So I must admit that I have not eaten at a Qdoba since my days in college when I lived in Tallahassee. And in comparison to the other tex mex places, I did not think it was very good in comparison. In fact prior to this visit, I would have told you it was disgusting. I was motivated to revisit Qdoba because of their holiday promotion. In exchange for a $10 toy for their Toys for Tots donation drive, I received a free entrée. I was very undecided on what to choose because they have several options in which to choose including burritos, tacos, bowls and salads. They also have something unique, its called Mexican gumbo. I was unsure what it was so one of the staff members allowed me to taste a sample. It's a mix between a rice bowl and the tortilla soup with the meat of your choice. It was a bit spicy but I liked it. It was a little chilly the night of my visit so this warm soupy bowl was perfect. I added a little sour cream to cool the heat a bit and it was delicious. This visit may have ... no it did change my opinion about this food chain. I am glad I read the tips and tried this entrée. Plus I love an establishment that cares about giving back. If you haven't try the Mexican gumbo next time you visit.

Great place, tasty food and management/staff always friendly. . . Love the queso, burrito, tortilla soups, the mango salsa worth every bite!!

It seems the experiences here can vary, but I had one that wasn't too bad. I had the naked salad bowl and I went with steak and the mole version. The bowl was a little small for the price, but acceptable. The food was really good. The mole sauce was surprisingly good and the steak was very tender. The downside was that the employees all seemed to be new, or just completely untrained. The three people up front didn't know what was on the menu, or in the items, so they had to keep looking at the board in order to add the correct ingredients. When it came to check out their computer system was down, which I don't fault them for, but they weren't sure how to even sum anything up. They had to call the manager from the back a couple times to ask about what to charge. They were all friendly though and with the food being pretty good, I'll definitely be back.

Customer service was just okay. My food was very bland, not very flavorful at all. It definitely didn't satisfy my craving.

I'm not at all impressed with the service here. Not sure why the attitudes are so poor, I do have a strong Feeling that it has to do with the manager. She seems to have a poor attitude every time I go there to get my guacamole. I think I will have to go somewhere else for my cravings!

Customer service sucked! Another customer asked for an exchange and got a dirty look. America is FAT because restaurant policies like these!!! Free rice, but they charge for veggies!!! No military discount. When I asked, it was like I cursed about their mom. Chipotle is much better. The service was mediocre. I was disappointed. Won't be back. Chipotle it is.

Stopped in here solely for their queso and chips awhile back and vowed to return and try a few other things. (Their queso was pretty good by the way) Today, I came in and admitted to the employees how I was a new customer and wanted to sample different items. A very patient and professional manager explained everything to me and answered a lot of questions. Choosing two smaller items instead of one for the same price, I absolutely loved the Mexican Gumbo. The whole combination of beans, rice, tortilla soup and my choice of the grilled chicken was superb. Meanwhile, my taco salad was just average and I wasn't happy with the shredded beef that I chose for that combination. (Next time, I'll put their quesadilla with the Mexican Gumbo and I think I'll have a winning combo) Also went with a full order of their guacamole to try with some of their chips and thought it was good, but just did not get enough of it. Unlike the previous order of queso, which was plenty for just $1 more than the guac. While I took my food home to enjoy, the store was very clean and without any chaos. Also, the presentation of all the fresh meats, veggies, salsas and ingredients looked a lot better than my recent trip to a local Moe's. Just realized that this storefront used to be part of a Hollywood Video location that I used to rent movies at when I lived just south of Gandy. I still remember renting The Day After Tomorrow as the last actual movie I ever rented in a "video store" and telling a fellow customer when I returned it that I'd rather be part of the world ending than sit through that lousy movie ever again.

I hate giving this kind of review since my hubby and I have been here more than once and really enjoy the food. However, that is the ONLY reason we have returned. We have yet to have a pleasant or happy employee here. For some reason, every one seems to be on their last nerve, with the intimation that you might be the one to push them to snap. Tonight was my final point of contention. Our server barely acknowledged us, and slammed our food around like we were an irritant to her. My husband and I both are happy people and tonight was no exception. There is never a reason to treat someone as an annoyance. I work in the customer service field- and this is a constant issue at this Qdoba.

Used to go biweekly.. Lately its not been the same.. I used to get the hookups and the special treatment... They do give military discounts -- I think free drinks.. Seems like someone is trying to bad mouth them.. Get the naked burrito.. That being said -- the up charges are silly.. no chips... sort of sucks..

Wanted to try something new and This place sucks. Complete rip off of chipotle (which is about 100 times better). No flavor, black beans were dried out, fajita veggies had a strange flavor. Only decent thing here was chips and queso, which was $4! I won't be back. Stick with Chipotle!

