Was down on Pita Pit, but as my diet progresses I enjoy the chicken crave and philly cheese. The calorie intake is perfect and I just call in and order pick up if I'm busy. The delivery hours remain top tier as a light night craving, but in general I am a fan of pita pit!

How does this place have high reviews? Is it friends of the staff or just that standards are low in a young bar area? There was trash everywhere outside, the bathrooms were very dirty and the men's room did not have a lock for the door. One of the entrance doors did not automatically close and there were flies everywhere at our table and in the food preparation area. Service was friendly but there was very little meat on the sandwiches and it was quite dry. I asked and was told that the gyros was not from a can but yet when it came out the four thin slices were perfect rectangles. I would not go back, there appears to be a wrap place across the street that looks much nicer.

My friend came to visit me from Miami, and we stopped here for a late-night meal. This place is on the busiest street ever, and it's swarming with drunk people. My friend and I were actually sober, and we politely greeted the cashier when it was our turn to order. But my friend asked a forbidden question: "do you have any jalapeño chips?" Apparently, they did, but "in the back." The cashier made a super rude comment about how she had to go find his chips while there was a long line of people waiting. When she came back, I told her I didn't appreciate her attitude, she replied with, "I don't really care!" The other employees who were making our pitas were justifying her behavior by saying she was overwhelmed and that we had never worked in the service industry, so we wouldn't understand (meanwhile, my friend has worked at Arby's, at a pizza place, and as a bartender; I think he would understand, and that's why people shouldn't make comments if they don't know what they're talking about). Pitas were okay, but the employees' attitude really killed it for us. Being "overwhelmed" shouldn't be an excuse to treat people poorly.

The freshest and healthiest Hangover prevention after a long night of happy hours in Soho! The lines are usually not too bad unless it's after 12 midnight. You have to walk up and place your order. There is no table service or alcohol. I usually pick every veggie available to fatten my baby pita up! I highly recommend the lamb gyro, chicken souvlaki, Philly cheese, chicken Caesar. All the pitas go for $6.45 with the exception of Monday's when students and military can get $5 pitas or 3-5pm every day pitas are also $5 but who eats then? I haven't tried the prime rib or bufallo chicken pita yet but those sound good as well. There are 5 vegetarian pitas and 5 breakfast pitas but I haven't tried any of those either. As with most places in South Tampa, the parking lot is pretty limited with only 4-5 spaces and the parking lot does get flooded. If the parking lot is full, the surrounding area has only residential parking so you'll have to valet at Macdintons or park on Horatio 3-4 blocks away. Don't forget to get your free cookie for checking in on yelp! :)

The staff at this Pita Pit location is quick and friendly. They work in an assembly line to make your wrap or pita. I don't eat meat but there are ways to make a pita that tastes good and is filling. I always order the breakfast omelet pita. It had breakfast potatoes, spinach, eggs, and any toppings you want to add. I recommend tomatoes and mushrooms anddd sour cream! It adds a nice touch to it! They serve breakfast all day. Expect a long line anytime after 7 because of the soho drunks. It's a go-to spot go many leaving dollar beers or happy hour! Prices are about 7/8 $. Delivery is always fast too, so if you want to avoid fighting over a parking spot or the drunk crowd, call in your order! Enjoy! Xo

Went last night for a quick dinner and was happy to find out Mondays are Student ID $5 pitas with fountain drink. Pita pit is a quick way to get a healthy and filling meal on the go. I love the variety of options and that they are all about customization. Bonus, I checked in and got a gooey chocolate chip cookie. Good, not above average, dining experience for a quick lunch or dinner.

This place is good for a quick lunch. I really like their steak pitas, they taste pretty good and you can add lots of fresh ingredients. The staff is nice and the location is good.

Great go-to place when walking around SOHO. They have a huge menu and friendly staff. The prime rib pita with honey mustard is ridiculously good. I love grabbing a pita here and walking over to World of Beer where they let you eat it there.

This is a great alternative to fast food including subway. This location is better than downtown because they cook your food real time on the grill and then make your pita in a line (subway or chipolte style). I use to love the chicken Caesar pita (grilled chicken and veggies and usually Caesar dressing but I prefer their taziki) but recently they switched suppliers of bacon and instead of strips it's bacon bits and not nearly as good. The gyro meat is excellent and love love the taziki sauce! It's good on the pita and to dip your chips into. Plus they offer otis spunkmeyer cookies! Generally the tables are not the cleanest but always good to go. If your afraid of making a mess you can get an open pita (salad with fork). Best way to eat the pita is to leave the wax wrapper on and peel half off, keeps it together and from ingredients falling out.

