Looking for the best burger in town? Here you go! Five guys is amazing!!! Don't you dare have second thoughts of going somewhere else for a good ole american burger. So many ingredients to choose from. I usually get a double patty with the entire top row and half of the bottom. Usually need about 13-14 napkins, but so worth it. The fries... the fries. Cajun fries. Oh dear lord. I don't need to say more. Please try them out! Deliciously seasoned to perfection. Burgers and fries all the way, so yummy!

I wish I could give this store 6 stars. Food was awesome, people were friendly!

  • Bill S.

This is super close to University of South Florida and the burgers, fries, and hot dogs are excellent. The french fries are perfect and there is no need to order a large as they overfill the containers for small and medium orders.

My mom is a nurse at a cardiac rehabilitation center; she is something of an expert when it comes to heart healthy foods. She would make this crystal clear: Five Guys is highly unadvisable for heart-conscientious individuals. I never really went through a typical rebellion stage in my teens, but I feel like every burger I eat at Five Guys is an unintentional rebellion against my wonderful mother. Five Guys is a chain restaurant that ranks high on my list. I love the simplicity of the menu--burgers, hot dogs, and fries. That's it. No other sides, no desserts, no complicated specialty burgers. Beware: if you stuff your burger too full with toppings, it can become dangerously messy. There is a fine line between a whimp who safely eats a plain burger versus a prideful fool who ends up with half of the 17-topping burger in his lap. Order intelligently. Order with foresight. I'm a regular at this location, but I must note that the BEST Five Guys is at the Nationals Ballpark in Washington DC, which is the home of Five Guys. Nothing beats watching a baseball game while eating a Five Guys burger and washing it down with a refreshing Coca-Cola on a hot summer day. Five Guys is a good reminder that heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States (thanks Mom!). But, hey, I'm in my early twenties. I'm giving Five Guys four stars! Go ahead and call it my little rebellion.

5 Guys is a very good burger place. You can get whatever toppings you want on your burger and they are very big. If you order fries, they give you a lot, althoguh it is very greasy. The only bad thing I have to say is that it is very expensive. It is about $5 for a regular burger, other than that it is a good place to try. They also have free peanuts which is a plus!

    (3)
  • David B.

I love their burgers. I always leave with more than enough food. Employees are friendly. Peanuts are always available to eat while your waiting. Fries always taste amazing and a regular size can feed at least 2 people. I love this place and will always be the place I got for a good burger or when I'm very hungry.

  • Chris R.

Very good burger, I like the range of toppings, one thing to note it says fried mushrooms and onions but really they are grilled not deep fried. The fries are really yummy too, maybe cause they are cooked in peanut oil? They have sweet tea but it wasn't as sweet as I like it. Funny how the single patty iis portrayed as a little one but the regular is a double patty even though it doesn't mention it on the menu. Apparently all orders are to go even if you ask for here. Also if you are considering the large fries order the small cause they give you way too many anyways. Also malt vinegar is available for the fries.

  • Matthew C.

Believe the hype. Five Guys makes an awesome burger. The fries, being fried in peanut oil, are unique in their flavor and they're comparable to crack in their ability to get you hooked. The toppings are free, unless you want bacon, and the variety is outstanding. If you haven't tried Five Guys, you must.

It was OK. Not 14.10 for burger, fries and a soda good. Drive down a couple blocks a game Sonic. No shakes either

  • Nat W.

Five Guys is a solid burger chain, where you can get good customizable burgers. Employees are nice and they work hard. My tip is to order "little" fries....there is nothing little about it. I shared with my husband and still could not finish.

Five stars for food! Three stars for price! I do think Five Guys can be a bit pricey, but it's worth it. I usually just get a 'Junior' Cheeseburger (no, not like what you get at Wendy's). A 'Junior' burger is a single patty, a regular cheeseburger is two patties. The fries are delicious but come in such a large size. I wish they had a smaller option available. Located near USF so there's always a young crowd at this spot.

Nice burgers and they give you waaay too many fries. I will come back but not too often though, a bit pricey for my taste.

My wife and I go to Five Guys about once or twice a month. We had been going to the place at Dale Mabry and Fletcher Avenue but that location has closed. The burgers at Five Guys and OK and the portions of fries are HUGE. I like the multitude of toppings that are free and available and they are really necessary. I like a rare, juicy, thick hamburger (Outback, Green Iguana, Smokey Bones, for examples). The burgers at Five Guys, like Steak and Shake, are well done without any juice. The cooks press all the juice out. But, adding tomatoes, sauteed onions and other wet stuff makes a bit of juiciness. Still, there is no comparison with typical fast food. The fries are outstanding.

  • Michael X.

This place does one thing and one thing well; Burgers. That's it, and that ok. Everything else is average at best. An order of fries at this place would be considered an XXL at others. Probably the best fast food burger I've ever had. I wish they would bring back veggie burgers.

    (4)
  • Joanne C.

