Only edible items on the menu are under Chaat and beverages. Order anything else, you will repent. We visited this evening and ordered Ragda Patis Chaat, Gobi Manchurian, Vada Pav, Falooda and Mango shake. Vada paav and Mango shake were ok, rest of the items were really bad. Gobi Manchurian had lot of vinegar, when I returned it they put a lot of sauce in it and gave it back. Worst Gobi Manchurian ever. There are too many options in the Fowler area. Stay away from this place.

I would highly reccomend researching Indian sweets before hand, because they are of little or no help telling you what it is... From what I tried, I would reccomend the gulab jamun. It's a small light or darker colorered ball with the texture of bread and is soaked in this sweet sugary syrup. I also tried the Jalebi which is this orange pretzel looking dessert. It too is smothered in a syrup and its supposed to be crunchy but I think it was stale and just tasted like oil... Not good. Also tried some of the fudge that they had and was not impressed by the flavor. Desserts were subpar, service wasn't that great, and not to mention it was dirty inside. I don't think I'll be returning to try the buffet.

Average food. I like the place it's clean not like a lot of the other indian restaurants I have been to. Although I rated it a 3 I would probably go back. I had the buffet I wish I had just ordered individual items. Next time I'll give it a try!

Buffet here is awesome! Until discovering Royal Sweets, we had been going to India Grill for Indian food. I used to pass this place all the time and never thought to go in and try the food. I thought it was a place to just get Indian sweets. Luckily, we decided to go in and were able to try so much, and were so surprised! Almost everything (except the Paneer Pakodas) was so good. I think the entire menu is vegetarian, but I could be wrong. Also, be aware that everything is normally pretty spicy. You need to specify for it to be mild if you can't handle that kind of heat. I love that the restaurant is clean and you can see much of the kitchen. It always gives me more confidence, especially when up in the USF area. (I'm easily grossed out when we eating out if I see dirty anything - dishes, bathrooms, tables, etc.) It's great that they have a sink outside of the bathroom - For those of you who don't know, you mostly eat Indian food with your hands, and it's nice to not have to go to the bathroom whenever you need to wash your hands. Since our first meal, we've now been there three more times. I also recently ordered food in trays for a party - malai kofta, gobi manchurian, daal makhani, and samosas. The price was reasonable and the food was excellent.

Poor Service!! asked for extra chutney and the waiters were rude and said they can't. When you pay 10 times the amount you pay in india . Is it too much to expect the same in quality and service ?!! Will never visit this place again.

I love Indian food and this is a great place to eat if your a vegetarian and I'm not but the chow was great!! I had the buffet and it was excellent and fresh food with lots of selections.

A cornucopia of Indian sweet and savory pastries. If you don't have an extensive background in Indian cooking, you will be lost here in a good way. They also serve actual food as in for dinner.

Ordinary affair. The food is really greasy. But if you're a vegetarian, this is probably the only restaurant in the area that offers an all vegetarian buffet for a reasonable price of $9.99.

Almost all of the food items are mighty tasteless to destroy the taste buds as they are prepared by dish washers who pretend to be cooks. These so called cooks stay employed at this restaurant just long enough to piss off constantly dwindling customer base resulting in bleak outlook for this business. The owner seems to live in the La La land completely oblivious of his surroundings vis- a- vis guest demands, special occasions, competition. THE BEST ITEM HERE IS A GLASS OF WATER

Service here is usually slow. Food is delicious. I have yet to have bad food here. The type that is definitely unhealthy but makes you feel so good. It can take a while to get your food so I wouldn't recommend coming in for dinner or on the weekend unless your craving some fast food desi. Though, I have never tried it, I stay away from their buffet. It's kept out all day and does not seem fresh at all. I love to get their sweets, mango lassi, and to order food. Definitely recommend!

I won't be eating here again unless they improve their buffet. The chana masala was left out in the open, uncovered and was drying out. Didn't look very appetizing. I had to tell them they were out of naan and dosa. It was obvious nobody was monitoring the food. Also the dosa was nothing like it was the last time I ate here. It was really soft and the portion size was tiny. The food here has a homemade taste compared to Saffron but they need to do a better job at keeping the food fresh. I ate here with my parents, and my dad (Hector G.) gave the prior review...which for some unknown reason was filtered. But anyway, he was being too generous with his comments; the food wasn't very fresh at all. I still haven't tried Jai-Ho yet. Hopefully they'll be better.

I am a student at USF and often visit this South Indian joint but have realized that the quality has gone downhill over the past couple of years. I used to get the buffet all the time but nowadays it is mediocre at best. The food in the buffet is cold and stale, not so good when I really go there for the dosa. If you end up visiting Royal Sweets please take a look at the menu and order off of that, the food comes fresh and is quite delightful. I personally enjoy the mysori masala dosa and chaat. In addition to the food they have a vast array of indian sweets which are amazing. Caution .. don't over do it or else you will get a stomach ache. Great place, but I don't think I would go for the buffet again.

I moved to Tampa in Jan 2014, and coming from a place in NJ that had a few streets alone dedicated to Indian food, my husband (who is from india) and I needed to find a good indian food place. It was good in the beginning...not the best but ok. Now i will not even step foot in there, the buffet is always cold, the bread not fresh and no masala comes with the dosa in buffet either. I love the ladies there but I cannot take the food. even though the sweets are decent i will never go there again. :-/

I love their chole bhature and kachori. sweets are decent too. Never tried the buffet so cant vouch for that. But if you crave north indian fast food you have found your place!!1 I didnt think the dosa was as good though.

Ordered halwa poori and the poori was so thick and half cooked. will not order this item in particular. Usually we have Mysore masala dosa but if you go on a weekday it's crapy, the masala applied to dosa was not the same we used to get on weekends and it was having a weird smell. After these 2 experiences and poor service we are going to stop going there.

Ordered kalakand and the stomach begged for mercy. Sign language seems to be the only possible way to indicate the lady in the counter to tell her what I wanted. Buffet is good only on weekends.

i came here randomly one day. i was very impressed with how big and clean this place looked - almost reminded me of tahoora in chicago. anyhow, i ordered a few things: - jilebis: not good (super super sweet); i heard their jilebis are good and fresh, but unfortunately, it was not the case for me - paneer pakoda: was ok, but totally ripped off..... they only gave me 4 pieces and it was $4... not getting it again - falooda: nastiest falooda i've had in my life..... there was this amazing place in ATL called agha juice and they set the bar really high. this place's falooda can't even get the rose milk part right. AVOID IT! - ras malai: good, but the milk was super sweet as well; i like nuts in my ras malai and sadly there weren't any =( - paneer pakoda chaat: good, but crazy spicy and covered with onions; now i like onions, but this was overboard. my nose was running like crazy and my nose ring popped out; i will order this again, but emphasize less onions and spicyness (i'm a disgrace to desis, i know)

I was going to the bank and discovered Royal Sweets. When I used to live in Michigan a Royal Sweets opened near our home and then due to the success it opened three locations in the area. I was so surprised to see it in Tampa. I talked to the owner and it is the same chain and the same wonderful street food from Indian and elsewhere. The restaurant is huge!!!!!!! It looks clean and they have a massive 100% vegetarian buffet for 9.99 per person. I went for my staple samosa chat and was in instant heaven. For 3.99 you get so much and it is delicious. My only qualm was the amount of grease. I almost went into a food coma after eating it. They have an extensive menu with snacks left and right and a whole juice or drinks bar. From the location, I know that the place is going to be jam-packed with families over the weekend. Go try it out now before everyone else gets wind of it.
