Know what to order here food wise and you will leave happy. Rollin tacos = Good, enough for two people to split for a full meal Fish taco = Average Fajita Chicken Sandwich = Good, usually my go-to meal here Breakfast Burrito = Great when you are looking for a gut-buster, post-drinking night meal Pancakes = Surprisingly good The most unsung aspect of this place is actually the To-Go beer/liquor freezer. Good selection and the convenience... When the weather is nice they have a spacious outdoor area in the courtyard with frequent live music.

Love City Dog. Everything I've tried on the menu has always been fantastic! The staff is always friendly & the service is excellent.

The Stewart's Drunken Quesadillas are soooo good. We came around 6pm on a weekday, Cinco de Mayo. The service is not the best but the food overall is good. The Nachos I didn't like that much. My hubby enjoyed his fish tacos. The hubby had Coronas and I had Margeritas all night. The first one I had was pretty weak, not sure what liquor they used. Then I had a Disarita Margerita which was was better and stronger. Then we noticed they had my husbands favorite tequila, Avion. We asked the waitress to make our next round of margaritas with that liquor and she said, oh we have that. Um Yes, it's in your menu. Overall good food, not that great service but I would go again, and again and again...

I really don't have that much to say. It's an okay place. I'm not going to say it's terrible. The food is meh, their is much better bar food in the area (like just around the corner). The service is equally just okay. I ate outside so I can't really say much about the decor (and maybe the service inside is better? All I know is that it took awhile for waters and the like to be refilled). If you are desperate and hungry it's not the worst place to grab a bite, but all I can say is I probably wouldn't chose to frequent this restaurant again.

This place is right near my apartment and open late, so I've been a few times out of convenience alone. The food is ok, not horrendous but not something id go out of my way to eat. I wish their menu was a little more creative, not just basic bar food with a some spicy mixed in. The breakfast is ok, but not anything I couldn't make myself. I was hoping they would have good brunch, but it was disappointing. I haven't tried their drinks as much, just because there are so many other bars near by that also serve good food, so I don't have much of a reason to hang out here. They have beer and basic cocktails, but nothing I couldn't get at a Chilis. I think they have the potential to be so much more if they made their menu just a touch more creative and upscale and redecorated a bit. They have an excellent space and location, so I hope to see them make the best of it!

Beer is still the coldest on tap in Tampa and had a chance to try some other items on their menu. Their grilled chicken sandwich is probably my new favorite. The avacado is what really makes it

For the channelside area, this is probably your best bet for food. They do source quality ingredients. In fact, they don't even have a freezer. They also make most of the stuff from scratch. John the owner even does some of the cooking himself.(I guess to protect trade secrets?) Either way, they do care and pride themselves in their food. I don't add salt to anything so sometimes I find their food a bit salty. If you are like me, you have to tell them ahead of time. They have a very well stocked bar. They have a outstanding tequila collection if that is your thing. The bartenders are all pretty nice. I am surprised they put up with alot of my shenanigans. Decor is very dive bar like but not dirty if that makes any sense.

This So-so Mexican Restaurant conveniently located close to home in the Channelside district in Downtown Tampa area has average bland shrimp burritos, fish tacos, lobster tacos, great steak quesadillas and great breakfast quesadillas! The burritos are merely average because they lack adequate marination and the toppings aren't the best. Their red and green salsa don't have any vegetables in them and are lacking of quality ingredients. Surprisingly, an Irish restaurant next door, Maloney's has better salsa than these guys. That's how bad it is. Their steak and cheese is worst I've ever had and usually, those are pretty hard to mess up. I'm not even sure why they call it a steak and cheese because the steak is not thinly sliced. There's thick pieces of steak and it's nothing like a traditional Philly steak. Service varies from great to absolutely terrible. You think as a regular that comes often, the servers would recognize me, and give better service, but there is a lot of turnover here. I heard the owner is really hard on the staff. Sometimes the kitchen takes an hour to crank out a burrito w 6 people in the restaurant and sometimes we have to hunt down a server because no one has said hello to us after sitting there for 10 minutes but it is conveniently located. They have a full bar, but Mixed drinks tend to be even pricier than the airport at $12 for chocolate martinis, $10 torpedo mixed coffee drinks, $10 Jungle Juice, but there are $3 PBR beer specials. Too bad I'm no PBR fan lol. Decor is chic modern with high back leather booths, 5 shelf liquor bar with a huge tequila selection, TV's, and industrial with actual ducts exposed. I've had friends that have been grossly over-charged for vegetable substitutions with no warning from the server until the bill comes. They sell grossly over-priced liquor bottles for people that don't want to go to the store because there really is no grocery store anywhere in Channelside or downtown Tampa area. 2 hour free parking is available in the garage. After 2 hours, it's $1 per hour to park. For better Mexican food in Soho, I recommend Miguel's off Kennedy and the Green Lemon off Howard. We used to be regulars here due to the convenience, but finally another restaurant opened up, Maloney's! For far better service without attitude and great drink specials in Channelside, I recommend Maloney's!

