried has been consistently well done.

Awful. The worst coffee I have had anywhere- including gas stations and instant coffee in Asia. I drink my coffee black so I can really tell when it is bad coffee. Way too light and cheap. The only plus is that the interior is nice.

The very relaxed atmosphere almost draws the customer from off the street into the cool and quiet interior of this coffeehouse/cafe. There is a tremendous selection of coffee drinks and light breakfast and lunch items available in this roomy, artist-bohemian-style cafe. The espresso drinks are expertly prepared, and Tre Amici staff offer coffee in individualized french presses, a rarity among most coffee shops these days. The food is fresh and seems to be mostly, if not entirely, made on the premise. A group in my office sampled the Kentucky Derby Pie, (about $2.99, if I recall correctly) one of the tastiest pastry/pie concoctions of chocolate, pecan, brown sugar, butter and I don't know what else - coconut? I have every had (one of the richest,as well). The lunch salads are fresh and well designed, with a nice balance between sweet and tart in the Bunker Salad ($6.49). The Quiche of the Day is fresh, warm and rich and comes with a fresh chopped salad featuring a homemade apple-cucumber-raspberry vinaigrette, which is worth the price of the meal ($5.99) by itself. The appetizers, such as the hummus plate ($6.00), are freshly made (including the unique and flavorful hummus), tasty and filling enough for a light lunch or substantial snack. The Bunker is a little off the beaten track (not necessarily a bad thing), and sometimes the service can be a little too casual, especially if one has a limited time for a meal. Consider that in the mildest critical light possible, because all-in-all, this is a great place to spend some time in the increasingly corporate food environment of Ybor City.

Good coffee. Weird hours. Live music is pretty nice. If you sit outside the music isn't loud. Local radio 88.5 is there sometimes to host events it seems like. Good if you want to see some signer/songwriters. They have open mic nights too, and beer. So it is quite possible to make Buzz Beer at this establishment.

What an awesome find! We stopped by after a Saturday at the beach on our way back home, as a friend needed to do some business in the jewelry boutique next door. We walked in and the aroma of the coffee gave it a nice homey feel, in addition to the unique decor and laid back atmosphere. Great ambiance! We ordered a cuban and shared it, but I wish I would have gotten my own. Best I've ever had! This is the part of town to find a Cuban, so if there's better down here, please point the way! The sandwich came with plantain chips, which were yummy. We also got two local beers (love that there's no Bud or Coors or Miller), Cigar City Jai Alai and a Citrus beer from a St. Pete Brewery. They washed our sandwich down just fine. They were cooking some fine smelling cookies, along with their breakfast cookies for the next morning. I could seriously hang out here and read or work on my laptop and just enjoy the environment. Free wi-fi, lots of seating (they really maximize the space well), good food, and friendly employees. Did not sample the coffee, but I'll make sure to do that next time, while checking out the breakfast options.

If you're a studious hipster who is in serious need of coffee and wanders lifelessly into Ybor's streets... you can bunk up happily in Bunker Coffee. APPEARANCE The bricks and dark wood interior made me want to curl up with a book. All I needed was a fire. Perhaps a guitarist crooning lost love in the corner? The positions of the furniture invited conversation... and this coffee house follows the trend of its peers of having a mild obsession with chalk boards. COFFEE I like my coffee flavors like my men... strong! (^_^) Thank you Bunker. Whether it's cold or hot, there's no watery crap here. The coffee bean shines while any added flavors play as great supporting actors. An employee told me they steep the coffee in room temp water OVERNIGHT-- maybe that's why the ice coffee is good? Prices are a very slightly lower difference to Starbucks. SERVICE Even if they're busy (like closing time) the staff is still quick to greet and keep you updated on when they can help you. Communication = great relationships.

A good place to sit down with some low intensity school or busy work. Ask for the mocha latte. Rich and chocolate-y. Definitely enjoyed the ambiance with the punk rock and buddy holly tunes. Leave your mark on the bathroom chalkboard!

This is a good option for a working coffeehouse atmosphere. It's on a side street so parking is no problem. It's cozy without being too small and you don't feel weird staying for a couple hours. The coffee is delicious (I always do a latte to stay... the real mug is comforting). As others have suggested, the food (both savory and sweet) is delicious. Hummus with warm pita and veggies is always a good eat-while-you-work snack, the tarts are yum, and the cookies are fresh baked and fabulous. The staff are also warm and do not give off that unfriendly too-cool-for-school vibe.

