We have been absolutely delighted with our discovery of this fine....AUTHENTIC... Italian restaurant on the north side of town. We live in Odessa and previously drove all the way to South Tampa for true Italian food. Little did we know.....this gem of a restaurant was only 15 minutes away and has now become one of our favorite places to dine. The food and service have always been impeccable!!! It has an upscale feel and yet the owner makes you feel like family all at once. From the minute you are seated you feel as if you are whisked away to Italy...... soft bread, finely seasoned oil for dipping, and bruschetta are brought to your table...... preparing your taste buds for the generous choices on the menu. A fine selection of wine is also available.... the owner is great about helping us choose one that pairs well with our meal. Offerings such as savory Osso Buco, delicious black pasta topped with your favorite seafood and sauce,,,,I love the pink sauce, my hubby loves the red. The delightfully tender seabass served with a beautiful red pepper sauce. I am a seabass lover so Enrique is always surprising me with new ways they have prepared this delicious dish. The lasagna specials are fantastic as well..... oozing with creamy cheese and sauce that could tantalize any taste bud. Oh....and save room for dessert.....They make all their own .... my favorite being the chocolate dipped cannoli....just scrumptious!! My kids love the creamy chocolate mousse. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! We have also held several dinner parties here with up to 50 people at a time. Our guests have always raved about the delicious, generous portions and beautiful presentation. Every guest was extremely well attended throughout the evening. The staff members are extremely well mannered and professional.....with the owner, Enrique, personally welcoming each and every guest. Enrique also personally presents the menu, specials, and thoroughly answers all questions and/ or special orders. He is extremely friendly and personable with everyone. Another sweet surprise was how Enrique accommodated my Mother who can rarely go out to eat anymore. She has severe food allergies that has ended up with her in the E.R. after dining at chain restaurants that couldn't or wouldn't prepare a meal per her needs. Enrique personally reviewed each item on the menu with her and cooked a special meal just for her!!! This is the only restaurant she feels comfortable dining at...... knowing the meal was made special with her food allergies in mind. It is nice to finally have an establishment that can meet her special needs so she enjoy dining out with the family again. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with nice artwork and has a fine dining atmosphere. A very nice courtyard area for those who enjoy dining outdoors. The venue is always extremely clean and orderly. The restaurant has a dining area that can be closed off if you are having a private party as well. It is quite apparent the owner, Enrique, takes great pride in his establishment. It shows from the minute he greets you at the door.... His personal attention throughout your dining experience....and if you don't have time to dine in he will have it prepared to go. We get take out orders often during the week and it is always delicious! I highly recommend you give this fine venue a try....you won't be disappointed.

AMAZING! I did not read any reviews before going to La Casa but took the word of several friends, what I did do is read the reviews afterwards... Upon walking up to the front door to La Casa you'll see a white sign that states the rules... it clearly states the Children policy about being under 10 years old, no children's menu, the patio and honestly, I am 100% okay with this. I personally do not have children (though I have 14 nieces and nephews) and it shouldn't matter if I do or don't, but I REALLY do not like going out to dinner at any price level restaurant and having my dinner not to mention my clothes ruined (yes this has happened) by children who are not being respectful to others dining. Yes, they are children and we all know who's responsibility it is to make them behave. Now I am not pointing my finger at every parent... so don't get all offended. Also, if you go to the website the Children Policy is right on the front page as well (which I did after reading some reviews). The menu makes it so hard to pick just one thing to order. Luckily for me, I was with 5 people, 4 of which had never been here so we all ordered something different and shared little bites with each other. I ordered the Marsala and it was perfect, we also ordered the lobster ravioli, a veal dish (can't remember the name), a pork shank, and a steak and every bite I tried was so mouth watering. I honestly can't wait to go back and try a different menu item! The service couldn't have been better, the owner/chef who for the life of me I can not remember his name took care of us the entire time. My friends and I thought that was really a winning touch on the part of the restaurant, you could hear his passion for the food and how he prepares it and he was just an all around great personality. He joked with us, offered good pairings and no not just the most expensive. He made it clear that he could make it any way we wanted because hello, that's what great service is... and as a little side note.... the menu CLEARLY states that they will make substitutions for anything for a price. So yeah we weren't surprised when we added ingredients to this or that about a surcharge. Everything here is homemade, when is the last time you went to Applebees and got homemade pasta for $11.99? I am pretty sure never so yes, the prices are a higher here, and with the quality/ freshness of ingredients and the service at this place, who really cares? So if you're expecting a cheap dinner, this isn't going to be the place for you as most main dishes start at 19 and go up. I love that this gem is located in Carrollwood and I didn't have to drive all the way down to SOHO. I bet if this was down in South Tampa the prices would even be higher to go along with the higher rent bill that comes with that location. I know I certainly have paid more for a less impressive meal down there. If you want true authentic Italian, this I where you'll want to be for sure. I can't wait to bring other friends with us next time!!

