So we we're supposed to go to Red Elephant for dinner, but we realized they were shut down. Found Flippers down the road. We had gone to the one in I Orlando a couple year ago. Let me tell you it's still as amazing as remember. Being cooked on the stone oven makes it amazing. We ordered three different pizzas and the meat one had huge pieces on it. The white pizza was just as good with spinach and tomatoes. We asked for the original crust and it was thin but not too thin and so crispy. Great place, great service

The food is good when there's not a problem, but there is usually a problem. Even when you order online, they still manage to get your order wrong. Tonight was the worst. Our pizza arrived all in one corner of the box, we called to complain, they asked us if we wanted a new one tonight. We said yes. That was an hour ago, they still haven't arrived with it. This will be the last chance. The "suck" level is just too darn high.

I have been addicted to their Toscana bread and Greek salad since the Carrollwood store opened. Always superb...until about a month ago. The last 4 deliveries were cold. Last week EVERY ITEM WAS WRONG! They gave me a credit, tonight I used the credit. My salad is wrong. I call and speak to Nathan. He apologized, but the tone of voice was...I don't care. He will give me another credit. I start to eat the Toscana bread that I ordered w the messed up salad and its not cooked through. The middle is doughy. I LOVED this place. Ordering delivery at least twice per week. I'm sad that the employee turnover now has people whom just have no drive to make customers happy thru food. Sad...

Flipper's is my favorite pizza place. SO good. You have to get fresh garlic on the pizza. Makes an average pizza awesome!

Do not get your pizza from this place or your wings . This place has terrible pizza and wings.

One of the best pizzas I have ever had in the tampa Bay Area! The amount of sauce is perfect. If you're looking for a pizza that has that stringy cheese when you grab a slice out of the pie, this place is it. I had the Hawaiian Specialty 14" and it was delicious. I will be coming here for when I have my pizza cravings!

As far as pizza restaurants go, it was just average. I've been anticipating this place opening up for weeks and finally decided to give them a try. I ordered the tossed salad and the veggie pie. I came on a Monday evening and the restaurant was pretty much empty. It took almost 15 minutes before the salad was brought to the table and it was a pretty basic salad - lettuce, tomatoes, onion and croutons. The pizza arrived at the table hot and fresh. I ordered the 14" and it was plenty for 2 people. I've been to several pizza places in the area and Flippers is better than most.

Good pizza place. They say they use fresh ingredients, and I actually believe that claim. My party got 3 different pizzas, and they were all delicious. The service was a little slow, but not bad. I would come here again.

This is some of the freshest pizza I have had. I am a pizza snob and try every pizza spot around. Flippers is one of the few I consistently go back to. The dough of the pizza is what really sets it apart. You have to get the breadsticks if you go! It tastes very unique, but in a good way. Everything just tastes fresh. First bite you will be like "hmmm", second bite you will say "mmm"

Why 5 stars? (I think Chris works for the competition). Because I think people lose site of a place just doing what it should. Service was prompt and friendly, drinks brought quickly, Bailey was upbeat and though admitting she was new, did a great job. Salad was cold, fresh and crispy, flatbread was just right as a light dinner with the salad, kid friendly with good kids food. Seriously, the food didn't rock your world? It's a local place serving fresh flavorful food that's a nice addition to the area. They do what the sign says. Works for this guy.... Mission accomplished!

My husband and I went here last night for dinner. The restaurant was immaculate. Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. Everything on the menu is made fresh to order. My husband ordered the Asiago pasta with chicken, spinach, and red tomatoes. He loved it. I ordered the Mediterranean chicken personal pizza. It was so delicious. The prices are very reasonable. They also have a nice wine and beer selection. This place is going to be a regular for us without a doubt. I give this restaurant 5 stars!!!