Their food is my least favorite out if the the 3 big chains. No flavor, no spices, and everything that actually has flavor is " a little extra." I'd rather take an extra 5 minutes and go to Moe's. The only good news is it's usually not busy, so I must not be the only one that feels this way.

Qdoba is my go-to spot for lunch when I'm looking for a hot, satisfying, quick lunch. I was so thrilled when they opened this location in near me as I was a fan of theirs when I was going to grad school in Bloomington. If you are familiar with Chipotle, know that it's very similar to that. You can customize a burrito or taco with a variety of proteins, beans and toppings. I do really prefer the flavor of the Qdoba Chicken. Plus, Qdoba is great with with coupons & specials - something the other chain hardly ever has. You can choose your entree sans the tortilla and ask for it "Naked." I usually go with a chicken burrito, my daughter prefers the steak quesadilla. They are very generous with the toppings and let me get two or three of the salsas if I want. The guacamole is delicious, and they make it fresh daily in the store. Staff is always pleasant and quick - I've never had an issue. The rewards card is a nice feature - I often get coupons in email for free chips and the occasional buy one get one burrito. The free burritos add up quickly. Yum!

I can't decide if I'm relieved that there's a decent burrito place by me, or if I'm sad that the best Mexican food I've had in south Tampa is from a chain restaurant. I will complain momentarily that the person who rolled the burritos for us didn't do a great job, so they fell apart while we were eating. It is annoying to have all the juices on my hands and dripping into the tray, and an experienced burrito-maker would know how to keep my hands dry. But otherwise, I felt that the food was well-seasoned and fresh. Burritos are wrapped on the spot, so it's super fast to come here too. The location is a little funky, but lucky for us, it's on a corner that is easy for us based on where we live. I think people coming from other directions probably have to do a U turn or two to get in or out of the parking lot.

So the food is pretty much standard across the board since this is a chain, and it works when I have a Qdoba/Moes/Chipotle craving. However, this location in particular bothers me because of an employee (the manager it seems) who is occasionally on the burrito line. I *always* feel rushed whenever ingredients are being added to my burrito...with every mention of an addition, it is immediately "is that it???" with her hands motioning towards wrapping the burrito up. Please. Slow. Down. Treat me like a customer and not as just another transaction coming through the (empty) line.

Very bad experience here. Wouldn't take my order over the phone. When I arrived, staff was disorganized and rude ... the person who seemed to be leading the charge was also rude (customer services starts at the top!). If you're in the mood for fast-ish mexican, go to Chipotle! Service is better, prices are lower.

Truth be told, I don't really go to burrito places often...OK...ever. I also very rarely go to chains. That said, I flew in to Tampa last night and this is where I had dinner with my sister and her family. Me being me, I was indecisive. I decided to go with a 'naked' burrito bowl. I really didn't study the menu nor have I been here before so, I was a little confused when I ordered a veggie burrito bowl and was told that it doesn't come with the zucchini and squash but only the fajita veggies. In all honesty, it seems a little expensive for a bowl of rice, beans and veggies to be covered with salsa (their habanero *extra hot* wasn't very hot) and cheese for $7 give or take. This is one of those instances when living in Texas has truly spoiled me for anything remotely "Mexican". Who i'm assuming was the manager was nice enough albeit somewhat condescending when I pointed out my confusion and it being my first time, I'm also sure she meant no harm. I just shrugged it off and said 'whatever' and I really didn't care. Also, their salsa tasted like marinara sauce.

I pulled up to this place and literally thought it was closed (5pm on a Sunday). After further investigation I saw movement inside and went in to investigate... I think I might have hit Qdoba towards the end of the day. I think the guac is supposed to be a different color which is why I didn't request any. The burrito I ordered "naked" and that means the same as a bowl in Qdoba-ese. I'm pretty sure that the naked burrito here offers you less food than the burrito bowl @ Chipotle, but it was still quite good. The amount of chips you get at Qdoba is a lot. They fill up a whole bowl for you. The chips were very fresh and this was late in the day. That's not always the case as I've found at most burrito places. Yes, I might go back to this Qdoba to eat again, but not for a long time. The location of this place is a prime location, but due to the intersection it is difficult to navigate into the place.

Holding out valiantly against the Chipotle onslaught. Chipotle will never have queso or mole (moh-leh) inspired bbq sauces. Which is why Qdoba will still be a viable alternative for me in a land barren of anything resembling mexican food.

This place is on my list of quick and delicious stops. Even though it's a Mexican place you can get a healthly meal by going with the Naked Taco Salad. No need for the tortilla and their mild salsa is fresh and tasty. The prices are pretty comprable to other quick burrito stands and they've always been fast and friendly when I visit.

One of my fOne of my favorite places to go for lunch, I am not a fan of chain restaurants but you always get what is expected when going to Qdobe. The service at this particular restaurant is always good. No matter how long the line it always seems to move fast, which is good from a place where the customer builds their own meal.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
