Great place! Service was very good, clean also. The food was really tasty! We had the flautas margaritas and nachos especial and both were awesome!! Can't wait to come back.

This place was just OK. Despite the fact that I'm writing a review, this restaurant is nothing to write home about. I was spoiled in Atlanta with plenty of inexpensive, authentic Mexican restaurants and we're on the hunt to find our go-to place here in Tampa. Though I may return, Margaritas will not be earning this title. The salsa was fine, the chips were plentiful, and our entrees were good enough. Service was a little slow and spotty, but I think it was the price that turned me off the most. For what we ordered, $35 was too much to pay. But, if you need a Mexican food fix (as I often do) this place will do the trick.

In location easy going casual staff Don't expect More than a typical low key Mexican restaurant just because the location is awesome it's very typical. Cost is ~20-30% more than the service or food deserves but I come back regularly for the local. In the cool months on the patio is awesome.

Not that great but just ok. Carnitas were dry and overcooked, chips were bad, salad was good, fish tacos were good, coffee was cold. Service was not that great but not horrible. Nothing special about it and it was pretty empty on a Friday night which is a bad sign.

Came in on a Saturday night and we were able to get seated quickly. We were quickly moved to a bigger table when a few other showed up. The chips and salsa on the table were a bit bland. Our margaritas were out but we never received the water we requested. Our waiter seemed annoyed and was almost rushing us. Once the food was out, he seemed to want to rush us even more. My dish was okay, nothing to write home about. I was hoping for better tasting flautas. The frozen mango margarita tasted like a smoothie with almost no alcohol.

Great Mexican food on the Island. Love this place. They have a great outdoor patio and plenty of space to eat inside a well. The margaritas are huge and delicious. All their food is amazing. I've never had something there I didn't like.

Well, it started off great when we walked into live music playing to an post-happy hour crowd. Great guitarist BTW!! Then things went downhill from there; seated immediately, but 15mins until the waitress noticed us....another 15mins to get drinks (2 waters and 1 XX)....then another 15mins for the food. FOOD'S HERE - 2/3 orders were wrong and they were also luke-warm. Note to the restaurant: move the microwave from public view so we don't see you nuke our food (not kidding). Just saying. Music = 5 stars Atmosphere = 3 stars (cute little girl dancing to the guitar music was awesome) Service = 2 stars 1/3 food (mine) = 3 stars (Margarita Chimichanga) 2/3 food (not mine) = 1 star (x2) (2 almost warm enchiladas **though they ordered guacamole tacos**) Total = 2 stars (sorry). Bottom line, it wasn't crowded and this place was too small to have pre-arranged, microwave-ready meals. Also, getting a beer within the first 5mins would have been nice!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