This is my second time here. I had to come back. The first time I came in just to get a drink while waiting to transfer busses. They give free drinks if you dine in, so they gave me a drink for free! I just had to come in again when I had more time and try the pizza. The staff is very nice. They let you know right away that your meal will take 10 to 15 minutes to cook because it's made fresh. Pizza was fresh and very hot. Pepperoni was tasty and the mushrooms were fresh. The pizza had just the right amount of grease dripping down my arm to remind me of the pizza I used to get in NY. This is a good thing.

First time here a few weeks ago, even though we live pretty close by. We went in for lunch. Location: in the shopping center on the north east side of the intersection of Fletcher and Dale Mabry. It is situated to the left of Fresh Market as the corner store. Parking: shared across the other stores. Should be no problem finding one within the parking lot. Service: Was attentive. There was one screw up which I'll talk about later. Plenty of check backs with us on the food and our drinks. Food: We ordered the Italian Tomato Flat appetizer. it comes with Artisan multigrain flatbread, roma tomatoes, olive oil, mozzarella, asiago, and basil. Served with San Marzano tomato sauce. My wife and I fought over the last piece. My wife ordered the personal size margherita pizza and I ordered the medium size Cheese thin size. Just about the time we expected the pizza to show up, the waitress came by and said that the order was miscommunicated on mine and they had made mine as a personal size cheese. I said no problem that would be fine. They brought both personal size pizzas out, we ate, and they then brought out a medium size cheese pizza to take home at no cost. What a great catch. The pizzas were delicious. Returning: sure. we enjoyed.

One of my favorite pizzeria chains from the Orlando area has finally moved west to the Tampa bay region. Flippers Pizzeria has a location on 4th Street in St. Petersburg, and now this newest location on North Dale Mabry in Carrollwood. You'll find Flippers in the Fresh Market / Bed Bath shopping center at the corner of Fletcher and Dale Mabry. This space was previously occupied by a Chase banking center, but there are no leftover stashes of cash hidden in the restaurant -- I already checked. Flippers prides themselves on appetizers, flatbreads, salads, sandwiches, penne pasta dishes; and especially their fresh-made pizzas and calzones which are baked in a 600 degree brick oven. You can order a traditional-style pizza made with 100% whole milk mozzarella cheese & their pizza sauce made with all-natural fresh-packed San Marzano tomatoes, fresh basil and chopped garlic. Your other pizza option is a Neapolitan Thin which is a lighter version of the traditional-style pie. Pizzas can be ordered as a 10" (MyPie), 12", 14" or 16" size. The variety of toppings is huge, and you can choose to build-your-own pizza from their extensive listing of toppings, or you can select one of their pre-designed specialty pizzas. The pizzas are all made fresh, so plan on about 20 minutes before the pizza is delivered to your table. I ordered a 12" Flippers Big Pie which was made with pepperoni, sweet Italian sausage, ham, ground beef, smoked bacon, mushrooms, green peppers, red onions & black olives. Since I planned on taking at least half of the pizza home for leftovers, I also added a traditional tossed salad which was made with shredded Romaine lettuce, Roma tomatoes, red onions, carrots and croutons, and was served with Italian dressing. The salad was very fresh and something nice to nibble on while waiting for the pizza to arrive. The pizza was delicious and over-stuffed with all of those great toppings. Somehow the leftover pizza ended up being donated to the nurses working third shift in the Emergency Department at Tampa General, so I can't comment on the taste of the re-heated pizza but at least I know it went to a good cause. In an area of town filled with numerous pizza restaurants, Flippers will have some challenges separating themselves from the rest of the pack. They have a good history in Central Florida, but are relatively unknown on this side of the state. Their pizzas are very good, and I like the craft beer options on tap to go with your food.

They would easy get 5 Stars had the Online Ordering worked. They aid for over a year that Corporate is working on getting online ordering working for this location. I I were the owner, I would refuse to pay the Franchise fee. It doesn't take that long to get something that important to work. Now for the Awesome part... The FOOD and friendly Service. A+ all the way around. We have NEVER had anything sub-par there. It has always been very good!

