I love Thai food and this is my go to spot. The Carrollwood location is very small and intimate. They do have a separate room that could accommodate a medium sized party. The decor is a lot better then what you would expect for a Thai place in a strip mall so dine in is definitely an option here. The service is always friendly and I've never had a meal that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. My go to's are the chicken Tum Yum soup, steamed dumplings, and iced Thai tea. Lots of savory flavors that will leave you satisfied without being weighed down. If you're in the mood for Thai and in Carrollwood put this on your hit list!

Best Thai in the Tampa Bay area! We have been for dinner on three separate occasions now and have ordered 5 different entrées as well as a variety of appetizers, soups, salads and dessert. The food and service do not disappoint. The fried spring rolls and tom yum soup are fantastic starters and the Siam chicken and Volcano shrimp are favorite entrées. Be sure to save room for dessert because their doughnuts hit the spot as a slightly sweet treat after a deliciously spicy meal!

My husband says 1 star but he's not a yelper, he's just very opioniated and should be on yelp! I'd like to give it 2.5 stars but can't, so 2 it is. The steamed dumpling appetizer was gross, and looked n smelled like canned cat or dog food....completely unrecognizeable protein wrapped inside a wonton. I should've taken a picture, sorry i couldn't stomach it. The shrimp pad thai was decent, not great. The shrimp were large n plump, that was a little plus. When i asked the waiter to explain to me the difference between red curry, green curry, and pineapple curry...he got frustrated and just read what was written on the menu. So, I let it be and ordered the pineapple chicken curry. Not sure the rice that came with it was even jasmine rice....it should be in my opinion. It was good, not great, and not nearly enough chicken in it. The place is cute but so-so in cleanliness. I wish I had better things to say about this little place but I don't....so I won't.

This place is a gem. The rice was aromatic and fluffy. I had the Panang Curry with steak ordered spicy. Perfect level of heat. The vegetables were fresh cut and even crispy from light cooking. The portion was perfect aswell. So nice to get a nutritious meal under 10 bucks in the always classy...........ahem TAMPA!

I would never come again. As we ate the server asked if we are good as he flew next to the table. He never even got an answer. They tried to tell us how they are so busy. It is half empty inside. The fried rice had NO taste and when we asked for more things to fix it they wanted to charge us to much money. I love Thai food and this was a disaster.

Sunday night and it was a bit busy. 1 hostess and one waiter with 10-15 diners. Service was great. Food came unbelievably quick. Ordered chicken pineapple curry and chicken green curry for myself as I hadn't had either. With extra veggies. Finished the pineapple and will eat the green later. Both were great, crunchy veggies and savory curry. I needed to add a bit of spice because their medium is still a bit light. Overall a great dinner/experiment , will be back.

I visit Tampa about once a year as my father has lived there since I was a boy. Coming from Providence, RI I feel as though I know Asian food pretty good. Up until this past spring I never have had even remotely good luck with it in the south. I went to Jasmine Thai with very low expectations and then ended up eating there 3 times in one week. Great service, very nice prices, and some of the best fried rice I've ever had. This is as good as it gets in Tampa. Get the Spicy Chicken Fried Rice!

Really liked it. Had the shrimp Pad Thai. Very flavorful and distinctive. Sauce was very good and not cloying like some Thai sauces can be. Also had the Ginger Chicken. Fresh vegetables and delicate sauce. Service was fast. And there was a nice ending. They brought out finger size fresh Thai bread that tasted like donuts. They came with a very tasty sugar sauce. I could have eaten...oh I don't know....maybe 1,000 of them! Nice way to finish off the meal. Place is worth a stop. Excellent.

