Around 1am on a Sunday morning was our first and probably last visit to Pita Pit. We basically only came here because our options were here or Taco Bus. We are not fans of Taco Bus, so we popped in here. I don't expect great service at 1am....but what we received was just ridiculous. They weren't even that busy. There were only a few costumers and about the same amount of employees. My Husband ordered two gyros and a drink. What we received was one gyro with double meat. Then they had to charge us separately for the drink because we didn't get that either. What the heck? The Gyro pita was almost $10 and was meh at best. We decided we were done with this place. We split our $12 "meal" and headed to Taco Bus. Really bad first impression Pita Pit.

I used to go to Pita Pit in college many moons ago when I lived in Indiana. In those days, I loved that place. This Pita Pit leaves a lot to be desired. There are so many other food options right in that area that I would just suggest going elsewhere. The service here is a hot mess. The chic that took my order also put my pita together. She had no idea what went inside the pita so she grabbed a menu... that had been on the counter... that had been touched by other customers. So her gloves were grody and just loving up on my pita with germs galore. She was entirely too concerned about flirting with her previous customer so serving me correctly was in the back of her mind. As such, she messed up my order and my friend's order. The actual food was decent enough to save them from a two star rating, but the B team they have working there, will keep me from ever going back there again.

I'm not a huge fan of pita pit in general because I never seems to get the combo of flavors right for my taste buds. My husband on the other hand loves it, perhaps because it's a relatively healthier option for eating out. The jalapeño ranch sauce is pretty good. This one, located downtown, is rarely busy. Every time I've been there no one else is in the store which getting our food very quick. The staff is friendly, a little sarcastic but more the less friendly. The soda machine is great with the plethora of flavors you can choose. The place is always clean. Not much to complain about. This one is even open late hours. If you like pita sandwiches this place is for you.

I've been to this location once. It was actually my first time ever at a Pita Pit. Staff: Friendly enough. It was chaotic in there, lunch rush and of course it would be packed. But they took the time to tell me about the ones I had questions about and helped me with the veggies in choosing. Environment: Well...lunch rush so I wouldn't expect anything different than. The typical. The random trash that someone left but no biggie, I picked it up. Again, lunch rush lol (I've worked at restaurants before so I get it). Location: Perfect for those who are working downtown or downtown for the day. A brisk walk and you're there. Parking sucks downtown so it's just better to park and stay parked. Food: Pita was really good! So I give a 2 thumbs up lol. Perfect lunch spot, hit it up!

I had the buffalo chicken pita with ranch and spinach. It was delicious and would refer this fast casual to all of my friends.

Look out Subway - here comes Pita Pit. I'm not even a big pita fan, but this format is wonderful. The online calorie app is very cool. I don't go downtown too often, but I have already told several friends who work downtown who never visited this restaurant. The BLT and Black Forest Ham were great.

I went to the new one in Riverview off 301 and big Ben for lunch and had a Gyro and the pit wasn't running so I was worried but it was great so I went back for dinner and had the chicken curry wrap which was also terrific I cannot wait to go back for the shwarma.....

This place was so good at lunch that I came back for dinner. The Dagwood Pita was really good. Nice staff also.

If you're from out of town, don't go here. You can find Pita Pits all over the place. If you're a local, though, you should give it a try. I don't usually like chains, but PP is an exception. All their locations have tasty and healthy food, and this place is no different. Imagine if Chipotle opened a pita chain: that's what Pita Pit feels like.

I'm glad more and more places are coming downtown. Just visited the downtown location this past weekend and it was great. Was expecting it to be somewhat empty, but with the market going on just outside, the place had a steady flow of traffic. Service was standard, food came out quick and was great. I like they have the Coke Freestyle (I think that's what it's called) machine as well. Lots of seating inside, and very clean.

In all honesty I've had better! First off if you don't serve soup anymore then take it off your menu. The salad was a mess, looks like everything was just thrown on there. Wish the gyro sauce was on the side and wish I had the option of a Greek dressing. Didn't have many option or selections but I thought why not give it a try. Probably won't return. Just FYI doorstep delivery has a Greek place that delivers and they are awesome.

Love this place!! The food is always good quality and the friendliness of the staff is always up to par! I also love that they have extended hours (late nights) as I work in the evenings often.

They opened up downtown a few months ago and I wish it didn't take this long for me to experience the awesomeness that is Pita Pit. I think my colleague and I have converted like half of the office into going here it's that good. Chicken Crave is the best, but the Chicken Souvlaki and Philly are my two other favs. The girlfriend loves the falafel, and I have to agree with her. So many things you can top your pita with, and pitas just take better than loads of bread. Give them a try!