Great place. Stayed in the condo above the cool bar/restaurant and was a perfect place to end our night coming from Ybor city into a more relaxing and chill atmosphere. Went the morning after for some breakfast. Got the Breakfast burrito which was extremely filling and one of the best burritos I've had in a long time.

Really disappointing on many levels. Especially bc there are so few food options currently in Channelside. I went in on my lunch break and sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly, but the food was horrible. I ordered a burger and after 15 minutes it came out and I took a bite and the inside of it was raw. Not even warm. I sent it back and got THE SAME BURGER BACK bite mark and all. How do you recook a burger you don't put back on a grill? They threw it under something bc the lettuce was warm, but it was still the same. Gross.

"Go home bar, you're drunk!" That's what I think when I come to this bar- is it drunk? The first time I came to city dog- loved it! It was mid- day Saturday; our bartender was awesome (Caitlin) - that's how good she was I remembered her name- made a jalapeño martini that rocked my socks! ....I've never been able to duplicate that experience again despite numerous tries. The interior is like the bar is drunk- random Xmas decorations, blown up beer bottles, wait staff having a cigarette outside then greets your table, lights are bright some places and dark in others ( much like my apartment when I'm hung over) and the music is LOUD oh so loud; food is bland- but I keep showing up...not sure why... Go if you want I'm not sure they will notice or care...

BEST breakfast. All day. He just added breakfast tacos and they're delicious in their simplicity. Everything is delicious here. Recommend the house salad, Rollin Nolan nachos (husband loves them), egg sandwich, the guacamole, all the tacos, everything. You can't go wrong. Servers are awesome. Huge tequila selection and knowledgable owner.

Mmmm I love the food at this bar!! I had chicken quesadillas and there was so much chicken and deliciousness!! Green beans are to die for!! A little spicy kick and goes perfectly with the sauce. The rolled tacos are amaze-balls!! To drink I got the Dog with expresso and patron xo. It was perfect! Yum yum!

My favorite place to sit outside enjoy a martini and some shrimp tacos. Service is always great and the food comes out quick and spicy just the way I like it! Definitely a great place to grab lunch or dinner with friends and family!

Went here the other night for dinner. Food was just meh. It seemed like their solution to flavor was just jalapeño. I had the spicy guacamole and Jessica Special with a glass of red wine. My husband said his burger was good but I tried some of his fries and they were overly seasoned with Seasoned Salt. I doubt I would ever return for another meal.

I had drank here before, and things had been pretty good, but I finally ate here and it was GOOD! For the price, their shrimp tacos were AWESOME! Ask for corn tortillas. This is an excellent little bar with mexican food. And I've heard good things about their chicken salads. The best part is the price, nice and low! ALSO, if you're looking for tequila...look no further! This place has the biggest Ful bar EVER!

I go here quite often and had good experiences, however the one time I bring out of town guests (after bragging about their great breakfasts) our waitress was terrible. She actually came to get our beverage order and when we asked for menus and silverware prior to giving her a drink order she replied with "ok, I got it, so what, you don't drink?". She also wrote down two of the orders wrong and blamed my out of town guest by saying they told her the wrong thing. I was mortified. I also have worked in restaurants for years and have an annoying habit of listening to people order, he told her the correct item, but she was trying to show off and not write down any of the orders and use her Memory. The food is good and I have never had a bad experience before, but she left a terrible impressions on the folks I brought there for the first time.

