I wish I could give 2.5, because I am right in the middle with this place..... Not a whole lot to say, it was a typical Hooters. We went to watch the Bucs game on Thursday night and we happened to be in the Channelside area. Kate was our server and she was very attentive and took good care of us. My boyfriend had the Hooters salad (which looked pretty good) and the grilled buffalo chicken wrap, which they forgot to put buffalo sauce and it looked like it was mostly tortilla. The Margaritas are tasty but very weak. I wanted something stronger, so I got the GreyGoose Martini. I know GG is smooth, but that was the first time I have not been able to taste the alcohol in what is supposed to be an alcoholic drink. I have a feeling the martini was overly shaken. Might be back if I am in the area, but definitely would not go out of my way to drink or dine here.

Every time I come to this Hooters, the food is bad and the service is terrible. I've been to plenty of Hooters restaurants and haven't had a bad experience at any of the others, but this one is always very poor. I came here one night and they told us to seat ourselves. We sat down and waited thirty minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. When the waitress finally showed up, we ordered our food and drinks at the same time. The drinks came pretty quickly, but the food took forever. By the time the food came, it was already cold when they served it to us. Not to mention, what we ordered was completely different than what the girl brought us. I've noticed on multiple occasions that the girls tend to stand around in the corners of the restaurant texting. None of them want to work or make any money apparently.

This Hooters is terrible. The food is poor and the service was worse. I really can't tell you why we visited except there was no more room in the 2 other restaurants. Steer clear of this joint. You shouldn't be eating at Channelside anyhow.

Not sure what happen with the other reviewers but we had an excellent experience. We were greeted and taken to our table. Our waitress was very nice. Always checking back with us. She even changed the tv channels for me. The wings were excellent. Cooked perfectly, just the right amount of sauce and spice. The only negative was the order of curly fries were not hot, but I was enjoying the wings to much to care. The restaurant was busy and from what I could tell people were happy and enjoying them selves. Overall a very good experience and I will be back.

It is fair to say that no one goes to hooters for the food but this one really drives that point home. Save yourself the disappointment and just go somewhere else.

This Hooters is a victim of its location. Channelside is undergoing a Vinik-inspired renaissance which is awesome, but franchise-chain places like this with their familiarity and easiness are a terrible fit for a spot next to a cruise port. The result of cruise-goers waiting to embark or disembarking and hungry means a lot of quick, high turnover tables which reflect poorly on the normal Hooters experience. I - and most Hooters patrons - want a friendly server who might slow down to chat for a few minutes and pour your beer for you. But they're so constantly rushed here, that never happens. We didn't even get our server's name, which is startling considering our entrees took 51 minutes to come out after ordering. I would've told someone, but nobody ever stopped. Yow. Management took care of the bill, which was appropriate given what happened, so good on them. But this place doesn't have the Hooters vibe, which is disappointing considering it could be such a flagship location for travelers who may have never been to Tampa. Wings were pretty good though.

I do love a good Hooters. This one was ok. BF and I stopped by after the hockey game. It was, obviously, busy. We waited about 30 minutes for a table, which was fine, no surprise there of course. Waitress was pleasant. There was the issue of ordering an order of tater tots, and it came out with all this...stuff on it. Including bacon bits. That sucks. I don't eat pork. We only ordered tater tots, not the loaded ones. I know the difference. *sigh* Since it was already late we didn't feel like reordering them, since we had to wait a while for the first ones. Drink I got was good. Bathroom was atrocious! But I will totally give a little slack there as it was Stanley Cup night and I'm sure they were uber busy all night. All in all ok. I'd give them another chance if I was in the area again.

