High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. Sweat & Spicy Bacon Burger will add extra 1080 calories in your diet so skip that as well. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

Came here and ordered the Tex Mex Haystack burger and a side of fries with a drink. My total was around $13 which was a bit outrageous considering you order your food at a counter and get your own drinks, napkins etc. The food was ok, my burger was really salty, I think it was from the onion strips, so I took them off. The fries were very unimpressive. Overall the food was alright, but way too overpriced for a burger and fries.

They got the shakes that will make you quake, the fries that will cross your eyes, and the burgers that'll.. Well they got the burgers

Really good, juicy burgers! They have some unique combinations, such as the Philly cheese burger, which has grilled peppers and onions, provolone, white American cheese, and Dijon chive mayo. The Cinco burger also sounds delish, which has lettuce, tomato, guacamole, salsa, jalapeños, Monterey jack cheese, and a cilantro cream sauce. They also have seafood burgers, veggie, chicken, and turkey burgers, as well as hot dogs and salads. Pretty much something for everyone. I haven't visited any of their other Tampa locations, but this one really hit the spot for our group. Along with the Philly burgers, we also tried the cheesy sliders, fries, a chocolate peanut butter shake, and a Bobby J Sundae. For 3 adults and a toddler, the bill was about $40, which I think is reasonable, and def doesn't break the bank. One star off for a few errors, such as forgetting jalapeños on one of the burgers, and cooking it to medium well, when they were asked to make the burger medium rare. It kind of threw us off when we recieved our burgers that all the buns were cold. I like mine toasted, so maybe I'll have to ask them to do that next time I go. Also, one of us didn't receive their shake until the end of the meal, and we had to go back to the register to ask for it. I can't say it was because they were very busy, since even though the restaurant was mostly full, and there was never really a line to order. Another plus for those of you who like to take their pooch out to lunch with them, they have a dog friendly patio for you to enjoy your meal, and even give out little dog biscuits. How cute! So far, our little group thinks the food here is better then Burger Monger down the street, and we will definitely be back for more!

Bad overall upper management. They don't care about there managers and they are 100% fake. Food getting cheaper and cheaper quality. Overall, a few years ago they used things like Kens steakhouse mayo, now, a off brand generic. In there menus it lists there burger are on a Brioche bun. Well it's not, it's a buttery topped generic bun. Isn't that false advertisement? There going down in quality. Don't eat there.

I tried the cinco burger , sweet potato fries, and a drink. The burger was tasty and I liked that it was made to order. However, the best part of the meal was the sweet potato fries. They're very yummy and there are approx. 10 very inventive sauces for dipping, such as marshamallow!, Thai Ketchup, etc. Only downside is that its slightly expensive for "fast food". I paid about 14 total. Next time I may try a decadent shake! Toodles

Very good food the burger was cooked perfect. The people are nice the service was good. I would put it in the top 3 list

Fries are good, milkshakes are Amazing...but the burgers are meh. Wesley Chapel has a myriad of burger joints, so for one to offer average burgers my willingness to eat there is diminished. The eating area needs to be kept up with better and trash cleaned up and the tables wiped down more frequently. There were many tables open, but none suitable to sit at.

This place is good, but isn't all that great. We came for their Thursday special: 2 sliders and fries for $4.99 They were the perfect size for my preschooler and infant. I loved that B21 offers the option of different potatoes. Of all the "gourmet burger" joints, I like the fries here to most. It is crispy and not greasy or soaking in grease. I ordered the Burger 101. The brioche bun isn't really a brioche bun or it is a stale one. The bun would break as if it was stale. It wasn't rich like a French version. The burger overall is a good tasting one. They have a condiment bar which is great for my little ones, who went crazy over the different sauces to try. I love the bar for the shakes. I wish I had known that they are pet friendly on the patio. It would be nice to take the whole entire family to dinner instead of one always being stuck at home.

I don't get all the fuss about Burger 21. Everything that is different about the place is unrelated to the food. The prices are high, the decor is chic and the staff members seem to be some kind of hipster cult members. That's all cool. The food, however, is utterly unremarkable. It's not bad at all and there were parts of my meal that were undeniably tasty. Still, there are other burgers to be had at different places that will make you forget Burger 21's offerings soon enough.