Just passing by and remembering our last visit how great the food and the long convo we had with the owner informing us about both restaurants ect. We explain how we would definitely be back as he told us about the happy hour and lunch specials so we stopped in. We were greeted and told there was open setting so we sat at the booth closes to the kitchen. Realizing we had to ketch a move it was 3:44, with only 2 two tops in the whole place and a dirty table behind us gentlemen started cleaning off the table behind us and walked over to the last table walked about carelessly picking up plates looking and picking at them then putting them down I said to my boyfriend what is he doing as we both watched him the entire time slowly but surely made his was to our table. He then asked if we had been there before explaining how everything is made fresh then we ordered two waters he asked if we wanted to start with any appetizers my boyfriend remembered the owner had given us a free coupon for breadsticks on our last visit and went to the car to grab it he went to go ring it in..... I watched once again as he carelessly walked around to the point where my boyfriend had returned with the coupon and no water were there yet. We ordered our food...from the lunch menu like we had planed he walked away then came back and said it ends at for I don't know if you guys are eligible.... Walked over to a girl who just came in for her shift as they talked about what was going on. He then came over said " I know it's not fare but our computers run seven minutes fast. There's nothing I can do" I've been in the service industry for eight years never would I bullshit and do tedious tasks to avoid a table, after me and my boyfriend talked for a couple of mins he was so pissed about how the sever clearly avoided us we left 5 mins before 4

I've been to a Flippers in Orlando for lunch once before and wasn't too impressed. This time around I shared a salad and entire pie with my fiancee. The experience and food was a lot better. Our server was very friendly and checked up on us often, even though we were the only customers in the restaurant on a Sunday noon lunch, I'm sure she would have provided the same amount of attention. Our Italian BLT salad was delicious. The gorgonzola cheese really enhanced the salad with umami flavors. I like how the ranch dressing was mixed in with the salad and not just poured over. As for our pizza we ordered "The Big Pie" which is basically their supreme with a variety of meats and veggies. Best part of the pie was the sauce. I love saucy pizzas and our pie had a lot of sauce. The sauce had a nice sweet flavor that you would get from fresh roasted tomatoes. Flippers is a very nice central Florida pizza chain.

Pizza had lots of flavor, but could have used more cheese. Our waitress brought out our drinks, walked toward our table, and then proceeded to put them down on the table behind us and took someone else's order. That was just weird.

After driving by this joint many numerous times, this is my very first time at a Flippers location! What deterred me from trying this place out among those other times was my central floridian fiance saying it was not up to par. Eh, guess he was wrong! I loveee it and can't wait to eat there again (or order it to go)! We came for lunch, and our waitress was awesome. She had a very happy mood and good work ethic that made our time in the restaurant very satisfying. The ambiance of the place is very refreshing that it doesn't remind you of eating at chuckie cheese. We started off with the Italian BLT and ended with their 16" Big Pie. One may think the Italian BLT would have their housemade Italian dressing, but instead they use ranch. The Italian part comes from the Prosciutto crisps & gorgonzola used on the salad. Overall the salad was great and it was not drenched to the brim in dressing. You can request to have the dressing on the side, or if you need more dressing they will bring more for you. Flavor-wise it reminded me of a california cobb salad. The Big Pie contains: pepperoni, sweet Italian sausage, ham, ground beef, smoked bacon, mushrooms, green peppers, red onions & black olives. Also, you could substitute and item (for free, if its comparable) if you do not like it. It takes awhile before the pizza comes out though, but it was a good wait as we had salad to munch on before the deliciousness appeared. Normally, I am not a thin crust fan. From past experiences, I have hated thin crust pizza. Reason was because I love sauce, and thin pizza and lots of sauce is a rare find (or maybe I am just unlucky). Also, I hate the greasiness a majority of pizzas have. However, flippers seals the deal. We got the traditional style pizza. It was thin. There was lots of sauce (made with all-natural fresh-packed tomatoes, fresh basil and chopped garlic). And it was not an all out grease war...AND we got leftovers! Happy dance indeed. Would I recommend this specialty pizza? Yes I would. Our waitress noted that it will be cheaper if you choose one of the specialty pizzas and substitute something rather than make your own pizza as it would be more expensive. Also know that they have happy hour specials, and daily specials! Until then, I shall await the next time I eat here :).