Great staff, really fun place to watch MSU beat OSU! Not overly crowded, but friendly and efficient staff and welcoming patrons, lots of regulars, and although it was my first time, I felt welcome, so welcome in fact that I came back here to watch the Rose Bowl. Considering spending time here seems to have caused MSU to do amazing, I might have to come back for every game next season! Besides the fact that hanging out here makes my team do great, I am also impressed with the devotion to Sriracha! It is hands down my favorite hot sauce and City Dog Cantina has it on every table. Now beware, if you like sweet treats, this place is not for you, just about everything is spicy. I, on the other hand, love spicy and therefore I have no complaints. Breaking down what makes me a fan of City Dog Cantina (besides lots of spicy Sriracha, friendly staff, and good luck for Spartans): BACON JALAPENO MAC & CHEESE is spectacular with a nice baked crust on the top, spicy but not overkill, and the option for lobster (I went without, but would definitely consider it next time), ROLLIN NOLAN NACHOS II, I went with chicken on top and I practically licked the plate clean, nuff said. So that is all I have tried so far, and they have Magic Hat #9 on tap, so that will always make me (and the fiancee) happy. Finally, if you just stop in for a beer and chips n' salsa and a beer you will be pleasantly surprised, they come with red and green salsa along with some pickled black eyed peas dish that I call Texas Caviar. I see some other reviews that complain about the food. City Dog Cantina is not your typical 5-star restaurant, but as far as my sampling goes, they have above average, spicy, bar food, that may be just a tad bit overpriced, but if you like spicy food, you should be pleasantly surprised. My friend regularly gets the rolled tacos. He swears by them, and I am sure that I will have them come NCAA tournament time!

First time here and all I hade were the chicken nachos. Sounds easy enough....nope. Was much too spicy and I didn't even order chili or jalapeños on them. For 12 bucks I would hope to at least enjoy the dish. Server was nice, place was clean.

Dinner BLT with aioli- no words. The spicy bbq you get is amazing as well. There isn't a meal here that's not good. Breakfast- spicy chili burrito. And bonus, you can eat breakfast anytime of day here. Great atmosphere, great place. Everyone should try it.

Full disclosure: I did not eat here. We were in downtown Tampa for the 4th of July and lookin' for a place to have a few inexpensive drinks before we gorged ourself on food truck wonder and ran across City Dog. It's a bit of a dive bar, which is exactly what we were looking for. Plenty of TVs for World Cup viewing. They still had a lot of Christmas decorations up, I couldn't decide if it was quirky or lazy, maybe both? They did have great drink specials. Service was descent. Good place for groups, we were one of several groups ( 6+ people) there on the 4th. I'll go again, order some grub, and update my review.

Fun spot to grab some beers, but the food was a bit of a miss. City Dog Cantina is located in Channelside next door to the Pour House. We initially were in the area to drink at the Pour House, but since we arrived a few hours before the Pour House opened we decided to grab a beer and some food at City Dog Cantina. We sat in the outdoor patio area since we had our dog. It was brutally hot on an August afternoon so I would save the outdoor seating for cooler weather. The menu consisted of Mexican food and bar food. My husband ordered the nachos and guacamole while I tried the jalapeno mac and cheese. I didn't really care for either of our dishes. The guacamole didn't taste fresh and I hated the breading on top of my mac and cheese. On a positive note the mac and cheese was nice and spicy and had generous portions of bacon in it, but the crust of the dish was just a thick layer of panko breadcrumbs that were flash cooked. The breadcrumbs gave the dish a very weird texture. Would come back here to grab a beer, but would probably skip ordering any food.

I've heard good things about this place so decided to finally tried the food. I decided to try the crab cakes and was a bit concern since you really can't eat seafood anywhere but they were huge and delicious, they come with a remoulade sauce that is a bit spicy but not overwhelming. I heard the quesadillas are great so that may be my next try. It has a full bar so it complements it's neighbor Pour House. They have live music Sunday's around 6p which draws a nice crowd for a lay back afternoon. Prices are reasonable and there is parking garage at Grand Central.

Terrible. Two stars only because the location was good and decor was nice. Maybe spend more money on your cook, though? Service was alright. Food was tasteless. I've never had a chicken burrito that didn't taste like anything. Bland. My friend was like, "Eh" too. I don't get where these good reviews are coming from...