The fries were way over salted, they were cooked properly just over seasoned. The burger I got (the philly, cooked medium well) was way too small for the bun, had almost no onions and peppers on it and it was dripping with grease. The burger my friend got was cooked well enough and not dripping with grease. The hand washing station was pretty cool though.

We got takeout and really liked it! I had the black bean burger and it was really flavorful. It came with a delicious sauce on it. The sweet potato fries were ok, but a little too thin for my taste. I had a taste of my husband's chocolate shake and it was really good! We'll definitely be back!

Weary and exhausted after spending the day on a trek to the Apple Store in Brandon (Tampa location is closed for another month or so), my wife and I gave in to the rumbling sensation in our stomachs and stopped here for a late lunch. We have by driven by quite a few times and have always wanted to check it out. Modern chic decor greeted us after walking in and we ordered. My only complaint is the tipping system. I completely overlooked it by mistake after paying. It's a pay before you sit down style of restaurant and it can be a little confusing. My wife ordered the Black and Bleu and I partook in the Tex-Mex Haystack. Both burgers were great. Ingredients seem well sourced and execution was pretty good. The fries were awesome. Crispy, not soggy or dripping with grease and seasoned well. The Tex-Mex was very tasty with the guac and jalapeño sauce. Nice offset of heat and earthy flavors on top of the bacon, Gouda and beef. The price was a little more than I was expecting but that happens every once in awhile. We will definitely be back. In fact, I noticed they have locations and Orlando and informed a friend of mine out there. Good job Burger 21!

This is a good place, however I don't think the burgers are as good as burger monger. But they're sweet potato fries are really good. They have a great assortment of sauces to choose from, which is a major plus. There is a bizarre tipping structure where you have to tip at the register and people bring food out to you after you tip. I thought that was a little confusing.

We visited this Burger 21 after months of talking about it. The burgers were so good and the staff was accommodating when we made a special request for chili cheese fries. In addition to the fries, we ordered the the bacon cheesy, the cheesy burger and the cookies and cream shake. Everything tasted good and left us feeling full. I do think the bacon in the bacon cheesy made a huge difference when comparing the two burgers we ordered which had similar toppings. We still haven't tried the nearby Burger Monger, mainly because we feel so overwhelmed by the menu there whereas at Burger 21 keeps is simple while delivering a good quality product. We also liked the special hand washing station. We also liked that the manager came by to check out how we were doing and was interested in knowing our opinions and sharing information about the restaurant with us. We will definitely be back.

If you go, order a burger. My wife and daughters ordered chicken tenders, hot dogs, seafood burgers, etc. They were very unremarkable. If there is "burger" on the sign chances are... Anyway, decent burger. Not the best or worst if this crowded field. I think this category is getting watered down.

Delicious but a bit pricy feeding a family of five. The last time we went, my son and I tried the sliders. They were so juicy and flavorful - I didn't completely expect that. The selection of burgers overall is very interesting. The buffalo chicken burger was good, but not spicy enough so ask for hot sauce on the side. And they have a GF menu with halfway decent buns.

Two stars for the following reasons: At their price range; they should be delivering way better then what I've had so far. Here's a breakdown from 2 visits: 1st visit I had the Black & Blue Burger Mid Rare with Fries and reg drink = $12.38. The bun overpowered overall taste of the burger which was surprising & disappointing. If this were McDonalds then that would be preferable but they're not. I tasted the beef without anything and it was fresh and very good. They also serve it at a REAL Medium Rare for true beef lovers! Although you need to request a bun that doesn't take away from tasting the beef. 2nd visit I had the Ahi Tuna Burger. All i can say is do NOT order it because It was NOT fresh! It smelled and tasted horrible! Thankfully there was a lot of sauce to cover up the taste. That was a huge waste of $17 for one person-could've gotten 2-3 fresh tuna sushi rolls at a local sushi restaurant for that price. Bottom-line: Stick with their beef burgers since that's what they sell the most and try to get a bun that doesn't overpower the taste of their beef, which is very good IF you can taste it.

