Very bad, oily mei fun, no veg at all, grey chicken. The oil was very stale tasting, I wouldnt have fed it to my dog. Oh and a fun little extra I noticed when picking up, an illegal (by visa MC standards a huge merchant violation) dollar upcharge which was not divulged for using a credit card. AVOID

I dont usually take time to write reviews, but this was a must. I have tried 15-20 different fast food chinese places in tampa over the past 7 years. Never before was I very impressed by the product. Tonight and our last order hss been a different story. You can tell immediately that they are not trying to pump out sub-par food at a fast pace. Instead they are taking time to produce a quality product that you can taste the love and passion they have for thier food. I am a HUGE fan and will yell it from the highest mountain in Tampa. Or just feom my cell phone

I only gave it two stars because it was just like most other places. The combo portion and price is comparable. The vegetables were fresh, but there was nothing special about the food. I was disappointed that the fried rice "plain" option with the combo platter was white rice with soy says sauce, not any egg or veggies. :(. The egg role wrapper was very think and a little over cooked & dry.

I am writing this review for my wife.I used to be a manager of a Chinese restaurant in upstate New York for 7 years so you can say I know a thing or too about Chinese food. I've eaten hong kong style Chinese food and dim sum in Canada, California, New York. After a long day of drinking celebrating the 4th of July, we got the munchies and realized the only place that would be open is a Chinese food place. My wife was hungry and she asked me to go get Chinese food. I ordered honey chicken combo. $10.36 later I was sitting in my kitchen staring at burnt white rice (no meat or onions etc in it) with soy sauce in it to make it dark, burnt chicken pieces and a egg roll with no sauces with it..oh yes...the wonton soup (meat inside was undercooked) without the crispy noodles as well. Basically I rather eat sand from Clearwater beach then ever eat at china wok again.

Horrible food. Dirty bathrooms. Slow as molasses service and so sorry to say but the servers accent was so thick we had a hard time communicating. The worst chinese rice ive ever had. Sub par sweet n sour chicken. Crappy eggroll. Ive no clue how people rate this place as good. Maybe they had an off day?

BEING TOLD WHAT TO ORDER/EAT WHEN YOU PAY FOR FOOD IS JUST PLAIN RUDE. BECAUSE ITS ON YOUR COMPUTER??? "SERIOUSLY"??? POOR PEOPLE SKILLS. Can RUIN THE GOOD REPUTATION A BUSINESS. Has built. I called to order food at 4:30 PM, Friday 9/19/2014. Being exact tonight cause any misunderstandings or excuses based on replies (which would be nice, from a manager or business owner).I spoke to A female that answered the phone to take my order, she had a fake accent spoke very fast. And said her name Mae(?), try to order from the special combination plates, well... Apparently, she suddenly became irritated because I was not quick enough to decidebetween eggroll or white rice fried rice etc. Imagine that?she went on with a very short brassy disposition, which quite surprised me. Never had we had a problem with this place. On the contrary, they have always received really good reviews from me on Yelp? I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt. I went on to correct her because her lack of professionalism was definitely there. She was very persistent that I would order wood we had always "" apparently ordered, in the past.she then proceeded to educate me on Chinese food. I told her been ordering Chinese food in Florida since 1969. And Chinese food that we eat here in the states. I told "Mae" I am quite aware that the Chinese food that is sold to the general public is usually the American version. Not the Chinese food from China. And, not the Chinese food that most Chinese people eat at home.I reminded her there were over 100 Chinese restaurants in this area within an 8 to 10 mile radius it is very popular, that's common knowledge.YOUR CUSTOMER IS YOUR BREAD AND BUTTER.No pun intended.FYI I ordered approximately 10 minutes ago and I went on to Yelp, to review this establishment again. It would be a shame to lose business, due to poor etiquette specially when it's a repeat customer and the customer approaches you with a nice greeting and nothing out of the ordinary he very Plesant actually. I did tell her look on the Internet and look for your review Mae and also by all means please look me up on YELP. Just to mention not that it's really that significant a basic order came to $31 and change. Now that's without gratuity, if I were the owner of China Wok I would really have a talk with this lady or give her even better yet, a long vacation she probably may need. I went as far as telling her that I understood she sounded very irritated. That working with the public is not easy but, you do not have to take these people home that you service and you do not live with them. It's just business but it does pay the bills.Being nice does not cost anything, but being rude unnecessarily in on called for DOS cost quite a bit when he comes to losing business of loyal customers. *I'LL BE SURE TO DUE A FOLLOW UP. Hopefully our food will turn out okay. Now I am worried (yikes).Who let you know. Let's see if I hear anything from management or person in charge. Sorry guys, I have recommended this place in the past has one of the best Chinese food sucked her in a long time. Maybe... This is a one time thing fingers crossed. Please keep on yelping! Have a happy and safe Friday fun weekend. CK OUT YELP EVENTS,TAMPA IS HAVING A SEAFOOD FESTIVAL :-) Try SOME.

The best in Americanized Chinese take out ive tried a variety of the menu and while they may not be the most authentic Chinese they are certainly the best and the quickest

For Americanized Chinese food, this place isn't bad. I ordered take out, and it was ready in 15 minutes. The lady at the register was friendly and offered me free soda since I spent more than $30 on the order. The spring rolls are bland, so I don't recommend them. But the roast pork fried rice, the Shanghai Mei Fun, and the sesame chicken were all solid. The chicken was nicely crispy. They say on their take-out menu that they deliver, so that's a nice convenience that I might try in the future.

Absolutely the best Chinese food I've had in Tampa. Her well cooked crisp and not too soggy. The sauce was the perfect amount, not too much and not too oily. The taste was fantastic!

Tried this place for the first time. I ordered the General Tso chicken combination plate (comes with fried rice and egg roll). The chicken was cooked well and wasn't mushy with sauce like many Chinese takeouts will do. The fried rice was very disappointing, though. It wasn't "fried rice" like any other takeout I have ever tried...didn't have meat, onions, carrots, peas or anything else beyond rice and the soy sauce it was fried with. Just didn't have any flavor. The egg roll was pretty decent and tasted "fresh", if that makes sense. Overall, I probably won't try this place again but it might work for others. I desire a good fried rice with Chinese food and not only that, it was more expensive than most others.

New York style Chinese food is my guilty little pleasure. I refuse to eat fast food as it makes my physically ill, however good New York style Chinese food when prepared correctly is a treat. I've been going to this China Wok for about 6 months now . The restaurant is clean and they have a quite little dinning area which I routinely see people having lunch in. Take out is fast and they do delivery to the local area. As for the food, I find it flavorful and correctly balanced in spices and sweetness (So many bad New York style Chinese places seem to saturate everything in sugar). Portions are fair, and the food is actually spicy when you request it so. I'm happy I found this place as good New York style Chinese places seem to be lacking in this area. Recommend when you need your quick fix.

We took a chance and tried China Wok. The food was delicious. We tried the egg rolls, crab Rangoon, pepper steak, chicken curry (not very spicy), white rice, and pork fried rice - everything was fresh and tasty!

Best Chinese food around our area in South Tampa. Very sweet lady at the front, nice family runs the place. Good portions, food is always fresh and hot.

Right on when it comes to flavor and texture. A bit pricey for the small portions though, otherwise I would have given it a higher rating.

Really fresh food. It's kinda pricey but the servings are huge. The owners are very nice and the place is always very clean. Probably the best Chinese food in Tampa, besides PF Changs.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