Alright... here we go. I'm the duchess of this place so I guess it's time for a review. I live and love in Channelside so I am automatically a fan of anywhere that is within walking or riding distance. I was super excited when I heard a Mexican place was opening up down in my hood. Sea Dog has a nice rustic-urban feel to it that makes it feel right at home in the Channelside area. There's a nice size bar with Flatscreens adorning the walls. The dining room has free standing tables and a couple of tables that have one side booth seating. They've also added an outdoor dining area where you can sit on nice days. The servers can be a little hit or miss but we often have a game of musical chairs going on as people come in from their various apartments and condos from around the district so that may be more our vault than theirs. Sea Dog has a full bar with a pretty impressive collection of not only tequila but vodkas, rums and whiskeys as well. The bar takes up the entire right side of the space so they knew they would become primarily a bar after 10 pm on the weekends. They have a good beer selection but seem to realize that the Pour House next door is where the beer snobs go. Now, let me tell you about their hunch punchesque (yes, I think that word is in the dictionary) drink called Jungle Juice. I happened to be at Sea Dog for it's unveiling. It called out to me the way a big red button with the words "Do not push" would. I knew it was probably bad news and someone might get hurt but my mind was screaming YOLO. So, I ordered it. And, it was a mistake. Someone did get hurt, me. I had one glass of the stuff and my head was hurting like I had a hangover before I even got a buzz. It's also $9 a glass. In short, steer clear. The food is pretty good. The Rollin Nolan Nachos are the best bargain on the menu. I usually split these with a friend and we still don't finish them. They are piled high with toppings and they will customize them for your preference if you ask. Their queso is sort of like skillet queso. It's different but it's good. I'm not a burrito girl but a lot of my Channelside peeps order those and say they are really great. The lobster mac n cheese is not God's gift to the world like I thought it would be. To be honest, this is probably a 3 star restaurant but it's ambiance, location and consistency make it 4 stars for me. It's great for people who don't live in Channelside and are looking for something different to do. They've got an outdoor area if it's a nice day. It's definitely a neighborhood favorite. It's outlasted the 2 other places that were in the front of Grand Central (The Garage and Ragin' Grill) and that's a better location. The servers are also really friendly

I can't speak for the service since we always get take out. I can however speak for the food quality. The wings are awesome! The beef tips are the best I've had in a very long time. They are a bit spicy but not too bad if you are accustomed to some spice in your food. The burger is more of a gourmet type burger but very good if you want something different than an average burger. My hubby loved their quesadilla and he's not easily pleased. As for the service all I can say is they have always been super friendly and had our food hot and ready on time. The atmosphere seems casual and friendly. I've seen families with young kids eating in there so I assume it's pretty family friendly. You can bring your dog and eat outside at the out door tables under the shaded umbrellas.

It was a Flicks and Foodtrucks night (if you have never been you should visit). It has a little colder than most Florida evenings. The room had a great feel and the energy level from the staff was enjoyable. The beverages were poured to perfection. We didn't get to try the food but many were eating and it looked like they were enjoying themselves.

Eh, it's alright. We wound up here after discovering the next door Pour House was just beer and not food. The menu options were alright, but nothing particularly stood out. The appetizers we opted for were ok, but absolutely nothing special or memorable. Service was decent. Beer list was about average. Definitely not a destination eatery, but if in the immediate area, it'll do.

Food was awesome! The absolute best wings in Tampa Bay bar none! They are grilled instead of fried! I am a huge fan! My wife loves the crab cake BLT. TVs are well located for games. Beers might be just a bit pricy...

Delicious fresh Mexican food at a great price. Recommended: chicken tacos, rollin nolan nachoes. But not a big fan of the guacamole dip -- tastes like they put mustard in it. Food can be spicy but I like spicy. Overall, this is a great place that wont break the bank. The food is served fresh.. and FAST.

Want a little spice in your life? Then come here! We came with a group of about 10 people and almost every person's order was at least a little spicy. Some were really spicy! That is only a bad thing if you don't like spicy food, or if you don't want your mouth to feel like it's on fire! :) I had the grilled chicken sandwich. I was pleased that it came on ciabatta bread instead of a traditional ole bun. My husband had the crab cake BLT. Both sandwiches were very well done. Perfectly cooked and both just a hint of spicy. Both also came with fries. The fries had a pretty spicy dip that came on the side. A nice change from plain ole ketchup! If I come back, I will be trying the tacos. I love fried food and the tacos are fried and then piled high with goodness; lettuce, tomato, olives, sour cream, etc. The inside is a quaint little space with TVs and a full bar, but we chose to sit outside under the umbrellas and enjoy the shade. So, if you want to spice up your life, definitely give it a try!

I gave this place way too many chances to win me over. First of all the food isn't great but it is decent and with a good atmosphere it could def make you forget that the food isn't anything special. The service sucks. It seems like they are pretty confident in their business that they don't care much about service. I had Caesar salad which took over 30 mins to get, on a hour lunch break- when they were not busy. I ordered a sprite and they were out so the girl offered me a can, I agreed (what ever). she brings me a dented can - like the top was sticking up and out as if it were dropped) I just started to laugh and looked at her and asked her if she was seriously expecting me to open that can? she picked it up and popped it open for me and kept apologizing and asking if this was okay? all I said was of course its not but what ever. she went about her way! Every server ive dealt with here just seems to be very full of themselves. I don't get it. I am really nice and I am a generous tipper and this place just consistently disappoints. I was hesitant to write this review because I considered I might want to give it a shot since its so close by- but im 110% sure I am done. I've been to food trucks with better service than them!