This place is like if BurgerMonger and Square1 Burgers had a child. It's set up a little more like BurgerMonger where you order and then sit down, but has some more creative options and more specialty burgers than BurgerMonger but not quite as many as Square1. Burger 21 was much nicer than I expected. Very clean and trendier-looking inside than I expected. I got the BBQ Bacon Burger (lettuce, tomorrow, bacon, cheddar, onion strings, bbq sauce) and it was perfect. It was probably bigger than my head. My boyfriend had the Black & Bleu burger... I tried his burger and it was slightly overwhelming and the bleu cheese was very mild. The dessert tasted freaking amazing, though the cookie kind of stuck to the bottom and was difficult to get off. Our dessert came out before our burgers did, which was weird, and so the ice cream was pretty melty by the time we had finished our food. The burgers came out pretty quickly, though -- within 5-10 minutes. I'm very intrigued by their seafood burger (they have a Spicy Thai Shrimp burger and an Ahi Tuna burger) but I figured for my first time I should go for one of the more "normal"/typical burgers. I definitely want to come back to try these. My favorite part was all the different ketchups/sauces they have! They're very unique and a lot of fun. I got little samples of all of them and tried them all. The different flavors they had when I was there were: Toasted Marshmallow, Apple Cider, Chipotle Mayo, Ragin' Cajun, Ranch, BBQ, Honey Mustard, and Thai Ketchup. The Toasted Marshmallow was way too sweet and kind of tasted like caramel. I really enjoyed the Apple Cider -- it was a little sweet (but not as sweet as the Toasted Marshmallow) and also a little tangy. Also loved the Thai Ketchup (which is also slightly sweet and tangy). Their honey mustard and ranch sauces were fantastic, as well. I think the honey mustard was my favorite overall. I highly recommend joining the B21 Club -- all you have to do is sign up online and they will send you e-mails with coupons. My boyfriend had a coupon for a free chocolate chip cookie sundae and I had one for free regular fries. So we were able to get 2 burgers, fries, and a dessert for about $16. Not bad at all!! Huge downside is the location. Unless you live in Wesley Chapel (which I do not), this place is so far from anything.

The buns are amazing. Creme Brule and Bananas Foster shakes are out of this world yummy. Black Bean Burger, Philly Cheese Burger are awesome. Really exceptional burgers. Shoestring style fries. Try the sweet potato fries with the toasted marshmallow sauce- its strangely addictive. Thai ketchup is also really good. Love this place. Utilize online ordering as this place gets super busy.

Not near as good quality of meat as burger monger. Not bad but for the price I'd choose burger monger everyday of the week.

I met a friend here for lunch last week. I drove 45 minutes to get to this side of town for the company, but I still had high expectations for the food. I. Have to say I was pretty impressed. It was fairly busy so we waited about 10 minutes to order at the counter. I spent a lot of time checking out menu. I was pretty impressed with the creative burger choices, but no so impressed with the prices. I ordered the black bean burger and sweet potato fries. I did not like the fact that sides have to be ordered separate. I think that really jacks up the price. Almost $15 for counter service is a bit steep. We got our selves serve sodas and sat down a d our food was out pretty quickly. The food was all awesome. Everything seemed fresh and was very low on grease. We didn't order desert, but the cookies and shakes looked pretty delicious. Next time maybe. I also liked the atmosphere. The decor was modern with a variety of booths, tables, high tops and outdoor seating. In spite of the high price, I would definitely eat here again. Hopefully they will open a south Tampa location in the near future so I can at least save a little on gas!

Umm......WOW!!!!! This place is so cool. What a great burger place! The menu and styles of burgers available are vast and very very unique. Ranging from your traditional all american cheese burger to an Ahi tuna burger...you can make many choices. All made to order! You can choose between regular fries or sweet potato fries. I went with sweet and my friend went with regular. What I loved about this place was their "ketchup bar" This is what makes it so unique. They have about 12 different flavors of ketchup and general sauces to help compliment your burger. The suggestions are posted above each option of which one it will pair well with. My favorite was the Toasted Marshmallow ketchup...I know sounds crazy, but it is CRAZY GOOD!!! Went very well with the sweet potato fries. I ordered the Mexican themed burger, I forgot the actual name. With guacamole, cilantro-lime mayo and pepper jack cheese. Very good! They have a very chic and cool seating area along with outside seating where you and your pet can enjoy a burger. The prices were a little on the higher end, but you are paying for good quality food and service, so it was not that bad. Delicious!

