Gameworks has greatly improved itself since my last visit. Although many of the arcade game that used to be there have been replaced with air hockey, UFO catchers, and ticket games. All the games there seemed to be working on this visit. They still have the DDR arcade systems which can you occupied for plenty of time. They introduced some new arcades there too. I saw several updates to games and played a sit down shooter, similar to the old Jurassic Park, which was really fun. There is actually more SEGA stuff now, the air hockey with Sonic the Hedgehog and basketball hoops were something that weren't there before and adds a little more flavor to the place. Maybe because they are trying to reel in kids a little more now. The staff looks friendlier than before and the crowd improved greatly. Gameworks has done me proud and hopefully with time they will be able to get more arcades and go back to how they were once upon a time.

What a joke. How this place stays in business I will never understand. Arrived at 8:30pm with a lady friend. We waited the time out playing their broken and out dated games waiting for happy hour at 10.... Half off appetizers and well drinks right?... 10 o clock hits only too be told that appetizers are not available bc they are cleaning the friar. Basically the staff just wants to Go home early. Why advertise the specials if it's not available? Every aspect of my experience was sub par. JOKE.

I enjoyed it. My 1st-grader enjoyed it. Enough square footage to occupy you for at least a couple hours, plus food onsite to extend the visit further. (Don't expect heaven on a plate at Jax Grill, though. It's only a means to an end.) Love that this is a paperless and token-less experience: One card holds all your funds AND your ticket count. Clean space, well staffed, machines in good condition, and overall good, safe, cool, indoor environment. Oh, and open crazy late for kids too!

It seems to be a theme with Tampa Bay arcades. Old games. The pizza was pretty good for what it is. You aren't going to get gourmet food at an arcade, but it's decent enough. I've definitely had worse. We had good service from the staff whenever we needed something. Because of the lack of game variety (all driving and shooters), I probably won't be coming here very often.

My Fiancé, me and other couple that we know came here for the evening because we found a groupon that was a great deal. To get things started we had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a supervisor to come override so we could use the promotion once we got everything situated we got to walk around and the first thing I noticed was it is a lot smaller than I thought it would be. It had a lot of fun games but most of them needed to be upgraded the screens where so dim you could barely see what you where doing. They could make this place much better and a lot more fun if they kept things updated. Overall we had fun but I expected a lot more.

DONTEZ IS THE MAN! But this place is garbage. They have an E-Ticket system that is completely borked and doesn't really count all your winnings. It has only a handful of actual arcade games that aren't shooters/racers. But if you came for drinks with your children they have 2 bars and crummy food. Good luck. I'd rather drive 2hrs to Dave and Busters.

Well came to watch some nfl and they only have three receivers so they can only play 3 games. We had some appetizers the potato skins and nachos. Potato skins were good. The nachos were lacking fullness. Very skimpy on toppings. Played 3 games on pool. We still have more games to play. Tv quality was okay not the best and they are all probably 32". Audrey are server was a rockstar!

We had a lot of fun playing video games, winning tickets for prizes, competing in multiplayer pac man and in various carnival type games. I had won a gift certificate but it had expired. The manager, Aldon, told us they would be happy to honor it. We enjoyed ourselves a lot. The burgers were very good and meaty on a delicious toasted roll with excellent toppings. We will definitely be back. Bring your youthful energy and enjoy their specials. Some pretty good deals and a lot of entertainment and wholesome fun for the money. All the staff we met were enthusiastic and helpful. Great place for the young and young at heart.

First off, the staff were so amazingly friendly! I felt like they truly cared about making our experience at Gametime the BEST! We won all kinds of tickets and prizes and were running arund right alongside the kiddos! Since our first visit, we have been back three times and still more to come! I love this place because you can sit and relax or get up and go by playing games, eating or drinking a beer or soda. This is unlike other arcades I have been to because the staff always are attentive and as soon as a game breaks down, they are on it to fix it. I really really enjoy going here and I guess I love seeing everyone in the building with smiling faces and happy kids running around. My favorite game is Spin and Win and it's only 1 token. I also love the fact that your tickets are stored electronically on a card as well as your tokens. This makes it so much easier to save the tickets and come back another day to play. Great place. Will be back!