I found myself in a hotel in downtown Tampa at 9:15 p.m. The hotel restaurant closed early. I did not know the neighborhood well enough to walk to a cafe. I found that Pita Pit was open until 4 a.m. Its website offered me an easy-to-follow menu. It offered a calorie counter to let me calculate the nutritional value. I called Pita Pit, and an upbeat phone attendant took my order swiftly. I was promised my food within a half an hour, but it arrived in 15 to 20 minutes. The fellow who brought the food was professional and polite. The food was great--just what i ordered. It was reasonably priced and healthy. I had eaten at Pita Pit outlets in other cities, and enjoyed them. But tonight the Pita Pit on Howard in Tampa really came through for me.

Touting fresh ingredients with a Mediterranean feel this little shop in the heart of Soho offers a sweet check in deal for a free cookie, and honors it, too. I think they're doing something right to have been able to survive in Soho without selling beer, and having set up shop right across the street from a Chipoltle who does serve beer. They also deliver to the residents nearby, which is a great plus. It's simple, it's fresh, but it's not something I wouldn't be able to get locally..

I have to say its pretty good. Huge portions and they wrap it like a burrito. You can't really complain since it any way you want - its the subway of pitas!

Thanks for the delivery. It was perfect. After a late night out and forgetting to eat my fiance and I came home signed up on my phone and ordered Pita Pit in 5 minutes it was awesome the delivery took about 30 minutes but I am outside of the Soho area. no complaints everything was fresh and my complicated order was flawless. you can get breakfast at night without driving anywhere. I'm so glad I live in the delivery sphere!

Honestly, I only popped in here late evening because I was absolutely crushed when I went to open the door to Meaner Wiener and discovered that it no longer existed. Even the employees in The Pita Pit expressed disappointment when I asked what happened to Meaner Wiener and admitted they were regulars over there. So instead of the best Chicago Italian Beef Sandwich in Tampa, I decided to cut my losses and at least take something home from The Pita Pit rather than stop anywhere else on the way home for the night. My philly steak pita was made quick, all the ingredients looked and tasted very fresh and all the employees were extremely nice. While it will not be a destination like Meaner Wiener, I won't hesitate to return to The Pita Pit when in SoHo again and needing a quick bite for lunch or late night.

This is a neighborhood fave. Don't expect anything fancy its a sandwich shop. But don't get it twisted its no Subway though. I like the variety of options provided in the pitas they offer. The pitas are always made hot and fresh when ordered. I have always enjoyed my food from here and they are open late too which I love as a late night fast food alternative. The service here is not always exceptional but I can excuse that for a good quick bite. They also have happy hour now during the week from 3-5 which gets you any pita for $5. Students get the same deal on Mondays with ID.

Ok...food is good. Who doesn't love pitas?! The customer service? It's OK. I say this because staff isn't overly friendly but yet not rude. Now the girl who made my pita was nice. I don't really have any complaints, it's just they could put their game face on a little better, that's all. The environment? Hahahahaha!!! This is where I scratch my head. Now, this location in particular is on South Howard. Busy location-not the restaurant itself per se but the actual location. I really don't know if this place gets busy. The few times I've been there it was dead, though I didn't go during lunch rush. The actual environment though has me wondering why they don't keep up with it. Meaning there are areas of paint that's chipped off of the wall and the tables could've been wiped better but then again, I went around 1, so it could've been packed a hour prior to that that made it seem "not wiped down well." Now, with that being said, there seems to be ample seating. Parking, not so much but who are we kidding, anywhere in South Tampa, parking is skimp, so that's not their fault. Overall, I will still continue to go here. Food is good, it's close to work, and hasn't been packed so I can't complain!

The jalapeño dressing at pita pit should rot in a fiery inferno of hell for the rest of eternity..other than that I love this place

Besides their crappy food, this place will also have your car towed from their completely empty parking lot at noon on a Saturday in the 30 minutes it takes you to go across the street and grab a salad. Not cool Pita Pit. 10pm on Friday night I could understand, but noon on Saturday? Really?