Nice relaxing coffee shop with unique art work on the walls. Good not great coffee but they offer free refills.

The Cuban bread is really good. I had the caprese sandwich, and would get that again.

I was in Tampa on business and I needed a spot for 1-on-1 interviews. I lucked out and found this place. Really cool part of Tampa and a hip low-key spot that has a lot less of a corporate feel than Starbucks or any other coffee chain. Food was pretty good and my latte was great. If you're looking for a coffee and your in this area I would choose this and support a local business.

Another awesome hideaway place where you can do your homework, work, gather your thoughts in an eclectic athmosphere! I really enjoyed the place. Menu a little weak but overall is cool place.

I don't know why, but this place is really growing on me. Maybe it's the outstanding coffee I get every time I walk through the door. Or maybe it's the funky atmosphere. Or possibly the awesome service I keep receiving. I even got a sandwich to nosh on last time, and it turned out to be delicious. The everchanging art on the walls is a nice touch too. There are plenty of places to get a cup in Ybor, but this one is special for a lot of reasons. I hope more people can find it since it's not directly on 7th Ave. (though just two blocks away), and it's converted bungalow home is a true treasure. Give them a whirl the next time you're in the area... especially if, like me, you enjoy working from public spaces. A wonderful spot in the city for productivity and great coffee and food. And at some point, I intend to hit the booze as well :)

A top local coffeehouse. The drinks are delicious, they serve a great Cuban, and the place positively adorable being of contemporary design in an historic building. The location on chill 19th street adds to the charm.

By far, the best yogurt and granola fruit parfait I've ever tasted in an eclectic, comfy setting. Love this place!

Great coffee. That's all you really need! We tried the scone which was very fresh and tasty. I was happy to see flat white on the drink list, but I had to go with cold brew since it was so hot out.

I have to update my last review although I thought I had already but since it's not showing here it is. After a very disappointing experience, the Bunker has redeemed itself to it's original good standing. As I had mentioned, guess it was a very off day. It's still a nice coffee shop.

They say that it's hard to find a good cup of coffee anymore because everyone is selling it on every street corner. And while that does seem to be the case more and more, there are good places to find espresso heaven and cool atmosphere. Here I've found that this place have impressed me alot. Really terrific coffee and they roast in house a full menu of great food clean and cool interior great website! lots of info staff makes you feel right at home, relaxed and helpful

The Bunker is a great place to have a lunch meeting, catch up with a friend or someone special as well as spend a few WiFi hours "working" during the day. Been a fan since they opened and the owners have learned and made improvements regularly. During the summer of 2010 they lowered prices making it easy to become a regular. The food is good and the teas and coffee are always tasty. They have a small but good selection of wine and beer. The seating is comfortable and they have outside seating in front and behind so there is plenty of room. I'm a daytime visitor so I don't have any personal experience with the evening events they do but anytime a local place adds diverse entertainment options I think it is a good thing. FIRST TIMERS: The service is good albeit a bit awkward for newbies which is typical in cafes it seems. You never know if you should go to the counter, wait for help or call out... that said they have a bell at the counter that says "don't be shy" or "you know you want to" so use it! ;-)

I basically lived here for about two days and really got a kick out of this place. Perched in Ybor City, it's a short walk to grab a bite (or, I guess, a drink or a cigar), but I found the staff genuinely friendly and engaging from the word go. It was an ideal spot to talk a little shop while sipping on my seventh italian soda. The layout's pretty simple and straightforward as coffee shops go: plenty of open seating most days, open and airy ambiance, which lends itself to being able to chat while others do the same (one thing that can be rather challenging about coffee shops in my experience is those that are super quiet and highly echo-inducing). There's a small patio out back if the weather's too inviting to be denied. But in a pinch, you'll be hard pressed to find a spot that doesn't seem comfy right away.

This place has accommodated every single open mic our company has hosted. Food is great, events are intimate and the staff is great at their jobs. Awesome place to chill and surf the web, listen to live music and catch Ybor fever

Had the cafe con leche at this place and I gotta say, it was pretty fucking surprisingly good. Creamy, sweet and smooth with bold undertones. When I'm in the mood, this is it.