Never before have I seen such A-class Thai food meet such D-grade service. My 3-stars are a blend of 5-star for food and 1-star for service. Again, it was Sunday night, a very busy night, and quite possibly the owner (a very thin guy who's probably wealthier than all of his clientele) had stepped in to help the lone hostess (who was very nice and smiling). The service from the owner was unusually rude and discourteous (eg, how often do you get served or or order taken with the waiter's back turned towards you?). The food landed like a piece of hail with a thud more than once. ... But boy was it delicious. The best fried rice I've had (couldn't stop eating). An amazing green curry that kept me guessing. ... I think Sunday nights are probably bad - and you don't wanna get served by this guy. In fact, I recall visiting a year ago and getting served by possibly the owner's daughter niece, and she was so OMG and sweet, I almost felt like inviting her to join me for dinner.

I must say, I believe this is my favorite Thai restaurant in Tampa! It had been quite a while since I went to Jasmine Thai but I have always had fond memories as my husband took me on one of our very first dates to the Westshore location (they made the rice into a heart shape, really set the mood ha!). When Aleema A. and I were discussing grabbing some dinner, I thought Jasmine Thai sounded good so we headed here. It is so nice in here. If you are looking for a really cute Thai atmosphere, Jasmine is a great pick! Our server was extremely attentive. I ordered an "off menu" item of chicken and eggplant in pananag curry (Thai hot, oh yeah)! I shouldn't have eaten the whole thing, but I DID! The server picked up that I am a spice girl and brought out a spice tray and took the time to explain the different spices. Jasmine Thai is awesome and I'm glad that I reconnected with such a great restaurant!

I love this place so much! Not only is the environment beautiful and peaceful, the food is delicious and the people are very sweet and attentive. I'm vegetarian, and they have a variety of options that fit my eating style without sacrificing the taste. Recently, I bought the pumpkin tofu curry and it was great! I'm definitely recommending this place to my friends :)

Beautifully appointed yet relaxed thai. Great specials and menu selections, including good selection of import brews. Attentive, courteous sevice, and quick turnaround from order to food on table. We ordered a satay, iced thai tea and iced coffee, then special mussaman and papaya salad. Good and not excessive portions for lunch. Wonderful presentation. Will be back again and again! Thank you!

I have been going to Jazmine Thai for years. It was my first incursion in Thai food and the best yet. He serves us a traditional dish which is not on the menu... Crispy noodle with chicken or beef. the crispy noodles are amazing and have the flavor of the seasoned pots that is just delightful. Their Tom Kah (hope i spelled it right) soup is unbeatable. Thank you Jazmine Thai

Thai food has been a popular Asian cuisine in the Tampa bay area for several years, and there are now a number of excellent Thai restaurants in most every neighborhood. Jasmine Thai has been a long-time fixture off N. Dale Mabry in the Carrollwood neighborhood of NW Hillsborough County. You'll find Jasmine Thai in the Carrollwood Village shopping center alongside Bonefish Grill, Moe's, Firehouse Subs, Publix, Stein Mart and Panera Bread. The restaurant sits in the middle of the strip mall a few doors down from Panera Bread, but once you step through the front doors you'll forget that you're in the middle of a busy shopping center complex. The decorations are very classic Thai, and the restaurant is kept spotlessly clean. There is a covered patio outside, and they are pet friendly if you want to dine with your pooch. The manager is there most days and he is very delighted to welcome you and help explain the menu. If you're a first-time visitor then you can plan on lots of extra attention as he describes various dishes and helps you to determine what level of "heat" you should try. Even as a regular diner he was most gracious to me and my client and even brought us a few extra samples as we enjoyed our meal. We started with an appetizer of fried Thai egg rolls filled with meat and veggies. I'm not a big fan of fried food, but these rolls were delicious and not too greasy or heavy. I ordered my usual Tom Yum soup which is the Thai version of hot & sour soup with straw mushrooms, onions, bell pepper and flavored with lemon grass and kaffir lime leaves. I asked for medium heat, and it had a pretty good sinus-clearing kick to it. For my main entrée I ordered the Garlic and Black Pepper Chicken dish which was boneless breast of chicken strips sautéed in garlic & black pepper with steamed mixed vegetables, and served with Jasmine rice. It was a very tasty meal in a nice atmosphere with some very friendly and polite servers. Score this one a winner!

