YOU CAN Order your food online! Get out! I'm there! Basic American Chinese food. Quick, cheap, easy, and efficient when you need food fast! The flavors are not amazing but not bland either and the crab rangoon are yummy!! They give a ton of food too so you'll have enough for leftovers, unless you eat a lot already... Most people do the take out or delivery version. It's not a good place to take a first date. =)

Totally solid delivery place for basic Chinese American food. The moo shu has a good flavor, but whatever pancakes they offer are garbage. The Singapore noodles have a good flavor. Fried rice has a good amount of veg. Decent orange chicken. Delivery is reasonably quick and friendly.

It was your typical take out. Delivery was fast, food was hot and very tasty. Will definitely order again.

I've had China 1 several times and I havent had a bad experience. Chicken wings are are tasty, almost as good as mine :) Jumbo shrimp fried rice is delicious. Shrimp egg rolls are tasty. General Tso Chicken is pretty good too! No compliants here!

Sometimes you just have a craving for some quick, cheap "NY style" Chinese Food. The lunch specials are huge, definitely difficult to finish in one sitting. These typically comprise of fried rice, some form of meat (I always go with Chicken - usually General Tso), an egg roll and a drink. China 1 is hard to differentiate from their peers - other NY style quick serve Chinese food. I wouldn't say they are super friendly but they are also not rude. The dining areas always look passable but not necessarily super clean. Still, when you are in the mood for it, you are in the mood for it.

We order from here a lot as they are right around the corner. Also, you can order online. Delivery is fast and they have really good sesame chicken. Their fried rices are also great.

I always order lunch specials, it's the best food for the best price! I always get the sweet and sour chicken with pork fried rice and an egg roll. Their wonton soup is AMAZING. I love their chicken and broccoli as well as their chicken lo mein. For dinner they offer combinations which I think are the best deal, it's just like a lunch special but for dinner and possibly a dollar or two more. Very quick and amazing online ordering website !!!

On a quest to find Shredded Beef Szechuan Style in Tampa (like I've had in DC and NY) - this place did not fulfill the quest. The beef was grisly and not well shredded. The sauce was mkay - typical American "Szechuan" sauce - oily and brown - which isn't close to the real thing. The chicken curry tasted better (albeit gelatinous when cool - kinda gross). The chicken was actually tender and moist. Just wish the chicken had been cut into smaller pieces. And the quest continues... any tips out there?

My experience with this place HAD been decent....up until today. Place an order, and within an hour, my credit card had been compromised. Four other people that work where I work {right down the road from this place} had also had their debit cards compromised/stolen in the last few weeks....and the only tie that binds, is this Chinese food place. DO NOT EVER GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO, it is not safe. Someone who works there is selling credit card info, so I will NEVER order from this place again. Super shady, if you ask me. I am a VERY dissatisfied customer. Just wanted to warn anyone who is contemplating eating from/ordering food here.

I have not found many places that have good won ton soup since moving to Tampa. I had the craving as I was passing by China 1 and decided to give them a try. I was pleasantly surprised. For $3.00 I got a large container that was really hot and good. They also offer Lunch specials for $5.25 that come with your choice of dish, pork or white rice, an egg roll and a canned soda of your choice.

I was there for the lunch special which was fairly cheap for a soda and a meal

Szechuan chicken was good but their spring roll was so greasy that it was dripping with oil, I had just one bite. A week later I order Kung Pao chicken(without eggroll of course) and what a disappointment! Almost half the dish comprised of celery, with hardly any peanuts and chicken. That's why the "lunch special" is offered so incredibly cheap. I would rather pay $8 instead of $6.15, and get better quality.

Well I am thoroughly disappointed. The delivery took forever and I live right behind the building. Once the food got there is was pretty disappointing. I got the hot and spicy shrimp and it wasn't spicy at all, actually it was very sweet. I ate the shrimp out of it mostly and threw the rest of the combination platter away. I know it's not a high class Chinese place but it was just terrible.

1 little star....because Yelp doesn't score in star decimals and I ate the chicken and didn't die. The white rice is only edible when smothered in sauce and the egg drop soup is not worth 50 cents. I will say, this is the only Chinese "fast" food that is both affordable and edible near the SOHO (South Howard) area. Just don't actually uneven think about sitting and eating here; you will get grossed out! Yes, I took the picture of the chicken and white rice......and yes that brown table in the picture is one from Moe's grill on the corner. I am disgusted with myself!

One of several China 1 restaurants in the area. Not a chain, just a popular name {how many 1st Baptist churches are there?) this one is in the same strip mall as Sweetbay and Moe's on Dale Mabry. Layout, menu, quality, quantity, price and speed are pretty much the same as and all the others in the family.

0 STARS!! This was my first and will be my only time visiting this china1. Ordered the boneless BBQ spare ribs for dinner about 5pm and they were the worst I ever had. I didn't die from eating them...yet. But very little flavor and the sauce was about 99% oil and 1% BBQ. Would never recommend!

The lunch special is a great deal. For $5.62 (tax included) you get a lot of food plus a drink. You have 32 choices for that price. Large portions too so if you don't eat a lot then you have leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

Lunchtime... a nice sized and tasty portion ofSteamed chicken and Vegetables. Nice sauce on the side. The two hairs found in the food, kept this from making four stars. I will be grabbing a prepared steamed chix and veggies from my local shop for my lunch in the future.

Timely deliveries. Cheap and tasty wings. Plenty of food for the price. Now a regular.

The first time I had chicken lo mein at this place, I loved it so much that I came back for more at least 2-3 times more that week and at least once a week after the initial OCD died down. The service is like most other chinese places and let's face it, you don't go to chinese take out places for the service. The dining area isn't that clean either, but the food is fairly impressive aside from the occasional let downs.

Standard strip mall Chinese - complete with the standard green faux-marble laminate tables, sticky surfaces, and questionable hygiene. But the food was okay, cooked quickly, in good portions and tasted good reheated. A good stop when you need a quick dinner but not a special occasion. $7.95 bought General Tso's, pork fried rice, and an eggroll.

Almost all China 1's are top notch for their genre. Quick, cheap, tasty. Can't beat the amount of food you get with the lunch special.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