Great drinks. Yummy sweet nosh (burbon chocolate pecan mini pie?!). Wish they had a larger tea selection, but the visit is definitely worth the comfy seating and free wifi. Best place to kill an our or two when in the Ybor area. If you're looking for savory food, they do have breakfast, a few sandwiches and salads, but the kitchen hours are inconsistent so make sure they're serving. The sign outside says Ybor's living room- come hang out!

I've only partaken in the "coffee shop" aspect of this coffee shop and wine bar, but it is a fantastic place to dig in and get some work done. Great selection of food that is made with love when you order it. Awesome atmosphere - local art that changes regularly. And the baristas/servers are cool without seeming like they're trying too hard. Wish the hours went a little later on Sundays especially, but otherwise a fantastic find!

The only coffee shop in Tampa that compares to coffee shops in San Francisco. Actually, it's better than all of the coffee shops in San Francisco.

Iced toddy in Tampa? I'm sold. It was a little bitter, but half a cup was all I needed to get wired for the rest of the day. I was awake until 4 am! Now that is some serious caffeine!

Stopped in after a meeting downtown. Whopping 10 minute drive. Nice atmos' and super friendly people behind the "bar". I always like a place that serves coffee and wine and beer. You never know what mood you will be in. I had a carrot cake muffin because they are so healthy and I needed a serving of veggies:) It was de-lish. Next time I come, I hope to sit outside. I prefer sitting outside when the humidity and temp aren't 85+. This place hopefully is one step closer to putting Starbucks out of Biz:)

Always have good food and good service at The Bunker! The staff are super friendly and the food is always SO fresh. Their hummus is amazing and so are their Quiche! It's a great place to catch up with a friend or get some work done. I'll definitely be back.

Warm orange furniture. Cool light fixtures. Excellent coffee. The staff was very friendly. I saw 3 very cute girls sitting around drinking beverages the morning I was there. I told my friend that he should hang out there. He said he has a woman. This would be my day time hangout to get work done etc if I lived in Tampa. It kind of made me want to move to Tampa.

This is a great place to go chill....came across it during my final days in tampa...what i like is its low key vibe....nice couches an chairs and free wi-fi. When you walk in there's a nice set of magazines you can help yourself to. The coffee is amazing and is from local roaster "Buddy Brew". Iyou can get a glass, but i they have presspots which are great. They also have a good menu with small bites. The veggie sandwich was excellent they have a pretty cool live music series on thursday nights One of the other things i like is that there' s seating outside....they have tables in front as well as a nice patio out back....not a lot of people have caught on to this place which is great, but i truly love ybor and this is just a great place to hang. The only thing i'm not a fan of are the hours, they close early during the week so beware....

In the war against the artificial coffee chains head for "the bunker" for good coffee in a comfortable environment. Located in the historic Ybor city district of Tampa, I had to try their Cafe con Leche. I was very please with the smooth taste of my preferred Cuban coffee beverage when visiting Florida. The cafe's environment was another plus. Comfortable seating and enough space between tables so that your conversation is not downed out by parties at nearby tables. Lastly, another bonus are the board games and magazines for patron use. Probably the best overall coffee house experience in Tampa.

I recently had to drop my little brother and cousin off at Busch Gardens for the day, and I figured rather than drive all the way back to Orlando only to have to drive back a few hours later, why not just find a cute spot to hang out in Tampa? I went to tre Amici because of the reviews I saw on Yelp, and I'm glad I did. I love that place!! It's a very cute, I liked the ambiance--relaxed but not stuffy. Service was really friendly and helpful the entire time I was there (which was from around 3pm til 7:30 pm). They have free wifi, which is always a plus. It was really hard to decide what I wanted from the menu only because everything on the menu--from the salads to the sandwiches and appetizers--just looked sooo good. I finally decided on the Mozzarella Bruschetta which was sooo yummy--it was served with real fresh mozzarella, diced tomatoes, and it was served on toasted cuban bread and drizzled with balsamic glaze. Best bruschetta I've ever had--seriously. I also got a iced coffee, and the white sangria which were also both very good. I would definitely come back to this place--I only wish I lived closer!