Tried it for the first time for something new, we use to hit Burger Monger and wanted a break. Part of the party like their burgers better here. Did like that they had salads and chicken tenders and other things. Had 3 different shakes all were good, Peaches N Cream was flavor of the month. Shakes came kind of slow though. Pet friendly, although we dont have. Two people ordered the sliders and they were more bun than meat. Fries are almost shoestring they are so thin, we prefer them a little thicker. They had a lot of different sauces which were nice, enjoyed the Thai Ketchup. We will give a second shot and see what we like better!

The latest fast-casual burger concept de-jour. Don't know what happened to Burger 1 through 20. Guess it took them 20 tries before they got this concept right? Who knows. Rumor has it that they will franchise this concept into the Atlanta area, where I'm from. Wanting an advanced taste is what brought me to the New Tampa location. The menu here is a little pedestrian. For the most part is is just burgers, a few hot dogs, etc. Don't expect grass-fed beef, fancy grinds of different cuts or over-the-top toppings. It's just an angus burger. They cook it medium-well but still manage to keep the burger juicy. It's got a soft and delicate texture that's pretty good. Unfortunately there was no noticeable char. The brioche bun was delicious. Fries, about the size of McDonald's, are pretty good but nothing to write home about. They are not included in the basic burger. Expect to drop about ten bucks for a basic burger, fries and soft drink. I snitched a chicken finger from another at my table. These impressed me more. They were very tender, fresh and appeared to be hand-breaded. Their dipping sauce station has six or eight sauces to complement the chicken. I liked the cajun and chipotle mayo. All in all, Burger 21 is pretty good but doesn't rise above the crowded field of fast-casual burger concepts. But my assessment is probably wrong given the crowds at this place. Expect long lines and tough parking at this location!

Decided to go back and try Burger 21 because our previous visit was good. Perhaps the cook was having a bad day? When we received our burgers I called the manager over to ask if we could please have some more ketchup on our burger. I was being facetious! Literally could not find the meat because of all the ketchup and mustard drenching the bun. It was like they literally dipped the entire patty in ketchup. The manager actually said, "Maybe you asked for double ketchup"? Sure thing. That is why I am showing you the problem. When he tried to lift the bun off the meat -- it stuck with suction force because of all the ketchup. Yuck! Manager did not offer me a refund but a gift certificate for a return visit. No thank you -- Think I will stick to Burger Monger!

An overall good experience. A wide variety of burgers available to choose from. I have not had a bad burger there. That being said, you pay for the atmosphere and service. It is nice that they serve you and occasionally come by to help, but never enough to really be considered a waitress. If you have kids, the hand washing station is really cool (even if you don't have kids but are a kid at heart, it is pretty cool). I would recommend people to try it.

Burger 21 is an amazing burger restaurant that cooks 21 different kinds of burgers to order and constantly changes the 21st burger on the 21st of each month. During my visit there was a line but the shakes and fries basket for 4 people came promptly followed by each of our hamburgers which were done correctly to order, down to the extra patty on the OMG burger for my friend. The only problem with this location is where they have the Togo orders picked up on the other side of the restaurant away from the doors.

My husband and I have decided that we'd give this place a B-. We went for lunch reluctantly since a great friend had a disastrous experience here last week at dinner. Our expectations were low, and we came away saying we would give it another try. I ordered the veggie burger "Greek", a bean based burger with feta sauce, roasted peppers and veggies. The order was delivered promptly, but it was the wrong burger. After noting that the same thing happened to my friend last week I was very skeptical. The server corrected the rider, appologized by saying that they were training new staff. The burger was very good. I would definitely have it again and recommend it. My husband ordered a basic small cheeseburger and fries (we had a coupon for free fries, see below) the fries were cold and the brioche bun overwhelmed the taste of the burger. He also had a chocolate shake which was very good, blended to the correct consistency (we didn't loose our molars trying to suck it up the straw!) with a generous amount of real whipped cream on top. Definitively our new go-to place for shakes. We'll go back and try again. The restaurant needs management. No one is obviously in charge of checking the orders before they are delivered ( my friend and family had 3 burgers, all done incorrectly.) The store is new, clean and attractive. The menu is extensive for a burger place and a little more expensive than 5 Guys, but it's a different concept. Our lunch (with the free fries) came to $18. Burger 21, like most chain restaurants has a "club" you can join on their web site. When we decided in the morning that we were going here for lunch, we joined and got a coupon for free fries emailed to us almost immediately as a thank you for joining. Many restaurants now do this, and then periodically email free or reduced price offers.