First time ordering from a pita pit, delivery bc I was hungry at work. It was bigger than I expected (a bonus), they followed my instructions, were on time, and it was very delicious - I felt a lot better than I do after ordering my usual pizza. Tomatoes were in season and plentiful, what more could I ask for? Plus the delivery girl was friendly (& cute)

Never been to a Pita Pit before, but I'm a fan now. I was looking for a quick and healthy lunch and this place hit the spot. Fresh ingredients and very flavorful. I had the dagwood wrap with some veggies and feta cheese. No need for dressing, it was moist. It was under 500 calories and was big enough to share. If I have a complaint it would be that it was high in sodium, but what the hell you only live once. If I lived in SoHo, I'd be a regular. look forward to returning.

I'd never been to a Pita Pit before this visit and being completely honest, I wasn't really heading here when I got in the car. However, apparently I was so hungry I'd lost basic reading comprehension skills since I'd failed to notice that my intended destination wasn't open on Mondays. So, with my tummy rumbling, I gave Pita Pit a shot. I was a little confused about their process but the staff was super helpful. I went with the hummus pita, just as described on the menu with lettuce, tomato, onion, feta and a generous smear of tzatziki. I also redeemed the Yelp check in offer for a free cookie. The pita was very good, fresh tasting and light. The chocolate chip cookie was the perfect size and tasted great. Well done, Pita Pit. You all are on my radar now.

Seriously, this place never disappoints me. Buffalo Chicken, Souvalki, & even the breakfast pitas are pretty delish and as an added bonus...they offer Groupons/Living Social deals. Since I'm a regular, I snap those up pretty quickly. OH! And now Pita Pit has an app to place/customize orders. You can pick up, deliver, pay through the app, etc. It's AWESOME. Love love love.

Great place to grab a bit before going out or if you're just in the area. Their ingredients are fresh and the service is fast. I especially like that they have fun local-themed sandwiches and specials. Don't forget to get your rewards card!

I'm going to admit right now, to having driven all the way from Wesley Chapel to get my Pita Pit fix (yeah I know I passed the one on Fowler but this one is way better) and take it over to Curtis Hixon Park to walk around. Yes, this is a chain (think Subway but with pitas, and fresh healthy ingredients instead of the typical crap) but they must be franchised because each location is very different. This location is open super late. I've ended my partying here on several occasions. And on other occasions I've started my partying here. In any event, PIta Pit is in the equation when I take a trip downtown. They also deliver to those in the area, and judging by how quick the guy hops in that buggy and returns, it must be pretty speedy delivery. The food...my favorites are the chicken tzatziki and then black bean. Both are delicious. They have toppings ranging from hummus, spinach, feta cheese, your typical veggie toppings, and then tons of sauces, even tzatziki sauce. Definitely give it a try. It's basically a fast food joint, though, so don't expect any bells or whistles or special ambiance. The location kicks arse, and they are quick and efficient and deliver a great product. Looking forward to trying out their new downtown Tampa location to see if it compares to the Hyde Park location.

I like the fact that this place is open late. I've been wanting to try it for a while because it's a favorite of my chica's sister. Well, finally I was in the area and feeling a little munchie after attending the Yelp Thunder & Lightning event, so I said to myself, "Self, why the hell not?" I ordered up a chicken souvlaki pita wrap, had them throw some Caesar dressing, tomatoes, olives, feta, and tzatziki sauce in it, and BAM! Very flavorful and definitely Mediterranean-tasting. No real complaints other than the fact that the chicken seemed like pre-grilled, packaged chicken, like the kind you buy in the grocery store near the deli meats. Regardless, it was still pretty good. Also, if you live close by, they do delivery, so that's pretty rad. I would probably order from there a lot if I lived in HP, but I won't go out of my way to return, especially when that Meaner Weiner place is getting ready to open up next door :) Bonus: Free cookie with a Yelp check in.

This place is great. Not only do do the ingredients taste fresh, but Pita Pit delivers until about 4AM most nights. I've only tried the vegetarian options on the menu, but everything I've gotten has always been great tasting and customized to my liking. The staff and delivery people have been friendly each time and I'm never disappointed with my food. Would recommend to others and I really appreciate the healthy alternative for late-night food.