I have never experienced such awful and rude customer service before in my life. My friends and I went in on a pretty busy evening, purchased beer and $10 drinks. Upon receiving our $10 drinks, we asked the waitress if there was anything she could do about the drinks because they tasted so terrible we couldn't even take a second sip. After taking 15 minutes to come back to us she suggested putting grenadine in the drink. She took another 10 minutes to get a few cups. When she checked back on us we told her no the drink still tasted pretty bad and was there anyway we could switch it out for their cheapest beer just so we could have something to sip on. She told us that once something was poured she couldn't do anything about it and sent over her "manager". Some woman came over to our table very agitated and started speaking down to us and blaming us for ordering grenadine since now there was nothing to do. We calmly explained the situation and how the waitress told us to add the grenadine and all we wanted was something drinkable and would be happy paying $10 for even PBR. After this suggestion, she threw her arms up and very rudely told us "too bad" and walked away as we were still trying to speak to her. At this point the waitress came back over to us, apologized and informed us she would cover our bill for such rude service we just received. Later we found out the woman that came over to us was not a manager at all. As we were trying to leave and get our credit card, the owner of the bar was seen taking multiple shots of alcohol, and then confronted one of the members from our party about the situation. He then pushed her into bar stools in an attempt to actually physically push her out of the bar. At this point, our party was still calmly sitting on our seats while the police were called to kick us all out of the establishment. Never go to this establishment because even the waitress came up afterwards and explained this type of behavior from the "manager" and owner were a common occurrence. Not once was there an apology or responsibility taken for their actions. I can't even put in to words how terrible the experience was and how rude the owner and "manager" were. The waitress was the only polite person in this situation and ended up getting penalized from the situation due to her manager and owner. I wouldn't even give this place a star but in order to post a review, you have to. Due to how they treat their customers, it is not worth anything.

A huge waste of time and money. I went here with my husband last night for dinner, since it was within walking distance we were hoping it would be a good place to add to our lunch/dinner repertoire. But, it will definitely not be a place we will be returning to. The buffalo fried shrimp was this place's only saving grace--served with blue cheese dip and slices of celery. The Chicken Fajita salad was absolutely revolting. The chicken was so spicy that I literally spit it out. Why on earth wouldn't they put "spicy" in the description if it burns your mouth to the point of needing three glasses of water? My husband had shrimp and fish, with a side of green beans. And I didn't know it was possible to ruin green beans, but this place changed my opinion of that. I was also grossly disappointed that they don't offer any dessert of any kind (to help quench my desire to put something sweet in my mouth after putting out the spicy fire within). So, I would give this place one star but the buffalo shrimp is their only saving grace for a reluctant customer to give this place two stars. My advice? Don't waste your time or money with this place.

This place has gone down hill in a big way. The owner John who had a unique concept with great and flavorful food as neglected both the quality and service provided. Our company has spent thousands of dollars on staff lunches and resident events. On this particular evening we ordered guacamole which is always a fan favorite. Unfortunately the batch ordered was lacking in overall quality and the server was asked if a another batch could be made. We were informed that the kitchen refused to remake the dip and the server said she would remove the order from the check. After receiving the final check after the charge was made we indicated the charge had not been removed. The bar manager stopped by and said John "owner" had a policy if 1/2 the order was eaten he would not take away the charge. First, the portion was smaller than normal and only two bites were taken. They refused to remove the charge even though they took away the entire appetizer before even being able to eat the rest of the app, even though we were charged 100% percent for it. This may seem trivial, however it has become very evident that the owner John, no longer has the quality nor service that he used to have. Our company will no longer patronize this establishment. Very sad and disappointed with the owner John.

I ordered the shrimp tacos that come with avocado on top. When served, the avocado was mushy and had black areas throughout. Yes, black. Instead of sending the dish back, I took the avocado off and asked for fresh slices. After a notable wait, the bartender brought me additional slices of mushy, black avocado. When I showed it too her and pointed out how unappealing this looked and while I knew it wasn't going to kill me, this was a meal I was paying for and expected fresh, not blackened avocado. When I asked for the manager, I was told there wasn't one there. I pointed out that this was likely part of the problem and ate the tacos sans avocado because I was starving. They were spicy and actually not bad so it's a shame no one cares what's going out of the kitchen. Poor service and sub par food. No surprise there were only 6 people here when it's downstairs from Grand Central so hundreds of folks are an elevator ride away but choose to go somewhere else. Maybe a place to grab drinks before going out IF you can get service or if it's in business that long.

