This was my absolute favorite Chinese take out place.. I didn't know they changed ownership, but the food you receive there now is just like any "New York style" Chinese food.. Very disappointed. The previous owner proudly boasted about having traditional Cantonese recipes... This is worlds away from what it was.

The food is really good and that's what matters.

Best Chinese food in the area. I'm always in search of the perfect egg roll. I literally walked the streets of New York one weekend to sample in search...They are very good here. I haven't explored the entire menu yet as it's my 4th visit today, however their crab rangoons, ribs, chicken fried rice, Lo mein and chicken dishes are the best in Westchase/Oldsmar! I'm a big fan...so glad I was introduced to you by my friend Ralph! Crowd favorite in this household.

This place used to be okay, not great just decent enough, but what the hec happened? Ordered this Monday, and wow....never again. The sweet and sour pork was, dry, dry , dry, so dry I couldn't even chew some of the pieces. Seriously! The sweet and sour suace was candy sweet with no sour at all.Chow mien had a weird chemical like taste. The BBQ ribs were also strange tasting and EXTREMELY dry. The white rice was so sticky I could use it as plaster; maybe glue. The only thing that was half way good was the Kung poa chicken, which was still soggy. l will not be going back unless there is nothing and I mean nothing else available. With all the competition out there these guys need to improve!

I've been meaning to try this place for a few years, and yesterday I finally did. I ordered an egg roll, steamed dumplings, and pork chow fun. The egg roll, though standard, was pretty good. Although egg rolls are essentially created equal, most are pretty terrible- they're usually both soggy and rubbery. This one was crispy and seemed fresh. Now, I want to be clear: I know that egg rolls aren't the peak of culinary achievement. But, let's be honest, this is Chinese take-out, and a well-done egg roll is one of life's guilty pleasures. So, it makes me happy to have found a place that makes a decent one. The dumplings were good, too. Standard, but well done. So, first two courses, A-OK. Now on to the less great. For the main, I ordered pork chow fun. I would normally have ordered beef chow fun, as that's the only chow fun I've ever had, but a few of the other reviews complained that the beef tasted weird or bad. I took this as a sign that I shouldn't order beef. I have no idea if that was right or not, but in either case, the pork chow fun was bland bland bland. The pork itself was good, and there was a lot of it, but there was no sauce or flavor to speak of. So, I wasn't impressed. Would it have been better with beef? I have no idea. Is pork chow fun even a thing? No clue. But I won't be ordering that again. I will definitely try this place again. I am a firm believer that every (decent) restaurant has its strengths. Pork chow fun is NOT this particular restaurant's strength. But maybe the egg roll is. Maybe next time I'll do as other reviewers have suggested, and buy some fresh seafood from Lobster Haven next door and have it stir-fried cantonese style. If I could give one message to the Asian joints in the area, it's MORE FLAVOR PLEASE! There are plenty of Americans who just want the bland, greasy Chinese food that litters strip malls far and wide, but there are plenty of us who want real, delicious, authentic flavor.

Pleasantly surprised by the food! Though I was missing one container of rice, it's not a big deal. We got the shrimp with mixed veggies, chicken with snow peas, sesame chicken, and Mongolian beef.

I always judge a Chinese takeout by a couple of things: If they do NOT have a picture menu and if their fried rice is truly fried in the wok. CTO passes both tests. This unassuming Chinese takeout (and delivery) restaurant off Hillsborough Ave is great. Their wonton soup isn't some weird yellow color, their pork fried rice really does take a bath in the wok, and their chow fun with black bean sauce is amazing. They also have a loyalty program. After 10 orders you receive a credit towards your next order. By far best Chinese in westchase area.

So I read many reviews about CTO and decided to try it out. First off the guy on the phone that took my order was so nice, kind and spoke very good english. I ordered beef n broccoli combo, general tso chicken combo and egg drop dumpling soup with a free order of plain lo mein bc I had a coupon. General Tso chicken was excellent, I didn`t like the beef n broccoli as much, it actually tasted better the next day. Same goes for the egg drop soup, it tasted better the next day. Will try this place out again and hopefully have a better review next time. Would definitely recommend overall.

CTO is Chinese takeout at its finest. Though most of the menu items are similar to many Chinese takeouts in the area, they do have some signature dishes that are noted on their counter sometimes with a feature picture of the dish. For the most I noted them as a noodle type dish. I have ordered both pick up and delivery. On pick up orders, I noted a pretty small area for dining in which the lighting could be better. I also noted the numerous assortment of sodas both foreign and domestic in the cooler, maybe one day I will try something different. They do serve boba smoothies seasonally. For delivery there is a $15 minimum ordering they do work in the delivery tip in your total. Delivery has been punctual to the estimated time. More importantly its the little things that go a long way. First, their cyber salad to some it may be a simple pickling of cucumbers garnish with sesame seeds, but its sweet refreshing flavor goes great prior or with that savory entree. My stir fried vegetables are always perfectly al dente. I also noted the complimentary condiments, they do have duck sauce in the packet, but I do recommend trying there CTO duck sauce which comes in a little container. For those who like it spicy you can ask for their chili sauce which I like for that extra kick. Final thought I applaud of this establishment is the promoting aspect. The rewards program of saving your receipts and after a certain amount of orders you get a credit towards a future order. In addition, they encourage support of the local business in the plaza specifically Lobster Haven. They will cook any lobster purchase from Lobster Haven cantonese style, stir fry or special order for a small additional price (based on weight).