Excellent food and service. Try it and you will love it. The owner Enrique adds to the experience. Great guy. I've never have had a dish that I didn't enjoy. Bruce

This really is a hidden gem. Hands down the best Italian in Tampa. The food is amazing and the hospitality is even better. I had the lobster ravioli and my hubby had the stuffed sirloin both of us are every last bit of our meals. But had to save room for the cannoli and chocolate cake which is orgasmic. Took cannolis home with me and had them with coffee the next morning. We will both be going back for sure.

Very good princess sauce here try it with salmon or get the cubi di tonno. Very good pasta, no wonder it's called the house of pasta.

Went here with a LivingSocial deal and I have to say - we WILL be back! There aren't a lot of true homemade pasta options in the area and having just moved from DC and my fiance being a cook - we are a little picky (okay we are food snobs - you caught us!) - so this place was a pleasant surprise. I read the reviews before going and noted that people mentioned poor service and steeled myself for the worst, but it couldn't be further from the truth! They were beyond helpful, attentive, and charming. The owner (I think he was an owner) even gave us dessert for free as a special treat! The only problem I have with the place is that you can see behind there bar and that there is a TV in the dining room - for a nice place I would recommend taking that out. But that volume was down and I couldn't hear it - so it doesn't deserve a star demotion for me. It was a lovely place and there are fire sculptures outside on the patio - I look forward to coming back here when it is a bit colder out to enjoy those. Oh and in case you wanted to know what we ate: Eggplant Parm (which was to die for) and the Black (squid ink) homemade spaghetti - unbelievable!

Food was ok, definitely nothing special! Cost was outrageous and although they are rated as kid friendly, it definitely is NOT! $20 each for a plate of buttered noodles with some parley sprinkled on top. We were greeted poorly from the start and the service was poor throughout the meal.

Classic little Italian ristorante tucked into a less-then-thrilling strip mall location along Ehrlich Road in the northern Carrollwood area. La Casa Della Pasta sits in Northdale's Bourbon Street shopping center on the north side of Ehrlich between N. Dale Mabry and the Veterans Expressway, across from Ben Hill Middle School. You'll find Casa Della Pasta located behind the dry cleaners and convenience store which are visible from Ehrlich. Once you step through the front doors of the restaurant, you'll feel as though you've been transported into a charming Italian winery. The walls are painted dark red and gold, the tablecloths are black, and you're seated all around the dark wooden bar. The servers are very friendly, and I was quite impressed with the quality of service for a quick business luncheon. We ordered from the luncheon specials menu which gave you a choice of soup or salad, and about a dozen different pasta, veal, chicken, and fish dishes -- all for $8.99. The food was excellent, and it was a nice place to sit and chat while enjoying some excellent food. They serve wine by the glass or by the bottle. The restaurant also offers a nice outdoor al fresco dining experience with a handful of covered cafe tables. Dinner prices are closer to $20 per plate, and everything is ala carte for dinner. All of the pasta is homemade! It's worth the effort to search out this restaurant and enjoy a quality Italian lunch for a very fair price.