Pita Pit is the jelly to my peanut butter. Almost like a subway but with pitas.......okay it is exactly like that. Only no $5 footlongs. That would be nice though. I've only had two things here and they are both delicious. I try to mix it up with their incredible selection of sauces and salsas. My husband and I both love it here as he can get whatever meaty pita he wants and there is something for me too. He loves the chicken pitas and sometimes he's veg up and get the falafal which makes this vegan's heart go pitter pat.:) Pro tip: If you check in here on Yelp, they give you a free cookie. Bam. Hummus Pita- They've got hummus which is my favorite food in the whole world and they smear a good layer on before adding whatever your heart desires and then fold it up into this magnificent burrito the size of a new born. Once a worker told me it was cheaper to just get the veggie pita and ask for hummus which they don't charge for and I was stoked but tried to order it again at another location and they looked at me like I was the cheapest consumer alive. I didn't try to do it again to save .50. Womp womp. Falafal- This fried cake of chick pea goodness is what dreams are made of. If you aren't vegan smother that business with taziki (?) sauce. You will have falafal scented dreams of this pita. So good and bit more substantial than the hummus pita.

ok, this place rocks. I come from California, where our supposed weather is like Greece and you would assume that most other places that serve gyro or the like are similar or better. This just isn't the case, the gyro is perfect. LITERALLY PERFECT, it's melting in with a perfect amount of feta cheese, yogurt, and gyro mixing in my mouth as I take savory bite after savory bite... I opted for double meat, for double awesome. If I had one complaint, it was that they stuffed the pita too full so it broke apart midway, bursting from the seams with meat and veggies. I got messy with my fingers to eat every last scrap that had fallen on the wrapping paper. My god, I thought. this is it. This is thing that will make me miss Tampa, because even Northern California (famous for it's amazing foodie places) has nothing on this place. Also, it's open till midnight, so you can grab a late bite long after pretty much every other place other than bars have closed. As if I didn't have enough to rave about this place, they allow you to customize your pita! I've never encountered a place that does that like Subway with pitas. It makes sense, but man, they totally delivered where everyone else had a missed opportunity! The only downside is the parking, which is not free (for the street) until 6pm. But if you can find street parking, it's usually pretty cheap, although the lot across the street is overkill if you're just parking to eat at this place. So I would ignore the parking lot across the street if at all possible, and park on the street.

Love this place because its always fast and fresh! I live in Seminole heights and wish there was a better place to grab a sandwich or pita. I love pita pit because you can get breakfast lunch or dinner pita at any time. I usually get the awaken with bacon catchy name and it always turn out amazing. They also have one of those coke 1000 flavor machines that I personally love mixing sodas up. The only complaint I have is the parking. If your going to be more that 5min you might want to pay at the 717 parking lot right across the street from the pita pit. I usually park there and walk over to the parks by the museum. Nice spot to enjoy your freshly made pita!

My go to happy place. The Chicken Souvlaki is delicious and I'm always very satisfied when I'm through eating my pita! I love that everything is fresh made right in front of you & they are always willing to oblige your wishes.

This place is amazing. I order from here about once a week as I work downtown. The staff is awesome and super friendly. If something happens to go wrong with your order (even if it's your mess up and not theirs), they do everything in their power to make it right. For a cheap, quick lunch, I am consistently impressed with the customer service. And of course the pitas themselves are delicious! Highly recommend the Gyro and Chicken Souvlaki.

I had the pleasure of grabbing a bite to eat yesterday at the Pita Pit in Tampa before my drive back home to Miami. The staff was friendly and spoke to me about the area and the different areas in Tampa since I will be coming back up on the weekends for the next couple weeks. The good was great. I had the Philly Cheesesteak, my wife had the buffalo chicken and her father ate the gyro. We were all pleased with the quality at a good price. They had a great healthy options as well. It was my first visit and definitely won't be my last. They also deliver and are opened late.

I fell in love with Pita Pit years ago when I first had it in Gainesville, but this Pita Pit was damn good. I walked in during lunch rush, but because the Florida theatre festival was there (the reason I was there as well) the lunch rush was a bunch of high schoolers cramming in to get their food. Even with the high volume of kids there ordering though, service was fast and efficient and the cooking of the food wasn't rushed that it jeopardized the taste or freshness. This Pita Pit can have my business anytime I go back and visit.

I'm not usually a fan of "Pita" places, but I must say they have great Pitas at a decent price and they deliver until 4am some nights. I work the night shift downtown and having a delivery service that late is a definite plus for me. I love their breakfast Pitas more than anything... I would recommend giving them a try.