It's an interesting take on the burger joint. Maybe because this place was so over-hyped I was sort of let down. For the price, it should have been a much better experience. It seemed pretty expensive for what it was but there was a lot of different ketchup choices, so yeah.

Burger 21- Highly recommended! We went twice (we usually don't do that) but the BBQ burger with bacon was phenomenal!!!! The fries are great especially with all the types of sauce you can dip them in! We had a cookie and two milkshakes and they were all fantastic! I can only image that everything on their menu is just as great! Highly recommended - don't question it!

I'm not really sure how to rate this place... I had an undercooked bland beef burger but a friend and my brother had the ahi tuna burger and loved it. Also the hand washing station is awesome... Stop by just for that!

Not a big burger fan, but that does't stop me from loving this joint. Rich chocolate shakes, good table service after your initial counter order, and fantastic fries. My boyfriend got the sweet potato fries with marshmallow dipping sauce and could not stop raving about the combo - "it's like Thanksgiving dessert," he said. I get the chicken fingers with buffalo sauce, and both the chicken and sauce are excellent. I detest non-spicy buffalo sauce, and this one was just right. Decorated like a 50's diner, cute and complete with an ice cream counter. Super busy during weekday lunch.

Tonight we again visited this establishment. We keep giving them a chance time and time again because we keep hearing and see them trying. The food is good, I had the Mediterranean veggie burger ( which is what I have ever time I go here). The burger itself is good, I ask for it to be extra hot ( temperature) because being a veggie burger I know it is frozen. This time it was warmer than last time, so I wold say it was better. The service that is a whole different story. First he young lady taking our order was a little overwhelmed. Maybe she was new or the fact that is was a Thursday and there were many people there? Our order took over 20 minutes to arrive, then a basket of fries arrived, w e waited an additional 10 minutes, before we received the remaining of the order. We were 7 people, so nothing too crazy ( at least we thought). A member of our party ordered a beer, which was not delivered, so he had to go up and get it from the counter. Not sure why it was not served at the time he ordered. The only reason I can ink of was the fact that the order taker may have been to young? At the end of the meal, the kids wanted shakes, we ordered 1 shake which took sometime, but no big deal. Then 2 additional shakes were ordered, that took a LONG time. Enough to make us go and cancel the order, we figured 10 minutes for 2 shakes that was a it too long. As we were canceling the shakes they came out. As we started to walk away the manager trainee ( Dave, I think that was his name) came out to the parking lot and gave us the money for the shakes and also gave us 2 orders of fries. He said " he was the manager trainee and wanted us o be happy and return". That was the only reason they got a 3 star rating. I would suggest either better training for he staff or new staff. Maybe that is sit too harsh, but we were not the only table with order issues. If they want to survive in the restaurant business they will need to step it up, specially at their prices.

Consistently awesome burgers. The shakes are great and I love the frozen yogurt option. My go to burger joint!

Burgers are really good here and look even prettier so you can proudly take a photo of it so your friends will be jelly that you're eating at such a yummy looking burger. I love their sauces they have for your fries and their milkshakes are the shiz. The ONLY thing about this place is the steep price! Geeze, for these prices I might as well go to a sit down restaurant and be served instead of ordering from a counter. Everything is a la carte so you buy your burger, but if you want fries (which of course you do!) then a drink, it starts to get pretty expensive. I went here with my two sisters and for 3 burgers, 1 big serving of fries and 3 drinks came to $40 plus they have a space for tip. I nearly freaked out when he told us the total cause I couldn't believe how expensive it was. I am a New Tampa resident and I was thinking of all the other places we could have gone to and got way more food for much less AND they were sit down restaurants. Don't get me wrong, the burger was delicious but not that delicious, ya know what I mean?

The restaurant manager at this location is horrible. He has one of the worst attitudes ever.

