I have never ate here before. I have some at home in Missouri never tried it although I've only heard good things. Now in Tampa Florida, I finally tried it & oh my goodness so good I am in love. the Italian is fantastic going to try something different here soon Turkey bacon club ranch my friend suggest that to me. This and jersey Mikes are the best sandwich places out there.

Firehouse Subs is a great alternative to Subway, Quiznos, Jimmy Johns, and all the other sandwich joints! Firehouse Subs was started by firemen, and the chain has grown to 600+ restaurants around the US. The gimmick is that all of their sandwiches are named after firefighting apparatus and job types, and this playful take gives you selections such as the "Hook and Ladder" and the "Engineer". Be sure to order your subs "fully involved" meaning served with mayo, deli mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a kosher dill pickle on the side. The decorations inside the restaurant are photos and memorabilia from firefighters, and the restaurant offers a nice discount for firefighters, police, and military personnel. Firehouse Subs started a Public Safety Foundation in each city and makes a point of helping the hometown heroes. It's a nice touch that offers funding, life-saving equipment, disaster assistance and educational opportunities for first responders and public safety organizations. You order your sandwich at the counter -- they have about a dozen different types to choose from. Some may say that's too small of a selection, but I've never found it a problem. Firehouse also offers sandwiches on rolls and a Chef's salad, and a couple of combos for the kiddies. On the front counter you'll see a vast array of hot sauces, and you're encouraged to splash on the heat after you receive your sub. For dinner tonight I ordered an Italian sub on whole wheat, and of course I asked for it "Fully Involved". The sandwich came on a toasted sub roll with Genoa salami, pepperoni, ham, melted provolone, Italian dressing, and seasonings. The bread was toasted and crusty on the outside, and still soft on the inside. Add to that a bag of Miss Vickie's kettle-cooked potato chips and a trip to the always-enjoyable Coca-Cola Freestyle soda machine to mix up the tonic-du-jour, and I was a happy firefighter! Great place to try something a little different, and donate some extra change to their Public Safety Foundation.

Comparing to what a sub should taste like, this place gets 3 stars. A subway would get 1 star in comparison. They heat the majority of the subs and have nice combo suggestions. The combo is a good deal. I love the 100+ flavor coke machine. I eat here when I crave junk food but the subs seem a bit flimsy and small.

The absolute best Meatball Sub you can get! A must try and the others are good to (I hear). I get a craving for a sub, this is the spot! Subway does not hold a candle to Firehouse, talking myself into a Meatball Sub for lunch even, mmmmmm!

This place is legit... By far the best customer service and the food is awesome. I eat here probably 3-4 times a week.

Crusty bread, delicious and high quality meat, cool little firehouse gimmick... Only gripe is that the selection is a bit thin. That said, though, what they do they do very well. The sub I had was pastrami and brisket with swiss cheese, italian dressing, mayo, some other delicious condiments. Would have liked to see more chicken selections, more cheese selections, but hey--- it was good. Worth the trip for sure.

What can I say that hasn't been said before on Firehouse Subs. I really like this place but I think they are a little pricey on tha subs, but still they are good. What I love is the Cherry Limeade with lemons added yummmm and that is why I keep going back to Firehouse Subs.

"Welcome to Firehouse!" is the standard greeting you'll here as soon as you enter. At least it's supposed to be. Some staff members are more welcoming than others. Anyway, this Firehouse Subs location deserves more yelp reviews (positive ones, hopefully). I always get turkey. Meat is of great quality and tastes fresh. I almost always get my sub "fully involved" minus the lettuce. Full involved = lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo, mustard and a dill spear. Toppings/condiments are always fresh too. Also, for you sauce lovers, there are a number of different mild-hot sauces available on the counter to add some kick to your sandwich. This is complimentary. Again, I like their deli meat. Turkey is smoked! Not sure whether I enjoy it or boars head more, but that tells you how serious they are about delivering great, quality sandwiches. A large sub (combo w/ drink and chips) cost me $11. Pricey, but yummy.