Kids would enjoy Gametime but for me it was okay....Lack of game machines and bad food. Well I guess I am wrong for hoping a good food from a game arcade place. The price is not bad....One food item and one hour unlimited play for $15. That does not include the ones with prizes and tickets. They do have another combo with one food, hour unlimited play, and $10 prize game for $21. But I would say go for $15 without the prize games....because they place everything impossible to get. It sucks that they do not validate parking and you have to pay $5 because most of the time you won't find a spot. But if you are bored and nothing else to do, go to Gametime with your friends.

Next time I'll drive nearly two hours away to Dave and Buster's in Orlando. This place was horrible. We waited over an hour for a chicken sandwich and a quesadilla. When we finally got our food, it was cold from sitting on the counter as our waitress chatted with other staff. In fact the entire staff was horrible. We spent more time waiting for service than playing any games. The prices are ridiculous, any game of chance costs 10 credits. You barely win coupons for most of the stuff. The arcade itself is pretty small, there isn't much to choose from. The location is more suitable for drunk adults heading to the clubs in Ybor, with no parking close by.

Gametime is nothing but a wanna be Dave and Busters. OK if your looking for something to do when there is nothing to do. Personally I could find better ways to pass my time. If you have kids it might be a bonding experience, however. The food is not the best and the soda was flat...at least what they served me. I was not impressed and have no desire to go back.

This place has only progressively gotten worse; its really sad that its the only arcade around other than Malibu which is a drive away. I've been going for over six years since it was GameWorks to play Dance Dance Revolution mostly. They used to have two machines (SuperNova and Extreme) but now they only have a barely audible and insensitive Extreme machine. It's ridiculous how little care they have for their customers. They really never have but like I said, its just gone down!! I wont be going back (I have spent hundreds of dollars there) unless they get a new DDR machine, ITG machine or I want to take a child there. They have decent arcade games but they are kinda pricey and dont expect anything but refried freezer food from the "restaurant" menu. Get new DDR machines Gametime! wtf!

Our plan was to grab a bite and some drinks, and then shoot some pool. I'm not sure why they even have a restaurant. The food was mediocre. I split nachos with a friend and half of the cheese wasn't even melted. Also got a chicken quesadilla. That was better than the chips, but it wasn't anything special. Our waitress was very nice and friendly (I'm guessing my friends are regulars because she knew them well), but it took a long time to get drinks and even longer for the food. I'd definitely skip the restaurant end of things for a better option in the area.

OK.OK. I have been to both D & B and Gameworks, now normally I am a D&B hater, straight up. It's so ghetto in Chicago you'd swear you were in a Twista Video, but with little kids, who may or may not possess firearms. Well I found my gaming mecca in Gameworks in Schaumburg, which was clean, awesome, and everything was beautiful: lollipops and rainbows. They had good games and everything was clean and in WORKING order. Well, I went to Gameworks in Tampa, and I find out, not so hot.....Their game selection sucked, the ski ball machine was broke, and they only had one floor of games, not to mention no beat the weasel ticket games (please don't construe this for some creepy sexual innuendo...) I didn't even bother to try the food, because everything else sucked so bad. As a matter of fact, the only reason why it got two stars, is because a midget was working the front counter, this made the trip worthwhile, because I love me some little people.

I went here for a work function, they did a buffet style mexican thing. The chicken and beef were tough and had no flavor and the whole thing was just kinda blah. Then we went into the gameworks area, and it kinda smelled funny. They really need to work on keeping up the place. It is okay for the games, but I don't think I will be frequenting this place.

  • Stephanie N.

This place is just like any other D&B, but maybe just slightly smaller. Still great for games and of course the indy racing game as mentioned by Carlos. I really like the funky air hockey game they have too that spits out multiple pucks - its crazy but fun :) Also really (as always) like the shotgun game.

  • Anousha H.