When I tell this is the best burger joint I've ever been to, you must come here!!! I got The Shroom Burger, and I added Jalapenos for about $7. The staff ask if you would like medium well or well done and I got mine medium well. The burger was seasoned to perfection and the bun wasn't too thin or thick. THE BEST BURGER EVER. It was juicy and meat is so tender. My bill was about $12 with a larger fry and a bottled water. It was worth it, I will be back to try other burgers!!!!

Love the burgers, fries, and milkshakes!!! It is a great place to get together with friends and family for a laid back, relaxed, conversation.

A really cool little burger joint. On the first visit, we were there awhile because we had to examine the menu and then once we sat down we had to try every dipping sauce from the sauce bar. They have unique sauces for burgers or fries including everything from "Cajun" to "toasted marshmallow". They also have regular fries or sweet potato. I only wish they had a little bigger dinning room, and more staff because they tend to run slow and not have any clean tables available. If you haven't been, it is worth a try and I recommend dinning in on your first visit so that you can make multiple trips to the sauce bar until you figure out the combination that makes you smile.

Love coming in for a quick bite and it doesn't get any better than my go to meal which is Bacon Cheesy sliders and Creme Brûlée milkshake and I always ask for it medium well since medium is just a bit too juicy/messy for me. Yet to have a bad burger here! The friendly staff and an always clean dining area are a plus as well.

It has been a while since we were here, & the last time we were here, my hubby, mom, & I did not care for it. I said let's try it again. The server was super helpful suggesting for me to try something after I let him know what I was thinking of. I am always wanting to modify my whole order, & he was ok with that. I ordered the 'shroom burger for my hubby this time, and the black bean burger substituting the black bean burger for a regular beef burger with the same fixings. We didn't order fries. We don't like the thin ones that they have. Both burgers were boring. The most taste they had were just a whole bunch of salt. They were dry as well. Water was the best part of my meal bc I had to rehydrate from the dry and salty taste. Maybe they think all their sauces will make it all better. If that's the case, then just order the sauces then because that's all you will taste. I tried to give them another chance. They got one too because they are dog friendly. Nope didn't work for us. Sadly enough, we are done.

My work colleagues and I have dined at Burger 21 several times due to being in the area for a meeting. Burgers are not a food I crave. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. The burgers were just ok to me, but my co-workers seemed to enjoy their meal. Nothing wowed me, but like I stated earlier, burgers don't really do it for me. Parking can be an issue. Burger 21 is located in a very high traffic shopping center, so you may have to park quite a distance away.

To starylt, my kid would eat Burger 21 over anything...wherever we go he asks if there is one. The burgers are good...I would not classify as great, but for fast, scratch that, 'quick' service food it was fine. The fries are good and they have several dipping sauces to go with them. The chocolate shake was excellent...although I have never run into one I didn't like. Service is slow and the staff seems to want to socialize rather than take orders or make the shake.

The employees are horrible at remembering orders. The first time I ordered half regular fries and half sweet potatoes but got just regular fries. I'm really mad over that. The second time my brother ordered the kids cheeseburger that came with fries and they forgot to include the fries. We told an employee ad they gave us the fries. The kids' cheeseburger is dry but the chicken tenders are really good. The regular fries are bland and need more salt but the sweet potato fries are awesome. The sauces are delicious. The staff is nice but I think that they aren't completely focused on their job. The drinks are also good. There is not enough fries. A friend's experience: While getting my drink, the employees would endlessly complain about their job to the point were I had to leave the drink station.

Excellent pig out spot. And for the size of them, the burgers are extremely reasonably priced. Also loved all of the dipping sauce varieties. Had the tex-mex haystack burger and it was delicious. Will definitely be back

Went here for the first time to celebrate with a friend. It seemed like they had an easy ordering system and friendly staff. I also appreciated the decent beer selection. In terms of facilities, their most memorable thing to me was the automatic hand washer. I recommend you take a spin if just for novelty's sake. For food, I had the spicy thai shrimp burger. The flavor was decent, but it did have this odd fluffy consistency. Me thinks this was due to adding egg whites and starch to keep it together. It was however well-cooked and had the right amount of crisp. The bun was fresh and soft. The fries I had weren't very memorable. I did like the many dipping sauce options which were fun. Overall, I would go back to try more stuff if I were in the area. I wouldn't necessarily make a special trip out to it from where I live.