We were in Tampa for Riverfest. We ended up at this Hooters b/c of their kids menu. After being seated, we spent 6 minutes watching the waitress complain and debate with other girls and the manager over who was going to take our table....because she wasn't. Then out of no where, from the other side of the restaurant, this beautiful ray of sunshine, Molly, appeared and made our day. Best service I've ever had. We had the displeasure of watching the disgruntled, pretentious waitress do her job around us and trust me, we got the better end of the deal! I can only assume, she hates kids, b/c her tables barely saw her. Here's what this ignorant little girl didn't know: My eldest worked at Hooters in Daytona for sev. years and I worked in the hospitality industry as a corp. trainer for many years. Regardless, we gave Molly a large tip. A selfless young woman made more at one 5 top than the lazy prejudice waitress made with her other three tables combined. I doubt she learned anything from it. There is a reason Hooters is no longer popular. This Hooters is OLD, the bathrooms are sad and need a serious update, I don't care if they are the "original". As you walk back to your table, you can see the black mold embedded within the grain of the worn wood floors. There were two groups of girls there. One group was there to work and make money, the other group was there to stand around, complain and wonder out loud why they had not been cut yet. It was a very indifferent atmosphere.

Disappointing! I'd never been to a Hooters before. I've been to Wing House many a time and felt guilty about liking it so much because I don't like going to chains, especially those serving mostly fried foods. But I found myself craving it all the time. So then I go to Hooters and WHAT a DISAPPOINTMENT!!! I got the buffalo chicken salad. It's almost a joke that they ask you what sauce you want on the chicken because I could BARELY taste it!! It was ever so scantily "dipped." The salad came in a small bowl and there was some brown in the lettuce. It didn't fill me at all. Now I know, it's a salad. However, If you've ever been to Wing House and had THEIR buffalo chicken salad that comes in a bowl bigger than my head x2, you'll understand where I'm coming from. WH also slathers on the sauce. So in summary, if this salad is a reflexion of Hooters' food overall, what is wrong with you people who still go there??? I no longer feel guilty about my Wing House obsession. It's been justified, even for a chain. As for Hooters, I will never willingly go there again.

It's a hooters and you get what you pay for. So, expectations are low to begin with. The place garners a star for location, another for the view but that's about it.

Yeah, Hooters the old 80's Chesteraunt concept still lingering around haunting Tampa like a bad case of crotch fleas. They are certainly consistent. Yes, consistently questionable service. The food is always the same with the exception that they've removed the addable crab leg clusters. I never got to order them at this location anyway. Thing is, with a new Ferg's down the street, and so many cooler places around, why do we keep coming back like beaten dogs for scraps? First, the cold cheap beer. Also, it's such a thoughtless meeting spot, that any out of towner can easily find the cheesiest place on the strip right on the corner. If you are really hungry, there are a few gems on the menu, like the buffalo shrimp and maybe some fresh oysters. It's such a traditional stop that we almost walk, bike or drive to it robotically. It's just across from the trolley stop, so you can wait with drink in hand. The manager is always way cool! It's so dark and chilly with it's fragrant wooden panels on hot Summer days. There's always ample seating-usually. There are never screaming babies here. You always know exactly what you are getting into. That's all I've got. I always come here, and I probably always will. It's okay!

Food was cold. We had fish bites chicken cheese burger and chicken bites. Everything came with fries and it was all cold. The waitress was very nice. But I would not come back to this Hooters

I know everyone goes to Hooters for the wings, I personally like the oysters and the chocolate cake...I have tried a lot of chocolate cakes and this has been my favorite for a long time....descent size cake for a good price. This location is great if you are in Downtown for a fun night.

It's a Hooters. Sigh. 99% of the customers are bored guys. They serve crappy fried food, lubricated with grease to ease digestion. The only redeeming characteristic is the full bar although anything more complicated than "a beer", throws them for a loop I pray to not have to visit here again, unless I'm again outvoted 10:1 by a degenerate set of friends.

I am the farthest thing from a Puritan. But, I used to be a Hooters virgin until recently. I have travelled to Vegas many times and have visited strip joints with friends... and even have gotten lap dances. And enjoyed them. Went to Hooters last Sunday. A short walk from my place, I keep giving the Channelside doom a leap of faith. I return like a devoted pilgrim silently praying for a miracle. I love the vibe of the place filled with tourists during cruise days...and I believe I am staycationing. The joy remains until I walk into the restaurants. Hooters was not an exception. Yes, it is a chainfood place. Can that, alone, excuse the over coated wings and excessive sauce to hide the dryness? Perhaps. Deep in my heart I know better... it is frozen food recently returned from a swim in a deep fryer. I knew that walking in. And it was my choice to walk in... the margarita was pretty to look at. The place was packed with every possibility of client... married men ogling fluorescent orange-pantied gals who wore really disturbing grandma pantyhose... single men ogling the same... bold women staring amused (I am part of this group)... wives pretending to enjoy their husbands and sons ogling the same...wide-eyed kids cranking their necks as their heads turn directed by the struts... lots of televisions displaying different sports channels and even a cooking show (the cooks ought to come out and watch). Did I eat more left wings or right wings? TV shows and the blandness of food...All forgotten and unobserved by the silent commotion or the distraction caused by color. The irony didn't escape me. I left hooters thinking of politics.