I will comment on the games and the establishment only as I know better not to order previously frozen and deep fried food here. We usually go to dinner before or after coming out for a few games. They have definitely updated the inside from what it used to be. It gets a little warm inside which I think has to do with the machines or they keep it that way so you buy more drinks!! Speculating over here. I have never seen the staff actively whipping equipment down or anything so I come prepared with my own hand sanitizer. I think they can definitely do a better job at keeping the place clean. My favorite game has to be the zombie apocalypse! The plastic gun is not too heavy for my lady arms & the terrible graphics make me giggle lol

Well I'm a huge fan of arcades and was very excited to learn of this place especially since it was a rainy day. What a disappointment. To start with the smell of urine and just uncleanliness hits you as soon as you walk in, not pleasant. The cards you buy are for time and not credits so me and my wife just wanted to play a few games but had to buy two cards for an hour each for $30, which seems a bit much for the casual person but I thought well at least I won't have to worry about the card running out. But there's also what is inherently wrong with the system when everyone has unlimited play we couldn't hardly play any games. The selection is poor compared to my experiences with Gameworks and Dave and Busters, and good luck playing what you want. Several games were inoperable too which was frustrating. The restroom reeked like a public roadside restroom. And the worst part was the service I have to say which is the main reason I won't be coming back. The bar staff was so poor, first time the bar wasn't busy, standing there while two were talking and one was cleaning glasses. I'm staring at the one and he looks at me a couple times and finally asks if he can get us a drink. The draft beer we wanted was out apparently, so we got a yuengling and vodka cranberry (I will say they are very generous in there pour, a lot of vodka). Second time we went to get a drink same thing, 3 of them were chatting and one washing glasses. Make eye contact and nothing, stood there for at least 3 minutes before the guy washing glasses is staring at me and I just asked can you help us? And he does. Ridiculous no one asks to help us. Drink prices weren't bad. Overall this left a bad taste in my mouth, seems like a missed opportunity in such a great location.

Unimpressed. Did not eat here so I cannot judge the food, but the plates I saw being served did not entice me to order anything. My hubby & I ordered drinks at the bar area & service was ridiculously slow. At least 25% of the games we tried to play were "out of order". Every game we did play felt like it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. Don't see us returning any time soon.

We have been here 3 times, games are fun but the food and service here is SOOO terrible, which is a shame because we live nearby with a 10 yr old and this could be a regular go-to for our family, instead now we eat at the Tampa Bay Brewery and walk down here for a game or two afterward.

I'm going to go against the grain here and declare to the world I LIKE THIS PLACE. I have been going here for a few years and use it as a starting point for Ybor nights... I mean, what's not to like about an arcade with a bar? This place is fun, and you can never go wrong taking a date or a group of friends here when you can't decide what bar to go to or what to do on a weekend night. We purchased the Yelp $20 for $10 deal and I highly recommend that anyone else wanting to visit does the same. Actually I think everyone in my four-person party did, which was a great idea because we had plenty of points to spend between us. The people working here were friendly and accomodating. And here's the best part... Chris and I won eight stuffed animals. Yes, EIGHT. Pretty much on every try with that darn claw machine. Not bad... although in usual fashion, a sad-looking little girl appeared at one point and after I gave her the pink elephant we had just procured, she proceeded to follow us around for the remainder of the night demanding we put money on our cards and win her more animals. Oh well. I can't resist cute children. And the rest of the stuffed animals went to the dog. That's what you do with cheapo arcade winnings... In addition, they have some fun games like Skeeball and basketball. Maybe not as many games as other arcades but to me it was fine. They had no problem crediting our account when the games didn't work or got stuck. Best part of the night: Chris hit the jackpot on one game and won 1200 tickets! We spent it all on candy. Ignore the bad reviews and give Gametime a try. You might be pleasantly surprised.

This was our first time visiting a Game Time. We went on a Monday night so it wasn't too crowded. When you first walk in there is a bar and seating by the kitchen. There was music playing. No one was there to great us so we picked out our own table. We ordered pizza and nachos. While waiting for the food to arrived, the music suddenly went to an unbearable level. After a while the waitress came over and said that our food was probably ready, but she couldn't hear anything so she was going check. I agreed the music was to loud and asked if she could turn it down. She said the person in charge wouldn't listen to her so i should talk to him . So my husband went over to talk to the supervisor. (He was playing one of the games). They turned the music down. When the food finally came, the waitress asked if we wanted plates. This was such an odd question to me. Naturally we said yes, but never received any plates or napkins. The service was questionable, but the games were fun and my son had a good time. The food was ok, typical bar food. If we come back, we won't eat here, just play games. There were only a few games out of order and there was a variety of games to play.

