Let me add to the good things said about Mr. Special. This is THE place for a breakfast sandwich, infinitely better than the fast food chains, yours is made to order right before your eyes....fresh....no pre-mades here. Very reasonable price. Awesome café con leche too! Go Now! You know you want to!

Denis & his family make the best breakfast and Cuban sandwiches in town. The cafe con leche is really the way it should be-steamed milk and strong coffee with the right amount of sugar. Prices are awesome and service is fast! Don't let MLK detour you-you can go straight down from Dale Mabry -it's finally open. Really enjoy Mr. Special.

This place is great! The owners' customer service is amazing! He really makes an effort to get to know people within the few minutes it takes to make your meal. I've gone in about 3 times and he already knows exactly what I order. The breakfast sandwiches are so amazing. It looks a little run down on the outside but don't let that fool you this place is awesome!

What a dump this place is, old with very little on the shelves. But it's always the dumps where you find a nice surprise. The surprise here is how good the Cuban sandwiches are, places that sell Cuban sandwiches in Tampa are plentiful so I can afford to be picky, the sandwiches here are tasty and worth getting. So don't be afraid to walk in here .

This store/restaurant looks like it would be a letdown. An old and friendly Korean lady made my sandwich and I didn't think it will be that great. However, after eating their Cuban and especially there breakfast sandwiches, you'll want to keep coming back.

Mt. Special is located on MLK Blvd. West of Lois and the Drivers license center. Yes, I agree it is a whole in the wall convince store that makes some food. A true mom & pop joint business. The breakfast sandwiches may be the talk of the town, but in my humble opinion, the Cuban is pedestrian & certain ally nothing special. The bread was good, with minimal cheese, the pork almost obsolete and no pickle. What kind of a Cuban sandwich is that, in a city like Tampa. It is a cheap lunch, and with all the bread quite filling, a true Cuban, it is not. I may try the breakfast sandwiches, if I happen to be in the area. I will never return for a cuban, where all the measly meat should be on half the sandwich & there is minimal pulled pork and no pickle. Sorry Tampa abounds with good & great Cuban sandwiches, we don't need to settle for less. What's a girl to do? Know what she's ordering and thoroughly enjoy it.