Love the location in Channelside! It was a typical Hooters meal. The boneless wings tasted like they always do. Our server was slow, we sat for almost 10 minutes before she even came over to greet us and only asked to refill our empty cups as we were leaving. Other than that it was just your average hooter's outing.

Came in with a large party and had to have two separate checks even though we were seated at two tables close to each other. One table was fed and finished eating while we were STILL waiting for our appetizers. It was only wings for Christ sake!!!!! One HOUR after taking my order I FINALLY received my food... Not to mention I ordered a slice of Key Lime pie to be eaten as an appetizer, and as u can guess, it took 45 minutes for that to come as well.... I expected my fries to be hot and of course they were not. I will not be back.

You really can't go wrong with Hooters no matter where you go. Service is attentive as usual and the offerings are reliable. Can't vouch for the food at this location since I arrived late to my group and didn't have a chance to try it out. This location is at the main entrance of Channelside before you walk through to the courtyard. Not on the waterfront portion of the area but plenty of outdoor seating available on nice days/nights for entertaining people-watching.

It's a Hooter, everyone I have been too have been the same. What you get at one location is what you get at another location. At least you know what to expect when you go to one. 4 STARS FOR THE BREADED WINGS WITH HOT SAUCE ON THE SIDE. YUM(Love their wings!).

Great place to visit before an NHL game. Wings were good but not as good other Hooters I visited. Wish Hooters would get away from putting so much batter on them. ....but they do taste great @ expense of my waste line!

This is first Hooters I have ever been to, and I hail from Seattle! The hooters part is played up, but the service is friendly and prompt. Drinks were reasonable. Had steak sandwich which was pretty good. The environment was riding close to fast food place, but I think the place plays to the blue collar man that loves these places. Is this the one John Daly passed out at? I would give another star if so...

Came back to Hooters and had another great experience. Nicole our waitress was awesome and the new sauce (honey Thai or something like that) was fantastic! Another awesome Hooters girl out of the Tampa location, well done!!

Our waitress was very attentive and very friendly on a particularly busy day so that was a plus. I tried the daily special which was the boneless buffalo wings with fries, which turned out to be pretty good. The problem was the place was a complete dump; we sat outside and most of the tables looked like they hadn't been cleaned since the Reagan administration. The bathroom was disgusting. I felt like lighting myself on fire after leaving the joint just to cleanse myself.

Good wings. They validate the chip coins for the garage so parking only costs about $1.00. I like the naked wings and my daughter likes the go boneless special for $7.99 including fries. The service is hit or miss but usually the girls are pleasant.

Best Hooters I've been to, with regard to food. The freshest oysters I've ever had, and the wings were awesome. The service was horrible, though, and they tried to rush us out of there before we were even finished eating.

Let's be perfectly honest........people don't really go to Hooters for the food, do they? If so, you might want to seriously consider trying something other than the Hooters at Channelside in downtown Tampa. I'm in a special training class all week with members of the Tampa Police and Fire Departments, and a group of us went out for "a quick lunch" at Hooters in Channelside today. Clearly the peroxide had seeped into the brains of the young ladies working at this Hooters because they were the dizziest group of servers I have ever seen. I thought I was ordering a fairly simple boneless wing special with medium sauce and curly fries for lunch, but clearly this taxed the mental capacity of the young lady waiting on our table. We advised her up front that we only had about an hour for lunch before we had to get back to class, and after 90 minutes we were still trying to hunt her down so that we could pay and leave. No thanks, we'll find other places to eat for the remainder of this week.