I went here with my daughter this past weekend. We walked up to the customer service counter and I told the guy we wanted the 16.99 promo where you get 1 food item off the menu and 1 hour of unlimited game play. He didn't seem like he knew what he was doing and suggested we go to the restaurant and talk to the guy in there about getting us the swipe cards as he used to work at the customer service counter. This threw me off as odd to begin with but we went and sat down and ate our pepperoni pizzas which were very good to be honest. Our server was very friendly and helpful when I asked how the timed game cards worked. He said the time started when we first swiped our cards into a game. He was very attentive to our drink refills and making sure we were okay during our meal. We paid and left the restaurant. We first played the big Sega Indy Racing Game. I couldn't figure out how to adjust my seat so it was a bit uncomfortable playing while reaching for the pedals. While playing I realized that this was the same game I had played maybe 15 years ago, the graphics were old and on top of that my 'car' wasn't moving like i saw the others moving. We then went to play the Jurassic Park shooting game. That was probably the best shooter game in the whole place. We also played the Transformer one and a few other shooters that i do not remember the names. I did notice some of the guns in those shooter games did not recoil/shake/vibrate like they should have. We played the Terminator shooter game and again noticed my gun did not recoil/shake/vibrate and it also did not shoot properly when i pulled the trigger. So not all the equipment worked properly which was a shame. All in all though we did enjoy ourselves. Honestly however i do not know how one could play for more than one hour in there as the selection is very limited and since many of the games are the type where you earn/win tickets or prizes and the time based cards don't work on those, that limits the selection of games even more.

STAY AWAY!!!This place is horrible. We got there and nobody was around to sit us down to eat until like 10 minutes later. The lady sat us down and we waited like 30 minutes before ordering our drinks. Then after we got our drinks the waitress left and didn't even ask were we ready to order until 15 minutes later. We ordered wings and a pizza. The food was cold, the wings weren't cooked all the way and the pizza was still doughy. The sad part was they weren't even busy at all. They were busy talking to each other, rather than their customers. You had to finish eating before you got the game cards. The whole staff there sucks. They only got a star for the games because they were okay.

Very excited to bring my daughter here for her birthday. Seemed like a great place to relax and unwind while having some fun. We entered to an empty reception area with a sign directing us to the bar if we wanted game cards or food. We went to the bar, no one there either. We stood there and waited and a very pleasant young woman greeted us, offered us suggestions as to which game card to get. She processed the order and walked away, I had to yell "hey, we want to order drinks too". To which she replied "oh, sorry I didn't realize". Not to nit pick, but you're a server, you should ALWAYS ask if there is anything else. Not too big a deal but it still is just serving 101. We began to play games. Then we realized that about 1 in 3 of the games was malfunctioning in some way. We tried to find a manager but could not even find an employee. So, we continued playing, making note of all the games that ripped us off. Then we needed to get more drinks, we stood at the same bar we were at when we entered, my credit card receipt was still sitting on the bar and we could not find anyone to serve us. We went back to playing, finally found someone to help us and got credit for the games, along with an explanation of why those particular games were malfunctioning. Overall, a very bad experience. Like a two bit carnival out in the sticks, not a high end arcade in downtown Tampa. We won't be bad, that's for sure!

My grandson is visiting me from Jersey. I don't have to tell you guys the weather has been miserable. It's been raining for 40 days and 40 nights! Ok, I'm exaggerating......barely! This kid has been stuck in the house for 2 weeks. I'm feeling badly, I'm thinking he's never going to visit me again. I looked on the Internet for fun indoor activities and I found Game Time in Ybor. We went on Thursday about 3pm, there were a few kids there which is fine by me. My grandson had the run of the place and he enjoyed himself. There's the usual types of arcade games. There's also a restaurant and bar but we didn't eat there. My grandson is a picky eater, not a foodie like his grandma. So if you need a cool place to take your kids......Game Time is the spot.

