I live very close by and every time I go to this location there is a problem with the food. Last time not only did I have a hair in my food but my shake tasted like the milk that was used was spoiled. Very disappointing!

When we pulled into a stall for 2 sodas at 10 pm on a Sat. night, I was excited to see they had a promo for Bucs cups! It's great that local businesses support their hometown team. (Go Fins! - sorry) And that's about the end of positive feedback from this location. After placing our order I noticed an impatient looking family at a table. After 5 mins., I noticed 2 people from another car come across the lane and began knocking on Sonic's door. It seemed they were patiently waiting for their order also. Eventually a girl came out and brought them their food. As they are all standing there for some time, I'm noticing the server pull out her cell to use the calculation function to compute their change! Who can't make change? Eventually they return to their car and the family on the patio yelled over to her about their order. Minutes go by before she brings them their order and on the way back inside the 2 gentlemen in their car go back up to her w/a complaint. It seems like they were missing something from their order. She comes back out to give them what they were missing and the table informs her THEY are missing something also from their order. Meanwhile, we're still waiting for 2 sodas. Are you following here? So I press the button and ask the manager on duty what is taking so long for just 2 sodas. Her reply? "See that little girl running around outside? She's the only one working". That shut me up! After that, the family at the table isn't eating or drinking and is still looking distressed. I see the girl come out again and give them a second product. Then she's standing there trying to make change a second time! The family gathered their food and drinks and walked off passing our car and yelled at us that they don't understand how a server didn't know how to make change. I just smiled. Eventually we got our two sodas (after 20 min!) and I made sure I had correct change to give Bre. Ohhh, but that's not the end. I received a prize! When we got back to our hotel room, I took the lid off of mine to eat some of their ice. What did I pull out? About a 4" long curly white object that resembled a hair! Yum. Current health inspection: 2-high priority, 4-intermediate & 4-basic violations.

I usually love sonic, especially after a night of drinking. But I have to admit I was disappointed when they advised us that the chicken basket with gravy and toast is a thing of the past. The new chicken tenders that come with a meal are more like chicken leather bites or mine were overcooked. They were like everlasting gobstoppers! On a brighter note it did come with cold fries and a soft drink.

Had to wait 20 minutes for an order of a simple shake and kids meal, after I had to remind the staff that Im still waiting for my meal.

I have a fondness for Sonic milkshakes. They are definitely worth a trip through the drive-thru (or drive-in) if you are in the area. The Oldsmar location that I used to frequent closed down a while ago, so if I find myself in the Tampa area, I might drive a bit out of the way for a treat. The location of this particular Sonic is right next to a strip club, so to be honest it isn't exactly my favorite place to be around...but dang it...for a hot fudge milkshake I will go out of my way to pull through the Sonic drive thru!

LOVE this Sonic location! You can't beat the refreshing flavors of limeades and slushees at Sonic. Not only are the beverages great, but the food is always fresh and delicious. I ordered two meals with fries, an order of popcorn chicken, and the strawberry cheesecake bites. They were out of the cheesecake bites so I was kind of bummed. Then, he told me they were out of ranch for the popcorn chicken. I started to get a little annoying, but the staff member helping me was very apologetic. When he came out with my food, he apologized and said the popcorn chicken would be another three minutes. OK...getting a little more annoyed again, but he's trying to be so nice and helpful so I let it go. Then, he tells me that they found one order of the cheesecake bites left and he would give them to me for free since I had so many issues. Umm...yes, please! That's all he needed to say to make me happy again. It's customer service like this that makes me leave an establishment happy and continue to return. If you're in the mood for some greasy deliciousness, go to this Sonic!

I arrive at this Sonic around 9pm on a Tuesday, and after ordering have to wait 8 minutes for my fries and milkshake, and my friend's burger, fries and drink. Milkshake is good, I'll give it that. Fries are lukewarm, and chewy. Fries are a size smaller than ordered, ketchup forgotten. My buddy's sweet tea never came. We ask for the ketchup and tea, no one arrives after 6 minutes, so we leave. That's not how you run things, even at 9pm on a Tuesday night. Just sayin'.