This was our first time at this particular Hooters, and frankly, it was horrible. We were seated promptly, but waited what seemed like forever for our server to come to our table for our drink order. When she finally came we gave her our entire order, food and drinks. When our food finally arrived it was cold. My husband ordered the garlic chipolte boneless wings and I decided I would "splurge" and split them with him. They weren't worth the splurge. In fact, I spit out the first wing into a napkin, tried a second, and it was just as awful as the first. They were way overcooked, and cold. The seasoning was bland and not at all what I would expect from Hooters. My husband ordered a Margarita, very clearly asked for NO SALT on the rim, and yup...it came with salt. The bathrooms were also in a complete state of disarray. My 9yo daughter noticed mold growing on the wall under the hand dryer, and my 7yo son came out of the men's bathroom saying "that is the most disgusting bathroom I have ever seen." And coming from him...that says a lot. We did not ask to have our order remade because we were heading to the circus so needed to head out, but we won't be returning to this Hooters that's for sure!

So far the service is poor. Our girl said there's no clean silverware so plastic. .kitchen is loud yelling to pick up food ..girls flirting food served still no real silverware. .very very poor .no wonder channels ide is dying this is very bad..corporate must use this one as a write off location...food is far....bummer

Hooters have to love the wings. This hooters location by far has the worst service of any hooters location I have been to. That's all I can say. Can't complain about the food. The service ruined this location for me. Hope they can get their act together.

Man, this Hooters has some rough reviews, but I can only write about my experience, and it was an enjoyable one. I came in solo for a quick bite while working nearby and I'm glad I did. My server Steph was awesome. I never had to ask for a thing. My food was good, but nothing too special, it was just above average Hooter's food and that's ok. The drinks were made well and it was a visually very pleasant atmosphere.

  • Kelly Q.

For what I was expecting for a Hooters for my first time, this wasn't half bad. It was...cleaner than I was expecting. And there was oddly a lot of children (I know, I'm confused too). The waitress did mess up a couple of our orders--for which she promptly blamed the kitchen staff--but I find it ironic that it also happened to my fellow yelper Steve E. My friend Jeremy was also served an injustice here. He made a very sweet gesture of leaving his number with an accompanying heart and smiley face for our sweet blonde waitress and was never called. What kind of heartless people work here? But honestly, the boneless wings I ordered were nothing dazzling. I should have gone with the bone in or the salad I was also eyeing. Notes for next time. Should there be one.

We came before the Fleetwood Mac concert. .we came early understanding it would be a busy night. But oh my god talk about poor service. ..slow service. 2 of the 3 bartenders wouldn't even look down at our side of the bar..took 25 minutes for our drink order ..then waited anther 15 minutes for the drink. We asked for water 5 times. .never got it. Our food took 35 minutes..so in 2 1/2 hours we had 2 drinks and had to rush eating our food because it took so long. Everyone around me was complaining. .one woman said she was waiting 45 minutes for a water and sweet tea...then after she expressed her frustration. .they charged her. It was terrible. ..I will never go back again. You would think after all these years they would be better staffed for big events at the arena.

Somehow, at the ripe old age of 34, I'd never been to a Hooters. So, my man and I recently decided to grab some wings before heading out for a night on the town. Well, I'm glad I checked that off the list, but I can't say I was impressed. Even he admitted that it wasn't what he remembered as far as food quality. The service was alright, not much to complain about (except where are the wet-naps?!). But the wings were overly breaded and didn't have much sauce on them. Our waitress brought us extra sauce upon request, but for a place touted for its wings, we were disappointed. I've had good wings before, and luckily pretty soon after this experience I visited a Winghouse, and I have to say I prefer their wings hands down over Hooter's. I did enjoy eating outside, and I felt like they were adequately staffed. Drink refills were prompt and our check came in a timely manner. The food was just meh.