The Yelp check in offer is a "High Five" at the time of this writing and last week on 4th of July. I was able to opt for a fist bump. The game time attendants and manager wasn't aware of the offer, but we all had laughs about it. I think the offer should be upped to something valuable in game time...like extra game credits? We came here after a dinner at Christino's across the street to kill time before going to channelside to watch fireworks. We had a 5 kid crew and they all had a blast. Hubby even shot baskets over and over. At 7pm-8:45pm place was quite dead, but it was a holiday. This was great for the kids because they never had to wait for a game they wanted to play. We will come back and maybe even have a meal. If the food is good it'll definitely get an extra star or 2.

Ok these 4-5 Star reviews have to be employees or people paid to upvote. I will be detailed and clearly outline my experience so everyone can understand what to expect when coming here. I went here on a thursday evening where they do the unlimited play from 7PM-close for $10. Upon arriving I noticed the place completely lit like the club when they are closing down and trying to get everyone to leave. Not a huge deal it's just arcades are normally dimly lit for a reason. I also noticed it was dead which I thought was surprising given the awesome unlimited deal. After beginning to play the games I understood why. MANY OF THE GAMES ARE BROKEN. Let's start with the shooters: Terminator Salvation. My partner and I played this game and not only was the aim off but only one of the guns would not recoil/click/react when pressing the trigger. We moved on to another shooter same problem. We played Transformers, DeadStorm Pirates and a similar (sit down and aim)Vampire game. The aim and controls were not properly calibrated so it basically would not fire where you pointed the gun. On to the Toss/basketball/football games: Next we played basketball hoops. Two of the machines had broken card swipes where you could not even play and the one we settled on kept giving points even if no baskets went in. We eventually discovered that if you just hit the basketball on a certain point on the rim you would get points for a completed shot. The football game was ok although a little beat up. The beer pong game was cool but boring since that's REALLY a game you don't really care to play virtually. Racing Games: There's a HUGE 6 car Sega Formula 1 racing game toward the left of the game room. Anyone that's a gamer knows that if it's sega it's gonna be OLD since sega stopped making those arcade games a very long time ago. It's certainly time for that game to go and be replaced with something more recent. The graphics are extremely old and the controls like most of the other games are not properly calibrated so you spend more time being frustrated than actually having fun. There is also a WRC rally game which was fun in all honesty although the controls seemed a little realistic, and not too arcade-y. I'm a 32 year old nerd from the old school arcade era so I'm very forgiving when it comes to arcades these days since I remember blowing 20-30 bucks back in the day all in quarters on games I only got to play for minutes at a time but gametime just needs to step their game up. All in all I would say this wasn't a good experience at all. Way too much of the gaming machines are Outdated and broken which for a place whose main draw is gaming machines kinda kills it. I have went to Dave and Buster's in Orlando before and I can tell you their machines are much better, they all work they way they're supposed to and they have the proper model. If they do not infuse some fresh elements into this place it probably won't be open much longer.

  • Melissa V.

I don't know where all the negative reviews come from but this place was awesome! We got the two hour unlimited game card for $23 each and it was probably the most fun I've ever had at any arcade in my life! I played Jurassic Park, Transformers, Werewolf and House of The Dead 4 and they were so awesome. My favorite was the Werewolf one because the seat moved along with the game so it wasn't a sit game the whole time. Also, the race car games move as you drive too. I have nothing but great things to say about this place and I am so glad I got to go and experience it! Loved it! Definitely plan to go back and bring friends and family!

I was meeting some friends for an early mid-week dinner in Ybor City, and was able to skip out of work early that day. Since I had about an hour to kill, I wandered over to GameTime in Centro Ybor at the corner of 8th Avenue and 17th Street to blast the crap out of some aliens before dinner. GameTime is an arcade attraction filled with video games, multiplayer games, ride-simulators, and the opportunity to win tickets that can be cashed in for prizes. There's also a restaurant with a full bar inside, and in the evening this place gets crazy busy with teens and mouthy Ybor d-bag toads. But during the day this is serious geek Heaven for those of us who need to get in our shoot-em-up Terminator fix. GameTime is brightly-colored, noisy, and a heck of a lot of fun if you enjoy these type of arcade game places. I checked out various video games that let me take out my frustrations on aliens and zombies and a criminal who looked surprisingly like a former boss. It's the simple things in life that give me so much pleasure. :-) I wandered around the inside, looking over the place, and watching the people having fun, before settling in front of one of the video terminals with my official alien blaster weapon to gleefully mow down an army of blood-sucking reptiles. Die you scumbags!!!! Muhahahaha! Before too long it was time to walk over to the restaurant and meet my friends, so I handed my string of tickets to the guy next to me who was struggling to kill the aliens. After a quick fist-bump and nod of respect, the guy was back to blasting away with his gun with some new-found confidence. My work here is done! I'm sure a psychologist would have something to say about my need to shoot moving targets on the screen, but what the heck........it was a great time!