Dale Mabry Sonic! For when you need a breakfast burrito at 2pm and you also want to maybe see strippers go to the Subway across the street. Just like every other Sonic on the planet, the food is good enough, quick enough, and priced just fine. This particular location has a drive-thru as well.

This is what a "family-sized" fries looks like. After they made us wait because they messed up our order.

Sonic is not one of my favorite places to eat, but this location on southern Dale Mabry is certainly convenient after a late-night run to see a certain lovely nurse at Tampa General. You'll find this particular Sonic just north of I-275 amid all of the "gentlemen's clubs" in this stretch of Dale Mabry. I'm not sure of the exact hours of this drive-through, but I know that they're open well past Midnight. The history of the Sonic chain can be traced back to 1953 and a small root beer stand called Top Hat in Shawnee, Oklahoma. After successfully operating a handful of Top Hat locations, the owners changed the name of the existing locations to "Sonic" - as a match for their slogan, "Service at the Speed of Sound." Now speaking of service, you have two different ways to order and receive your food at this Sonic. You can either pull through the traditional drive-through entrance -- just past 2001 Odyssey gentlemen's club (Make it rain in the space ship, baby!) -- place your order at the window, and exit to the north near the Winn-Dixie shopping center. Your other option is to turn into one of Sonic's covered stalls, roll down your window, read the menu posted on the divider next to your car, and finally press the button to place your order with someone inside the restaurant. The food is cooked to order and then rushed out to your car by one of their servers, who will collect the money and then leave you to eat in peace. We've all seen the TV commercials with the two guys sitting in their car and snarfing down Sonic food and drinks while cracking jokes. Avoid the temptation to try out your best Sonic humor on the servers -- they've heard it all before, and will likely dump the milkshake on your head! Sonic's menu has the usual assortment of burgers, Coney's and hotdogs, chicken sandwiches & strips, breakfast burritos, frozen slushie drinks, milkshakes, fries, onions rings, tots, and so on. My late night meal of choice is the grilled Asiago Caesar chicken sandwich with a root beer float. It's prolly full of a bazillion calories, and I know that my doctor would have kittens since there is no way that this food can possibly be good for my cholesterol levels, but it tastes so darned good in the middle of the night. I have to say that I've seen my share of cars full of highly inebriated people pulling through here late at night, so expect this place to be noisy and crazy. I guess I'm glad there's a place where people can fill up on food and non-alcoholic drinks before they continue on their journeys.

I stopped the other night on Dale Mabry. I was on my way to see my mom & knew she would love a milkshake. It was after 8PM, so I got what I thought was a deal of 2 shakes for the price of 1. I arrived at her house milkshakes in hand & a big smile, soon she was also smiling. We put the straws in & got 1 sip of a tasty shake. Then we went to disperse the whip cream into the shake & confusion & disillusionment was being realized. This whip cream did not stir in and consumed the shake. It really was a scary sight. We kept fighting it & trying to get the shake to blend, after all, who can sit there with ice cream in front of them & not eat it?#!? I finally got the gist of the problem. Instead of a heaping helping of whip cream, it was marshmallow whip. No wonder our shakes turned into concrete! After trying & tasting, trying & tasting & repeat, it was a lost cause on the milkshakes. Unfortunately we had consumed enough to feel physically I'll & totally bloated. During our marshmallow stupor & OD, we laid in pain. Talk consisted od a burp here & their & discussions of our physical discomfort. Never thought a milkshake could make you sick, but live & learn. What's a girl to do? Ya can't give up ice cream, but you sure can easily verify whip cream.

I've been waiting to try sonic for years! We dont have them where I'm from but I knew of their delicious drink selections and tempting hot dogs. So when I came down to Tampa I made it a point to swing by and get a shake and a pretzel dog. I had a hard time choosing which shake to go with but I'm a big fan of coconut so I got the the coconut cream one, and I'm glad I did. It was everything I'd hoped for. The small was more than enough along side my hot dog, which was also very tasty. The prices were also really cheap, even for fast food, so that was nice. I hope to come back before I head back home in a week and a half, I definitely have to try out some more shakes!

Stawberry limeade is the best drink on the menu. Real strawberry pieces, and just enough tartness. Great refreshment for the summer!