The food is great and we used to order to-go from them at least every other week. I was very disappointed with my last to-go order... The portion size was literally half of what it used to be. I'm hoping this was just a one time thing and they go back to their old portion sizes.

I don't know if it's the fact that I've been eating very healthy over the past year but this food was poor quality, chicken was chewy and tasted old, the garlic and pepper chicken was smothered in sauce, veggies were unfresh and salty. This used to be my favorite thai place back in the day. What happened? Service was rushed as well even when the restaurant was slow. America demand healthy fresh high quality food. Far better thai restaurant in oldsmar. No comparison.

  • Niana R.

We have had much better Thai food. Did not like the chicken panang at all; it was water and lacked flavor. The Thai green curry was just OK and also watery, but the person who ordered that got sick shortly after eating. Service was decent. Definitely not going back.

  • Marie H.

This is literally the only place I can go to on a Friday night and not have to wait in live for good Thai food. I get my penang curry SUPER DUPER mild, but even my friend who gets it as hot as it comes says it's good. Definitely one of my go-tos.

Cute place. Very nice inside and there was a lot to choose from I couldn't decide what to order. I ended up getting the chicken pad Thai and I wasn't disappointed. The service was fast and the staff was friendly. Will be coming back to try the curry

This restaurant is so frustrating. The food is fine - not amazing but acceptable. The problem is with takeout. They are horribly inaccurate with orders for takeout, whether placed in person or over the phone. I recommend checking the order carefully when they hand you the bag because they don't seem to know the difference between tom kha and tom yum. In the past they have also forgotten part of the order entirely. Sometimes it's a minor error, like no rice, but it's frustrating and certainly not okay when so many other restaurants can get take out orders correct. The worst part is that they argue with you when you call to point out the error. No sorry. No we will do better next time. No discount on current or future orders. Nothing. It's really not worth it to try anymore!

We were visiting some friends in the Westchase area and got a craving for Thai food. Took out my phone and turned to my trusty Yelp for advice on where to get some divine Thai food. Jasmine Thai in Carrollwood had some great ratings so we headed to Dale Mabry. Located in a strip mall near Publix and Bonefish Grill. Beautifully decorated when walking inside -- we tried an Egg Roll and Thai Spring Roll for appetizers. I personally liked the Egg Roll better (it is all veggies). The Thai Spring roll had an overwhelming fishy taste. For entrees I got the Shrimp Tempura with Teriyaki on the side and my daughter ordered the chicken, pork and beef in peanut sauce. My shrimp were really good, however my daughter's meal had way too much peanut sauce -- It was just drenched in peanut sauce and took away the taste of the meats. The Thai Iced Teas were very good. My daughter enjoyed Jasmine's Bananas for dessert (Crunchy bananas on top of homemade coconut ice cream). Now that was delicious. We would try this place again, but would definitely try something different.

Man what a pleasant surprise. We have a number one Thai place that we frequent but you what? Being number one can sometimes go to your head ant to thier credit the food quality is still consistently good but the "attitude" can change and you can possibly take your business and customers for granted. With that said we decided to venture off and try another Thai restaurant and I am glad to report that Jasmine Thai was a pleasant and rewarding change. We tried our usuals sea food Panang and chicken green curry. Now in all honesty it wasn't as good as our usual place but where jasmine Thai ranked above our usual spot was friendliness, customer service, and an owner that was eager to please. We also tried the appetizer sampler that was spectacular, the owner gave us a delicious bowl of soup that really comforting. The highlight was the dessert. A pumpkin custard with real pumpkin curled around the sesame coated custard that was accompanied by a scoop of coconut ice cream drizzled with honey. Delicious. Overall it was a very enjoyable meal highlighted by excellent guest service. So now another Thai option that my current number one Thai place will be sharing my money with instead of exclusivity. So the lesson here is you can be number one and still lose business if you take your success for granted. Thank you for an option Jasmine Thai. You now have an opportunity to be the new number 1.