I recently went to Game time for a work party. I enjoyed the atmosphere. They reserved the bar area for our large party. The bar area was a nice open area with pool tables. The service in the bar was quick and the servers were pleasant. We had a buffet and the food served was good. We enjoyed salad, rolls, rigatoni, potatoes, prime rib, chocolate cake and cheesecake. We also enjoyed time in the game room. It was a little crowded but that's expected for a Saturday night. We had a good time playing almost all of the games at least once. It appeared some of the games needed to be reset or fixed. They could probably be more prompt on repairing these. I enjoyed my visit to Game time and would definitely come back for a game night. I would recommend for kids, dates or a night out with friends.

I really enjoyed coming to Game Time! The atmosphere is really fun and the game selections they have are cool too. My favorite game is one where you pretend as if you are on a roller coaster ride and it actually makes you feel as if you're in it. You can choose different scenarios and be in a cave roller coaster ride, etc. (That scenario is the best). This is a good place to hang out with friends while you're down in Ybor. The price isn't bad either. The cons though are that. ... 1. The staff is not the friendliest or helpful. I stood at a booth waiting to be helped so I could start playing games for well over 10 minutes. Staffers even saw me and walked away. 2. The game selection could be better. They need more games because you can easily get bored after about an hour. I do recommend this place still if you like arcade games, skip ball, and food. It's fun and I will still return. Just don't expect this place to be as full of games or as entertaining as Dave & Busters.

When I was visiting my family a few weeks ago we were walking around Ybor and decided to stop in for a drink (and some games). I have not been to a place like this in years so I had no idea what to expect. I was exited to play some games so that I could win my nieces some cool toys. I had to ask around to figure out what to do and how to get started. I was instructed to go to the counter to put some money on a card. The card is what we used to pay for the games and "e-tickets" were uploaded to the card as well. After playing games back in my day we receive real tickets and now they just are electronic???? That's no fun! As I was playing games I didn't know how many tickets I had earned and I had no idea how much was left on my card, I was so confused. This is much different for someone like me to comprehend. Eventually we were out of money on the card and decided to pick out prizes. This was a hot mess to figure out. There were only 2 people working the counter and there were probably about 10 kids (and me) waiting to cash in for our prizes. I had to have patience for real. I figured out the amount of tickets I had by asking the girl to swipe my card and then I picked out prizes quickly just so I could get out. Not sure I'll go back...this is not a place for someone my age to go.

Over this past week I visited GameTime for the first time in Ybor City with a few of my coworkers. I bought a Unlimited play card because they were running a special and was able to play all night until close. The games were fun and we really enjoyed ourselves running around like kids! After a while we all decided to get a few drinks and that's when things went downhill. I'm pretty sure the bartender was high or something. If she wasn't missing from the bar, she was moving so slowly. And if we asked for anything she acted like it was the end of the world. There was about 8 people at the bar so I don't know what the hold up was. If I rated it on that experience alone I would suggest to never go there. But, after my husband and kids heard I went they decided we would make a family trip there this weekend. It was a Saturday night so it was a lot busier than it was when I went previously. While our children played me and my husband sat at the bar and was nervous about what type of customer service we would receive when a wonderful little lady greeted us with a big smile and took care of us the whole night. She was the only bartender so she seemed very busy but if we needed anything she got to us immediately. We didn't eat there because we had dinner before going, but the entrees I saw coming out looked great. My daughter had a couple issue with game taking her credits so we informed the bartender (Chea, I believe it was) and she called for help. A manager (Terrance) was there in less than a minute and was very quick and polite in taking care of our issue. At this point I would say Gametime as a arcade is great! But, customer service is 50/50.