Great first impression from Tre Amici! Loved in the ambiance of this place. The walls are covered with art from a local artist that does different depictions of Buddha. I especially loved them because recently I have delved into the ways of Buddhism and really appreciate it's culture and meaning. Might actually save up for one of the paintings. I went here for a poetry reading, so it's rude to ask for an espresso during the performance, so I decided to try out their sangrias (buy one get one free). I'm picky about sangria and this was actually pretty decent. I would give the red sangria 3.5 out of 5 stars, and the white sangria 1 star. The red was delicious, I enjoyed the brush of cinamon on the top. No fruit- this makes me sad. The white sangria tasted like orange juice. Anyways, I'm excited about going back and use the free wifi.

I am a die hard Starbucks strumpet and this spot was definitely better! I had an Iced Zebra Mocha (white mocha & mocha mix) and it was awesome! 60 cents more than Starbucks for the same size but tre AMICI's talls are like Starbucks' grandes. Ambiance is wonderful and the decor very cozy. Only disappointed that they have holiday hours -- what coffee shop closes at 3pm?!!

Very good place. I've been only a few times, but the coffee has always been good and my wife loved the desserts that they have. Pretty cool when a place can make the transition from coffee house to wine bar, and pull both off pretty well.

  • Luke H.

The nicest coffee house in town. Pulls off coffee house better than wine bar, but both can be had here. I love the free newspapers and magazines. This place is designed so well, with excellent seating options, and good artwork on the walls. The place is always spotless, and parking is easy. It is at the East end of the trolley stop, so it has the elusive public transit access.

This is a great coffee bar. I can't say enough about it. It may be the most perfect coffee place I have ever been to. This is by go-to place. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They have the Wall Street Journal to read every day as well as the local St Pete Times, and numerous magazines. Free WiFi too, and a large screen TV for news/sports. The coffee is excellent, and I regularly come in for the cuban sandwich with dipping sauce and plantain chips. mmmm. The decor is really cool and has awesome character. The building is really old, with exposed brick, but it has been done up really nice, with a bunch of local art on the walls and a very unique chandelier over the bar. Worth becoming a regular of this place!

I was in Ybor City on business last week, and this place was recommended to me for its charm, ambiance and good coffee. I was going to wander my way down to the starb*cks that I'd seen the day before, but I was glad I didn't. Tre AMICI is a charming coffehouse/import beer/wine establishment. I partook in their free wi-fi and worked out of one of their comfy chairs instead of driving the hour back to town. The coffee was very good, and the waitstaff was extremely helpful - they'd bring the coffee to your table when it was ready. You see, this isn't your instant "push a button get a latte" coffee house. Each coffee was measured/ground and made just for you. I had their cuban sandwich for lunch, and I was impressed. The bread was very crispy, and it was served on an actual to goodness china plate with a large helping of plantain chips. I went to their website and read up on the history of the building, and I was astounded to find that the owners of the establishment, in conjunction with the city of Ybor had MOVED this historic building from several blocks away to where it stands now. You should see the construction photos. I have never seen that type of concern for a building within the Orlando city limits. I was impressed by the interior of the shop, not a detail was overlooked. All the electrical outlets had stainless steel faceplates, and the light switches too. It is little things like this that I adore. In a word - CHECK THEM OUT!

I like this place. Great alternative to Starbucks. I especially like their espresso cookies. They are the bomb. Great coffee selection, good sandwiches. I would like them to expand their menu to have more selections. Glad that they started trivia on Fridays.

This place is awesome. I can't believe it's in tampa. I moved here from California four years ago and have mostly given up on finding a place that had the trifecta: atmosphere, friendly staff and killer food. At best, local places have two of three. Even for those rare places that have great food and service (there are a couple in town) the atmosphere bites. Keep in mind, this is only a light fare coffee/sandwich cafe, but for what it is, it is killer. Great light fare food (the basil hummus was wicked awesome), the staff treated us like family, and the cozy yet urban atmosphere is something I would expect to see in in San Francisco or Seattle. If you are from Tampa and love Tampa eateries and have no idea what I am talking about, you will hate this place. If you are from anywhere else in western civilization, you will love this place.