Simply put, they cannot make gnocchi. I've tried it twice. My parents are from Sicily and I know what it should taste like. Every time I've been it is totally dead there. My husband ordered the veal special and it was crazy expensive. We aren't going back. I hope they make some changes because we would love to support local businesses.

BEST Authentic Italian Place in the area FOOD: These pictures do not do the place justice. I'm not the biggest italian foodie but I seriously loved every dish that came out. My friend who lives on Italian food could not get enough! Its pricey but you are getting a fresh quality meal that is larger portions than other italian restaurants in the area. They also have some of the best deserts! From the chocolate cake, to flan, to authentic italian gelato and cream. DRINKS: From the homemade sangria they pride themselves on (which is delicious) to the craft beers and fine wine they provide, its all delicious. I personally love the delicious cappucino you can order at the end of your meal where they offer a surprising sweet treat on the side! ATMOSPHERE: The outside is beautiful with vines cascading down the restaurants brick walls and a comfortable yet luxurious lounge next to exotic fire pit towers that are especially welcoming on cool nights. The lounge area was great where you can sit and have a few drinks outside as we waited for the rest of our group The ambiance and atmosphere of the place had a comfortable authentic Italian feel to where it was both charming and elegant, just a small but elegant fine dining restaurant that took pride in the quality it provides from its decor to its smooth music to the semi formal experience you get throughout the night. SERVICE: Starting off with the server, Will who is incredibly knowledgeable on the menu, he also attentive, fast, and provides excellent quality service. Our glasses were never empty and anything we needed he was there before we ever needed to ask. When he wasn't taking care of us we could see him giving the other tables just as much care and attention. Sarah was all smiles and great conversationalist! She was very knowledgeable and proud to be working in the establishment as well. It seemed many customers loved her since they would request for her before even being seated. Then there is the manager, so attentive and proud of his establishment and it shows. He doesn't just check up on your table, he was genuinely interested in his customers and there were a few times where customers would walk in and immediately be greeted like family by the man as he even helped his servers by providing drinks and bringing plates to the table. It is always great to go to a restaurant where the owner/manager is immersed and completely invested in and cares about his patrons/ guests experience. TL;DR FOOD/ DRINKS ARE AUTHENTIC, INCREDIBLE, FILLING, AND DELICIOUS ATMOSPHERE IS IMMERSIVE and ROMANTIC SERVICE IS INCREDIBLE, FAST, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND ENGAGING. THANK YOU WILL, SARAH AND ENRIQUE FOR THE WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!

Great atmosphere and authentic Italian food. It was $75 for 2 entrees and 2 espressos. The romantic decor was nice

Over priced and a little dirty when you really look at things. I saw a dead roach on the floor and one in the top corner of the ceiling. After I was done eating unfortunately.. The owner is short tempered and only pays attention to you if you seem like you have money to spend. Yes they'll make you whatever you want but don't be surprised when your bill is suddenly $200+ for a two top.

We recently moved into the neighborhood near the restaurant. We've tried it twice. The first time the food was okay, nothing outstanding. We decided to give them a second try and arrived early on a Saturday around 6:30. The place was empty. We were told we weren't welcome due to our casual dress attire. So, your restaurant which is located in a run down shopping center is empty and you are turning away customers because they have tshirts and shorts on. We were prepared to order a bottle of wine, apps, dinner and dessert. Bottom line, we won't return. However, we did drive around the corner to a local wine bar where we had a great bottle of wine, amazing tapas, live entertainment, friendly staff and a great dessert. Had we not been turned away from casa Della pasta we would have never found our new favorite place for dinner. Thanks for your great (not) customer service.