Haven't gone in a while. Drove an hour to have a nice lunch with kids and a little game play. Going back to chucky cheese was the best part of the trip. Walked in said hi to waitress who happen to be at front. After being ignored, I walk in and am told to eat at bar she has 5 tables and is too busy already. Hmm OK f'u too. Since I had to use the facilities, took the kid to the bathroom. OmG it smelled like it looked shit and piss stagnant in the stalls. Piss all over the floor. Disgusting. We went to Wesley chapel, chucky cheese it was. Will never do this place again. Too bad as I was also scoping to book a corporate event. Haha for get that one.

I wanted it to be good. I recently went to Dave and Busters and had a BLAST. Unfortunately it's not the same vibe at Gametime. Even though we had the place to ourselves, most of the games were not able to 2 player connect. After we spent $40 or so, we had a acquired just less than 1000 tickets. Odd, at Dave and Busters 1000 tickets bought me all kinds of cool stuff. There was nothing special here, and the ticket prices were WAY overpriced. We had dinner in the restaurant to take advantage of the "spend $ in the restaurant and get that on a card" promo. Too bad that promo stopped at 7pm and we had ordered at 7:06pm. So we tried to enjoy our over-priced microwaved food, but they couldn't even get our orders right, and our appetizer was brought out after our meals. Considering we were the only people in the restaurant, it's not like they were busy. I thought this would be a wonderful way to spend our 5 year anniversary. But we will probably never go back. It's not worth the hassle of parking, and after dropping $100 on it all, I'd have much rather done any other number of things in Tampa.

We live in ybor and like to give business to local merchants. Too bad this place is never consistent. The wait staff is always different and now the nachos have changed. My husband loves the old version.....bring them back! The games are expensive and the wait staff seems more interested in chatting with each other then with customers. This place has tons of potential. Just obvious needs good management. Oh, the music is not very family friendly.

No wifi for guests/parents. .. ? In such a mobile world. U r not allowed to keep a tab. .. had to order and pay 4 different times in space of 90 min... ? Each time kids got thirsty, hungry, etc. Unfriendly staff....good luck in getting a smile or friendly word from bartending staff... whats going on? No wonder the place is empty in the middle of summer vacation. Agggh

My husband loves arcade games, especially claw machines. So, we decided to check out Game Time to get his fix. Unfortunately, Game Time fell short. We went on a Thursday for the $10 unlimited play from 7p-12a. After about three hours of playing, we became pretty bored. My card didn't work most of the time and you can't win tickets with the unlimited play. When my card did swipe, most of the games functioned. They have a decent selection of motion games. We found the Indy car racing to be the best. The claw machines were expensive, about 10 credits ($2.00) or more for each. The prizes from the machines or the ticket counter were nothing special. We didn't try the food or drink while we were there. So, I won't say much about that. Although, the bar staff were really friendly and helpful. Location is okay, the music was not that great (mostly country but this is florida). Overall, two stars. Won't go back again.

Pretty cool place. All the people there are top notch. The facilities are really cool and i would definitely go back. The game room is awesome, spent most of my time in there and had a blast. The food was also above average. I wouldnt hesitate in going back.

Any arcade that doesn't have a Pinball Machine or Galaga ISN'T an arcade! The games I did play were mostly broke! This place sucks...don't bother!

Lame as all hell. I was there for a friends birthday on a saturday night, they told her they were open till 2 A.M. They shut the games down at midnight and the bartender was m.i.a. As soon as that happened. All of the games were really overpriced and the game selection was crap. This is the place to go if you want to be lied to overcharged and have a crappy time. Would not recommend to anyone you like.

Haven't been here since it was gameworks, there were a lot more games before. I can probally say it compares to Dave and Busters in Orlando. We went at midday during the week and it was dead, but startied picking up before we left. Some games were shutoff, I think it would be hard to get on a game if it got busy? I would go on the week day afternoon. There aren't many of the same titles available. The food looked like grill entrees, I think I saw a sign that said a burger, bag of chips, drink and like 10 tokens for $14.99 but can't be sure. Let's just say I would not eat there. They should put more games in there, i didn't see but maybe one newer title. Many games were from the old game works. I did like the Rambo game. The place is way overstaffed for such a slow weekday. They need to handle their costs better. I hope they get better in the future as there is not much competion out there.