I am new to Tampa we wanted to try something different and ran across this place. The food was good. I tried the sliders but was never asked for a temperature it was a bit under done for my taste but was still a good burger. I got a bit confused with the sizes and have the milkshake size wrong to the person making them so the manager up sized all of ours to the larger size no charge with was cool. Over all a great place next time I will be sure to let the order taker know how I would like my burger cooked.

Place is cool and the hand washing station is very cool. I like that they have a little patio area for outside eating. The shakes are just ok...my husband LOVES milkshakes and didn't even order one the second time we went back to Burger 21. The food is good, but they mess up our order every time...which is unfortunate b/c it steers me away to try other places. They deliver the food to the table but make people stand in line to order at one of two registers...I wish they'd change this and just have table service so people can enjoy the company they came to eat with. I don't think they opened too long ago, so I'll continue to support them when I'm in the mood for a burger in hopes they get the quality of service up to par...b/c if they can master the service and getting orders right they have a cool little place to eat!

This is an updated review after trying their gluten-free shroom burger and fries. The gluten-free bun was thick and soft, but a bit crumbly. The fries were very good. Overall great GF burger.

Love this restaurant!! Yummy food and it comes out fresh and pretty quickly! I definitely recommend this especially for lunch. They even have outdoor seating and allow dogs

Love their strawberry shortcake hand spun milkshake. This shake is so rich and smooth and they actually put slices of cake in the milkshake. They are a little pricey for fast food but it is worth every penny. Prices range from $5.75 to $7.95 for a burger. The Mediterranean grilled chicken burger is so delicious. The roasted red peppers adds flavor to the sandwich. The burger 101 which is their basic burger is great too. If you order fries it's enough for sharing.

This place is an all around five for a burger place. The interior was relatively modern and clean looking. The burgers were huge and really juicy. I ordered the OMG burger, and it was almost too much. Also had the malt chocolate milkshake; it was divine. Online complaint is that it's a little expensive, but it's worth the trip.

Had dinner here last night. My ex said he didn't like it because the burgers were too greasy, so I knew I had to try it. The restaurant is modern and clean, and the food was decent. My burger didn't seem any more greasy than normal. It was nice to be able to order beer and wine with our burgers and fries, but it was a bit pricey. My friend had the tex mex and loved it. I had the cheesy burger which came with cheddar and tasted...pretty normal. There was a sauce bar with 8 varieties on top of plain ketchup and mustard, and our favorite by far was the toasted marshmallow. Who knew a burger and fries could taste so delicious topped with toasted marshmallow sauce?

I will not go back to this place. The menu looked good...but, unfortunately I have dietary issues and I wanted to order a grilled cheese. They refused to let me order a grilled cheese because it was on the kids menu. They wouldn't sell it to me for up charge. I find this ridiculous as most restaurants you go to allow anyone to order off of the kids menu. I don't understand the refusal of letting adults order off of the kids menu, I am paying for a smaller amount of food. Awful service and awful policies. Incredibly disappointed. Just went to Red Robin, better service am they let me get my kids meal grilled cheese. Burger 21, you just lost all of our business.

A good burger place. Very family friendly. Saw tons of children there. Found actual shrimp in their shrimp burger which was a pleasant surprise. It could have been a little fresher however for a "fast food" restaurant they executed it pretty well. Would go there again.

The burgers are good here but I did find them to be salty. Their sides are very limited to fries or a side salad. The side salad was nicely chilled and very good. I would recommend that they add other sides like cole slaw, potato and/or macaroni salad because everyone does not eat fries.

Best bean burger I've had in a long time. Very filling, didn't fall apart and delicious. We also had the sweet potato fries which were thin cut & cooked to perfection. Restaurant also had about 8 different dipping sauces to try with your meal. Curiosity got me to try the toasted marshmallow sauce with my sweet potato fries and the combo was awesome. They also have beef burgers, chicken burgers, seafood and hot dogs. Definitely something for everyone. They also have a self-washing hand station you have to try out. Very cool.