Met with some of our friends for Saturday night dinner -- everyone was craving pizza so I turned to Yelp for suggestions on delicious pie in Carrollwood (my Yelp friends have not steered me wrong yet -- thank you). Flippers is located in a strip mall off of N Dale Mabry with ample parking. Walked in and the friendly hostess sat all of us immediately with no wait. First item of the night -- Breadsticks (6 sticks) -- they did not disappoint (drools). Fresh dough baked with garlic butter and topped with Romano cheese. They were delicious. We ordered a large traditional crust and a Neapolitan thin -- I personally liked the traditional crust better. The thin crust got soggy way too quickly. All their pizzas are made with 100% whole milk mozzarella and the sauce is fresh tomatoes, basil and garlic -- it had a slight sweet taste and fresh dough baked in a brick oven. Yum!! Flippers offers more than just pizza. They have a variety of appetizers, flatbreads (served on artisan multigrain), salads, sandwiches, penne pastas, and calzones. Check out their website for more information and hours of operation flipperspizzeria.com We will be back but will stick to traditional crust. Fun evening with good food and friends :)

It would seem that Flippers began in Orlando, but I never visited one while I lived there. We had heard good things about this place and were pleased to find they offer their lunch specials on the weekends as well. Flippers has some unusual pizza options and as a lover of some of the out-there veggies like artichoke hearts and roasted red peppers, I was thrilled. We went with two MyPie size specialty pizzas but were starving so ordered the Mozz Caprese salad as well. The mozz was nothing amazing but was creamy and nicely cold. The tomatoes and arugula were perfect but the real star was the high quality balsamic drizzled around the plate along with a decent quality olive oil. The salad kept us from trying to eat the table and the 15-20 minutes for our pizza passed quickly (props to our server for mentioning that they were slammed and pizzas were taking a little longer than usual). We went with the Flippers Big Pie (just about every meat you could want plus red onions, black olives, mushrooms and green peppers) and were happy they were able to sub roasted red peppers for the standard green ones. We also ordered the California Classic (artichoke hearts, roasted grape tomatoes, red onions, spinach and roasted red peppers) but asked for red sauce rather than the basil pesto sauce. Both pizzas were piping hot and covered in toppings. My favorite part of the Big Pie was that somehow they managed to get the pepperonis up on their sides so they got nice and crispy in the oven. The California Classic was fabulous and the veggies tasted super fresh. My husband is not a fan of crusts but part way through his first slice, he decided I wasn't getting any extra crusts that day. He ate every bite himself and we were both really impressed with how good the crust tasted. Our dining experience was good - the restaurant was clean and comfortable, with a really great music mix playing I was digging. The service was very good - our drinks always kept full and our server was there when we needed him. The only thing I would change was the number of slices on the My Pie size. The pizzas come sliced into 4 slices, but I think I would prefer 6 slices when sharing like we were. The 4-slice method resulted in some monster slices. Overall - GREAT experience and really outstanding pizza. We will absolutely be back!

I came here yesterday with my friend around 6pm. I'm in this area a lot, and I've wanted to try this place and I'm so glad I did. It was amazing! All we ordered was a medium cheese pizza and 2 sodas. We were told that the wait was 20-25 mins. It was so worth it, the pizza was perfect. The service was great, it was a tad bit annoying that we had multiple people coming to our table every 10 mins to check on us, but the food really is what made me click on the 5th star. We spent $18, which is a steal for how great the pizza was. I'm definitely going to be coming back with my husband and daughter. We also asked for ranch dressing to dip our pizza crusts in, and even the ranch was super fresh and made from scratch. Superb place to eat.