Uhh... ew? What's the hype all about?? Just a plain burger with all you can add toppings. The toppings are plain and not seasoned at all (like the grilled mushrooms and onions).. The cajun fries are pretty good though. If anyone ever has a chance to taste some In-N-Out burger, you will definitely never look at Five Guys the same ever again. Yeah, at In-N-Out you don't get to choose a bajillion topping choices, but who needs choices when the burger comes delicious anyways?

  • April O.

I hate you and I love you all at once. I hate you because you have managed to crawl down the east coast and miss Gainesville, FL. So uncool. Between the University of Florida and Santa Fe Community College, you'd sell out of food on a daily basis. I love you because Tampa's Five Guys is exactly the same as Fayetteville, NC's Five Guys. An amazingly tasty and unapologetically greasy burger with loads of very good toppings. I'll have to continue searching out my future heart attacks in other cities than my hometown. Curses. (Note to the health-conscious: store is definitely NOT for those with peanut allergies. Average weight of patrons is over 200 lbs.)

Delicious, solid, quality burgers and fries. Not fast food prices but also not fast food taste. Highly recommend!

    (5)
  • Adam W.

Oh baby!! Every time I even think about this delicious, made to order burger, I start drooling. Yes, you will be paying the same price for a burger as your typical fast food meal, but this is much more. On top of that-no really, they literally put extra fries on top of everything once it's all bagged up-they offer spicy seasoned, Cajun fries. It's as impossible to resist as it is delicious. Now go eat here

Nothing like a bag of fries and cholesterol between a bun with cheese... but this is well worth it. I remember feeling sad leaving behind Five Guys when I left ATL to LA, but now that I'm back in Tampa. The eat is on. Alot of food and an okay price. The burgers can be topped with just about anything. Don't forget about the dogs. I think I have the chefs of 5Guys to thank for introducing me to the bacon cheese hotdog. Like chris r. said, a 5Guys regular is a double in reality and a little is a single. Regardless of a large or regular order of fries, you are getting more than you thought. Don't worry about being able to see through the lil brown bag, thats how you know the grease is working. cheers

I had Five Guys at the Brandon Mall before visiting this location one day and I remember trying to pick somewhere to eat and being enticed when I saw their sign and thought of their burgers. I came in and ordered a burger and fries, it put a steep mark into my budget but it was all so good. I needed it just before a night of going out with friends to a house party. There is a wait for the burgers, but it is worth it and all workers were really friendly as well!

  • Corine C.

Yumm! Best burgers in Tampa! And USF students get *free* fries with burger and drink ... Say whaaaaat! If they are giving something free, they WILL see me. Currently getting my #fatkid4life grub on!! ... dont judge me -__-

  • jennifer b.

I always leave stuffed. The burgers are sooo good, I really appreciate that they are so committed to not freezing any of their ingredients or food that they do not even have a freezer in the whole restaurant. You can really taste that difference in the food. A small thing, but one we really like, is that they have caffeine free diet coke in their soda fountain, that's all my husband can drink and most places do not have that option. The only reason I don't give five stars is that they are little misleading with all that "Best five dollar burger you can buy" stuff. Two soda's, an order of fries to split between two people, and two burgers usually runs almost $20.00. Worth it, but not exactly what I expect when thinking about a 5 dollar burger.

  • Donald W.

Where have you been! You must go there, Five Guys, YOU ROCK!!!

    (5)
  • Kelly S.

I have heard a lot about this place and I was not disappointed. The burgers are made to order with all the fixin's you could imagine and the fries are fresh and salty (the only way to eat fries!). A word to the wise- If you go with a friend, only buy a small order of fries and share - they fill up your fry cup and then fill the bottom of your burger bag with more fries. The final bonus is they serve Coke products and Mello Yellow if you are still stuck in 1986. Eat there, you will be happy.

I have to give some love to Five Guys. I went with a friend a few days ago. It was a first time for both of us. Although the price for a pair of doubles and a medium order of fries and two cokes was a little steep at $18, the burger was the best I've had in a while. The fries are cooked in peanut oil and served in a brown paper bag. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Drinks are self serve. They have Coke products and even have Sprite Zero on tap for those of you who want to ease the guilt of burger heaven. There are also plenty of peanuts in shells to munch on while you wait. The food is greasy, juicy, and a cardiologist's nightmare. I loved it. Plenty of parking because it is in a plaza anchored by a health food store. Must by God's way of evening things out. A nice touch, the manager came and visited our table, checked on things, and invited us back. If you like a burger and fries. Give it a go.

As far as burgers go this is one of the best. Customizable, quick and delicious. The patties are on the small side so either do two or a double. The buns are nice, which can actually ruin a perfectly good burger if it is not. The regular portion of fries is massive and plenty for two. The decor is very simple. It is a walk up order and get your own soda at the machine type place almost like any other fast food joint except for the taste. Which is miles away from chain burger joints.

    (5)
  • Mark S.

Juicy burgers, fries and not much else...but great quality! This lunch will make you take a happy digestive nap! The fries are the best! Enjoy