The Pita Pit fills all of my lunchtime requirements: close to my office, cheap, quick, and relatively healthy. The Pita Pit is set up very similar to a Subway. Order your food at the front counter and pay. While the meat cooks another employee has you choose the vegetable, cheese, and sauce toppings from the salad bar that you want on your wrap. Today I tried the Chicken Souvlaki Pita and it was fantastic! A white flour pita with grilled chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers, pepperocinis, cucumbers, feta and tzatziki sauce only ran me 451 calories! (Nutrition calculator: pitapitusa.com/build_a_p… ) Even better: my pita and a bottled water were only $8.60. The long hours, online ordering, and delivery service make the Pita Pit too convenient to resist. I'll definitely be back.

We needed someone who would bring us great food in the wee hours of the morning. Pita Pit were one of the viable options that were more on the cheaper side in the area and we had them deliver to us from grubhub.com . We actually ordered twice from the same Pita Pit -- once was flawlessly amazing (we're talking about the food and the curt delivery, it was 10 minutes earlier than expected and they called us letting us know they were at the door.) and the other.. well. Their delivery range was 3 miles and we were JUST 2.9. The second time around, we got a call back saying that we were 3.3 miles, just out of range and they weren't going to be able to deliver. Grubhub and The Pita Pit made sure that the money was refunded promptly and I was mildly disappointed but at 2 AM, I could've mistaken that disappointment for tiredness. It's okay Pita Pit, I still love you (and will be requesting another deliver soon)

Such a great establishment. I mean who doesnt love a good pita?! This place is pretty basic, you choose what meat and veggies/ toppings/ sauces you like in the pita. The chicken was really good and tender there. They wrap the pita in a cool way so that it never breaks and none of the insides fall out. They are pretty huge so you can easily save some for later. Its a good place for a quick bite.

It's a chain of course, and the food is pretty much the same as all the other locations. Great place for a quick healthy meal. This location is always clean and the staff is fast and very friendly.

My favorite Pita Pit location due to the excellent service! Malcolm and Pro are the best at taking orders and making you a pita you will definitely enjoy. It is a chain so the food seems to the same at each location but this service cannot be beat! Thanks Malcolm and Pro!!!

Pita Pit's slogan: " Healthy, comfort food to feed the young, drunkards in the SoHo district" Essentially, most of their business comes from the drunk patrons stumbling in after a night out around the bars and clubs of the SoHo district. What they serve here are pitas filled with a medley of Mediterranean goodness. What is even better is the healthiness of the pita meal in comparison to the usual drunkard's comfort food, which in order of popularity: Taco Bell, Second Taco Bell location if first is packed, McDonald's, and leftover cold pizza. So yes, Pita Pit is an excellent, healthy option. Even though, it gets packed in the twilight hours; the service is akin to an assembly line. Expect your pita prepped, cooked and in your mouth in no time. It is one of the best affordable, healthy, tasty, and late night options in the SoHo district.

So glad Pita Pit opened up downtown. It is very hard to find a combination of healthy food and quick service. Now we have that. I went in the first week they opened and they were still struggling a little with getting going, they didn't have any soup and they were still trying to decide if they were going to open for breakfast. But the place is clean and well organized, the staff is friendly, and the food is good. And they have the awesome Coke machine I love with 2000 flavors! I will be back...at least once a week!

Pretty much a Mediterranean Subway. So yeah it's a big ass chain, but pretty good healthy food that is open post-bar hours here in SoHo.

Good food, great location, good late night hours. Awesome alternative to late night drive through, burgers, and pizza. Only my 2nd time here and I will be back a lot more to try all of the deliciousness. Yeah, that's a word. Its open til 4am Tues-Sat and until midnight on Sun-Mon.

This is by far my favorite pita place. I love walking here after the gym, getting something I can feel good about when I'm too tired to cook, and splitting a special treat with my boyfriend (free cookie with Yelp checkin!). The people here are great and we always have great service. I've even had delivery a couple times, and it's still delicious and speedy. They also have breakfast pitas, but I have yet to try them. Someday I will! It's comfy, the people are nice, the food is great...couldn't ask for more!!!

Ever dreamed about starting a kabob joint while you were backpacking Europe? This is that the chain. Well, it is not as good as the juicy kabobs (pitas) that you get on the streets of London or Stockholm, but with one bite it can take you back to hostels and eating in parks. This new location in trendy SoHo Tampa is the best location yet.

  • Travis M.

Only 3 stars Luke? Obviously you were not as intoxicated as we were when we stumbled upon this little gem after boozing all night in SoHo. It was like a delicious, gyro filled oasis in a desert of cottonmouth and smoky bars. I don't know if it would get 4 stars as a sit down dinner, but with it's late hours its really found its niche market!