Great location, great food, great drinks, great service... Did I mention the word great ?I have never had a bad meal here. brunch items are great and although in my opinion limited the dinner menu is equally amazing....I happen to live nearby so I can walk there, but if your not walking the street parking is a little hard to come by so use the parking garage which has free indoor parking.

I have never been charged extra for a drink on the rocks until I found this place. So they basically charged me $4.00 for a few ice cubes. Ridiculous in my opinion. When you charge $8.00 for a drink it should already have a good pour!

We live nearby and visit regularly for the best Bloody Mary's you will ever have! The homemade mix is AMAZING!!! The spicy carrot garnish is unique and yummy. Also, the breakfast burrito is a great compliment to any drink. Prices are a little higher than what we prefer for such slow service but the food usually tastes pretty good. But I cannot repeat enough, the Blood Mary mix is fantastic!

I've been here many times I've never been able to eat light here because the food is so good. The wings are awesome. I also like the breakfast BLT, the Nolan Nachos, and the tacos. Personally I don't know what some of the previous posters are talking about when they say the food is not good. I will agree with those who say that at times the food is spicy. That's probably true and a disclaimer to others- I like spicy food.

Went looking around online for best nachos in Tampa, and this place came up on the radar. They weren't the best nachos I've ever had, nor were they the worst. We sat at the bar and had great service and good mimosas. The nachos weren't layered with the queso, it was all at the bottom and I was looking for the tortilla chips like at a Mexican restaurant, these weren't the fried kind. Overall a good nacho, but not the best I've ever had.. Cool place with good energy. Would go back and try something else on the menu!

We live across the street from City Dog and order takeout from this place way too often. Merely out of convenience though, as the food is only "meh" and EXTREMELY over priced, and the service is ALWAYS rude! Tonight, my husband called to order our dinner (like I said, we eat there a lot) and THE MANAGER would not substitute hash browns for french fries on the breakfast sandwich I was ordering. Since we are "regulars", I called back, because I just knew once this woman knew who we were, we would be treated with a bit of loyalty. Nope. I was told the owner, John, had a policy that they were not to substitute fried potatoes for fried potatoes. My husband and I will not be back. I expect this to be the next restaurant to die in Channelside, because you can walk around the corner to Maloney's, where they have awesome food and awesome service, without all the attitude.

If you like raw chicken then this is the place for you. Chicken sandwich was raw, asked for it to be recooked and what they did was put the same sandwich, bread and all on the grill. The problem is the raw blood had already soaked into the bread. The "manager" was asked to come to the table and was explained to her that just throwing something on the grill is not a resolve to the issue. The "manager" asked if she could get us a round of drinks and we agreed. The server came back and said the owner said, "nothing else can be done, but we will take the sandwich off the tab."

Worst service and management around. Asked to speak to a manager after raw chicken was served. Another server came over. When offered a "solution" to compensate for the mistake it was then taken back 5 minutes later because the owner said we can't do anything for that table. So much promise but terrible place.

The breakfast and lunch/dinner menus are excellent. I love the potato tacos and ginger margarita. My only "complaint" is the service leaves a lot to be desired. I've been many times when it's not crowded and the waitress is nowhere to be seen.

This was my second time going to city dog cantina. The place has a lot of decor. The waitress was friendly and brought out our drinks then food quickly. I got the Rollin Nolan nachos which were great, second best nachos around for sure. Fly bar taking first place for nachos. My husband got the shrimp burrito and my friend got the fried lobster tacos. They both liked their meal. Their jalapeño Mac and cheese is good as well. They have drink specials all the time and a variety of food to choose from, including a breakfast menu. Never had anything from the breakfast menu but heard good things. Overall, they have good food with a good variety of choices. We will be going back.

I had the worst experience ever here. There was a cockroach on the bar. I can't even begin to imagine what is in the kitchen. And, when trying to be discreet and let the manager and owner know what I saw, I was verbally insulted and asked to leave. If you want an authentic Mexican experience, including roaches, this is the place. If you want excellent service, clean dining and good food, try someplace else. Will not return. Ever!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