This used to be our favorite place for delivery. For 3 yrs, up until last week. Found what looked to be a sandspur, a really hard chunk, very sharp, in the food. My husband told me to call them or take it to them. I decided not to because in my experience, companies don't believe you. We just won't give them our business. Don't let it stop you from trying them, just be on the lookout. The food is good.

This is by far the best Chinese take out I have had in years. The food is fresh, price is extremely affordable and they feed you a lot of food! The owner is so nice and friendly as well. I would give 6 stars if that is an option.

Today I purchased Hunan Beef to go from this Cyber Takee Outee on Hillsborough Ave. going towards Oldsmar Florida . The owner operator of this useless Chinese Restaurant was bragging how good the food is and he received all the complements from Waterchase and Westchase residence. He definitely must be dreaming. Believe me, the food is terrible and I had to throw it out. The rice looked like it was cooked in a microwave and the beef smelled terrible. I did call Cyber Takee Outee and let him know how terrible his restaurant food is and I assured him that I will never return. I would advice the Westchase and Waterchase Residence that there are other Chinese restaurants in the trading area which are far much better than this dumb! Save your money.

Poor Food Poor Service as of recently ! Cyber Takee Outee on Hillsborough Ave., we have been eating there for years and they were always good. The last 3 times we ate there, the food was sub standard. The shrimp had a chemical after taste. The curry chicken which is one of my favorites, the chicken was old and dry tasting. Today we had Mongolian Beef and it smelled bad, tasted bad and had a weird after taste. So after another bad experience with CTO we decided to call and let them know what was going on. To our surprise no one seemed to really care and make an effort to make it right. In our opinion this is not how you do business. Not acceptable to say the least! For us it is the last time we had take out from them.

So...I moved to town a few months ago and while I was driving around I passed by this neon yellow sign in the middle of a desolate plaza. I looked at the name and thought, "Really???". "Takee Outee". What a beautifully simplistic slap of...I don't know...ironic humor? Anyways, I wasn't hungry at the time so I drove by and smiled to myself about it. Months later, I feel the urge to not cook dinner and feeling up for some Chinese take-out. My go-to option was typically "New Bamboo" (or something or other), a few miles to my east. I opted for trying this place out as it wasn't too late and I felt like a night drive. This was the best decision I've made all day. When I went in to get my food I was not terribly impressed. The decor was rather lacking (non-existent) and I noticed that my take-out bag of food was the only one sitting on what had to be the biggest table ever in life, the way it stuck out so starkly. This was usually a bad sign in most restaurants. It indicates that they had to turn up the oil from room temp as they had FINALLY gotten a customer and someone had to chop a block off the reheated pile of congealed brittle fried rice that's been there since 11:30 AM. I was fortunately very very wrong. And frankly supremely surprised. I had asked for white meat General Tso's which if granted at all, surely meant sweet and sour chicken basted in General Tso's sauce. This, it was not. They were deliciously crispy yet tender pieces of barely battered white breast chicken pieces. It was very well done! Even the rice tasted freshly fried and the steamed broccoli was actually STEAMED and had texture and firmness and color as compared with boiled, limp vegetables found in a majority of take-out joints. I was very satisfied with what I bought. Don't get me wrong; this is still a simple Chinese take-out joint as the name so eloquently puts forth. But it's damn near the best take-out I've had in all of Florida. It's a good four or five cuts above the rest. If you're in the West Chase/Oldsmar,/Town & Country and feeling for some Asian take-out then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it over any other plaza take-out for at least a 20 mile radius.

One of my fave chinese take out restaurants to go to! CTO is different to me than normal Chinese Take-Out. I feel like their ingredients are more fresh. I love their sesame chicken, and chicken with mushrooms. If you get a combo meal, I love the cucumber salad with sesame seeds that they include with your dish. The prices are average. I don't think they are more or less expensive than anywhere else. BUt their taste is better than the rest

This place has the BEST wonton soup and pork fried rice ever. We've been taking out from here since I was in my early teens and it's always good. The prices are on par with other restaurants of the like, but the food is way more outstanding--both in taste, presentation, and quality. They deliver within a few miles too which is always a plus. Cashiers are always friendly and efficient.

