Had the Chicken Curry Roti 5 dollar Wednesday special. Also had a Jamaican beef patty. Chicken Curry Roti had amazing spicy curry flavor. Homemade Jamaican beef patty was one of the best I have ever had. What a nice change from the generic patty from Jerk Hut. Get some of their homemade scotch bonnet hot sauce on side which goes great with the patty and really anything :) The lady behind the counter was so friendly. Tara's Roti Shop could take some lessons from this place in service. So much more pleasant. Homemade Sorrel Juice is very tasty and helps cut the scotch bonnet heat. LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE. This is my new go to Caribbean restaurant in Tampa.

This is a go-to when choosing take out that never disappoints. Clean, quiet, with a great atmosphere. This is a local small business run by the lovely Devika who delivers fresh, cheap, authentic, and deliciously consistent food in huge portions. I frequent this establishment weekly and I have never been disappointed by the quality and service. Highly recommend! As a vegan, this place is a gem with variable choices. Whether dining in, or carrying out, Caribbean Crown is a must!

Awesome, authentic, affordable island cuisine. Large vegetarian selection! A favorite for sure!

I've been trying to find a place to curb my roti cravings permanently and I found it. Excluding the fact the prices are so darn reasonable, as well as the portions, the food itself is simply amazing. This, as well as the quick and friendly service made the experience well worth it. Go out your way for this place, you won't regret it. Oh, and they make their own ginger beer!

This place is a gem and so is the lady that runs it. The goat and oxtail are my favorite. The prices are great by themselves but there is a lunch special every day for like five bucks. Everything is halal and made onsite every day so be warned that she does run out of dishes sometimes! Also, unfortunately, they are closed on Sundays. There is always plenty of parking out front.

Authentic, inexpensive and delicious. It was very clean. If you are okay with a non-corporate vibe, this place will make you happy.

I have little (and by that I mean no) experience in Caribbean food, but what better way than to jump right in, amirite? Don't be off-put by the plaza this restaurant is in, it is very cozy and clean inside. I've had roti before, so that was my go-to: curry chicken roti. It seems like they make everything fresh and to order. They can make it spicy or not spicy; I was intimidated by ordering anything "spicy" here because I feel that could have ended badly for me. The aroma and flavors of the curry were really great, but the highlight was the roti skin! It was a bit thicker than the roti I have had before, with a nice stretchy quality and just addictive! Even after sitting in my car for 15-20 minutes, the roti was not soggy at all! I wasn't planning on eating the whole thing, but it just happened naturally. My Americanized palette was confused with the bone-in chicken in my roti, but it looks like that's the more authentic way to serve roti. But I will say that I am not used to picking out bone and gristle, let alone crunching on it when I'm trying to enjoy lunch. That being said, it was still tasty despite my American tendencies and preferences! Overall, I would totally come back and try some of their other specials. Great place to stop for some authentic, inexpensive Caribbean food.

Great portions and very well priced, which is really appreciated in a college area. I came here for Lunch with a friend. Very friendly lady was working. I asked for recommendations and she mentioned oxtail which I picked. My friend on the other hand got the lunch special which was chicken stew for 5 bucks! And with the oxtail being one of their higher priced items we could get a feel for the range of quality. My friend loved the side of cabbage. I wasn't impressed, but we both love my rice and beans. Very yummy. The meat of both dishes was generous but nothing amazing. I highly recommend the lunch special if you want a generous price on a home cooked meal. However, I wouldn't drive out of my way to go there.

I like it HOT and this place serves it that way! I love Caribbean food! Well I love all food really. What's great about this place is that it serves almost every dish you can think of. From Jerk chicken, salted fish, red snapper, vegetarian choices to curries all the way to their homemade beverages and pasties. You get a taste of the island life off of bush blvd... I especially love their side item called a double. Typical street food found in Trinidad. Don't forget to ask them to give you the hot sauce on the side. Because scotch bonnet pepper leaves a fruitful after taste but a hard burn. Would recommend coming here if you want to get a taste of island life!

First time to Caribbean Crown. I was greeted by the owner, she was very helpful with the menu and fun person to talk to. I chose "the double" which is a spicy veggie dumpling. Thumbs up! Then I ate half of the "curry beef roti." Loved it. It was served in a very thin "pita like" bread. The restaurant is small, cozy, affordable & clean. Can't wait to go back!