1st time & last time @ this location! Waited 15 minutes in line to order! Line was to the door & only one register open. Staff was nice & helpful EXCEPT for the manager!!! Waited an additional 30 minutes for 3 hamburgers! Sweet potato fries came out first & were delicious; then the burgers 25 minutes later! Burger was hot, but only had a 1/4 piece of bacon manager tried to explain that was correct & that it was a full piece & a half! The single slice of tomato was white w/ part of the stem attached! I brought it the managers attention & showed her the bacon which she did bring out more bacon however she brought me another a white tomato! The manager had a bad attitude & asked me, "what do you want me to do! I'm trying to fix it!" I stated I just expected a bit more for an $8 dollar burger! By the time all this back & forth was done & I got extra bacon & another pinkish tomato my burger was now room temperature @ best! Burger 21 I'm done! Burger Monger from here on out!

I really don know what all the low rating is about .......Burger 21 a great place to get a burger (of several types). The place was clean, modern and the hand washing station was the coolest thing I have seen. We got there around 5:30-6:00 it was busy (friday night) but we got our order taken in about 5 mins. The staff was friendly and attentive they kept asking if our food was good and could they get us anything. So we found a booth and got our drinks, my shake came out first it was delish a nice dollop of whip cream (that actually taste good) and coco sprinkled on top ...NICE. The fries were next they were okay not anything over the top just regular fries.......but about 10 mins later our burgers came out. My husband got the cobb ( one of the turkey burgers) he said it was really good for me I got the bacon cheesy burger.Let me say it was a thing of beauty that brought a tear to my eye. Juicy, smoky, cheesy and beefy with the right thickness for a burger so that you get a good taste of everything on the burger. We love this place and will I NEVER eat at Red Robin, Five Guys or any other burger place if there is a Burger 21 within 50 miles. Yes the prices are higher then the average fast food but I would rather pay a dollar or two more for better quality meat then the dry patties at the drive through. But really don't trust me check it out for your self .............OH and be sure to was your hands before you eat :) .

I really like the style and options this place offers. Multiple sizes and a huge menu of specialty burgers. I tried the burger with pulled pork and cole slaw, while my wife and friends tried a few other of there high end specialty burgers. There were yummy eating sounds all around. While the food did not agree with my stomach, not their fault, more hereditary,,I will be coming back to try a few of the unique crafted burgers and sweet potato fries. It may be a little bit pricey to take the family for lunch, but definitely worth the extra couple of bucks for a unique, burger experience. It does take them some time to make the burgers, so also don't make this a fast, I'll pick some up for my starving kids last minute places. I would recommend for an hour lunch with coworkers or a date alternative from a sit down restaurant,

I went with some friends here to grab some lunch after visiting Wiregrass mall. Its one of the best burger places I've been to in Tampa. The location was fairly busy the whole time we were there (Sunday @ lunchtime). Prices were not too bad, considering it's a restaurant quality burger; however, since you do have to buy sides separately, you're looking at spending ~$10 for burger and fries. Lots of burger choices and meat choices (beef, chicken, turkey, veggie). I ordered the Skinny turkey burger and sweet potato fries. The food was all awesome. My friends got a salad, the BBQ bacon burger and regular burger. Nothing was greasy and the food seemed very fresh. This establishment also has a "shake bar" and serves beer. Will eat here again and try their other burgers.

Definitely no five guys. Burgers where just OK and they were a bit on the expensive side based off of the taste of the burgers. Personally I would rather have a whopper from Burger King (for both taste and price). Would probably never go back

Dined with friends at this Burger 21 location for dinner tonight. (Prior to our visit I reviewed the place on Yelp so I would know what to expect. ) I would have to agree with many of the Yelp comments... ie the burgers were fine (5 Guys is still tough to beat.) Fries and the various sauces were fun. Milk Shakes were fantastic. Bottom Line for us was the price. While the food was ok the prices were a little too high. Not sure we will visit again.

Burger 21 almost always delivers an above average burger experience. Their wide range of sandwich options, tasty fries and shakes, and the rather extensive condiments bar give this small chain an extra edge over their peers. The decor leaves a lot to be desired, with the restaurant feeling stark and too obviously trying to be hip. This is a small thing in light of the food quality and there is always a take-out option to avoid the visual distress.

Good burgers, great service. Music was WAY too loud. Had one small burger and fries, hubby had a burger and fries. With beverage the bill came to over $27! We have now been there twice; first and last!