I'm pretty understanding where bad service and even bad food are concerned. But this place was ridiculous. I was part of a party of 11. A bachelor/bachelorette party. We waited patiently for a table to be ready... in a mostly empty restaurant. When they finally seated us, they informed us that we would just have to sit at two tables. A party of 11, trying to celebrate together, waiting patiently, and we still get two tables? We saw an empty nearby table and decided to move it over to accommodate our entire party. The four servers standing nearby threw every scowl they had our way and one spoke up pretty loudly... "Ugh! I don't know why they couldn't just sit at two tables!" Turns out, the table we moved was from a different section and two servers would have had to split our party. One of us was nice enough to give that server $20 to shut up, I mean, to ameliorate her loss. After that debacle, we settled in and tried to have a good time. Our server was decently nice and attentive, friendly and helpful. When it came time to order, I'm not sure what possessed me. I got the Buffalo Shrimp Wrap, substituted the buffalo sauce for a BBQ sauce and ordered a side of tater tots. Getting a shrimp wrap at essentially what amounts to a burger/bar place was probably stupid of me. And the BBQ sauce, a total whim, was even more nonsensical as it seems no restaurant knows how to lightly use BBQ sauce on anything. Sure enough, when we got our food, I could hardly find the shrimp for all the breading and the sea of BBQ sauce. It was pretty disgusting. And after seeing everyone else's plates paraded out with mounds of fries and tots, I was pretty disappointed to see about half that amount of tots on my plate. It just all looked sort of pathetic. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The attitude and atmosphere would ruin the experience even if the food didn't.

I've been a regular here every 4th day for the last 5 months. A couple of the waitresses greet me by name. I ordered a beer and wings. They refused to serve me the beer because all I had was my ship ID. I was super annoyed because I am obviously of age. Stupid red tape BS at Hooters?! Really?! I'll hit the Thai place upstairs next time. Their beer is way cheaper anyway. Super lame.

  • Jess M.

This is one of the better Hooters I have been to (and that's quite a few). The women are hot and friendly. The service is fast and the beer is cold. They have an updated menu, which Hooters desperately needed for the past several years. It's close to the water, and sitting outside in downtown Tampa by the bay having a cold beer in 80 degree weather is very nice in late November! I will go back for dinner next week and I'll give a nighttime review at that point. This trip was for lunch.

We (party of three) walked in. No-one at the hostess desk. Wait a few minutes, a large group comes in 10+. Hostess walks up and despite us clearly being first in line, goes after the bigger party and starts to seat them. They start to argue about sitting at two tables. We left, went next door to the Precinct Pizza where the service was A++.

Is this a Hooters? I thought it said so on the door, but when I walked in, I didn't see any hooters. These are some of the least endowed and "heavier around the waist" Hooters girls I've ever seen. Even my wife, who is less picky when it comes to girls than I am, couldn't really find very many dimes. Normally, you go to Hooters for the atmosphere, and then the food is an added bonus, but the food here was not very good, and the atmosphere could have used a few boob jobs. I hear Victoria's Secret sells Magic bras that double a cup size *wink wink*. The most exciting thing about this Hooters was watching the trolley go by. Seriously though, I always order the cheesesteak, and have always insisted to my friends that Hooters's cheesesteaks are better than Wing House's. That is not true at this location. My wife and I were both unsatisfied with our cheesesteaks. They just didn't taste good. Admittedly, two days later when I reheated what I had taken home with me, it was ok. But that should tell you something... the food tastes better two days later and reheated. Anyways, at least our waitress was friendly.

AWFUL! I have absolutely no idea how this eatery has thrived for so long. The food is absolutely awful, the service is slow with vapid, ditzy servers and the experience was absolutely awful. Why do guys love this cheezy joint?

Don't make the mistake of coming in near closing. Manager is rude. The bartender felt sorry for us and was really nice. Thankfully we were able to get food. The manager have me some excuse about not being in control of the times posted. In the 20 minutes that it took for our food to be made I reported the problem with the hours to google and to yelp. You're welcome mr manager. Take control of your online presence.

Came here for a quick lunch/dinner. My mom enjoyed her salad. As for me the wings were drenched in cold sauce but the wings were hot- so weird (I'm guessing they think by the wings being hot it would warm up the sauce?!) I had to return the wings & got a chicken sandwich that didn't taste fully cooked. Onion rings and tots were great though. My waitress christen was very pleasant even when I returned the horrible wings. Very friendly & always with a smile. 3 stars goes to her!! *** My only complaint - I got the chicken sandwich she asked me if I wanted tots or something else so I picked the tots & then asked me if I wanted to try this cheese sauce - so I said yes.. Why not. My bill came it was an extra 3ish bucks for those two things. It's not a complaint but should have been told to me since I wouldn't have upped for the .79 cent cheese I didn't even like & only ate a few tots. (They were good just full off the beer and onion rings)

Hooters is the same everywhere but we had exceptional service last night after a concert. so much so that I had to ask our servers name. her name was Carly? I think thats how you spell it? either way she made our time there great! :) thank you!