I wound up at Caribbean Crown because my wife's boss wanted to introduce me to some Jamaican food. His reason for choosing this particular place was that Caribbean Crown has a vegetarian menu that J-Fur and I could select from. Upon entering Caribbean Crown, I was surprised to see that it reminded me a lot of some pizza places back in PA. There was a very small seating area, beverages were all bottled or canned and in a cooler off to the side that you grabbed yourself, your order was taken at a counter, the food was cooked in back, brought out on a tray and wrapped in paper. Payment for your meal was collected at the end. The vegetarian menu includes a number of different rotis and a "sandwich" called a double. I had no idea what either of these were so, on recommendation from the counter person, I ordered two doubles, a roti and a side of fried plantains. Judging by the prices, I figured the food amount would be small (these four items would run me about 12 bucks). Boy did I botch that one. The waitress brought out J-Fur and her bosses' trays first. Then she went back for my TWO. Yep, so much food it wouldn't fit on one tray. One thing is for sure, Caribbean Crown doesn't skimp on their portions. But would it taste good? That's what I was about to find out. I decided to start with one of the double sandwiches. They were unlike any sandwich I'd ever had. The "bread" was similar to an Indian puri meaning that it was puffy and unleavened. The texture reminded me of bread that had been soaking in liquid for a bit. It was firm and held together, but it had an almost slimy feel. I'm not doing the meal justice, comparing it to slime, but I really have never eaten anything that was similar. Inside the bread was a chickpea and potato mixture that had a bit of sweetness (cinnamon?). I added some hot pepper sauce to it. The sandwich was excellent. I loved the sweet/spicy/sloppy combo and the softness of the bread. I would return (and did a few weeks later) just to eat a double. Next I turned my sights to the roti. Caribbean Crown's version of the roti was very similar to a burrito but instead of stuffing the insides with lettuce, salsa, guacamole, cheese and beans, it is filled with a potato and chickpea mixture (they have other vegetarian roti fillings, but this is the one we went for). The roti lacked the sweetness of the double but upped the spice a bit. It wasn't enough to make J-Fur back away but it made its presence felt. The roti was huge, completely filling and delicious. I would call it some of the best ethnic cheap eats in Tampa. Overall impressions? I returned two weeks later. Does that say enough? I loved it. I enjoyed both sandwiches and the unique qualities they brought to the table. Caribbean Crown gives you a lot of food for very little price. I picked up the tab for the meal and three rotis, two doubles, three drinks, fried plantains and dessert only set me back a little over thirty dollars.

This place has some of the best Caribbean dishes in Florida. The food is spiced accurately and tastes just like home. It is also a good spot to try if you are vegetarian.

This place is a sweet little Caribbean delight, this is my second time coming here to get my roti fix and I'm glad i did. The food is delicious and spiced beautifully. The curry and chicken stew roti is great, love the pumpkin. Think this is a decent fix if you're looking for trini cuisine. Haven't had there Jamaican meals yet, (oxtails and the like) but I'm willing to try.

I really like this place. The owner is really nice! The portions are large and they are priced very well. I've had the stew chicken and curry chicken and roti and I wasn't disappointed. The only thing that really takes one star is that the plantain has been overcooked every time I've ordered it and the I would have like a little more seasoning of the chicken. BUT I will be back often and I'm glad that there is a Guyanese-owned spot so close to work. I'm watching my weight, but I'm looking forward to trying the pineapple upside-down cake one day.

i am so excited to see a halal caribbean place. they have lunch and dinner specials everyday and prices are very reasonable. portions are huge! customer service is EXCELLENT here and i love how the owner remembers my preferences. there are a lot of things on the menu that i can't wait to try! here is what i had so far: - oxtail: glad i can say i tried it. it came in a thick broth with beans. it was good, but i was a little weirded out eating oxtail. perhaps i should have started with baby steps. - roti: huge and similar to desi roti - doubles: it's like a puri (type of indian bread) sandwich with a chana (or chickpea) and potato mixture filling and spicy sauce; very good - pineapple upside down cake: thick slice and it was REALLY good! i've also had it with some guava and it was soooo good! - jerk chicken: my favorite item on the menu so far! it's perfectly seasoned and the meat just falls off the bone - collard greens: tried it here for the first time; it's good - cabbage: very good; probably my favorite side of vegetables here - fried rice: i love rice and this goes along perfectly with jerk chicken - stew chicken: very hearty and filling