We've been coming here for lunch and dinner for years and have never been disappointed. The food is outstanding - expect to pay accordingly. I've seen a number of negative comments regarding service and "kid friendly" environment. On busy nights, the service isn't lightning-fast, but when most everything is prepared to order, that's to be expected. Staff is always pleasant, though. My young son has been with us the majority of the time and Enrique has always been amazingly kind to him. If your kid knows how to properly behave in a restaurant (rare these days), you'll have no problems.

At Casa Della Pasta the service was excellent and the food was too. They were happy to make anything we wanted even if it was not listed on the menu. Each plate came out looking as good as it tasted. The specials were a bit pricey at $30-$39, but it felt like a fine dining experience.

The house salad had gorgonzola and pear. Wow! The grouper and spaghetti was fantastic! Great atmosphere and overall experience! Highly recommend.

La Casa Della Pasta is a hidden gem. It is truly the best Italian food in Tampa. Food is authentic and you get a reasonable amount of food for a reasonable price. The owners and staff are friendly and always accommodating. I know they also don't allow children inside the restaurant area (outside area they do). It's nice, quiet, and you can have an intimate dinner here. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Been coming here often over the years. Food is tremendous, but unexpectedly got turned away Friday night because we brought our 7 year old grandson along. This was at 6pm and the place was empty. Empty. So we drove down Dale Mabry to Donatello's. Glorious meal as always. It w,as no problem for Gino and Guido. LaCasa Dela Pasta is not in the same league as Donatello. You would think they would have a more kid friendly nature sitting at the end of a run down strip center. They not only turned away a C-note check,, but insulted a loyal, multi year customer who enjoyed their food. A shame--and bad business plan-- when nobody else is in the place.

Have no doubts, this place is awesome. Everything on the menu was great, all pastas homemade, attentive staff. A little pricey, but worth every penny. You will not be disappointed. Don't be afraid to check it out.

Did not try the food. Was rejected at the door because we had three grandkids with us who were under 10. The host offered to seat us outside with no children menus etc. the website info says kid friendly what a joke. We dine at many upscale places and have found that it very rare to see kids misbehave. Will not consider a place like this for any occasion since the owner insults me and my family through his or her exclusions.

Words cannot describe how great the food is here. It is superb. It is pricey but well with every dime!!! Black spaghetti with crab sauce is out of this world! I suggest everyone to give this place a try regardless of the price!

3 stars seems fair review. The food was outstanding and the owner was helpful and courteous. I especially liked the crab and lobster spaghetti with princess sauce. That dish was 5 stars for sure! The reason I can only give 3 stars is that we visited their website ahead of our visit and noticed a 20% off printable coupon placed prominently on the main page. We printed this coupon that had no expiration or limitations and presented it when our bill came. We were quickly told they no longer accept the coupon. My brother and I ordered 2 and 3 main courses each respectively so expected that coupon to save us $30 on our $150 bill. La Casa , you can scam us out of the $30 we should have saved and we still tipped the server better than $20 but you also have lost us as ever being return customers. Sad that your business can be so short sighted! ! Anyone have recommendations for another great pasta restaurant that respects their clients?

This place still has not changed. Food is good but waaaay to expensive and customer service is poor. Save your money and try somewhere else

Seems expensive until you get the entree. Steak feature was overpriced and a bit chewy, sea bass was perfect

Please remove the TV and then the food AND the ambience will be fantastico. No place like this anywhere else in Tampa, keep it authentic. It should be about the dining experience not the game.

Really enjoyed dinner here. Caprese Salad, Carpacchio, Farfalle with homemade sausage, Pasta Bolognese, cannolis. All very good.

When I travel for work, I sometimes need comfort food and Italian is just that for me. I happened to be in an area of town that I was not familiar with and Yelped for something delicious and this little gem came onto my radar. I was surprised when I walked in and was the only patron. I order straight from the menu but they will make you anything (so says the menu)! The pasta is home-made and you can tell. I did not dine in but the waitstaff/bartender was pleasant and entertaining as my meal was being prepared. Be careful or you might just drive by - make a U-turn and be sure to stop in...you won't be sorry!