This has gone downhill. It used to be the best in the area. But they are using shortcuts and you can tell. They throw any veggie in the dishes and sometimes it doesn't go with the meal or isn't typical. I've been twice recently and both times I was disappointed. The sauces are good. Good service. But it just isn't the same place that used to place decorative orchids on your dish. Not that those matter. But it shows what attention to detail they formerly had.

Wow, this place has not been reviewed in a while. What I loved most about this place was that they actually had outside seating. I am always looking for outside seating especially when the weather is right, and I have my dog with me. Yes, this place is pet friendly. At first the service was kind of weird. I looked at the menu while standing at the front desk, and it just seemed quite difficult. I like Thai food, but I am not familiar with a lot of it. I could not tell who I should ask about eat meal, and I finally got to the appropriate person. After I ordered my food, I sat outside with my dog, and only then is when the server was kind of nice to me. The soup was clear broth with a little bit of white rice and chicken with a spring roll. Pretty good. I also had the chicken and shrimp massamen which is a peanut sauce and it was pretty good. It did not stand out too much bc I just felt like it was sauce mixed with chicken and no biggie of something I can figure out at home. I'm glad I tried it bc now I know that is what massamen or red curry tasted like. I may be back bc the outside seating and pet friendly always make me happy.

Atmosphere was nice and the prices were good. The staff was friendly and the service was good as well. The chicken phad Thai however was lackluster. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't particularly good. I get chicken phad Thai at every Thai restaurant I go to and honestly this is the first time I've ever had bland phad Thai. In fairness their other dishes might be great. We got the appetizer sampler and it was fine. Anyway, if you're a phad Thai fan I think you'll be disappointed.

Came here earlier this week with my sister. The atmosphere is the typical Thai restaurant, but still nicely decorated. The service was not that great...the waitress didn't seem to like her job and maybe had a language barrier speaking English. She got the job done though. Their Cream of Mushroom Chicken Soup was pretty good. It had a very powerful aftertaste, but wasn't the best I have had. The Pad Thai had good flavoring on the top, but once I got past the top of the noodles the noodles were bland and honestly didn't taste very good. They gave complimentary dessert as well and it was decent. The Jasmine Thai in Brandon and Ploy Thai in Brandon are far better, though this place is a step up from Thai Thani.

I joined some friends for lunch here yesterday and found the atmosphere, food and service to be really good. Menu prices were fair. I ordered the Panang Chicken, one of my favorites - and they asked how hot I wanted it and I ordered medium and the waiter said medium to mild or medium to hot - I like that choice. My food was well presented, we were served soup and egg roll with lunch special although I had ordered from the regular menu. The veggies were fresh and the sauce was perfect. My bill including drink was under $10 -

Good Thai food that is conveniently located. I love their spicy noodles. The best part though is the very friendly staff and service, which makes this place stand out. The owner is very friendly and always tells us to come back soon, and remembers us, even though we're not regulars.

The coconut seafood soup was delicious and a lot of soup for $5, The beef fried rice was ok, but the beef tasted boiled and not seared. The staff was friendly and the decor is very Thai. My boyfriend had the chicken satay, which was ok. The only thing that stood out was the soup. Not sure if I would come back for anything else.

My boyfriend and I had lunch here once. The service was restaurant standard and the Pad Thai was initially good. After finishing my first glass of water, I was brought another; as was the table of the 8+ family sitting very close by. It wasn't too long that I realized something tasted, off. I asked my boyfriend to try the water and he responded that it tasted like chlorine told me not to drink it. Shortly after, one of the men from the family exclaimed, "there is bleach in this water!" to which the mother took the glasses out of the children's hands. Needless to say, I didn't finish my meal. I pushed my plate away from me and explained to the waiter that because of this water I had no desire to finish the dish. He told me that the table-cleaning water must have been confused with the drinking water. We did not get our meals comped, not even an apology, and we will certainly not be returning.

