Me and this restaurant = a love/hate relationship. The reason I say this is because I am Nicaraguan and have NO choice but to go here when I am craving food from my country and its neighbors. Lol. But GOD!!!! The service is soooooooooooooooooo damn HORRIBLE!!!!! Let me clarify. I have came here OFTEN and the two different waitresses I have had are sweethearts! The food has been DELICIOUS! The smell of the restaurant is hit and miss....sometimes it smells normal and sometimes it literally smells like sewer but because the food is so good, I put up with it :/ My hate relationship comes from the owner/cashier who sits in the front, the little, short lady. My BF once ordered the Passion Fruit juice, I swear he took a sip and did not like it. We mentioned this to our waitress and she took the drink back and replaced it with soda....fine! She comes back with our check shortly after and to my surprise the juice is on there?! I ask her why is the juice on there if he literally took a sip, she said that the owner was not willing to remove the drink because it is a "homemade juice" and it COST HER to make the juice. Long story short..after much refusal on my part to not pay for the juice because HE TOOK A SIP she (the owner) finally removed it. LOL! I couldn't believe it. Second horrible experience, I ordered some plate that had "Platanos Maduros" instead I requested for "Tajadas/Mariquitas" there was no problem or mention of an extra charge from my waitress....The check comes and I see I am being charged extra for the Tajadas. I had ordered this same plate before with Tajadas and was not charged extra so I let my waitress know that this is an issue since I was not made aware of the extra charge (which I would have payed regardless but that is not the point but because of my previous bad experience I make sure to nickel and dime them back). Once again, I go to the owner and let her know that if I'm going to be charged extra for substituting something (which is normally the case everywhere else) then let me know while I'm ordering, if I have to pay for the Platanos Maduros then please be sure to put them in a TO-GO box. Lol. The owner took $1 off my ticket and did not want to give me the maduros. Lol. I haven't been back since. Obviously this is no Outback (that makes sure you're satisfied) but make sure you're not being ripped off for petty shit. This is where Spanish restaurants lose, they don't understand how to run a business.

Love LOVE LOVED this place! Excellent pupusas and great menu selection. I speak little Spanish and found the service to be great in fact the workers were SO welcoming. The older lady who appeared to be in charge though my attempt at Spanish was cute.

Oh My f'ing god. I had pupeseria's in new york before but i didn't appreciate them. This time i ordered the $7.45 deluxe breakfast with a side pupusa (pork with cheese). When they brought me the plate of breakfast, it was exactly what I was imagining. It was divided into five parts: 1) perfectly done fried eggs (not too runny, not too dry) 2) refried beans in the middle 3) Sour cream in the corner 4) a yummy chunk of cheese and 5) a nice, scrumptious piece of steak. I also ordered the mexican horchata. They could see that I was stuck, so they brought me a sample of both. The El Salvadorean horchata has tamarind in it and its probably an acquired taste. So I dug into breakfast and about half way through, I got the pupusa with cabbage and red sauce. I dumped it onto the big plate. I finished every last living piece of food on that plate. They also brought out two yummy round flat bread, that was perfect to bring down the temperature in my mouth, since I put so much of the hot sauce on it. I love working up a sweat for breakfast. The endorphins (along with a long, morning jog) just puts me in a good mood all day. Service was excellent. They couldn't be nicer. I always feel weird being a gringo, but they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I would eat there every day if I could.