Was seated, and after 10 minutes of being ignored, we left and walked to a nearby restaurant around the corner. They were not very busy, but the server in our area was too busy flirting with another customer to even look at us. BTW 5 of us, and the object of the waitresses desire was by himself. You would think at some point a co-worker would have stepped in, or at least spoke to us.

This is the WORST Hooters I have ever been to! I have been to this location probaby 10 times and every single time the service was horrible, the servers are all ganged up together chatting and not taking care of the customers....to make matters worse the manager is always present but allows things to be this way. The only reason I have been so many times is because it is super close to where I live. I always do the surveys on the receipt honestly but it is apparent that they don't care because I have been going there for over a year now and the service has not gotten any better.

To start off it was a game night so I understand it being busy, but the hostesses were complete little snot nose bitches giggling and and being rude. The Manager Amber was the saving grace with her professional demeanor and the food was the norm. Hooters is Hooters but loose the 18 year old hostesses.

I had the absloute worst experience at this Hooters about three months ago. My family and I were visiting the aquarium and went to eat here afterwards, and it was fairly empty. We decided to sit outside because it was nice, and we were seated by the hostess. We waited.........and waited..............and waited............AND WAITED for our waitress to come. After about 20 minutes, she finally took our drink order. and then we waited for our drinks to come........and waited........and waited........our drinks finally came. She sat them down, didn't say anything, and walked off without even asking if we were ready to order. This is where I began to get angry. We waited for approxamitley 20 more minutes for her to come and take her order, and she never came. I could see her standing inside near the soda machines and she was goofing around and chatting with other waitresses, oblivious to her paying customers outside. She was working her other tables outside, and completley ignoring our table. I finally got mad enough to go talk to the manager, telling him that I was going to leave and that I was upset with the service. His reply was (and I quote), "So? You can see we're pretty busy. She'll get to your table when she has time." (they weren't even full. Needless to say, I immediatley walked out, gathered my things and left. This was the worst service I have received to date, and unacceptable service by the waitress staff and the manager. I will never go back to this Hooter's again. Did I catch it on a bad day? Maybe, but it ruined it for me.

They have good grilled cheese? And the beer specials are pretty good? Well, Hooters is Hooters is Hooters. I'm not impressed. I'm not disappointed. I just am. And that's about all I can come up with to say.

Terrible service. Waitress took my groups order and never came back. Had to find a manager for refills and a check. Manager did not care about bad service because she said they were busy. Won't go back.

I like to go sit outside before a Lightning game and have a drink and some wings. The girls are always really nice and the food is good. The atmosphere is great. I wish more was happening at Channelside.

Have had better. The food just didn't taste right. I know I've had better at other Hooter locations. Service was so-so. Probably won't visit again unless the group wants to, there are better options while in town.

Ok, it's a Hooters. What do you really expect? The food is good. The location is GREAT! I love Channel Side! Great views of the water and in a great part of Tampa.

Bullshit bullshit bullshit!!! I've been to many hooters restaurants in my day but never one like this. Off top the damn place close at 12am on a damn saturday!!??!! What the hell is that bout I never seen that before. Then when we walked in my cousin asked whats the wait and the chick said "we dont have any empty tables" dummy we didn't asked you that!! Then she never put his name on the list which pissed me off because no matter if you dont have any seats available now you still need to take names because eventually folks are going to leave. So after leaving and coming back soon as we walk back in the chick says john are you ready? We said yes but we wasnt who she was looking for but hey we was hungry lol. but we get seated and order....wow the worst fuckin food every from hooters!! The wings was harder the damn plate it was on. The drinks was shitty.the only thing that was good were the tater tots but hell my niece can make some banging tots and she's seven yrs old. Never again. And I left plenty things out because I'm tired of typing haaa

It's Hooters. I only reluctantly go there if I'm forced to meet someone else because they LOVE the chicken wings. The chicken wings are hairy too.
