The ground beef in the hard shell tacos was bland and tasteless! You would think with the quality of the food far beyond authentic and mediocre that the service would make up for it... Guess again! They had a 3 taco combo with a side of rice and beans and when asked if I could have 2 beef and 1 chicken she acted as if it was going to be mission impossible! After giving me slight attitude she annoyingly gave in. Have people forgotten the importance of great customer service! Especially when compensating for food quality...Por favor people!!!!!!!! Never again!

I really enjoyed dinner. The service was good. The atmosphere was not loud and tense. It's good for small families. The best part is the food. It's very fresh and authentic unlike the Mexican restaurant Vallartas nearby. Their food was old and burnt. Here I left with a great experience and will likely come back.

The food is more like a 4, and you have to choose knowledgeably to get there, because some choices are better than others. (The tamales are especially good, though our family prefers them without the sauce they put on top.) But this place is a 5 because this is a really nice family willing to get to know their customers so they can learn to do what makes those customers happy. An added benefit is when you get to be seated by the little girls, who are so proud of themselves when they do so. This is exactly the kind of homey restaurant one wants in a small community like Temple Terrace

Love this places go at least 3 times a week. Servers are really good and chicken and steak Acapulco is the best. Vallarta no air conditioning rude service and didn't even leave the bill.

Nothing special about this place at all. Everything was bland. I came here with my mom and my 2 year old daughter. My mom ordered the nachos supreme, I ordered a chicken and cheese quesadilla for myself with refried beans and rice. The quesadilla was really good, but the beans and rice were bland. I added some salt and they were still tasteless. My mom and I ordered mojitos and they came back looking like mountain dews with lime in them. They had no mint and didn't taste of mint. They tasted like soda with a weird unauthentic lime flavor. I think they make their drinks with syrups and not actual ingredients. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because of the quesadilla I had that was halfway decent. My mom said the food was a waste about 3 times, and I agree. She said we could've gone to Applebee's, and that was an understatement. Never returning.

Will not come here again tried this place twice and both times short rude service. Cold food, not made how I ordered it. Cheese dip is $3.99 and I received maybe 3 tbs of dip. It was awful both times. Go just about anywhere but here.

I just love this place. The people are so friendly and seeing it grow is so encouraging. The food is good as well, totally addicted to the fried ice cream! Thank you for working and serving so hard.

Better food and drinks than the other Mexican restaurant in temple terrace. Servers seem apprehensive and what's with no music or sound on the TV? I felt awkward eating anything crunchy because it was so quiet in there. But overall we'll be back cause it's significantly better than Vallarta's.

Paid $13 for strip tacos that were nothing but a few pieces of shrimp and a tortilla. The staff seemed nice enough but the food was beyond over priced. Won't be going back.

I choose to eat at Tequilas at least once a week. The service is great and always friendly, the food is always fresh and delicious. It's family owned and run, and I love supporting small business. I give it 5 stars! PJ

Never again. The nachos supreme (beef) was a failure. There were only bits of flavorless beef scattered over a generous amount of lettuce. The cheese used tasted very cheap as well. It actually tasted like evaporated milk. We also had quesadillas. Guess what - we only got 4 miniature triangles (2-3 inches in length) for each serving. I was more than baffled by the small portion. It did not even taste good! We had a waitress that was very kind; however, there was a younger one who had some attitude. I was shocked to see my bill as well, and since they use an outdated receipt system, you would not know what you paid for unless you logged your orders or asked. My bill was just too high considering the small portions and underwhelming food. We could have went to Tijuana Flats or Chilis and had a feast. A FEAST.

My boyfriend I had driven by this place a lot, and he always talked about how he wanted to check it out, so we did. We were the only guests at that time, the server was friendly, we ordered drinks, she brought them, along with chips with salsa. She proceeded to ask if we wanted queso or guacamole, I said queso. We get out entrées, and mine tasted ok, could have used more flavor. Forward to when we get the check, and there's an item for 3.95. We ask, and it was the queso. The amount of cheese that she gave us was about 4 tablespoons worth, and she never informed us of the price, nor that it wasn't on the house, like the chips and salsa were. We were bothered at this point, because had we known the petty rip off that she was trying to do, and did, we would not have agreed to her offer. My boyfriend points out to her that she should inform her customers when something is extra, and not on the house. At this point, the waitress starts snapping at him "what, did you think the cheese was free??" No, but not $4.00 for such a small amount either. We payed, and left, and she didn't bother to say "have a good day" or anything at all, along with mumbling to another employee who came in, clearly about the issue. Uncomfortable and unpleasant experience, we do not recommend it.

Apparently, this is just a failed location. The place was filled with smoke. Like, almost the inability to see kind of smokey. It was also disgustingly hot. We were looking for some takeout for the evening and knew Tequila had opened a few weeks ago, along with the fact that they left a menu on our door last week. We saw the prices are were a bit turned off by how expensive they were for a Mexican place. So, it came down it it; does the food suck? The answer is yes. I've had better generic brand enchiladas that have sat out for several hours too long. All of the meats are dry, there is no flavor, and their queso is 2/3 water. "Served with fresh lettuce salad with fresh avocado slices" Oh, yes, they failed to mention it is actually some pre-made Cisco guacamole. Oopsie. I will never order anything from this establishment again.

I'm not a fan at all. The food is overpriced and not very good at all. We have been several times because I keep wanting to try and hope that it gets better as I love supporting family owned businesses.

Wonderful service, excellent food! We have been here for both lunch and dinner at least five times since it opened this month. Can't get enough of the freshly prepared food and friendly atmosphere. I especially love the steak burrito - huge and delicious! This is the third restaurant at this location and at last, this one is worthy of our patronage. My husband and I never leave hungry. So if you are in the mood for good, authentic mexican food - be prepared for large portions - this is the place to go.

I am really surprised at a couple of bad reviews on here. I suggest those people try it again. Every single time I eat here and I go often the food is fresh and delicious. I have tried many different items and everything is excellent. It is hard to not order the flan every time even though I am way to full to eat it. Also the re fried beans are probably the best I have ever had. I will also echo the earlier reviews about the service - this is a family owned restaurant and they could not be nicer people. If you had a bad experience, try again.

Excellent service and food. I don't think I've had such attentive friendly service in a long time. We just moved down the street and we will definitely be eating here again. Not sure why it doesn't have more positive reviews, so I felt compelled to write one. You definitely won't be disappointed.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