This place is usually too busy to handle the amount of customers it has, however, we always have an over the top experience with customer service. I will never mind waiting a bit longer for any service when it's given with a smile. My son loves coming here, so it's been a family spot for pizza nights. Just give yourself some extra time and relax! People forget how to relax sometimes =)

I ordered the Arugula & Prosciutto pizza for carry out. Although the wait time was a little long (about 45 min), it was very well worth it! This is probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had, it tasted really fresh and delicious. The owner also came out to talk to me, and was very friendly. I will definitely return very soon, and will recommend to all of my friends and family.

I stopped in on Sunday at about 1pm while I was waiting for my car to be detailed across the street. Low volume (only about 4 other tables). We were greeted promptly and drinks were delivered quickly, but after 20 minutes, the server still hadn't returned to take our order. We left and went to Burger 21 around the corner.

This place is great! Decided to stop by to check it out, and we liked it so much we came the next day as well! The breadsticks are, and I'm not exaggerating here, the best I've had. Don't expect healthy - they're dripping garlic and butter, but wow. Pizza is freshly made, and they have over a dozen beers on tap. Lots of local. Service was good, the lady checked back often and was smiling and helpful both times we've been here. Eat here!

  • Donna W.

Just had dinner here. Used to be my favorite for the thin, crispy My Pie. They have a new recipe - using too much cheese means pizza is soggy and greasy. Add the obnoxiously loud cook (can't bring myself to call him a chef) and you end up with a very disappointing dinner. I guess Anthony's (2 minutes away) gets my future business. Tonight one star is a stretch!

Brand spanking new and pretty fantastic! This new neighborhood pizzeria has received some nice reviews for their other locations in Orlando and St Pete and we were excited to try it out. In a great location on the NE corner of Dale Mabry and Fletcher right next to the Fresh Market, they were taunting me with their menu of the sweet San Marzano tomatoes and great lunch steals to boot. Although you may feel like you are in a counter service fast food place that is quite contrary to what they are. You do get full table service and outstanding service at that- not only was our waiter Alan on top of his game but other servers were equally as professional, polite and engaging. It's not often that you have other servers stop by your table and compliment your choice of order or politely joke with you when you are taking some cell phone pics of the restaurant. The menu is thorough and boasts of a variety of appetizers, salads (sadly no soups) and two-types-of crust pizza with options galore. They also serve 16 beers on top (no bar here but no need) and a couple of wine selections reasonably priced. Pizza "chains" even smaller ones like this can be hit or miss- and they hit the nail on the head! We love that there are outdoor table options that will come in handy on gorgeous days and leisurely lunches. Their neopolitan crust was crunchy and just the right thickness. They loaded our pizza with fresh mozzerella and ricotta, sausage, salami and garlic...... we were able to easily change up a couple of items on their "vesuvio" pizza and it was really really delicious. The sauce can make or break an Italian restaurant and they definitely got it right. Sweet and just the right thickness mad it easy to dip your bread and crust into. It looks like their lunch specials are going to make this a crowded space once the word gets out.... $3.50 for a salad..... under $6 for drink plus a pizza, $6 calzones, etc. The sizes for regular pizzas for dinner are reasonable and decently priced especially in comparison to competition not too far away. The only (3 little drawbacks) we felt were not being sure when we walked in whether this was a counter service type of place or whether we were to seat ourselves, easily fixable with signage -but they were very quick to seat us regardless. Would love it if they added a simple miestrone soup to their menu - it would go over well for a lunchtime combo or in addition to a dinner pizza. They also need to rethink their to-go/take home packaging. With 3 pieces left -it wasn't quite enough for their large pizza boxes to be wasted and instead the styrafoam box would've meant stacking each large pizza and knowing that the next day we'd have a 3 tiered stuck together single piece to content with. Alan easily gave us pieces of parchment paper to place in between solving the problem, but maybe that should be the standard to bring out going forward or have some foil or smaller pizza boxes on hand. Wonder what they send out with to-go orders for a small individual pizza?? Last but not least, the paper underneath the pizza between it and the pizza serving board was an issue.... it got greasy quickly and stuck to the bottom of the pizza.... there's gotta be a better way. Regardless of these tiny suggestions, this place is a real winner and I'm positive we will be coming here very often. The manager came over and greeted us and again Alan was a real star of a server! I can see coming here with a group and certainly seeing little league teams lined up for a celebration someday here. They did a nice touch adding in the kitchen bar seating for a fast solo meal and a few flat screen tvs that didn't take away from the atmosphere and will certainly be appreciated during football game, etc. They do deliver and are open until midnight at least every night which is another rarity that will be taken advantage of by many. Definitely get there soon, this place will become crowded if they keep up the extremely fresh and well thought out flavor! Can't wait to get back and try the calzones.... stay tuned!