Four of us went to this restaurant last night because we had a Groupon. The atmosphere was OK. The food was very good. It was seriously overpriced for what we received. There is a wine list by the bottle. When we asked about wine by the glass we were told that they had a Merlot, a Pinot Griggio, a Chianti and Red or White Sangria. The wines were just average. We were never told the brand. $9.50 for a glass of house wine is seriously overpriced The average entre alla carte was over $20. The average salad was $9.00. We could have eaten in the best restaurant in town for about the same price. Lasagna at $17.00 is a bit much. The restaurant was just about empty at 8 pm on a friday night. I don't think that at these prices it will ever get any busier.

My wife and I used our Groupon here last weekend, and we're glad we went! All the pasta is homemade and the waitress (girlfriend of the owner) was fantastic, very knowledgeable and pleasant. We started with the fried calamari steak, it was delicious, a good portion, good value. For our entrees the wife ordered the lasagna, and I ordered one of the daily 'Specials", a veal chop stuffed with cheese and an Italian meat (can't remember which one it was, maybe pancetta? Not prosciutto, but close...) with fresh pasta of the day on the side. We both loved the lasagna, very tender, creamy, smooth, just great. My veal chop special was very good, probably a little on the salty side but not a deal breaker. I was really really surprised when I got the bill and saw the special was almost $50, so I wasn't pleased about that....but I guess that's what you get for ordering a special. Buyer beware! We had more wine and beer for dessert, and were pleased to find a good locally owned Italian place nearby, will definitely be back again, but will order off the MENU ($20 entrees) instead of a special for $50.

With here with my GF because we had a Groupon as I had never heard of it. Staff was very pleasant as soon as we walked in. We got a Cabernet portafino bottle and started with the steak calamari, both were very good. She got a Cesar salad and said it was very fresh and good. She got the lasagna and I got the crab and lobster princess sauce but on ziti (comes with spaghetti but glad they accommodated my request because spaghetti can be messy). Both of us were very pleased and we actually got the special they are running, get a 25 buck gift certificate for 10 bucks because we definitely plan on coming back. Very pleased.

First visit ti Casa La Pasta. We had the Penne Rustica & the Ravioli. Everything we ordered was delicious. Very nice wine selection too. Service was good. Staff was very attentive & friendly. I guess my only complaint is that the prices are a little high for pasta. But everything was great.

From the veal and the fish, to the every day pastas, this place serves up delicious food. I especially love the brandy sauce on one of the veal dishes. Absolutely fantastic. The service is also excellent and the owner (from Bari, Italy) is usually right there to say hello.

I've been here 5 times now & let's face it, any restaurant can give you a great 1st meal. Casa della Pasta "brings it" through the entire rage of its menu, and the service is consistently stellar. If you are anywhere near Carrollwood, you owe it to yourself to make time for dinner here!

I ate here twice and I cannot wait to go back!! We had the beef carpaccio & stuffed eggplant to start, which both were amazing! Then we ordered a caprese salad and pasta fagioli, again amazing. Then for the main course I had the veal special, my wife had the black spaghetti with lobster & escargot, & our friend dining with us had the homemade gnocchi. Every entree was delicious and you could tell all were made from scratch. The owner even gave us a complimentary dessert which was a nice touch. If you are looking for an authentic, wonderful Italian meal, then Casa Della Pasta is where you need to go! I would go 4.5 if it was an option.

Fabulous, from the friendly and attentive staff who makes you feel so welcome, to the delicious Caesar salads, to the handmade pasta. We had already decided on what we planned to order after reviewing the menu before our first visit but upon hearing the special of the day we both went for the handmade fettucini with lobster and shrimp topped with vodka sauce. A generous portion of melt in your mouth pasta, delicious sauce and a huge amount of both shrimp and large chunks of lobster. Despite the 18 mile drive from our home, we plan on making this a regular dining spot. Nice atmosphere as well, you wont be disappointed. Easy to miss location at the back of a strip mall but well worth finding.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