Jasmine Thai is located in a strip shopping center, at the opposite end from the Melting Pot restaurant. Jasmine Thai is pretty inside and the service was very good. I felt like the menu offered most of the typical Thai dishes with choice of vegetable, tofu, meat or shrimp. Everyone enjoyed their dish. The one reason I rated Jasmine Thai a 3 star is that this is the first time I left a Thai restaurant hungry. I alway order an entree and tea, and eat the whole entree. After our group left the restaurant and went our separate ways, I went home and had something else to eat! Even the rice serving was small, as compared to other Thai restaurants. I am a small person, so it's not that I wanted to overeat. I noticed in particular that the amount of vegetables in my entree were small in quantity and variation. If you go, plan on getting a soup or appetizer to go with the entree. The entree prices are typical of Thai restaurants - $11 - $14.

Food very good, curry especially. They are able to accommodate the perfect amount of heat in their dishes for you. Staff and service sub par to the food. Menu full of typos and handwritten notes. Has a general feeling of needing an update.

  • Jessica M.

Small place, but decent Thai and the service is fast and friendly. I love to go for lunch because you get an egg roll and soup, and the entree is still so big that I always have to take some as left overs. Also, if you really like hot Thai food (my husband loves it), they will really make it spicy if you ask. They may ask you if you're sure you want it "Thai hot", but it will definitely be worth it if that's what you want. The only negatives for me are that it really is quite a small restaurant so it's hard to feel any bit of privacy, and the service is almost TOO fast, to where you feel almost rushed through your meal. But, the food is always consistent and they are very friendly.

This place was rated 5 stars by newspaper food critics for years. Not sure if it has held that rating. When I ate here in 2009, I was very impressed--noted it would "make Thai skeptics into Thai lovers". I noted "Exquisite food, beautiful ambience, option for floor sitting, everything melts in your mouth!" When I returned in June 2010 I was a little disappointed. Service was not friendly nor fast. The panang was just so-so. I will still go back but it dropped from my "top rated" places.

Tonight was my first and last time at the Jasmine Thai. I will say that the service was lovely and all the employees had great personalities, but the food was definitely lacking and I'd rather have shitty service and awesome food. The coconut chicken soup I had was good (not great, good), but after that mine and my mother's entree entered into the land of the mediocre. I have experienced Pad-see-ew at countless other Thai places and found that the flavor here was subpar and the chicken was lacking in tenderness. My mother ordered some shrimp curry thing that basically tasted like plain ol shrimp surrounded by brown water. She also ordered this after disregarding the man who was like "Hey, get our special because what you're about to order takes way too long to make and this special is ready to go." Although the people were nice I felt a lil rushed near the end of my meal and it was definitely well over half an hour to closing time. To be fair we were finished with our food and drinks and instead of offering me more drinks my cups just disappeared. I was like "Ok, cool, didn't need more water at all...." All in all I want to know who the crazies were that rated this a 24 on Zagat because, no. Just, no. Maybe the food is great earlier in the day, but if you're going to be rated well your food has to taste delicious all the time. In conclusion: If you want mediocre Thai food with nice waiters then this is your place, but for the price I'd say you can get better elsewhere.

Good quality food and friendly service. Only negative is that they seem to always be understaffed (stressed), but they do a good job, despite the stress level. Very good Pad Thai, and the Three Friends Panang is excellent.

They confuse me for my boyfriends ex boyfriend. I've been coming here for 3 years with him and they still think I am his ex. Really annoying!! Food is great but hate those darn servers.