"Did you know when you go it's the perfect ending, to the bad day I was just beginning. When you go, all I know is you're my favorite mistake." Isn't it refreshing to order Chinese take out from people who actually (to indirectly quote the hilarious Chris Tucker in the Rush Hour trilogy) "understand the words that are coming out of your mouth". I stumbled across this miniature gem of culinary goodness while trolling up and down the avenue desperately searching for a Chinese restaurant I could run into and grab some chopsticks for an asian inspired dinner I was making at home. I know, I know it sounds petty and cheap, but hey I wasn't gonna spend 15 bucks at Pier One for a pair, when I wasn't sure if the dinner was gonna be worth 10 cents. Glancing up from the road I spied a sign that simply said "Voted #1 Chinese" at this point I couldn't care if it said voted #7,642 all I needed was some little wooden sticks, and I'd be on my way. So I swerved into the nearly deserted strip mall on the edge of Tampa and nowhere. Greeted almost instantly by a beautiful oriental (do people even still say that) femme who immediately asked my name and segued headlong into a conversation that had almost nothing to do with dinner or tree forged utensils. I found myself bedazzled by her comely charms, impressive grasp of customer service and knowledge of the local area. So much in fact that l allowed myself to be lured into trying their fabulous Moo Shu Pork, a dish I've never even remotely been interested in. One good dish deserves an excellent side so when in a Chinese take out place order fried rice (and yes she pronounced it correctly as in accord with the Queen's language). It was absolute perfection, and it didn't stop there, the meal was rounded out with steamed broccoli and a vegetable combination known mysteriously as the "CTO cyber salad". Good and good for you all this yummy sustenance was cooked with absolutely no msg and in 100% cholesterol free veggie oil. Needless to say my "home cooking" took a backseat to the fine food that preceded it. I left that tiny Chinese place in the middle of nowhere with a smile as big as all china itself. Ironically, I ate everything there with a fork. Now if only we could do something about that crazy name. I guess no one place could have it all.

I have been away for awhile from this place ... not for any reason against the restaurant...just was focused on cooking my own meals. A couple days ago I was home and not feeling well so I order lunch...beef curry small extra hot (ie double fireworks) and spring rolls. I was ready by the time I arrived and paid. It was tasty and the portion was larger than I have had before. It was somewhat hot -- not double fireworks -- but ok on the heat. I did not recognize the people working there - so I guess it has exchanged hands as other commented. I still consider this to have some of the best Chinese food in the Tampa Bay area. For people who have never been -- this is a take out place -- this is not a place to bring people to eat. Rating it as a take out and pick up - I will give it 4 stars. I have never used delivery.

Change is inevitable. Cyber Takee Outee has a new owner. For the loyal regulars, you gotta a lot to adjust. My impression of the former CTO was impressive. The taste of his food was bold but still hold on authentic Cantonese flavor. The new owner, however, took a different path. His food is much lighter on all aspects. The only fact that determine whether if I should come back to CTO is how hubby's taste buds and stomach reacts to their food. Since he had been spoiled by eating Chinese food for the last two decades in China, I let him do the talk. His assessment is, it is not bad for an Americanized Chinese take out. Fresh ingredients and no MSG; Stir-fired vegetable was crunch and not over flowed with garlic. Reheated beef noodle tasted even better. The flavor is not as sophisticate as Chef Li, but it is not a bad alternative for Chinese take-out in case the sky falls. It is a standard Chinese takeout. Nothing more and noting less. Staffs are friendly and gave me the impression that they care. I glanced at the owner. He appears confident for his food. Good sign. I wait and see. 3.8 star.

I agree with the other reviewer, the food was just ok but now it is horrible. I haven't been there in about 2 months, I go to Chef Li up the street for REAL Chinese. Last time I picked up my food the cashier handed me my food and all I could see was HER extremely long arm pit hair out of her sleeveless shirt - ugh! I wanted to vomit right there. My daughter ordered Chicken and Broccoli and it was just that - no sauce, nothing...

Okay I'm not really sure what has changed, maybe the restaurant is under new management. Everyone is still super nice but the food quality has changed. The other day I ordered the new boneless spare ribs and chicken lo mein. After only eating a small portion of my meal I began to get sick. The boneless spare ribs were a little on the dry side but seemed to have a heavy sauce. I would hope they would not serve old pork. My chicken lomein seem to be average and did not have a strange taste to it. I'm not sure what was spoiled but I definitely was sick and huddled over for the next couple of hours. I was this locations biggest advocate but you kind of lose my vote once I am near death sick. Because we all know once you have stomach pains you feel like you're near death. My sisters food on the other hand looks really good she had the general Tao's chicken with fried rice and she was just fine. that is the only reason I'm giving two stars , that and they are really really nice at this location. However I just really don't know if I will be returning to this location because everytime I look at the sign I will think of how sick I was and how they are just places that no one should ever have paper cuts...if you know what I mean!!!

I see many negative reviews about the quality dropping as new owners took over. For myself I just started eating here so I can't truly compare. I will say though for the oldsmar area they are hands down the best restaurant that delivers to my office. The deliveries are usually pretty quick and you can't beat the lunch combos for around $4. The wonton soup is definitely their best soup and the spicy cashew chicken is always solid. Going to be ordering from them today. All in all - very convenient and well worth the price. More than fair.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