This is my second time ordering from here and I am dissapointed. The salad was great but the pizza was cold, under done, and flavorless. I wish I was writing a better review because they are so close :(

It's okay. Not my favorite place as far as pizza. The pizza was cold, didn`t taste fresh, salad was alright nothing to special. Service could of been better, but overall it was just okay in my book.

Let me start by saying i discovered this restaurant by accident when i got lost in Clermont Florida. I had to get a pizza for my daughter that was moving. i was happy to find anything. then i tasted it and BAHM! I am a believer. So much that when I found that they are located in Carrollwood i was delighted. We have been there twice and have ordered the thin crust and the calzone. I read some other reviews that were negative about this site and wonder if they are talking about the same place? Our server Janio has always been helpful and courteous he really represents the brand well. We are delighted and really cant eat pizza anywhere else. Folks you get what you pay for. This place is awesome!!!! Do It you wont regret it.. GP

Flippers is another pizza chain that I had never heard of. I had seen the Carolwood location and was interested in trying it out. It's a very nice-looking restaurant and still looks new even though it's now August and they opened in January. Our waitress informed us that their best-selling item is their breadsticks and I can see why. You get six very generously sized pieces that have garlic, butter, and cheese on top of them along with pizza sauce for dipping. I really liked them. For $6.50 I was able to get a lunch sized cheese pizza which was a very good size. That also included a fountain drink and they did not charge for refills. I really don't like Pepsi products so I wasn't happy with my drink choices, but that's just personal preference. For $6.50 that is a great deal. The pizza can come either with a traditional crust or thin crust. I went with traditional but I am curious to see what the thin crust would be like. The pizza definitely wasn't the best I've ever had but it was still good and I would order it again. I also want to try their sandwiches. Overall I liked this place.

My family and I came to Orlando a few years back, and after a long day at the water park we were suggested to order from them. OMG was this the BEST on the planet - HAVE TO ORDER THE BREAD STICKS IN GARLIC SAUCE or you will meet St. Peter at the gates and he will not let you in because you must be crazy to have passed them up on Earth!! I'm not kidding! The pizza and breadsticks made our day. So, here we are today, between Nashville and Sarasota FL on vacation, and my husband asks if it makes him a bad person to plan our vacation around Flipper's? I said, "Heck no!" We know we LOVE it! Why not? So tonight we ordered again the breadsticks and pizza -- the breadsticks were AMAZING as we remember (eye roll back in head awesome) but the pizza was a little bit of a let down - not enough sauce (that we asked for extra), and not enough sausage (ditto on the request) but it was still worth it for the sticks. I only wish they had one in Nashville.

Pretty good. Not great. Nice service and good ingredients, but the elements do not come together well or hot enough.

This was absolutely horrible. AND expensive. I wish I could post the picture I took of the pizza. You would laugh your ass off. We will never get their pizza again. Two of us got sick. I called the store and asked for a manager to let them know and they hung up on me. If you are in the Carrollwood-Northdale area, stick to NY Best pizza (in the plaza where Sweet Tomatoes is) They have awesome pizza, and better prices. Even Hungry Howies or Dominoes would have been better than this and at a 1/4 of the price. A two topping pizza and a single serving salad was $32 plus tip.