First time here. Got the beef and cheddar brisket sub. It was delicious! So much better than say, Subway or Jersey Mike's.

Every time I walk into this Firehouse I'm quickly greated by a friendly employee who wiggly meets me at the register to take my order. My favorite sandwich is the number#1, hook and ladder- fully involved, meaning fully loaded. Their bread is always sift and fresh and I love the flavor of the ham they use. It comes with a pickle. They also have one of those great, large, coke machines that make a millions current choices of sodas. I come here every time I have a class after work, which is a few times a month

Decent lunch crowd . Friendly staff handles the rush . I ordered a salad with tuna. Double meat as you only get a smallish scoop otherwise . Salad was .....ok. Not bad but for over $13 with a drink is rather high. I think Subway and Jersey Mikes makes a better salad.

I went into Firehouse Subs with the hope that I could find a decent alternative to Quiznos. I don't go to sandwich shops all that often but on the occasion I do, I want something satisfying. I got the Engineer sandwich, which has tukey, shredded lettuce, mushooms and cheese. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give this sandwich a 5. It was just OK. I hate shredded lettuce and the turkey meat was clumped together and despite the sandwich being heated up, the whole thing amounted to a disappointment. I didn't really like the bread either. The whole sandwich was just barely adequate. The upside of this place is that it's very clean. There's a jumbo assortment of sauces, displayed on the counter in order of varying heat they deliver. Not a bad touch. The whole theme is the Firefighter thing and there is fireman paraphernalia everywhere. I guess I'm supposed to like the place because of firefighters and that transference of goodwill. I appreciate firefighters and what they do. Just because the guys who started this chain are firefighters, it's a stretch for me that I'm supposed to like it because of that branding and ignore that the sandwiches are just barely adequate. Oh yeah, the employees also blurt out a "Welcome to Firehouse Subs" as you walk in the door. It may work for others but as I'm eating, it gets old and works against the place. I might try this place again but only if someone else were in the car with me and pushing for it. I'd rather go to Quiznos.

I'm only giving this place 3 starts because one the hot sauce collection two the food is always amazing and three the place is always clean. If I was rating the staff it would be a one star. Not very friendly and the fact they smoke cigarettes right outside the front door is horrible and very unprofessional

Forget the calories - enjoying your meal is worth it. The Italian is packed with flavor though some of that does drip off. The Medium at $5.99 will satisfy most appetites, especially with chips & drink. Only reason not a 5-star is guest service was laissez-faire. No traditional "Welcome" & no desire to really explain their new menu choices. But the food will bring you back.

First of all, their subs are not $5! They are better than that! (you get what you pay for on this one!) I'm a fan of the Italian on wheat. My daughter loves the hook and ladder. The tuna is yummmmmy, and the pastrami is to die for! I wish their was one in Land O'Lakes! SOOOO much better than a $5 veggie pit...

We'd never been to this chain before - but we totally loved it... I had the club and loved it - and "fully involved" (meaning with everything on it) was just fun to say. Great alternative to Quiznos or Subway. And they give you a dill pickle spear with your combo - bonus!

Reallly enjoy the subs here... i typically order the chicken salad sub. Service is good and fast. The place is clean. They have a whole array of different sorts of hot sauces, i don't particularly enjoy hot sauces but others do. Subs here are more expensive than Subway but I think they are a lot better quality meat and vegetables.

Love their subs! They warm them up, and the ingredients are fresh. I say "mayo only" but they still add ranch too. So if you're a picky eater like I am, you'll need to be very specific when ordering. But it's a good sub! They do have the fancy Coke machine that lets you add flavors and pick what you want, so that's a plus too.

I love me a my firehouse subs, great hot sub sandwiches steamed to perfection, not soggy and a little crusty. You have to try the ketchupy hot sauce they have available, fantastic! I wish I could have a Firehouse Subs in my house.
