I'm not a big Pita Pit fan. They tend to over-stuff their pitas, making them very awkward to eat. Also, the meats don't seem to be as flavorful as some of the other Greek selections in the area. Pita Pit seems to be an attempt to Americanize Greek gyros, offering a healthy fast food option. Personally, I'd much rather eat an authentic gyro than a collision of cultural foods. That's just my opinion, however - many of my friends love the Pita Pit chain. So, don't let my review deter you... try it out and challenge my review :)

Its like subway for pitas, I like it but not my favorite fast food but good food for the money none the less. A big plus is you can order you pita anyway you want and watch as they make it. The staff is very attentive on making the pita the way you like not their way. I eat here maybe once a month.

I rarely ever have better service than I have whenever I come to this place. Seriously. There is usually only one or two people working at any given time, and every employee I have ever encountered has been extremely warm and welcoming while taking as much pride a person possibly can whilst constructing my delicious pita. I usually get the chicken crave and add a bunch of stuff to it and it never disappoints. Thanks for being there for me Pita Pit.

It's a standard pita pit for food, but service was fantastic. Very friendly staff. Thanks.

So one disclaimer: I usually LOVE Pita Pit. Seriously, this is one of my favorite places for a casual bite. If you are coming here for cultural food, this is not the place for you. There are a variety of choices some healthy, some not so healthy; the black bean with some added hummus is my personal new favorite! That said, this particular franchise location seems to be on the lower side of the quality I have come to expect from the brand. Compared to the South Howard location this one just doesn't come close. The eatery itself is much smaller and feels more like one of their competitors. On my most recent visit I saw the establishment understaffed and ill supplied (no wheat Pitas.) We waited a significant amount of time for what typically takes 5 minutes, even with a rush. They left off a key ingredient for my Pita (hard to have a Hawaiian with no pineapple.) With some proper training for the staff I am sure improvements could be made, and maybe with a larger, or more efficient use of the grill more Pitas could be cooked at the same time. I will continue to support the Pita Pit brand, but I am likely going to avoid this location.

I love Pita Pit! I have been a fan of this place since back in 2006. It's almost like a subway for wraps, as they make it in front of you. Its quick, the meat is usually seasoned pretty good, it's convenient (It's open pretty late), etc. I used to always get a chicken pita, but this time, I tried their gyro and it was pretty good. It wasn't as good as it would have been from a greek restaurant, but it was still pleasing to my taste buds! If I find myself in a pinch for time, and I am in the area, and hungry... I'd definitely make a pit stop to pita pit!!!

Chain food mediocrity. Yes, the food is pretty good... but there are 200+ other Pita Pits serving the exact food. Yeah, I confess--I'm a restaurant snob. Frankly the food just doesn't taste as good if I know thousands of other people are enjoying it. Sorry. You can hate me. Go ahead. I'll continue enjoying wonderful local flavors. Sorry for the rant. I don't usually review big chains, but the Pita Pit actually does have decent food. I like one of the local choices at this Pita Pit--the spicy buffalo chicken pita with ranch. The guys who work here are helpful and efficient. However, as Blake B alluded to in his review, there are some excellent local alternatives.

I've never had a bad pita here. I usually get a chicken pita with grilled mushrooms, grilled pineapple, and teriyaki sauce. Delicious. I've tried their tuna - not good at all. Last visit I tried their falafel. So yummy. They stuffed that pita with double original hummus, lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, cucumbers, and tzatziki "sauce" (not really a sauce, more like a spread). They don't have tahini sauce which I like on my falafels. I was afraid the pita would be dry without some real sauce. But it wasn't. So tasty and fresh. One of my little complaints with this place is that they don't have side items. Some potato salad or side salad or hummus with pitas... something other than a bag of chips. Don't get me wrong, I usually can't finish the pita anyway - too full - but it would still be nice to have something with the pita. But a HUGE complaint is they don't have highchairs!!! When asked how they don't have at least one, the workers (who are usually very nice) just shrugged and said they had one years ago but it broke. End of story. No apologies. I guess the majority of their business is the college crowd, but to snub your nose at families with young children is inexcusable. If it wasn't for the recent Groupon, I would have written them off forever. I shouldn't have to get a babysitter to get a bite to eat here!