OMG. So bad. Never go here. Games are all shooter type & the food is not even bar quality. I even trashed the unused part of my game card. Not coming back.

Full disclosure: My husband and I don't have kids, so when we come, we usually sit at the bar for food and drinks before playing the arcade games. The game selection is sort of hit and miss... most of the systems are older and aimed at younger kids, and it took several months for one of the bigger sit-down enclosed games to get repaired before we could try it. However, we go on Sundays before we go to the movies and sit at the bar. The bartender who's usually around at that time, Henry, is great. (Actually every staff member we've dealt with has been friendly, we just see Henry the most.) They have a decent selection of liquor and beer, but surprisingly, the food here is pretty good too. Admittedly, we've only ever gotten the sampler platter (wings, sliders, and southwest eggrolls), and the chicken quesadilla, but, well... I can honestly say the chicken quesadilla here is probably the best I've had. Well seasoned, grilled peppers, generous chicken and cheese and well-cooked besides. I guess other people might have different tastes and expectations, but to be frank... this is an arcade. For what it is, at least on all the occasions we've been, the food is simple, but above average and prepared well.

This place can barely be called an arcade. I came here with a friend hoping to find some classic arcade games like Gauntlet, or even just a simple pinball machine. We found nothing of the sort. Short of House of the Dead and air hockey, there weren't any classic arcade games. What gives? I was fully prepared to throw down some serious coin for hours of play on Gauntlet or even some old NeoGeo games. Hell, I'd have been satisfied with Mortal Kombat, but I found nothing of the sort. I left without spending a dime.

This is a pretty fun place. They added a lot more games about 6 months ago. They have a special day of the week where you can pay cheap entry and play unlimited arcade games for a few hours.

I would give Gametime 4 stars because it's a really fun, unique place to pass the time. Can't think of anywhere else in Tampa that I can fairly inexpensively whoop some zombie ass with my husband (Zombie games are the best, duh). I 'm deducting a star because quite a few duo games had one side out of order. Lame. I'm not skilled enough to be a solo zombie slayer quite yet, so I'm going to need Gametime to get with it and fix "player 2" so I don't get eaten alive by flesh hungry maniacs in the first 2 minutes. Greatly appreciated, Your zombie killing friend & patron

Would have been awesome if you want to wait for a beer for 20 minutes and still never get it.. Forget about getting food apparently nobody works there maybe they should hire some employees who will work.. Party of 3 so annoyed we left with absolute disgust... Don't waste your time you will only be aggravated on lack of management in an establishment....

Great ticket prices. Great selection. Very clean. Only problem some of the card operators were a bust.

A Chuck E Cheese for adults. I gave it two stars because its in YBOR and a close bar to drink your sorrow of wasting an hour of your life playing table hockey can somewhat be rationalized.

Seemed so dead but them gain it is in the afternoon on a monday. But it is holiday season though :( that and no employees around. Lack of arcades. Still manages to have fun only because of my family. Definitely a step down since I last came to a game works.

Giant arcade and sports bar combined sounds good and isn't bad really. Non-smoking. TV's small and hard to see by modern standards. Pretty sweet games unless you have a HD gaming system at home.

Expensive and no Hydro Thunder : ) Other than that, if you don't have a budget or specific games in mind... you may like this place better than I.

So I'm glad this is open again (thanks Carlos went back because of your review) That being said the new management haven't made much of a difference. Foods basic and there is really only 1 maybe 2 vegetarian options. Dave and busters seems better given things like the combo meal + games options. About 1 in 5 games we played had something that an attendant needed to tweak and the game selection could be better

If you find yourself eating here, the ribs are worth a mention. Everything else tastes and looks of food service. A recent revamp with several new games may earn this place a second look for locals.

How else can you play drunken skee-ball? An arcade/bar/grill restaurant has something for everyone. Format here is just like Dave & Busters or Gillians (sp?). Drinks are reasonably-priced and well made and the games are reasonably priced. Haven't had the food here though.