The restaurant was an average Thai restaurant, nothing special stood out to me. I had lunch while waiting for the oil to be changed in my car across the street. The food and service was good and I would definitely return for another meal. Next time I would like to go with multiple people so I could try more items! The meal I ordered was a spicy beef/chicken dish with veggies. The meal was ordered Thai hot as I love spicy food... It did not disappoint but was not so hot that it wasn't enjoyable

Great atmosphere, not too pricey. I was pretty spoiled by Chicago Thai food restaurants, but this place pleasantly surprised me. It wasn't hot enough in my opinion, definitely agree with the spiced down review. I would recommend it for sure, they also let us walk in at like 10PM and get served, so service was great too.

I do like Jasmine Thai, however they are pricy with their dishes being $5+ over comperable meals at other thai restaurants. Good food but nothing spectacular.

This place was ok. Nice decor and good ambiance though. It was weird how they brought the Gai Sateh (skewered chicken) half cooked so you can finish cooking it yourself at the table. I like it brought to me already cooked; it tastes better in my opinion. I swear every Thai restaurant in Tampa bay must have the same Tom Kha Gai (coconut chicken soup) recipe because they all taste the same! It blows my mind, but I'm still on a mission to find a good Thai restaurant in Tampa. Ok, back to the review (sorry I had to vent), the tom yum goong (hot and sour shrimp soup) was good but they didn't give me enough mushrooms, yum nuer (beef salad) was too sweet and totally lacking in the sour department (Thai salads or yums are supposed to be intensely seasoned. You're supposed to taste every single flavor in every bite, which make them AMAZING, but many people aren't used to that so they make the dishes BLAND. Boo.) The pineapple curry shrimp was actually pretty good, although it would have been even better if they actually took the time to chop the pineapple chunks more instead of pouring the canned pineapples straight in. Oh and they have cute salt and pepper shakers. Be careful though because at my table the white one had pepper in it. Haha...poor friend. I also thought it was cute how the rice was heart shaped.

So far this is the only place I go for Thai food. If you like spicy food, head on over and try some of their hot stuff. Found this long time ago, the food always been good. But about a year ago they started cutting back on portions. This only bothered me b/c we were so used to it being larger portion and sharing, the cut back kind of made sharing hard. It's like everyone takes a bite and whoever actually ordered the dish will probably have a bite and a half left. The place is nicely decorated and the service was very nice. This is also the first place I tried Thai tea, which is still very good after all these years.

Average Thai food at a high price. Service was good and location was clean but I left with a lighter pocket.

Very good food. Maybe overpriced and wish I got more portion but still very good flavor.

Typically this spot delivers time after time. However, my recent trips to this restaurant has been less than consistently good. My rice was like mash potato and my garlic pepper shrimp was a little bland. Maybe I'll have better luck next time. I love the Thai ambiance though.

The food is good but on the pricey side. I normally go for lunch because dinner is just too expensive here. The lunch special never disappoint me. The wait staff is usually very attentive here. The decor is beautiful but has scaled down a little bit since coming here 10 years ago. (I think the place has changed owners.)

I was "introduced" to Thai about 10 years ago at this place. I fell in love with Thai and this place instantly. I've been many times. They have had "off"days, but its been fantastic most of the time. I wish they wouldn't crowd so many tables closely together....feel like you are eating with strangers some times.

Frequent Jasmine Thai for lunch and love it. Get the Chicken Coconut Soup. Lunch Specials are great : soup, entree, and a little thai desert to top it off.

As a testament to how good the food the food was, the service was HORRIFIC but we went back and will continue to. We had the rice dish with pineapple and shrimp, it was fantastic. Smoky and spicy the shrimp were tender yet firm. The flavor was addictive! We also had one of the basil dishes with a dark sauce and it was extremely good. The tom kha was seasoned just right with lots of purple onions that accented the flavor. The "two friends" dish their award winning one, was not as stellar as some of their other selections. The crab rangoon is different than most you have probably tried it is more authentic. It has actual crab and curry powder in it. It is truly delicious. If you can get one of the ladies to wait on you versus the owner who is not good at waiting on tables then it will be a great experience.

Go for the atmosphere. The food is spiced down for American palates, but the decor has always been nice. Very overrated at this point, but not terrible.
